My Workout+ for Negative User Reviews

Worst workout tracking appNot real intuitive and when a workout is saved and it is applied to a day. Good luck trying to edit a set or weight the first try. It’s great if you like getting frustrated when you hit save and the values remain the same. Then you lose track off which set you were on. Going back to WorkIt it’s a clearly superior app. Don’t waste your money..Version: 4.0.4

Not very smoothMy workout selections do not work very well. It gets delayed for a couple of minutes before it pops up. The calories burnt is not very accurate. There is a 1000 calorie difference from my Fitbit and this app. The app takes basic information to assess the calories burnt. Not very accurate. It would be ideal if it would integrate with my Fitbit data..Version: 2022.04

Builder sucks.Used to be good. No updates and not as user friendly. It deletes my workout days or portions. Crashes constantly when want to make a superset and list takes forever to load (also crashes while loading). I’m writing this as I just tried to update my leg day workout (cause it’s not loading my custom exercises) and when I hit save, it just deleted the whole thing. Will likely delete this app. It’s been years and not getting better , getting worse if anything.Version: 2021.06

Save your money!!Worst tracking app for workouts. The diet app isn’t bad but this one needs work. Cardio tracking is confusing and won’t work for distance runners. Tried to get a refund but was given some lame excuse about I was over the allotted days allowable. Overall, bad app and worse customer service experience..Version: 4.0.3

Could be betterI appreciate this this app allows you to track your work outs, but I was hoping that it would be more helpful with teaching me HOW to work out. It would be very helpful for the app to have set work out plans for users to follow, based on what results they are looking for. For example, weekly work out plans that designate certain days for certain muscle groups. The app has a long list of work out techniques, but it doesn’t explain how to do the technique correctly, or offer advice on the amount of weight and reps you should do. A lot of the work out techniques also don’t show pictures, so i ended up looking up a lot of stuff online, which ended up being very time consuming..Version: 4.0.7

Has some bugsI’m having various issues when logging and saving difficulty on each exercise. It seem that sometime it’s registers it and most of the time it doesn’t. It tends to happen very often and I hope there will be an update that can fix this issue. I like the app but having to repeat this process almost every time is time consuming on the long run and takes away concentration from my workout..Version: 4.0.13

DisappointedJust got this app to sync with my macros+ and it really doesn't sync the 2 together so I can track if my caloric deficit is in check with my workouts Biggest disappointment is there's no Cardio exercises Or metabolic training exercises Ex: Kickboxing, Jacobs Ladder , Skiiers, Sled push or pull Anyways if they can be updated this would be great for me.Version: 2.0.1

Not for people who use programsI was thinking it would be a lot easier to just push in what time of work out you were doing rather than giving ridiculous amounts of details. It’s mainly for weight lifting and free work outs that aren’t ran by a program. I do programs like Barre and kickboxing so I wasted 2.99. Don’t get this if you are doing programs that change daily. Unless you life manually putting in everything you did. Just isn’t for everyone..Version: 4.0.7

Not very usefulMaybe I am missing the point or can’t find the right features but I’m not really sure what the point of this app is. The interface for recording workouts is great, but what can you do with that data? I don’t see a way to effectively track progress or view areas that are lacking. The simple ability to export this data would be great because you could then do some post processing to see how you are progressing. Am I missing something? 2 stars because the interface is so clean and easy to use. Too bad there is no point in recording data that can’t be used to make decisions..Version: 2021.06

Good enough but really tired of crashes and glitchesBasic and simple to use which is great for my ADHD but really frustrating when the app crashes out of nowhere or adds exercise sets to the wrong superset or exercise group which means I have to delete the entry and scroll down *just a little* so it doesn’t glitch and jump/skip or whatever it does. Also the general usability of the app is good enough for just entering workouts as you go but little to no options for editing/updating old exercises, equipment, or just in general. I don’t think of everything I need to add when I’m hurriedly creating a new exercise so being able to update or edit would be a great thing for just general usability..Version: 2023.10

Not quite as good as MyMacros+A bit disappointing. MyMacros+ works really well and it's great to have an exercise app that works with it to help with calorie in/out comparison but I find MyWorkout+ very clunky to use and I'm having to set up a lot of exercises in the directory that are fairly standard and which I would have expected to find already included. Hoping it'll improve in time though..Version: 2.0.1

