Good but can be betterPlease add these feature: 1. OCR text within images into searchable/editable text 2. Crop pdf page 3. Print multiple pages into one 4. Improve the outline tab by adding “Add” button without having to tab edit first (even though it’s just one more tab) and i’d love to be able to automatically add highlighted text as an outline name when i tab add button and if i didn’t highlight any text just leave the “outline item” as blank so i can quickly create the outline name so that i don’t have to manually delete “outline item”. I don’t think anyone would set it as “outline item” anyway.Version: 7.4.3

Why charging againI purchased Pdf Expert few years ago and now for signature and some more options which were included charges me. Why should I pay again?!!!!.Version: 7.2.12

Apple Pencil Latency and Subscription PriceHey there, Please could you update the Apple Pencil latency to what iOS 13 supports? It is much less laggy on Apple’s notes app when writing notes and drawing on iPad Pro compared to PDF expert. Also, the subscription price is much too high for what it’s worth. Really want to get it but price is way too much. Thanks to whoever reads this..Version: 7.2.12

Freezes all the time! This app used to be good, but now the app freezes all the time. This constant stuttering makes the experience unproductive and is not recommended any more. I am forced to use other PDF apps and they work pretty well, smooth and without hiccups. PDF Expert team needs to work on this..Version: 7.4.2

File duplicates itselfHi there, files start to duplicate themselves as soon as I close the files (with added notes and annotations). Also, how to not show the other file types in pdf expert such as word and Powerpoint?.Version: 6.6.13

Always crashes and a con! This used to be a great app but now I have two major issues: 1) I purchased this in 2018 for £10 and had access to all features and now they've added a subscription service and removed the features that I had already paid for. Now to access these features I have to pay again?! Such a con. 2) The app now wont even open and crashes immediately...I can no longer access any of my files/work. (The app is up to date as is my ipad) I have essentially been robbed of £10, try a different app and steer clear of this one..Version: 7.2.10

Latest update has reduced usabilityI’m not sure what the feedback has been to change the search capability to the ‘advanced’ search functions, but it has reduced the usability of pdf expert. Prior to this update a search would highlight everything in a salmon colour and auto close the search panel to leave you with the full screen to review your document. If you wanted to navigate to a specific search result you could open the panel and scroll to it. Now the panel stays open taking up screen estate (I cant find a way to close it without losing the search too) and the search results highlight is now a pale yellow which is really hard to scan and see on a white background. Can you at least make a switch to choose the panel behaviour and allow result colour choice. It would also be good to fix the highlighting tool which likes to highlight more than one row of text at a time if the text is in a table. I am currently using a rather old version of readdle documents that I refuse to update as the pdf engine worked well in that version. Thanks.Version: 7.1.3

Performance dipI am giving the three-star rating based on past experience as well as present. If I were only rating this on the last few months, it would be a 1-star review. This has been one of the most indispensable apps for me, as a teacher who uses an iPad pro to teach from. The efficiency with which I was able to store, organize, and edit documents was beyond comparison. Lately, however, there have been major slow-down issues and often I find myself staring at all of my documents stored on the cloud, unable to download them. I have wasted 30-plus minutes trying in futility to pull up a file I needed on the cloud without success. Incredibly frustrating. More recently, even trying to transfer a file from an app like notability to this one has caused PDF expert to just close without actually receiving the file. I hope they fix these issues because it would be a pain to find a new app to use..Version: 6.6.3

Rip offI had purchased this App for my 2016 iPad Pro. Works great. Now I got a larger 2019 iPad Pro and they want you to move strictly to a subscription model ?! Give me a break! I just want to use what I previously paid for!!!!.Version: 7.1.9

2 year experience with the free versionI have been using PDF expert over 2 years now on a iPadPro. In general it has been a reasonable application to use and works well with the iPencil. Some flaws though: - More recently , and very frustratingly, the app freezes and crashes several times a day resulting in loss of work on the document. - Also, the random (hundreds) corrupted document duplications are created. - The search function is and always has been very slow taking up to several minutes and occasionally cannot find the desired files at all (even though they are there). - When bookmarking a pages, these are arranged in the order of making not in the order of pages and it is not possible to filter out only bookmarked pages (as in iBooks for example) or some how organize these better. This makes it a relatively useless function for textbooks where you might have 20-30 pages..Version: 7.6

Regularly Crashes.Plan to redo your work. Have used for the last week to annotate and has crashed every day, multiple times a day. Work is lost each time. For an app of this cost, expectations are much, much higher..Version: 6.6.15

Re-paying for features we already purchased onceWhen I originally purchased this app before the newest updates (downgrades, for those of us who originally paid money for the app, which suddenly lost all capability, unless we were willing to fork over an additional $50!) I would have said it was a great app. I work as a paralegal, and this app used to be awesome for on-the-go creating/editing of all the court documents we work with which must be submitted as pdfs. I especially used to love the signature feature, as it meant I sometimes no longer even had to travel in order to get client signatures for continuance forms. I was so disappointed to discover, as of a couple days ago, that my paid for, super awesome app no longer provided me access to any of the useful features I had come to love. Apparently if I wanted to continue using the app as I had for the past year, I was now expected to pay an additional $50. I’ve never had a company pull such a bait and switch, and I’m incredibly disappointed at how transparent a money grab this ploy is. Shame on you guys, this app used to be a great product and a fair price, but I’m not going to keep repaying for things that I, the consumer, was lead to believe would be a one time purchase to unlock price. Bummed!.Version: 7.2.1

DisappointedI bought the version 6 of this app and was disappointed when they automatically updated it without my consent to version which took away a ton of functionality. In order to regain the previous features which I had bought, they expect me to pay a monthly fee. This is a cash grab if I’ve ever seen one. I had previously bought their entire suite of apps because I was impressed with Readdle’s quality however now their integrity leaves much to be desired..Version: 7.2.1

Total scam app. This app was great when it came out originally. Then all of a sudden I need a new iPad and I can’t download the old app from the cloud. I have to buy it. Then I need a new phone, and I can’t download from the cloud, and o have to buy it for a different device. Then all of a sudden in order to reduc a file size I need a $65.99 yearly subscription? Are you kidding me? So a get the trial and it won’t even reduce file size. What a pile of steaming garbage. Get it together!!!.Version: 7.2.11

App keeps crashingI purchased this app a few months back and all I have had is problems. I have contacted the support 4 or more times to help problem solve. At no point could they help me. All suggestions from them I did and the app continues to crash midway working on a document or immediately after opening the app. I am continually told they will escalate the issue to their engineers or tech team, to which I get no resolve or response. This app is not worth the money they charge. Also support is only offer via email, which is not best practice. Avoid this app at all costs!.Version: 7.7.6

