Cool drum samplerAwesome classic look and feel and easy to use and has tons of built in sounds !.Version: 1.4.7

AKAI MPC 4 iPHONEHey all, as u can see I'm the first to write a review, my thoughts on the app are that is very nicely created, is very functional and rather easy to use, thank you AKAI PRO :).Version: 1.0

Best $3 I've ever spentI own an mpc 2000xl and the production feel of this app is familiar but different. The turntable mode is cool. This app is not a fully featured DAW but if you are sitting at a bus stop or waiting for some tacos this will absolutely keep you entertained. This app is versatile enough I could see myself plugging my phone into my dj rig. If you are serious about your production you will spend more than a few bucks on an app and think you're the next amp live but for what it does impc is totally worth it..Version: 1.4.3

Amazing AppThank you so much for updating! I use this to make beats when I'm on the road all the time. it's still not easy to swipe sideways for different menus (it only works when I use my pointer finger and drag the tiny area that has hatch marks specifically), if this function were made easier it would be much easier to navigate the menus. thanks again for this amazing tool of creativity!.Version: 1.4.6

AmazingJust a grate app over all.Version: 1.0

Amazing app but a big bugI love Akai and all there products but half way making a beat I closes the whole app down. Please Akai and Apple sort this problem out it will really help my workflow.Version: 1.1

Great app, just needs some updates!App continually crashed after trying to play a particular sequence which I had accidentally changed from 4 bars to 0, just thought I should mention that. Also, this app needs more FX, the delay and bitcrusher are great, but a reverb or an EQ would be sex! The compressor is always on for all tracks which doesn't always sound good, it's also missing some pretty standard controls (Ratio, attack, threshold, knee, etc.) As much as I hate to say it, this app could use a keyboard performance option. That said, this app has easily the best looking interface I've seen, and has been my favorite app since iMaschine. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.0

Read the manual !!!I've not played the physical MPC units, so can't comment on how accurate this is. But I've been very impressed with how easy it is layer some good tracks..Version: 1.2

I don't get that , must be your device! We'll I'm not quite sure what's going on with the other reviewers devices but this app has never crashed or malfunctioned for me! I love this app even though it's not as complex as other software . Actually it's its simplicity that is one of its strengths. It's an MPC emulation after all and a great one at that! I believe the sounds are awesome and there are a lot included that cover a fair range of electric based styles to choose from. You can use your own samples aswell obviously if you are serious about making your own original tracks. I can't think of anything negative to say about it so I'll conclude with stating that if your looking for a great beat maker or sampling sequencer emulating a legendary bit of hardware then I'd certainly recommend this!!! It's not a complete studio and it doesnt claim to be either. Great work!.Version: 1.1

IPod drum machine = needs song mode(oops! hadn't finished my review) 'Live queuing' of sequences is fine if you have spare hands/band member, but how about a semi drum machine semi Live mode where you: Drag sequences to pads and set number of loops before moving to the next pad Hold 2 pads to set A->B points, again specifying number of loops Then whilst playing back, can tap pads to reset the next queued sequence/move around the arrangement, with 'loop counts' (both individual pads and A->B) maintained, so will continue while you move to one of the performance modes to Live mix or improv overdub beats. Syncing to other apps would also be great; hoping iOS 7 will provide audio integration with other apps if no audiobus. I'd started a review which got accidentally submitted, but basically with the 4 tracks, fun sounds and effects this app can quickly make LOUD, 'into the red' beats and sequences, and for me was an enjoyable new way to play (what is referred to as 'the MPC workflow' I think). Looking forward to importing my own samples, maybe a way to mess with stuff I've created in Garageband… with decent drums this time.Version: 1.0

Cheap as chipsFor £1.99 can't really complain..Version: 1.0

Needs AudioBus compatibilityWhat's stopping this app from being a great app? 1. AudioBus. ADD THIS. NOW!!! I can't explain how disappointed I was when I bought AudioBus to discover I could use all of my apps, except for this one. This was a huge blow and a setback. 2. Song Mode Tracks, progs, and seqs are cool and are all present as they should be, but no Song Mode. It makes it extremely hard to organize everything and/or make complete tracks ready to go. 3. Better editing. 4. Really needs better touch response. I find myself full of anxiety trying to rename things or add new tracks/kits. 4. Import folders. iTunes forces you to import sounds individually. I just want to drop folders in so my drum kits can be organized. I don't want a giant list of sounds to browse thru, it's just counterproductive. There's a ton of bugs, glitches and app breaking hiccups. So much potential I hope you guys don't let it go to waste. Fix these things and you will have a five star app that will satisfy all music makers and otherwise..Version: 1.1

