PDF Expert - Editor & Reader for Positive User Reviews

This is a great appI use this app for my lectures in vet school (which move extremely quickly, as you could imagine). The only drawbacks I have had involve the overall flexibility in functionality. I would, for example, like to be able to make certain parts of the text box bold, italicized, different font sizes, for emphasis of certain topics. This is only available in the sticky notes part. I would also find it useful to be able to have a blank sheet on one side, as one would use for Cornell notes. My lecture slides do not always have a lot of free room - I understand this is not the fault of the app, just a suggestion for people with PDFs that are a bit crowded, but would still like annotations side-by-side, or overhanging on the side, to be able keep everything in view as much as possible. Otherwise, this is the ONLY app I use for my slides as I am the most satisfied with its functions and general ease of use..Version: 7.2.5

Great in Full Screen - so so in Split ViewThis app has been great as it does what it says on the tin. Good feature set for annotating, reading and storing PDFs. I have no need for the paid features, but if I did I’d snap them up. I find the free features wonderful. My only gripe is that once Split View is established you lose the ability to view tabs. I find it very frustrating that unless you have a 3/4 Split View, you cannot quickly switch between open PDFs. I’ve mentioned it to them and they’ve thanked me for the feedback, but yeah, 5 stars if this was there..Version: 7.17.4

I love this app. However I want to download on my MacBook Air. But it requested me to purchase it. I thought if I purchased once it could sync with my apple products. If it is only for registered two products, can I change one to other one? Please help! Cheere.Version: 6.6.16

Still one more feature to make it a perfect appThis app is so versatile! I have used it across different jobs in different sectors! Absolutely brilliant! It is missing on feature... create your own tillable PDF form. I would be willing to pay additional money for that feature!.Version: 6.6.9

AwesomeI just annotated a document for an hour and it blinked and all disappeared; no save; no undo, and it kept doing it and even though I have paid to Dec 2021 I deleted it as I am so ticked off you can’t imagine, and have used it for a few years, just horrible..Version: 7.4.13

Do everything PDF application for iOSEssential application for me. I get several faxes a week (via eFax) these are PDF files and I can send directly to PDF expert, mark them, physically sign them (on screen) and re fax. I get PDF reports that I need to fill out, and this application makes it easy. Type or draw on the PDF document, then email the edited copy. It allows me to move pages in a PDF document (sometimes page 1 needs to be page 3 - easy to move). I can rotate pages, delete or add pages. I have merged up to 4 PDF documents into one new document. Removed, edited and sorted pages. Delete pages you don’t need. I can fill out PDF forms. (Have not made a form that has to be filled out - never had the need, so I can’t comment on this capability). I can fill out any form by entering text on the appropriate line even if it was not originally meant to be filled out online. [NOTE: I am a real user and have never been contacted by Readdle. I don’t rate many applications, but this one has been so useful to me, I wan’t others to use it so Readdle will continue to support this excellent program.].Version: 6.5.3

Excellent app-keeps me organisedThis app is amazing whether you’re scanning photos or documents. It has everything you need esp when you’re on the road. Signing documents? It’s easy peasy :) Also a great time saver for my daughter in the university-all because of family sharing feature. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED..Version: 6.3.0

Love the new updated designI like the new design and the I pdf files are more responsive now, even the bigger ones.Version: 7.1.5

Great but needs improvement1. Now iPads are powerful and we can open many files at the same time, but scrolling over long thin file tabs is a bad way to switch between them... Xodo/ Notability has the option of see these tabs as a pop up window and navigation over there is easier. 2. Gives an option to fix the tools area, to disable the auto-hiding mode. Goodnotes has a fixed tool area and it can be good when auto-hiding is annoying to some people since it can be often triggered accidentally. 3.Double tab to jump from different modes, fit to page, zoomed in, fit to width. I like this part of Goodnotes. 4. A great app but needs improvement and definitely does not justify the yearly subscription price tag so far from my trial period experience. Hyperlink would be a very great tool for me sometimes but I don't like to pay 50 dollars every year when I could find other methods to replace this function to some extent..Version: 7.4.21

Useful Pencil supportI love how intuitive PDF Expert is. I mainly use it to markup and annotate documents and since investing in a Pencil, it is even better. Now I can choose annotate mode and pick a tool, such as a highlighter and just scroll through a document and highlight everything I want without having to switch tools, modes or anything. It just detects when I am using my finger to scroll and when I’m using the pencil to highlight. This is a huge time and mistake saver when you have to highlight, underline or strike out many areas in multi page documents. It is also much easier to write comments or notes next to the text. It’s also one of only a very few PDF editors I have found that can edit existing text, matching the font, size and style! I have tried quite a few PDF editors on iPad but PDF Expert has made everything so easy with lots of powerful tools..Version: 7.2.0

Nuance and Peace go hand in hand #SlavaUkraineWhile I deeply sympathise with the people of Ukraine who are facing unimaginable atrocities, human rights abuses and hardships at the hands of the Russian government and military; it is wrong to hold the average Russian citizens collectively responsible. It is wrong to punish them and deprive them of very good software just because of their nationality. Please stand with the brave Russian citizens who are being arrested and beaten by the police in Moscow & St Petersburg for protesting the despicable actions of their government. Punish the Russian government, not the Russian people..Version: 7.9.6

AppeasedSince my contact, they have been extremely helpful and remedied my issue. Very happy..Version: 7.7.2

Grad StudentAlmost all my classmates use Notability, which I had and used for the first part of my program. I switched to this app, and have fallen in love. It allows me to organize my files multiple folders deep and they stay in my iCloud Drive which allows me to access my notes on any computer since it’s just saved as a PDF. It allows you to select to highlight the text vs. just using the highlighter so my notes look much neater. You Can also strike through and underline the text. You still have the ability to hand write notes and such on top of just doing the changes to the text. It gives ability to view the outline format, and if you purchase the upgrade you can build the outline (which has been a lifesaver for 120 slide class PowerPoints), also with the upgrade you can also make links within the text..Version: 6.5.5

Where has this been all my lifeI’m actually taking the time to write my first review as this app is amazing. Been searching for a free app that lets you do basic editing and sending of PDFs for an iPhone for years. Don’t waste your time with other apps. Thanks pdf expert.Version: 7.5

ImpressedSmooth, good looking.Version: 7.4.2

The best PDF readerI’m a completely paperless lawyer and pdfs are my life. Exciting, I know! PDF expert is to my mind the best iOS and Mac pdf reader. I have seen the reviews on PDF expert 7 and sympathise with the views expressed about the move to subscription basis, rather than one off payment. Readdle did not handle this well, particularly given their overselling of the changes from pdf expert 6. Nevertheless, the changes are good, such as the permanent annotations pane (rather than drop down) and the new tools for pdf creation. I’m happy to pay a subscription for something I use for work every day..Version: 7.1.3

Still the best app I’ve ever usedI’ve been using PDFExpert for many years and it’s just wonderful. The integration with google, Dropbox, and OneDrive is brilliant, the markup tools are very powerful, and it is able to keep all my PDFs in perfect order. The development is always ongoing, and results in improvements both big and small. The company is incredibly responsive, and any time I’ve encountered a problem (usually pretty minor) they come back to me within a day to ensure they understand the issue, and then resolve it pretty fast..Version: 7.14.0

Great for Annotating and HighlightingFor the past year, I've been using the free version of PDF Expert to annotate PDF documents at work, and I must say that it has proven itself to be reliable and trustworthy in terms of its build quality. Writing digitally is the same as writing on a piece of paper, which is good by me. Although I have not tried out the premium features (as I have no need for them), the free version is great, which shows me that their premium feature should just as good, if not better. Lastly, I definitely like the fact that PDF Expert syncs seamlessly with iCloud, Dropbox and OneDrive, without me having to create a copy of the file on the iPad separately, make edits, then save the edited copy back to the respective cloud source. Again, it's proven itself to be quite reliable, and should be something to consider if you regularly annotate PDFs either personally or professionally..Version: 7.5.1

