✓ LIFX users ?I have several lifx bulbs and this app now finds them reliably and can set static colours (although it would be nice to be able to set them more accurately). Problem is, it won't do the colour changes and fades (presets) stuff. Total failure. I have tried everything and there are no instructions or help. Buy this app if a) you like your bulbs to stay on one colour or b) you are a relative of the guy who wrote it and can get some help on how/if the app can do colour changes. What little blurb there is on the net about this app seems to suggest that it is mainly a Philips hue controller and only does lifx by accident..Version: 1.6.2

✓ App turns itself on and overrides Hue appDownloaded it. Loved it and bought a year’s subscription. Then when it was time for bed, the lights would not turn off. Used the Hue app to turn lights off, and they turned right back on with Lightbow. ✓ IMMEDIATE REGRETI expected animations/video on the TV but this is actually worse than some of the ios apps where at least you can turn off the tv to enjoy the lights. ✓ Useless for home automationThere are some clever lighting effects but you have to have the app open and on screen to work. This means that timers and schedules don't work (unless you walk around with the app open constantly and don't use your phone for any other purpose). ✓ No response from DesignerOne of the main reasons I got this app was because it was one of the few hue apps that work with Shortcuts. However, the Shortcut commands do not work for me. When i select them, they simply open the Lightbow app and then they end their routine at that point without activating scene. This is really frustrating for me since I would never have purchased the app in the first place had I realized this was going to be an issue. I wasn’t too put out since the developer offers a contact page within the app. I reached out to the developer about 3 weeks ago and have not received a response. I received an auto-response at the time of the message saying “I’ll respond when i have time” (paraphrased) I get that app designers are only a single person a lot of the time and often they have day jobs that prevent them from responding in a timely manner. But if you’re a developer who can’t actually address problems with your app due to time constraints, then in my honest opinion, your app is not finished. I spent good money on this app with no hope of ever receiving a refund and most likely communication. It’s frustrating and I want people to know about it before they spend hard earned money here..Version: 3.3.3

✓ No longer worth itI loved this app and have been a subscriber for a few years. My main complaint is the animations default to one specific group of lights in my living room. If I try to run it on one light or a different group, like my bedroom, it doesn't work. This was not the case up until a few months ago. Additionally, there hasn't been any content added in months. ✓ Fast changing lightNice to have ability to make color sequences however, there is a 10sec max for each color before it goes to the next so in order to get pretty, relaxing effects similar to ambee, you would have to string tons of the same color together to make effect of a color lasting more than 10 seconds. ✓ Great presets, but no way to limit presets to a subset of lightsFirst, the good. Lightbow has a lot of preset configuration and does a very good job animating the lights with music. The subscription is a little pricey, but it does come with a lot. The problem with Lightbow is it isn’t easy to run an animation on a single light, or even a single light group. When you start running any of the subscription presets, it runs them on all lights, or seems to pick lights at Random - not good if you have a lot of Hue lights. The only way that I’ve been able to do this, and even this isn’t 100% reliable, is to shut off all of the lights, except those that I want to control. I then start the preset and then I can turn on any other lights that I want to. The functionality that should be there is to be able to pick a light group, which should take you to a place where you can pick the preset, thereby limiting the effects to only that group..Version: 3.3.3