Recently stopped workingI’ve used this app for a few years now and thought it was excellent. But i haven’t been able to use it at all over the last couple days as it opens and then shuts down immediately. I’ve restarted my iPad and updated it, but to no avail. I ended up deleting the app and reinstalled it and lost all my files and annotations, which is really annoying. The troubleshooting advice is far too complicated for, when it asks to send log data. Although I still like the app’s functionality it feels unreliable now. I subscribed to the trial for the pro edition but can’t see any difference to what I already have..Version: 7.2.4

More expensive than 365More expensive than 365.Version: 7.13.1

Buy another one. Rip offI cannot concert to pdf ( you need to pay CAD 10) and you cannot edit text ( you need an extra CAD14). Why did I pay then. On store it says it does all of that. Download Adobe Acrobat for iOS , it does everything for free. I want my money back and now. Thieves..Version: 6.6.16

Rip offI bought the “expert” version and now have to pay a subscription to do what was possible earlier? Talk about bait and switch!.Version: 7.2.7

Bookmarks not supportedPDF Expert is great. Generally. But I use page bookmarking extensively in other apps. If you then move the doc to PDF Expert, then those page bookmarks are lost. And if you create a page bookmark in PDF Expert, then it will not show in other apps. Tested with Preview, PDF Viewer and Acrobat. So you really have to commit to the PDF Expert workflow and stick with it. I do my bookmarking in Apple Books and then export. Preview (for quick look) and PDF Viewer respect those bookmarks. PDF Expert does not. This is important to me, hence 2 stars. It would be 5 stars, otherwise. Please support standard bookmarks..Version: 7.12.4

Long time userIf you read the reviews you will notice that a few years back this was up there with the best, there is no doubt that the app now is next to useless with the expensive upgrade. You will also notice that many people feel understandably disenfranchised by the developers blatant attempt to extract as much money as possible. I have been using PDF expert for many years and seen the all the developments along the way, this initiative must be a huge own goal. Although I have retained full functionality I have encouraged all of my colleagues to use it until I realised the recent versions have locked most of the most useful functions that were included in previous versions into the subscription only update. Such a shame but there are much better value for money options available now, I’d avoid based on these tactics of leveraging expensive subscriptions..Version: 7.4.5

Mostly good, but should include SMB3 support by nowSMB3 has been finalised in Windows since 2012 with Windows 8. With recent vulnerabilities found in SMB1, I wish to make my Samba server as secure as protocol by only supporting SMB3, the most recent version of the SMB protocol. However, PDFExpert only supports SMB2 (SMB2_10 to be precise), and so I have to make my whole Samba server less secure by continuing to support older protocols just for this one app of mine that still does not support SMB3. Please fix this. Otherwise, this is a great app for both pdf more general file access on a local NAS. With SMB3, would be perfect for me.Version: 6.6.2

I bought it, then they change it, need buy again = no wayI bought the version i was needing at one time they sold me one working very fine. Now they changed it no more access in the documents, they ask me to buy the pro version.......for how long ? So its a fool i m not happy, no more......PDF Expert.Version: 6.6.16

Limited integration with files appI love the markup tools on PDF Expert, they feel much more fluid and responsive than many other PDF annotation apps, but the lack of full integration with the files app is a big issue for me. When you edit a PDF you aren’t able to save it to a location in the files app (and therefore to linked servers or cloud storage), only to the local app’s storage. You then need to use the share sheet and save to files as a workaround which adds unnecessary and time consuming steps to the workflow..Version: 7.11.0

Converted to a Subscription service after I Paid $80 and used twiceEdit: so just to be clear… According to the developer the app for the Mac did not change to subscription? That was a one time purchase that remained? The iPad only version is a subscription? If so that explains it but honestly I find it ridiculous that I have to pay three times to get the app across all three of my platforms. I would even pay a one time fee but not doing the subscription. Adobe acrobat pro is a monthly fee and you get it across all the different devices. Why would I pay $80 for the Mac version and then monthly subscription for the iPad version and then he knows what you’re demanding for the iPhone version. Just like the title says. I paid $80 for this app which is already quite a lot of money and how do use that maybe twice. Every now and then I need to merge or split PDF documents. Very light works. I was told this is the best app. I came back to it to do some PDF editing and it’s telling me I need to pay $50 a year. I already did a one time purchase of $80. Completely dishonest and unfair business practices. At least grandfather and the people that already purchased the app for a one time price or credit them the $80 they spent towards a subscription. Now you’re expecting you to pay 50 bucks a year? So I paid $80 to use the app twice?.Version: 7.7.1

Long-time user, less impressed now than when I bought itI bought this app when it was a one-time purchase. Since then I can think of at least one feature that’s been removed altogether and some features have been switched to in-app purchase. The latest update has altered the annotation tools significantly enough that I’ve had a look at the competition and am considering making a switch. Please, rather than update an existing app with changes that alter peoples workflow, just release a new version. I’d appreciate the option to remain with the app I paid for and was familiar with..Version: 7.1.6

Deceptive and greedy pricingThe title says “fast and beautiful pdf editor”. It should say “pdf viewer and annotator ... with editing option available as in-app purchase”. I bought the app at $13.99 and now it has disabled editing and wants me to buy it again via in-app purchase. Readdle apps are good but this experience is very disappointing. update: now they switched to subscription and it’s even worse. $65/yr might be worth it for someone who uses it frequently, but for someone who just needs to edit a word or two in a pdf every few weeks, it’s nuts! Readdle you are dumping users with this excessive price barrier. why not have a price tier for low volume use?.Version: 7.2.8

Unfit for useI am an experienced IOS user and need a good app to manage pdf forms created in Adobe but the fields in the form were not visible in this app. The app is therefore useless to me. I tried using their early release functionality with the same result. I asked for support server all times and send my form to the support forum without any results. I would therefore not recommend this app if you rely on it to work consistently in a buisness environment..Version: 5.3.0

Not reliableWhen it works, it does a good job. The problem is that it doesn’t save annotations to the file. When I come later and open the file again, it downloads the version from the cloud again. Which is the version before all my work done in the last session. In the past it saved all changes periodically or when I switched to another file. For some reason the developers changed it to the new behaviour where I have to save the document in a cumbersome way to make sure that my changes are kept. If I forget to do that, everything is gone..Version: 7.8.3

Misleading updateWhile this has always been the best pdf app for school textbooks, the new update has ruined what set it apart from competitors in terms of workflow. It used to have all the tools in one toolbar with four customizable pens/highlighters so you could quickly switch between different colors and pens. Now the most useful tools are scattered between different toolbars and there is only one pen and one highlighter in the toolbar. And instead of using a long-press to customize your tools like in the previous versions, you must now tap extra times to open an expandable toolbar, thereby adding a step to the process. This is a serious step back as it negates the strengths of a tablet and diminishes efficiency. It seems like a confused philosophy that prioritizes aesthetics over functionality. And now if you want the same toolbar that was in the previous version, you will have to pay for the “pro features” in order to access the customizable “favorites” toolbar. So while the update description states that it only adds to functionality of the previous version and doesn’t take away anything, this is simply untrue (in my case, at any rate)..Version: 7.1.5