OVerall decent appA thoughtful app with design quirks that actually make a lot of sense from a performance standpoint. (Check out the genius of the beat repeat switch). Over all as a whole through design the app has shown it's true nature as an innovation. It sounds good too especially once you mess with the compressor What I would like to see: Ability to choose the amount of pads: (the mpc 500 had 12 pads so I don't think 16 needs to be a lock in exchange for performance comfort) An option to turn off the recording click If individual pad pitch could be changed for right from 16 levels function instead of needing to reload samples and repitch them An undo function on all effects A tray that slides down from the top that takes you directly to the pads (maybe to make menu dives easier by giving a quick way straight to the performance spot I'm thoroughly surprised by this app and excited to watch it evolve the range of it's workflow.Version: 1.4.3

GoodIm really liking it! Only downfall is it crashes occasionally & always crashes when I try sharing my sequence to soundcloud. Overall my favourite beat making app so far for iPhone..Version: 1.0

ProblemThe new iOS 9.0 update isn't making this app work.Version: 1.4.1

The Original. The Best. Awesome.I've always wanted an MPC. Now I've one in my pocket, can use it anytime I want... The Akai MPC's were the originals and the best. This iMPC is simply amazing. Download it, make tracks, have fun, it's downright awesome! Legendary!.Version: 1.0

I really really wish they put a note pad sequenceI make a beat.. It's dope.. But then I have to leave the app (which causes the music to stop) because I want to write to it in the notepad.. Or find the paper That I was writing on to continue which I don't really want to do.. Throws me off from writing to the beat initially.. If there was a notepad assigned to every sequence.. That would be so dope.. I wouldn't have to figure where my raps are because I specifically wrote to that sequence.. I don't know about making apps but I figure that would be too tough to add in there.Version: 1.4.2

IBook tutorial should be doneSeems very Nice..but for people not familiar with This samplers it might Get confusing at the first sight..Version: 1.0

GreatHas potential to be the best drum machine out there! Need to update for minor sound bugs, and rare crashes. Awesome sound presets. Has already earned permanent spot on my iphone..Version: 1.0

Good but needs improvementBrilliant app, but ...... was flying along creating sequences and all of a sudden a load of my sequences disappeared and others were moved , disappointing as about 3 hours of work was lost ., still a brilliant App obviously not as good as the iPad version but still very good..Version: 1.4.1

Useful and fun in so many waysWith impc I was able to show my son, he is 9 and has developed an interest in making music, how you can sample various instruments and create kits that can be used to make beats. It was a really cool experience and impc made it really easy to demonstrate the process for him. I was going to rate this four stars just for the fact that I couldn't figure out how to delete my unwanted samples. After emailing the retronyms team they showed me how to do it and it's not difficult, it could be easier but it's not too bad. I'm glad I bought this app. It's fun, functions well, and the fact that it helped me teach my kid something to keep him interested in music is just awesome..Version: 1.4.5

Crashes figured out!!Ok first of ... this is a fun app but it is limited. But for the price... I am happy. This app never crashed on me (owned 2years) until I recently tried to upload a beat to sound cloud. Now it crashes unless I turn off all internet activity ... cellphone data or wifi. Maybe the developers will read this and check into it. I do sound production for SunSlice records and this a fun bus stop or restaurant pass time. I have made some interesting beats by digging into the self sampling and delays. It not the most intuitive but neither is the MPCs it's mimicking. I think anybody expecting something more for $3 may be busting the developers balls a bit here. They give you plenty for what it is. I do like. I own the iPad version too which is more robust. But if you dig a bit ... you can make some pretty decent beats with this app. Sincerely Craig Steven SunSlice Records.Version: 1.4.3

Amazing appWhat a Great app is all I can say.Version: 1.1

Great AppI love this app. It works great..Version: 1.4.7

ExcellentA faithful very detailed recreation of the original, fun and basically a pretty amazing achievement. Nice!!.Version: 1.0

GreatI'd heard some bad reviews about this app, so I was a little hesitant. However, glad I got it. Really great. Solid work flow. Perfect for live jamming etc. Sure, there are better editors and DAWs out there, but that isn't what this is trying to do..! Recommended..Version: 1.0

