✓ Sorting music triggers insanityOften you want to sort songs in a playlist into a set order. This app makes that process extremely frustrating. When you “edit” a playlist and move a specific song (say to the beginning of the playlist), the song that you moved often remains in its original position. Your edit is then applied to some other random song. Trying the “maybe this time” game with the app grows tiresome quickly..Version: 3.50.1001
✓ HelpI am using this on an iPhone 😂 and when I opened it, it had said select account and I selected my google account but its saying “its easy to get an account search for google play music and sign up on our website” and I’ve typed in google play music and its saying on a little tab open the app and i did and its saying the same thing. ✓ It’s good generally but it crashes a lot1) This app isn’t attractive in the way that other music platforms are. 2) It can be confusing the use when you first start. It’s not a very user-friendly interface 3) IT CRASHES A LOT. If I play a song and leave the app, it stops for a while then picks up again and stays okay as long as I don’t open the app again. If I do, the app crashes totally. Occasionally (like today) the songs kept breaking briefly (for about a second to three seconds at a time). This app has been crashing for almost as long as I’ve been using it. I got a new phone and things were good for almost three months and recently (a week or so ago), I had to start using that work-around where I don’t open the app a second time to avoid crashing. ✓ App works well, but CarPlay doesn’t...Keeping it short and sweet, the app works pretty well overall. The only issue I run into is with CarPlay and this app. While the music works fine, you can access all your playlists, etc., two bugs are present. The first is that it doesn’t always show my “Now Playing”. When I click on it sometimes it just sits there at the same screen and freezes, never going to now playing. If I reboot the Google Play Music app or the phone itself, then it usually fixes itself and shows the “Now Playing” screen with what Google Play Music is playing. The bigger issue, however, is whenever I am using the Google Play Music app I lose all functionality for Siri through CarPlay. The icon of Siri shows up if I activate it, but you can’t speak and have it recognize your voice. Once Siri “beeps” so you know to start talking, no matter what you say it doesn’t recognize your voice and just sits there. Then, it stops the voice input thing and goes right back to the song that was playing. It’s quite frustrating/annoying. The moment you leave the app and go into, say, Apple Music or something else it works fine. It’s only when you are using Google Play Music and music is playing. ✓ Shuffle needs workingWhen I play my songs/Playlist from the top song down (no shuffle) it's the same songs everytime which I expect, but when I use shuffle it's basically the same songs shuffled, it's never mixed up, it's like I have two play list, can you please work on the shuffle mode so it mixes them around more each time you listen, even if you have sort options in the songs you have saved on your phone like "new songs" "time from short/long" etc ☺️ thank you.Version: 3.50.1001
✓ CarPlay broken with iOS 13This app doesn’t work with CarPlay in iOS 13. I was previously using this with iOS 12 for many hours each day in the car but now in iOS 13 it just sticks on “Getting your music”. I have to start the music playing by using the app on the phone. It streams fine but I can’t control it from CarPlay. I have rebooted my phone and car but it makes no difference. Please fix. This is a daily app for me and I would have thought CarPlay testing in iOS 13 would have been a priority during the beta cycle. Thank you..Version: 3.53.1003
✓ Playing music whilst the app is closedThis app has worked perfectly since I got it a few months ago however recently whenever I lock my iPhone or close the app the music stops playing after about two seconds and the app completely freezes and glitches out. The only way to play music is to keep the app open and make sure my phone doesn’t auto lock. Really not practical and drains my battery..Version: 3.53.1003
✓ Was good but recently brokenSince iOS 11 this app has been partially broken, when music is playing and one unlocks the phone the music stops. The *thinks* it’s still playing but one needs to stop and start play to resume again. ✓ Please Fix the Edit Playlist Issue!!I use this app all the time primarily because I have access to the paid plan features along with a couple other people on the plan with me. I've gotten so used to the way this app is set up that I hardly use any other apps for streaming music. The most frustrating issue that I continue having on here is when I am trying to remove a particular song from a playlist, but after I swipe left and hit the trash symbol to delete it - not only is the song still there, but another song on the playlist gets deleted instead! I can tell that something else was deleted because the list of songs still gets reduced and the songs towards the bottom shift upward, but since it happens so fast I don't know which song it was that got deleted. But one I was trying to delete it still there. SUPER frustrating. Please fix this Google! I don't want to have to rebuild all my playlists on another app, but if this keeps happening I will definitely do that..Version: 3.59.1006