FailLost functionality after forced update. Terrible treatment of long time customers. Please rethink your strategy. Of course, if you are immovable from this new position, your existing customers will go away and new customers will buy into your new model of sales. Thank you for the functionality while it lasted..Version: 7.2.7

GoodNotes is way betterToo expensive for the options that are given. Lags all the time. Not great and not fluid. I’m running back to GoodNotes..Version: 7.2.0

Owner Greed Changes to Paid Subscription.Typical. Get really popular. Create dependence in customers. Then drop the subscription model! Greed won over loyalty. Then justify with “let’s us build new features”. Common excuse. Your yearly fee is more then Entire Microsoft Office 365. No longer recommended. PREVIOUS REVIEW FOR V6: Read thousands of pages through PDF Expert. Made thousands of lines of annotations, highlights, and Apple Pencil diagrams throughout the pages. Also use PDF expert every day in class to present the material on Projector (via Screen Mirroring) to class. We downloaded every popular PDF editor/reader in store through the years. Including new GoodReader 5. Without question, PDF Expert is light years ahead no matter how many copy-cats arrive in hopes to grab share of profits. PDF Expert makes sense in every way for the brain, and makes learning a joy from PDF texts..Version: 7.1.10

How is this legal in any way?Recently purchased the app and then updated. Now, I’m getting constant reminders and notifications to purchase their pro subscription for $50 a year!? Either just use their free app or use another of the literally hundred other free apps in the App Store. Do not give these crooks a dime of your money cause they’ll just end up taking it and asking for more....Version: 7.1.5

Don’t Buy!!Pop up$9.99 upgrade fee to “Pro” every time you press the “edit” button. What this app offers for the $13.99 base edition you can find for free elsewhere..Version: 6.6.7

Don’t Update to Version 7!If you have version 6 beware, the version 7 upgrades are minimal but what you lose in simplicity for your daily annotations and edits is significant: Annotations: In version 7, you lose most of your color presets for highlights/underlines/drawing (you only get to keep 5 color presets in version 7, while in version 6 you had about 15 color presets). In version 7 you’ll have to open a color wheel button to manually select a color every time you want to use something other than those 5 colors (this takes 3-4 clicks every time you want a new color, which quickly becomes frustrating if you use the app for what it was designed for: significant PDF annotating). Or, you can pay $45 per year if you want to “favorite” certain tools for quicker access in version 7. Edits: In version 6, you could buy PDF editing for a one-time $10 fee, but in version 7 you will have to shell out $45 recurring per year to get PDF editing (unless you were smart enough to buy it in version 6, in which case it comes with you to version 7). It’s not all bad, version 7 makes it a bit easier to use the search and bookmark/outline features. However, I have found the “outline” feature to be a bit buggy in version 7 when adding new chapters to the overall outline. It seems to insert them in strange spots, rather than keeping the outline automatically organized by page number as version 6 did..Version: 7.1.6

ScamI purchased this before, and now I need to pay again for the same features?!.Version: 7.1.5

It’s wonderful! (If you’re only using iOS)It’s an amazing app! Don’t get me wrong! I love this pdf editor, I use it all the time and the features mixed with the layout makes it incredible. The biggest issue/grievance is that I’ve been waiting to see if it would ever make a way for me to use this on windows. The one huge feature this app has over adobe is the ability for me to let my OCD organize all my files and do dats. But at the end of the day, My computer is where I go to do all my work, so I need an pdf editor on my computer too. Hence adobe’s accessibility outmatches; and in the end of the day when it comes to subscriptions, I only want to pay for one of them. After 3 years of waiting, I’m giving up on it. If you’re an iOS die hard fan, this company is for you. But if you’re diversified at all, don’t get the subscription. Just get adobe and I promise you it’ll save you money..Version: 7.19.0

Slow Lately!Great for students who want to manage textbooks and many documents. Works well with the Mac app too. Great support and rarely any bugs UPDATE: Lately it’s just been slow, buggy, and crashes occasionally. Don’t know what happened, but I now start to detest using the app. Would just use Files app if I could but this app has just a bit better markup and viewing.Version: 6.6.2

The auto-save is a FAILI lost 2 assignments after working an hour on one document and 2 hours on another. When attempting to save the document to PDF format after editing the document (400 word answers to 15 questions), all of the text I had written vanished as soon as I hit “save”.. with the exception of the first line that I wrote in each question. UNDO did nothing, none of my information was recovered. I purchased the Pro subscription; for this I would have expected a decent product at $16 per month considering my accounting app is half this. It’s not worth it. This is an unreliable app for anything serious; study or business. If you need it as a quick read PDF app or a PDF converter alone; there’s your 1 Star each. Not worth the subscription; the tech support asked me to recreate the situation and record it (I don’t have another 3 hours to waste, thanks).Version: 7.2.12

Some pages were not openedIt shows a small downward arrow, how can I solve it?.Version: 7.3.4

Another app starts subscription-scamming. Too bad.Don't waste your money. The old bait and switch. Looking for alternatives now. They start with pay for the app... And then suddenly... Subscribe!! No thanks..Version: 7.1.5

Works well for the limited number of things I do with pdfs.Don’t do much editing. Do lots of annotating and Pdf Expert is solid with enough options to make it adaptable to most every document. I suspect if I did I might find PDF Expert app a pretty good note-taking tool. What I really enjoy is the overall reading and annotating experience. The Readdle file management is probably my favorite so far as well (meaning I like it better than Adobe Reader if your looking for comparisons). The Readdle apps seem to do a good job (better than others at least) of having options available in the “Share” menu(s)... Okay, been using PDF Expert non-$80/year subscription extortion mode for a few years now. Here is a fact: the search function within the app file/folder system has not worked for years. So you can't search even the document titles within a single folder. All you every see is a blank white screen with a rotating circle of spokes. I've adapted and rely on careful naming of folders. The search within a single open pdf doc is fine. Anyway, this sort of $80/yr for a pdf editor/reader nonsense/greed is going to kill this golden goose ... the sooner the better..Version: 7.10.2

Horrible Rip Off $13.99 Did Not UnlockJust be advised you might end up one of a select few that purchase the app for $13.99 and then it no longer unlocks the pro features and it will not restore/ remember your purchase so you end up paying for absolutely nothing. Apple states it is the developers responsibility and the developer does not respond (rather conveniently) you end up in an App Store loophole while everyone benefits but you. Very disappointed in both the app purchase result and Apple..Version: 6.6.2

