✓ Simple EleganceI was motivated to review by seeing some of the complaints on featured reviews. I have played this game daily for months and find it engaging and challenging still. Yes it took only a few minutes to get started, but every game draws me in to paying thoughtful attention and is a joy. I know there is more to learn still as I have still never gotten to the 3072 tile after playing over 1000 times. Maybe because I enjoy playing before I go to sleep. Maybe because I’m stupid. Who knows? This game does randomly choose the next tile to add, and uses some randomness in choosing where to add it. So you might feel like you are doing everything “right” and promptly lose. Randomness is like that. I like managing for this as best I can, and am ok with losing and starting again..Version: 3.0.1

✓ Best few bucks I ever spent.I’ve been playing for almost seven years now and only recently got a new tile and it was one of the most satisfying experiences of my entire life. Threes rocks the tricky combination of simple and deep, and though you’ll know the rules right away and can guess early at some good general strategies, you can slowly get better for years, fine-tuning your approach and feeling yourself improving. ✓ Who needs real life?My world now consists of pushing little numbered tiles around. Everything I do is accompanied by a jingly little soundtrack. There is no more purpose to my existence, other than multiplying things by three (and occasionally finding a power socket so I don't have to stop). I'm fairly certain I have forgotten how to tackle everyday life, such as working, eating and probably breathing. Move the numbers strategically to add 1s to 2s, and then add 3s to 3s and so on, until you're struggling to make another 96 to add to the other 96 you have hidden away in a corner. ✓ Worth a readWhile reading this review , imagine there is inspirational music going on in the background: Back in 2014, I played 2048, and this game came up as a suggested game, it got good reviews so I thought , sure I’ll give it a try. After several games I realised that some of the randomness meant you could get a large number in a place where you really don’t want a large number. It took me a while to get used to this and learnt techniques to deal with those awkward “192”/“384”shapes when you really don’t want it. I have been playing this game on and off for the last seven years . About three years in , on a cold December morning, I hit a 3072 and was ready to retire . So I put it down …… and then lock down hit and thought , maybe this is my time to come out of retirement and get the 6144 that everyone craves. I came incredibly close on many occasions until one Sunday morning I finally reached it, it actually happened . I can say from personal experience that this is an incredibly difficult game , however it is so rewarding and easy to get into. The gorgeous cutesy graphics are wonderful , and the music is really catchy. But make no mistake , if you are ever considering going for the 6144 tile, luck can get you so far but you really need to consider every slide carefully and slowly in order to succeed. I strongly recommend this game, if I could give it 6 stars I really would. I know I’ve written an essay length review here but it has been worth it for a game as high quality as it is..Version: 3.0.1

✓ Simply a great game.Sometimes people just want to complain because they have a forum in which to do it, but not because they have anything worthwhile to say. The negative reviews regarding Threes is an example of that. This game is simple, challenging, and can fill hours of time if you allow yourself to get lost in the game. It’s the perfect example of a game that doesn’t harangue you with in app purchases, and the complaints about a merchandise page are ridiculous since you can scroll past it in an instant. This is a wonderful little gem that does not nickel and dime you for a great time. Ignore the detractors, for their negative opinions on this game are not warranted at all..Version: 1.3.6

✓ Great but Game Centre Issues2048 is great, but Threes is much much better. Rather than just thinking about where I want the tiles to go, Threes has you thinking about where you want to place the new tiles that appear. This makes the game much more tactical - and much more addictive. One issue which is stopping me I from giving this game 5 stars is that as often as not when I get a really good score, it suddenly decides to lose its Game Centre connection and so my score isn't uploaded. Fix the game to upload the score the next time it connects to Game Centre and I'll give it 5 stars..Version: 1.0.3

✓ Solid concept and fantastic executionThe thought put into this game shows with the depth of its play. A couple of moves can mean the difference between a high score or game over. There are no cheap tricks to it, no corner tactics (looking at you 2048) or easy wins. The personality of the game really shines. I'm not big on the cutesy feel this game draws on and was apprehensive at first, but the game is not over the top about it and the character quickly grew on me. Each tile having it's own backstory helped a lot in this regard. It gave me something to relate to and drew me in to finding higher numbered tiles so I could 'meet' them. The music is great. Matches the vibe of the game and doesn't get old. My only gripe is that it doesn't run perfectly on my iPhone 4 and I sometimes get low frames and tile numbers do not update when matched occasionally, but I am willing to put that down to hardware.