✓ Frustratingly glitchy of lateI’ve been a subscriber and user for a couple of years now. While this app used to be mostly rock-solid... with the exception of the fact that albums would often download with a glitch or two and require deleting and redownloading to fix, now the app is getting VERY glitchy. When opening or closing the app, locking or unlocking the phone and various other actions, the music will stop playing. It’s paused, but the app displays the track as playing. You have to pause and then unpause to resume playback. This is making the app almost completely unusable in many situations, as I can’t do ANYTHING with my phone without having to fix playback. I thought this was a problem that crept in, only to be fixed with an update, but it’s been the case through several updates of both the app and iOS and only seems to be getting worse. Please fix. ✓ Flaky playbackThis app has developed an issue where it often doesn’t proceed to play the next song. I thought it was my bad internet connection overseas but now have the same issue on a new iPhone XS with freshly downloaded app on my rock solid home broadband. Same as on my iPad overseas. It just fails to load and play the next song. I have to skip back then forward to get it to play the song. I only have the free account, playing songs I uploaded back when I had a paid account. ✓ Useless - do not getI have had so many issues with this app. When making playlists it randomly shuffles the order of tracks. Latest update has resulted in entire tracks being skipped when playing music. A song has to be selected three times before actually playing. It does this randomly and has no predictability as to when a song will be skipped during a shuffle or when manually selected. Albums are randomly duplicated which makes the library hard to navigate and messy. Latest issue is that when a song is finally selected no sound comes out. I have reinstalled the app various times to try fix this as well as sending feedback through the app 3 times and heard nothing back. ✓ Better than Apple’s VersionThis is the best music app out there currently, but it’s not without flaws. It has all kinds of bugs in CarPlay. For instance, when I try to access my downloaded playlists, it tells me “getting music,” and stays stuck there until I give up and access it through my phone. Also, songs regularly have interference, as if I was playing a scratched record, even though the songs have been downloaded (ie: it’s not due to poor streaming quality). Lastly, the font is so ridiculously small and there’s no way to change it because it’s not compatible with Apple’s software. Who’s fault that is,I have no idea—but it’s annoying. What I like about the app is that I can create radio playlist and then download them. This allows me to listen to tons of new music without having to pay to stream it. This is a feature Apple’s app doesn’t offer. I hope Google will further develop this app, although they don’t seem to push out updates very often..Version: 3.53.1003

✓ Ok, but not as good as Apple MusicThere’s loads of music on here, as with any service, but the playlists are far inferior to Apple Music. If you like classical music, it seems like they don’t have quite the same high quality of albums and artists as Apple Music, but that may just be my experience. ✓ Could make some improvementsFirst off I love the variety of radio stations available. This app probably has the most sub-genres compared to other apps. Audio quality is also very good. I would love to be able to download single songs and not entire albums. Sure, I could make a playlist and download it later. But I feel like that's an unnecessary extra step or two. Why not just have the download option available for each track like most other apps offer? Unfortunately, this one lacking feature is enough for me to unsubscribe to the paid service. ✓ “Works” but not well.I’d say this app has been abandoned if it weren’t for periodic useless bug fixes, but they come in every couple months. They made a “good enough” update back when the iPhone X came out and just have made little patches to make it work on the modern ones. There’s still flickering near the notch, search button doesn’t work if it’s near the notch, and still many features and presentation are just not available like they are on other phones. I know iOS isn’t Google’s main priority and all, but this is a paid service that your customers are forced to have a lack luster experience. ✓ Erased all of my music