What3words: Navigation & Maps for Positive User Reviews

Fun but also extremely practicalI found out about this app after a friend of mine on a neighbouring farm had a stroke and despite being told not to follow the postcode the emergency services did so and arrived at the wrong farm. My friend found out about this app and felt medical help could have been given much quicker if the 3 word location had been used. However I am not sure if the emergency services have this yet in the UK so my interest was more out of curiosity than anything. It is a joy, just as a linguistic play. The randomness and spookily appropriate nature of the words generated is a joy. I recommend this to anyone who has a love of language..Version: 3.1.4

Great appI really like the direction this developer has taken with this app..Version: 4.17.1

So usefulSo helpful! I use it all the time and share frequently thanks for a brilliant idea and use of technology.Version: 3.2

Excellent service!I have not had the “what3words” service for more than a month. I have a situation on a busy thoroughfare and needed to call for a towing service. Because of “what3words” the towing service provider was able to pinpoint my location without my having to risk exiting my vehicle in the middle of ongoing traffic..Version: 4.21

What3Words ReviewIt is amazing. I was told about it by a close friend. It is so easy to operate. Thanks John Barnett..Version: 4.28

Easy and AccurateAmazingly usefully in giving some one your exact location .. WhatsApp is similar..Version: 4.22

Limited only by your imaginationI recently contacted Thames Valley Police to ask why the aren’t using W3W. Once you try it, you can’t fail to see the possible applications. From meeting up with friends at a new venue in town to saving lives in a dark, unknown location, it kicks the proverbial rear end. I passed it on immediately to my mate in Maun, Botswana. Addresses are a source of some ridicule there, but with W3W you suddenly have a way of letting people know where you live. Also places to meet up in the back of beyond. Wish I had shared. I think it’s a transformative cross-platform location/navigation tool that will affect so many lives, and only for the better..Version: 4.1.2

A...MAZ...ING!!!Learn to use this amazing app in about 10 seconds. It may be the most useful app you will ever download..Version: 4.1

Not well explainedJust downloaded this and it seems like a good idea but how it works is not well explained. Maybe too many programmers and not enough input from common sense..Version: 4.32

What3words is AMAZING!This is the best innovation in addressing and location accuracy ever! I love it ♥️ Navigate “down to the spot”, not the “near enough” you get from traditional addresses. Highly recommended. Also try the 3WordPhoto App; it is awesome!.Version: 3.2.6

Simple and AccurateThe best app for requesting emergency response when off the beaten path or in a large crowd or big city. A must have for camping and exploring areas unknown and known. This app could potentially save someone’s life by getting a first responder there with no time wasted. It also works great for parents and children or friends trying to find each other. It doesn’t drain your battery by constantly running in the background either. Well made application..Version: 4.27.4

Excellent ToolIf you work in agriculture you need to have this app! My coworkers and I send what three word codes If we need to get accurate directions to a field location for trials, scouting, or meeting places. The most accurate gps app I have used to date. Highly recommend!!!.Version: 4.17.1

How I didn’t dieSo I was on a nice walk with my mum and grandma to get out and a car mashed into a someone that was pulling out and some bits of pieces flew off and hit me and my family both in there legs then I remembered I had what3words app and I used my watch to call 999 and my phone for the app and they knew were to find me and my family and the people who got injured and I couldn’t believe it they knew where to find me I didn’t need to tell them what city I was in so I am lucky to even to be typing this thank you.Version: 4.6

So easyType in business name or street Unlike using a.G P S were accurate address is required which takes time but this is super quick as volunteer we use latitude and longtitude addresses to me will be more accurate especially searching open waters at night as long as we are given the correct set of digits.Version: 4.10.1

Game Changer for hikersI seen this a while back on App Store and as I hike regularly with the dogs I thought ok so downloaded hoped I never had to use it or so I thought ! Recently whilst hiking I came across someone who was ill equipped for the weather ( ice ) ie no equipment for winter walking this man had fallen & hurt ankle really bad turned out after looking ( EFR AED 1st responder first aid trained ) it was broken He had been in -15c windchill for 2 hours, I walk regularly I had recently changed mobile network for best coverage on hills + spare mobile on different network & managed to get a call out to emergency services I used what3words to give my exact location & the man was rescued from the hills I hope I never have to use again but I feel safer knowing I have it this it will save lives !! FACT !! Please if you walk , climb or just anyone download this it could save a life.Version: 4.7.3

A real lifesaving app!I only heard of this app a week ago. Last night out ten year old went on a dog walk and went off track. He and his friend got totally lost in the pitch dark with no clue of where they were. We had police, mountain rescue and a drone out searching but we managed to get data added to her phone and the app downloaded. I managed to find them literally in the middle of nowhere as the app located them exactly. Everyone - especially parents need to get this app on the family phones!.Version: 4.1

A good & simple way to address thingsGPS co-ordinates and map grid references can be confusing and difficult to remember/transcribe at the best of times, and this is where what3words comes to the fore - it has a simple 3-word address for every 3m X 3m square on the earth’s surface. 3-word addresses will never replace GPS co-ordinates or map grid references - they are not designed to. But they are designed to provide a simple addressing system for places that can’t be easily addressed by existing systems, such as: Where to meet your friends when going to a football match or picnic in the park, Which track to turn at when walking or 4WDing in the bush, Where emergency services can find you when you injure yourself on the beach. You can also have fun with the app by setting up treasure hunts, car rallies, etc..Version: 4.1

Brilliant idea, app needs some workBrilliant idea but the app needs basic features adding. There is no search history which is a nuisance. As an example I’m running a training course at a customer site and I need to travel to and from the hotel I’m staying in every day for a week. Because there’s no search history I need to type in the customer’s name every morning and the hotel name every evening, bit of a pain, especially as I can’t remember the name of the hotel, so I have to search my emails for the booking confirmation... In both Waze and Google maps the last twenty or so addresses appear below the search box. Ok, so I could favourite each location the first time I visit, favouriting is easy, can be done with one tap, apart from adding the label! But I have remember to do that... ugh. But then accessing a favourite needs four taps, one to save, four to get to! No quick access to your favourites from the search bar either. Even worse, the search doesn’t look in the favourites! I’ve labelled my home address as Home but searching for Home doesn’t find the favourite. When I have a hundred or so favourites how do I search them? I love the idea and there are situations where this app has no equal but without these basic features Waze and Google Maps are still more convenient to use. Please add these features. B.Version: 4.6

