Booksy for Customers for Negative User Reviews

☠️App keeps crashing.Version: 2.8.3

Losing businessSince reopening following lockdown I am now losing customers hand over fist because of the terrible service provided by Booksy. They are messing with my settings remotely meaning customers are having booked appointments deleted or unable to book because my settings have been changed. To add insult to injury, a duplicate booksy page has been created in my name which I can’t access to delete. Some customers have booked through this app and I haven’t been notified by email because it’s not my app and I can’t log on to get it deleted. The only way of contacting booksy is via online chat which takes ages (not good if your busy with customers) and after hours of trying to get the issues resolved online it’s still not fixed. Booksy, please sort this out or I will have to look elsewhere. You are costing me my business!!.Version: 2.1.15

Not user friendlyGreat app to show case services but when trying to book it is not user friendly. Stylists cannot put their availability into the app or synch it with their calendar so there is way too much to and fro with having to guess when the stylist is free. Also confusing about the appointments which are returned as being unavailable and the stylist offers another appointment. Very time consuming and frustrating for the client and no doubt stylist too! Also no where on the app to write complaint or concerns about booking process. Almost like they know there is a problem but not willing to do anything about it!.Version: 2.15.1

SCAMS YOU AND STEALS YOUR MONEY A WEEK BEFORE CHRISTMASFrom the first week I used Booksy I have had an absolutely horrific time with them, they have an option called ‘boost’ witch is meant to get you clients and you pay a 30% fee. As much as it’s ridiculously priced, I have never had one client from this, every client they claim to be getting me was in fact my own clients. I joined because I was promised 3 months discounted price of £20 a month instead of £40, the 3rd payment they took £40. I rang up and told them I wanted to cancel my subscription because they had been over charging me for my own clients and they told me my subscription will end on the 1st of December. 2 days later I found that they have took money out of my account again from ‘boost’. How can they do this when my subscription has ended? They refunded me so I told them to delete my bank details. So now fast forward a week before Christmas when I am so busy I haven’t got time to go to banks and I have bills and my daughters nursery fees coming out of my bank they take money again out of my account and tell me there is nothing they can do it will be in your account in 3-5 working days after I stated I needed it in my bank today it is not a refund it is theft, most disgusting, cold hearted company with lazy staff members who lie to your face and a management team who are impossible to get in touch with..Version: 2.1.59

More prompts and reminders for reviewsThere are other sites that are a bit more user friendly. However my biggest complaint is about the review system. There should be texts or email notifications letting customers know that the review deadline is approaching. Reviews should be prioritized in this type of setting and reminding clients to do so is a very small feature that could increase client and professional satisfaction. Sending a text 30 minutes after the appointment is insufficient to truly drive that feature especially since people are not typically in a space, could be transiting to next location or with people, to stop and write a review. Additionally if I’m verified in the system, I should be able to leave a review anytime with a caveat saying there was a delay. So unfortunate people have been taken advantage of by lack of reviews.Version: 2.4.1

App is brokenFinally was able to create an account after many attempts at not sending the confirmation code via txt. All of a sudden it signs out by itself and then there’s no option to sign in again, only to sign up all over again. Good concept, Horrible experience and UI design overall. It won’t be hard for another app with the same concept to take some of the market share. Just saying..Version: 2.14.1

Booksy unable to open when my actual appointment timing arrivedI was actually trying to open and show the appointment timing and that time only Booksy was not getting opened. Till the time I left from the shop was struggling to open the app. This is really annoying because ideally the app was working before the actual appointment time and all of a sudden stopped completely. I have closed and restarted the app as well but no luck. Another thing is I am always able to see “Cancelled” in the app with rates. Looking at it, it always seems like that the appointment was cancelled but in really it wasn’t. Can you please update the user interface to be more accurate..Version: 2.11.1

Nice for appointments but....I originally really liked the app because they had live chat. At least, That was until I tried to add the ability to charge cancellation fees. You have to manually go into each individual appointment and set up a cancellation fee and policy for each appointment booked. Clients don’t have to add a credit card so you can’t charge a cancellation fee unless they add their card after the fact. There is no across the board policy that is applied. The app is supposed to make it more convenient, but if I have to go into each appointment to change/apply the settings, what’s the point? They also charge 3% + 0.20 for each payment processed versus 2.5% with other apps, and payout takes 3 days to reach your account versus next day with other apps. If they could get the payment issues in order and add a description box for services, then it’d be a much better app..Version: 2.0.5

Poorly designedBuggy and doesn’t work. What’s the point in searching for todays date and time. Scrolling through the services available. Only to find at the end nothing is actually available and the app is simply lying… just wasted my time. If nothing is available the search result should reflect that. If I’m looking for something in the weekend I don’t want it two weeks away and it’s bizarre an app is designed to think like that Overall pretty useless might as well just search on Google maps and phone people. Easier and quite frankly quicker.Version: 2.8.2

Ok but....This app is useful but needs improvements. Types of business should be in alphabetical order rather than random order. Face/Touch Id should be an option. Better categorisation of businesses; though this might be down to the businesses themselves deciding which category to be classed under as with present list of categories it is possible for certain businesses to be included in more than one category; all well and good if they appear in all relevant categories but may not be easy to find otherwise..Version: 2.1.38