New software update makes the app unusableI’ve used this app for years to track my workouts, but the most recent software update has made it unusable. Lag, unable to record lifts, and app crashes. Test your product before rolling it out..Version: 2022.06

Confusing and annoyingHiding subscriptions that should’ve been added in the original version. The sister app (my macros+) is confusing as it doesn’t even ask you what your goals are or what your weight is. If you do want that help it’s a paid subscription. Was a hidden cost I didn’t know about so before buying this make sure you read this review because you’ll be disappointed. Find another app as it’s a waste of 8 dollars.Version: 4.0.7

Confusing UIApp is readable by Heath App but doesn’t allow you to add the data that’s collected through the app (like body weight) No option to add second duration as a form of tracking, just lbs and kg, so you can’t track a plank for example in seconds No back button or gesture to get out of reordering workouts Links to the my macros app but still needs improvements to data base entries for food and barcode scanner.Version: 2020.11

App has been left for deadAn excellent app when I first got it. Does everything you need to record your workouts, break periods, progress etc. But seems the developers have left the app to rot without updating it since May 16. So many of its features do not work due to it being out of date with apple IOS updates. Was such a great app too. Avoid..Version: 2.1.1

Used to be greatThis used to be my go to workout app. I’ve used it for years. Recently it’s been absolutely awful. Saving any set will usually never actually save it, it takes multiple tries. I’ve even had saved sets completely disappear. Just now I tried adding a set and it took 5 tries before it actually saved it. Would not recommend as it is now..Version: 2020.16

Mostly greatI appreciate how it tracks volume, has a large library of workouts, and converts that to calories to use with the macros app. However, the way it calculates weight lose or gain is a bit of mystery. When I consume more calories than I expend, I am told that I will lose weight. I’m not sure how that’s the case. For instance, I consumed 2721 calories and expended 2567 calories. The app stated I’d lose .1lb. This seems strange to me. I’d love to understand how that works. Update: I’ve sent two emails with no response yet..Version: 2023.11

Version 4.0.12 DO NOT UPDATEThis update causes the app to crash when you try to add an exercise. Before this, the app was working fine. It keeps a log of all your workouts and allows you to see all of your past PRs at a glance. On the next update, I hope it allows you to export all of your history..Version: 4.0.12

CloseDefinitely needs to sync to Macros coach and more so to heath data/activity to iWatch. Things that would make it a powerful weight lifting app: 1) plans that you can set to roll with you with rest timer built in. 2) Ability to upload pictures to exercise 3) Notes per exercise 4) really needs to track history for workouts 5) Measurements sync to checkin Did I mention sync to iPhone/iWatch!?.Version: 2022.04

Like the simplicity, but has bugsI like the simplicity of being able to make multiple workouts and add them directly to my day from my library. I HATE that when I save a workout it reorders my workout order . If you make any changes to sets or weights, it reorders your workouts. So annoying..Version: 2024.02

Great Potential; Few IssuesOverall, I like this app a lot. It is much easier to use than the BodySpace app I was using before. That said, I have a few annoyances which I hope can be addressed in a future update. 1) There is no easy way to take a manually entered workout for a day and save it as template for future sessions. For instance, I purchased the app right before my gym session today. I immediately began adding workouts manually for my Back/Bicep day. It was later that I found you could create and save templates, but that I’d have to re-create my entire workout manually again since there was no way to create a template from a prior workout or turn the workout into a template. 2) Speaking of templates, editing them is a pain; there is no margin for error when creating one. Tap the wrong workout? Have to start all over because there is no way to remove one. Tap add set one too many times? Same thing. 3) Unlike the macro companion app, this one seems to be missing a way to relaunch tutorials? That would be useful since the first time I booted this up was at the gym and I was more focused on my workout than my phone. Other than that, I’m happy with this purchase overall! Sadly, not so much with the companion app. Hoping both continue to improve moving forward..Version: 3.1.5

Absolutely no videosThis app was a total waste of money! I am so frustrated. I have spent days trying to find the videos promoted by the company. They aren’t in the app at all. There’s a timer, a way to log your work out, log your weight..... nothing that my phone doesn’t have already. I only paid for it for the videos because I wanted to try toning different parts of my body. Very disappointed..Version: 2021.02

Wish I could get my money backOther apps sync with Apple Watch or other exercise tracking devices to input calories burned, amount of exercise, etc but this app doesn’t. That is a big deal maker for me. I really wanted to like it but I don’t. For a paid app it should offer more.Version: 2022.04

