Each song has its own beauty in different ways, to be honest I can play a song for a thousand times or so. I played it first on my old LG G3 way back then and when I finally got an iPhone, it was the first6game I bought because I knew how much fun this game was. It has changed visuals a lot since it first release, but it has only gotten better. More songs, more story, more everything to this game. I'm glad to have been apart of its growth from when it was nothing all the way till now when it's about to have a movie. To me, playing some songs remind me of certain times in my life, that's how long I've been playing this game. I was never too big into rhythm games or anything, but this game is a huge exception. ✓ DLC difficultyThis game is perfect and all but since Rayark released the new dlc and adding a new difficulty to songs when you unlock the charts, some of the songs require 3 or more fingers which I find ridiculous considering I've played this game for a good 3 years now and only ever needed to use my 2 thumbs. ✓ Beautiful songs, could do with some system updatesI love this game, I can play piano songs to challenge my motor reflexes and my grandma enjoys hearing some of the songs. The only improvement I would make is having the available songs and the songs that aren’t bought on different menus, sometimes I have to scroll across quite a few of the new locked songs to get to the album I like. Maybe similar to the tree option at the start of the album collection having all the un bought songs in there and the songs available in the main group. ✓ Patience is blissI have played and known about Deemo since I was 12. I never had the closure to finally play the game entirely until this year. It’s been 6 years but I finally finished the game today. And I’ll say this- it gets a little tedious at the start to get the tree to grow to certain heights in order to progress to the story, but it is worth every second and time to play this game. Deemo is a lot like a fairy tale of some sort- it had beautiful graphics, the soundtrack is beautiful, and I just love everything about this game. 2 dollars for a game that has one of the most beautiful and emotional stories out there is a steal! I’m in love with this game and I’m so happy to have finally finished this game and finished the second chapter of Deemo 2 today. There are endless choices of music; I have never run out of songs to play. Game updates are always full of new content and music. The art is beautiful and you can tell that somebody poured themselves into each and every image. Although some might say thats its too expensive and that it takes up too much space, YOU WILL NOT REGRET BUYING. ✓ Beautiful in every senseDeemo is just that kind of game that you don’t really expect to be that good, but that when you finish it you understand how good can a simple game be. Deemo is a rhythm based game, kind of a piano tiles game but made more custom to every song. In most rhythm games you get a certain amount of lines where the notes will be going, but in Deemo you don’t really have a certain amount of lines, it just feels like playing a mini-piano. The music is beautiful and really makes you enjoy playing it, to the point where you feel like a pianist playing in front of a stage. It also has a storyline which is beautiful in every way. The illustrations are delightful, and the music that goes along with it makes it even better. ✓ Perfect, Absolutely PerfectWhenever I feel really stressed out or enraged with anger I play Deemo and I feel like I'm actually the one playing the piano. The sounds are just fabulous, even though most of the songs I can't understand it's refreshing. My most favourite songs are the Jumping Star and Reflection. Another thing is that the animation is well made and unique unlike other games like Magic Piano. Anyway, it's another thing I like about this app is that you don't have to wait for the music to load, the moment you press play the music is READY. ✓ Favorite App of All TimeI’ve been playing Deemo since 2014, if I remember correctly, and it’s still my favorite app of all time. The music is amazing, the art is beautiful, and the story to go with it is unique. It’s well worth the couple dollars that it costs to say the least. The game takes a lot of practice to get good at, but the music is so good that it makes improvement fun rather than strenuous and annoying. I do think that any songs past level 8 difficulty become a bit excessive for me, but I’m sure there are people out there who relish the challenge. I’m also a bit disappointed that there is some lag, but it’s minimal enough to not cause any major problems. It is very easy to get invested in these sweet characters and their mysterious world. A heads-up to players: the ending credits song is sung by the masked lady, I think. (You'll understand when you get there.) Also, I think this is a translation issue, but if you're playing with young kids, be aware that there's a single, very out of place bad word in the game. I thought it just sounded silly, and otherwise, this is a good game for young children, though you might have to be older to enjoy the plot. ✓ Probably the best rhythm game released to this day.This review will probably be biased but I’ll try my best to keep things objective. This game is easily in my top 5 games of ALL time. Such a beautiful and entertaining game. I got this game years ago and played it every single day to and from uni for 2 - 3 years. So I’ve got a lot of time in it. At first it was a little difficult to get into it, the piano and the music didn’t feel like it synced properly but that was purely my own fault as this style of music makes complete sense when you get the hang of it. The art, UI and gameplay are perfect and clean. NO bugs encountered through out my different phones, crashed