Not a great experienceHad my daughters first ear piercings done here. The holes were placed too far foreword, even though I questioned this beforehand, but the man who did the piercings said that this was where they normally place the first holes. What’s worse, we later realised that the holes were unevenly placed but it was too late to do anything about it. Don’t feel like much time and care was given to us and no information was communicated to my daughter as far as the procedure he was about to carry out or what to expect, and then I had to ask about the aftercare..Version: 2.1.63

This app lied to me and forgot somethingI live in a state that has started the process of closing back up for Coronavirus. I have been trying to get a haircut in before it’s too late and all the barbershops in my area are appointment only. The one I usually go too was booking through this app I had attempted to book a haircut for yesterday. However, this app neglected to be updated to the fact that the barber I had booked from said shop was out of town and could potentially come back with Covid. This app lets you book appointments without having any idea if not only will you get your appointment but also if the place you’re booking your appointment at is taking proper Coronavirus measures other then following appointment only. I had to reschedule with someone else and now I have to worry about their Coronavirus precautions. Find some other way to book or find a different place rather then use this app..Version: 2.1.18

Sign in confirmation code issueI have been having an issue with the app not sending me a sign in confirmation text. This has been going on for months and is extremely frustrating.Version: 2.19.0

DO NOT RECOMMEND, NOT SECURE[UPDATE] I reached back out to Booksy costumer service and all they did was gaslight me. They refuse to remove the stylist that scammed me, leaving them free to scam others. And I asked about a refund and they said to take it up with my bank. Obviously their boiler plate responses are damage control for their terrible app but I thought they might at least try to “make it right” as they claimed. Turns out they’re liars. [Original post] There is zero accountability for scammers which is unacceptable. I prepaid for an appointment and the stylist never showed. I called Booksy to get my money back and they said there’s nothing I can do other than ask for my money back from the scammer (🙄)or dispute the charge. It’s weeks later and the bank is still investigating. Booksy is completely unaccountable to its customers, has business practices that support and encourage scammers and as a result I’ll be sure to never use it again..Version: 2.4.1

TerribleI booked a service with Twins Hair Salon the glam bar. Althea Williams very unprofessional as a business owner, she didn’t acknowledge me nor came to the door to at least speak with me. When another person came to talk to me she yelled not to give me information. I drove 2 hours away and if you have certain policies in place send a reminder, but, it is not ok for someone yo give her a deposit to not even acknowledge their presence. I paid $84 for a down payment to get hair services and she didn’t let me in to evaluate my hair she didn’t acknowledge my presence and treated me very rudely. She has horrible reviews on Yelp. I looked up to see if she’s even licensed because the place had no signs looked like they are running and illegal shop. I will never use Booksy because it’s not user friendly and doesn’t seem to lookup the businesses they’re working with. This is not going to stay like this i will get my money back i work to hard to just give my money away.Version: 2.13.3

It could’ve been better🙁I went to this Salon for the first time yesterday with a friend. Got there at 330pm. They only had 2 nail techs(the owners of the salon). I can honestly say the best part of the visit was the pedicure! The girls who did our pedicures were fantastic! I sat with Tiffany and she glued fake nails on me without even asking, I thought this was the process of gel powder since I’ve never done it in the past. Then she wasn’t able to do the 3 tones on my nails. She had to attempt 2xs, failing both attempts. The other nail tech Tommy ended up fixing my nails but it looked nothing like the pic of the nails I wanted. I was extremely unhappy with the outcome of my nails especially paying $45 for them. They don’t do an actual manicure, no cuticle cutting...NOTHING! We were there from 330pm-645pm at that due to them being short staffed. I wouldn’t come here again or recommend the place to anyone..Version: 2.0.2

UnfortunateWhen it asks for my number to send a confirmation code I never receive it. Tried my husbands number to see if maybe it’s my phone but it never worked with his number either. Also tried changing my email address and it says a confirmation email will be sent but of course nothing gets sent..Version: 2.9.1

I’m deleting this appI like the ease of finding a stylist to do a service but I won’t comeback to using his anymore. My first stylist made it somewhat hard to get the service done because she had to stop every ten minutes to attend to her kids. This wasn’t the worst yet. I find a new stylist and this time the stylist never showed up to any of the appointments set but had the nerve to schedule me as a no show for an appointment they had set. What doesn’t make sense is that I get labeled as a no show which stops me from writing a review for a service I never received. The crazy part is that the stylist had an address online but they are mobile so I paid a deposit and was prepared to pay the rest for the service to come to me. I’m deleting my account today this is just a mess..Version: 2.7.4

Easy for people to get scammedThere needs to be a better system or a better way to communicate with the shop owners when booking an appointment you receive a confirmation email however I’ve already pay for my deposit but the person who them self is unaware of my appointment. I had no way to communicate with the person I called the number multiple times I text multiple times I even search for the Instagram to get to communication with this person and when I called Booksy’s customer service all they did was give me the same phone number and didn’t offer any help on how to communicate with the person more. I was adviced to contact my bank to get the money back. Maybe they shouldn’t require a deposit or mandatory deposit maybe they should only have you put a card on file and allow a full refund..Version: 2.1.59

Notifications are uselessI’ve used Booksy to book quite a few appointments. It’s not great but it worked. But there’s sometimes a notification dot on the icon. When you open the app nothing pops up and nothing has the notification dot on it so you don’t know what the notification dot is for. There was one on it yesterday but I couldn’t see why. There was one again today. Also couldn’t see why. Got to the barbers to discover they cancelled my appointment. When I drilled in and found the appointment, I could see it was cancelled. How is this not the first thing I see when I open the app? There’s nothing more important than not wasting my time..Version: 2.0.75