Readdle has crossed the fine line between practicality and greed. For anyone who did not get the in app purchase from PDF Expert 6, this app is completely out of line in how much they charge, $79 per year! And what do you get for $79 each year? -The ability to select and use more than one pencil type, which is a basic feature in almost any annotating app. If you wish to select between two pen colours, it is 2 or more clicks away. -File conversion to PDF - Basic stuff here, but $79? -PDF size reduction - only unique offering? -Editing PDF text - was previously a one off $15 purchase but very costly now it is in subscription mode. I like how they are making changes and updates to the app, just this cost model is the way to see their business collapse. Having paid $15 I can’t believe I only get to choose one pen option at any time. Ridiculous, and that’s why it only gets 1 star despite me thinking it would be 3.5 or 4 prior to this update..Version: 7.1.5

POS! Was the best, paid for pro now subscription onlyThis app is a story of GREED. A very good and stable application that did exactly what it said. I paid for the upgrade to Pro and was happy. Then GREED took over...a forced update with all new rules...it’s time to pay & pay & pay boys & girls.... just give me back what I had and leave me alone. I don’t want your forced new features, I just want what I had! You know, before you thought it was a great idea to RIPOFF your customers! I’d rather NEVER use your app than pay subscription fees. But I paid for pro now I’m left with nag screens and warnings about a subscription requirements. Should be renamed “but Adobe does it PDF” because it’s no longer a “real” app, just a money grabbing mining app. These are all just my personal opinions! (You might love spending $$$ every month for an app you might use once a month on average) find a paid version from someone else save yourself a ton of money!.Version: 7.2.5

Must not have the appThis app constantly crashes while you are working. Although This app has some good features, crashing and freezing while you are working are really annoying..Version: 6.6.13

After updates…It lost its lustre. Performance lowered.Version: 7.9.9

Cannot connect OneDrive! And flash and quit automaticallyI have been using this for a long time but recently it cannot open my OneDrive files and always saying I have no internet connect even it was actually all fine. I reinstalled the app and as soon as I reconnected my OneDrive account it started flashing out! Every time when I opened, it just quit!!! Please fix this! I have no idea what happened.Version: 7.9.6

Lost Files and Poor Pencil Support in an App I Used to LoveI used to love this app—and have for years, but lately I’ve been let down by it again and again. First and foremost, I had half of my files in the iCloud folder disappear on me. I couldn’t find them anywhere—then discovered that on a random Sunday when I never interacted with my device they were deleted. Luckily, I found them within the iCloud recovery window and could restore these files. THEN - I started using my Apple Pencil and have been driven mad by the awful palm rejection, slow response times, and marks that just don’t appear. It’s hard to write a single sentence on a PDF without missing a letter or a line. None of these problems are evident in the Apple Notes App—where the Pencil works perfectly. I’m going to look for another App for notation but I’m just disappointed that PDF Expert has let me down so much..Version: 7.9.11

GreedI paid for this app and now to be able to use all the features I have to pay again! What a rip off, pure evil and greed!.Version: 7.17.2

The subscription price is ridiculousSorry, but Readdle have made a meal of their pricing. PDF Expert is a good app, but nothing in the pro subscription is worth $85 a year (yep, that is the price here). To put it in perspective, my Settap subscription costs me less, and I get 120+ Mac apps for that. It's also more than I can get an Adobe Creative Suite sub for via school, now that is madness. I suspect this is what happens when you offer free apps for so long you have to start recouping costs. PDF viewer is a third of that price, and it integrates with the IOS native APIs a lot better. Time to switch. Expect the usual lip service about a freemium app etc, it doesn't change the fact that this app is yet another example of developers renting out their software. If you take the upgrade cycle, and the previous cost of an outright purchase you are looking at something like an 800% increase. And that's generous napkin math. Readdle make good software, but not this good..Version: 7.1.3

I like PDF not perfect thoSo I used to use PDF every single day (back in lockdown), and I thought it was really helpful but now I’m not feeling like its completely perfect because I want like more kinds of layouts. So when you add a new PDF, you choose a layout but I’d want more kinds. I still find PDF really useful but its just not perfect (theres always room for perfection). PDF is a good app but I want a few more additions to it. If you are reading this have a good day ^^.Version: 7.9

Transitioning to a subscriptionPDF Expert and its partner app Documents, have been workflow-critical apps on my iPad, iPhone and Mac desktop for many years. I have been an appreciative user and enthusiastic advocate of these apps and in the past, have very willingly paid the purchase price for this excellent app. But the new subscription model positions it far beyond anything that is cost effective to the average user. Like me, you too, may now wish to explore alternative workflows. Readdle, I can only hope you are listening..Version: 7.1.5

The update is horribleThe older version was so much better. The highlighter and underlining functions are too thick and cover the texte. Very disappointed with the update. I used to love working with PDF expert and now I am looking for an alternative..Version: 7.2.5

Subscription model kills occasional userI paid a one off fee for PDF Expert on Mac which is ideal for my usage (occasional need for ‘power’ editing). However this companion app uses a subscription model and doesn’t care that I have bought the app on Mac. Unfortunately this means even basic functions like rearranging pages are off limits unless I pay 5/month, which isn’t worth it for my occasional use. It’s a shame because the UI is very friendly..Version: 7.7.3

Free App selling for 13.99I though I am buying a full App for 13.99. Turns out you are buying a basic app, and you have to buy other features for more money. I did not expect this kind of CON from this company. I don’t mind buying for 13.99 if it has value of it. Zero dollar value in this app..Version: 6.6.16

DisappointedI've been using this app for at least 8 years on iPad and a few years ago on my Mac, and have been very pleased with it. I’ve recommended it to many people over the years including my work. Most updates are ok, and I've had to pay to upgrade twice. However removing key features such as PDF conversion and then being asked to upgrade to a more expensive subscription is outrageous! I don't want to support a company that is no longer consistent with reliable product performance and support. Sadly after all these years I've started looking elsewhere..Version: 7.2.0

Hate it!Used to be so fantastic. Bought it for my iMacs and iPad. Then one day an update kicked in and all sorts of bother ever since. Sign in problems. One day you are using it with expert/premium or whatever it was I paid for… next day all the sign in stuff? Email verifications? Can’t find passwords etc. licence codes. Shame we can’t swear here, because really I’d like them to “go away” and leave me alone to just use the product I bought. Companies just kill their products by trying to squeeze their previously happy customers for just a little more cash. Such a shame. I dare say an apologetic “please contact customer support” response will come, but it too late. We have busy lives, they already did it knowing they would upset customers, but feeling it was worth it for the extra cash. So no, I won’t be contacting customer support. I will simply be downvoting. Gosh what a rant!.Version: 7.16.2

Company Removes Edit Feature from Purchased VersionI purchased PDF Expert some time ago so that I could edit PDF documents. I have just attempted to edit a PDF only to be treated with a ‘Try the trial version of Pro’ to edit PDFs. Excuse me?! I did purchase PDF expert that was able to edit the PDF. Why should I pay you to unlock a feature that I have already paid for? I followed your suggestion in another reply the stated to ‘select restore purchases’ only to be told no previous version purchased. How about instead of me paying you to GIVE BACK something I have already paid for, you PAY ME BACK for removing the function you removed. That, or allow me to revert to the previous version where I can edit PDFs again. You have essentially stole $ by removing a feature I, and other users paid for. What’s your solution!!!.Version: 7.4.12