Full Featured App backed by great ServicePDF expert is really easy to install and use. The ability to create, edit and sync PDF documents across multiple devices is very useful. The ability to export PDF documents into other programs such as Word and PowerPoint is also a real bonus. I had an issue recently with signing in and billing due to my fault in setting up 2 accounts. The team at Readdle dealt with my query in a friendly, professional and rapid manner. It is so refreshing to experience great customer service backing up a high specification product. There may be cheaper alternatives for PDF editing on the store, but the combination of full features and customer service/support represent, in my opinion, great value for money..Version: 7.15.2

Absolutely love all your products but....I have purchased most of the productivity apps from Readdle. PDF pro, PDF converter, Calendars, Printer Pro etc. They are simple, yet powerful. They have truly transformed my ability work on my iPad Pro. But... I cant justify a monthly subscription fee for your latest add ons. Sorry. I think a one off payment is more reasonable. If sometime in the future you feel your product has advanced so much that you need to charge again, re-release an updated version and charge for that. Again, huge fan, but subscription based pricing for software is something that does not sit well with me - perhaps I am getting older and think back to the glory days of one off payments.....Version: 7.1.6

The bestHands down the best pdf app on the iPad. Well thought-out interface, can access iCloud files without importing, search function with context… wonderful! My single small complaint is that pencil input feels janky compared to goodnotes, somehow not as smooth or accurate. Love this app though..Version: 7.9.9

Great App, Beats Competition, but…Functionality not consistent across all platforms. (Tools and cloud files). Merging files is wonky. I love so much about it, in many ways it’s the best PDF tools out there. Which is shocking in 2023. PDFs aren’t as specialized as the were 20 years ago, literally everyone uses them. Why don’t we have all the tools for the most ubiquitous and flexible file type on the planet? Bluebeam is powerful but garbage interface, actually makes working with PDFs slower. Acrobat has long been the industry standard, and although it’s the most powerful, true to Adobe ethos, it’s with very restrictive and greedy paywall, and it’s geological slowness to adapt and modernize allows startups like PDF Expert to give us what we need. Please keep it up, guys! (and support and love to you and your country).Version: 7.14.1

Superb for University profsI'm hooked - totally I just completed a course where I graded 40 students in 3 sequential writing tasks. I'm using an iPad pro with pencil and was able to do ( and undo) spontaneous comments and suggestions so easily . Then I added in a short 1-2 minute voice annotation providing suggestions for improvement and deeper guides to future work. JSTOR selections I'm a prolific user reader of PDFs from journals and use PDF expert and my iPad + pencil to create margin notes on virtually everything I read - the pencil annotations in particular are great because using notes entered in via a keyboard is ever so slow for me relative to my speed of thought.Version: 6.4

Was a first-rate app, now spoilt by unrealistic pricing.I have written a very positive review in the past, and for many years recommended the app to my Open University colleagues in the UK. Since I’m a previous purchaser I retain most of the Pro features, but some of these features are essential for marking Maths scripts, and I can no longer contemplate recommending it to my colleagues as new purchasers at this unbelievably high subscription price. I still think it’s an excellent piece of software, but there are other apps which now are probably as good at a one-off price which is much less than this annual subscription. Please reconsider your pricing policy before users desert you..Version: 7.1.10

Great app but...I use the App in my business for a lot of service techs in the field. It generally works well. It would be great if it had options to hide certain menu options and editing. Keeping it clean and simple and have the ability to switch off some options would be great!.Version: 6.3.2

The bestIt is the best paid PDF app available in the market. No regrets at all. 100% customer satisfaction. I recommend it to all.Version: 6.6.15

You won't want anything else!Simply the best PDF app available on the iPad ! I am using this alongside their companion app PDF Converter, and they are two of the most used and valuable apps on my iPad. However I’ve recently purchased a new M2 MacBook Air and I’ve subscribed to the premium version of PDF Expert on it, and I’m surprised that there’s no discount available on the Premium version for the iPad if you’ve already paid a quite large amount for the Mac version. For this reason alone I’ve docked a star of my review, and I really thing you need to think about a loyalty discount!..Version: 7.14.3

New version crippled my favorite appI loved PDF Expert for the first 2 years that I used it. An incredible tool — to synch across all my cloud services (Google, OneDrive, Dropbox), and to easily mark up and edit PDFs. Then, last year, they “improved” it with a major update. Some changes were mildly annoying (like hiding commonly used tools several clicks down). But the real problem is basic performance. Documents now constantly lag. Handwriting with the pencil fails to appear on screen for 5 seconds after you write it — leaving you waiting, like an idiot, wondering whether to write it again or just wait or shut the app. It has made it almost unusable, which is a tragedy. I really wish I could “downgrade” to the 2018 version of the app, which was a jewel. When this first happened, I assumed it was growing pains with a major rewrite, and that they would de-but it within a few weeks. But nothing has happened. More than 6 months have gone by... I have the latest version of the app, running on the most powerful iPad Pro on the market... and it continue to freeze, freeze, freeze. Readdle: where is your development team?? Are they on vacation? Is no one tracking usage data on how the app is actually working for users?.Version: 7.2.7

Unable to select photo qualityUse PDF Expert mainly to log site inspections, often taking many photo. I used to be able to set photo quality low to keep the file size low so I can email the file to myself as a record. Now all photos are hi def so the file sizes are just too large. If I cannot send the pdf in emails then it is no use to me..Version: 7.9.2

Lost without itSuperb purchase. I use this app for work purposes and I’m lost without it. All my documents are on this and now my desktop and laptop are redundant, emergency use only. I have tried other free apps but not a patch on this app. If you are serious on needing work done first time and have the ability to email straight then pay for this app, you will not be disappointed.Version: 6.4.1

Good but crashes and lacks good google drive integrationGood and very useful app. However lacks offline files caching for google drive. When I am offline I am unable to access files I was recently editing if I am editing them from google drive. Would be nice to allow certain files as folders to be accessible offline. Also crashes regularly especially when moving large chunks of writing..Version: 7.9.3

Great people :)The app itself is really impressive and in my opinion, worth the price. The people behind the app, I feel, are incredibly thoughtful and responsive. I emailed with a concern about the app, and they responded quickly and politely, and fixed the issue quickly along with sending me an email updating me :).Version: 7.16.2

So, so goodThere are so few apps that bring me joy every time I use them, but PDF Expert is one of them. It provides all the functionality I need - but plenty of apps do that. This one is special because it works *just* right. No extra taps. Whenever I guess how something should work, it does! And I spend a LOT of time with PDFs, so being efficient is crucial. Plus, I totally live out of Dropbox, and its connection is completely reliable. And finally, I go back and forth between iPad and MacOS and PDF Expert works appropriately and efficiently on each. I’m spending the time to write this review because I depend on PDF Expert every day and want to make sure it continues to live for a long time. I see people using Acrobat and see how much they tap and click and what a mess it is. Yeah for the simplicity and reliability of PDF Expert!.Version: 7.18.1

PerfectThis app can zoom in for fine details very far. I have Read many of the other reviews which were critical to the app because you need to pay. However, you do not need to as there was a button which takes you off having to pay, but slightly limited. You can do so much and I cannot find a thing which I want it to do and it can't..Version: 7.4.4

Amazing appGreat team keeps testing and advancing the app to be more intuitive and productive.Version: 7.2.0

