✓ CrashingI purchased the pro… and now the app is crashing every single time I use it. It is great otherwise, but I’ve updated and ensured latest version but appears to have a bug or something..Version: 5.51
✓ Many bugs, crashes oftenThis app has the best features for modifying photographs, but it simply doesn’t work. For example, it shows thumbnails to select photos from your photo library, but if you select a thumbnail, it will often choose a different photo from your library. Usually you need to click one thumbnail behind the photo you want to get the right one to come up. The projects will often white screen and when you try to save your final product, the result will simply be white screen. The program often completely crashes and I am repeatedly turning my phone off and in to get the app to work even for just a little while. A big disappointment and waste of time, unfortunately..Version: 3.11

✓ Pretty goodI have enjoyed the new update with the new improvements and features and the app is fantastic overall. However I found some issues when using the app, when selecting all layers you have made, you cannot make all the layers smaller or larger at the same time as it is time consuming and annoying to make the layer smaller and larger individually. Also it would be great if you could delete fonts you have downloaded. Please fix these issues and the app would be amazing. Thank you!.Version: 2.03
✓ Has potentialThis app has potential - but right now is so frustrating to use that I've given up after my first 15 minutes - so a waste of money until it improves. Simple actions like zooming out were unreliable / hard to repeat, and it wasn't intuitive to figure out how to do certain things like change a font after I had created a text layer. ✓ Purchased the Pro Version Years AgoYears ago, I downloaded the free version of this app. I liked it, but it stamped my photos with a watermark that I didn’t want, so I purchased and downloaded the pro version (this app) to get that removed, plus some more advanced editing features. I liked it for the occasional intermediate editing of photos I wanted to do on my phone. Now, though, I go into the app to do a little editing, and it won’t let me do any of the things I used to be able to do and says I don’t have the “Pro” version. I tried restoring purchases, but it just tells me my subscription has expired. I never had a subscription; I made a one-time purchase of an app for a small fee, which was worth it for the very limited amount of editing I do on my phone. Now, it seems to be worthless. ✓ App owners are crooksThis app is good except when the developers keep screwing the customer on the ‘pro’ version. I bought the pro upgrade a few months ago and suddenly I don’t have access unless I subscribe to the yearly pro paying for the whole year or monthly now. ✓ Monthly subscriptions - not worth itThe app has a lot of fun features but to use the majority of them, you have to subscribe. Monthly cost is like five bucks or so but will you ever use it that much in a month? Doubtful. They would do better to add the fees onto the templates themselves as packages like every other similar app online does. ✓ Nice appNow, i would consider buying this app. Just updated and they have added a very reasonable yearly rate. A lot of apps are going subscription with such a mediocre choice of options that one wonders if they are seeing the same things I am. DesignLab offers up so much me for free, so I really thought about actually buying it but it was still too expensive when you look at what you would be shelling out in the long run, and then to top it off if you cancel you are left with nothing. ✓ Good app, but needs some improvements!I recently migrated from Over to DesignLab and gotta say it: I absolutely love it – the possibility to import fonts, the shapes, the gradient tool, etc; but there are some things that need to be fixed... urgently. First: bugs in the saving process. On Over or other apps, if you close them while editing, you’re gonna be able to get back from exactly where u left off. Unfortunately that doesn’t happen on DesignLab — in which I have to make sure that I locked all layers before “ending and edit” that I wanna get back to later. Second: the inability to zoom in while editing. I used to do that while using other apps and that really helps me with precision and details, so I really do think that it’d be a good thing to have in DesignLab. Third: the app crashes whenever I type “vector” on the web media search. Suggestion: maybe implement a tool for making wavy curves? That’d save a lot of time — right now, I have to make two or more text layers and curve them in opposite directions. That’s it. I really like your app and thank you for the amazing work you’ve done so far. Hope to hear back from you soon. PS: I personally think the first and second points are more urgent..Version: 5.13
✓ DisappointedPurchased this app before it was updated to a subscription service. Now the extras/bonus content has been removed. Many apps are going this route from what I have seen. Still a balance needs to be found between users that have paid and new content/features that are added when apps are updated. Switching to a more industry used app like Photoshop. The onus now falls on the creators of apps like this to make it worth it to switch to their app for a monthly fee. Pay Adobe or pay the creators of this app and others of its ilk the decision is now up to the current users and people considering downloading this app. Which app will give you the most bang for your money via a subscription service?.Version: 3.21

