KORG Gadget 3 for Positive User Reviews

KorgAbsolutely love this software, vst’s are cheap and good value for money, I got both midi controlers and they work a treat thanks Korg keep those vst’s coming.Version: 4.6.32

GADGET 3 - Amazing, wonderful, brilliantThis was always my favourite music-making DAW, but since the update it has attained another level of wonder for me. And the fact many of the gadgets are now auv3 it will surely tempt many more people into entering this wonderful world of music creation..Version: 6.0.0

Great piece of softwareUse it for last two years - very happy! I've it on my Mac as well and looking forward to a new version 2. For now I've a hardware rig, use Ableton Live a lot, but still have Gadget on all my iOS/MacOS devices for prototyping, checking ideas and so on. Super-handy at the long flights. Absolutely usable on iPhone (but I tried only on the big ones - 7+ and Xr) and very convenient with pen on iPad. Instruments and their presets are on high-level, fully satisfied by them. I miss only more advanced sequencer - like Elektron’s have or random-plugins for that - but I suppose it'll be really hard to use on phones. PS: Integration with Ableton is nice, not only export, but just instruments as VSTs..Version: 3.7.2

Only the best music app for iOS/MacAbsolutely genius, have been waiting for an app like this for a very long time..Version: 3.0.2

Almost a DAWGadget is really powerful. It’s almost a full fledged DAW. Most of the gadgets are useful, some sound really good. They run 50% sales frequently on all their apps and in app purchases. The only in app purchase I would recommend are Bilbao for the drum sampler, Vancouver for a melodic sampler, Gladstone if you want acoustic drums, and Madrid for bass guitar and upright bass. Gadget has a couple of pretty notable downsides, though. You can’t sample directly in the app with any of the sampler gadgets, sounds must be imported. The vertical workflow is great for working on an iPhone, but it makes the audio recording gadgets almost unusable IMO. When I use audio I load it into one of the sampler gadgets so that I can place it more precisely in the timeline, unfortunately sounds longer than ten seconds get cut off, so I only use very short audio clips. Stems export nicely to Dropbox so that I can finish work somewhere else..Version: 4.6.15

SuperI love gadget, I have been using it since it came out on the iPad originally. It's evolution has been great. Love the sounds. All the utilities , like export to MIDI, audio tracks are great. I only wish now for AUv3 plugin support in 2 ways: to be able to run AUv3 plugings in gadget and have each gadget available has AUv3 plugins for other apps..Version: 4.6.16

He best the virtual world can offer. It’s not going to be everything to everyone, but there’s nothing better happening on the iPad..Version: 3.5.4

Let’s Talk about Mac OS & IDAM...Love Gadget... Just Love it.. My favourite DAW of all time. In fact, I have it on all my iOS devices and even payed out the much larger sum and got it on my Mini Mac as well.. It’s definitely a 5 Star DAW for me, however for now I can only give 4 stars... I have literally only 1 gripe... and to some it may only be a small problem. But to me it’s a massive biggie. Due to lack of info when researching how IDAM works, I’ve literally only just found out that on Mac OS it’s the DAW of choice that utilises IDAM to then incorporate your iOS devices to send/receive midi data. Without the DAW on a Mac, IDAM is pretty much useless for midi data. The problem is Gadget doesn’t have a midi out function..? So I can’t get my Midi Keyboards to send midi data to my iPads thru the Mac.. If I was to use GarageBand or Logic Pro X, then I can use the midi out function and get all keyboards and iOS devices working in perfect harmony thru Mama Mac. Studiomux is the only way I can get around this.. But takes time to setup.. and IDAM is just sitting there grinning at me.. taunting me... laughing at me... Because Gadget haven’t stepped up their game yet.. Please Mr Gadget.. Pretty pretty please with a big fat cherry on top.. Can I have a midi out function for Christmas?.Version: 3.6.2

Its my go to music making appGadget is an integral part of my set up, it works amazingly, it is constantly being improved and updated and i can use many of my korg apps as instruments within gadget. Gadget is awesome for getting ideas going quickly, and allows user to export audio to other programs quickly and conveniently..Version: 3.5.4

Outstanding! Even better with the new gadgetsQuality sounds and thoughtful interface design make this a must-have. superb! Fantastic addition of new modules is a real bonus..Version: 1.1

Packs A Lot For One Low Price!I am a music producer who is unable to afford hardware options that one would see in a studio, so am limited to software options. On iOS, I find many music apps to be great, but don't have everything in the box on their own (Audiobus and AU support come to mind here). I can honestly say that Gadget is one of the most complete packages, offering just about everything you need to create something from start to finish. The in app purchases are quite worth it, as they just expand your toolset for creativity. Very well done Korg!.Version: 3.5.2

Thank youGadget is fun, useful and easy to use. Great for song starting, with super easy exporting options. Would love to see a few more gadgets please. Cuz I have them all!!.Version: 4.7.3

Dirty Devils Devils Artist ReviewWe Don't write reviews usually but simply found hard NOT to rate this. Gadget is a 💥9.5/10 Superb if you want replicate a 70s,80s, 90s sounds especially with M1 add on and with gadget2 there is a healthy update of Bass leads midi output to controll external Vsts aka apps there are huge choice of drums pads/pianos/80s style gadgets /bass A great portable option and more an alternative than a full replacement of our #daw. Basically this is more of an add on to your Ableton/ DAW studio rather than being in all in 1 that it could maybe be within a few years loads of boxes make a track quick. export #midi file save as ableton file #ableton link. KORG Could do with some modern synth add ons. Which is only thing that lets app down. But if you want hours of fun and options and you looking for a music making App. This is the one contact us direct Facebook. (Com)/DirtyDrainDevils.Version: 4.5.3

Great app sad to see korg is not updating the app.Korg gadget is 1 of the coolest app for iphone music creating. Once you have Korg Gadget on your iPhone and your on a bus, plane, train or any where and get inspiration you can just make it. Once you get home because it save on icloud you can open the same file on your Ipad or you can transfer the files to dropbox and from dropbox you open the files on your favorite music software like Reason, Ableton live, Bitwig, Fl studio, cubase ect ect. It very sad that Korg is not updating this cool app.😔 This App needs serious update. It needs a way easier to add your own samples, it needs a way to slice your audio and manipulate audio better. I now korg want to sell there midi controller for this app, but korg some us we have midi controller that can do way more than your small midi controllers. It will be cool for Korg to give us the MIDI Implementation for the mixer or at least let us buy to open the mixer so we can controller the mixer with our own controllers. Soon it 2024 so it be cool to see korg gadget version 3..Version: 4.8.1

A few months in...I like most styles of music but prefer the old school sounds. I added Gladstone and Madrid to my gadgets and they give me exactly what I want. I’ve been mixing a little Gladstone with some Recife to get a nice mix of old and new sounds. Madrid gives me the big, driving bass sounds I have always loved and layering some extra bass from other gadgets gives me that same blend of old and new. I can get some decent lead sounds out of Madrid that emulate a real electric guitar and there’s a few decent guitar sounds on other gadgets but a dedicated guitar gadget with trills, slides, different bends(prebends, half/whole/whole+half), hammer on/offs, whammy bar/pedal, manual wah, alternate tuning, palm muting, chucking, finger tapping, etc would be great. Rosario does a great job of processing guitar sounds but I’d like to be able to add realistic sounding guitar even when my axes are not at hand..Version: 3.5.3