Best PDF app everReaddle make great stuff, and this app just keeps getting better. I’ve been a user for years and I just experienced the PDF Reader function when opening a A4 print formatted PDF. It made reading it on my phone so easy! Thank you Readdle 🥰.Version: 7.9

Perfection!I’ve been using PDF Expert for years and it’s not only been a joy to use day-to-day, but the team have constantly been improving it with both large and small updates. The integration with various cloud platforms and the ease of editing documents have made a big difference to my productivity. Can’t recommend highly enough!.Version: 7.14.0

UpsellingI have used this program for years and own it for both my computer and my iPad. They came out with a professional version and now all the functions that I had in the ones that I bought are gone. I know that I had them because I used one of them every day to redact information on PDFs. I sent information into the company saying that after the professional version came out I lost the ability to do redactions. The function still works on the computer version that I bought but not on the iOS version to get that I must upgrade to the new professional version. If you buy this program be aware you may be required to upgrade to get features that you use every day. I sent him proof of purchase and they still don’t have an answer for me they keep telling me that there is a version for iOS and there’s a version for windows operating systems. I Purchased for both and I know that already my only question is why didn’t the way up teacher that I already owned..Version: 7.1.8

Update is SO BUGGY please fix it or revert it ASAPI use this app all day every day. And now I’m in a hang up because of its issues. I mark-up pdf documents, and i also am now using a stylus with the iPad Pro. This buggy update is going to cost me my job. It’s caused the pdf to crash the app, and when I emailed it to my old iPad with the non-updated version of the app this new pdf crashed that app too. It’s not a corrupt pdf, it’s corrupt because of this new updates bugs. The marks I put in the pdf using this app literally corrupted the pdf file. Other issues include the page moving, instead of staying still, so it’s not allowing the pen to write or copy. That is frustrating. And often I find that I can’t swipe thru the pages anymore, which makes this app very difficult to be patient with or useful. Considering you now want to charge more money to use this app you better fix it!.Version: 7.1.8

Not good for filling in formsVery disappointed very difficult to fill in application forms a real fiddle . If you upload you own pdf form for customers which is what I wanted to do, fill out customers details and then email that application form to office to be processed filling the clients details is difficult and filled with difficulties a application for filling in names of a customer and details which is why I brought it..Version: 5.0.1

Brilliant with only a minor flawPDF Expert 5 is an amazing app that is my most used on an iPad. It's super fast and has great functionality where I can organise the hundreds of documents (literally) I have in a manner that looks beautiful. The only limitation is that there are 5 tabs only. So if you need many tabs open at once (say you're a uni student who needs to check multiple sources for an assignment or a project), you're unable to do so. Hopefully this will be resolved in the next update!.Version: 5.5.7

It works very wellUnfortunately after the latest update, I cannot open the app anymore. It crashes every time. Shame.Version: 7.3.1

From great to good...For years now, PDF Expert has been my go-to PDF app on my iPhone and iPad. While concerned about the move to subscription fees (and the amount of the fee itself) for professional users, if the app maintained it’s standard it would be worth it. One of the unique features that made PDF Expert truly stand out was “Readdle Transfer” – the ability to read & edit a PDF that was open on another device. Sadly, this was removed from this version of PDF Expert. To lose such a frequently used and well-loved feature without any warning (or mention – it’s still described as a feature on their website) was very disappointing. While I still think PDF Expert is a great PDF reader and editing app, other apps now offer equivalent features and ease of use. Since it no longer offers any standout features, I am no longer sure it justifies the high (now annual) fee for pro users..Version: 7.1.7

Moving password feature to Pro is very disappointingEDIT: Thank you to Readdle for responding to my review with information. HIGHLY APPRECIATED. They are correct in that to access the password protect file feature, even in the non-Pro version, you would do so from within the individual file rather than from the file navigation view as I had assumed would be consistent. I missed this. To comment on the non-Pro version of the app overall, I think it’s fantastic, believe it will easily handle day to day PDF needs of most users, and I wholeheartedly recommend it. Updated review from 1 stars >> 5 stars. ORIGINAL: The app was able to password protect files previously. After a recent update, it became a Pro feature, apparently. Taking a previously included feature and moving it behind an additional paywall is incredibly disappointing to say the least. The review is not for features included, but for practices of the company. Password protecting is not a “Pro” feature. It should remain a standard feature as our digital information is increasingly at risk. Pretty shameful stance..Version: 7.7.7

Could be a perfect PDF viewerI have been using this app for reading and annotating on PDF files. It’s almost perfect except for lacking of a proper page crop function. Currently there is one function BUT it is fully automated and only applies to text PDF books. When I tried to crop the margin of PDF books made from scanned pictures, there is always a notification that page crop is not available. Other readers as well as PDF expert Mac version could let people manually set page size and choose how much margins need to be cut from page and it doesn’t seem to be a real difficult function. Please consider adding this one in the future update. Thank you.Version: 7.4.10

Great appPDF Expert has become my app of choice (after trying a number) for all the documents I use for meetings and holding reports etc. I prefer its editing to the others and it's much more intuitive..Version: 5.2.3

PDR REVIEWHi there Apple I use this app on every day at work and find it very very useful quick and efficient reading drawings downloading files writing notes and captions on any down loaded file, and I learning more and more how it helps me be more efficient with my daily work, in the office or out on site it is great, thanks Apple 🙂.Version: 6.5.4

Love it, BUTI use the pro version of this application on my iPad with an apple pencil. Perfect software and device combination for my court case brief annotations, and digital textbooks for school. Currently providing a rating of 4 stars because I want more custom interface personalizations. for an example a custom color palette that consisted of more colors, like 10-12, palette to be locked and saved on my toolbar instead of changing back to default. Instead of having it layer under more that two clicks (or touches of my pen). Yes I have a half a dozen options now two clicks away. Personally I would prefer a dozen. I do see the favorite tab and that is okay. The annotation feature is my favorite, I enjoy how easy it is to make a paired down outlines for studying. Love the option to have a couple documents up at once. Love the bookmark feature! This is a great tool. Looking forward to more collections of stickers, specifically stickers that I can insert text into. Please take me back to 90s Word graphics. Another factor, wish this application had the ability to create or edit fillable forms. I was disappointed when I found fillable form creation was not a feature. Very essential during these pandemic times. This application is the primary reason I purchased an iPad. Thank You!.Version: 7.4.15

Latest update workingI had left a bad review when I had lost some of the features I had paid for but after latest update they are back. This is my favourite app and very happy they corrected the situation..Version: 7.1.8

A lot better but still needs a smoother UXThe app is finally good enough to use regularly but the UX is still clunky in a number of places. Good points are - nice folder system - fast and reliable - annotations - recent files list Things they need to work on are - annotations still nowhere near as good as GoodNotes - they visibly change/blur when you use the eraser somewhere else on the page - too many clicks to use the annotation tools and too many options meaning you often click the wrong thing - can’t move a PDF to a folder while viewing the PDF but have go back to the file view and drag and drop, which is also not smooth.Version: 6.3.2

Long time user upgrading from version 6I’m a long time user who purchased the full app capabilities along time ago and i use this app on a daily basis & i wouldn't know what to do without it, i held on upgrading to the new version for a while until things settled down because i use this app for my studying and i cannot afford any mistakes. Version 7 is great Upgrading is alone worth it just for the dark mode Editing tools have changed in position which was annoying the first few days but you get used to it and its fine now, i can’t tell what else is new and if you’re thinking that you’ll miss new things if you stay on ver.6, you’re not missing anything major other than a facelift for the app itself. There is a bit of delay when switching to another app and going back -the pdf is blurry for a couple of seconds- which i hope is a bug As for pdf editing if you purchased the capability before i can confirm that its still in the app without a subscription I don’t know if the subscription strategy will work but honestly i liked buying a new version every couple of years and i was fine with that, but i wouldn't pay 50$/yr, but if there was a cheaper tip jar or lower priced level, i will in-fact purchase the full version if it becomes available on the store.Version: 7.2.0