Update broke the appAfter the newest update, I am not able to add any exercises. I tried redownloading the app, but now it tells me my account doesn’t exist. So, I just lost over a years worth of workout information... 10/19 update: The recent update fixed the crashing issue, but I’ve reached out to the company about restoring my workouts but have received no response..Version: 4.0.13

Need subscription to use it on Apple WatchI bought this app just for the Apple Watch functionality, only to find out you have to have a subscription to do that. A subscription to enter data on the watch is quite the money grab..Version: 2021.02

PotentialThis app has potential. I found it lengthy to enter my daily workout..Version: 1.4

Not greatIt looks good for weightlifting but not cardio. I thought it would sync with my Apple Watch for calories burned when I use my Peloton. Nope. Even if I manually input bike or bicycling it still wants you to input reps and sets. That doesn’t make sense. Definitely not as good as MyFitnessPal which syncs cardio and steps automatically..Version: 2022.03

I wish you could add video to custom exercisesThere doesn’t seem to be a way to add to “form” details to a custom exercise. The preset database has great form notes and videos. I like adding videos or photo guides I find online so I make sure I’m doing the exercise right. If it had that feature for custom exercises it would be perfect!.Version: 2021.02

Good could be greatThis is a good app has almost all the essentials to be a great tracker. More exercises option then I’ve seen in other apps and a nice layout If an audio cue for the end of a rest timer (so you don’t have to continuously look at your phone) and auto start rest timer when you put in a set would be added, this would a great weight tracker..Version: 2022.12

Very poorly designed, refund plz? There are some serious flaws in this app, flaws any app developers/ fitness people could see as being problematic. You write down a set...but no option for a quick timer. The majority of exercises don’t have descriptions or photos. You can’t mark any ´favourite’ exercises. Saved exercise routines are not editable after being created. After you select an exercise, there’s no button to return to the home screen and track your sets...you just have to tap in the corners to return...all small, but incredibly idiotic, but relatively standard fitness app functions. Get your act together! And gimme my money back while you’re at it!.Version: 2020.07

Good, but not great.I’ve waited a week to write my review, so I’ll get right to it. Pros: it seems to work fine without internet connection. That was a huge issue with BodySpace; the app I used before, I’ll be comparing them a lot due to my frame of reference. I didn’t mind the upfront cost, I prefer it to some of the others that use subscription fees. I haven’t made a ton of workout plans, but there doesn’t seem to be an imposed limit like BodySpace. The design is simple. The totals of weigh lifted by each muscle at the end is pretty cool as well. The graphs the app makes for volume is also nice. Cons: my biggest pet peeve is having to manually start the clock after each set. The workout database seems to be large, but the amount of information on how to do the exercises correctly is scarce, most don’t even have photos. I don’t like that you can’t make the workout with a predetermined amount of reps to do without having to “do” the workout; by that I mean putting 0 in weights and adding sets one by one. I don’t like that you can’t just simply review the plan you’ve made without adding it to the calendar day or editing it. I don’t like that it doesn’t give you a start and finish time. I don’t like how bodyweight exercises still require you put a weight. I don’t like the superset feature, it’s super confusing. Overall, it’s a good app and I think I’ll continue using it over BodySpace, but in my opinion; for whatever it’s worth, it’s got a lot of room for improvement..Version: 4.0

Basic Workout Log AppPretty basic workout logging app. Missing a few basic functions like: -automatically starting a test timer after a set -repeating set weight and reps (have to enter each manually even though you are repeating) -lack of charts/graphs. It’s going to be interesting to see if the developer improves it..Version: 2023.12

I like butIt's good so far, but it won't let me sign in and I can't link it to the macro app which was a big reason I got it. Great that you can save and track workouts though..Version: 2.0

DisappointedNo cardio options. Swimming blank. Calories burned? Who knows?!.Version: 2.0.1

Good could be betterVery good app when working. Lately I have been having problems logging workouts. The app starts to crash or freeze. Minor issues I’m sure that can be fixed to get 5 stars..Version: 2019.14

TerribleI used this app for about two years….I liked it at first but as time went on there were more and more functionality issues. It tracked my one rep max and muscle groups worked but it’s gotten less reliable. I tried to stick with it but it’s bad. Lags, freezes, doesn’t save, it just doesn’t work. It’s extremely frustrating to be in the middle of workout and this app refuses to work load or function properly. I will be deleting and never using again. Pathetic.Version: 2022.11