Obsessed. My most used music app on iOS!I can’t possibly review every in app purchase I’ve made. I love gadget, but ultimately I wish it had more full daw features. Cubasis and Auria pro are more for that work. This app isn’t really for tracking multiple instruments for more than 16 bars. I hate swapping apps though so I mostly stay in gadget... or don’t use it at all. The base package of sounds allows for loads of stuff to get you started, but you might want to pick some of the extra in app purchases to fill out your palate of styles. I recommend Bilbao, Kamata, and Gladstone to name a few. Everything goes on sale regularly for the summer so hold out money’s tight. The sounds that come out of here are so good your brain will EXPLODE! Now that I’ve lost my mind, I have a few ideas for features like add a lyric gadget that lets you do karaoke style lyrics. Custom Pads with an arp like beatmaker 3 would be nice. Using bm3 as midi into gadget is not great as the timing seems to suffer occasionally. Bm3 allows a for a hardware pad to be bound to the bm3 apps pad (focus actions). Allowing a hardware pad midi note to be bound this way allows for scales to be input easily via another menu, along with an arpeggiator. I bring my iPad everywhere because of this app!!!.Version: 4.5.1

AmazingI am amazed at the power and quality of this app. It really is brilliant: easy to use and sound fantastic! If only there was an easy way to share the Gadget 2 project files with other people on iPad. Sharing audio and/or MIDI files doesn’t preserve the automation. Also, there is a bug with the M1 iPad Pro where the app stops playing audio sometimes. I have started using the Mac version of Gadget and also export projects to Ableton. My new workflow is to sketch ideas on Gadget on the iPad and then export to my Mac to complete the project on Gadget and Ableton..Version: 4.6.16

Amazing and fun - perfect addition to the familyAwesome app well done. Needs an arpeggiator and better midi keyboard support ( mod and pitch ) impressive how much you fit into this app..Version: 1.0.1

Great music app but latest update brokenRecent update freezes the app when opening an existing file after using the new from genre feature. Workaround for now is to not use this feature, or create a new file and then go to open existing files..Version: 6.0.1

Reason alone to buy an iPadFor a while I felt silly, that I had bought an iPad Pro as it was honestly just collecting dust. Then I found this app and started making music every single day. It’s probably 99% of what I use my iPad for, I’m able to make more creative music now than I ever have. The one weakness here is this is a very expensive app, once you buy all the plug-ins and it the sister apps that work with it, you’re probably at about $300. However if you know anything about music production, each one of these plug-ins on a Mac would probably cost you about $100 each. So it does end up being a very good value if you’re serious about making music. I would not buy this if you’re not open to spending at least another $50 on the various plug-ins. Thank you Kong.Version: 4.6.19

Amazing appHands down my favorite iOS daw to use, I’ve bought most of the extra gadgets and standalone that run as gadget. I’d like to see some more ifx and some kaoss controls... it’s 10x better on iOS than switch if you’re wondering, touch controls make more sense, things flow. Switch feels odd with a controller, and switch has no extra gadgets or ifx at all. Gadget reminds me a lot of FL studio as far as workspace and flow, very easy to copy patterns, move and edit patterns. The built in gadgets could get you through plenty of songs, but some of the purchase gadgets are well worth it and compliment the available gadgets. I’d highly recommend this, I use it more than Cubasis or GarageBand..Version: 4.5.1

Great tool!Promotions all around. This app is a great music creation tool..Version: 3.0.2

Just stunningI started using synths in the era of the TB303 and Juno 6. For a small fraction of the cost of either of those I now have access to every possible variation of synth type. I’m enjoying every minute - with the one minor exception of a prompt to save when leaving a track. Brilliant piece of kit..Version: 4.0.2

Love it, but it not without some bugs. It’s by far the best music app on the App Store, better than cubasis and all the others i have tried (and its almost all of them), but there are some bugs, gadget featured music in the cloud is 5 years out of date, also Bilbao has issues recently with saving samples to new user banks, but those created prior to recent updates were working fine, im sure they will fix these things eventually, some are more important to fix than others..Version: 4.6.19

This is the best appI've bought and used several music production apps. So far this is great, since I have purchased all the gadgets the possibilities are endless. Combined with Korg tactile triton is just magic. The only glitch is that working with the iPad 2 sometimes it can't handle the sounds, the app takes too much cpu. I need to upgrade my iPad :(. This app is just amazing👍👍👍👍👍👍.Version: 1.2.4

EssentialI've used Korg Gadget regularly and enthusiastically since it was released in 2014. During that time a steady stream of additional gadgets and sound packs has regularly increased the tonal palette, while staying true to its mission: give users a powerful composition tool that can be accessed via a clean intuitive interface entirely on a touchscreen tablet. The closed system works for Korg because they don't have to dedicate huge resources to be compatible with a zillion 3rd party plugins or applications. It works for users because the interface remains manageable and clean, and we don't have to wait weeks or months for an update with every version of IOS or iPadOS, followed by additional weeks/months while they sort out all the 3rd party compatibility issues. I use a DAW for production. I use Gadget for composition and inspiration - any time, any place - just me and my iPad..Version: 4.7.0

Great timesI think that no one will enjoy every thing this gives you, but over half of them I’ve gotten looots of enjoyment out of. Just the Keyboard app alone is probably worth what I spent on it. Highly recommend..Version: 3.5.3

The best iPhone or iPad app ever!I have been a devoted korg user for Year’s. I started with a i5s midi backing sequencer and later got into KORG legacy cell on pc. But this app is the best thing they have come up with. It’s a complete sequencing station with all the great quality sound I’ve come to love from KORG. I do have to get an iPad due to the iPhone 5s’s small screen. But I find it so easy to create and complete tracks totally in app. I do have ableton live 9 but I prefer relying totally on the app and exporting the audio. I payed $200 (ruffly) with the in app purchases. I just wish there was a pc version. I’d pay the same again if they did that..Version: 3.5.1

AstonishingAstonishing ease of use, astonishing complexity and deep visual editing of any parameter. + Pairing with korg hardware controllers with instant setup. And dont get me started on V3 I’ve produced many many tracks with 1&2 had my old favorite synths at my finger tips along with the iconic sounds of the M1 resampled into other gadgets. But v3 isnt just a pretty reskinning. The interface weirdnesses have been reworked to allow THE BEST experience and SOUND of dance music production I’ve ever had in any DAW IOS or Desktop. The only small gripes are the long form recording of an entire vocal. And lack of pitch correction (pitch shift is covered) for the same. Small concerns: Regarding the 6.00 version update. in the new loop sampler theres a small bug in the output sometimes that produces a high pitch whining tone after playing a user sample. There might be some way to warn users of an IPADs CPU and memory use for using too many effects plugins which eventually if you are a greedy user with massive track effects added will crash the playback..Version: 6.0.0

New updateAmazing update. The only thing that disappointed me so far is that the gadgets I paid for and which I use the most like Lexington & Montpellier are not available as auv3. I hope they also get added as auv3s in next update. Apart from that big thumbs up!.Version: 6.0.0

Powerful with flexibilityAs good as any DAW with time and effort you can do just about anything. The ability to drop in your own WAV’s opens so many new possibilities. Integration with other devices such as Bluetooth midi/audio is easy and smooth and you can link to other synth apps easily. I’ve created various genre music from lush and warm ambient soundscapes to harsh hard hitting lo-fi synth pop. It covers so much ground. Some say the gadgets are limited and individually they can be within a narrow genre but there are so many of them and in many different combinations this becomes irrelevant. I own many Korg hardware products (2 Electribe 2’s, Kaoss Pad 3+, kaossilator pro, Pandora Stomp) and have owned a few synths such as the Triton, X5, X3, X50, DS8 and Kingkorg. Gadgets has quite a lot of the above covered for a fraction of the cost..Version: 4.0.3

Gadget...An excellent sketchpad, get all the extra bits. I wish you could make it clip based instead for each individual track to make polyrhythms, that there was an overdrive on each channel and the clips could be arranged in song mode, but each individual track has the option of export and that is good enough. I will one day wander the wilderness with my iPad pro in hand, making music everywhere and anywhere..Version: 3.5.4

Best Sound, Easy to use,This app is a must. Very easy to use. All the sounds are Great. The User interface is simple to use and let us create freely..Version: 4.6.21