GeniusThis changes everything.Version: 3.1.3

I hope I never have to use it!If I have to use it that means I’m in a serious situation! It’s something I’m very glad to save space on my phone for though! My two kids aged 10 and 12 both know how to use the app and give the 3 words to the operator if anything ever happened where we were lost and in need of help. I think it’s a great tool to have for anyone! I can think of a handful of situations where a person might need to use it! Such a brilliant idea. Thanks to the developers and person who thought of it!!.Version: 4.7

My input observationsThe squares to accept Privacy and T&Cs were very pale when viewed on iPhone Otherwise all good David.Version: 4.19

Critically Important AppI just told my family members to download and install what3words. Everybody should have it. This app can save lives. Don't get stuck in a situation where you can't communicate your exact location except in the most circumstantial fashion, by numerical coordinates, or by saying what you see around you, or by walking to find the mile marker while other drivers are zooming by at 65mph. What if you are trapped in earthquake debris, or are on a rooftop in a flood, or have lost your way walking in the Pine Barrens like Paulie and Chris in The Sopranos, or had a bad fall while hiking? Three words is all it takes for people to locate you with a precision of a 3x3m square..Version: 3.3.4

So simple yet so profound!What3words has fundamentally changed how I share location information. Period. At work and at home, with family and friends, it is now so easy to share locations by using three simple words instead of more complicated addresses, GPS coordinates or the like. What3Words isn’t there to ‘replace’ anything we may currently use - it simply provides a more ergonomic way of communicating location information. The app is the epitome of What3Words: simple to use, intuitive, and does exactly what it needs to do..Version: 4.1

EasyEasy way to send and find favourite spots.Version: 3.5.3

PrecisionMy ice shack is in the middle chunk of a huge lake. The weather can kick up any time, leaving little margin for error. Friends can travel from any direction and arrive safely and precisely on their first transit. The comfort of knowing a location gives me confidence in the oft-times austere outdoor environment. JPB.Version: 4.13

Elegant, simple, clever, usefulWhat a great system. Congratulations on the concept and making it a reality. Not sure how it works for other cultures/alphabets/characters.Version: 4.1.4

RIP SatnavThis is the end of satnav as we know it. This app is so precise, it would be remiss of car manufacturers and designers not to incorporate it into vehicles now and in the future. Each home should just write their What3Words for their home address in their phone notes in case of an emergency call and it helps support them whist out and about too, say for car breakdown or accident etc. I use this for documenting safety procedures and have replaced the old GPS coordinates for hospital’s etc., for W3W due to how exact it is with very little tolerance that is worth me worrying about..Version: 4.23

Best thing since sliced breadSo simple to use and SO many ways to use it. “Meet me here” means you can’t miss each other. Getting stuff delivered to EXACTLY where you need it and not the other side of the house (shifting a tonne of sand is no joke). I can’t wait for drone deliveries to the exact spot in the back yard (and not in the pool!). Simply the best thing ever..Version: 4.9

An Excellent AppExcellent ! Amazing accuracy and far better than looking up an address on a map. What.3.Words can take you right to your destination’s door..Version: 4.12

Amazing appThe application is amazing, really useful for those addresses where there are not numbers or even street names. It is a really good idea and hopefully many people will be using it soon (car breakdown companies specially). I've only have two little requests for designers, 1) it would be fantastic to be able to order your saved locations. 2) it also would be nice to be able to choose two languages at the same time. I live in the UK and when sharing my locations I do it to different friends being from Spain and the UK and to give them the correct words, I need to be change the settings-languaje to provide to them the addresses..Version: 4.0.2

Life SavingI had this app installed because my parents told me it would he useful in an emergency. They were right! I was walking an unfamiliar route home because of road closures and I ended up having to call an ambulance for a passer by who had fallen down some stairs and injured themselves- they couldn’t breathe. I had no idea where I was and it was a dark night so I used this app to tell the ambulance call handler where I was . They were able to locate me no problem with the 3 words the app displayed . Thanks to this app the ambulance could find me quickly and in time to save the man’s life..Version: 4.12

God damn geniusI don’t usually leave reviews... but holy!!!! This is so unique and fascinating and so simple at the same time!! Ahhh!!!.Version: 4.9

Everyone should use this, especially realtors!Have you ever looked at a real estate listing, especially for rural land, to find the address vague? No matter how hard you try, you can’t find the property using an online map. How great would it be if realtors used this app to locate the entrance to the property so precisely! I have recommended this app to so many people for so many reasons, not the least, 911 call centers! Download it today! You will not be disappointed..Version: 4.6.1

ExcellentEasy to use.Version: 4.7.3

This app could save your lifeI am a motorcyclist and tragically 2 days ago lost one of my closest friends while we were out on a ride. He misjudged a bend and hit a tree. When we called for an ambulance they wanted to know what road we were on and what the nearest houses were etc. We were in a very rural location, basically in the middle of nowhere. Another mate who was riding with us had the presence of mind to use this app to tell the ambulance where we were and it meant the land ambulance and air ambulance knew exactly where to come to. Sadly he couldn’t be saved, but everyone should have this app on their phone. It could be the difference between life and death for you or your loved ones..Version: 4.1

Helped Save Me!I was involved in an car accident not too long ago and had to make an emergency phone call to the police! I was stuck on the motor way in the UK during rush hour traffic in the far right Lane unsure of where I was as it was pitch black. What3Words helped the police locate our accident and had an emergency response team out within minutes to close off the heavy traffic and get our selfs and vehicles off the road and back to safety. Fantastic App and a must have for pretty much all phones, should come pre-installed if you asked me. 👍🏼.Version: 4.7

