Ovia Pregnancy & Baby Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Great appFound this app via my employer. Really great app. It tracks food, weight, symptoms and many other things. App has many articles that are informative and educational. I love how I can track the babies weekly and gives you information about the baby on a day to day basis. Overall a great app. I would highly recommend. I gave it three stars because even though my settings were set for multiples the app followed a single birth pregnancy. It really doesn’t cater to twins. It would of been cool if my home page was automatically set with multiples pictures with two sets of hands and feet. I would of enjoyed opening the app and seeing two babies next to each other with an idea of how big they are at the current week. Adding my babies names to the app was VERY disappointing because it only allowed me to put it one name. It also doesn’t list all of the complications in pregnancy nor can you add it. It is a bit annoying. Same goes for medications. Other than that app is great. I would highly recommend..Version: 4.1.18

Inaccurate, inconsistent, unedited. It’s frustrating how inaccurate and inconsistent the information in the app is. I received a notification saying that baby’s eyes were fused shut and won’t open again for a couple months. Three days later, I got a notification saying that in the next week, baby’s eyes would be fusing shut. …So which is it? I was very disappointed in how biased towards OB’s, hospitals, and medications this app is. As one who has had very bad experiences with OB’s, it would be nice to see better information on here that supports midwives TOO. I’m not saying they need to switch sides, I just want greater support for women who choose natural labor, a home birth, and holistic care in general. One article gives pros and cons for hospital and birth center births, but deters women away from home birth. It’s very unsupportive of different options, and doesn’t provide accurate information to give women an idea of all the options that are out there. It’s also appalling how many grammar mistakes are in the articles. My mother is an English teacher, as was my Grandma, and I started my schooling in English. 80% of the people in my classes were going into editing. Come on Ovia! Hire an actual editor! Overall, you’d do best to go with a different app. I’ve started going to the What to Expect website for real information, and have only used this app to keep track of my prenatal vitamin every day..Version: 4.7.8

Too wokeI’m tired of absolutely everything having to be so woke. Instead saying pregnant women they say pregnant folks, this is ridiculous! It’s belittling to women everywhere! NO! ONLY WOMEN CAN CARRY A CHILD AND GIVE BIRTH! I also didn’t like how they said my growing baby is becoming a human. As if they aren’t already human and making it seem their life isn’t valuable. News flash. Most women who use this app and want to read how their babies grow think of their child as a living human (which they are). How dare you lesson our babies value just because they’re in the womb! Deleting app. Going to find an app with more accurate information that’s more worried about giving accurate information than being woke..Version: 5.6.0

Crashes all the timeWhen you first tap on it to open it, it crashes multiple times before being successful. Once opened, it takes time to load the info but once you're there the app is a good one. I used the fertility one and thought it was good so stuck with it once we had conceived. It is a good app, good layout and plenty of useful information despite it being American predominantly so often healthcare advice is not relatable in the U.K. but the rest is like breastfeeding advice and healthy recipes. I love the growing hand and foot prints and the weekly baby development. The forum is great too, it has an international community and it's anonymous..Version: 4.0.2

Keeps saying “she”Annoyed with the gender thing. It’s like they tried to make the app geared only towards female babies. I’m having a boy and I can’t change the way it words things on the app. The daily updates are still calling him a “her” and talking about her ovaries developing. It drives me nuts. Deleted..Version: 4.6.2

Great, but ..Great app but I don’t like that even tho I’ve put I’m having multiples and that their gender is unknown that the feed doesn’t reflect that. It refers to baby as “she and her” and if I want weekly updates on multiples I have to click in separately instead of it just updating and only showing me the multiples since I’ve put in the app that that’s what I’m having..Version: 5.3.0

Peach?Oh come on - I turned on the app and all of the sudden pink is gone and there’s peach and teal, blue and green for a colour choice? What idiot thought that was a good idea Do pink and blue green and peach if you want to please everyone, but just flat out taking out pink? Hitting the degree of politically correct that is so nauseating I don’t even wanna be a part of your app anymore..Version: 5.10.1

Won’t let me log inMade an account, logged in through Facebook, wouldn’t bring me to the next page after it loaded the log-in, won’t let me make a new account, “invalid credentials” Tried deleting and re-downloading the app, same problems.Version: 4.4.2

Signup is a hassle for meI cant even sign up or login… filled in all requirements and it still says “FILL ALL REQUIREMENTS TO CONTINUE” 🥴.Version: 5.7.0