The best iOS music appOverall I’d have to say that Gadget is what keeps me coming back to my iPad for music production. It keeps getting better and the ease of use and quality are great. Also the price point of the add on‘s ate very fair and a really good value. Audio tracks are available but very limited on editing, still doesn’t stop you from loading and sequencing samples in a very quick easy way. I’m very very happy with Gadget, it’s my favourite app..Version: 4.5.2

Absolutely the best app to get song ideas downMost of my music originates here. Great that it so easily translates to Ableton. Great that the sounds are interesting and inspiring. Great that at extra cost you can get more classic sounds. Not cheap but then I really appreciate what it enables me to do, so high value for money, certainly at sale price..Version: 3.5.1

AwesomeAlthough I would love to see options like midi out and audio tracks implemented at some stage, gadget is still an amazing little app. For my preferred workflow it has the best midi input mode of any iOS music app.Version: 2.1.2

Super good - even on an iPad2When this first came out, there were lots of promises and it was a bit clunky. Zoom forward and it's a different story. You can automate easily (even if curve drawing is a bit freehand) and I have used it to control my vintage Wavestation SR. Works a treat. One reason for four stars is the loop/song switching. Much better to use existing track building system on the MS 20 app ? Also there is no export to Gadget for MAC ? Otherwise buy it. No regrets for sure..Version: 4.5.5

Not so secret weaponWhat can I say. Don’t buy it, it’s terrible, the portability of idevices is tough right, as is the arsenal of synths & drum machine/samplers korg has dropped on us. You can even touch them. They purr. Some scream. Most moan or sigh. All of which actually do what you ask them to do, without complaining & manage to look good while accomodating you. Not an easy task in today’s crowded dirty day clubs. Please don’t misunderstand me when I say The word dirty, I mean it! This app is so dirty you’ll clean house & only want to hang out with gadg & who would blame you ??? Not me you cheeky cassuary hey !!! Keep my good eye on you I will, in the mean time I’ve experimented with a lot of hard things posing at the real deal only to be a toy or really handy if used as a door stop!.Version: 3.7.2

Simply amazingHard to find a better app on iPad who is more easy to use and gives you instant music making..Version: 3.6.1

Great SoundThis is an excellent step sequencer. It has many synthesisers or "gadgets" which can be put on different tracks and it is easy to produce songs or backing tracks. There are several different drum machines to suit differing tastes. I can compose on it too. There is now a recording gadget as well. I will say that to seek support on a small issue I have been sent on a wild gooses chase..Version: 3.0.1

Never ever stop development on this app.By far the most productive I have ever been in almost 30 years of writing music. The workflow is simple and quick and the gadgets are top quality for their complexity. If I had one major critique, it’s that the iCloud file system could be a little more robust. I had built up a nice file structure for some Bilbao samples in my iCloud and discovered that gadget wouldn’t actually see the samples until I imported them from within the app, essentially making duplicates in the cloud. Other than that, would love to see a Triton gadget (I know there’s a sound pack in module, but it’s not the same).Version: 4.6.25

NiceGreat app, I have had no issues and it runs like a dream on ipad4. Regarding scales though I would prefer it if they were customizable..Version: 1.1.2

Great sounds! Great Sequencer!Really intuitive, thoroughly enjoying this app and with the "in scale" keyboard makes for even more fun making music, I'm surprised there are not more reviews for this app. It's great! Couple of things need attention, Audiobus does work but you must load Gadget via the Audiobus store, please fix as I can see myself using this on a plane with no internet :/. One more thing, please please please add audio tracks with adding available via iTunes. I'm sure not an easy task but if had beat detectable capabilities as simple as GarageBand iOS this would be it for me on iOS and many others looking to jam with loops in there sample library. Cheers..Version: 1.0.2

Can’t recommend enoughCheck out my track “Lunar Soldier” by TLV SEVRUN on YouTube. I’m still blown away I can produce this level of music on my iPad..Version: 4.6.32

One of best music apps out there!I never review apps as they are usually all disappointing this however is exceptional on all levels. Worth every penny of purchase price with upgrades..Version: 3.7.2

Best App on iOS. Period.V3 is an Amazing DAW. KILLER job korg and huge thanks for giving the fans 3 new gadgets at no cost. Now to add Dropbox sample import to all currently unsupported gadgets and to FINALLY support all korg iOS apps within gadet. I'm looking at you IMS-20, IPolysix and whatever else in not integrated. Hell. maybe even the ability record into gadget via Audiobus would be mind blowing. Either way you guys got something special and amazing here. Just keep giving the fans what they want and need and you're golden. I'll buy every korg app on iOS if you add these features. Also Recife needs audio import and an auto/ manual slicer mode. Load one sample thy gets applied across all 16 pads. 🔥🚨🔥🌭🥞🍕🥓😳.Version: 3.0.1

Last update suckedThe last update completely erased full tracks. Set some tracks back to an old unsaved version. Totally unacceptable. Such disappointment. And still no pc version. Fail.Version: 4.2.0

Music as a GameLove this app. Have it for Switch and iOS. It makes music creation into a co-op game like experience. Sure it’s slightly limited. However those limitations are there to keep the creation process flowing. Having too many little functions and processing abilities would distract from this app’s true purpose... Music creation as a fun, easy and co-operative experience. Anyone complaining about the app is likely expecting it to function like a DAW on their Mac. If that’s what you’re looking for then download Cubasis or Auria Pro. This app is designed to make music creation fun and intuitive. It’s definitely not designed to replace your Pro Tools rig. Make music quickly, collaborate and first and foremost, have fun. Gadget 2 does this perfectly. Thanks Korg.Version: 4.1.0

So dope.So so dope..Version: 4.6.30

Outstanding but no midi outI’ve written so much great music using this over the past few years but I’m stuck now because I can’t drive external synths. It’s pretty much stopped me taking my project further. What IS the issue Korg have about not implementing MIDI out? Come on guys.. at least tell us why..Version: 3.7.1

Great, but…..…. When recording into another app (GarageBand, Cubasis 3) there is always a short delay before the recording starts. I have tried routing through Audiobus and AUM, tried every setting that effects latency, recorded into GarageBand and Cubasis, nothing has changed the short gap, it’s always there. Please devs look into this. I love sketching ideas in Gadget but want to record into another DAW to add record vocals on the go. This delay makes this very annoying as I always have to correct it after r3cording..Version: 4.6.27

IPhone Draw backsI’ve had this since it first came out & I still use it all the time. I love it. 5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟I’ve bought all available Gadgets available on iPhone. My issue with this is that I can’t get ims-20 or iM1 or poly6 on iPhone or the gadget variants. Please KORG I want my M1 in gadget nowwww please 🤞🏼🙏🏼. I’ve got it on pc but I don’t want to buy an iPad to play it in gadget. Please fix this KORG. Edit;) Guys could you get someone to look into midi integration with other brands of controller, I can’t figure out how to map my Arturia keylab49 pads to work the drum gadgets 😩, that’s why I upgraded from the keylab25. There’s nothing online to help for this. Please help 🤞🏼🙏🏼🙌🏻.Version: 4.5.3

Why not?The $79 you’ll put into decking this thing out will be easily less money then you will spend on even one decent guitar pedal and you will get so much more mileage out of it. Combine it with AudioBus and other recording software and it becomes a powerful and crucial tool in any recording process you have. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking this is just a toy, it can sample, record and arrange with the best of them. My one ask is that it have more in track filters, but at that point we’re no longer looking for gadgets we’re wanting an entire program for recording and sequencing. out.Version: 4.6.8

Pure MagicI've succumbed to the purchase of a multitude of synth apps over the years. Some are good, some are...mistakes. Korg Gadget is the one I keep coming back to, for its inspiring range of sounds and its flexibility and power as am iOS sound engine. One of the best features of Gadget is its ability to map individual MIDI channels to specific instruments, and not just specific instruments but specific sounds within those instruments. This opens up immense sonic possibilities when you incorporate other apps within your workflow. For instance, get the Reflektions app and use it to drive generative ambient soundscapes by mapping it to eight different Korg gadgets. This alone makes Gadget worth the purchase! If you want to explore digital music and the universe of possible sounds on your iPad, Korg Gadget is the perfect place to start..Version: 3.7.2