except for one artist!!Okay, I’m still using this service. But, gotta say, this really sucked major time, and support was absolutely no help at all. Spent an eternity on the phone to be told there was nothing to be done except to download everything all over again. My library was emptied completely of all music except for one artist and one song by one other artist, which I consider completely unacceptable!!! I had a massive accumulation of music and I use music A LOT, for many things, including work and travel. Getting all my favorites again is going to take a lot of time and I’m really angry about this situation and how it was handled. I feel like reaching out for help was a waste of time, and even worse, if you’re going to offer a service, make sure that something this major DOES NOT HAPPEN. I understand technology has bugs, and I would have probably been more patient and understanding if they at least acknowledged the problem and were working on a solution, but I was essentially told that it was a situation they were not familiar with, and I was responsible for it myself. ✓ Very buggyMain bug that drives me crazy seems to be a deadlock in the UI, rendering it useless until the phone can be unlocked and the app killed (not easy.. and illegal to do while driving). As others have said, this is a paid subscription service from a huge company with decent software developers. The app should be rock solid. Not a half hearted attempt. ✓ Very good but needs fixing...I really like this app. It’s easy to use and easy to download music. Although, there is a bug that’s driving me crazy! Every so often the music will just stop playing. I don’t know why. I think it started for me in iOS 10 but it’s in iOS 11 as well. Even though there’s no music playing, if you go back into the app it displays the button to stop the music, but with google play music, it should display the button to play when stopped. (Press pause to pause, and play to play.) The bug usually occurs when out of the app, and when you just start playing music, but lately it’s happening almost every other song. Please fix this bug! ✓ Has potentialHonestly, you guys have the best algorithm for finding similar musicians and the ability to have radio stations based off a single song is pretty awesome, but come on guys you’re one of the largest tech companies in the world and you don’t updated your app in over 3 months. There’s more than enough bugs to warrant an update. For one, I can’t even stream from this app to my Chromecast audio. It just never works. Also for whatever reason half of my thumbs up playlist disappears mid-stream when I go from Wi-fi to LTE. I have feeling that this has to do with beef with Apple, but honestly that’s no excuse. I pay for a premium membership and seemingly simple problems like this should be fixed. ✓ Often CarPlay issuesI love the Play Music app way more than iTunes or Apple Music. I have use Google play and play music for a long time. But once I got a new vehicle with the CarPlay actually or feature the Google play music has quite often caused issues. Whether it was now playing this song or delaying to be pulled up in the app or stating there is not connection when trying to pull up playlist. Majority of the time I am using my actual phone to start play music from a playlist or simply the library. I have seen other reviews with the same response, so I know I am not the only one. I’m sure part of the reason is because I am using an Apple phone with google play music. But also using the CarPlay feature seems to support more iPhone features than Google features. Even still I would prefer to use Google play music rather than the Apple Music. Excited for when there has been and update sent out for this issue to be resolved. ✓ Was Good But Now Don't BotherGoogle Music was a great app until the last 2 updates. Now the app pauses the music at very random moments mid-song. This happens regularly and even when the phone is locked. It's embarrassing when you are playing music at a party and the music cuts out several times. Another recent negative is that it has become painfully clunky. By this I mean that there is often a 5 second lag of silence when you select or change songs. ✓ CarplayVery poorly optimised for apple carplay, sometimes the now playing tab won’t appear and then the steering wheel controls won’t be able to skip through the music and the iphone app will have to be used which is fine when passengers are there, but impossible when driving myself. Also poorly optimised for apple ios11, sometimes the music stops when I take a call and when i press play, the music on my iphone will take over instead of restarting the play music. ✓ I expected this to be less buggyI love the fact that I can access my songs from anywhere with Google Play Music, however this is diminished by the fact that whenever I’m connected to Bluetooth or chromecast, skipping songs is a nightmare, even with a fast internet connection. The