Not bad but not disability friendlyI like the idea of this app but did noticed a couple of problems. My husband is blind and when the bus lets him off at the wrong spot I need to know where to go pick him up. While the words themselves work with voiceover the map does not. It provides no fees back at all beyond error beeps. The next problem is I clicked my location 3 or 4 times and it gave me different locations each time, one time it even showed me in my neighbors kitchen. Not overly accurate if you ask me. If I am waiting for the emergency responders and it shows me 15 squares from where I am it could be troublesome I really like the idea of this app and I will update as I play with it.Version: 3.5.1

The futureThis will be the way all Mail is delivered.Version: 3.2

I’m an emergency services worker, and this is fantasticI’m an emergency services worker in the UK. I’m on a team covering a very large rural area, and this is incredibly helpful. Not only is it a slick app, but the concept behind it is a real game changer. Our control room use it when people call for help, and we use it to help each other reach locations. The ambulance service in our area also use it. I urge everyone, especially those in rural areas, at least find out what the 3 words are for their home location and write it down and keep it near your phone because postcodes and maps are wrong more often than people would think. But also have the app installed if they break down in the middle of nowhere. Sure there are other ways, like GPS coordinates and OS map refs, but they are not easy to memorise and this simplifies things for people in a stressful crisis. Top tip - there will be a few sets of words near you (each 3M squares), so choose ones that are easy to communicate without ambiguity, for example avoid words that sound the same but have different spellings (lead, led, etc) or can be tricky to spell. Stay safe..Version: 4.7.3

Addressing made simple!What3words is a fantastic way to discuss location. There’s no need for complicated descriptions, erroneous addresses or lengthy coordinates. Simply open the app, press the locator arrow, and BOOM! Your local 3m x 3m grid square is addressed 😎👍 Perfect for tagging your car in a car park, letting family and friends know where *exactly* to meet at an event, or simply to let people know where you are in the countryside. This breakthrough new way of discussing location is making waves across society, both in industry and emergency services, so the more we use it the quicker everyone will adopt it. It’s great, it’s free, and it’s so useful! For shoppers or site-seers, I’d highly recommend the partner “3WordPhoto” app, as you can snap your newfound bargain or favourite vista, and instantly be able to locate it again in future!.Version: 3.2.3

I might needI might need that just in case and I like hiking alone. Hopefully I may never need that, but you never know. Thanks for the program..Version: 4.7.3

Great location fonderA great app to install on your phone. It will locate you within 10 feet. If your phone is on and you were in an accident, it can be used to find you. Also, you can use it with “find my iPhone“ or “find my iPad“ if you have lost it someplace. Easy to use. Highly recommended..Version: 4.8

Life saverA friend of ours who told us about What3words told us how it saved his life. He was in a remote place and rolled his quad bike and was trapped. He broke ribs pelvis had a collapsed lung and many other injuries. He used the app and the emergency services were able to get to him very quickly. It probably saved his life. I now recommend it to family and friends and at times use it as a sat nav when meeting friends. I saw him a few months ago and he seemed to be doing well thank goodness and thanks to this app..Version: 4.13

What three wordsChris is a very intelligent man. So proud of him for coming up with this technology. I was an EMT. Everyone with the technology to support this should download it right away. I am very impressed. I’m going to tell my whole family about this and ask them to download it. I will worry so much less having this app and knowing that my kids have access to this. Chris should be a household name. Your the coolest in my book. Thank you for your thoughtfulness..Version: 4.18

What3wordsTrès utile pour la marche en forêt, pour placer des jalons dans le parcours et les retrouver aisément par la suite..Version: 4.24.2

Amazing.A game changer. Needs a greater take up by Australian businesses and services, but that will come..Version: 4.4.2

BrilliantJust absolutely brilliant as sometimes people sends you a location but they are nowhere to be seen, now thanks to this app there is no stone that has been left unturned without you actually having to turn those stones as they have done it for you. Trustworthy and reliable. NICELY DONE.Version: 4.20

Suggestion for new appAs son and father finding Father in Law or son in emergency would be good. But at extreme of age app manipulation can be an issue. So can you create a big red button press twice or for 10 seconds this then sends three texts with location and help me message. This would be excellent. Possibly add call link (big buttons) in next screen so they can simply press to phone that person (with photo). Cal this “Help Me 3”, aimed as senior help. It must work on older iso iPhones, as far back as 6 (this keeps costs low/possible) and needs to be very simple obvious to use. (Suggest do deal with case supplier with extra battery as this will not work is battery is flat)..Version: 4.32.1

Great way to tell people your locationGreat way to tell people your location.Version: 4.7.3

If your not sure where you are this is for youI’ve been using What 3 Words since it became available. I use it for more precise navigation with Waze. I work as a chauffeur and have used it to have clients find me in areas they don’t know or for pickups after drops. I have used it to arrange meeting place. I have used it to assistance after I broke down in the middle of nowhere. I have used it for fun, just typing 3 random words and seeing where it is in the world. This app is a must have..Version: 4.23.1

Sounds like a good ideaI’ve read and heard so many stories of people getting lost hiking, or being injured with terrible outcomes. Having a power source too sounds critical. So I will upgrade my remote charging options, to always have some back up charging devices. I’ve subscribed. K. Krahl.Version: 4.22

Life saverToday I had to perform CPR on a jogger I had discovered while dog walking in a country park. The location was a distance away from any drivable roads and although I knew where I was when asked by the 999 operated for a location I could not describe my location quickly, thankfully another passer by had this app and was able to quickly give a precise location. I have now downloaded the app and will be telling everyone I know how to use it..Version: 4.8

Should be native in every phoneMr 'Pointless' has missed the point! You don't need special equipment, just a phone and the app. I am still learning its many uses - I have only just learned it can be used in a Satnav, or for pinpointing those 'you can't miss it' houses without clear names or numbers, finding your car or tent in a miriad of others and so on. My favourite use is finding amusing or apposite combinations of words! I think perhaps the squares are smaller than necessary- my own house is covered by about a dozen..Version: 4.1.3

Best Maps AppLove using ‘What3Words’ it’s a unique app with amazing accuracy, this will be the go to app in the future and used worldwide 👍.Version: 4.23.1

So Many usesThis app is wonderful. I wish more first responders and the public alike would use it. I have found it useful for locating lost items, specific addresses, and I use it as a password creator. It is fun to put in 3 random words and see where it takes you. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an adventure and to step “outside your box” and into a 3x3 meter box. AWESOME!!!.Version: 4.11