Excellent mobile DAWOriginally purchased this to sequence some external gear via USB MIDI after getting annoyed with clunky hardware sequencers. It performed the role of midi sequencer flawlessly for me when attached via a USB multi hub, think I only had one issue with a stuck note once. The touch interface works really well for editing the piano roll, more so with the Apple Pencil as it allows you to really get in there and make fine adjustments. I’ve started using the app more and more standalone as a way to quickly input ideas I have on the go, it is excellent in that respect too. You have loads of tracks to play with and a simple but serviceable mixing interface with some basic effects thrown in. It has replaced my hardware Grooveboxes for that role completely, paired with a external MIDI keyboard + pad controller it’s really enjoyable to play and edit with!.Version: 4.6.25

Great AppGreat app , has a few shortcomings as have been mentioned in previous reviews, but all in all very pleased.Version: 4.6.8

The grand Gadget 2 Review🖖🏻Well done Korg, Gadget 2 is looking up so don’t stop. The initial offering price was a stroke of genius, couldn’t have resisted given this special price. Have owned and still love all the Korg keyboards I played such as the Polysix, DSS-1, Triton and others. The reason 4 stars was offered for this new release instead of 5, was certainly not due to any lack of effort by the Korg programmers (the Korg sonic quality is thankfully still intact), but...If...only Korg could envision the wisdom of reducing the prices of the many other gadgets and instruments that were -not- included with G2, during this same introductory period, with ‘special’ discounts of their own, well then laddies, could you imagine how many of us would immediately attempt to dig as deeply as possible to add not merely one, but -several- of those additional gadgets/instruments sitting there alone in the iOS shoppe? Such a grand, generous gesture by Korg to so many loyal musicians would generate good will, and surely have the competition’s marketing departments hanging their heads shame. A bit of extra income would give Korg more time and incentive to remain hard at work on the next batch of improvements we need! 🎹🎼🎶😎.Version: 4.0.0

A must have for any musicianSo easy to use for a beginner, also so much you can do if you know how to use it. So is perfect for all levels. The sounds are fantastic. My only down side was not enough guitar sounds or samples. I would love a guitar generator gadget. Apart from that any instrument or sound you can think off is there. It won’t disappoint..Version: 4.0.0

DisappointingI had gadget 2 installed on my iPad ,I brought a few of the gadgets ,brought the Darwin extra sound packs ,brought the sound packs for the ids 10 too, my son broke the iPad and now I can’t redownload my gadgets with Wi-Fi transfer ,it’s impossible to get in contact with korg ,I would like a refund or to be able to restore my paid for items ,they are expensive and I don’t want to spend the money again …….Version: 4.6.24

I love this app, BUT...I bought the full version for Mac and I would like to be able to open projects that I started on my phone into Korg Gadget for Mac and finish them there. If this feature exists please let me know how I can do it. I also feel like if you own the full version on Mac you should get all the gadgets on the iOS app. I also want better bouncing to pro-tools and a dedicated undo button. Other than these things, I enjoy this app quite a bit. But please allow us to send projects from our phones to the desktop app. That would change my whole life! Thanks guys!.Version: 3.7.2

4.6 stars . A good purchaseI'm very positively surprised from my experience with this app. I would add some features such as convert a midi channel to audio channel(not via 3rd party), export all channels separately in one click, add multiple audio file to the same audio loop (and some more), But generally there's a very great balance between simplicity and functionality. I plug my midi controller and have tons of fun. Now my rig is portable too. And when in school I continue my work on my phone which is something I could never do before. I Wish for more free gadgets and some more improvements, but would highly recommend to purchase..Version: 3.0.1

IMOThis app is so good, beginners can find their feet fairly quickly and experienced players will be amazed at how far you can push your iPad. To put it simply my laptop is probably well over due a windows update because of all the time it's been off and this has been on. Amazing value for money. Korg..... big thanks well done..Version: 3.5.1

Missing ZurichJust purchased this and Zurich is not in the app. I guess they had problems with recording but I though it was fixed. Did they just take it out instead? Looking further it looks like they took all the audio gadgets out. They’re shown in the pictures of the app. Are they going to put them back in? Also Glasgow is supposed to have all these sounds in it but only has one string sound. Everything else is grayed out? Seems the missing gadgets showed up today. Not sure why they weren’t in there before. Updated my review. Great sounds..Version: 4.6.8

Classic! Still great after all these years! An iOS staple, must have! Hope Gadget 3 is happening!.Version: 4.7.4

I make music again!I’ve had it all. Computer gear and daws, hardware, iOS daws. Gadget is the one for me. What makes this app so special to me is the simple no frills approach. What this this app makes lacks in bells and whistles, it makes up with its wonderful “gadgets”. They’re like synths, but a little more user friendly. Most apps only have two very small screens to navigate through. There are more advanced apps you can get that’ll get you gagitized versions with more advanced controls. The bottom line though, is this app gives you just about every sound you could ever need, the ability to use your own samples, easy sound design, and a SUPER simple, yet deceptively powerful loop based sequencer. I haven’t even begun to even use Gadget to its full abilities but I’m having so much fun making music again! With AUM and Gadget... I could never update my iPad again and make music forever with what I have..Version: 4.5.3

Outstanding Portable DAWI love this app. I use it almost every day. It's allowed me to get back into making music which is brining me lots of joy. The synths are great, the system very good. Is it perfect? No, but for a mobile app it's wonderful..Version: 2.9.0

Great sound, songwriting. Needs performance tools.Excellent sounds and synth tools. Even easy enough to write songs in this environment. I’d really like it to have some performance tools. Even GarageBand, a free app, has LiveLoops. I don’t even need this to be another clip launcher app, but that would be cool. The Scenes are fine for that, but if there were some better ways to use this in a performance setting that would be appreciated. Possibly shrink down the scenes into square buttons in live mode so it would be easier to fit more onto one screen for triggering. Also, some live FX and mixing tools would be great. GarageBand now has this down. Kaosspad stuff, etc. finally, midi out would be helpful from the sequenced tracks...I have a lot of Korg synths I’d like to use with it live. Generally very happy here, it just needs a little more for the money this costs..Version: 3.5.2

One of the only apps you needIve been a fruity loops user from day one and this program blows fl studio out of the water. Ive downloaded many synthesizers and this app contains so many synths with epic sounds you could just have an ipad and Gadget on a desert island and you'd never be bored. Ok. I'll calm down now..Version: 3.3.2

Gidget... was a show in the '60s. Gadget, however, is THE show of the, um, uh, well ... whatever this decade is to be known as. Though the guitar sounds leave much to be desired (I actually prefer the guitar in iKaossilator!), Gadget really is something special. Why there's no playable X-Y pad is beyond me, but Gadget is awfully cool anyway. And although I do wish Korg hadn’t seen fit to take out the ability to rename tracks when they slapped a “2” on it, this tool really does outperform everything else. If only they hadn't forgotten to add in changing keys on the fly ala iKaossilator..Version: 4.3.0

Project Folders PleaseI’ve been using Gadget for years now and It’s my favourite music making app. Because I have so much work inside Gadget it’s important for me to stay organised. Unfortunately my many projects are in one long list regardless if they are finished, or belonging to different albums etc. This is a 5 star app regardless, but please make a longtime user happy with a simple feature ;).Version: 4.5.3

Good Lord, Gadget has AU3!Just when it seemed that Gadget was shuffling off toward the graveyard of IAA apps, Korg finally woke up and added AU3. Not just for the whole shebang, but for individual modules. So now I can use the excellent sounds of Gladstone (drums) and Madrid (bass) along with newcomer SantaAnna (rhythm guitar) separately or together under AUM. Working within Gadget itself, the new category search is also brilliant, really helpful for auditioning sounds. What a great start to the year!.Version: 6.0.0