It’s a great app but ...Don’t get me wrong, this is one of my favorite pregnancy apps out there! I use it a lot to keep track of my baby’s growth, my upcoming doctor appointments, and so much more!! That being said, let me explain why I gave this app 3/5 stars ... THE COMMUNITY CAN BE TOTALLY TOXIC!! Being a new mommy-to-be, I do admit, I can ask a lot of questions about simple things that every already mommy will know. But not me! I barely know all the right things and the wrong things to do! And having almost every comment on my questions being another soon-to-be mother/already a mother belittle me?? It’s not okay!! I really wish there was a way to block someone or multiple people from commenting on my questions. It really tears me down to hear by multiple other people how stupid you are when all you’re trying to do is ask a simple question??? I don’t understand. Please do something about this developers. Other than that, the app is great. And don’t get me wrong, there really can be some great, polite and helpful people on this app!! Just a few rotten apples... thank you!!.Version: 4.2.5

Brilliant in some ways not so terrible in othersLoved some aspects of the app but ended up deleting it towards the end of my pregnancy. Really liked the size visuals & little articles but the community section can be very unhealthy when you are hormonal & vulnerable. Also the target audience seems to be the US so a lot of the information can differ to what the NHS provides which can be confusing at best, dangerous at worst. Another issue I had was the constant badgering for me to log my weight. Would be nice if there was a way to turn this off completely. If I wanted toxic diet culture I’d download MyFitnessPal..Version: 4.3.0

Good but....It’s relatively informative and a pretty good app. Easy to use. I’m always excited to read what’s new this week however.... it doesn’t have a dad option. Also it doesn’t have an option to change the count down without changing the due date... there are many women who have planned c sections and their birth date is quite a bit sooner than their 40 week mark.... I wish I could make the count down day the same as my delivery day (38+6).Version: 4.6.4

Some helpful features, but lax moderation makes it frustratingThe app works as a serviceable pregnancy tracker, with better health tracking features than comparable apps, which I appreciate! However, the question portion of the app — meant to be a source of support for new moms — has such lax moderation that it is extremely frustrating to use. There has been a surge of rampant anti vax misinfo on the app lately, and there has been no moderation of extreme anti vax posts and comments. Even today, I saw a comment which was allowed to remain where someone said babies dying of vaccine preventable illnesses was just “God’s will.” At the same time, pro vaccine comments are repeatedly removed, presumably by anti vax users constantly flagging them, without any proper review by the app of the actual flagged content. A toxic, anti-science, and anti-truth environment often takes over what should be a source of support and community for expecting parents. This would be preventable through responsible moderation of the app, but that infrastructure is not currently in place..Version: 5.12.0

Great app apart from accessibility issuesOut of all the pregnancy tracker apps I have tried, this app has so far been the best. Love getting daily updates of how my baby is doing and being able to read what is happening every week. It’s also very cool being able to look up all the articles whenever I have a question. However, there is only one complaint I have and it’s around accessibility. When it comes to the tool for tracking nutrition, mental, weight etc, This app does not work with iPhone voice-over. I would like to keep track of a few things but because of that, I am an able to As whenever I go to try typing into an art insert box, it blocks me out And I end up having to get someone cited to do it which is a bit annoying..Version: 4.2.4

The bestSuch a great app. My most favourite thing to do when I wake up is to check Ovia for the new daily updates on my baby’s development. So very informative and such a cute layout. Only issue- I post questions and my questions never seem to get air time so I never get any replies. Can be very frustrating. Updated review- still happening- my posts never get seen!!.Version: 4.0.4

FeedbackCan you add in if you’ve had sex (not just sex drive) and cervical fluid consistency (not just if there are changes). Otherwise a great app!.Version: 5.0.3

Does not handle pregnancy loss in a good wayI’m leaving this review in the hopes that the developers will take this as feedback and consider making this app more friendly for people who have experienced pregnancy loss. I’ve used this app to keep track of my two pregnancies that both ended with miscarriages. I was devastated the first time and honestly the app made me feel worse. The design flow off the app needs to better consider users who are going through this and maybe give them the option to delete their data or archive it so they can refer back to it but not have their lost pregnancy in their face after reporting the loss. Also the language in the app telling women how big their baby should be and milestones are worded as if it’s 100% true. Instead of saying “your baby is the size of x” I think it should be worded like “your baby might be…” “is possibly” because there is variation in development and it set me up to be disappointed when I went for my ultrasound and the app was so wrong. Using the app after a loss made me annoyed at the certainty of the language and I take it all with a grain of salt. Maybe apps like this aren’t for me. Just please interview people like me and try to make it a better experience for us. Thanks.Version: 4.7.7