UpdateDespite supporting this product over the years, I now find I've been bumped to latest version but had hold and add sig - removed! To get a feature, which I already had, I now have to pay £50/annum! £15 for a one off upgrade is ok, £50/year is bollox, and, more than I'm prepared to pay or recommend to my customers (40 licences). Really disappointed, enough to now look to alternative products, which are now catching up with similar functionality....Version: 7.2.0

Loved it, now my files are held hostageI’ve used this app for almost three years to save and organize scholarly research articles for graduate school. I loved everything about it. Now I’m completing my capstone project and I can no longer upload anything new unless I pay 50 dollars a year for services I already had access to before. I cannot even highlight passages. No warning was given to me prior to this change. On top of that, several of my most important files are now unretrievable due to being corrupted when I decided to save them to the cloud so I could pick them up on other devices. I intended to keep this essential library of research into my professional career, and now the only way for me to do that (and complete my capstone project) is to painstakingly re download each article onto a new app. This would not be so infuriating if I had been given notice of the upcoming changes..Version: 7.3.7

Great app - easy on the eyes/eye strainThis app is fantastic for reading PDFs. You can store them on iCloud and sync them between your devices, it’ll remember the page and where you left off! This’ll help you read with ease wherever you are because of the ability to switch the background to black and text to white - something iBooks doesn’t have. This helps reduce eye strain drastically as there’s less light smacking your eyes. Highly recommend, it’s now one of few apps I use on daily bases! I urge the developers to let us change the tone of the text as well, instead of just white/black option. Also the background as well. What would take it to a whole another level would be if we could change the font. Although idk how feasible that is with the PDF format. Also ePub/mobi/digital book support would be great. So we can have an all in 1 digital reader..Version: 6.5

Latest version crash a lot for new and old IPAD PROI was happy with the product for a while. However, recent ISO upgrade and PDF expert updates i found that PDF expert crashing a lot. Not sure what is the root cause. Bit disappointed by this issue. Any notes are added to file also disappeared. Although it is great app for taking notes and marking PDF file, i urge developer to perform further testing and fix the crashing issues. Thanks Ahmed.Version: 6.6.6

Dishonest reviewersThese negative reviews are extremely dishonest. Readdle is an amazing company—always super responsive to its customers. If you upgraded to PRO in a previous version, then you still have the same functionality. Tap restore purchases and stop badmouthing one of the best developers in the App Store. The new subscription is geared toward professionals (read: businesses) and is a bargain compared to an Adobe subscription. Honestly, I prefer Readdle’s UI to Adobe’s hands down. If you’re not a business, then just be grateful for the free updates and keep on freeloading for as long as you can. Software is a service, not a tool. It takes a lot of time and energy to build and maintain. To those users who deleted the app because they can’t have 15 colors of highlighters or whatever— good luck finding an app that can even nips at the heels of PDF Expert in terms of functionality..Version: 7.1.7

Great app that keeps improvingThis is one of the best PDF apps available. I give credit to the developer for not resting on his laurels by continuing to add features. I would like to see expanded drawing tools and the ability to embed photos directly into files selected by clicking on an icon..Version: 6.4.1

A very satisfied professional lawyerAs a professional lawyer working in Courts and Tribunals across the UK, I need something for my iPad Pro that enables me to work from .pdf files quickly, efficiently and without the need to carry tons of paper. This works perfectly for me and has never let me down - unlike other things I have seen fail in court! It also works seamlessly across my other Apple devices. Keep up the good work!.Version: 6.3.1

BrilliantBrilliant app which I use all the time for creating and editing board papers. I love the features allowing me to highlight text, add comments, circle words etc. I couldn’t do without it now..Version: 6.1.12

An excellent optionI had been looking for a free PDF viewer for the iPad with editing capabilities for a long time. Most PDF viewers only allowed decent editing when a subscription or a paid version was bought. PDF expert helped filled that hole and has allowed me to attain everything I was looking for free! I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great PDF viewer and one with great Apple Pencil and cloud storage support. Great job to the developers!.Version: 7.4.5

Great alternative to AcrobatI’m currently deciding between this and Acrobat Reader, this basically does every Acrobat can but easier & faster (Also the PDF signing here is so much better than Acrobat). One issue is: I can’t figure out if there is OCR for the iPad version. I know there is OCR for PDF expert for mac, but does it not exist here? If so when will it arrive? OCR is really important to me..Version: 7.13.0

Great AppThis is one of the best apps I have had the pleasure of using. I am using it on my ipad air Gen 4. I am getting personal use out of it for language learning. I have the pdf in here and take all kinds of notes about pronunciation and things. I also use this for work. I have all kinds of engineering documents I need to read and edit. I like doing my drawing and editing by hand at first, and this app is great for that. I used to print out documents and draw on them, and this has that feel without wasting and carrying around a bunch of paper. I also love the fun colors and stickers you can use. I use them to the max. I pretty much put the avocado sticker on every page. It makes me feel like a kid who is having fun when I am doing an otherwise tedious task..Version: 7.9

Best pdf editor by farI 've been using it for a while now and love it. I use it with large pdf documents. The ability to highlight text and annotate is unsurpassed. Particularly clever because you can send a copy of your highlighted text items to email, where it sends the page number and highlighted text verbatim. Also clever because annotations do not increase the file size, as for example preview does on a mac. I sync my Dropbox account to this - it allows me to work on PDFs on my 2 iPads, MacBook, and iPhone - each updating automatically. Get rid of the instability and this is the best PDF app/ editor by far. Thoroughly recommended..Version: 6.4.1

Very good on the wholeBeen using this app for about a year now. It’s very good, but I have two niggling problems. 1. When pressing for a signature the signature option doesn’t pop up straight away. I have to try numerous times before it works. 2. When I input a signature the app frequently crashes. iPad Air 2 with the latest OS and app updates. If these 2 problems could be rectified then I could give 5 stars..Version: 6.6.4

Almost perfect! This app has been vital to my routine as a graduate student for the last year and a half. It serves me well overall, especially the ability to easily sync my bookmarks, outlines, and annotations across devices (iPad and MacBook). Two issues that have come up for me: (1) It would be great if the iPad version had a sort of “zoom lock,” so that I could more easily rest my palm on the screen while making annotations with Apple Pencil. The app can be a bit hypersensitive to the palm, so that when I go to make an annotation, the page zooms or scrolls, and I have to readjust the page before writing. Sometimes this happens multiple times before I am able to make a single annotation. It would be easily fixed if I could lock the zoom at “page width” or similar. (2) If I make a bunch of annotations on my iPad, then immediately go to rename the document, the annotations are lost. I’ve learned not to do that. I simply have to back out of the document, i.e. return to the folder where it is located, and allow my changes to sync. Then I can safely rename the document. But this process is not intuitive, and it has cost me some important annotations in the past..Version: 7.14.0

Great App for WorkWith the recent update, the app has become unusable. I use this daily for work and while typing into a pdf tillable form, it keeps refreshing or reloading every few seconds, sending me out of the fillable box and not filling what I have typed. I constantly have to restart my sentence only for the form to refresh again and restart the process. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app a number of times but it has not resolved the problem. In addition, I have a premium subscription and even though I select the restore button under settings, my premium features are not restored. I now only have 4 out of the seven menu items I had previously. I hope you fix this fast or I will have to find another program since I cannot reliably use it in the current state. I have been using this program and other readdress apps for about 4 years and have loved the apps up till this moment..Version: 7.16.0