Excellent!Great app! easy to use, great sounds, look forward to more modules becoming available. two issues: firstly, when duplicating scenes and reordering it is difficult to distinguish which is which - it would be nice to be able to rename them ("verse, chorus 1, chorus 2, etc) or assign colours or something in the alexandria module, on assigning the rotaion function to a MIDI channel for a footswitch (e.g. CC64) it should toggle between fast and slow (as in the organs in korg module, and as on a hammond B3 etc). instead, it toggles between fast and stopped..Version: 1.3.1

Great Deal for quality and quantityYou get a ton of high quality synths and other thingies. I send in MIDI to control multiple gadgets. Now with the new Taipei midi out gadget, you can add any external sound source, whether hardware or synth as a gadget. If you do the math, you will see how cheap each gadget is. Synths, Samplers, every type of sounds. And that piano roll! Man, what a treat!!! Korg is pricing gadget soooo fairly. You want it. No possible regrets. Get gadget and have so much fun..Version: 4.2.2

Impressive!THIS app IS worth having! I don't usually write reviews, but occasionally, be it positive or negative, I'll write one. Especially if I feel strongly about something. I've had this app for a while and have played with it on and off, and now I've rediscovered it! I love that it's similar to the 'Ableton' approach in that you're working in 'cells' of music. Once you understand the basic operation of the app, your creativity can run wild with a wide array of useful and fun sounds. Anything from fat bass lines, to gentle pad sweeps, to funky drum grooves can be achieved. You can also modulate all of these sounds quite easily and on the fly to really spice things up. Where my mind was blown was the exporting option, via Dropbox, right into Ableton itself (with a few clicks). AWESOME! Again, the sounds are super and of course your world really opens up then. I've now been able to create sounds that previously were challenging, right from my iPad and it's refreshed my whole approach to writing directly this way. The app is not perfect but it's absolutely on the right track and worth your hard earned... Look into it!.Version: 1.1

Nice new changesBravo Korg! You have emerged finally into the world of Audio Units! I can now use the many IAPs I’ve purchased over the years in other DAWS like Cubasis and GarageBand. I also appreciate that some of the purchases I make in Module translate into available machines in Gadget. It’s still too fiddly on my new iPhone 15 so thank goodness I have an iPad to create my music..Version: 6.0.1

Brilliant starting point!Amazing app! As someone who uses hardware and software for production, this app might just make a few bits of gear redundant. There is some features I hope to see in future updates, mainly an "Undo" function, zoom ability and a "select all" function in piano roll. Copying and pasting clips would be handy too and renaming channels. Apart from that, amazing sounds, great workflow, brilliant effects and finding automation lanes was a massive bonus!.Version: 1.0.1

The Best for iOS Music MakingQuite simply this App is immense. KORG literally dominate. This is a professional DAW, it gets improvements and updates regularly. Fingers crossed now there’s a Gadgetised ELECTRIBE WAVE on here, they’ll do the right thing and give the same treatment to the original ELECTRIBE app and iKAOSSILATOR (don’t forget the landscape view mode KORG). Other things I hope we’ll get to see soon would be ‘MIDI learn’ for scene launching and clip launching, and also for Switching between full screen Gadgets in real-time. A live loop launcher with one-shots etc, in the vein of Launchpad/Ableton etc would be cool too, and also AUv3 then we’ll have a fully fledged LIVE beast on our hands too. If GarageBand can do it, then for KORG it’ll be a doddle. Come on KORG you know it makes sense! Amazing. If I could give this app 6 or more stars I would. I guess I’ll just have to keep giving my money to them instead....Version: 4.5.0

FantasticThis app gets better with every major update, a real joy to use!.Version: 2.5.6

It doesn't get any better than Gadget 2Gadget is the iPad equivalent of Reason but with the advantages of a touch interface. Two things stand out with gadget that help slipstream the creative process: 1: The scene sequencer layout. It's a breath of fresh air after being tied to conventional sequencer layouts forever. With Gadget I can start and finish things in a consistent way. I own Cubasis too and it's great for mobile music making but I tend not to finish tracks with it. The conventional interface impedes me. Gadget inspires and let's you build complex pieces from start to finish without getting in your way. 2: The synthesizers and the short travel distance. An incredible array of synths and every parameter recordable and editable with the draw of a finger. What I have found is that Gadget has reignited my desire to build my own patches. With other apps I use presets. With gadget I start with a preset and modify it in real time as the music plays. If there was a desktop synth using the same sequencer method as Gadget I would buy it. Gadget is my go-to music workstation now and I love it. Auv3 FX would be nice because the in built FX are limited compared to 3rd party au. Allow FX on master channel? You can find my Gadget tracks on SoundCloud = zentric egg.Version: 4.2.0

My favourite music-making thing ever.Just saying..Version: 1.2.3

Great appA very nice app, it would be even better if they put the polysix etc into it as well. I find it quite useful for fleshing out basic ideas due to the ease of use and amount of synths..Version: 1.2.2

Bad updateAfter the last update I am now being charged again for samplers I brought over a year Please help!.Version: 1.2.3

Best app everI love this app more than any other.Version: 4.5.3

Amazing audioGadget is simply the best audio app, well worth the price, and the update is welcome, but the two AIP together is about half the price again of the full app. would be nice to add an electribe in as well, i still have my actual little korg electirbe. And would love some more trance sounds and effects from those classic korgs synths. A mastering track/channel with effects would be nice..Version: 1.0.3

The best music app I have ever usedKorg gadget allows me to freely make music in a flash. It enables me to create any idea , edit any automation , sync my midi, computers and tablets , to create complex music that feeds my soul. It isn’t a consequence . When I was 10 years old I played my first Korg keyboard . The M1. Then the wavestation . And when I could finally afford a amazing synth , I was in my early twenties and I bought a triton. And the rest is history. When I first used Korg gadget , I instantly knew it was designed by musicians and producers , for musicians and producers . My latest new Korg synth is a wavestate. It works amazing with gadget. Highly recommend . I bet it will be the top Daw in 3 years !.Version: 4.6.9

Please improve copy/paste tracks between scenes. Please!Importing a midi file into Gadget has become so much better. Because of that I’ll add another star! Thanks to the Gadget team! Another improvement that I love, being able to transpose selected notes in the piano view. This is a big improvement and adds to a great workflow. The next major improvement is the copy/paste of bars. Moving a bar from one scene to another deletes the previous bars in that scene. Gadget needs to be better at nondestructively moving around bars to different scenes. I should be able to either prepare a place to copy the information or Gadget should ask where to place it (what bar and beat) and built out the existing bar as needed. It doesn’t have to be fine tuned. Just let me copy over one or two bars nondestructively to another scene and I’ll be able to edit the rest as needed. Freedom with editing is what takes a DAW from being a toy to being a useful creative tool. Another improvement, please update the manuals. There are features people need to know about that make Korg Gadget 2 one of the best iOS DAWs. Lastly, Gadget is such a great tool. The sounds, flexibility, and features make it the top DAW for feeding your creativity. My only other request for future expansion would be more acoustic drum and bass Gadgets along with another guitar amp modeling Gadget. Add that with IR importing would be even better!.Version: 4.1.0

Life changerThis app came to me too late in my life. Better late than never. Very intuitive and friendly user experience. Great truck load of sounds to play with. I use this as a go anywhere writing tool. In that regard it has truely changed my life. Enjoy!.Version: 4.5.5

Great.I have run whole bands off this app. MIDI out. Ableton out. Raw audio out. Even sampling other apps. In my experience if you are learning about sequencing or synths or midi or Ableton or whatever this is the perfect iOS companion..Version: 2.1.2

A revelationI started recording music with hardware synths and 4-track tape up to DAW's like logic and pro tools and for me this is the best collection of plugins and the most user friendly set up I have ever experienced. It is designed to get you creating right away. A sonic work flow behind any other . Some of the highest quality soft synths I have ever used ( I'm an analog junkie) I can't believe what you get for the price and what kind of music I can now make on my IPad. Within minutes I had a groovy track and was jamming along on my hardware synth to the fanfare . For any iOS user that produces music this is a must buy . Maybe it's not for everyone but it's definitely for me . Try it!.Version: 3.3.2