So cool! This is the coolest app I’ve ever seen!.Version: 4.7.3

KauriGreat app. Brilliant use of modern technology..Version: 4.31

Used last Friday, Scotland, UKIm an ex military, para with a medic specialty. Used to work for 999 Emergency when retired. The most important thing for us was always to establish precise location. Last Friday i was running down very steep hill with an intention to speedfly. Unfortunately my foot got stucked in between the rocks while i was still running in result it was twisted and almost fully torn off. Still concious i have managed to disconnect of harness, pack it and crawl down to the small space emergency servises could easily approach. When i say easily that means i was on relatively flat ground not a slope. This is when I called Emergency Services and used my app. Without it i would not be able to say anything except North Slope which is many miles long. Multi agencies including Air Medivac were involved and help arrived promptly..Version: 4.5

Haven’t had to use it yet, but it’s great family safetyI really like this app. I haven’t had to use it yet, but I believe it is the most worthwhile app on my iPhone. They have location dialed in. My son and his girlfriend just rented a place in Jefferson,NC and apparently it’s so far out the trash truck doesn’t go out that far. And they tell me it’s pitch dark at night. That got me thinking what if you need police or fire. Would they be able to find him. I’m hoping this app will do the trick. Something is better than nothing..Version: 4.27.4

AmazingI have only just started here, it is incredible!.Version: 4.7.2

What3worddGot to get my family to get this app. I picked my address and it showed my apartment and highlighted exactly where my apartment was on the 7 floor! AMAZING!!!!!! If my grandkids run into any kind of real problems in second it will show wher they are. Can not think of a app that should could be the most important one ALL should have on their phones. It tracks on demand..Version: 4.19

Super duperGreat to use..Version: 4.9

AMAZINGOk, so this app is really amazing. If you haven’t downloaded it already, you definitely should. A few months ago, I was on a long walk in the middle of nowhere with my best friend, her mum and her 5 year old brother. Her and I were running around, hanging out, while her mum was busy looking after her brother. Eventually, we found a tall tree so my friend started to climb up it while I waited at the bottom. Suddenly, while she was at the top of the tree, the branch she was on snapped, and she fell out of the tree (about 15ft high) she was on the floor in pain and we didn’t know what to do. Her mum was with us at the time and she got out her phone and used what3words to tell the ambulance where we were. After a while the ambulance came and took her safely to the hospital. I have no idea what we would do without what3words. Please download this app, because you never know it could save your life. Stay safe everyone hope you have a great day and ty for reading ❤️.Version: 4.7.3

StunningI’ve been banging the WTW drum since I first heard about it a couple of years ago. I own a pub in the middle of no where and constantly have couriers and visitors asking for directions. Particularly to barn conversation type properties. This app solves all those problems in an instant. I would suggest to the developers that they contact rural estate agents/realtors and encourage them to use WTW. If prospective buyers use the app to find their dream home I’m sure they would adopt it as part of the properties address. Also association’s like the pony club and the kennel club. Keep up the good work..Version: 4.8.2

Very accurateLearned about this app from a Airbnb in the Cotswolds, UK where there are no addresses per se. They used this app to locate the entrance to their place as well as to locate a suitable parking location if there weren’t any available near their place. I ended up using what3words to get a spot’s coordinates then use those in Google Maps to navigate. Works great!!!.Version: 4.19

Your Location in SecondsIt’s amazing the way the system works I just click with my finger on the phone and immediately gave me the three words for my exact location this generates a immense benefit for all human beings to feel safe that will be located in case of getting lost or accident.Version: 4.21

This will save lives!!!Why is our useless government not standardizing this?!?!?!? This app will save lives! Lets get the word out there people!!!!.Version: 4.19

Great app would encourage people to download itI originally downloaded this app because I saw an advert online saying that it helps the emergency services and upon reading the reviews that has been proven. It works amazingly and is very easy to use. I’m also very happy with it because I live on a new build estate and most maps don’t have us on but what three word does. I would definitely encourage people to download, if for no other reason to help in case of emergency..Version: 4.9

A reviewNice app bro.Version: 4.9

My3Words, Phenomenal!Absolutely incredible. I’m sure it will save lives, loves and lost pets. I would love be to see it do live, real-time tracking. Will never get lost again. The applications for this new service, technology will only continue to find new applications in the betterment of humankind’s living and experiences. What’s next? The moon...Mars? Maybe the oceans depths. Time will tell. Tick, tick, tick. Greatly appreciated..Version: 4.8.3

Just.do.itAwesomely simple way of describing exactly where you are. Three word elegance for every location on the planet..Version: 4.6

Excellent app - everyone should have it!I have used this app for a long time now and find it easy to use and amazingly helpful! From arranging a place to meet a taxi after a concert at Wembley to finding where I’ve parked my car in a field on a day trip out, it never lets me down. It’s also nice to know you can call for help and give them your precise location so, even in the middle of nowhere, you can be found..Version: 4.28

WowWhat a great concept works amazing. Able to now pinpoint a location in the middle of field in simple language if needed. Thanks fir dreaming this up and rolling it out. Game changer term us overused but not this timr.Version: 4.2.2

WOW, it’s simple and amazing!I just saw this in a rescue story on my local news and went right onto the App Store to get it. I just tried it out and am amazed what it does and how simple of an idea it is, but of course I never would of thought about it. This may literally save my life one day. So I’m goi g to tell everyone about it. They said that you don’t need cellular to use it. So that could of been helpful when Rogers was down the other day. Thanks to the creator’s of this!.Version: 4.19

Great way to find the driveway of a rural wineryGoogle maps’ location pins and Siri Directions often don’t know exactly where a driveway entrance is located. Both have been off by 1/10 of a mile or more. It’s not a simple task to turn a tour bus around on a narrow country road, so 3 Words may just prove to be invaluable in my line of work..Version: 4.14.2

Confusing!I don’t know about anyone else but I’m finding this system decidedly confusing. Every time I open the app the 3 words allocated to my front door seems to change. I think the system is a very good idea, but a little confusing in my case. Hence only one star because it’s accuracy needs to be improved. UPDATE: The developer informs that the different names I get for my front door is because of the GPS on my phone. So she said that if I zoom in on my front door, in the app obviously, then the reference names I get will be more accurate. So I’ll give that a try, it does make sense. Thank you developer for taking the trouble to explain this to me, I have changed my rating..Version: 4.18

