I expected a similar game, possibly running out of ideas or content but, if it was anything like the first, would be worth it. I was wrong.. The second instalment is considerably better than the first! It's gameplay is the same, the content is far more in depth and the challenge and story are great. The graphics and interaction are second to none. Beautifully pulled together to create a stunning visual and seem less playability. Really enjoyable game. This is brilliant!! ✓ So much fun!I love the Room series! I have only played two so far and really looking forward to Room Three! If you are a DaVinci fan you will love this. Puzzles are not too hard but not too easy. No glitches or gotchas. All the solutions make sense. Some new tricks here I have not seen before as far as puzzles and that’s saying a LOT as I have played a ton of these type of games. The graphics are stunning and sound effects and music are top notch. The one suggestion I would have is that it might be fun to interact with more objects in the room and less focus on “boxes”. ✓ Great puzzle / escape titleOne and two of this series are great. I’m very picky about my puzzles / escape rooms. For one, artwork is 10/10. Two, love the creepy feel/vibe, but not trying to hard. Three, although there is story and some “letters” or other correspondence present, it’s not required in nearly every instance. Though don’t completely ignore them! They might have a secret hint (but it’ll be fairly obvious). I’ve played this through twice now and both times enjoyed it just as much. Challenging enough to make to scratch your head, but also clear enough where you can suddenly see things line up and get that satisfaction factor. 10/10. Though I almost wish it were longer just so I could play endlessly! NOTE: Turn off Cloud Drive saves (Settings > Apple ID > iCould > Room Two (switch off)… it caused issues with the game resetting my progress. Unfortunate bug. Not sure if it’s fixed by now. ✓ Hooked for life.I stumbled across The Room and after complete that immediately downloaded The Room 2. They are both absolute masterpieces. I would recommend spacing them out though as I am disappointed in how quickly I completed the second game compared to the second. ✓ Just like the first, but with bugsIt has the same feeling as the first game (The Room), but I encountered some bugs. The most prominent one was where it kept updating my game save from the cloud and would force me to go to the main menu. When I got back in, I was only a step behind so it wasn't annoying by itself, but is extremely frustrating when it happens multiple times. Also, it felt a little shorter than the first game. Those are the main two reason I gave it a 4. Otherwise it would be a 5 if there wasn't bugs d it was longer for the amount I payed. ✓ For being a small indie company, I must say, well done!The very intuitive controls made the game a very nice play, while the steampunk story with an amazing touch of macabre helped the great and amazing atmosphere settle over the sleek graphics. For only 99 cents, its a must buy for anyone who can appreciate puzzles that make a chill run up your spine. The only thing that I thought could have had some more work, was the outside scene, where you only have to get a crank. It had some excellent subtle scares, but I felt that we could have had the opportunity to unlock the door by doing some puzzles. Solitaire doesn’t do it and neither does majong and then I found “The Room” and then the second version Room Two. ✓ Just Amazing!!!I just can't say enough about this game!!! I wish it was something that you can find on Xbox, PlayStation, or the Wii. I try really hard to not use the hints and make my way around the room by myself. The puzzles are challenging and yet not impossible to get through. The only thing that could be worked on would be the storyline. I'm really not sure what it is all about so I don't pay a lot of attention to it. My advice to the makers is to work on the storyline somewhat like Hidden Mystery Secret Society game. The rooms and graphics are so good and I'm on my way to room 3. The puzzles are difficult enough to keep you enthralled yet not so difficult as to encourage you to surrender. The graphics are nothing short of brilliant and were incredibly smooth when moving around inside the game, the detail was very fine. If I have any criticism, it would be the zooming in and zooming out to look at objects or to carry out actions. I think tapping the screen to zoom in is great but having to pinch for zooming out is a real pain and quite frustrating at times. ✓ Still great, but....I purchased this addition after finishing the first version, this still is as absorbing with some great puzzles and levels, however it’s lost a star because the fifth level was just a very simple, one puzzle level (over in 2 mins), considering the whole game has only 6 levels and doesn’t take too long to complete, I felt a bit cheated. The game price is 3x that of the first, with one less level!!! I notice the next instalment of the game has increased in price yet again and I’m wondering what corners the developers have cut on this version!!! ✓ Overall Great just a couple of things!This puzzle game is overall really well done! There could be some changes though for example the flashing when your at the last step to complete a stage you have to make a symbol out of these red crystals in the process of doing so, you will have to angle it to match the symbol and while your doing that, the symbol flashes a bright red and when your completed with that, there is glitching of rooms (since there are different chapters) another thing I would like to point out are the hints. The hints don’t really have a “clue” on what there doing for example: if I had a key and I had to unlock it the hint will just say “maybe the key is the most important thing right now and matches with something” it doesn't help until you get to the last hint. More and new solving experiences make this chapter even more immersive than the previous. ✓ AmazingI recently learned from a friend that the supposed Escape Room fad that I’ve been obsessed with participating in was actually based on these games and I’ve been hooked ever since. They’re worth the money and you don’t have to leave your house to play nor do you have to worry about your friends distracting you. I haven’t played the later versions as I’ve just started so maybe they’ve added it but it would be nice if there was a way to play a timed version and even connect with friends to compare times or get a hint from a friend. ✓ Great puzzler!I love this game and its prequel. Gorgeous graphics and immersive soundtrack really sets the scene. Storyline is well written and ties all the puzzle rooms together. As a fan of puzzle boxes, I love the individual puzzles within the room and how they are put together. They are designed incredibly well and