KORG's great addition to APP StoreThis is a programme for those who love synthesizer music and is fantastic for those wanting to compose some of their own music. The various gadgets have great musically useable sounds and a very good interface to do that with. Gadget also has a SoundCloud facility so you can listen to what others are doing and/or upload your own creations. This is without doubt the best music APP going. I'm totally enthusiastic about this programme. Well done KORG's..Version: 1.1.2

Nearly perfectThis is an amazingly good daw and/or sound module. Try the free version for evidence of this. The daw element is remarkably intuitive. The included gadgets are very good but the IAP’s are good value and better quality (imo) The addition of audio and midi control of other apps make it my go to virtual studio but, and for me it’s a big but, why limit each scene to 16 bars ? I often record (particularly) audio that ‘rings out’ from , for example, verse into chorus. As it is all the sound stops before the next scene begins. I havnt found a work around. If it wasn’t for this I would give it 5 stars . I hope korg are listening and are able to fix this limitation..Version: 4.5.5

I love Korg. 😎So... this is an amazing daw. However, it could be better. What it does well: excellent sound quality. Signature classic synths, easy to use interface. Lots of options you literally don't need any other daw, has audio input for guitar, vocals, etc... it's a beautiful feature rich daw by a brand that has a legacy that is 2nd to none. Where it needs to improve: while the interface is unique... it is also counter intuitive to all other daws, the scroll down feature instead of left to right does not feel natural. While they try to separate themselves and stand out It's not an improvement and it feels like a struggle to visualize where things go. If this is your first daw it won't matter but when you try one in landscape you will say... " oh wow...this makes more sense." It really disrupts the flow. There is no counter, at least not one I could find that tells me song length, so I have to use a stop watch on my phone to see how long my song is? That seems like a basic feature..Version: 3.3.2

Love it, but my $40 in-app purchase just disappeared. Please fix this Korg, I feel ripped of!.Version: 4.6.5

Good for Urban Music Production - needs a bit moreI have been using v3.3.2 for a few weeks now and I really like it. My first degree is in Recording Arts (now I work in electrical engineering) and I have owned quite a bit of music gear. Now that I am making room for children and making music less of a priority, I really needed a more compact solution for music production - Gadget (paired with a Korg NanoKey Studio controller) has been a great compromise. My only complaints are in how irritating it can be to work with pre-recorded loops. Even with Bilbao and Abu Dhabi (an MPC-style sampler and a loop "mangler") loops aren't as straight forward as one would expect. When I work with loops, features like auto-chop and time-stretch can be really helpful. I would also love a way to record audio tracks - but this can be done in other software. For the price, Gadget is totally worth it - but, if Korg wants to help me out with the loops thing, that'd be great;).Version: 3.3.2

This is my favourite music appI've tried them all it seems, and now I pretty much only have this, along with the Odyssei and iWAVESTATION. A little pricey, but it's got everything I'd want and more from a synth app. I love that it's universal across iPad and iPhone. All of the patches and projects sync across iCloud. It's also way more powerful than you can imagine. What really makes this app shine though is how well it compliments my Ableton setup. I find myself using it constantly with Ableton Link and can't wait to get the Mac version upon release. Korg listens to their users. It seems like it's an app that's always being improved upon. For all these reasons and more, I have no problem paying a premium price for an app when I don't feel that I'm compromising. Thanks Korg!.Version: 2.9.2

Brilliant funFantastic sounds, intuitive workflow. Needs landscape mode, a way to import samples and an audio recording function to be truly useful. As it stands, its perfect for non-vocal electronic music production. The built-in synths cover a wide sonic palette, and the sequencing is fast and fun..Version: 1.0.1

It's just coolFor a beginner like myself, it just an awesome way to learn the ins and outs of lots of different types of audio creation, from sampling to creating bass lines and drum patterns and much more besides. It's also a perfect way to kind of road test types of hardware before shelling out on the real thing (even tho they aren't real world instruments, it's not hard to suss out what each one represents). It's basically a no-brainier if you want to explore iPad music creation..Version: 3.5.1

Still the bestI gave a previous harsh review as I was frustrated that Korg seems to have given up on the iPad and are only releasing new sound packs. While I would still like to see the wonderful Korg synths and even the gadgets as AUv3’s, gadget itself is still a very creative production environment and the synths are the best sounding. Even allowing AUv3 effects to be loaded in gadget would be massive as that would open up so many more options. I hope we will see a Gadget 3 someday..Version: 4.6.27

Educative and professionalPerfect inter generational creative music production station easy and intuitive for everyone to learn and well designed instruments to craft beautiful sound worlds.Version: 6.0.1

Classic stuff!Such a good balance point between quick sound programming and sculpting the sound you want. And everything sounds so good! Personally Phoenix is my favourite subtractive synth of any kind! Beautiful! Instant love for this app, and it just makes you make music, I'm instantly making tracks because I don't get bogged down in sound design. Really excited about what the future holds, keep it up!.Version: 1.0.1

Perfect for catching your inspirationI don’t currently have access to any of my pro music gear, just an iPad and some music apps. Korg Gadget is far and away the best all-in-one music production app out there. It definitely leans towards the electronica/EDM end of the spectrum but that’s ideal for a synth head like me. Great synths, samples and effects all in one place and a very straightforward pattern and song sequencer..Version: 4.6.25

Still an amazing experience!I’ve written a review before, so my ratings should be very similar. This app continues to be a complete MONSTER and since I got an iPad, I can finally use Darwin. However, the prices are costly and would recommend buying during a sale. Especially for other apps, as they’re about $30 and this is $40 for a base pack. Other than that, you’ll somehow get lost in such a massive workstation that you’ll end up with one gadget for weeks because there’s so much to control! Hopefully other KORG apps become gadgets, as I would buy those for more expandability. The only things missing are additive synthesis and FM synthesis. If we could get something like that, I’d gladly pay out $30..Version: 3.5.3

Korg FanI love this company, their creativity and engineering is top in the EDM industry in my opinion. This app is no exception, I love this program. I own Nanostudio 2, Cubasis, Fruity Loops is still awful for ipad (even after the update) and i constantly find myself coming back to this program to easily lay down my ideas and most of all to enjoy the experience. The quality of the tools and instruments are outstanding. This is the most intuitive program to me, don’t hesitate with this one. Korg, I’d love to see a Kaoss pad feature or addon, thank you..Version: 4.0.2

Really amazing!I have only begun to explore the power of this DAW. The amount of drum machines and synth apps you get included in this app is mind boggling...and they are all Korg super machines! Each included Gadget has its own unique properties and sounds...it really is a pleasure to explore. The price is steep but well worth it! I got mine 50% off for Black Friday ☺️ In the iPhone the user interface is very difficult to see, so bring your reading glasses and the way the tracks are stacked was odd to figure out that they were not just loops, but tracks stacked on one another and gadgets side by side. Once you figure that out recording becomes easy, but I still haven't figured out how to advance the cursor to specific areas without hitting play and waiting for it to hit the mark you want. There is a learning curve, but it's not impossible to figure out..Version: 3.5.2

A solid mobile DAWI purchased KORG Gadget as a complete newcomer to digital audio workstations. After a slight learning curve, I was pleased to find a very full-featured program that was simple and convenient to use. I particularly like how the gadgets themselves group sounds and samples to make it easy to find the vibe you’re looking for. If I have one complaint, it’s that this program has a limited release to other platforms. I would love to be able to work on songs either at home on PC or on the go on my tablet..Version: 4.6.21

I use it a lot with other apps. You can find fun ways to make your iPad a toy with connecting other music making apps- to it. And midi works really well..Version: 4.6.9