What a brilliant ideaThe journey continues I can know the path obscured by mystical unique three words. I can tell you where my course is——->.Version: 4.13

Super Amazing, Wish it was Apple Watch CompatibleThe uses for this app are limitless and I’ve already read so many stories where this app has saved lives. My only suggestion/ request is that it becomes Apple Watch compatible! This could be so helpful!.Version: 4.8.3

App helped ambulance find usThis app is a life-saver. We came across an injured person in woodland today and were able to share the exact location with the ambulance control team as we sought assistance. It was so hard on the spot to describe where we were - and to even remember names of roads is hard in an emergency. What Three Words solved that immediately and gave us great relief that the ambulance would know exactly where to come. Thank you clever folk who came up with this. Xx.Version: 4.14.2

InterestingCan you get the word combinations for your home address changed if you don’t like them? Mines got bedbugs!!!!.Version: 3.2

AmazingGoogle and apple maps never showed my house. Everyone always got lost and ended up in some place that wasn’t anywhere near. This app makes it so much easier to find, I love it, brillant idea and app..Version: 4.10.1

Ground Breaking App.What3words has to be the most innovative app in the App Store. When I have a new destination to navigate to, I always use what3words so that I am able to pinpoint things like the entrance to carparks. Then, using the navigation link, I transfer to a satnav app for the journey, knowing that I’m headed to the exact site that I’m need. On a different note, my wife works in a police control room and they use what3words on a daily basis, to great affect. A very appreciative thank you to all involved..Version: 4.32.1

Helped emergency services get to usThis morning I witnessed a road traffic accident on my way to work. Lucky person was okay but needed the police and ambulance just in case. Someone called 999, but wasn’t sure exactly where we were and the dispatcher wasn’t local so didn’t understand either. I got out my what3words app and we were immediately found. Very helpful and got the services to us without delay or confusion. Recommend this be advertised more as the person that called 99 didn’t have a clue about what it was, but was impressed at how helpful it was..Version: 4.7.3

Phone app is great, watch app could be tooThe phone app is awesome. So useful for many things like food delivery to apartment complexes, meeting friends when no address is available, boat and hiking navigation, locating a parked car and so much more. The Apple Watch app could be amazing with a few tweaks. Currently it’s possible to save a location using the watch but there is no way to view the saved location list. Relying solely on voice search can be cumbersome as so many words sound similar and background noise can be a problem. It would be so useful to have a “saved list” on the watch to pick from. Folders would help with organizing locations. Going out for a hike, urban exploration or jet ski ride with a list of locations, added to favorites in advance on a phone or tablet would be great. The compass navigation would be so handy on the watch. Especially without a phone. A few tweaks on “compass mode” would make a big difference. The heading could be more bold and pronounced to make it easier to see at a glance. Also the distance needs to be bigger and bolder so it’s easy to see at a glance. Currently it shows the destination in bold print in the center of the compass. That isn’t very useful while actively navigating. I would rather have to tap or long press to confirm or change the destination. Overall this is a very useful app. I hope they make a few changes to the watch app and make it as awesome as the phone app..Version: 4.21

My top app!I use this all the time, it’s the best app for so many things. I paraglide, and during a recent accident, friends were able to direct emergency services to the exact location of the injured pilot. This is not something that could have been achieved without the app due to the terrain and the simplicity of W3W. Locational coordinates could have achieved the same result, but they have multiple formats and are complex. This is great for the layperson. I’ve used it to meet people in new venues in London, including obscure large architectural treats and locations in parks. I live in Sussex and have also used this app to meet friends out walking on the South Downs during lockdown. I can’t recommend it more!!.Version: 4.8.3

Nice app with potential to be exploredIt works as advertised- far easier to remember words than numbers. New / effort reducing usage will appear when adopting accelerates. It is already integrated with google maps for navigation . Wish early adopters could choose words.Version: 4.8.3

Much easier than coordinatesA brilliant app which allows the pin-pointing of a location. Use it to identify where you are at a concert, when camping or even to have items delivered. So simple even youngsters can use it. So accurate that it can easily be used to locate lost or injured people or broken down vehicles. A real winner!.Version: 4.2.2

DOWNLOAD IT FIRST IN YOUR FAM!Seriously, go download it already, tell the family and friend to do it too. This is going to change how we deal with the world forever. AND ITS FUN, the word combos can just sound plain silly, I just go on sometimes and click the squares around where I am and always get a good laugh or 2. NONE of the words are profanity or inappropriate, just common everyday words in a sometimes funny 3word combination. IT ONLY WORKS if we all use it and will be the location pinpoint overhaul the delivery industry has needed since GPS&CPUs changed everything. Why are you still reading, go tell it on the mountain!!!.Version: 4.5

All you need is the “network effect”Thing is: this is such a great idea. Extremely well thought out, in spite of some comments of people who don’t get it. But I hope this can gradually gather steam (you really need some publicity!), as the most serious problem is that people who tend to understand *why* this is a good idea don’t need it as much as those who don’t know how hard it is to locate a place and communicate that accurately. As more and more people use it, however, hopefully the network effect will amplify its relevance. My brother drives for Lyft, and really wishes they used it..Version: 3.2.1

Amazing!!Although I am only young I love any medical being a first aider myself. To finally have an app that can let people know where you are in emergency situations is amazing! My father is a paramedic and often comes home annoyed after a long day trying to find people and where they’re in distress. To anyone who counteracts this app and says that it’s “stupid” or “pointless” then please reconsider your thoughts, this app is going to save countless lives and save time for the paramedics getting to the person in need. Understand that this app will better us all in different ways as it can also be used as a map for people who are lost and need help finding their way home ♥️.Version: 4.1.2