Good (but needs improving) :-)A good app that lets you create beats on a virtual mpc. Thanks to the retronym YT staff who helped me figure out chopping samples across the pads (it can be done, just takes longer) There are however some bits that need adding & fixing: The chop sample function would be nice to have, assigned to X amount of pads for an auto split. Plus more options for the actual slices of samples, not just vol & tone. Something to take out higher/lower stuff would be nice. As another reviewer said, it'd be good to have a song mode where you could link the sequences up to listen to it all. I know you can export to GarageBand to do this but had an issue with it. Ability to sample from YouTube etc would be good. Pinch to zoom wavelength area There are 2 bits that need looking at; When I export to the audioclip app, it adds extra space on the track, so when it's added to GB it does the same. So a 8 bar becomes 9 or 10 bar (eg). A direct paste from impc to GB would be great & probably bypass audioclip's problem. There is something causing a crash on the sample edit area (the one with the single pad & save to certain group) & it's happening a lot. I just save now before I go there, but it needs fixing. (It occurs when you press a sample on pad, go to edit it, & seems to crash if button is pressed during the sample that's playing) (On iPhone 4S latest OS).Version: 1.4.1

Please fix this. I need you to, very badly.I love this app i really do man but the app keeps crashing and deleting sounds off beats. Please update (more often) bc the last one didn’t help at all. I don’t want to lose all of my work bc of a faulty app. :/ i know y’all can do better.Version: 1.4.6

What do you expect? There are a few reviews that compare this to the original, of course it's not! This is an app you use whilst killing time and has the potential to yield results. If you're buying this as a replacement to your 2000xl you're a silly duffer..Version: 1.1

Help!!My app keeps crashing every time I go to share a file what do I do?! Love the app tho top notch.Version: 1.4.1

IMPC dopeness game changerIt’s dope has changed the game with regard to making whilst on the move. Sampling and chopping beats and the export tool works well as it allows to add layers to through other software. Do expect to get. Straight away most of the guys that use the physical MPc are not doing simple exercises it’s complex and worth it.Version: 1.4.5

Generally GoodAn overall good and useful app with an easy to use interface, and straightforward layout. However, app repeatedly crashes which is very frustrating. Please sort out!.Version: 1.1

Not happyI was really hoping this app would work on my iphone ios 7 but just keeps crashing a few seconds after its opened every time :(.Version: 1.4.3

FandabidozySuper, smashing, great!.Version: 1.0

Dope !Thought having an MPC on iPad was amazing! Now on my phone! Unreal..Version: 1.0

Former MPC 1000 ownerBuy this app now!! I spent $1250 on my MPC and extended RAM and im actually happier with the iPhone version for 2.99 if you have ever dreamed of making music this is a great way to see if u have the will power and skills to succeed at a fraction of the cost. A lot of people buy MPCs and don't even know how to use them. The sounds that come with this app are actually cutting edge and better than my dated synths. I can just bust out and play live drum pads while I wait for my gf to get out of work. Go buy it you will be happy you did. It's only 2.99 stop being cheap.Version: 1.0

An awesome addition to iPhone Beatmaking! This app really is awesome. It inherits all of the powerful iPad features and gains it's own unique feature called 3D Perform Mode. This uses the iPhone's gyroscope to allow you to manipulate parameters my tilting your phone. It does loose the classic Akai kit found on the iPad making it half the size. If they want 5 stars retronyms need to add Audiobus support badly! Please listen to your users Retronyms :).Version: 1.0

Perfect sampler5 stars.Version: 1.4.7

Well it works in 2022Review said no sound it’s got sound seems to be fully working. Like the old school akai flavor so 5 stars..Version: 1.4.7

A little buggy but awesomely powerfulThis app is fantastic, it may have a few bugs but once you know what they are they're easy enough to work around. I've put together about 15 tracks with this app involved and I must say it holds up pretty well against real gear..Version: 1.4.2

MPC on iPhoneGreat app! Amazing being able to sketch out a beat on phone and then export to renaissance for further work. Requests - needs to be able to chop sample and apply slices to pads, also it would be great if impc continued to play in background while using other apps so I can write lyrics in notepad on phone with the beat still playing. Or even better add a notebook function to impc?.Version: 1.0

MPCBest app ever........Version: 1.0

Needs More GuidanceI love the sounds on this app and it’s been pretty cool so far. I would however though want you guys to let us be able to send the loops we make to ourselves whether it be through email, messaging , etc. I’ve found it really hard to send drum loops I’ve made to myself and since i play guitar on FL (don’t have the things to record on my phone) i need to be able to send the loops from this app to my hard drive or Dropbox. Please make it compatible with newer apps and things such as email, iMessage, etc..Version: 1.4.5

Endless Beat Making!!Sweet samples, kits and effects!! Best beat maker for the iPhone! Easy to use!! Highly recommend it!! Better than iMaschine!!.Version: 1.0

UnrealFinally I can take my beats anywhere! Great port of the ipad version. Love it..Version: 1.0