Lost what I paid forI purchased this product when around the time it was first released. At the time I purchased it, I had the ability to edit my documents. I no longer do. I contacted readdle cx support and was advised the version I purchased doesn’t include the edit function. Well, it did before they introduced a premium version of the app and went subscription based. Absolutely dishonest and I would highly recommend never purchasing/dealing with them..Version: 7.16.3

Sharing through Facebook messengerDear PDF expert, I was able to share PDFs via messenger no problem but now I am unable to, could you please troubleshoot this problem..Version: 7.2.5

Annoying link box borderI used to love using PDF Expert until recent update since when it started to show borders of links of the pdfs! This is quite annoying because thick black border is eye-catching and focuses on something thats very trivial. Apparently there’s no option to hide this. And one thing I don’t quite get is this link box border only appears in PDF Expert. I have used this app for more than 5 years. If this doesn’t get fixed I don’t think I will continue using this app..Version: 7.9

I have paid alreadyACTUAL APP DESCRIPTION : “Readdle may at any time for any reason and without any warnings take away what you've bought and ask you to rend it :) Why? Well Readdle just doesn’t respect its costumers and can’t be trusted!” I purchased this app for school a while ago, and it worked perfectly fine and smooth for all my needs, 5/5 stars for sure. But now its asking me to pay *again* to use some of the features I have already bought? Imagine if you bought a dresser and after a year the company just came back took away the drawers and told you to pay 13.99 a month to use them??? This is not fair, and I can’t believe you're legally allowed to do this. Apps like these with hidden paid subscriptions don’t trick people into buying more, it just makes us lose our time and look for other options. Honestly I dont mind buying/subscribing to apps, but you can be sure I won’t give a cent to devs like this. How can I be sure that next month there wont be a new update saying I can only save documents if I have a new more expensive subscription? Hey, at least the flow of negative reviews will serve to warn anyone who’s considering buying pdf expert..Version: 7.2.10

Need Help!I buy the app few months ago, and I could edict my PDF by the app until I updated it yesterday, because I found my note was lost(yes, my note wire by apple pencil loss, I think it may since I need to update, so I did). But now, it doesn’t work, I mean My lost note still lost, and even worse that I cannot edit my PDF on the app, unless I buy the edition function???????? Please solve the problem, thanks..Version: 6.5

Love the app; hate the scroll barThis app would be perfect if we could disable the scroll bar. It gets in the way when reading and very, very often touched by mistake taking me to a random page. Please add this functionality! Update for the developer: To have an idea how this happens, just try holding the iPad and read through a document. I’m sure that sooner or later you’ll accidentally hit the scroll button and that will take you to some random page. You’ll then have to find the section of text where you were before hitting that button..Version: 7.9.8

Downloaded it to annotate a PDF.I wanted to annotate a PDF. Downloaded the app. Was either forced to enter a 69$ agreement or not be able to get the emfesture I was promised in the App Store. If the app is free. And it says it does something. You can get people to download it and for them to get into a contract for 69$ with you to use the promised feature. Companies and apps like yours are substandard..Version: 7.9.11

Way way too expensive; not faithful to loyal customersHaving already paid a fair amount for the app, I find it extortionate to have to now pay a ridiculous subscription fee for similar functionality to what I had before. I had four pen presets in v6 of the app. Now in v7, there is only one pen preset. One has to pay $65/yr to get access to a favourites bar to achieve the original functionality. Looking for an alternative. (Market opportunity for other developers ;)).Version: 7.1.8

Complete ripoff after updatePaid full price for the app before knowing that it was a powerful tool. Now they’ve “upgraded” to a subscription model so all the stuff I paid full price for gets ripped out behind the paywall. I’m not happy and I hope everyone this effects voices their opinion..Version: 7.1.7

UselessI used to like this app bought the bundle etc for my iPad, recently bought me a Mac tried to get readdle on it but apparently I have to purchase it again at $140 nzd it ain’t worth it.Version: 7.4.21

Latest update has some bugs with saving to Files and cloudUse PDF expert all the time on iPhone and iPad. Find it a very powerful editor, especially with page level edits and editing to all aspects of existing PDFs. I also use a bunch of other Readdle apps, big fan of their apps in general. That said the recent updates haven’t improved things. App is now not saving to my Files app, or to Cloud based storage for some reason. Also the Export function now asks me to subscribe to PDF Pro for $78 a year, very annoying to receive ads in a paid version of the app. Exporting to PDF should be part of the core functionality of the app anyway, and is a task that can be performed natively by all Apple products so is a bit of a waste of time trying to charge for it..Version: 7.9.5

Could be great but sometimes so frustratingClearly a well supported and popular app but some fundamental aspects are so frustrating and lead to my 3 star rating. We have the companion printer pro app by Readdle to cover printer needs when out and about but at home and in the office we have a printer with AirPrint. When you have it, AirPrint is quicker and better, but can you use it with pdf expert? No, you are locked into a loop of handing off to another app that you didn’t want or ask to use. Printing is a pretty fundamental aspect and being reasonably tech literate I have given investigating and fixing this default as much time as I am willing to waste. So, in this round of the pdf app wars the prize goes to goodreader and their latest update. I shall shift back to them and see if readdle can up their game by doing the basics brilliantly..Version: 6.6.12

CrashesCrashes when switching apps. Using iPad Pro 2021.Version: 7.9

Rip offPurchased the app and it worked great. Got a new phone and now it won’t let me do anything unless I pay a subscription. My review is a drop in the bucket, you can see all the other but eff these guys. Don’t buy/don’t subscribe. Edit: I have reached out and so far it’s been 5 days of you asking for receipts and asking me to describe the features I’ve lost(all of them). Email replies are slow and it doesn’t seem to be a priority on your guys end. Clearly you guys are aware of what you are doing with the update and asking me to subscribe to receive features I had previously paid for. Got to squeeze every last cent out of people!.Version: 7.16.4

Disgusting subscription service after 100 spentHow dare you try charging me and others for a subscription service after I’ve bought your Mac version for 75 pounds, iPad version for 20 odd pounds and the iPhone version for another 8/9 pounds. Now you’re wanting to charge another 45 going to 75 a year for a subscription service? I’m in literal shock at your insane greed and total lack of respect for your loyal customers. At least Adobe don’t try and hide the fact they are immoral vultures and at least their pdf pc version is fully comprehensive. You can’t even add form creator or add more features to the max version than the iPad version even as you charge way more for an inferior product. How about you stop grandstanding over Ukraine and other neo political virtue signalling nonsense and start looking after your users. Absolutely disgraceful greed, one you should hang your heads in shame for. I refuse point blank to pay for a subscription model for services that I’ve already paid an extortionate amount for. Fix now or myself and many more will be gone..Version: 7.10.1