KORG GAGET~Getting better and betterI have most of the synthesizers but I’m noticing there are quite a few new ones that I’ll have to get they’re pricey but once you get them opened up and you start experimenting with them at some well worth the expense so I think I will be purchasing all of the gadgets that are for all of the synthesizers that are offered in the series quite useful and the learning curve are simplified or it could be just my interest in the synthesizers themselves 25 thumbs up 👍💥💫👍👍👍👍👍👍go gadget.Version: 4.6.21

KORG Gadget 2 (v4.0.0) - Fix UI ColorsKorg Gadget is easily one of my all time favourite music production apps. The sounds are fun, musical, and great quality as well! This new update introduces some welcome additions to Gadget but one that I am not a fan of is the new dark blue gradient background in the UI. Please add an option to bring back to a solid background! This gradient makes the overall visibility very poor compared to the old solid background..Version: 4.0.0

Update it!I can't restore my PURCHASED gadgets please fix this.Version: 3.0.1

Kong GadgetLove it! It's like virtual Volcas. Lots of hidden depths to this app but all very intuitive. It's an essential part of my workflow now..Version: 2.9.0

Really great app digital musicReally good app for combining several musical "skills", depth of features and instruments and configs make it fun to explore, the additional instruments are well worth the it... Once I got into it and could afford them... Hope there's more bundles coming soon..Version: 1.2.2

Synthesiser Museum!I love this app, especially the re-created vintage synths. My only issue is that the buffering can be inadequate if you play a fairly busy music piece..Version: 2.9.0

Get itIt makes you sound good. Easy to use so less time figuring out how the tool works and more time creating. Very robust. I can't think of a time it crashed. Also some very cool instruments. Worth every penny..Version: 2.1.2

Brilliant, love itAfter getting bogged down with too much choice on my main computer along comes this awesome sketch pad with loads of excellent sounding gadgets, I can’t put it down and can’t remember the last time I was so productive. Great job Korg!.Version: 3.7.2

Not impressed with Vancouver or Abu Dhabi gadgets. This app is ok but limited. I thought it was possible to import wav files from Dropbox into Vancouver and Abu Dhabi but I was wrong, it doesn’t work so I’m limited to just the factory samples. This has made me reluctant to buy any more IAPs as I’ve no idea whether they’ll be worth it..Version: 4.5.0

Needs more ArPeggiosI recently re-purchased this app after a four year hiatus and have to say Korg knew how to make this App a lot of Fun. It inspires me to write songs on my other hardware instruments And is always a blast to create new beats. A few things though. A lot of the gadget sounds are repetitive from gadget to gadget. I would like to see more organic sounding gadgets. I think Roland XM Junos had super realistic guitar strumming sounds you could control by using the expression wheels. Something like this or a programmable Arpeggio tool would make this app stellar, but it is fun. I also bought the NanoKey and that makes it awesome too, but would love to have more control of the app with the nanoKey..Version: 4.6.30

Great Fast Intuitive DAWA favourite . Keep developing for this ecosystem and I’ll keep buying whatever you put out !.Version: 4.6.16

Gadget is a RUSHReally like the different Gadget synths and drum machines. There is a nice assortment of instruments here. The different tools and layout are nice. App makes creating song parts easy. Korg really keeps things simple and not so convoluted. One issue I had: Importing samples and midi could be a lot more streamlined. Please make a special Korg sampling tool to screen record stereo samples that import with ease in wav and Rex format. Please develop better sample import and file management from various options and source apps within Gadget. This is tedious and limiting as it is as far as importing user samples especially without a wav to Rex file converter. I have had difficulty importing Rex files even after research. A better and simple yet innovative and visual way to grab samples quickly would really make this experience better. I’m being nitpicking for sure, but I’m really trying to give good feedback. Please include a “guitar” gadget with sounds that are a bit more convincing and cover more of the nuances of the instrument. And for Stockholm, please make a dedicate App for creating, managing, auditioning and converting Rex2 files..Version: 4.5.5

Trouble (fixed!- user error)Just updated and now all my gadgets are gone.. restoring purchases doesn’t work :( My bad - I was trying to open the gadgets list on an audio track and all the other gadgets were not showing.. lesson learned.. :).Version: 4.5.1

Time for some updates! There are numerous reviews asking for updates to enhance workflow and make the app better. There hasn’t been any changes yet just sound packs. Apps like Zenbeats have a lot of cool features that can be included or incorporated into gadget to make workflow easier. Gadget is my favorite it’s just sad and uninspiring to have all the other apps updating and listening to users and gadget to only release sound packs. Now if you all are working on Gadget 3 I can’t wait but as a power user and professional I’m just disappointed in lack of attention and making the app better from a consumer perspective. Thanks.Version: 4.6.11

HelpI love this app. It’s almost perfect. Module standard for iPhone no longer shows as gadgets in GADGET. Do I have to by MODULE full for iPad to have my 5gadgets back whilst it’s still on sale. I only bought it for use in gadget and will be requesting a refund for module standard if so. Any help would be appreciated. Jesus I actually HAVE bought Module FULL after losing my module standard Gadgets on all three of my devices. Bro, I tried EVERYTHING. I certainly feel like requesting a refund from kord. That two of us Palagius. Any more disgruntled STANDARD MODULE owners out there..Version: 3.5.4

IndispensibleSerious about ios music? you need this. absurdly easy to use. so much flexibility to the sounds. i wish more app makers were pushing the edges like gadget is. my head is gone cloudy trying to describe it. cant be done. i use this almost every day.Version: 2.0.0

Great for one the move musicI love Gadget, the sequencer section is a little odd and takes time to get used to but the sheer range of synths is astonishing! Great as a musical sketch pad and plays nicely with ableton link. Frequently find myself recording into ableton and using my ideas as the basis of tracks. Thumbs up!.Version: 3.3.2

The best.Over the years I haven't been a massive Korg fan although I must admit, when they get something right it is usually sensational. This is one of those times. Gadget is quickly becoming my 'go to' app for almost everything. The workflow is unbeatable for quickly sketching out ideas without stop, start interruptions and the sounds are worthy of final production mixes. Well done Korg..Version: 2.6.0

Good interesting AppThis is such fun ! Great sounds and easy to use ! Send your sounds to Aliooppa ! The artists on there are very supportive !!! Excellent good fun if they iron out the download issue to upload previously bought instruments !otherwise perfect.Version: 4.0.2

Gadget is on another level!I’ve been using Gadget for a long time now. I’ve been making the best music I’ve ever made, it lets me focus more on the music. My biggest gripe at the moment is simply that I can’t get the new gadgets on my phone, ie- the iMS20 Gadget, I have it on my ipad, why can’t I get it on the iPhone? All I mostly make music on, is my phone. It’s the reason I fell in love with Gadget, because I can make music anywhere, but I don’t bring my iPad everywhere, I ALWAYS have my iPhone on me. Other than that, I even love the update, now I can use AU synths in AUM with Gadget controlling it, I love it. Just please don’t ever change the workflow too much, it’s close to perfection the way it is. Great App. Highly recommended..Version: 4.1.0

Update request!Gadget is dope. Impressive sound library and quicker than the desktop version because of the touch controls. Buy it now if you haven’t already! Below are updates I’m sure the community will love to see soon: *Needs quicker LOCAL sampling. Different gadgets import samples differently. 1. Better Copying/pasting. It’s a hassle because the copy paste menu takes up the entire screen for all tracks to copy/past not just the one you want. It’s visually distracting. Hold down track to bring up individual track edit copy/paste/bars etc 2. Transport controls need to be bigger and modular. There is lots of wasted space at the top where track name is displayed, it would be a great spot for the transport controls instead. 3. Please add master effects and track IFX effects support for Kaoss XY pad for NanoKey Studio controller (master effects control doesn’t go very deep.) Will love to see more robust Master Effects in the form of Gadgets to buy. 4. Overall Needs more support and thoughtful integration for KORG Nanokey Studio controller. Needs better native rotary mapping for each gadget. It would be great if the Gadget UI panels were more customizable and or matched the KORG Nanokey studio controller lay out better. 5. Where’s the Vocoder ?!?!.Version: 4.5.5