app stutters and randomly pauses my music and sometimes skips more than one song. Also, when changing songs, it temporarily stops playing audio to the Bluetooth device even though the song is definitely playing. These functions work normally when using headphones or just playing on the phones built in speaker. ✓ App gets stuck a lotI have been using google music since forever but now the app gets stuck so much that it’s come to a point that I came to write this review, I hope a developer reads and does something about it. Sometimes the play button is turned on but the music is not playing, when it plays on google home, it’s not connecting instantly and again the play button gets stuck. I have open and close the app multiple times. Basically it’s not very seamless, especially the play/pause button. It is very very irritating. I have a paid subscription and would not like this kind of experience. The app is littered with bugs that make it inoperable. It freezes every few minutes and then crashes if you try to interact with the frozen screen. Music pauses every 20 seconds approximately if you open from lock screen, are in the app, or switching between apps. Doesn’t work if you download the music and go offline: same issues. ✓ The only reason I use the app for is the other music app are even worseLet me list the problems I have with this app: - The music constantly cuts out, even through I am on home wi-fi and have lowered the quality of the music stream - It is inconsistently unresponsive. Sometimes it responds when you tap 'buttons', sometimes it doesn't and sometimes you have to it hit them several times - It always cuts out when I switch to another app on my iPhone 6 Plus. So why don't I switch to another music app, like Apple's Music steaming service or Spotify? Well, because they are worse for me. Google Music gives me great recommendations. I use these to purchase music and listen to it on the Apple Music app (not Apple's Music streaming service). In comparison Apple's Music steaming service ruined my music library. It took me a month to fix after I unsubscribed. Spotify doesn't give me the recommendations or have music I want to listen to. ✓ Give me the option in app to keep the screen unlocked during playbackPhone used to stay unlocked when app was open playing music and i had a charging cable attached when i was still on ios 10 but i finally gave in and updated to ios 12 and the fundamentals of the app changed. This is dangerous for drivers who stream off of their phones and have to unlock the phone now to see the song currently playing. The only way to keep the display on now is to go into the ios settings and having to set the screen yo stay unlocked unless manually locked (which is not possible if you used touchid and applepay on the phone) I want the feature similar to how google maps keeps the phone unlocked while navigating back. ✓ IssuesThis is really the only music app I use. I, personally, like how it works, but that's because I've been using it for years. It's not the same for a new user; the layout is easy to get confused with. I have had to deal with issues with deleting songs from my playlists. Trying to delete one song will delete the song one, two, sometimes even three songs above it. It comes and goes, but it's still a reoccurring problem that I've had for the longest time, and when it comes around, I often lose songs for good, because there's no way I could keep track of all 300 of them. And, though I have 300 songs, I may end up listening to some more than others because the Shuffle option isn't that great. Play Music is also pretty buggy-- the panels that come up for adding songs will sometimes jump across the screen. Speaking of, I do wish that there was an option to simply add a bunch of songs to a playlist all at once rather than one by one..Version: 3.50.1001

✓ CarPlay IssuesExtremely glitchy with Google Play Music (and Siri). I have the paid subscription of Play Music, but the app in Apple Car Play will no longer display any information (playlists, songs, now playing, etc). It’s just a black screen (the music will play and I can see the songs only on MyLinks “iPod” screen, not Car Play). I tried uninstalling the app and resetting MyLink in my Silverado to default settings, while also manually disconnecting all services from each other. That did not fix the problem. I will also ditto some of the Siri complaints and take it a step further. If Siri isn’t properly prompted, it will freeze all volume controls in my Silverado including the volume knob and the steering wheel volume controls for my entire radio (not just Apple Car Play). Nothing will fix this issue until I am completely out of the car, turn it off, and come back at least 15 minutes later for me to get control over my radio back. This hasn’t yet happened to me on a “long drive” for more than an hour, but I’ve been stuck for at least half an hour in a frozen volume purgatory (can’t adjust up