Invasive app, no websiteAsks for way too many permissions to manage a simple appointment.Version: 2.17.2

Be careful paying deposits on this app. They will not help you i if you need a refundI recently booked an appointment on Booksy to get my hair done. The booking required a £178 deposit which I paid. However the business hasn’t responded to any of my enquiries since making the booking. As a result of poor customer service I’ve cancelled my appointment and I have been trying to get my deposit back. The business hasn’t replied to any of my emails or texts. I also emailed Booksy about this and no response from them either. Shockingly bad service, I will be going through my credit company to get my money back and failing that I’m going to small claims court..Version: 2.15.1

NailsReceptionist was quite rude upon arrival to the parkway hotel, however Molly who did my nails was professional and very welcoming which more than made up for the unpleasant manner of the receptionist, however only other negative is the booking system isn’t actually that clear whilst booking I thought it was hands and feet as illustrated in my booking confirmation but this wasn’t the case also I wanted a flower on 2 nails which I was told I couldn’t because I should have booked extra time which again didn’t have the option during booking, my appointment was 90 minutes which I only had 80 as I sat waiting whilst staff were talking which may well have been business related which wasn’t an issue but clearly there was time to have 2 flowers painted, not the best for first experience unsure if I would return or recommend to be honest..Version: 2.14.2

Autumn cutz llcSo I booked an appointment for me and my daughter with autumn cutz llc two strand twist starters and a two strand re-twist at six this morning to 11 AM I was charged 8750 as a deposit to book this appointment which was no problem. There was no problem until the morning of the appointment which is today I get up to check the address to find out where I’m supposed to be low behold, there is no address, so I use the Google navigation to get there it’s a light industrial park. I called the phone number associated with the account. No one answers so I leave a message at this point I just feel like this page is on Boosie is giving you a bad rap because these people are still in money from folks that work hard for their money and I don’t think that’s right, so anyone thinking about using Booksy to find you a stylist. Please do your due diligence check everything so this does not happen to you. All I want is my money back and the page took down because I don’t think it’s right for her to be scamming people..Version: 2.21.3

App crashed before my appointment! This is not the first time this has happened either so I am extremely upset. I booked a haircut appointment with my barber expecting for the app to be functioning before my appointment. Literally an hour before my appointment I go to the Booksy app to make sure my appointment hasn’t changed or to double check the address and the app is not working. The app says cannot connect to the server please try again in a few minutes, which is actually hours. And the fact that it only did it right before my appointment started twice makes me even more mad. If I hadn’t texted the barbers phone number outside of the app days before, I wouldn’t even have the address to the place to know where I’m going because your app is unreliable. There was even a update available so I updated the app and still couldn’t get on the app..Version: 2.1.5

Beware: designed to trick usersReally dislike that my local hairdresser is now using this app exclusively for appointments. The app itself works fine. I could like with that. What I detest, though, is the fact that every time I launch the app it pushes for access to my contacts. It doesn’t need this. I don’t want it to have this. Worse, the presentation of this “choice” is sharp practice designed to trick users into giving access: a big white OK button with the better option (“Not now”) in far less prominent grey text on the main dark background - no button. This is deliberately poor design and can only have been included to maximise access to personal data. The app should present a choice where both options are apparent to even careless users, given the importance of what is being asked. And critically it should only ask this once. Sure, present it again if a user tries to do something that needs this access. But do not have this trap as a precursor to launching the app each time. It makes me hate you and generally fear that you do not respect my rights (when without it I would probably trust and recommend the app). Please be responsible developers and fix this..Version: 2.1.23

Works well, but with a couple of quirksThe app itself is nice presented and easy to navigate, and allows me to easily book with my favourite barbers without any fuss. The only thing that’s spoils the experience for me is firstly the constant push to get me to allow location access - I don’t need to be reminded of this every time I launch the app. If I ever feel the need to use location services in the app I’ll allow it. Secondly, the app also asks every single time I launch it what services I’m interested in seeing: I shouldn’t have to choose this option every time. The fact both these things happen the moment you launch the app isn’t great..Version: 2.0.66

Doesn’t workMy appointments never appear and I can never cancel them when I need. When you try to review a place, you must make a new booking. Why can’t I review a place I just been to?.Version: 2.1.75

Good but a few tweaks would make it betterI use Booksy to book haircuts and like it very much. My only issue is that the calendar used for picking a date. The available days are only *slightly* darker than the unavailable days, which makes it very difficult to spot them. It would be much better to show just a list of available days (or if not, make the available days stand out much more in the calendar view). I imagine that this would also help partially-sighted users who I think may struggle to use the app as it stands..Version: 2.16.3

Great idea etc but never works and constantly asking me to log in every time I open the app!Does not make booking appts easy.Version: 2.0.5

Good idea, slow appI like the idea of booking my appointments through an app, it’s just a shame it’s so slow! Also, it never seems to keep me logged in. A pain!.Version: 2.0.5