very rarely in my iPhone 4. The songs are honestly beautiful, I never was really into this style until the gameplay sucked me in and then everything fell into place after that. Mastering a song feels amazing, you genuinely feel like you are playing piano in these pieces. There is so much content too, with new albums you can buy coming out when you least expect it! So there has to be down sides right? Well the story is fantastic, art and theme is beautiful, gameplay is smooth and addicting so what is the problem? The only issue is buying more albums is costly, if I remember correctly it’s about 6 or 7 bucks for 4 - 6 songs. You can buy songs individually which I ended up doing, don’t worry you get to have a listen to the song before you buy it though. This is a 100% no brainer if you enjoy rhythm games. Sure, there are plenty of bonus songs that you do have to buy, but it gives you a frankly staggering amount of content with your initial purpose, and the replay value is through the roof. ✓ THE best app to buy! - 2 -FOR CURRENT VERSION Speechless. Rayark, once again, has astounded me for their music, storyline and artwork in this musical game. The story itself has brought me emotions that not many apps can make one feel. I have a younger brother who I introduced to this app and he, like myself, absolutely loves it. This app had done the impossible and made us closer as siblings. The part that impacted me the most was the ending (Don't worry, I shall not say a single word about it for those who have not seen it!) I return home and there my brother was actually CRYING while staring at his iPad screen (A boy who loves Xbox 360/One, enjoys the violence and makes fun of sad scenes) I asked him what was wrong and all I got in response was a hug and a sob which I could only make out to have said, "I finished the game." ✓ Better than you thinkAt first I was a bit put off by the icon but I tried it and I'm so glad I did. The really special thing about it is the music. The pieces are truly inspiring and are absolutely incredible. The composers put a lot of effort into it. The one if the best things about this game is that it doesn't really seem like one. It's very relaxing and the bonus storyline is great too. It's more like and interactive book than an actual game. I played a song and then my phone locked, so I unlocked it and everything was gone. I've spent at least 30 hours on this game and seeing it all gone makes me feel horrible. Now all of the collections I had are gone and all of my scores are gone. I've already played through the story twice and I really don't want to again so I guess I won't be playing this anymore. ✓ Phenomenal!I first downloaded and played deemo in 2012, and i must say this rhythm game is lacking absolutely nowhere. Amazing, heart-wrenching storyline and top-notch gameplay, a treasure trove of content, you will not be disappointed. (Fyi broken hourglass is dlc, completely worth it, extends story and gives valuable character and story information as well as many many new songs.) Except for restoring broken hourglass progress on a re-download. For some reason my deemo was acting like it was downloading and installing rather than updating when I tried to update it yesterday, and it wouldn’t even work so i deleted and re-downloaded it. However all of my broken hourglass songs are not restored when i synced deemo with game-center, and my saika ex score is at zero so I know it doesn’t sync progress on broken hourglass songs. I wish rayark’s deemo team would make the dlc content backed up like the normal songs. I often must delete things for space, i only have 16gb on my phone after all, so unfortunately i have to be on and off with deemo. I just am commenting on one issue I have which is in the shattered memories packs the pacing of the notes sounds weird. Like when I hit a note that’s charming it’s not going at the same time as the background music, so the song sounds like it’s playing at different tempos and it’s confusing. I remember there being a problem like this in the past but I don’t remember how to fix it, so I’m leaving it in a review. I recently finished the game within a few days and it's definitely one of the more memorable ones, if not the most beautiful mobile game you'll surely remember the journey to. Deemo is a rhythm game, with different available collections of albums and songs to each with three difficultly modes-easy, normal and hard. As you fly through the beautiful songs, the tree will continue to grow and then the stairs until Deemo returns to her world. The game has amazing songs, plot, ending, a gorgeous art style and is addictive. If you want to move on faster, there will be rooms you can enter after unlocking it with glowing orbs that'll spawn, which gives you extra height for the tree/staircase. Also after some period of time, you'll need to go through the different rooms to activate things. I absolutely love Deemo and it's definitely my favorite. I’d say that this game would be perfect if it was always free, although usually there is a 3 dollars paywall normally. I had the Nintendo Switch version before getting the app, but all of the songs I saw on that version were pretty good. If you only buy the main game, you can keep the game pretty fresh, but only if you play every song given to you. But if your willing to throw some money at this game, then do that, especially if you get the Forgotten Hourglass DLC, because it adds a lot of different things to do, but it gets boring to progress if you don’t have new songs to play. ✓ The Best Game On The App StoreSo I got this game in 7th grade. 