✓ Good concept, not quite thereI intended to use this app with LIFX lights. There are a few issues I have with it. 1) it disconnected from my lights within minutes of using it. 2) very confusing and difficult to use. 3) EXPENSIVE!!!! Why in the world does it cost so much? $25 should be a one-time purchase. 4) aesthetically not pleasing. ✓ Used to be a Great App... now it's slowly getting worseI’m slowly getting fed up with Lightbow. The reasons are that the lightbow collections are appearing too frequently and as a result the quality of them is suffering, also I believe that the developer is not looking after the people that have supported this app. I used to buy all of the lighbow collections, however that has stopped. Before if anyone had purchased a lightbow collection, Halloween for instance, then any new scenes that were to do with Halloween would have been added to the Halloween collection for free as long as you had purchased it previously. That was the same for any Lightbow collection, Christmas, Space, Summer Fun, etc. What I didn’t like was that I had supported (along with many others) the developer by buying all of the collections (some were just ok) and then instead of being given for free the new obvious “Halloween” scenes, they were bundled as a separate lightbow collection called “Haunted House”. Just because it’s called Haunted House, doesn’t hide that it’s Halloween. It was put into the collection just before the Halloween period and is obviously Halloween and should have been added to “Halloween” for free. That is what has stopped me buying all of the lightbow collections. If I’m supporting the developer then I expect him to do the right thing, not rename fresh Halloween scenes and pretend they are different just because he has called them Haunted House and then expect me to pay for them. However it’s the developers loss. That has saved me money as there are 4 collections that I haven’t paid for, and lost money for the developer because of his Haunted House stunt. I understand that you need and want to generate more income, but if it’s at the expense of losing loyal customers, then you need to rethink what you are doing. Also the lightbow collections seem to be appearing more frequently, and perhaps this is why they are losing their appeal and the quality of them is suffering. The “Twelve Days” lightbow collection I was prepared to pay for, because although it’s to do with Christmas, it is a Christmas song in itself and therefore shouldn’t be added to the “Christmas” lightbow collection. The problem is, it’s not working properly, it races through parts of it and skips sections. It’s a shame, because if it had worked properly then I would have bought it. The light can’t react quickly enough to the music, which just ruins what I’m imagining it might be like. I wouldn’t buy this collection just to play the 12 light collections separately, as separately there are not enough that I like. As a collection that plays in time with the song correctly then it’s far better. Hopefully it will be fixed very soon..Version: 2.9

✓ Expensive extra presets & buggy.This app will not start up well if it cannot find your light. (It should have an option to setup the light after the app opens. The animations need to be longer than 5 seconds to allow a greater variety of use. Education, Sport etc. It needs minutes as well. The triggers work as an alternative, however should have a way of connecting them. I.e Let the triggers one after each other. The extra presets are expensive for what you get. The Apple Watch app is buggy with preset delays to the watch. The settings menu has a bug as well. The text is over itself..Version: 2.3.1

✓ Phillips drove me to it. Love it (sort of)After spending months enduring Phillips updates on their hue app I move to this. Considering Phillips make the hardware, their app is the worst app I've ever used and the most recent version completely destroys it by moving the alarms onto a different page among other things. Lightbow although a bit messy looking gives more control of colours and makes scenes more interesting ie you can fade colours before the scene sets which is nice. The biggest improvement is that my bloom lamps work properly for the first time since I got the hue system. Phillips "support" said it was my fault for placing them in the wrong place. This app fixes that so I'm pleased. It loses a star for the weird interface and one for the fact the alarms don't work unless the app is running. Who leaves their ipad with an app running? ✓ Issues with Lights, UI, Support and PriceFirst issue is lights. I turn off certain lights because I don't want the presets using them. The app turns them back on! It's like it looks at the bridge and says "That is the state of the light I'll use, instead of issuing them commands" If in the app I turn OFF a given light, even if someone turns ON that light via Alexa or Hue, the APP should IGNORE it, not go and use it. Ugh! Second, buying presets is terrible, because after you do there is NO interface for "Here is what you have purchased!" You literally have to go through each and EVERY preset button just to see what you have bought. If you buy say 2 or 3 but can't remember which ones you have to click them all tomfind what you bought! Third, some presets don't even work all the time. Fireworks works sometimes, othertimes it doesn't! I contacted support 4 weeks ago twice, no reply back. Finally, each pack is 5 bucks. If you want all the presets, it's flipp'in expensive! I DO like the sounds + lights but this whole app setup is just plain terrible..Version: 2.9.4