Con!!!!I purchased PDF Editor a while ago and a was able to redact text and edit text. But now the pro version is out I need to purchase these features again!!!! Rip off.Version: 6.6.3

With a little more it could be a LOT betterApart from crashing several times in the past 24 hours since I bought this, I really don’t think this app is adequate for a professional file-system for reading, annotating, and filing PDF files and books. It is, overall, difficult to locate files to begin with, hard to move an original copy without making a second “copy”, and extremely limited in the options it gives you for storing, moving, and accessing files generally. Right now I’m writing this review because I can’t even open my app to get back into it! With something this unreliable I fail to see how it could be considered a professional working tool. Really not impressed by this over-hyped app..Version: 6.5

Great, but has FlawsThis a great app for just organising all you files in one place and even taking & editing your note/PDF’s. Unfortunately, this has always been quite buggy on my iPhone 7 & 1st Gen iPad Pro 12.9”. It would freeze & shut down every now and then. Really frustrating when you’re trying to use this for fundamental uses like notes or keeping files. Would not recommend at this point. But has huge potential if these issues are dealt with as they are greatly hindering productivity for the past year or so..Version: 7.1.3

Locked upHi there It’s now very easy to put files into PDF expert and sign them BUT then the document just seems to lock up and I can’t get the horizontal dots to show up with the save a copy email a copy options. I tap away gently for some minutes on my ipad. This morning I got so frustrated with the programme I went and made a coffee and then came back to try again. Still nothing but after about 20 taps the top options came up and I could save a flattened version and email. Regards Margaret.Version: 6.4.1

Some folders won't syncI'm having problems with some folders not synching,I have tried unsyncing and deleting folder then resync but it's always the same folders that won't sync.Version: 6.4.1

IOSThe iOS is just nonsense. I have to save the edited PDF to Adobe’s own folder first. Then I have to copy that edited PDF to the folder I wish on the iPad. Then I have to delete the original edited PDF from Adobe’s own folder, as otherwise I have two copies of the PDF, why would I want that? But then I can’t just delete the PDF from where Adobe saved it on the iPad, I have to open Adobe to delete it. Talk about making something complicated for no reason. The only reason I gave this 2 stars, as opposed to 1, is because this allows adding text for free, which is better than Adobe’s other app (Reader I think it’s called) which needs a paid subscription..Version: 7.14.0

Not going to pay twiceI brought this app 2 years ago and it seems that the app turns out to be needs subscription rather than pay for once. I don’t want to know why they do this, or sxxt. One star and I’ll never use this app again.Version: 7.2.8

Fallen from graceFor as long as I have been using PDF Expert the app had Dropbox for Business integration issues. Periodically the team would push out an update that seems to fix the problem but soon after the same issue resurfaces. The app has become unusable for me at work and I regret having purchased the annual premium membership. I’m switching to another PDF editor. If you don’t have the Dropbox issue you might not have the issue either with the Premium. In that case you will most likely enjoy using this app. I have written previously to the developer about this issue but only got lacklustre support responses. So, it’s time to let the public know..Version: 7.15

Has some major limitationsThis App is OK for a mobile app if all you want to do is fill in existing PDF files, but for truly editing documents it falls short. There’s no way to add enterable fields such as text fields, check boxes, signature fields, to be able to send to others and have them fill out. Additionally there are formatting issues any time I try to edit text, you can’t make text bold (what the heck??) and can only underline, and when I do try to underline text is screws up the formatting. Adobe Acrobat DC reigns supreme when it comes to editing PDF’s, however because I use my iPad as my work computer, this means I’m out of luck. Would love for the devs to add some of these features, or at the least, clean up the formatting issues. EDIT: I am currently trying to edit a pdf and there are SO MANY GLITCHES that it is more trouble than it is worth. Formatting issues, even hitting a number key and a different number being added (typing 4 creates 6’s in one field). This app is a buggy mess..Version: 7.9.9

BUYERS BEWARE OF ATTEMPTED SCAM ON SIGN-UPPlease everyone, read the whole comment: apologies for length. I have used PDF Expert for years - hands down the best PDF editor available. I paid for it before it was made free, so, usual story: somebody who paid for a program then had to put up with severely limited functionality because READDLE had discovered it could gouge more money from users by creating a two-tier free/premium structure. All the best features have for several years only been available to subscribers. The new free version is more basic. All that’s bad enough. However, earlier this year, PDF Expert (it’s on my iPad) stopped communicating with my DropBox account. I don’t know why. Anyway, I reinstalled, and have just tried to sign in again. Here’s the warning: there is a deliberate and deceptive attempt to fool you into signing on to the Premium version with a 1-week trial that automatically then flips you over to the extortionately priced subscription. I had to uninstall and reinstall twice before I realised what was going on. Make sure not to click continue at the point the Premium version appears on the screen. Instead, click the option that comes up to restore previous version. I’m sure the nice people will now say how sorry they are that I had this experience. However, this is a deliberate attempt at bait-and-switch. It’s an attempted con by professional scammers…sorry, innocent and well-intentioned online business..Version: 7.19.0

Getting increasingly worseThis app used to be fantastic - fluid, fast, efficient and thoughtful. However, over the past few months it’s become increasingly buggy, freezing and stuttering when trying to open the navigation pane, crashing out entirely fairly frequently, failing to authenticate with online services. In addition to this, the app doesn’t respect system theme mode, not implementing dark mode for its UI elements, and not offering to align itself to system settings for PDF page theme. It’s been over a year since dark mode was added to iOS. It’s disappointing that it hasn’t been added to a paid app that is still being sold, let alone one with multiple upgrade IAPs. The above leaves me with concerns about the longevity of this app..Version: 7.4.13

Terrible subscription after updatePDF Expert used to be one of my favourite apps. I bought it and then upgraded to the Pro version which cost me some more. I have the version for macOS all fully paid up Pro version too. All was well until this most recent update to v.7.... What's with this change to a subscription method of payment? I've already paid for the app twice (original download + Pro upgrade). Well in your greed, you've decided that the subscription price should be an outrageous £48pa!!! More fool you for thinking that I (and by all accounts many others) would be willing to pay this much each year for your software - because I'm not. I have deleted your app and all the others that I had installed. Surely it's better to get 'something' rather than 'nothing' isn't it? Sorry but you'll be getting nothing from me again..Version: 7.1.5

Badly implemented crop modeThe same stupid crop mode as in PDF Expert 4 - it does not fit automatically to cropped page width after each page turn. So, after each turn I need to fit every page manually again and again, despite the fact I've set "Minimum page zoom fits to: Page width" in settings. It just gets me mad, when I read some technical 1000 pages document and often need to travel back and forth during reading..:(.Version: 5.0.1