really make you think in order to solve it. This game differs from the original in that there are different areas in each room. This requires you to solve puzzles in each area and then use the clues/items in other parts of the room to progress. I will definitely purchase the next instalment of this series! Well done guys. I keep getting a “ Failed to download saved data. Please check your internet connection” I am on my home network, on wifi. I restarted me iPad, deleted the game and reinstalled, then logged out of game center and logged back in. I played the game from the beginning on my iPad, and then went back to playing on my phone, and received the same error message on my phone this time. I tried everything. If it would just sync so I can play on a bigger screen, I would give it a solid 5 stars. ✓ Mind Boggling Clues And Puzzles !I finally escaped! I am 61 and The Room and now The Room II have been my favorite iPad games. The graphics are amazing, and that is an understatement. This game will test your ability to observe, memory, deductive reasoning, math skills, dexterity and a bit of entomology. It might even test your patience. When a piece of the puzzle is solved and the room spins around to reveal a new box or cabinet or insect on the wall, prepare for tachycardia and palpitations lol. At times I was grateful for the help available by clicking the “?” in the upper left hand corner. I was also glad that the clues given there were not the answer, but additional information to help me find the next solution. I recommend new players check each puzzle with their infrared Lens on the right of the screen. Scan all around the room once in a while. ✓ Mind Blowing!First off, this game is amazing. It has wonderful, detailed graphics - some of the best I’ve seen. Unlike a lot of the games on the market these days The Room isn’t one of those mindless brain-destroying games. It requires you to approach the situation from different angles and analyze things, figure them out like clues to solve a puzzle of sorts. The game isn’t very violent, but it can be creepy. The setting is kinda gloomy and ominous, and most of the artifacts are old as most were made in the 1800s. I personally think it makes the game really cool, but I would advise against having smaller children play it. I would say ages 9+. ✓ Onward !I played 'The Room' several years ago and thought that it was very good. I have played many puzzle games on my various pcs, Myst, Seventh Guest etc. So was pleased with The Room. ✓ A dream (nightmare?) come true!I consider myself a computer graphics pioneer, when 3D rendering took hours to compute at low resolution on hardware in the $10Ks. Here I am today, weathering the 2020 pandemic, escaping to play The Room series on my iPad Air, which I bought two months ago to Facetime and see photos of my grandson. Doing that too, but this game series helps escape the madness of our crisis. It is so well done, superb graphics, and incredible thought put into the mechanical puzzles. I loved the Myst and Riven series way back when, and this is in a similar vein. My only raised eyebrow is in the various notes strewn about... grammatically correct, but very non-sensical...but then again, that may to underline that the character we are following went mad. Oh, and did I say this game is addictive? Very!!! I spaced out the maximum chapters played daily...didn’t want this ultimate escape to come to an end. Before apps were this sophisticated, I used to pay $20 for similar computer games (RIP Nancy Drew/Her Interactive) with much lower quality graphics and fewer interactive puzzles. These games are definitely geared more towards an older user (probably 14+ but I’m 25 and enjoyed it thoroughly) just based on the level of difficulty and the content (thriller but not really gory or horror content). This one felt a little easier than the first one--much more "get a specific object that will be obvious how it is used, then go use it and get another one etc" but it is still beautiful and amazingly immersive given that I played it on my tiny phone!! Definitely more atmospherically creepy/haunting than the first one but I wouldn't characterize it as SCARY per se (and I am a big wuss when it comes to horror so if it's not scary for me it's probably not scary for most). Honestly, the stories are great, every other detail is gorgeous, but the actual writing in it is off. Like every game I can remember, they get stuck on having a few words they want to work in and don’t care if they’re misused or don’t make sense. “Needs must when the devil drives,” for example. Not “as,” but “when.” “...ever more elaborate arrangements,” not “elaborated.” It’s little stuff, but it’d be so easy to fix. An hour or two, at most. When you are so close to perfection, why not just get someone to look it over? It’s really a small thing and an easy fix, but it can undermine everything, especially in a game trading on subtlety. I appreciate the work that has been put into these games and agree that they are worth the little but of money. There are multiple levels, each with a different theme that ties into the overall story. The maneuverability is simple and easy to pick up, which makes getting started a breeze. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible and the hints have just enough information without giving too much away and making the game too easy. Some similar games are just so poorly constructed that it isn’t the puzzle that is hard, but knowing what areas you can actually access by randomly tapping all over the screen and hoping something is selectable. ✓ Great game....butI really enjoyed playing The Room 2, especially since I completed the first game in about an hour! I am playing on a brand new iPad Pro 128gb so there is absolutely no issue with the graphics, and the sound is incredible! As a composing musician, this is enough for me to carry on downloading the entire series, great for inspiration as well as enjoying the way the audio is mapped across the game (special kudos to the sound team, excellent job) Unfortunately there is a however.... As I stated there shouldn't be any issue with the iPad pro however on the last section of the game I was stuck for almost an hour due to an issue with the tracking and movement of some sort in the lens/laser puzzle (I don't want to give anything away, devs will know where I mean) basically, I could not move the screen and when entering the eyepiece my screen would flicker and slowly blackout before returning to normal in the main room. I actually think thought this was part of the game at first! I consulted the help section on the website however the best reply was "turn off then on again". Personally, for a paid app, a known issue like this shouldn't be left while a new game is developed...for anyone else encountering the same problem, I found that rotating the screen sometimes works?!