I like the app, BUT....I have purchased PDF Expert on iOS and MAC, and I do like the functionality, when they don’t take it away and make you purchase something else. Readdle, care to explain how I used to be able to convert to PDF inside the app but now have to purchase a separate converter? Using updates to remove functionalities is underhanded and conniving. Please enlighten me when that happened, and was it reported to customers that the update would do It?.Version: 6.5.2

Great but expensiveIt’s a great app. I’ve always opted to do most work on the Mac version as it had more features. Now that it’s united and a subscription model I’m a bit disappointed that Readdle don’t do a pro subscription to unlock all apps like Microsoft 365. Individually all the app subscriptions, and I have all Readdle apps, is on expensive outlay for a light user who enjoys the pro features now and then. Please consider an annual plan for all apps £50 for everything would be great value! As opposed to no subs on your free plans!.Version: 7.10.0

Not badTakes a little while longer to open also the coloured hi-lighter pens only store 4 at a time, the previous version had 6. It does some other things well like, if u resize a window the following windows are all the same size. To get the most from this use it in conjunction with PDF convertor from readdle..Version: 5.1.1

Too much about the profit rather than the customer experienceThis is a great work tool, but to be able to move from one Mac device to another like a MacBook to an iPad and be able to scribe on the iPad PDF and then hand off to the MacBook again, you need to pay for the MacBook version PLUS an annual subscription to the iPads/iPhone version of PDF Expert too. When I queried this with the developers after purchasing the MacBook version their attitude was like it or lump it. Really really expensive way to manage your pdf’s from one device to another. Great idea, bad implementation. It seems the developers are profit focused rather than customer centric. Look elsewhere for a solution. I am going to..Version: 7.5.1

Indispensable App & Superior Customer Service! For over 6 years I’ve been using this app & it has been a fantastic experience. There was a learning curve in the beginning but after that I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. Originally I bought PDF Expert to study & archive periodicals but it has become an integral part of my iPad life: keeping all of my scanned bits of paper & recipes organized, filling out online forms, even doing creative projects. And talk about customer service! If only all companies had their finesse! I’ve had to contact them 3 or 4 times with questions & not only do they write back promptly but the tone of the response is thoughtful & friendly. And I don’t know if it was just a coincidence but early on there was only a deep purple highlighter so dark to be almost unusable so I submitted a request for lilac. On the next update lilac was there! Now, of course, there are plenty of color options. Another time I wrote them because I couldn’t figure out how to do something & they wrote me back as if they had nothing better to do than help me. So impressed. With every update PDF Expert only gets better. Bravo to the Readdle team! Congratulations on many excellent products backed by a superior customer experience! Keep up the good work!.Version: 6.5

Does what you want it to doI use this app every day on an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil to mark up, grade, and return online homework submissions that students submit either as PDF or phone camera photos of handwritten work. Exceedingly helpful for adding comments to first drafts of papers (including in type of students can’t read my handwriting) and theses. I also use it in committee meetings almost daily to refer to and add comments to documents as they are being discussed. It is also a great app for adding doodles during the boring parts :) In my opinion, the only things missing are (1) the ability to add an extra blank page when you need to create a summary page of notes and (2) the ability to take a snapshot of a section that includes drawings / images/ equations for pasting into another app (such as an email)..Version: 6.3.2

Correcting myself — I was wrong and tech support was excellentFrustrating experience outlined below; my tone was not nice. When I reached out direct to Readdle, it turned out even though i only actively installed the app on the iPad, the app was on both iphone and ipad, thus I couldn’t delete the PDF Expert folder until app was deleted on both devices. Readdle support was professional, and responded in a reasonable time. They were so good and pleasant the review goes from 1* to an easy 5*. Maybe the app wasn’t for me for now, but customer support that listens is worth a great rating. I. Was. Wrong. Thank you Readdle. ==== Old review ==== When I tried out the app, everything worked okay, but it just wasn’t what I was looking for. It created a folder for PDF Expert files in my iCloud folder, which created one in my iCloud for Windows. I uninstalled the app from the iPad, and removed the file and folder from the iPad just fine...BUT THE PDF EXPERT FOLDER CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM WINDOWS. I have tried a number of ways to change the folder’s Read-Only permissions on Windows in order to remove it (it’s empty). I CANNOT change permissions (access denied) via command prompt, Windows powershell, the GUI, or anything. Don’t point at Windows as the problem—nothing else installs a read-only directory other than PDF Expert. Not LiquidText, not the Downloads folder, just this one. Wretched programming on the iCloud synchronization..Version: 7.4.10

Lovely but buggyAccess to OneDrive is great for first use. After that it loses links to folders you’ve used. Work around: delete the link to OneDrive, link OneDrive again, determine which of the 2 folders you should use that appear (one is read only). And don’t close the app if you want to keep access to the folder in question. Very frustrating - 3 stars: Customer services were helpful!.Version: 6.6.13

FantasticDoes everything well. JavaScript support makes a huge difference, though a few extra options here would make a world of difference. Can’t fault the PDF side, though the ability to add a PNG to the saved signature would be far better than signing with my finger (though that option is brilliant on the run). Also when using JavaScript to lock a form and email itself, the file grows massively... 98kb to 2mb... something seriously odd here!.Version: 6.6.8

Finally one that works!I have tried so many PDF apps including those that offer hands free operation which is actually no use to me. Then I came across this app and downloaded the free trial and within two days I had decided this was the one for me and so I bought the full version. It just works and it does it flawlessly. I haven’t as yet used all the features and it is certainly packed with some and there are probably many I won’t even use. For a general PDF viewing platform this one has them all beat..Version: 7.9.11

Needs a little tweekingI normally would give it 5 star but since IOS updated to 11, i have noticed it frequently freezes and crashes when importing files from another app. Forces you to kill the app more than once because of how it freezes before a crash. Sometimes when you reopen it, the file you were importing is still there and sometimes you have to go find it. It is integrated with multiple cloud accounts and works with safari as well as other file manager apps. I was lucky to have first downloaded it on a promo day when it was free and i have used it ever since. I strongly recommend for Ipad users. It actually offers more than adobe does and (for me it is free) but for those who purchase the app i assume the features would also be free. Also works very well on the iphone. Must have for PDFs hands down. This is my go to..Version: 6.6.2

Really good but needs a couple more featuresPDF Expert is a really well thought out app, but for my needs (marking up design drawings in the field) it really needs a couple of extra features. The option of a landscape mode for viewing PDFs would make a lot of sense for landscape drawings. An option to rotate text boxes (arbitrary angle would be ideal but cardinal angles would be better than nothing) is very important too..Version: 6.6.6

Reopening, and two identical pages in separate windowsThanks for providing this great app, probably the best free option on iOS. Yet from my point of view there’s are two major problems which are annoying. First, sometimes, recently most of the times the app reopens Every single time when I switch between apps, for example, whenever I’m reading something I frequently use my dictionary app so I have to switch apps a lot, and when the pdf app restarts and some times with a distorted page setup then it’s irritating. The second problem is that, when I want to open two distinct pages from the same pdf file, say, in one window I want to open chapter 1 and in the other window I like to open notes section of the book, but when I do this the other window shows exactly the same page, for example both windows show chapter one..Version: 7.10.5

Excellent appThis app is amazing in all ways. There is only one small change I would like to see. I use forms and the automatic text size in a field doesn't seem to work correctly. My text is still displayed too large to be all readable. Not a huge issue still give top marks.Version: 5.2.2