Stuck in another countryUse a barbers in UK that operates through Booksy. All good. Went to Australia on a six-month working holiday and used a barber shop there that also operated through Booksy (Good on them, usually a top service) Returned home and couldn’t for love or money book in with my usual English barber on the app. I texted him and he said the shop still used Booksy, were having no issues, and he used the app his end as a business owner to book me in. This appointment showed up on my app. I requested to delete my account while having the issue and waiting for that English appointment, as changing my Booksy-account phone number from the Australian one to British wasn’t working either (Said +44 or 07etc wasn’t a valid phone number). Going into the app a month after being home and that first appointment, I still couldn’t change my phone number (My account had been deleted but my phone number was still on the app, which would usually be helpful but wasn’t in this case), and my app was still showing services in Australia. On the ‘explore section’ when I put English postcodes, it showed no English results at all. I don’t want to keep annoying my barber by asking him to book me in when the app is designed for that purpose. However, the app still seems to think I’m in Aus despite updating all my phone settings, deleting and reinstalling my account, and even setting up a new one (It doesn’t let me put in UK phone numbers). Frustrating..Version: 2.11.3

Horrible appIt used this app to do my first booking and there after it stopped working. I can’t use this app to book appointments anymore. Really useless.Version: 2.0.19

Useful but glitchyI’ve used this app to book local services and it is great for that purpose. However the app simply doesn’t allow me to consistently use my account. It is always logging me out, and disallows me to write reviews. I have tried connecting my phone # to the app (which seems to be the most utilized form of ID on the platform), but it fails to ever send me a confirmation code. In order to log in, every single time I want to book I have to delete and redownload the app; somehow this logs me in upon reopening the app, but it seems to be a weird state where I cannot use all of its features. Fix these issues and the app will be 4-stars imo..Version: 2.9.1

Doesn’t workI uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but it doesn’t even show any facilities in the area.Version: 2.1.23

Confirmation codesWhy do all apps/companies need to make confirmation via available only through SMS? It’s literally the laziest and dumbest thing. Maybe have an option for email also?.Version: 2.9.1

Won’t connect with calendar?!No longer lets you add appointments to the calendar app..Version: 2.19.0

Wants FULL ACCESS to calendar not just write to add eventThere is no need for this app to have full access to our private calendars, it only needs to add events not read the details of all other events. This is a red flag and cause for concern. ( 2) Can’t turn off marketing notifications - Notifications can only be on or off, so you can’t stop the annoying pop up’s saying to invite a friend or business. So turning this off you’ll get no email/app message for your appointment… Can’t stop marketing text notifications at all. (3) “Feedback and support” button in app - there is no option for support when you click it. Sounds like a scam when they provide a number and 99% of the time no one will bother ringing it. Why say support if there’s support. This app can’t be trusted esp. for private calendar full read access..Version: 2.16.3

NotificationsI like everything about this app except the notifications. Seriously why don’t you have a notification centre within the app? Every time I got a notification, I opened the app and there’s nowhere I can check the full detail of what was sent to me. There’s also nowhere I can keep track of the app notifications either. I don’t think it’s that hard to have a notification centre built within the app, is it?! A lot of other apps have it..Version: 2.1.5

Customer service is horrible.I made an appointment a month out for my birthday. I cancelled appointment a few days after and never received a refund. Contacted booksy with no response and no way other way of contact. The rules are you must cancel within 24hrs to receive a refund but I cancelled like 3 weeks in advance. Still. I refund from the prepaid payment and no response from customer service. I do like the app as far as finding local businesses but customer service is non existent and if you miss an appointment don’t bank on getting your funds back unless you charge back it seems. Update to review. Reached out to customer service again and they said to file a charge back as they can not help with refunds and it is totally up to the business. I don’t get why they would accept prepayments through the app but not help when you have an issue but that’s another issue. I’d say just find another app to use or make sure when making appointment that prepayment is not required as this apps customer service literally told me to file a charge back with my card smh. So now to get my money back I have to drive 30 minutes to fight with a barbershop or contact bank and make a charge back. Insane..Version: 2.1.90

At First, But…When I first downloaded the app is was really cool. No problems at all and would have given it a 5 probably then, but now not so much. I mentioned some of the things to my barber and he said he may have to reconsider. I haven’t mentioned the latest issues. Now when I go to sign in, it forces me to create an account which I already have. It does not allow me to just log in with my email. It forces you to create another account in order to proceed. The second thing I noticed is it changes from English to French. The top potion is in French meanwhile the bottom menu is in English. I have a screenshot so it is true. The app looks very nice though. As far as the look it’s better than other apps I have seen. If they could just get these bugs out it would be so much better. Right now I can’t even log on a view my schedule present and future appointments or update or change anything. I cannot access anything. Glad I have notifications setup to have some idea of my appointment. I have to commute during the week so it’s helpful to go back in the app to see what you have going on. Plus I like structure and organization so when you have an app to manage appointments and schedules it is very helpful IF IT WORKS. I saw where they said they have a recent update but I am still having these two issues. I hope it’s a quick fix. If they resolve I will really consider updating my review only if it works consistently..Version: 2.1.94

App does not sync with websiteI use. Booksy to make appointments with my barber. I usually use the website to do this and previously this would sync to the app. Now the app is only showing a couple of old bookings and not my most recent one. I checked my profile and the email address is incorrect on the app. If I try to change it I am told that my email address already exists. I have tried deleting the app several times and reinstalling but it logs in to the same account and only shows a couple of old bookings. What can I do to fix this?.Version: 2.2.0

