✓ Scammers used on meI was scammed last Tuesday, they asked me to download it pretending that it was checking the internet speed but it was probably checking my phone or looking what i was doing. It looked as if it was doing just that showing some increasing percentages on the screen. There should be some warning when downloading that it should only be done with known and trusted other users..Version: 15.32.1
✓ Scams!!!Im kinda dumb ngl but I didn’t double check the Apple support website since I haven’t really used it that much. Anyway I clicked on the number and it called and it didn’t give me a robot at first like it normally did but I was like oh well, then this guy with an Indian accent answered and spoke like an Apple customer service employee would so i was like nah it’s fine and like while he was telling me what to do I was like he’s probably a scammer but I felt like I was being racist because I mostly based that over his accent and I was like omg stop and then so I listened and I stopped right as the app downloaded onto my phone but I didn’t use it or anything I just hung up. Anyway, this gets used by scammers so don’t use it if you get told to by some Apple support company or whatever, can’t believe I almost fell for it but oh well..Version: 15.10.2

✓ Beware this was used by a PayPal scamI called what I thought was a PayPal number regarding unauthorized charges in my PayPal account. They had me download this and then got access to mirroring my phone while I transferred money to them from my bank account!! So they saw it all. I had to close all my accounts etc and I don’t know if this leaves a marker in your phone to continue monitoring it. I got an email from PayPal trying to confirm a purchase for a $500 Iwatch that I did not order. The email had a tech support number to call if you need to cancel and refund or check on the purchase. ✓ Not workingSo, I tried to help my mother and my father remotely. They are not living together anymore and quite far to reach. I was so happy when I saw that TeamViewer was now able to share screens on iOS, because they always need some IT help every now and then. The issue I have with this app is that even after they gave me their code to share the screen, I was not able to see what was on their screen. Both my parents are technologically inclined and they manage to activate screen recording in control Center, use the drop down menu and select TeamViewer. I just saw a spinning wheel going on for ever. It took me about 20 minutes to get them to download the app and do the manipulation. I was unable to help them on 2 different occasions. After trying it on both my phone and then later trying to “support” my parents I can easily say that this is a worthless app. It is WAY TOO HARD to get working and impossible for non tech savvy people who are going to have to put this on their phone to get help. Devs need to imagine trying to help their grandma instead of someone who is already technically inclined and wouldn’t be asking for help anyway. The correct sequence of events: 1. I text the user a link which loads up the App Store with the correct product. 2. They download and open the app. Any approvals are one simple yes or no button to authorize access. 3. They read me their id number - NOTHING ELSE SHOULD BE SHOWN ON THIS PAGES. 4. I type in their id and press connect. 5. Done That is it. Videos going in and out of settings and lots of info is just a PITA. I ended up giving up on helping my parents after 40 mins watching them through FaceTime trying to get this app to work. When I called they asked me to download this app so they can help me get into my bank account to give me the money back into my account that was over charged for one of my Lyft rides. When I was speaking to this fast talking scam artist he told me it had to be a big time bank not just a banking app like Current which the charge was placed on through my apple. Once they told me it doesn’t matter if it is mine or someone else’s account I knew something was up. I turned off the screen recording and hung up they called back to back until I blocked their number from calling my phone. ✓ Scammers are using this appFair enough this isn’t your fault but I’ve downgraded my review as I can see you are not trying to warn people and I think you have an ethical responsibility to do so. Many people are only getting saved by reviews. That’s not adequate. The app is good but my review is about your lack of action on this. It’s no good having help sections to go to, something needs to alert people from the outset. I was contacted today by a person with a Nigerian accent claiming to be from virgin media and trying to access my device using this app. Luckily I realised it was a scam as there were too many red flags, such as my device and Virgin not being on same network. I downloaded the app but didn’t go no further or give access. However, some people will fall for it. I realise this is not the fault of the app developer, but it is a known issue and there’s a moral duty of care to consumers who use this app. Something should be done to warn people when they download it. The company has a responsibility to do that at least. I’ve seen 02 issue warnings via text when scammers try at access stuff, that saved me. It would be good if you did the same, such as put a pop up or banner or words on a first photo to alert people at the point of installation. I saw nothing to alert me but you could easily implement something when this is a known problem and you have a responsibility to try and do something about the misuse of the app you’ve created..Version: 15.41.1
✓ This was a scamI did not want to give it any stars at all. It was a long process beginning with asking if I would like to cancel my Amazon account and did I wish it refunded. They said it was a one-month trial membership and I was now in the second month where the $39.99 had been taken. I later checked after I hung up and I pay annually and it’s not due for another five months. Woman who initially wanted to know if I wanted a refund walked me through a process where a time counter began to start and I think that was a keylogger. She then transferred me to her “supervisor“ and he wanted to know my banking information and if I was an Amazon user. At that point I canceled what I thought was the keylogger so that the timer stopped and I connected to my IP vanish account. ✓ BEWARE of Scammers!Like other reviewers, I also received a Robo call claiming to be from PayPal. Nothing about it felt right, starting with the hold music! The customer service rep informed me I had two charges for $500 and $900 that had been made in the past day. (Google Play gift card and a bike shop in CO). I declined to authorize the payments. The service rep then said he needed to pass me onto security to complete the claim, but that I needed to download this app to work with them. ✓ Gateway to a scam - just say no!Like many others, I had a very convincing call, in my case from an overseas call centre masquerading as Sky broadband technical support. According to them my broadband was being hijacked and they could help me to work through a technical reconfiguration to combat it - for which I needed this app. I saw some of the reviews like this one and eventually shut down the call without giving them any information - and urge others to do the same. ✓ Used to scamI too was fooled into using this by someone who claimed they were Virgin trying to speed up my internet. Alarm bells rang when I was asked to go in to my banking app and make a dummy payment! I said I was not comfortable with that and he started to get really shirty. I put the phone down and he called back and my husband spoke to him and told him to do one. Don’t be conned into this..Version: 15.28.1