BrilliantChanged to readdle PDF expert having used another one for some time which worked well but after a series of upgrades kept crashing and then totally stopped working and I paid good money for this and then being told by support that I would have to wait, it was not their fault it was the IOS upgrades, this product is brilliant and I can sync it with the I phone version easily can only get better..Version: 5.0.4

So slow!I love the app but it takes forever to update files over OneDrive (which is what I really need it to do, and quickly so that I can make quick amends on the move and have updated copies on my laptop pronto). And it just wrecks the battery life by taking so long to update even minor amendments. It’s frustrating enough that I’m considering moving to a less useful but quicker reader/editor. Such a shame..Version: 7.4.4

Great software improving all the timeI use this on a large iPad Pro to mark up proofs of books. It is extremely useful as I can mark corrections as if I were writing on a physical paper but also change anything I have written. The earlier versions had some difficult quirks. For instance, saving and flattening files to my Mac was confusing. I have just uploaded the latest version, which promises to be better. There is also a problem deleting previous markings, as deleting several could lead to deleting something on an earlier page, which could be disastrous. It would be better to restrict deletions to the current page. I used to use GoodReader, which was a great piece of software but this is currently so much better..Version: 6.4

One of the BestI must say, by far this is one of the greatest apps I have ever used that I just had to write a review. Finally, there is an app the includes everything you could want to do on a pdf: make underlines with a variety of colors, highlight, also ADD NOTES to an underlined portion or highlighted text, type out notes even using different fonts, handwritten notes and so much more. This is such a wonderful tool to use for studying that I just cannot imagine a better way of doing things. I love the filing system with folders, linked to files app, to photos. Everything in one place is such a wonderful solution to so many problems. And thank you development team for putting forth the effort to make so many different widgets. You all have done a great job and makes me want to buy the app just to ensure you all are fully supported financially for the fine work done..Version: 7.16.2

Expert it is...Have been using this App for 2 or 3 years now and it has always performed as expected and desired. I use standard forms that I populate with individual data and it lines things up nicely and automatically. I don’t use all the features available but it always seems to do what I want..Version: 6.3.0

Missing full contents listIt would be helpful to have an option with a full contents list including numbers of pages on the side of the pdf, which would allow a quick pick of chosen title. It is a time consuming to browse page by page to find a particular title. At the moment the contents is showed only on the page(s) as it is published by the publisher of the pdf. However the PDF on my tablet shows still only main titles (the subtitles for each main chapter are missing). If I open the same pdf file in my laptop - the side contents is available and bot contents (on the side and as published) shows also subtitles of main chapters..Version: 7.8.2

Deleting textIt randomly deletes blocks of text, not the whole text box, just parts of it leaving some broken sentences and i’ve lost a few hours of work from it, please fix.Version: 7.2.12

Text in comments too smallI wrote to the developers about this in December 2019. The text in comments is about 5 pt in size. It is almost impossible to use comments on the iPad. I just downloaded the latest version and the problem is still there. Pinching out does NOT work on the comments text. Has the developer tried this? It is blatantly obvious it needs fixing. The use of this app in a work environment is greatly limited when collaborating with others. I sincerely hope the developers fix this ASAP..Version: 7.3.8

Surprising amount of free very useful features.Needed to scan a document to send to court and opened this app I’ve had on my phone for a while that I was only using as a pdf viewer/converter and was pleasantly surprised when scanning an image and saving as a pdf file was so simple and most of all, a free feature. My experience in the past is whenever I need to use an app for something important, it’s a paid version and I have to spend 5 minutes searching the App Store for a free option that is also going to watermark or make me sit through ads to use. This app made it simple enough and pleasant enough that I actually felt the need to go open the App Store, find this app, and write a review; that’s saying something! So- thanks PDF Expert for making an app that has free features that are actually incredibly useful and simple..Version: 7.9.6

Honestly, the best PDF reader ever! For the past couple of months, I have been solely relying on PDF readers for school work since the Pandemic has really taken over. It is very difficult for me to visit my local library for physical books, forcing me to turn towards electronic books instead. I’ve used various PDF readers in the past but have always been very uncomfortable with the limited features they offered until I discovered PDF Expert. This app has every feature I can ever ask for. One BASIC feature that most PDF readers did not have (from my experience) was the ability to change the PDF file into dark mode. The background of each page change into the color black and the fonts to the color white, making it easier to view at night. This feature has greatly improved my health. I no longer suffer from migraines and eye strains. Thank you Readdle! You guys are truly a blessing..Version: 7.4.18

PDF ExpertI have found PDF Expert to be very useful. Using my iPhone 6 plus and ScannerPro I scan documents and then upload them to PDF Expert. This is easy and useful, particularly when on the move. An excellent combination.Version: 5.2.1

5 star absolutelyI’ve used this app for four years and it is always my favourite PDF reader and editor. I think one of things I want it to improve is to make hand writing more beautiful...I feel that my hand writing is extremely bad in this app. If the colour of pen could be more various, it would be preferred as well..Version: 6.6.8

Complete Rip Off SubscriptionI paid for this app and other Readdle Apps. It appears that greed has now completely taken over this company. Having paid for this app and now asking for a $78 per year subscription for functionality that should be a reward for loyal customers who paid for these apps in one off charges before is just wrong. Makes me wonder when the other Readdle paid apps will start with these tricks too like Scanner Pro, etc. I think this is absolutely shameful behaviour ripping off long time loyal customers. Don’t worry though, most of what I need like converting web pages to PDF etc is natively possible within Apple Apps and shortcuts, so I don’t need this anyway..bye bye Readdle..Version: 7.4.15

Great App, Hope the “scroll to top” could be disabledI have great experience in reading books and papers with this app. It is the best PDF app I have used on both tablet and Mac. Except for the “scroll to top” option. I wonder who actually need that function ever? Like using the slide bar isn’t easy and fast enough, they need to click on the top area to get to the beginning of document instantly. I couldn’t imagine a single realistic scenario this could be useful. Instead, once in a while, I accidentally touched the top area and goes to the cover of my book. Then I need to find the page I was reading and reconnect. It feels more like a bug rather than a feature. I know this is an “feature” that from Apple. But it doesn’t look like they have any intention of fixing this. So this really becomes an annoying thing when I enjoy reading with PDFExpert. I will be very appreciated if there could be anyway to fix this from the app’s side..Version: 7.12.4

Great appThanks to all of the developers who work on making this one of the greatest apps you can have. This is the best app to allow organising documents and doing reports. I use this app everyday. The updates just keep making the app better..Version: 7.6

The free version is great! Everything I need...I’m a teacher and I only use the free version of this software, but that is all I need. It does everything flawlessly for marking student work when it is submitted as a PDF, which my school’s content management system handles well. This is such a valuable tool for me in this age of electronic submission and marking!.Version: 7.9.9

Great PDF Editing AppGreat app for editing documents daily. Multifunctional and serves its purpose. It would be great to have a edit function of text boxes with an arrow already. Rather than having to apply a text box and then draw an arrow from text to what you’re trying to identify..Version: 7.4.17

Subscription is evil!It is very expensive app now. As an early adopter I still have most of the features but many will not be able to use this app. Subscription model is like renting, rent an app. You do not own it..Version: 7.2.6.