Now that i can’t use more then half of the font what’s the point. It lags. It won’t let me use futures properly and killed so much of my time at some points. It’s not worth it to pay money to get that much lags and if you don’t pay you get very little options. ✓ Super glitchyThis app works intermittently. When it’s functional, it’s really good. But it crashes often and simply won’t open at other times. The majority of the problems started when they started charging more for the app a while back. It used to be pretty solid when it was cheaper. Now I often finding myself deleting the app and redownloading it as that’s the only thing that (temporarily) fixes it and makes it useable again. Then it changed to Designlab and they added in templates and other features, and it took time but I re-taught myself how to use it. But where did the frame option go? Super disappointing! Then today I discover I can’t have more than 8 projects without paying £4.50 PER MONTH. I paid for this app originally so not pleased they’re making people pay for it on a subscription basis. ✓ GLITCHES BEWAREI bought this app because of all the cool features & stickers it has to offer. Very very cool designs, and really easy to use. I wouldn't even bother with this app.I'm a graphic design professional, so I was excited that there was an app that I could create graphics with my images and add cool typography on my iPad. I recently signed up for the free app but had to provide my credit card info. The paid version immediately kicked in. It's pretty basic and disappointing, but since I already paid for it, I kept it on my iPad. I think it was $15 or $29/year with automatic renewal? I just opened it after 4 months to opt out and it's telling me I have to select an additional payment program before I can continue to use it. What a joke! ✓ Forced Upgrade.This is a great app, but it is costly. Loved PicLabHD (paid for upgrade) but my upgrade was removed with the name change to DesignLab (now subscription based). Not only did I lose my original projects and graphics bundles, but they have just also changed the no. of projects allowed from 10, to 8 so they just deleted my most recent 2 projects 😡. I don’t use it enough to justify the subscription cost, especially if they can just delete/change things when they feel like it. No pettiness here, it’s a great app, but there is no security for customers who spend their $$$..Version: 4.05

I recently came back to the app to use it for more edits as I’ve been returning to that style and I find that the app has turned to DesignLab. Not too much of a problem for me initially as I believed it was just a change of layout and design. Then I find that I can’t even erase anymore because it’s a “pro” option. Are you serious? I understand if you need money, but it just isn’t fair to those who paid long ago! At least give me back the erase option and the few designs I had. HOWEVER.....I spent about two hours on this thing, just killing time, on a simple project...despite long lags and sluggish, frustrating editing features. AND THEN, as to REWARD me for my patience and enduring ingenuity (thankfully AFTER exporting my “finished” draft to photos), with ONLY ONE OR TWO SCREEN TAPS—-purely just for the sake of exploring the app—DELETED the product of TWO HOURS’ WORK. Good luck navigating the impossibly gaunt usability of this app. Granted i was in it purely for entertainment, but boy. Really disappointing. It was just WAY TOO EASY to F-up using this app. DO NOT be fooled by the “history” tab. It’s an UNDO TREE. As is the case with time travel, If you touch any action on the list (mind you WITHOUT ANY warning), your work will turn into a pumpkin, i.e. will return to whatever phase of development it was in at the time the action item you deleted was created—even if you (I) did it by accident. My impression is that this app does not support NON DESTRUCTIVE EDITING. Which— I mean, come on. I STRONGLY SUPPORT NON-DESTRUCTIVE EDITING..Version: 4.06
✓ I had it for a long time butIt’s great and I can use it for certain things... but when I want gradient colors or want to change the color the picture goes above the screen where I can’t change the gradient rotation so I can’t change the direction or select it to change the color which is really annoying.. it does this with other things also but I don’t have to tap the picture in any way for that type of thing.. the other is that the picture quality is horrible after I edit it and save it.. I do y know if that’s a pro feature or not but I would just like a better quality photo to save if you can. ✓ UnethicalIt is unethical to make those of us who supported you financially during your early days to pay twice. That is what you are doing by now asking us to take a subscription for what we originally bought. When we buy an app, it is with the understanding that such purchase includes improvements to the app. Therefore, the ethical approach is to grandfather those of us who showed faith in you early, giving you the initial cash flow to grow. I do understand that the “buy once“ approach is not sustainable in the long run. Moving to a subscription model is the correct long-term business decision for all apps, really. However, that should only apply to new users. Your original purchasers took a risk when putting down money on an app in its early stages. Breaking faith with your earliest financial supporters is poor form..Version: 3.20