Won’t save my pregnancyI used this app for my first pregnancy and loved it. But the second time around it won’t save my pregnancy so I have no feed or anything..Version: 5.8.0

Great, but needs a UK versionI like this app and I find it a lot more factual and useful than a lot of apps that are available. However, much of the content from recipes in cups to health care information and the antenatal and postnatal care varies between the apps prompts and what actually takes place during regular appointments here in the UK, for example being asked if cervical measurement have been taken. The MyQ insights are another aspect which isn’t particularly useful as many questions, especially those surrounding maternity pay/ leave, are very different in the UK compared to America, like wise with health care insurence related questions. Other than this, I like the way the app works and looks and I find it simple to use. I particularly enjoy looking at the stages of development which are taking place within my tummy 😁..Version: 4.1.13

Poorly executedThe app does not let me personalize my profile. I just found out I’m pregnant and it says I’m 42 weeks along and it won’t let me edit my information..Version: 4.6.4

2 days before due date- endorsing EpiduralHow horrible to receive one of my daily updates which starts with the statement Labour isn’t fun, that’s why it’s not called ‘playtime’ but lucky there is pain relief options.... how about different women’s choices and health care options and not wanting an Epidural. I deleted the app the minute I got this. I don’t need this negativity!.Version: 4.1.7

Repetitive and impersonalIt’s handy for tracking weeks but all pregnancy apps do that. The “community” section is extremely frustrating and seems completely fabricated..Version: 4.2.5

Great app but needs to have more accessible languageI really like this app and will continue to use it through this pregnancy however it is definitely American. The healthcare system in Canada is completely different so that can be annoying. My only big grievance I have is that the language that is used to describe health symptoms and medication is not very accessible. I work in healthcare and rule of thumb is to write as if the reader was at a grade 6 reading level. For example “flatulence”… why not just say “gassy” or “farting a lot” lol. I also am not a big fan of the community portion of the app..Version: 5.1.0

Flawed But Decent AppI wish there were more theme options because I don’t seem to know hardly any of the things it is relating to the size of my baby in any of the themes. I wish that under medications it would let you put in a medication even if the system doesn’t notice it because they don’t have some of mine listed. Lastly, for sleep and activity it would be nice to be able to add the information in later because if you sync a Fitbit and wake up in the middle of the night it doesn’t record all of your sleep just that first part and the step count is rarely ever consistent with what I’ve got on my Fitbit. If we could go back in and change the wrong information it would be such a better app. I actually deleted the Fitbit sync because the wrong information drives me crazy. Developers definitely need to put in work to fix the concerns of the users but other than that it is a nice app and I like the way it is set up..Version: 4.1.8

Requesting highly private info - how is it shared? When reporting a birth it is absurd how much information they “require” from you. Baby name, date, sex, weight, time, length, birth type, location, who performed delivery, complications - these are all mandatory fields. This is an INSANE info grab of highly personal information. How is this private information used? Who do you share it with? Unfortunately will be deleting the app. Change the required info at birth to simply the date - nothing else is necessary..Version: 4.7.2

Excellent appNot one to leave reviews. Ovia app is amazing first I used the fertility app which was also amazing. Then I logged a pregnancy and it downloaded this app. This app has let me explore many features. Log appointments Log feelings/symptoms Search for symptoms and it’s got a search food check. There’s lots of updates on what the baby can do and what the baby looks like. Loads of useful information it’s an amazing app. If your pregnant you would be daft not to have it!.Version: 4.2.6

The app needs to be more inclusiveIt is very frustrating not to see my queer family represented in the app. The pics are always of a man and woman and makes reference to only one type of family: one man and one woman. What if i am a single parent?what if i am a queer family? Please improve because our families exist..Version: 4.6.0