STILL DOESN’T WORK on iPhone 13 ProI feel awful that I finally had to lower my review to one star after submitting numerous reviews over the last six months that I still kept within the 3 to 4 star range because I was hoping they would work out whatever bugs were causing the problem and the issue would be resolved. I’ve been using Readdle’s products (Calendars 5, PDF Converter, etc) for a very long time and like them as a company. However, the last six months I have not been able to get PDF expert to open on my iPhone 13 Pro, despite installing numerous updates for the app. Every time it just opens to the white start-up screen with the logo on it, but never continues on to the main home page like it used to (my phone’s iOS is updated to the newest version). I’ve even tried deleting and reinstalling the app a few times, yet the problem persists. I’ve left a number of reviews about this issue, but it has never been resolved and I would like a clear answer as to why it is no longer working after all of this time. Thank you, Carver.Version: 7.13.0

SwitcherooI had the ap a long time ago and paid for it. Now all of a sudden I can’t do anything unless I pay again. I literally cannot do anything on it now and will try and get my money back..Version: 7.2.5

Downgrade Shift To A Subscription ModelThe latest update, marketed as an “upgrade” is in fact a downgrade. Those who have already paid for the original app, and then again for Pro Premium features find the same features now watered down and limited, with the developers now asking for a paid yearly subscription to unlock the same full set of features again. Poorly done. I hate the rampant forcing of subscription models onto existing, loyal and dedicated users, particularly when they’ve already spent a lot to own and unlock the apps original full feature set. Corporate profit-mongering at its absolute worst. The true insult is the staggering price the developers put on “renting” these additional features off them (again). £10 then maybe, £50 per year is a joke. It’s a PDF editor, get real!.Version: 7.1.7

Shady updateI see that in the new update, the previous feature to have a few customized pens saved for easy access has been moved to the new favorites tab which is a subscription-only feature. I don’t appreciate using an app that loses functionality over time as a function of the developer’s greed. Stop being so ridiculous..Version: 7.1.5

Don’t purchase from this fraudulent companyI purchased this app a year ago with the promise of having extended features from their “free version”, like simply editing text in a pdf. Recently, they stripped us paying customers of these features and turned it into a yearly $70CAD subscription. Going to be deleting all the Readdle apps from my iPad and switching over to a legitimate company soon. Please don’t make the same mistake I did and waste your time and money..Version: 7.2.1

I want the previous version (Version 6)Three major disappointments 1. Multiple pencils become a paid feature. 2. The zoom in and go back to default zoom by clicking the button is gone 3. The ribbon looks so clumsy with paid features. I paid a one-time purchase fee to use version 6, now the company delisted that in the App Store, which is a shame. I am just asking can Readdle keeps PDF expert 6 in the App Store so that old users can use it and choose if to upgrade. Now, I am forced to upgrade since I have to upgrade at some point if the only version is 7. Looks at what the company designs GoodNotes does, it released Goodnotes5, but still GoodNotes 4 is in the App Store..Version: 7.1.9

Fix text inputting with pencil immediately!!!I know PDF expert is trying to make the pencil work seamlessly with the text annotation. But it does not. It does not know when I don’t want to start writing at a new position of the page. In text mode, clicking with pencil does not give consistent feedback. It sometimes give you a blank text box, but sometimes it does not respond, because it is trying to recognize your print and start to write at where you clicked. IT IS NOT GOOD. FIX IT IMMEDIATELY, WE NEED CONSISTENT FEEDBACK AND KNOW WHAT RETURN WE WILL GET. Sometimes when you try to insert a word into a string of text, it just deletes everything, and cannot be undone..Version: 7.5.1

RoughZero.Version: 7.8.3

Biggest Problem is SyncingFirstly you will be hard pressed find a app that does the same for the price (not the subscribe price) Pay for the extra features but DO NOT subscribe, if you want to shrink PDF’s use PDF Genius Lite. I use this with One Drive, and File Browser Biz, BOTH of these apps can sync in the background, though File Browser Biz uses a manual sync method, plus has some other handy feature in bulk renaming files. It is beyond me why PDF Expert cannot sync in the background, and even when it isn’t in the background you seem to wait forever to see the files....that are already in the other 2 apps. I have been using this app for many many many years and i would be lost without it but it is frustrating to see the “orange exclamation marks” or for it to lose sync with One Drive. It definitely at times has a problem with folders with a lot of files (many GB) in it. If only it synced like One Drive..Version: 7.4.0

Uploaded a large file and the whole app broke downI uploaded over 100 images to be converted to PDF and merged however after that the app froze and I wasn’t able to make any changes to any files or even after I refresh the app it will still be frozen..Version: 7.4.9

Too many ads, occasionally flakeyLargely this is a good app, especially for stylus input for highlighting, and it is able to use that to get ‘summaries’ (i.e. the highlights). But unfortunately occasionally it will just keep reverting changes, the language used for describing features and the UI generally is not intuitive (albeit functional) and overall it mostly gets the job done. That said, I’m not convinced this is a viable alternative to documents being printed for study for example. You can read the doc, you can highlight bits, you sorta can scribble on there for notes, but it remains cumbersome. That’s not just the App, but the setup overall, but the UI issues are definitely not helping. Overall it seems to be one of the better alternatives, but less ads in a paid for product would be nice, although … yeah … wouldn’t check out those new features you try to get me to pay more money for..Version: 7.9.3

No Longer Recommend! This used to be my favourite pdf reader/annotation/manipulation app. But now I’m looking for another and advising others to stay away because of the subscription model. Just don’t need that kind of monthly expense. Thinking I might dump my other Readdle apps too, since if one moves to subscription the others might not be far behind. So sad. I used to say Readdle was one of the best app developers out there !.Version: 7.1.10

Pending!!!Used to be a regular user of PDF expert, this was a great app. I work in a job where I need to access my documents immediately, I use cloud to sync across various devices but when I need to access that information I’m met with the word ‘pending’ and then nothing! .... then after a while it will randomly download... way to so slow to access your cloud files. If you’re happy to wait then this is a good pdf annotation app but it’s no good to me... Time to look at other apps available, shame..Version: 7.3.1

From free to costly...They say “This update adds amazing new features for free”. To this I would like to add”... and remove some free features now available at a subscription cost”.Version: 7.1.5

They expect you to pay 50 dollars A YEAR.Are you kidding me? I’m going to sink hundreds of dollars into this? No way. One time would be bad enough but that adds up quick to hundreds of dollars, and when you inevitably cancel what are you left with... nothing. This subscription model trash has gotten completely out of hand and is completely unacceptable in my opinion. Either charge a big one time fee up front or just admit you’re a bunch of con artists on the tin. Because that’s all this subscription crap is, an extortionist con job if you ask me. I don’t like it. It just gets under my skin and reeks and stinks of the worst kind of greedy nonsense, it’s my pet peeve and it’s why I left Photoshop. If it was a good deal that would be one thing but dude it’s a PDF editor. I paid 40 bucks for 3 top notch Affinity apps in one go. I would be using much more colorful language about this “subscription pricing model” newspeak (imagine an expletive or several of your choosing) but I guess I can’t do that. Just fill in the blanks. Don’t listen to their customer service crap, absolutely nobody likes this behavior. It’s not an issue, it’s greedy corporate money grubbing, keep your money out of their hands..Version: 7.3.7

