✓ Waste of money.There are so few women on this app that unless you can travel hundreds of kilometres in a flash, you will never meet anyone. Easy platform to use but nobody on it. 6 active women in Edmonton if you were thinking of joining… you took money for a subscription to provide a service connecting people and there are no people to connect. ✓ It’s a good app! but could be so much better.Firstly, removing/blocking people DOES NOT WORK. You will continue to see them as soon as you refresh your feed - this needs to be FIXED ASAP. The majority of issues stem from the stark imbalance of men and women - the king of the hill feature is useless. i’ve used it 10 times and the longest i’ve ever remained king of the hill was 5 mins! And roses are often not even seen yet you still pay for them. Side note a good few times i’ve sent roses and been rejected, only to have the girl then like me and tell me it was an accident, so perhaps there is issue with how you accept roses. More filters are needed for sure, a large amount of people on the app are morbidly obese and it takes a long time to find users who arent, it puts me off the app knowing i have to scroll through about 50 profiles to find 5 people who aren’t obese. No hate - but it’s a very real preference a majority of people share that would definitely increase engagement if you could filter for (also works vice versa!). An app that essentially revolves around exterior features , but has no filters for features. You should be able to roughly filter some of your characteristics. Lastly the option to send pictures through a gift should be removed. ✓ Not worth any amount of time or moneyI live in Brooklyn. If this app was going to have some utility anywhere, it would be here. It doesn't. At all. I'm a man in my low 30s, of above average attractiveness, using photos that score highly on an independent photo rating platform, a service I also paid for. I'm creative, I posted intriguing ads along with these high quality photos throughout different times of the day, for a week. I utilized the value-adding features such as "gifts" and "king of the hill", the former of which is an obvious scam to extract as much money as possible from male paying members, as you can be "toppled" by another. You won't let them do that to you, will you? Buy another KOTH. And so on. Anyway, none of this mattered. I got a few low-quality matches, either with people who were disengaged or just not attractive in the least. Several other matches were hundreds or even thousands of miles away. I got the distinct impression that a lot of people use this app for online-only "play". Not my cup of tea. Stick to Tinder. If I use the same photos there and no bio, I have multiple dates lined up in a day or two at the most, and I have the option to hook up with a different person every week or more, if I want to exercise it. ✓ Don’tWhen you open it, this app asks for your email address, then takes you through a signup process. Relatively standard. Then, you reach a screen that asks you to pay. You can’t go any further and if you close that screen it takes you back to the previous screen. No way to the access your ‘profile’ and delete it or remove your email address. I matched with an anonymous girl and she sent me her phone number so I texted it. She sent me a few Bikini pics and immediately just blocked the number. A few days later (today) I received a messages on text with my name address and they sent multiple photos of decapitated people and mangled bodies.. (like cartel photos) They said if I didn’t pay them they were going to find me and kill me and my family.. I went to the sheriffs office and filled out a report but there was nothing they could really do.. so to sum this up, I implore you to please be very careful when matching with these people and this happened on PURE. ✓ Garbage pay to winHaving men pay up front to engage with the app is discriminatory but understandable to weed out the non serious griefers. Pitting men _against each other_ in an unending game of most recent purchaser is King is utter reprehensible - where your ‘reign’ may last microseconds - and users are encouraged to goad other users that they have been topped. Presumably if men wanted that law-of-the-jungle competitive edge to relationships they would go out to clubs. Then you are invited to purchase a ‘gift’ to get the attention of a potential match - you still can’t initiate a chat unless the match allows it (which is where you were before making that purchase). Pointlessly shows profiles hundreds of miles away, while hiding ones that are more manageable distances. Even if you filter by distance the tiers are 10km (probably useful in a large city), 50km (genuinely useful), worldwide (utterly useless when they order the profiles so randomly). It constantly prompts there’s 100+ ‘new’ ads, but it’s just the same twenty or so that you’ve been looking at for the last few weeks just in a slightly different order (so probably the most recent profiles that have opened the app). They contact you, they start saying they want to date you, then they ask to switch platform. When you swap whatsapp for example they start to show their real goal = scam you. Some one send you a suspicious links saying that you need to register in that website if you want date her, other maybe ask you money upfront to sort a date. Or they are escort trying to selling you £250 or more dating, or even cam girls trying to sell you videos or pictures. About 65% will openly show interest in you even if there are no kinks shared between you two just to waste your time and try to get you to be into something that is inherently not at all a kink for you. Even then, in a fit of eagerness last week, I ignored the reviews completely and still signed up anyway. After paying the (overpriced) fee to get a week’s subscription, I instantly reached out to one of the women online. To my surprise, she responded very quickly - and it was soon clear that she wasn’t a bot. ✓ LaughableHad to download this app when it came across my suggestions. It’s hard to imagine any app with a “hookups only” focus succeeding in attracting enough people to actually work. Unfortunately, the developers have the sign-up process arranged so that just before you go online to see who else is out there using the app that you can potentially “hookup” with, a paywall