Good but could be betterThis app definitely has a ton of useful features and is great for tracking a LOT of things. However, I really wish it would let you put in your own medications to track and also not just suggest 3 medications you regularly input. For instance, I take probiotics daily and there isn’t even an option for that (which is a common supplement), plus I take other supplements not listed. Let me input my own to record please. I also take more than 3 things every day but it only shows me 3 options and then I have to manually search for everything else every single day. Meanwhile it suggests like 6 of the top medicines people take all the time, but I don’t take any of those so they just take up space where I would rather see MY top 6. I also wish I could add multiple meds or symptoms without being spit back out to the data page after every single one. Let me select everything and then hit done so I don’t have to keep coming back into the symptom or med tracker and hitting search over and over. There are other minor annoyances with the UI too, one being that it often glitches and shows me the data tab at the bottom of the calendar screen even though I selected the notes tab. And when you try to view the trends graphs, you can’t zoom out to view the whole graph; you can only see like 2 dots on it at a time. Just feels like the app could use an upgrade and a slight UI makeover..Version: 4.7.01

Great App- but glitches every few weeksThe app itself is great. I’ve used it since the beginning of pregnancy (I’m 27 weeks now) and every few weeks the app asks me to sign-in again (despite my using it daily). When this happens, I go through a cycle where the app tells me my password isn’t working, I send a link to my email to reset it, I set a new password, and the new password doesn’t work for the next day or two. It’s frustrating. It does not appear to be linked in any way to any app updates. I now use another app in addition to this one, since I can never be sure I’ll be able to access the data I’ve recorded in this app..Version: 4.6.6

Feels like a constant surveyI’m sure the way they monetize is by sharing user data. They constantly are asking questions like “do you struggle with mental health?” “Have you ever had a miscarriage?” “How many children do you have?” Not just on the main page, but there is a whole page dedicated to survey questions! Yay! Exactly what my pregnant, tired, sad, self wants to do when I’m looking for a little support and place not to feel so crazy. Answer really personal questions that are shared with, who knows?:D The answer section doesn’t even become a forum where pregnant mommas can discuss and support each other until you literally fill out the bubble form survey to answer the questions. I love the daily updates you get on the baby, but when you constantly feel like you’re being scraped for data it really puts a haze over your enjoyment of the app. Oh. And the adds. The adds that are “research articles” and are every other picture on the main feed. I get the app has to make money, but there’s gotta be a more user-kind way..Version: 4.1.9

Gave up on this appHad the period app for a really long time and it worked great. This one has deleted the information three times and everytime I try to log in, it won’t allow me too. Gave up and found a new app..Version: 4.6.0

Basic app full of adsThis is not a helpful app- your can google a better update on your pregnancy in 1.2 seconds than you can find it in this app. Full of ads and full of generic info on the most basic formula options etc. If this app were truly offering valuable information they would be comparing ingredients of similac formula to that of newer more progressive formulas on the market and providing actual valuable info for people growing children to make decisions. But instead they take those ad dollars and feed you whatever from whomever pays them. Same with diapers- why are we not seeing articles of the ingredients of diapers instead of just being told pampers is the best? Anyway- waste of time, not helpful and clearly mining your info when it asks if you take prenatal vitamins everyday, if you’ve been diagnosed with preeclampsia etc. skip the app until someone gets on the team to make it progressive enough to be worthwhile and not the most basic thing on earth..Version: 5.6.0

Confusing terminologyWhen reading an Ovia article on preeclampsia, I read “this condition can be life-threatening to an expecting parent.” Which parent?!? Is my partner at risk?!? If they had written “the pregnant woman” or “the expecting mother” I would have understood the message. This same “pregnant parent” type of language is used all over in Ovia. It is confusing and it makes me feel like my womanhood and motherhood are not valued. In their attempt to make a marginalized minority feel included, they have taken the effectiveness out of their words. Pregnancy is already confusing, and as an expecting mother I feel overwhelmed with info. Why not make it easier to understand? Why must I read and then re-read the same information multiple times because of the confusing words they use? I also dislike how the app wants so much of my personal info. I would rather pay for an app that keeps my private health info private, rather than something free like this that is eager to make a profit off my health worries..Version: 5.11.0

What a waste of a good appI’ve used all the Ovia apps available for many years. And recently without warning I was completely removed from the chats due to apparently not following guidelines. The chat function was the main reason I used The app, to ask for and help with advice during my subsequent pregnancies. When contacting Ovia and asking for reasoning behind this, as I’ve never gone outside the rules and regulations I was met with an automated message that provided no information. And I remain banned. Luckily I’m 38 weeks pregnant and no longer require the app. This app system has gone downhill over the past few years anyway, it used to be so handy and helpful. But now you’re met with a company who have no customer service skills, and worry very little about those who are using their services. Good riddance. Much better apps out there than this..Version: 5.4.0