The app has been rendered almost useless!PDF expert has been the app I’ve used everyday for client meetings over the past 3 years. It has been superb. The sync function with Sharepoint, scanning documents straight into folders to annotate, fast editing and sharing, dragging PDFs from mail into client folders etc have been excellent. This was easily a 5 star app until the update to Version 7. Sadly it is no longer useable. Not fit for purpose. Absolutely broken!! It is slow and unresponsive to the point it’s more than frustrating, it’s actually unusable. I have looked like a fool in my client meetings for the past 3 weeks, so sadly I am now looking for a new app (which will mean a complete change to my working process). Gutted! I have sent feedback, detailed logging and screen captures vids from my iPad twice without any improvements. Very poor Readdle :0(.Version: 7.1.8

Paid for what?I bought the full version of this app last year and now they have changed to a subscription based service, and I no longer have access to the full features !?! I want a refund !!!.Version: 7.1.9

Price increase and subscription modelPrice went from 5 dollars for life to 100 dollars a year. No respect for initial supporters and people who bought this app 5 years ago when it was just expanding. Greedy model that keeps repeating itself..Version: 7.16.4

READ False Advertisement All Day READThe product is mediocre compared to things you can get for free anyways but here was the kicker for me. I started using this software for the editor to pdf invoicing. I use a MacBook, IPad, and iPhone Pro as many cross reference these devices as Apple has been notorious in setting up there devices to be used this way. So I started off on my computer downloaded the software, then connected them and used the app. It was a free trial for a week and then was 50/year. I make a couple invoices and my trial ends and I’m charged for the year and get on my Mac which is now telling me my trial has ended? I contact support who informs me that each platform has its own license fee? Ha, gimmick all day. So you pay 90 for the Mac a year 50 for the iPhone and I don’t even wanna see what the iPad says. So you need 3 different licenses to make this actually work! Let’s talk about a company that has a clue shall we? Microsoft 365, you purchase a license and it can be used on each device! It’s 100 / year and it’s clear as day for a license that can be used on iPad iPhone and a Mac. Nothing about it is a secret. This company is false advertisement all day deceiving you to think it is a one time subscription fee without informing you there is a subscription fee for each device used so at the end of the day you pay what 300/year for a pdf editor? Got my laugh for the day when these are free all over the place..Version: 7.3.1

A very well designed app with an unacceptable pricetagThis app has honestly been a great solution to my job my job as a photographer where I have multiple clients signing release forms and writing down their names and addresses. I’m really happy to use PDF expert, however, to unlock all its features so that it is actually practically effective as an app is a whopping £49 per year which is ASTOUNDING. I’m aware that the next good software is acrobat which is even more expensive but I just don’t care. This is a PDF editor, not Final Cut Pro, and make customers pay this amount of money YEARLY (not even just for single payment) for a PDF editor is insane to me..Version: 7.2.5

AirTurn won’t turn pages anymore - please fixI used this app a lot to play my music from PDFs. I was trying it today during a concert and surprise! The Bluetooth pedal doesn’t turn pages anymore. It just scrolls the pages a little bit. Not sure which version produced the change but I hope the bug can be corrected. I give it 3 starts because it’s still a good PDF editor. Please fix..Version: 7.1.8

No way to purchase app, can only be ‘rented’ for $50/yearI would gladly pay whatever you feel your software to be worth to own it. However, this “subscription” model where you are essentially only renting out the app, is exceedingly unfair with the customer. I’ve been using Goodreader, for example, for years and years. By 5 years, your app has cost 250USD, and by 10 years, 500 dollars. Please add an option to purchase the full version of the app outright, rather than a subscription-only model, to which I, and many like me, would never agree, no matter how good the app itself. Don’t give in to this unfair concept of software as a service, instead of a product, which it is. It’s being pushed currently as it’s more profitable, but exploitative to customers, don’t encourage it. UPDATE-REPLY TO DEVELOPER COMMENT: Thank you for your reply; what I’m requesting is the ability to purchase the app outright and permanently, for whatever it’s price is, and NOT to purchase a subscription in order to be able to use it, no matter how flexible. My request is for a purchase option, whereas you currently only allow subscription-based option, which I, and I imagine many like me, would never do, although I would be willing to pay a considerable amount to purchase the app, it’s currently not an option for any amount. A “more flexible” subscription plan doesn’t help, as I will not purchase a subscription..Version: 7.4.9

Lost featuresThis is undoubtedly the best pdf app out there, too bad that recent update made it go backwards instead of forwards. First of all, The option of three pencils was very efficient and quick, as well as the “zoom in pencil” function, which is now buried deep inside the color selector of the only available pencil, which is nothing but a slowdown. As i used to have multiple colored and sized pencils ready to go, now i have to change it every single time. Secondly, ive had this app for about 2 years, ive had about 1000 books inside of it, but it’s all gone after the update, I can’t seem to be able to find it anywhere after the lastest update, even though they’re still taking space in my ipad “3.3gb is the storage taken by this app” which means they’re still there somewhere, i just can’t seem to find them anywhere. Luckily I could re-download those books, but i just can’t get over the fact that all my highlights are gone now..Version: 7.2.1

Another SubscriptionAlmost every app from the worthwhile app to even the piss-poor one's require subscriptions in order to use them. It's enough to make you go bankrupt! This has gotten way out of hand, and is simply not fair to the consumer. Many apps even conceal costs and info regarding purchases required to get anything of value from an app. Then, there is of course, the text which lays out "the terms". Most average people cannot understand or even read the content which is written in profuse legalese. I've shown some of these "terms" documents to attorneys, and even some of them were scratching their heads. In reality, the way these things are constructed, it would probably be wise to retain an attorney just to review these terms before you agree to use any application. Some of the lawyers I spoke with said they'd never agree to having their clients sign on to any number of apps with these terms. That is especially true with regard to issues of privacy which always seem to appear in the very smallest of print. While this app does look very capable and would be a welcome addition, you add up the costs of 10, 20 or 30 subscriptions, you suddenly realize why you're running a deficit at bill time. Offer a purchase option for people!.Version: 7.4.16

CrashesIt crashes every 5-10 minutes (not exaggerating!) and I lose the annotations which is frustrating for me. I can work around it, when I notice the pen input stops working click on go back to close document and then it goes back where I left it. It's like living in the bad old days where you had to save your files every 20 minutes in case of a power cut..Version: 5.5.5