appears and requires you to enter into a paid subscription. They offer a 3 day free trial, which you inconveniently have to cancel 24 hours PRIOR to the period ending or you will be billed. So, you have 48 hours to see if this app works for you, if it works at all. I imagine it’s useless unless you live in a metropolitan area where there is a high-enough concentration of users near you. ✓ You can outsmart the app banI was banned for no reason, however, after conducting an experiment; the app uses biometric data by keeping your photos. When I used a different photo, my account was fine but I think false reports from salty users can cause your account to be banned and shadow banned if you upload the same photo on a new account. I’m currently using the app with a different device, photo and account with no issues so the method for banning accounts is very flawed meanwhile they do not ban users that are breaking the actual rules on a daily basis. ✓ Few Users, and Spam bots from NigeriaI bought a year long subscription drunk one night. I live in London and the closest people come lately is +30 km away, one person at a time. The likelihood that if you matched with someone they were dishonest and spam was really High. (Someone did actually try and con me from Nigeria as if it were 2003) I’d say as much as 95% of late are spam,& Eprostitutes trying to take over this good concept. There was a time they offered „king of the hill“ for dudes which made no sense because there were already more dudes using the app than women which made it impossible to match with any girls. Recently the app was taken down from the app store which resulted in people being +100,200,300 km away and nothing was offered by the Customer Service team after I made a complaint. ✓ This app is dead without instant chatThis app was the best alternative to your traditional dating apps, unless you were born with super genes you are unlikely to find a match on this app. The instant chat feature was the best feature of this app as this allowed you to bypass the necessity of being liked on face value, allowing for meaningful conversations and deep chats with people leading up to intimacy. Would give this app 4 stars if not for the lack of instant chat, 1/3 botted users, and lack of users. ✓ From a woman’s perspective…The concept is interesting, but this seems to be another one of those apps where there are significantly more men than women, which leads to a very uncomfortable experience for any women who do sign up. If it was as simple as only being able to talk to the people I match with, it would be fine. But it appears that men are given the option to pay for memberships that allow them to instant chat with women without matching. This is not advertised to women, mind you. I looked all over the app and couldn’t find the option. I got 300+ likes within a few hours of being on the app, some of those before I even added pictures and a bio, so you can imagine how many messages came. And when you don’t immediately reply because you have a load of other people also trying to talk to you, but men can see you online, they get annoyed and send even more messages. ✓ Great in theory, poor execution.Just like the title says and many other reviews you’ve seen. I have been a regular on this app off and on for over a year now. This app had a great idea and still has potential. Unfortunately, they fail to recognize their failures and learn/improve from them. The big glaring issue is all of the cam/scam girls that make up the majority (if not all) of the potential hookups. Because of this, I have yet to find one genuine, real person on this app and have only been a target for ID theft and CC theft. ✓ A lot of scammers and fake profilesIn principle it’s a good idea especially with regards to disappearing chats and count down clocks to encourage engagement but there needs to be a robust verification process in place which there isn’t. There are anonymity safeguards which are good for safety in one way but this also creates a major catfish issue. I understand a business needs to make money which is fine but here you purchase ‘gifts’ in order to message people directly on top of your monthly or weekly fee and 9/10 times they are accounts directing you to Snapchat to sell you content or are catfishes so it’s basically throwing money away on each gift you send. You will find many of the fake accounts you’ve matched with disappear or get blocked for being fake but it’s not like they reimburse your lost credits to make up for it. 😆 There also aren’t enough users even in central london. ✓ Decent idea with a very bad implementationWell here goes my first review. The concept is an interesting one and I will at least give them that for now. However, the way they went about is very questionable. One, just in case you are wondering it is not a free app. The above I can live with, however, the number of fake profiles or people selling pics or people offering sex for money far outweighs the total number of legit people looking for something on this app. I do not say this lightly, the people who have made this app seem to be in no way concerned about removing the aforementioned profiles. The report app seems a novelty to make you believe that, “Oh look at us! We care about you”. Finally, over the past few days I have noticed that you get matched with profiles you have never liked, which is bizarre. Hope something changes otherwise take my word for it and do not bother. ✓ It ain’t that bad but.....The discreetness is cool and so is the presentation of the app itself. I’ve met a few real people lol but here are some issues: 1. Lack of close people: I live in Texas, about an hour from Houston. I’m used to having limited options if you don’t live a big city but, this app doesn’t have a lot of people regardless of where you live. You get about 3-4 people and everybody is 150+ away. Buy a scratch off instead.I’ve been on & off Pure a few times over the last year & with the exception of meeting a couple real people last year, this app is rampant with fake profiles, bots, and scammers. Guys get to pay $15 (for a week) which is the the most I’ll donate & that is just for the hopes of maybe finding one real person. I recently did a week subscription & found the new profile layout to be friendlier, there’s just one glaring issue - not one of the profiles is active.