HorribleWay to medical. All they do is push vaccines. Ridiculous and total brainwashing.Version: 4.7.0

ProblemsIt won’t let me create an accoutn keeps asking to fill in required even though i already did.Version: 4.4.8

So helpful, but so slow...I’ve used multiple pregnancy apps for tracking my pregnancy and Ovia is my favorite! It’s the only one I use now. The information and tools it provides for you is so helpful, and I like the option it gives you to pick a theme for your baby’s size comparison (I chose animals, and my baby is a platypus this week - so cute!). The community of mothers on here also seems to be a bit kinder than what I’ve witnessed on other apps, more willing to be helpful and supportive and keep judgements to themselves. Even if someone expresses a difference of opinion from the current thread, they’re just nicer about it than other message boards I’ve seen. My ONLY issue with the app is that it’s difficult to actually get into. Each time I open it the loading screen is up for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Sometimes it’ll close me out of the app before loading. Sometimes it’ll load my dashboard or the message board but it’ll be frozen so I can’t actually click on or scroll through anything. It’s a great informational tool, but it can be kinda buggy..Version: 4.3.2

Overall usefulI wish there was an option to turn off the reminders for weight and exercise tracking and some of the other health anxiety promoting features. It’s not great for women with eating disorders or health anxiety..Version: 4.7.0

Weird hyper focus on depressionIt’s like 50% of its info is about how you must have some mental health problem and crap articles like “how to maintain boundaries” that are insultingly infantilizing. Also, info on baby growth by week doesn’t match Wikipedia or other apps so is rather suspect. Worse, info on what’s safe to eat or what drugs are safe is not in agreement with the latest science. It seems to think lots of things are safe that aren’t. But the cute animals are cute, and I guess it’s nice that you can put symptoms data in although there’s no way to see trends so kinda not useful..Version: 4.7.01

Great idea, few additions would be greatJust transitioned over from Ovia (stage 1 - TTC) looks great so far just wish there were a few easier tings in the community section. Wish there was a way to easily find what you'd already commented on, they don't always show at the bottom of the scrolling section and I don't want to have to go through all the new ones, sometimes I just want to check on ones I've answered... so maybe a tab for new questions, a tab for questions I've commented on then the tab for questions I've asked. Also be great if there was a private messaging option (even if people wanted to opt out or in by the settings) but not great to have to give out your email in a post just to keep in touch with someone... But enjoying logging in lots.Version: 4.1.2

Inaccurate info and not just on the community sectionSame issue as with the fertility app: inaccurate information from the people who run the app and beyond ridiculous advice from the community board. I’d love to know the credentials of the creators, I appreciate they’re unlikely to be medical professionals but do they even have a standard level of education? As for the community, the only good thing is that, as a FTM, it’s reassuring to log on and realise that some people are totally clueless (or just self-obsessed and horrible) and as long as you possess a bit of common sense and some morals, you’ll be fine..Version: 4.1.17

Sizes are out of syncLove the app but the sizes for the weeks of pregnancy are wrong. Week six says size of a blueberry when that should be week 7 and raspberry should be week 8 etc. Week six should be the size of a lentil, pomegranate seed or similar. So I am now in week 7 and it says My baby is the size of a raspberry when I know that is not the case, a raspberry is much larger than 1.2cm (this is more the size of a blueberry). Please update this to align properly with the actual sizes..Version: 4.5.12

Love it but....I have really enjoyed this app a lot! I love seeing different things that my baby is the size of each week. The last 2-3 months though have been very frustrating!! Every single time I first try to open the app, the loading page appears for a good 30-40 seconds and then the app just closes itself. Usually trying a second time works just fine, but now there have been a couple days over the past week where the app will just keep closing itself no matter how many times i try! First of all the loading page lasts way too long... second of all why should i have this app taking up space on my phone if it is just going to choose not to work whenever it feels like it! One of the couple days i had just mentioned, i was at the store and wanted to use the food safety lookup...in Heinz sight i should have just used safari because i knew even if it was working like usual (second try access success) that would still be a full minute or more of waiting for it to just load!!! Safari takes less than a quarter of that time! Please fix this problem as i still love everything else about this app!.Version: 4.0.5