or down). ✓ IOS 13 CarPlay brokenCarPlay support has been so broken since iOS 13. Was generally ok before that but would occasionally freeze on CarPlay. But since iOS 13 it freezes all the time / stuck on black screen / stuck on “getting your music”. Basically unusable. App hasn’t been updated for months. I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed, Google. Compared to Its competitors this really lacks with Apple Car Play. If you hear a song you like you can’t thumbs up or add it to your library through Apple Car Play. ✓ So many bugs still?I left google play music some time again, then made the decision to try it again. Maybe I just chose the wrong time, but since iOS 11 this has been incredibly unstable and typically stops playing downloaded songs after a few minutes. Even downloading is fraught with delays, and having to pause/resume to trick it into downloading at times. And of course the old bugs are still there including duplicate albums, and songs starting several minutes in when you get to the end of your queue and start it again. ✓ Broken...This app used to work so well. Yes the app is a bit ugly and in need of a decent refresh, but it worked! But in the last few weeks it’s got almost impossible to use. Music cuts off multiple times during songs, whether streaming or downloaded. An album says it’s downloaded, but actually hasn’t. You switch from another app, and the music stops. You switch back to this app, wait for a few seconds while it unfreezes the pause/play button, click play and then it freezes again when you switch to the app you were using. Some apps are unusable if you want to listen to music. You also have problems where downloaded songs show up multiple times in albums or albums are missing songs. And that won’t change no matter how many times you delete the album or song and re-download. I’ve tried sending feedback through the app but either no one’s home or they just don’t care about the iOS app. So in summary, avoid unless you like a buggy app and the frustration of constantly stopping songs. ✓ UNACCEPTABLEGoogle Play- I want to love you, but you need to be fixed. I have been a loyal user of Google Play Music since it’s inception (or whenever it swallowed Songza) I love the interface, but it’s incredibly buggy. I purchased a subscription hoping that this would eliminate the glitches from using the free ad version where the music wouldn’t start after an ad played etc. The straw that broke the camel’s back was a particular Geico ad that would not only stop the music, but send my phone into some weird zombie state where I would have to hold one of the side buttons to wake it up and then close the window Geico had conveniently opened up for me in Safari. Very, very annoying. Now that I’ve chosen to make Google my subscription based music streaming platform of choice, you’d think it would work more seamlessly, especially considering the heavy competition. I certainly didn’t face any issues like this with Apple Music and I am starting to regret my decision to switch over. ✓ Appalling user interfaceCome on Google you can do better than this. This app has an awful user interface. For instance if I open a single album from an artist on the IPad in landscape mode then I get to see two tracks from the album. Half the screen has a picture of the band (provided by Google - when that works) and is completely useless). Each of the two tracks I see takes as much space as 3 or 4 lines of text. Surely on an album display what you actually want to see is a list of all the tracks. Naturally you may need to scroll down sometimes but not for every album surely? In addition the app is often extremely slow and crashes out frequently. I know I have 15,000 songs in my library but it should work better than that. ✓ If your getting this app to play music think againYou’d think by paying 10 a month for a service that plays music it would atleast play music. This app has more problems than I have ever seen there’s atleast 30 but the biggest one by far is that the app randomly crashes while playing music. Don’t subscribe to this service this has been going on for over half a year I’ve sent atleast 20 feedback letters and talked to customer support more hours than I ever should in my life for one app and nothing has been done to fix this horrible service that can’t even function. ✓ This quality of this app has continually degraded as I have used it since 2016As said in title, in 2016 when I first started using this app it was truly great. Since then it has slowly but surely been reduced to the form that that it is now. Extraordinarily obvious aspects of customer satisfaction have either never been implemented or have existed previously and somehow were removed. For example: when you look in your Recents tab, it doesn’t show the songs you last listened to (in the order you listened to them). It shows a random assortment of songs playlists and artists, some of which you may not have touched in the last year. Furthermore, they often don’t appear as search suggestions, even if it’s literally the song that was last entered in the search (say like 10 seconds ago). Additionally, as noted, features that did exist have disappeared. I used to be able to “Identify what’s playing” a la Shazam via the search field. That of course was too useful so it was removed. I’m very unhappy with the implementation of this software on this platform, and I certainly have stopped recommending it. There has been little to zero incentive presented in recent months to continue paying for this service when the existing iTunes software is clearly better equipped and whose functionality is generally superior..Version: 3.47.1002