HorrendousAbsolutely horrendous service. You can’t contact them through phone, can’t contact them through live chat. Impossible to get a hold of. I accidentally booked an appointment two weeks from the day I thought it was. So I went to change the appointment to find that the current one booked was the earliest available. I’m not waiting over two weeks to get my hair cut so I clicked cancel. It says “you will be charged a fee for cancellation” willing to move forward and see what kind of “fee” they charge. I clicked yes. Only to discover there was no further steps, that’s it, the booking is cancelled and the “fee” is the entire price of the haircut initially booked. The term “fee” is extremely misleading bordering on straight up false. It could just as easily say “you will still be charged for the appointment” or something to that effect. First interaction with the app, and will definitely be the last. Furthermore, the “support” section only allows you to rate their app. Thanks for the support, booksy..Version: 2.1.15

Service/Help with App issues is NonexistentI’ve made contact to get help with them via the app and via email, yet, I get the same robotic response asking for more details. Not sure how much more detail is needed when I’ve given exact details of the issue. Srsly! This app has potential, but the lack of consideration when help is needed makes the app not worth my time. I have other apps that work perfectly so I’ll stick w/them or I’ll call to make/cancel any appointments. Something as simple as getting my phone to receive a text confirmation shouldn’t be so difficult. Especially, when I always got texts from Booksy then all of a sudden it stopped. Yet, CS keeps telling me that it must be because my number is connected w/another account. Srsly? How so? Anyway, thanks for reading my rant! Hope your experience is a better one 😁.Version: 2.1.75

You need patiencePretty easy to book even without the app but when you are notified of a time change you cannot accept or decline without the app, so, having been told 10 mins before the appt that it had been changed to 15 mins later, we had to respond via the app or it would be cancelled. We got the app and managed within that 10 mins to accept and got a text and email to confirm the new appt given. However, on arrival, the barber had no notification of the new appt but all ended well, thankfully..Version: 2.3.0

Annoying TxtKeep getting annoying text messages that you can’t stop or unsubscribe with..Version: 2.1.48

Bad ideaWhoever thought it was a good idea to require customers to download an app to reschedule calls should be fired..Version: 2.5.4

Terrible user experienceMy barber uses Booksy, but the interface never seems to work as expected. For example, on occasion, my barber will schedule my appt in Booksy and send me a url for the appointment. Clicking on the link will open a browser window which will prompt to take me to the App Store. Arriving at the App Store, I will find a link to open Booksy. Clicking this link will open Booksy, but it will not provide me a view of the appointment. Navigating through the entire app, I can find no appointment record or any kind of confirmation of the pending appointment. For anyone familiar with the old tv series, Get Smart, Booksy appears to work for me about as well as the ‘cone of silence’. I don’t wish to belittle Booksy or it’s developers, but I would like to suggest that the process flow is not without issue. I hope they can enhance the navigation. Thanks..Version: 2.17.2

No ability to amend bookings once made/ cannot contact providerHave used for 2 recent bookings to fit around work, first one the provider was running >15 min late, mutually agreed to cancel as I would have missed meeting, but still marked as no-show on my account. Second time, I was running 10 min late, no ability to contact provider to see if this was ok, only option to cancel. This should be amended as makes it difficult for customers and providers.Version: 2.1.79

Booksy are terrible when things go wrongRequired me to put a £17 deposit on a mobile barber that never confirmed and also never showed up, despite me giving my address and the deposit. I called him 10 mins before the appointment out of curiosity and he asked me to go to a venue near Whitechapel if I want it cut. I said he's a mobile barber. It's in the name of the business "Lavish Mobile Barbers" and it is also filed under the category of mobile barbers in Booksy. I then asked for my deposit back but he said I need to call Booksy for it. Considering Booksy are on my bank statement, I would have thought they would be able to stop scams like this on their platform. But when I contacted Booksy, They told me that there's nothing they could do, and the money was passed straight to the barber who is not a "barber" but just a con artist. So be warned that Booksy can’t actually help you, if something goes wrong..Version: 2.1.41

Waste of moneyDuring my visit at my appointment time she was already busy with some other client in her area and finished my perfect derma peel in rush in just 5 mins( bz her other client was under process)by arranging other bed in her lobby area without even cleansing my face.i spend 300$ for that 5 mins and i did not peel at all waste of money.. i would rather went to professional clinic...Version: 2.7.4

At Onyxx Barbar shop Worst experience todayI had an appointment by 11:30am today as open appointment without selecting a barber and attended on time but I was chased out and let me down for long and taken others in keeping me outside. Really disrespectful and dishonest so I left the place by 11:45am as I was lucky to have an appointment in another barbar shop near by and they canceled the appointment and not allowed me to review thier worst service and no mechanism from you to inquire about the reason of cancel as they made the cancel. Once I left only they opened thier eyes to find me. Totally disappointed with Onyxx barbar experience today. As you dont give a chance to review it I made review here. How far this app then make customer friendly if it doesnt show the customer negative feedback on such worst places. Because of that I met another best barbar and had a great service in ext half and hour. Please correct this error..Version: 2.1.61

The Abuse Your Personal DetailsI used a barber in York over a year ago that was subsequently closed by the local authority for flagrant COVID breaches. The company was even closed officially on Companies House. The owner has set up a new barbers 30 miles away (registering it as new on Companies House) and Booksy has not only allowed the owner to transfer all the reviews over to the new business but has also allowed this completely separate entity I have never used or had dealings with to continually contact me with offers. I have asked Booksy 3 time to delete my personal info which they haven’t and am now in the process of a formal complaint with the ICO over data breaches. Please avoid and don’t trust any of the reviews given to businesses..Version: 2.1.61