Too much focus on food and weightI really like the educational articles and other similar features in the app. The videos are also very well done. Although, I was a little disappointed to see such a focus on diet and exercise. Promoting an unrealistic ideal for not just pregnant women but women in general, which can be counter productive. Like we talk about best as parenting, perhaps we could be talking about best as nutrition?! Achieving the best we can do should be the focus, rather than the gold standard. I’m sorry to be such a negative nelly, but it seems like each day I open the app to some message about the latest superfood or super salad. However, my review is not all criticism. The element of praise for the efforts made with including variety in our diet and the types of exercise we do is not completely unhelpful. I like how the app highlights in the individual feedback the physiological value of different exercises in relation to pregnancy..Version: 4.1.15

Ridiculous rules...Apparently, if you simply disagree with someone in the community feature...you’ll get the boot from them. I used this app on both my previous pregnancy and in my current one, and both times had comments reported and I was kicked out...seriously for respectfully disagreeing with someone’s opinion/comment. It’s so silly. There are people on here who are genuinely rude and hurtful, and they go completely unchecked. Try weeding those people out first before removing people that are just trying to be helpful to the FTMs. Do not recommend this app to ANYONE..Version: 4.5.1

There are problems that should be easily fixedI got this app, along with a bunch of other apps, when I took the test and found out I was pregnant. I’m now nine weeks, and this app is one I use everyday. Now I like it for many reason, it’s cute, it’s easy to navigate and use, and it has the potential to be very useful when a few things get fixed. The sleep tracking, I can track more than one stretch of sleep a night. So if I wake up say at 2 am and can’t get back to sleep until 4am, but I slept from 10pm-2am and 4am to 7am, it’ll say I only got three hours of sleep that night. That includes if I want to track naps. In the day to day it says my running total but on the graph it only graphs my last stretch of sleep. Also the hours are horrendous wrong sometimes. Just this morning I tried to track last nights sleep from 10:30pm to 7:30 am and it said 21 hours? That’s ridiculous it was 9 hours. And yes I double checked my am/pm they were correct. So that all could use fixing. The constantly asking me of vaginal bleeding and other pop up questions that I’m going to input later, like my prenatals. There should be an option to shut that off (like a don’t ask again pop up maybe) And the feet/hands thing. Is that really accurate size? I hope that’s comparable on all phones, and isn’t something that changes depending on what iPhone or Samsung you have..Version: 4.5.2

What about dad.Great app for moms but dads are just as curious and interested to know what’s going on. The app should ask you weather you are the mom or the dad and keep you informed accordingly..Version: 4.1.18

Fear mongering and inaccurateThis is my second pregnancy and using this app has been hilarious. The advice given is often sensationalist and seems designed to create a heightened sense of fear and neurosis in an expectant mother, over something that is totally natural. Lots of the content is inaccurate, and some just hilarious (images of mothers supposedly just given birth in hospital where the baby is clearly 6 months old!). Very little to allow you to tailor info for your situation, ie planned homebirth or midwife led, planned natural pregnancy versus high intervention. This makes the content average at best. I’d recommend looking to other sources for support..Version: 4.1.16

Missing search bar in the article sectionIt used to be better with search bar once you were looking for an article, it helped finding faster what you need. Now, you need to expand particular sections?.Version: 5.13.0

Community feature needs to be improvedI love this app, it’s great I can see what’s going on in my body, if my symptoms are normal, babies development and it keeps my super informed. I do have 1 problem with this app, the community where we can ask questions. Your inbox fills you up with a bunch of questions to answer from other moms and sometimes the app. The problem is there’s no organization. As a first time mom whose due in December I see questions from moms later in their pregnancy and I’m wanting to view their answers to questions so I know what to expect but I can’t view the questions answers unless I answer her question, how is that helping moms? I’m having to answer a question that I don’t know anything about. It should be like a mini social media platform. Where there’s a feed and I can make it to where I can see question from people the same weeks as me, or their be different categories not random question popping up. The inbox should be used for notifications when somebody replies to your comment or somebody else replies on the post. Also the questions from the app should be in its own section of the app where we can click on it and answer it and it only questions that are relevant to how many weeks we are. Right now it’s asking me questions that aren’t even relevant..Version: 4.4.7