✓ Good, but not comparable to other music appsThe organization for the app is a bit confusing and feels less user friendly than other apps. There are multiple ways to navigate the app but can be confusing when you first start using it. It’s a good app, but I think alternative music apps are better. The main issue that I have is when I add songs to My Library, many of the recently released songs/albums end up getting deleted. Does anyone else have this issue? There’s no way for me of knowing which dogs were removed from my library until I end up searching randomly for that song because I want to listen to it. Not sure if it is a licensing issue of some sort, but it consistently happens to me. We have a family plan, and everyone on our plan has experienced the same thing. One of our users only had about 25 songs in their library, and after a month, it was reduced to 3 songs. Unfortunately this music app has a lot of finicky bugs—never syncs properly with Microsoft Sync in the car; almost always crashes now when playing a song and the app is opened to either change the song or ‘like’ or ‘unlike’ a song. ✓ I don’t like itI came here to listen to certain songs in particular, but after looking it up, all I got was the radio version which only features songs that are different from it. You can’t see all the songs and the picking is random so if you like a song, you’d better hit the button because you probably won’t see it again in your life. And for some reason you can’t get to your song in it’s playlist because it only gives you a tiny bit of skips before you can’t use anymore without their paywall. And the worst part is if you want it on loop, better choose a better app because they don’t have loop. The similar song thing is good but if you want a better review, add loop and the ability to listen to singular songs and maybe a gaming section on the home screen. ✓ Hard to useCome on google let me use Apple Music on my google home! Your music app is terrible. The interface is boring and doesn’t lead you anywhere. I find it hard to browse and find any new music as the app is very limited. ✓ I used to love GPM, but now it’s gone too farI used to love Google Play Music because it was free and easy, I had my usuals to listen to and I loved all the music that popped up. Perfect for what I use GPM for; driving, showers, and hair and makeup music. But, now there seemed to be a new update that has really messed everything up. Now when I play music after the first song it stops playing music until I open my phone and go to the app where it starts an ad. 😤 The least you can do is make sure the ads play seamlessly with the music while I’m driving. I thought maybe this was a glitch and after the first time it would just play like usual with the ads, but NO. With EVERY AD there is a stop in the music where I need to open my phone and the app in order to start the ad and then finally continue with the music. Why would you make the ads this way? You’re causing problems with your free listeners and why? Just to try to get them to buy your subscription? If I wanted to get a subscription I definitely wouldn’t choose GPM, especially if they keep this up. How does it look to make free listeners become distracted drivers just to try to get them to buy the premium? Or flood the bathroom while they try to fix their music? Stupid. ✓ Incredibly buggyGreat service. Terrible iOS app. It fundamentally can't play music reliably even when the music is downloaded on the phone I.e. not streaming. The app's been buggy for some time. It used to be better but has steadily deteriorated. I waited patiently for this new release and the longer it took to arrive the more hopeful I was that they'd fix it but this release seems at least as bad as the last. For a company such resources this seems like an amateurish attempt at an iOS app. Or someone is trying to make it terrible on purpose so that I switch to Apple Music. I wonder what the product manager and QA team are up to when their app can't even play a song all the way through? Downloaded songs will stop playing even in offline mode - just today a downloaded song stopped 4 times. Again, these are songs that are on my phone not streaming. It's mostly a mystery why