AmazingThis is undoubtedly the app of the year how it gets 4.8 rating is beyond me there is no way this can be considered anything less than full compliments only thing I would change in it is more storage and because of the job these guys have done I would even pay for that “ reasonable amount though please “ it’s a fantastic app and should be handed an award for its reliability and in-depth precision no one can fault this keep it going guys please look forward to what you have in mind next. This is only a small amount of what I could say about this app “How can this app only get 4.7” it’s a 10 every day of the week.Version: 4.10.1

BrilliantLove the logic - 3 words what more do you need?.Version: 4.1

New and innovative approachI like the idea and can imagine so many uses for this mapping approach. I like being able to save the locations. I would like to change the order of my saved locations. So far I cannot see how to change the order of saved locations. It appears to be sorted based on the last location saved is top of the list. Great idea with vast potential, great job!.Version: 3.2.6

Super fantasticSuch a great idea. I wish more people used this app.Version: 4.2.2

Outstanding concept !Still reeling at the possibilities of this, please send me share option form !!.Version: 3.5.1

Great appJust needs some tweaking, ie finger print and photo recognition to login.Version: 4.14.3

Why not fully offline?I've only just gotten the app and it's a great system, however the first thing I did was to try it in airplane mode, and although I can see the 3 word address to my (inaccurate location), I can not load the map and at least have some idea of where my accurate location is. And when I see in the bottom left of the screen that it is using Google maps anyway, I'm surprised we don't have the ability to download maps for offline use (or better yet, automatically tap into the maps I've already got on my device in Google maps). This seems like an obvious feature to add with the next update and would make the app 5 star..Version: 4.7.3

OMG!!! Great appI’ll tell you one thing, get this app on a stand-alone GPS device and you’ll put TomTom and Garmin out of business. I’m going to try this app on my iPad mini 2 for my part time job driving for Uber. I think this is not only the coolest idea but if it works out for my part time work with Uber and Lyft I’ll buy a new bigger iPad for 1 and I’ll tell all my friends and family to get this for 2. Thanks for the great app.Version: 3.5

Genius solutionThis application completely changes our way of communicating addresses. Instead of a vague street address that doesn’t help when I need to meet my friend in a crowded place, in just 3 words I could find a precise location. And the application is easy to use..Version: 4.31

Missing ability to tag images.Great that we can add /// to photos but ideally allow upload to gallery associate tags with the images. People can then flag landmarks and useful information..Version: 4.22

Very Useful ProgramA 911 dispatcher manager suggested that “What 3 Words” was a very useful app to install because if you need help you can provide most 911 services the three words of your location and 911 can locate you. The app interacts with Google maps which also makes it a very useful tool to have..Version: 4.14

Such a great idea, an emergency locator for the laypersonThis is such a good idea that emergency Plus app in Australia has incorporated it in its app. To think that this is implemented across the globe is just mind boggling. Well done guys for thinking of such an easy way to locate the precise position of someone..Version: 4.7.2

Way to go in Central Australia’s Outback! Most good things are simple yet elegant.Version: 4.6

Exact locationThis app pinpoints exact locations. One drawback is that its maps are waaay out of date. I’ve had horses for years, but app map is pre-horses. Also, both our driveways have been blacktopped for years, yet map shows gravel drives, one drive which is no longer even there! I’d give this app 5 stars and gladly pay for it if it had updated maps, and kept them up to date..Version: 4.22.1

GeniusWow what a genius idea! I should know because when I was in primary school I had an idea to make the same sort of then expect with numbers and letters for every square meter, and I started naming square meter parts of my school. I’m very happy that someone made it into an app!.Version: 4.14.1

What 3 wordsWhat a brilliant well thought out way to find an exact location. I was stuck in the middle of the Welsh countryside 2 years ago. I had to walk almost two miles to find a farmhouse to ask if I could use their postcode so a breakdown recovery service could find my location. If I would have had what 3 words installed on my phone I could have just told them the three words exactly where my car had broken down. But now it’s going to make driving more of a pleasure..Version: 4.31

Great app. Suggestions for the futureThere are so many possibilities for what could be done with this app. What if you could connect it to social media and publicly share locations. Or you could look at the map and turn a filter on to view popular saved locations that are represented by different colors based on how many people have saved them. You could learn the popular places at a state park and go there without having to do tons of research! Keep adding on to this, you’ve got something good here..Version: 3.1.0

Used to direct ambulance to injured riderToday we used W3W to direct the emergency services to a location in the bush here in Queensland. So simple and unmistakable. Brilliant product..Version: 4.24.1

Great but could use widget dark modeI love the technology and want to see it grow and develop into a universal standard. It might help if a little more attention was made to the UX. Allow dark mode for the widgets so that it can be integrated more aesthetically on the users app pages. Add features that make it more fun to play with the tech, maybe gamefy a part of it. Onwards and upwards for What3Words!.Version: 4.30

Wandering Folks LocatedI saw this app demonstrated on CBS News and found it to be the perfect thing for finding folks who wander around when on outings (or for those who are “directionally challenged”). The senior citizen that I am, I’ve always been great with locations and directions, but my comrades - not so much. Now to get them onboard and have them load this app!.Version: 4.10.1

This is amazingI always think when are we going to have an application that preciously show a location or allow us to share our location when we do not know or it does not have a door no or street name, here it is !!! Great work :).Version: 4.19

SharonSo much potential. Amazing concept to change the lives of so many, to give them what a lot of us take for granted, an address and what that can deliver..Version: 3.2.5

Another “disruptive” technologyAn immensely important app that everyone should download. This has the capability of being another “disruptive,” game-changing technology. This simplifies a desired address to a 3x3 meter square. This could improve navigation for regular commuting, ride sharing, delivery services, search and rescue.... The possibilities are endless. My only recommendation to the developers would be to allow the app to access your Contacts List to search those addresses for their 3 words. Otherwise, wonderful work! Kudos!.Version: 4.1

No more mapsWhat an interesting innovation. Congratulations to the team. With ever changing roads and developments, finally an app that will not have to change. More ever this will solve several issues associated with traditional map which normally defined by a street address and stop at the street level..Version: 4.9

A great idea for pinpointing locationsVery helpful for pinpointing a spot in a remote location, or somewhere in the suburbs that’s missing a precise detail. Great fun.Version: 4.8

Lost in a parkWow, could not find group in very large park, used this product and went straight to them. 👍.Version: 4.32.1