I did love it but it stopped openingIt was definitely my favorite go to app for the majority of my pregnancy so far! HOWEVER, out of nowhere, it stopped opening and freezes on the loading screen I’ve done everything from restarting my phone to trying to uninstall the app and re-download it and it continues to have this issue. It’s really disappointing and frustrating considering I prefer this one over all the other apps and now them more than 2/3 to my pregnancy I was kind of feeling attached to it even. So at this point I’m unbelievably frustrated and annoyed that I can’t even use it anymore and there’s no answers on their website no way to get in touch with anyone or ask a question. My last attempt to delete it from my screen unfortunately lead to it just being hidden and I don’t even know how to put it back on my screen to try and uninstall it again so I feel like I have no way of getting this app back. If it didn’t have the issue I would be thrilled about it and give it five stars but now I can’t use it with no explanation and no help. They are playing other apps that are easy to troubleshoot and have resources if you need help doing it this one does not..Version: 5.0.0

Tough for those who have lost pregnanciesThis app does its job. However, I’ve had two miscarriages and given how common pregnancy loss is, I’d hope and expect an app like this to do less emotional manipulation, for lack of a better term (and that admittedly sounds too aggressive). When I check my fetus’s growth, for example, it says it’s the size of a raspberry, but “you can be sure that baby will get bigger!” After a pregnancy loss, you can’t be sure. Reading this just sends me into a dark place that could be avoided. Why not just say the facts and let us feel how we want with the information? I only use the app to track data because of it. Update - this app is free but it is clunky. I’ve now been exposed enough to the world of pregnancy that I’m no longer tolerating what amounts to judgmental and pushy agendas. I feel like this app is geared toward a specific straight white woman with fantastic resources and never ending bank account. I’m sick of being hounded with the same “have you taken your prenatal today?” questions. If I want to log info, I’ll log it. Moving on..Version: 5.4.0

Addictive, but buggy and lacking featuresAnswering the polls is really quite addictive, but the app is irritatingly buggy. It crashes frequently when attempting to delete polls from your inbox, particularly if they're the last poll in the list. Also, twice now, the "Community" tab has disappeared and been replaced with MyQ. I've never worked out why it happens or how to fix it. I end up deleting the app and reinstalling. Twice. I doubt I will a third time..Version: 3.0.3

Terrible AppApp does not work properly, cant add info that is being requested cause it wont allow to do a selection of options. Next It could not accept any password for my new accont. Too many problems too fast. App deleted..Version: 4.6.3

Way too much Personal InformationSeriously, None Ya Business! Uninstall. The ridiculousness of the personal information required (forced disclosure) to use this app. None Ya Business!.Version: 5.15.0

Very difficult to upload photosI like a lot of the features on this app, but I have a lot of trouble adding photos. It sits on the ‘saving’ screen for ages and I eventually have to exit out because it never says it’s complete. Sometimes the photos do show up when I check back, but other times they don’t and I have to re-upload. It’s very frustrating as photos are definitely something I want to track throughout pregnancy..Version: 4.4.9

Okay but misinformation and advertising agendas aboundWay way waaaaay too many ads in general but especially so for the same, narrow topics like cord blood banking. It’s something many parents don’t and won’t do, and the proliferation of ads for it just makes me want to do it even less. It smacks of cheesy marketing scam. The information really dumbs down things and makes me feel like I’m in the wrong, non-scientific app geared to airheads. I don’t know many women I consider airheads, so I really don’t know who this is for. Also topics like “are sit-ups safe?” are sorely misinformed. Sure, yes of course they’re safe for the baby up to a point at which sure there’s a minor risk of reducing blood flow while on one’s back. But they’re extraordinarily damaging for the pelvic floor and directly cause diastasis recti in many women and people in general. And then of course there are absolutely random posts like “what is bipolar disorder?” — not a topic that is very relevant for most first trimester women. Like why are we even talking about it? That’s said, interface is cute enough and modern enough. I like the “my baby is this size” comparisons by week, and the app is generally inclusive of various types of relationships, genders etc..Version: 4.5.7

Like the growth information, not the articlesReally enjoy the information about baby’s growth week by week, but find the articles etc. to be very patronizing, often overly simplistic and obsessed with their definition of “healthy” food/weight. Would obviously prefer this information from my Doc if necessary, and find the preoccupation very off putting in the app. I can see how it would be difficult/impossible for someone experiencing a food related disorder to use this app at all, as there is no way to filter the information you’d prefer not to see..Version: 4.7.01

Inundates vulnerable women with incorrect vaccine articlesOvia continues to post articles about vaccine safety and refuses to address issues like vaccine injury and deaths. They are obviously funded by pharmaceuticals as they push taking anti-depressants as the only way to treat postpartum during and after pregnancy. I asked them how to filter this content so I don't see it, they said that filtering content to fit my pregnancy wasn't an option. I have switched to another pregnancy app that allows you to choose what content fits your pregnancy and does not push pharmaceuticals on women..Version: 5.0.3