Auto books appointments without being asked - please fixI’ve used Booksy for literally one place, a barber shop nearby. I don’t go often because I just don’t need to or want to, but for whatever reason after some time (perhaps what most people would deem a regular amount of time for a haircut, about 2 months) I get a notification that my appointment has been booked for that barbershop. I cancel, and it’s been several times in the last 12 months where it continues to book an appointment over the next few days (after initial phantom booking). As far as I can tell, there’s no way to prevent the app from doing so, without my deleting account. I might, but otherwise someone should fix this. Good thing I don’t have my payment info on this app - I fear that phantom booking might lead to unnecessary charges..Version: 2.5.4

Non stop annoying text messagesYou have to input your mobile number on signup, and businesses can send you annoying “message blasts” as ads whenever they want. There is no opt out feature on the app and cancelling/deactivating your account will not suspend this service..Version: 2.1.84

Beware of scammer businesses through Booksy!I called this business “Styled by Moffett” on Booksy to ensure she had availability before booking an appointment for my daughter and I. She answers and confirms that she has availability for the next day. So I go ahead and book and prepay $160 for the service. She then tells me the hair to buy and everything. She then says she will confirm the appointment for 8 am the next day. Sunday morning comes and I’m heading to the appointment. I happen to look at the app and the girl NEVER CONFIRMED THE APPOINTMENT even though she told me to go ahead and book! She then proceeds to say she “overbooked” herself . I then tel her I was still charged but she claim she didn’t see it on Booksy end, so she cancels it. It is now Friday, and I have no word from her or Booksy. Not only did I lose $160, but Booksy has yet to reach back out and contact me or the young lady since the issue began. This screams SCAM and showcases a serious lack of professionalism on both ends. It’s sad to say that Booksy is promoting businesses as such. This is a total scam, and I will be spreading the news thus far!.Version: 2.15.1

Chop It up Barbershop SchertzI will start with I made my appt through Booksy for 9am.. I read majority of the reviews great reviews.. this was my first time going to this barbershop.. my appt was confirmed for 9am with Bam.. worst experience ever.. I arrived at my appt 10 mins early.. the owner of the shop came and opened the shop about 9:10 am… he greats me and he ask who do I have an appt with, I say Bam he is like ok and went to the back.. another barber comes in go straight to the back, literally a 3rd barber comes in his name is Milli, he ask who I am waiting for, I say Bam, he call Bam.. Bam tells him he isn’t going to make the appt. Bam never tried calling me or apologize for skipping the appt even though it was confirmed. Milli tells me he would take .. I have to thank him for stepping up but .. my haircut was so bad everyone was like “I thought you got a haircut “. The reason was because he was a newbie whom literally just received his certificate while I was sitting in his chair. He had another barber help him to put a design in my hair… freaking horrible… I won’t ever return.. those who giving 4&5 stars… lucky you. Tanya.Version: 2.12.0

Awful customer supportI’ve removed my email from their mailing list three times over and yet I continue to receiving marking emails from a barber I no longer frequent from this app. Part of the reason I changed my barber is because they canceled my appointment with less than twelve hours notice but still pushed through the charge on my card. I had no feedback options with the app to resolve this but to go to the barber in person and ask why they were charging me for a service they canceled on. I don’t want to do business with this barber but it seems like this app doesn’t care as they continue to spam me. Because of this I requested my account to be deleted. It’s been two weeks and they’re still processing my request. Clearly this app was made not for the safety or satisfaction of the consumer. If your barbershop asks you to download this maybe just keep it cash ✌️.Version: 2.8.2

Needs improvementsI’ve not had issues using the platform as a customer - my favourite nail shop uses Booksy and overall it’s good however my biggest bug with it has been ongoing for YEARS and I am desperate for them to resolve the ability to see available dates CLEARLY. Available dates show as ever so slightly bold, but it’s not clear enough to be able to see them at a glance. Additional formatting, another colour, or a shape around available dates would be a simple but huge update - as I have had many missed chances of bookings, and their “be the first to know” text sign up isn’t always reliable.Version: 2.14.0

Hair Stylist/ How the app can improveTheir are a lot of stylist on this app that take advantage of clients. I started using this app in 2020. I have had no, good experiences so, far. I think stylist don’t want to be detailed about not taking credit cards/ Debit cards because they don’t want new customers not want to book with them and know that their income they bring in can effect wether or not them/ their family qualify for certain pandemic assistance. With that being said Booksy needs to closely monitor the kind of professionals that they allow acess their app. The beauty world is always about reputation. Styles come and go and can always be learned but, if you don’t know how to make a client happy or take advantage of a client by overcharging them or taking extra money then you will NOT last in the beauty world..Version: 2.1.38

How hard is it for them to cancel your bookingPity they couldn’t be bothered canceling my booking when they couldn’t cut my hair, although they knew a week before that the barber wouldn’t be able to. I even got a reminder the day before, then when I arrived, early as usual they told me they couldn’t cut my hair. Very poor service..Version: 2.11.2