ReviewNice app except you don't seem to be able to add pages and the text in sticky notes can't be highlighted or modified in other was. At times high lighting leaves gaps between the highlighted words..Version: 5.0.6

Good, but sometimes freezesThis app is great with the Ipad Pro 2020. I downloaded it for school so that I could take notes in my online readings for class and research. I have the Apple Pencil 2 and smart keyboard, which work very well with this app. I love that this app also automatically syncs with my Google Drive account. I store all my class files and online articles I’ve researched in my Drive. I can easily access the PDFs stored in my Drive through this app to read and take notes. Then, the PDF I took notes on automatically updates in my Drive. It cuts out a few extra steps and keeps things organized. There’s no extra downloads or transferring files between apps needed! The only thing I would complain about is that every once in awhile, the app freezes. I always have a few files open at once, so I don’t typically just click on a different file and it unfreezes. I am willing to take an occasional freeze from time to time in exchange for this app’s efficiency..Version: 7.4.0

Best PDF reader, editor and document managerI have used PDF Expert for my business to organize all my documents from companies I used to represent. Merge documents to prepare for customer meetings. So easy to quickly prepare information upon request for customers no matter where I was from my office to my car in between my appointments. Now that I am retired I still have need for PDF Expert for information from my reading and personal research I do online. Form editing is important for managing my investment and medical PDFs. I will keep using PDF Expert because I continue to find need for it going forward. The updates just keep making the app better and better. It is obvious that the PDF Expert team is dedicated to keep making this app the best in its product category..Version: 7.14.1

Get itI’m frugal when it comes to buying apps. Ok, I’m a cheapskate. Why should I pay for a pdf editor with so many free ones out there? Well, if all you do is open and email pdfs’s then you don’t need this app. If you do more than that, anything more, then this is well worth it. This apps features are already listed so I won’t repeat them. I didn’t see the page combining and removal feature listed which is exactly what I needed. This app has that. So for that alone I bought it. I do historical research and use a lot of PDFs. This apps organizational abilities for not just combining pages but copying, pasting, removing or adding photos and text is outstanding. Of course it has the features like the other editors have but none of the others have all the features this app has. It’s intuitiveness is excellent. It makes what I do so much better and easier that I’m honestly happy I paid for it. And that’s coming from a Scrooge😳.Version: 6.6.6

Great AppVery good app overall. Have used it for over a year now. My only suggestion would be that I want to be able highlight while in readability mode, rather than having to exit out highlight what I want then switch back. But as I said this is a good PDF editor..Version: 7.9.6

Fantastic for uniBest app I’ve used in terms of coverage, everything I need all in one place. Good use of cloud storage. Simple to get the hang of, adding in pages in PDFs is brilliant to add notes into lecture handouts where required. Great tracking for the Apple Pencil and recognition of hand placement. Some minor improvements for me include two finger tap to undo (or some more programmable gestures), easier transition between drawing shapes and annotation (include shapes within annotation?) or perhaps a ruler function. One other small thing would be the inclusion of a ‘smoothing’ function for handwriting, I have found in other apps it can help with presentation and legibility. Overall, this is a brilliant app and has helped me no end, I couldn’t imagine not having it now! Superb work..Version: 6.6.9

Not Knowing It Is from Ukraine until Today1. I’ve been using it everyday for reading and making notes, better than the build-in Books 2. The signature function is super useful 3. To the developers: please think twice before banning Russian customers as they are unlikely to be fooled by Russian TV or other propaganda machines, and on the contrary, may help us end this war more quickly 4. Last but not least: I STAND WITH UKRAINIAN.Version: 7.9.5

ExcellentHave been using this to take notes and highlight text for uni studies. Very impressed with ability to recognise text and highlight without overlaying on text using the stylus. Very nice looking layout and I like the ability to switch between grid and list layout (I much prefer list layout)..Version: 7.4.4

So easy to useWow fantastic app.Version: 7.1.9

Can’t sinc between devicesWould like to be able to sinc between devices.Version: 7.3.1

Unparalleled Excellence! If you are looking for a PDF editor / file manager and more, you will not find one that equals or surpasses the excellence of this app. I have been using iOS pdf apps for years and I tried PDF Expert when it first hit the App Store. At that time, it was good, but not the best. But I continued to follow the progress of the development team over the years, and about 18 months ago they reached the top of the performance and functionality charts in my estimation. I have a PDF library of around 4,000 volumes, and I use this app exclusively to manage and view those files. (I also recently used it to proofread and mark up a PhD dissertation for a colleague, and the annotation tools couldn’t have been better designed.) And there is more to come as the development team continues to listen to users (and respond to their emails!) and add more functionality. Buy it now before the price goes up to what it is worth!.Version: 6.5.6

Great AppUpdate: this’s still today the best PDF app you’ll find in the market. They update ir continuously and it works flawlessly. I’ve bee a user for a decade now and I’m still impressed at the quality of the app and seriousness of the developers. Now, you can even present with this app if you happen to be a student. I even use it every day in my daily work and have ZERO complaints. They offer a paid subscription and you can also buy it as a one time purchase. I thank them for giving that opportunity to its customers. I’m even willing to pay for some updates if it must be the case since you don’t live for nothing. Thanks, Readle. The last update for 2019 is great in most of its features. I use this app to read and annotate PDFs, there’s no other app out there that can complete with PDF Expert. I use it literally every day. The reason I didn’t give 5 stars is bc I have to keep hitting the highlighting button multiple times if I want to use a different color to highlight something important, which didn’t happen before the update. However, I still recommend this app for everyone who enjoys reading and annotating PDFs. It’s still an excellent App, and I know they will fix this problem. Thanks, Readdle..Version: 7.15.2

My ten cents worth! .......I really like the quality and friendliness of this developers software (I have a few others) and would like to purchase this one. I am a home user, not a business so it is for the convenience, not the productivity that I would like to have this program. So what is holding me back? It is the yearly subscription that makes it a no for me, even for a $150 one off payment I would buy this. As a non-business though, paying a hefty price each and every year is just too much and I think; unreasonable at that!.Version: 7.4.9

Really flexible and powerfulI use this to manage a pretty extensive PDF library. I’d love it if they had a paid tier below the full subscription though — I don’t need the extra subscription features, but I’d like to pay *something*..Version: 7.9

What are you doing???I purchased all your products many years ago and have been extremely happy with them. Now I see if I want to enjoy continued updates and improvements, I have to sign up for a subscription service of approximately $64 a year. Someone had better provide me some answers as to why a longtime member using multiple products is being sucked into paying every year?? The only two benefits of the subscription plan that would be a benefit for me would be the improvements and updates. These so-called favourite options is just gimmicky. Compression of PDF files will not save me enough space to justify the time to do it. So for me the only benefit really is the updates and for that is worth $65 a year??? Are you out of your freaking mind??? I also have a GoodReader and it does everything your program does and I do not have to pay a subscription fee to enjoy it. Could someone please explain to me why I should continue paying $65 a year when I can use the other application I paid for for free??.Version: 7.1.3

Absolutely Fabulous productThis product is amazing when used on the iPad Pro. I run a glazing company and my Sales and Survey team use this program all the time. Taking photos and being able to write over them instantly is just one of the fantastic tools. We draw, we write, we dictate, we type, we annotate, we add colour, we sketch, we share. This product has reduced our paper use immensely. I love it. Long may it continue and improve, if it could get better. I do have one suggestion to move the undo arrow on the left away from the back arrow or maybe add a re-do button because I press the wrong one sometimes..Version: 7.13.0

Forced into it. We’ll worth it.With PDF Converter biting the dust I pondered, after all I am retired. Why do I want all that stuff? That’s still true but the features are all worth it and I don’t mind paying for quality, after all I basically had a free ride with Converter for years. Why not 5? Because I can’t wade through using all the features 😄..Version: 7.17.1

