✓ Better than the handheld 12CThis is amazing. Better than having the actual handheld calculator. It’s worth it just to get the worksheets it includes. For example you can enter the basics into an amortization form and email the 30 year (or whatever you input) as a pdf. I had a question and Ernie e-mailed me back to help me. Highly recommend. ✓ Great App!I use this all the time since installed. Seems to work just like the original HP12C, only faster. Once created, programs remain stored indefinitely, which is contrary to another HP12C type app I had where the program was erased after each use. There are associated programs where you can get results printed such as an amortization schedule. It has a conversion feature which I really find handy. It will even convert currency. ✓ Greatest CalculatorErnest Brock has done a phenomenal job with this App. I first downloaded a version of this years ago when it was offered free for a short time. Then (I believe) HP asked Ernie to make some changes. I was extremely worried when I updated my first iPhone, because I thought I would lose this App. But it kept on working. Finally with my iPhone 7, I finally broke down to repurchase the newer (and improved) version. If you are a fan of HP-12C calculator, then you will likely find this App very intuitive, and I won’t go into describing all the ways it can be used. But some of the novel features include: * Currency converter, and current currency values can be updated whenever you want. *. A “tape” feature, so that you can see what an adding machine tape would show if it were part of the HP-12C calculator. And although I don’t use it for much more than a basic calculator with financial and real estate (loan, mortgage, PV, etc) calculations as I did for years with my regular HP-12C, I can honestly say that I use this App ALL THE TIME, especially during tax season! Finally, over the years I have had 2-3 emails with Mr Brock, who has always been prompt, honest, and provided me with valuable tips and help. Just what you want with a developer. ✓ Formatting is problematicYou can’t get rid of the written instructions presented alongside the actual calculator if you are on the Ipad. It is distracting and unnecessary if you are already familiar with the application’s functionality. It primarily reduces the spatial formatting of the calculator itself. I assume that this was done to improve penetration rates among those individuals that do not know reverse polish notation. The problem is that the 12c caters to a specific community interested in advanced financial applications. If those individuals don’t have an interest in performing these types of functions, then they are likely not going to need to or be interested in this application. If you're not in school and you aren't an aerospace engineer, a financial calculator is likely the better choice over a scientific for your day-to-day. I have always owned at least three HP 12C handheld calculators since these came to the market decades ago.