songs stop but at least some have to do with the radio environment. Any time the cellular radio switches mode or the phone switches to wifi the song stops. In NYC it's a busy radio environment with frequency cell handover, and forget using this app on the subway - even in "Dowwnload only" mode. On wifi at home it mostly works but that's not when I need it to work. My gramophone has that use case covered. ✓ Can't believe this crap comes from Google.How does a company with so much smarts get this soooo wrong!! I don't want to listen to someone else's playlist or mix! The internet allows me to ditch radio--why else would I invest the time uploading the music I bought?? To be forced to scroll through those useless bubble images to find an artist is downright user-antagonistic! When I am looking at My Library, I can see a grand total of 4 artists or albums per screen. When I click an artist, I can only see the first two (2) of their albums because the top half of the screen is showing me a picture of the band it pulled from somewhere. I don't need pictures! Album covers are awesome when they are a foot square and made of real cardboard. They are decidedly not awesome when reduced to a postage stamp to fit on a 2" x 4" display. ✓ Great app, but is more buggy than ever.Play Music is and always will be the only music app I ever use. It’s always worked how it needs to and is simple to use, with great quality content. BUT, I don’t know if it’s just the iOS app, but it seems like it gets buggier after every update. I have a lot of problems when I’m trying to use the app with my google home. Most of the time it won’t even connect to it when I want to cast music. When I try to delete a song from a playlist, it instead deletes a different one that’s a couple songs up and the one I originally tried to delete stays there, and I can’t get rid of it. And something I noticed today, if I try to select ‘play next’ on a song while I’m listening to music, it stops the music completely and a whole other song from a completely different playlist is selected and shows up on the screen. AND now when I listen to a playlist on shuffle, it plays one song, and then the music stops after that and doesn’t continue playing the rest of the playlist. ✓ Could be great but.....I used Google Play Music on my HTC 10 without issue, now on iPhone 8 songs just stop playing, intermittently, without any obvious reason why. ✓ Subscriber here but app needs improvementI enjoy the app for the most part however on my iPhone 6 it often will stop playing music when coming out of lock screen for absolutely no reason I can see. The app has done this for the past few revisions and on iOS 10 and now iOS 11. I also feel the app to be somewhat laggy in caching art and also stuttering frames even over wifi than other streaming apps I have tried. The price is better value however with googles vast resources I expect a better experience. I think the app has definitely improved and getting better visually and it’s UI is nicer than ever but the way it stops playing music for me is almost a deal breaker in this app category. ✓ So disappointedI like music, how could I not like this App? Google knows so much about me. Age, gender, where I was born, 20-years of e-mails and the entire contents of my record collection. I happen to live in France for part of the year. I guess Google thinks because the kids around me listen to French hits, French Jazz, French Oldies etc, then so would I. Wrong! If I was a teenage girl in the 90’s then I would expect my music curator to assume I have fond memories of I’m a Barbie Girl. But as I was in my 40’s, it is high on my list of most hated tracks, but was offered as a first choice. An album I did search for was Eagles Greatest hits. It did not exist, but Eagles radio gives you any dreary, or live track but not what you wanted to hear. Same goes for John Denver, Dylan, Joan Baez, or probably most things pre-digital recording. I've tried everything only to find that my libraries on my iPad, iPhone, and laptop are all different from one another. Why? That doesn't make any sense. They're still available, they're just no longer in my library for whatever reason. And why does uploading previously owned music result in Play Music deleting your entire library except for the uploaded content? ✓ Not worth the moneyI’ve had play music for quite a few months and I’ve finally had it with the app. I can’t count the amount of times the app has told me that I can’t play this song right now or had deleted songs random from albums. It’s also a very feature poor app, seriously I have a 256 gig iPhone with 200 gigs free and cloud photo storage... why do I have to click download for every album I want to have offline and then still have to deal with playback issues. On top of the feature issues my library is nearly unusable because it was “auto organized” which destroyed my folder structured music library. ✓ Okay at best, mediocre at