6 years later and I’m in college and still play this game at least once a week. I cannot recommend how good this game is and how much it is worth the money. The story is great, the gameplay is great, and the music is great. Given that I’ve played as long as I did (with some breaks here and there) you would think I’ve ran out of content, but there are still challenging songs and songs that I can barely even pass. And because there are so many good songs there are always 6-7 good songs that are perfectly within your difficulty. As far as other rhythm games (Cytus I/II, Phigros, Arcaea) it’s this one I always come back to. Cytus I is ridiculously unforgiving. Cytus II is rediculously forgiving. Phigros is fun but all the challenging maps are gimmicky and if you play them enough you’ll eventually get a score if you want. Arcaea is impossible to play at high difficulty on phone. Deemo, however, is different. Difficult maps feel possible on phone, and there’s no better feeling than getting a score you’re happy with. So please. Buy the game AND the Forgotten Hourglass. They caused the game’s frame rate to significantly tank whenever there are too many sliding notes on screen and that really hurts the game because it affects gameplay drastically. Deemo on it's own comes with nearly 30 songs but most of these have to be unlocked and if you are abstinent about looking up a wiki, some may be hard to find. In the end, selling deemo for £1.50 is in my eyes a gamble as they hope that base package will be enough to encourage you to buy their extra songs...and it was a gamble that payed off as two days after I bought the game I'd bought the extras and though I haven't bought the new song packs (nicked my brothers iPad to play them all more than he has though) I'm eyeing all 6 new packs for Christmas. For someone who rarely plays rhythm games, I greatly enjoy deemo. On easier difficulties it can be a good tutor to those new to the game and at hard difficulty settings it can be amazingly complex and a great challenge. The music is all great, aside from a few disdainful songs that don't even have piano in them *cough*hey boy*cough* the music is so good that I've actually downloaded some songs to listen to without the game. I discovered when it was the App of the Week, but this app has surpassed all other Apps of the Week that I can remember. There are only two bugs that I've experienced - no sound and instant failing of the game when you play a piece of music, but I've only had it twice - and both are fixed by closing all apps and restarting Deemo. I'd criticise about IAPs (who wouldn't), and how they seem to be pretty expensive, but believe me, the starting songs are plentiful and immersive enough as it is. I would also complain with the length of the story, but that's only because I became so immersed into their world that I want to know what comes up next. ✓ Fun but frustratingThis game peaked my interest by including a wide variety of fun songs and challenging rhythms and setting it all to a wonderful, albeit minimal, storyline. Don’t get me wrong, Deemo is a wonderful game and I don’t regret buying it. That being said, as I’ve gotten further along in the game, my desire as a completionist to finish songs with full “charming” combos has brought about a small sense of loathing. The game is waaaaay too finicky about what counts as a charming note or not, especially considering it doesn’t include a musical staff and it doesn’t count measures. You can only fully complete a song through either experimenting with timing, fully memorizing the song by playing it over and over, or by somehow managing to perfectly set your synchronization (the settings there are awful and confusing). If you don’t care about charming and just enjoy getting full combos, that’s still perfectly doable for the average driven player. However, you have to go the extra 500 miles (or be extremely talented/lucky) to even have a chance with charming. ✓ A returning “veteran”’s thoughtsI first played Deemo around 8 years ago when i was but a wee widdle boy in his 5th grade, and it was because of this game that invoked an interest in music for me. I was somewhat heartbroken to have found that the game had unintentionally uninstalled itself due to a bug that is now fixed. By then I had about 2 years of experience in Deemo and i absolutely enjoyed my time during the experience. The music is amazing in all aspects and the game, although challenging, is very fun because of the very well illustrated story line. Fastforward several years, i am now graduating highschool and have reinstalled Deemo to find that the game is still giving the same pleasurable experience i had all those years ago and some very nostalgic music at the same time. ✓ An absolute must buy.It's rare that a game comes out on a mobile device that captures your heart so easily. Most games I get bored of within a few weeks and never pick it up again as few mobile games have much immersion. This game; Deemo, is not one of those, it is absolutely guaranteed to keep you immersed, in every aspect of the game. The art is beautifully drawn and widely varies from simple to masterwork across the board, some picture also has a hidden story in it that as you progress through the games story you start to connect the dots and see the hidden meanings behind some of the art work- I particularly love this aspect of it. Next is the storyline- you wouldn't expect a rhyme game to have a story- I didn't when I first picked this up- but boy was I wrong, the story is beautifully written and easily defeats many story's of console games that have millions invested into them, it has clearly seen time and effort put into it and he ending moved me to tears. Finally, there is the music. My god. The music is incredible; massively varied across many genres with a very large selection of which is free; a lot of extra albums must be purchased but it's not overpriced and it gives you a lot in return- as well as helping out the artists whom worked hard to produce them.