RecommendedI’ve been holding off on recommending this PDF Expert as I was annoyed by its inability to properly access icloud storage. This has now been addressed. I find the package well laid out and easy to use with a short learning time. I particularly like the ability to record and store signatures which allows speedy dealing with large numbers of documents and forms that need filling in. The editing functions are comprehensive and easier to use than other packages that I have used in the past like GoodReader and Notetaker HD. I’ve found that, to be effective, I need to use the app in conjunction with PDF Converter (by the same company) to ensure compatibility of files. It would make sense to me to incorporate the pdf conversion function into PDF Expert rather than making it a two app/two step process..Version: 6.4.1

Fantastic, comprehensive, great PDF powerhouseI use this to read and annotate PDFs from other applications (mostly from DevonTHINK To Go). It’s works really well, smooth reading experience, round trips documents cleanly, great set of annotation tools, full-screen mode, uncluttered interface. I bought the pro editing tools and haven’t had need to use them, but the suite is such a keen price it seemed churlish not to! Also have a great, helpful and personable support team. This is a highly recommended application if you need to work with PDFs; it has an extraordinary range of features and ways to get your documents in (and out!)..Version: 6.6.6

Not what I paid for!Paid the one time fee for the upgrade to Pro only to discover that the latest version doesn’t recognize that I paid to upgrade and now they want an annual subscription. What a rip off. It’s a great app, but their pricing structure sucks!.Version: 7.1.3

Happy customerA long time user, I don’t know what would I do without it as my reliance keeps expending. However what I most satisfied with is their support, over the years they were very responsive and helpful, most recently when I reported an issue with the iOS 15 rollout, it took only a couple of days to roll out an updated fixed version. Than you..Version: 7.7.3

Good appThis was a really helpfull app for me i could edit everything but i dont like paying.Version: 7.6

PDF problems give way to PDF Expert23Mar17 Wonderful, wonderful, product. But after five years of daily use I hate to rate only four stars for PDF expert. But I do. For another two stars (yes, yes, I know five stars is the limit) I want PDF Expert to let me cut/copy and paste ANY (I mean ANY) part of a PDF document. Actually for that feature I'd assess seven stars for PDF Expert..Version: 5.7.7

Great app but could offer some better optionsThis app is nearly perfect but has crashed on my iPad a few times lately during PDF annotations (possibly iOS update compatibility issues) and restarting the app didn’t work requiring an iPad restart. Offering a greater number of colour options like a slide bar or colour wheel rather than just a set number of colour options would also be good. Keep up the good work..Version: 6.3.1

PDF Expert App on IPADAn exam paper was sent via email to my IPAD with spaces for answers to be added. Each time I emailed the completed exam only half the answers appeared, the remaining answers were removed during the email process. Finally I found the app “PDF Expert” and with help from an IT support person my exam was converted to a format that the receiver could read with All my answers in tact. I’m still trying to navigate around this App but the conversion took about 10mins to navigate and send my exam. Whereas the earlier email boomerangs to check if the answers were there had consumed 3hrs of my New Years Eve afternoon. Was so relieved to find this app..Version: 7.4.10

It’s the best I ever came acrossI am amazed how well the app handling a big pdf file. I quite often require to do markup on drawings file that over 100mb and it doesn’t miss a beat so far. The interface is intuitive. The only improvement that I can think of is that I am not able to return to the PDF interface after trying to open a new pdf if I didn’t ended up opening a new pdf..Version: 7.13.0

THIS IS THE BEST. BETTER THAN ADOBEFor years I’ve had nothing but issues with Adobe, Apple Pages, Word Doc. Nothing would ever work under one umbrella. In two simple words absolutely dysfunctional. This App by PDF Expert allows you every kind of access to exit, create and multitask all PDF & word documents easily and add components you cloud not in other software. There is nothing it cannot do. FORGET ADOBE & stop paying monthly fees & get this all in one APP that will change the way you work. Thank you for creating an App that never fails & performs in a way that leading expectations are met by the standards you’ve given in an APP. Most recently there was a corrupted important document - sent it to support. FIXED within a day & returned. In today’s world it is extremely difficult to have a company give such satisfying customer support. Apple, Google, Microsoft, Adobe- ALL FAIL miserably where READDLE succeed. We are very grateful & wish READDLE as a company much continued success. This is why I left Adobe years ago & switched to READDLE. Product & customer support. It’s the backbone of any customer relationship & READLE recognise this at every turn..Version: 7.4.18

Best PDF reader/annotator I've come acrossI use PDFs a lot professionally and I love how PDF Expert organises them and lets me annotate them with just a few taps. Even large documents with hundreds of pages load fast on my iPad and I've never come across a file that it couldn't handle. Also, being able to connect to several cloud services like Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and (of course) iCloud helps to synchronise files across devices a lot..Version: 5.0.5

If only I can split the view within the appThe product is wonderful. It is very easy to manage files, all nice selections of turning pages(vertical/horizontal), writing notes; it is a great app to read papers and books for students. If there is any bit of part that is lacking, then i would like to say the split view. Of course with this app, you can multi-task. However if i want to read two books at the same time, especially when one is for reference, I have to export one of the books to another pdf reading app and multi-task these two apps to have two books in my sight simultaneously. This is a bit of a hassle. As a owner of a 12.9” ipad - with a large screen, in-app split view would be a great option. Anyways, other than this small issue, everything is perfect..Version: 6.4.1

Good, mostly.Pretty good pdf editor overall, but some issues. Big one for me - for date fields it only allows their custom date-picker keyboard UI, but the output doesn’t seem to be compatible with that space in the pdf I’m trying to fill, and it doesn’t let you over-ride the date-picker keyboard for a standard keyboard....incredibly frustrating, please fix! Furthermore, it seems there’s an issue in both this app and documents app while editing a pdf field that if it says ‘only enter spaces, letters, etc’, and the modal dialog for this pops up, you can’t then dismiss it without force quitting the app. Incredibly annoying and frustrating. Also, the file structure of the various readdle apps with relation to your device and iCloud is frustrating, not very convenient to use them together even bough I’ve paid for every single in app purchase and every one of their apps..Version: 6.6.15

Fabulous on iPadThis app works great on iPads. I can use my apple pencil to scroll and highlight text, I can copy and paste my highlights into a note program, and it syncs my files in the cloud beautifully.I wish that images would not invert in night mode and that we would get some colour options beside sepia, black and white. love the tabs, bookmarks and non-neon highlight colours. PDF expert is not so great on iPhone as the lack of liquid mode makes reading PDF'S impossible. But paying £50 For just this feature is crazy, so I don't use the iPhone version. I tried the mac version but it seems a completely different program, where y could not I even use the toolbars without paying for a full version so I will stick to the great iPad version and hope that one day, they will have a full syncing app that works on all devices..Version: 7.7.3

A great PDF reader / editorI only need to work with PDFs occasionally and PDF Expert has been a boon whenever needed. Some intelligent features like smart awareness of what you want to redact just by drawing a rectangle close to the data intended. The upgrade to Pro Basic was well worth it for me - hope Readdle continue to offer such incremental upgrades as well as subscription as I don’t use enough to warrant a sub. But happy to pay a bit more now and again as needed..Version: 7.5.1

Best in market with room for improvementOverall very good with most comprehensive features that support my requirements for work and University. The developers are clearly top notch. The biggest pitfall for me is the cloud connection and inconsistency when editing and saving documents and specifically new notes into Google drive. Sometimes it won’t save any work and everything is lost. Doesn’t happen often but when it does it can be discouraging..Version: 7.10.2

Useless. Cannot recognise fonts to editI bought Pro but could not edit any PDFs. When I try to edit a text, letters are typed in different fonts which have nothing to do with the font of the text I am editing. Changing the font of the text does not work. I wasted lots of time trying to figure it out. Just looks like a hopeless glitch which is also different in different documents. What a frustrating experience and a total waste of money!.Version: 7.4.18