worstGoogle Play Music has a great selection of tracks and radios stations to choose from, and should have more than enough to suit anyone’s musical tastes. Additionally, audio quality is not a problem, each song sounds crystal clear, despite being a given more often than not for music streaming services. However, there are many little nuances in the UI that bogs down the whole experience. Searching through menus feels choppy, and even delayed at times, as if the app as a whole is unoptimized for iOS. Even worse, is how power-hungry it is. Every time I open the app to switch to another album, or playlist, I find my phone lose several percent within minutes of just using it. However this power consumption issue does not occur during background use, thankfully. Overall, this app feels clunky, and no amount of UI changes, or additions will change that until Google fixes the optimization issues within the app. At best, the app works like any music-streaming service. The problem is that many others have said already is the app CONSTANTLY stops playing music for no reason at all. This will happen regardless of what is going on. It can be a saved music file on your phone. It can be streaming when you have WiFi. It can happen all the time. And it does. This app is very glitchy and has scroll problems as well. The service itself is great and when using on a computer I have not experienced issues but this app is borderline useless unless you are ok with constantly hitting the pause/play button to try to get your music playing again. But there are 3 things that annoy me: 1) Sometimes I’ll download a single from an album but then a little while later download the whole album. It doesn’t download the single(s) I already download and instead creates separate albums; 1 for the singles and 1) for the rest of the album. So I have the same album separated into 2 separate albums. 2) NEED to filter out the censored content. C’mon now! Nothing worse than listening to the censored version except maybe unknowingly downloading the censored version and being unable to fix it 3) This is perhaps the most annoying, but when I delete songs from a playlist, it won’t delete the song I swipe to delete. ✓ ProblematicAs of the current build, I cannot integrate the player with the built in controls on my iPhone. When I swipe up to control playback, my player is not available. Music will be playing, but I can not pause or skip. The same can be said for controlling playback on my headphones. This was not a problem with the previous build(s) I had installed. Dev Request: create a better way to report issues with the catalog. I had an instance where the names of the songs were correct, but the actual track played was incorrect. I have been a subscriber for over 3 years and paying my $9.99 and I have been tempted to switch to Apple Music but I tend to use Google Play Music because I have all my playlists on here established. Google Play Music needs to be more stable on Apple devices. It does not plat music or any type of song I pick sometimes, it does not show lyrics like Apple Music does, and Google Play Music also lags quite a bit. The Sleep Time is also not convenient to get to. You have to go into the settings and set it where as with Apple Music it’s just there with a swipe up. ✓ DuplicatesMy main gripe would be that duplicates of almost every album in my library appear. Sometimes in multiples of 5. This makes my library crazy unorganized. There are also many instances where complete albums are split into 2 albums. Fix these long standing issues and I may give you guys another try. ✓ Love the app 2 bugs updateLove the app in general works well most the time, but many times when trying to play music of my phone to my google home group in the house, it will kick the BT connection off and not allow a connection, i have fixed this issue temp. By deleting the app and reinstalling, but it happens randomly, the other on is just a preference thing, all the YT thumbs up symbols are on the right and thumbs down is on the left except this app, and it throws me off, when i hit the TD button instead of TU. Also on the phone its much easier to click TU on the right considering u mostly have the phone held one handed. ✓ Needs Some TLCI am a huge fan of the product moreso than the app. Having all of this great music at your fingertips is a blessing and at times a curse (how many playlists can one person create???) I find the one standout thing that bothers me most about this app (because it happens SO frequently) is the constant crashing. Start adding an album to your library and the app lags, if a song is playing it starts skipping, then app freezes and you must close to reboot. If a song is playing and you go to the search, it will sometimes freeze up and crash. Please perfect this app, find what is causing it to crash so often and eliminate it. ✓ TThis app is my preferred method of streaming music but it is not elegant or refined at all.