Features gone missingSince the update last night all the handy information about progress and tip. As well as the progress pictures (your baby is s big and it has a picture of a cute animal,) the your baby’s hand and foot are this big compared to the average size when born (your baby’s hand/foot is green and gets bigger each week- my fav feature) And the week count down /to go counter is missing. Those are literally why I’m here and it’s a bit rotten that at week 21 for me that they’ve disappeared. Used to be great, can’t recommend them anymore.Version: 4.6.6

DEPRESSINGIn one of the medical questions it asked about my mental health history. I was honest about having depression/anxiety in my pass and now EVERYDAY the articles on my feed are on that topic and often on repeat. I DON’T WANT TO FOCUS ON THAT! Why not tell me some cool things about this little life growing inside. Talk to me about development, healthy food, cool pregnancy Hacs..... anything else. I used Ovia on my last pregnancy and was thrilled each day to open it and and read the arrivals and daily updates. This time I fine it depressing and a daily reminder of my struggle. PLEASE FIX THIS!.Version: 4.2.1

App crashLoved this app but would sign me out from time to time. This last time it logged me out and lost all my information had to restart from the beginning :(.Version: 4.6.3

Flexibly usefulI’m nearly 18 weeks pregnant and have been using Ovia every day for months. When I first found out I was pregnant I installed five different pregnancy apps. Ovia quickly became my favorite because the health tracking is so flexible and intuitive. I’ve been tracking my sleep, weight, and symptoms, and ignore the parts I’m not interested in tracking (e.g. mood, nutrition, exercise). I also like that there’s a nice-length article each week and some daily content that isn’t too overwhelming. On the cons, sometimes the app takes a while to load, or to load the health tracking page. The daily questions of if I’m taking my prenatal vitamin got REALLY annoying really quickly, so now I just click “yes” on whatever question pops up when I first open the app to get past it quickly in the morning before I’ve forgotten my sleep hours. I think this has given the app some false data. My biggest qualm though is that I can’t seem to export my tracking data. I can’t believe this isn’t an option! The app only lets you graph a few variables over time (weight, sleep—though not your total sleep if you log multiple stints of sleep a night—activity, steps, blood pressure, and nutrition) and I am just itching to make my own graphs of some of my symptoms over time. The fact that it looks like I’m going to have to pull the data out manually is a HUGE bummer. I’m hoping this becomes part of the app in the near future..Version: 4.2.0

Like it, but needs improvements on articlesThis is one of my favorite pregnancy apps for tracking the baby’s progress. I like how you can also put in doctors appointments, track weight, BP, etc. The daily reminders for prenatal vitamins helps if you’re the sort of person who might forget. However there are rarely any articles to read other than the weekly updates. I go to Bump or even What to Expect (which I typically don’t like) apps to read through when I’m bored but want to do baby stuff— since they tend to have way more articles. I wish Ovia did too. My biggest complaint is how much this app emphasizes post partum depression. Don’t get me wrong— it’s a serious issue and it’s good that the app educates you about it. But honestly, more than half the updates towards the end of the pregnancy are about depression, or baby blues, or mental health issues... I’ve read all of the articles and tip prompts several times by this point, and I’m just sick of it. The app is honestly making me feel like I’m guaranteed to have PPD no matter what, so I should be stressed about it every time I open the app for the last two months. I really wish they toned it down a bit, gave you the option to turn it off, or at least had some other sorts of articles to read (but they don’t ☹️)..Version: 4.1.12

Joking references to suicideI flagged the support team that they published an article around sleep joking about suicide where they reference early pregnancy symptoms being so bad that it would be nicer to “jump off a cliff”. Despite Ovia support team saying this was a priority to resolve they have not edited the article. I am appalled that any health app would make such flippant jokes about such serious and devastating issues like suicide, especially normalizing it as easier than coping with pregnancy symptoms. We know better and so should Ovia..Version: 4.5.12

Great app but too much on PDDI have loved this app for both of my pregnancies. Really easy to use and really informative - even for people outside the US. My only criticism is that every other article/ advert is about Post Natal Depression. I totally understand that it is such an important thing for pregnant women to be aware of and look out for but there are so many articles and pictures of depressed looking mums in all parts of the app which made it less enjoyable to use. Please can you find a better way to present the information that doesn’t take over everything else in the app!.Version: 4.6.10