Love this app as a hikerOften, there is no address for hikes and so this is a great app to track all of the trails that I love. And also great to direct my friends to meet me there. However. I seem to have hit a limit on the number of places that I can save. I would like to have more ability to save more locations. Thanks!.Version: 4.4

It seems like a good idea. Most suitable for remote areas..Version: 4.4.2

Great appThe three words need to be bigger though..Version: 4.5

Simplicity plusInnovation, quirky and fun. Importantly, almost as pinpoint accurate as GPS coordinates, but simpler and easier..Version: 4.29.1

I love it and it helped me to be picked up by the ambulance CrewI dislocated my knee and tore the tendon off a while ago and it was in a playground so new it wasn’t on a map and so when my mum called 999 and they couldn’t find it they asked if she had what three words and she said I do and gave them the three words. I was picked up an hour and three quarter later due to the ambulance not being able to get into the park but without doubt this is a brilliant app.Version: 4.25

To counter the “pointless” reviewerWriting a review to point out the mistakes in the reviewer who titled their review “Pointless”. At first I assumed that it required data signal to interpret any GPS location into a 3word location. The fact is, once downloaded to try, is that in airplane mode the app can still leverage the iPhone’s built in GPS module to get a location. Furthermore, you can pinpoint ANY location in the world, and find the 3word location. This is impressive: means that it somehow has a full mapping of EVERY 3x3 square in the world, available to identify where you are. Of course, the issue then is how you’re supposed to contact someone if you don’t have any digital network signal... but in general, say you’re lost in a city and need to find the one and only open gate to a location, you can specify and share to your friends (who also have this app)..Version: 4.0.2

A godsend when we broke downWe’re on holiday in Devon - driving for a day out across the moors, on country lanes - the clutch burns out on me… Mass panic as we were literally in the middle of no-where - trying to describe the route to the recovery Company - only to be told it’s a long road .,,, don’t I know it. My daughter has a lightbulb mommy/ mum I have the 3 words app, 30 seconds later the recovery team were able to pinpoint out whereabouts. A massive thank you to the developers.Version: 4.9

Great app, especially for emergenciesI'm so glad the emergency services here in the UK are using what3words and encouraging people to download it, I've read several stories where the emergency services have used what3words to save lives. I'm blind, and as I can't see landmarks or street signs what3words would be very useful in an emergency, so thanks for making the app accessible with VoiceOver. I've got all my family to download what3words, and I urge everyone to get it, you never know when it could save your life..Version: 4.27.4

Brilliant ideaNow way possible to remember those coordinates, using a 3 word address with integration with google maps is a elegant easy to use alternative. ....and I can sign on using Apple security.Version: 4.4.2

If only…This app and the power of it to precisely direct someone somewhere is phenomenal. IF ONLY EVERYONE USED IT! My hitch is having to get people to download to use it. Ugh. I’m a Realtor based in Palm Springs, CA. Physical address are great, but not when it’s a condo within a complex that convoluted. If more agents used this app, life would be a so much easier..Version: 4.27.4

The app is a great idea!!I noticed that it only mentions UK in the description and other places a lot. I think the app should be made more useable for people who live in other places ie Canada for one, USA for 2 etc etc etc…I live in Ontario, Canada & would like to see this app more geared towards being user friendly for here where I live. Thank you.Version: 4.32.1

Why has this not been thought of before? It’s so simple it’s laughableWhy struggle to remember the address of where you are going, especially when it’s Postcode covers several buildings that don’t have a number on. Have you ever had to look for an address that you discover doesn’t have its number on & can’t be seen from outside? I have pulled my hair out at times when trying to find “the cottage” or “XYZ Limited’s” building that doesn’t have its name on? What3Words has been the answer to my prayers! Same goes for going on holiday where “Sol Mare”, last September I went on holiday to Greece, the coach couldn’t get to the hotel directly due to it being half a mile up a track. So we were dropped off on the main road. Walking up the track on each side we found dozens of places, none of which we could read the Greek name. Fortunately the owner had given the What3Word address. This led us straight to the front door, yet several other travellers on our coach were still looking for their place by the time we were sitting on our balcony. What3Word is my Company’s addressing system now. We have cut out days of lost time since September 2018- March 2019 in lost man-hours looking for customers addresses. It even works in my Mercedes too. Just put in the three word address and the car’s Satnav delivers me to the door..Version: 3.5.1

Vital information to fire serviceDownloaded the app and had a look around it but never used it till today. Driving home I came across a haystack fire. This was in the middle of nowhere with no visible landmarks and being dark it also made things harder. When speaking to the fire service I was able to give them the location of the access road leading to the fire. This information is vital to the emergency services and can help them find you quicker than if you were to give them instructions based on things you see. I highly recommend people get it as you don’t know when you may need it..Version: 4.0.2

What three wordsVery easy for anyone to use!.Version: 4.24.2

Impressed, awestruck actuallyI am so impressed with the depth of thought and the utter simplicity of this app. I would love to meet the creators and ask about their spirituality. Only by meditating and brainstorming would this have ever been possible. Triangulation has been around for centuries. This is space chess triangulation!!.Version: 4.21

It works!Easy to install. It does tell you exactly where you are!.Version: 4.31

Move over postcodesThe app just keeps getting better with every update. Runs smooth, allows me in my job to save hard to find locations for future reference, just need more people to be made aware of the benefits of this app, over the old outdated postcode, which in rural areas one postcode can cover a 3-5 mile radius, yet this app will lead you to the front door. Can’t praise this app enough and 5 stars is underrated for this app. Keep up the great work developers, you deserve all the praise you get..Version: 3.5

Fulfils a need I didn’t know I had..I read an article on what3words in yesterday’s Melbourne Age - so I thought I’d look at the website, and discovered the App. It’s absolutely brilliant. Last year I fell and fractured my hip after tripping on a path in bush land, and I found it difficult to explain to the phone operator where to send the ambulance. If I’d had it last year, it would have been much easier - the App automatically installed on my Apple Watch after I’d installed it on my iPhone, so if I have another fall (touch wood), I’ll be able to get help much more quickly. I’m thinking of other uses for a very good App..Version: 4.29.1