I went to the appointment but listed as no show because the Stylist was terrible.Who is next Salon, Kimberly Porter has listed me as a no show so I could not leave a review. Please change that process. The stylist should not be able to block one for leaving a review. you should be able to leave a review. I went to the appointment. I received really terrible service. I asked for a redo but she was so hostile I feared for she will to since she is alone I the Solon. I cancelled a new one booked. She was unprofessional made me wait for two hours before service. I arrived 10 minutes before the 12 pm appointment. She did not start working on my hair until almost 2:00 pm. I had to comb out my own hair. The wig install was terrible, was lifting before I even left the shop. she gave all kinds of excuses. She cut my wig when I only asked that the front be layered. It was not a trim or layering of the back of wig she cut it. Used terrible glue so hair twisted in the back She keep doing treatments for drop in Clients while I waited for 2 hours for service. She worked on my hair for an hour after a two hour wait then refused to fix unless I paid extra. She is a bad stylist..Version: 2.12.3

Disappointed in the no contactI booked an appointment with one of the stylists on the app. Booksy too my money, and when the hairstylist cancelled with out any notification and didn’t show up Booksy tried to charge my card a cancellation fee. That’s not right because I didn’t cancel the appointment. I held my end of the commitment. Boosky should have a way where they hold the money and if both parties don’t uphold the commitment either cancel the transaction or charge the cancellation. I had no one to contact to report the person that did this. They only allow you to rate if the person did the service, and it shouldn’t be that way. I should be able to leave a review rather the service was rendered or not. There is no telling how many people that she has done this to, and she still end up with a cancellation fee. I wish I could give this app no stars..Version: 2.1.38

Horrible app, but I have no choice!!I initially had high hopes for this app. Have had it for months now and maybe 1/5 times I’ll have a smooth experience: 1. Wouldn’t let me book things in my home city when I was abroad; only showed me options for japan and Canada...I live in Australia. 2. Routinely logs me out of the app and then when I try and login again it just hangs on the login page 3. Multiple crashes recently which my barber said was an issue 4. See #2 again, because this happens all the time and I eventually need to call and book, which defeats the point of this app It’s gotten to the point where I have not gone to my usual barber because it was so annoying trying to schedule through this app and they are so busy I need to book well in advance Sadly I have no alternative so I can only hope the developers see this and change whatever the hell they’re doing with this thing.Version: 2.0.13

Normally this is great, but even though we booked they wouldn’t let us inWe booked as usual and got there a few minutes to spare, however the guy couldn’t find find us on the system so we waited around and was told our appts were 11:30 and 11:45 not 11 and 11 :15 so we sat down to wait.. to then be told at 11:25 that we weren’t booked in at all. Eventually they found us on the system and said we were late and our appts were what I originally said 11 and 11:15 but we were too late now so could only fit one appt in! Even though we weren’t late they just couldn’t find us on the system even though I had confirmation on my emails. So we spent the rest of our day with 3 young children looking for somewhere else to go which is so annoying when I booked in because this is the reason I book in because it’s difficult with 3 kids!.Version: 2.6.1

Nail Box AjaxI had a mani- Pedi Regular manicure. Did a good job at shaping nails and toes, BUT cut my finger which bleed and 3 days later still a big red sore. Plus the nail polish sucked. I had to re do it myself. They did give me 5 dollars off but I am going away on vacation and wanted nice nails. As you know we donot do a professional job at home. As to say I will not be going back there..Version: 2.12.2

No appointmentsUsed to work great. Now none of my appointments show up in the app. Hmm. Why?.Version: 2.20.0

Harassing Sales CallsSales team are incredibly aggressive to the point of harassment, I’ve been contacted by three separate sales people in the last few months. First one was a lovely guy, we chatted and I said I wasn’t interested and to remove me from the marketing list, no problem. After this I get the same message sent to me over and over again for weeks and had to block that sales person. Had two calls today from the same person who just wouldn’t take no for an answer, I try to be polite but he forced me to a point where I had to be very firm and when that got through he started trying to get me to go on a call with one of his colleagues and start a free trial. This made me feel very uncomfortable and really quite irritated. If I was ever on the fence about using Booksy I’m definitely not going to use it after the last phone call..Version: 2.1.73

Negative reviews deletedGreat concept but negative reviews are deleted. Whilst the review I gave was negative, I felt it was a fair reflection of the quality of service received. I would not have booked the service and I’m wondering if others had similar experiences but also had their reviews removed I’ve only had to leave one out of several wonderful providers. I feel this makes it harder to have a balanced view of services as it’s obviously easy to get your friends to leave glowing reviews. No customer support from Booksy. Fresha is a better app.Version: 2.12.3

Can’t Reach Customer ServiceI scheduled an appointment for barber shop business that Id been to before when I saw it here and received a text from the barber saying sorry for the inconvenience they’d changed locations but the new location was a house! This is not true btw the barber shop I was trying to book is still in the same place the barber on the Booksy account just doesn’t work there. And I was not able to cancel after booking the same day appointment without them charging me the full price. So I was charged $45 for not wanting to go to some Guys house for my son’s haircut. The barber blocked me after I told him I didn’t feel comfortable coming there and wanted a refund and I’ve been trying to reach out to Booksy ever since with no luck. I filled out the contact form and I call on a daily bases and am prompted to use in app chat which is not in the app..Version: 2.1.59

Reinventing the wheel. This app like thousands of other booking app is simply another booking app. Before downloading and installing, ask yourself, “do you really need another booking app?”.Version: 2.12.3

No love for consumersI’ve been using Booksy for a couple years now but recently I’ve been dissatisfied with the platform. I used the platform to find hair salons for my daughters. But here recently, I’ve had an issue with the hair salon, called Lovin iT Hair supposedly located in Lancaster, California. You can’t book your appointment until you pre-pay so that’s what I did. When it came time for the appointment, I clicked on the GPS on the Booksy app to locate the salon which sent me to City Hall. When I tried to call the business owner, her phone line was only taking voice messages. I left several with no reply. I also tried to contact the business owner through all her social media platforms but still no reply. And upon further investigation, I noticed that there was no physical address on the Google Maps GPS there were only coordinates that sent me to City Hall. Booksy was no help in solving the issue I was having with this business owner. I needed my refund and all they could tell me was to contact the business owner, which wasn’t an option for me. Booksy should do a better job at validating these business owners that us consumers use for services. I’m so annoyed with this whole process..Version: 2.21.3

Awful app and user experienceI hate that my local barbers uses this service. All I want to do is book an appointment once every few months but your awful UX forces me to have to open the App Store, download the app, sign in etc etc. Even more frustrating when I try to amend or cancel my appointment following an email link, just let me do this via my browser on your website. But yeah congratulations dev and product team, you’ve managed to do the exact opposite of what good tech should do and somehow added a bunch of extra steps into what should be a super simple process (I.e., you want cancel your appointment, click amend in the booking email, go to webpage in one click and then amend BUT no it’s get bounced around a bunch of webpage redirects, open App Store, Touch ID, wait for download, open app, answer a bunch of pref questions, sign in etc), useless. I’m sure this app is great if you go to lots of salons, beauty appointments regularly etc but I just want to get my hair cut every couple of months, don’t force app as the only channel. Build a compelling app and users will go to it anyway, all your doing is inflating your download figures..Version: 2.0.44

Misleading! This app misleadingly claims to support Apple Pay; however, it is not possible to complete a payment using Apple Pay (I tried four different cards, across diverse card brands, including an Apple Card). Instead, the app falsely claims the card was declined—I checked with the insurers, and no card authorization requests were sent. However, the very same cards work fine when entered directly into the app. Bottom line: Apple Pay is a benefit to consumers (and merchants) in terms of security. The implementation inside of apps is not rocket science. Naturally, this app does not need to support it (though I would prefer they did), but if they are going to expose the interface and be tagged in the App Store as supporting Apple Pay, it should work. Not just work in some narrow case, but for all card payments. Perhaps this is an innocent bug, but it feels like a bait-and-switch. (Response to Developer Reply: Sorry—not interested in doing your QC for you. You already lost the customer. Apple Pay is a top priority feature. It should work every time, with every card supported by your platform.).Version: 2.7.4

Average and could do betterWhy create a booking app when it’s impossible to change or modify a current booking without losing it? I booked two appointments (one after the other) and had to cancel the first one. The app gives you the ability to modify your bookings (cancel the first appointment) but it doesn’t have the smarts to recognize that the appointment that you’ve cancelled is now available so I could bring the second appointment forward. Basic stuff..Version: 2.17.2

Poor Business Practices: Passion’s BarbershopEarly this morning I made an appointment for my wife to get a hair cut. The appointment was accepted. Then at 1:03pm the appointment gets canceled. My wife aligned her day for this appointment. I will say that they tried to give us an option of going to another barber that they knew. I understand that they tried to reschedule for another day. I understand that they will get more money from braiding someone’s hair. It does not excuse them canceling the appointment, especially with so little time to find someone else. My wife needed to get her hair done today. We have an event we are attending tomorrow. Now I am trying to find another barber but it appears that no one is available. We don’t have the time to do any walk-ins. The only reason why I am putting this below is because I couldn’t put it with why I cancelled my appointment. Below is the message we received from Passion’s. Hello Mrs L***** ******. I believe your husband booked a trim for your frohawk. I have a walk in client that requested braids. The service she requested will leave me booked up for the rest of the day. Please walk into Markstyles Barbership in Menlo Park they will be able to help you Or we can reschedule for Monday. Thank you for your inquiry..Version: 2.1.78

Calendar error?Looks like there’s an integration issue with Calendar. Full permissions are on, but the app still gives an error that I need to grant permission. Super annoying..Version: 2.19.0

App UI is great but core features don’t workYou book this really important cut the day before a very important day. That works pretty well. This app’s flow was well tuned. Days go by and you receive a push notification that your appointment has been changed - tap to confirm this change. Except the notification doesn’t bring you to the appointment in the app to confirm, ok poor development but I can find it from here right? Yeah, sure, but there is no option to confirm a change. Looks no different than a booked appointment. Let’s try using the email that you receive to confirm the change, yeah that too doesn’t take you where you need to be. So where to now? No way to confirm a change like it wants you to 🤷‍♂️ I know what I made it for and can see the time was pushed back. No big deal. A week later I show up for my appointment at the new time but wouldn’t you know I no longer have one. I couldn’t confirm a change so my appointment was dropped. Thanks team!.Version: 2.1.68

Randomly cancels appointmentsTwice in two days the system has cancelled my appointment with a local barber. The first I'd left work early, only for it to be cancelled en route. The second cancelled with literally minutes before the appointment. The barber being fully booked couldn't fit me in, and they had no record on their system of the original booking, nor its cancellation. I've not had a problem in the past, but clearly something has happened, and it is currently not fit for purpose. Second star given only because of past performance..Version: 2.12.2

AnnoyingWould be great if you didn’t ask for location services to be activated AND access to my contacts EVERY single time I open the app..Version: 2.1.42