FunSomething fun to do with my friends… cause we enjoy games like geofinder this is a fun and free alternative.Version: 4.10.1

Question to the developerI’m been long searching for an app that routes me back to my home when I’m stuck somewhere while walking/hiking/running. The other day I was running and lost my way while going back home. Had to use Apple Maps app on my iPhone to track back home. Will your watch app allow me tell or choose from my favorites and reroute me to my home from where I’m? Also, I wanted to connect this step as part of my workout activity. If these two features are available, I’m sold. For example, Garmin Forerunner 965 does this. Appreciate your input..Version: 4.31

Police rescueMy wife and I were in a tough spot in rough terrain and needed help this summer. We called 911 and the responding officer directed me to the what3words website. I sent him the three words and they came through thick bush up a mountain straight to us. They say 90% of their rescues are resolved by using the app. I can’t recommend it enough..Version: 4.21

Great safety toolVery accurate.Version: 4.19

Saved meThis app is amazing and is incredibly easy to use. Today my wife called me saying she was on the side of the road and that the car was smoking. Once I made sure she had pulled over and that she and our child were out of the car (and that the car was not on fire), I asked her where she was. She wasn’t sure. I then remembered that we had just downloaded this app (but had never used it before). All I had to say was, “Send me your What3words then hangup and call CAA for a tow-truck - I’m on my way.” Having never used the app and despite being flustered and not the most tech-savvy person, my wife sent me a message (it’s integrated into the app), which opened on my What3words app and I hit ‘navigate here’ and it popped open in Google Maps (what I like to use). Download this app and have your friends and family download it - you never know when you’ll need it like I did. To the developers: thank you..Version: 4.1

Travel woesA year or two ago I was in Costa Rica looking for an Airbnb I had booked in a super sketchy neighborhood. Everyone had tall gates and walls around their houses. The directions had an address and “ we are the house with a pink door and a tall flag pole. I drove around that super sketch neighborhood for almost an hour before saying screw this and going to a hotel. What 3 words could have saved me $$ and a lot of headache I love the concept..Version: 4.1

ManieVery accurate. I can now see why this app is an app everyone should have. No one knows when they will need it. Well done. Will save lives..Version: 4.19

Good idea but interface needs a bit of work. The idea and technology behind this is a great idea. But after testing it today I found it lacking when trying to find the car I'd parked. I stored the location of the car, great, easy, done. But when using the apps compass pointer to locate the car on the way back it leaves you uneasy it has the distance to location as a tiny figure in the top right corner. So small I didn't even notice it until I finally found the car. Rework this feature please by moving the compass pointer higher up the screen and placing the distance to location below in larger obvious font and you've got a genuinely useful location tool. Bit obvious really..Version: 4.18

Anup’s Review.Brilliant. Everyone should use it. It has totally changed the way I navigate..Version: 4.22.1

Love the What3words CompassWell done. Wish this w3w compass had been available earlier. Would have saved me getting lost using maps overseas.Version: 4.21

The best location app ever! How many of you have relied on your GPS to send you to a venue or an event only to find that you’ve ended up in a cornfield opposite where you should’ve been. Well this app solves that problem not only for locating an event or a place you may want to go, but more importantly if you’re lost on a hike or simply lost anywhere, this app will tell authorities exactly where you are and also notify those folks that you put in the app of your location. A fantastic idea now brought to the world for free! Don’t be caught without it..Version: 4.20

We owe this app everything! My partner was driving his hgv on a duel carriage way, when he started to lose his eyesight, he managed to pull over safely but was deteriorating quickly, suffering from a stroke. He couldn’t see well but managed to call the emergency services but couldn’t tell them exactly where he was. luckily he had the app and was able to open it and the ambulance was able to reach him in time to save him from having a massive stroke. If it wasn’t for his quick thinking to call 999 and this app things would have been life changing for him and our family. Everyone needs to download it… it’s life saving..Version: 4.9

Getting friends to fallow.I’m always telling friends that the best location Finder is What 3 Words. Is it working for them ? I don’t know and always forget to ask them again. I must admit that we’re very happy with the app.Version: 4.25

Must have!!!I cannot thank what3words enough. I did not have a sat nav and my maps on my phone stopped working. The floods were horrendous and I could not find a route home as lots of routes were blocked with flooding. My partner told me to to go onto “what3words” and send him my location and he could come and get me in a better car. This was the first time I had used this. It was so simple to use and yet so useful in getting me out of a sticky situation! I’d probably still be stuck if it wasn’t for what3words! A definite must have!!!❤️👏🏼🙏🏼.Version: 4.7.2

First useSo far this is very intriguing. It could be a lot of fun as well as very useful..Version: 4.23.1

Wonderful app. Wonderful lists!!! Wonderful idea!!!The app allows you to create lists that you can share and see on a map. Specific lists and distances from your current location. Wonderful idea as well to help find exactly where you are!!! Thank you!!! Many great ideas and awesome app developers!!! Find your designation and multiple ways to navigate using all the best nav apps. Way to be a team player!!! My go to app for where I’ve been, where I want to go, and what I want to share!!!.Version: 4.24.1

Every one can use thisThis app and technology are too cool and too important to not know about. I went on a new hike today and it was not in an area easy to give directions.. I arrived first and shared my three words with friends. They found me easily. Also have used it when I park my car in an unfamiliar location. Going bike riding , I send my husband the exact spot to bring a picnic when he is traveling by car. I love this app..Version: 4.10.1

Great AppBrilliant idea… showed a friend of mine who was determined to prove google maps was better and I was able to convince him that this was more user friendly and he changed over to this…. Shared with all my contacts …..Version: 4.14.3

Download now!!Thank you so much! I can’t thank this app enough! I downloaded this app a moth or so ago as I thought it could come in handy if I got into trouble whilst out walking my dogs around the fields behind my house. Luckily I did as I was out for a walk with my mum one evening when she fell over and broke her ankle. We were in the middle of no where and it was getting dark! It would have been very difficult to describe our location to 999 without this app! When I used the 3 words for my location the operator knew exactly where we were and the paramedics found us easily. Thank you so much again! Anyone reading this please download this app, it could seriously help..Version: 4.6.1