At least put clip fades on Zurich...Yeah, I love the thing, but the development continues to be an onslaught of mixed genius and full on arrogance. A $15 CAD IAP for a bloody ugly gain fader? Still poor audio implementation on so many levels (ever heard of clip fades, or did Mozart disapprove of those over in Zurich lol?) If they would just LISTEN to user advice about some really basic stuff, it would be so easy to go that extra star...but given all the annoying idiosyncrasies, and the fact that they LIED when they promised FREE GADGETS to initial adopters...no..Version: 3.5.0

Free to experiment and piece meal as you growWhat a fun and extremely affordable application. You can start by just playing around with some modules for free, the drum ones are fantastic. If you find value in gadget 2 it's easy to incorporate a midi controller or sequencer and expand its usability. Gadget 2 gets updates and new sounds pretty frequently, that just as frequently go on sale. Only issue I have is I can't seem to send usb clock out of gadget 2; all other routing works fine (hope that's an update fix).Version: 4.8.1

Top notchHighly workable interface for quickly and easily jamming out some surprisingly complex tracks. The synth and drum machine sounds are all top notch as you would expect from Korg. Sequencing is quick and easy, as is recording parameter automation. There are some quirks and idiosyncracies in the work flow at the moment (copying track sections and highlighting can be a bit fiddly for example) but I hope and suspect that Korg will continue to support this great environment. Worth every cent!.Version: 1.0.2

WowKeep up the great work Korg! You are changing the game!.Version: 3.5.3

Great mobile app!You can do almost anything with Gadget 2 especially since they included audio tracks. You can do both audio and midi tracks. The amp sim is not bad at all.I also like that multiple time signatures are supported as well. You can import standard midi files and audio clips. The sounds and effects are great. It would be cool if you could use a midi foot controller for stop/start next/ prev, but they’ll probably figure that out too. Definitely worth 40 bucks..Version: 4.5.1

Great synths, so-so drumsThis is a fun app to use to make music tracks. The synths sound legit and cleaner than their vintage counterparts. However, the PCM ROMpler and drum sounds have a low grade, gritty sound quality to them, as if Korg compressed them to take up less space. How about adding a drum machine that has pro quality samples? Please and thanks..Version: 4.5.5

Expensive, but so much funI've had Gadget for three months now and still use it daily. The synths include at least three classics (and a couple of duds - Amsterdam, I'm looking at you!). Bilbao is great as a drum sampler. Just wish there was a proper melodic sampler. Also: Korg, could you please add some way of copying tracks between songs? One of the great things about the iMS20 was that you could upload and share pretty well everything, rather than just audio files..Version: 1.1.2

Latest version is no goodLatest update, 1.2.4, has a glitch. Delay times seem to have been altered. So my guess is that if you download this version, and then they fix it in a later update, then all your delays will sound wrong. Wait for next version..Version: 1.2.4

Pompei and memphis unusable >:(I own polysix and ims-20. I have these on my iPhone 6s. What happened? I want my gadgets back on my newer phone. I’m scared to update my iPhone 6s to the current version because I want warszawa from my purchase of Electribe wave, but I don’t want to lose pompei and Memphis from polysix and ims-20. Otherwise great app. But why take away gadgets? It’s upsetting because I love ipolysix and it’s sounds. Edit: they didn’t they just don’t show for some reason unless you have them on an iPad on the same Apple ID as your iPhone. However, I still can’t get them to transfer. Deleting and reinstalling doesn’t work, I think it’s just too large of a version difference and my iPad doesn’t go any newer. So, the end effect is the same and I still can’t use them. :/.Version: 4.6.8

All I useCan a laptop and DAW do more? Oh definitely. I don't need more though. This is all I use for one of my projects. And it's only getting better. One to get, and watch..Version: 2.9.2

Finally a solid multi use iOS DAW 4 the iPhoneMaybe I’m biased as I’ve been a Korg guy since the days of the Triton when I was a teen. I’ve been keen to the flexibility of Korg‘s sequencers for a while, so the nature of Gadget 2 makes a lot of sense to me. The keyboard controls for the synth leave much to be desired with the phone as a sole interface in comparison to apps like GarageBand or even beatwave, however the updates to midi in and out have made this so much easier to lock in ideas that I can commit to. Wish there was more flexibility with audio period as doing midi out to another iOS synth, committing audio and flying in doesn’t have the same flexibility of cutting audio as GB or iMPC 2. Currently automation rides are the only work around..Version: 4.0.3

Great toolboxVery well organised beat writing software. Love aloof the sounds, though a wider range of bass sounds would be helpful. Impressed with sequence editing layout and design..Version: 1.1.1

Excellent appSounds are very good quality. Can’t wait for the Audio Units compatibility!.Version: 4.7.0

My Korg gadget!!!!Beeftyvally is the best app to date I have purchased I saw it when first come buibjonjo gu gu uhbihout and thought it would be like the elctribe app they done years ago , but this is really different it’s like owning a few good bits of kit with out taking up space, n wires and wall plugs, dust, you know the deal that comes with real hardware plus they make it feel more like the real deal with the Nano control! With the waffling in a nut shell it’s small money for big sound fast work flow share n export so so on....... if could have one thing for now that would make it better is every so offten give us all a free gadget , and a select all in the edit notes parameters and some do stlyle fx on mixer view like stutter/dj filters/turntable style pitch/but to fare g bI do use audio bus long side with launch pad... KORG G.Version: 4.5.3

Amazing AppKorg so far has been the greatest audio workstation I’ve worked with. Every single instrument/gadget is simple to use and packs mighty punch and each one has an enjoyably unique sound. Only criticism is the lack of FM synthesis which I hope could be added later.Version: 4.6.32

Most productive IOS sequencerI have a number of IOS sequencers (Modstep, BeatMaker 3, Auria Pro, Medley, Thumb Jam, ...) and overall I find Gadget is my go to app. A big part of this is the behavior of the piano roll which has the best handling of the apps I own. For drum parts the step sequencer in Modstep is better but none of the other apps have the efficient piano roll editor that Gadget has. A drawback is you are limited to Korg gadgets and I imagine for any type of music you will need to purchase some IAP gadgets. For pop/rock/Jazz etc. you really need IAP drums, bass, piano. There are some interface quirks (e.g. to rename a scene you click on time signature in function mode, not intuitive at all) and midi import is a mess, breaking midi sequence into multiple 2 bar scenes. But overall Gadget is a very efficient music app. Sharing between devices works great, but again it’s not intuitive..Version: 4.3.0

The best beginners program everThis music software is the most legitimate out there! It’s as if you have all the real instruments - modules, synthesizers, and more in person just compact in a little screen that gives you all but non ending sounds, and it’s up to one to come up with what ever comes to mind. I love to use gadget! it’s fast once you teach yourself to use it. The quality of the sound is the same as it is in a real professional recording studio as well as voice instruments. I will always say this is my favorite hobby and passion to do and I plan to keep using it to produce cool beats. Two thumbs up for sure and 5 stars all the way!.Version: 4.5.5

Fantastic upgrade!Sooo much easier to find gadgets, love many other additions,....especially Sydney. Love from Oz 🥰.Version: 6.0.1

Fun!Great workstation, endless fun. KORG transcended to the digital medium far better than the proverbial ‘duck to water’.Version: 4.6.29

GreatIt’s great. Buy it..Version: 4.6.32

Limitless creative power at your fingertipsKORG Gadget is an incredibly powerful, feature rich, music production & mobile DAW for IOS. It only took me a few sessions until I became familiar with the workflow and interface of Gadget. After which, my tracks really started to really take off. If you own Korg Module, Korg iM1, or ODYSSEi you will have 7 additional instruments in Gadget to choose from. While these additional instruments are a huge plus, they certainly are not a requirement to make brilliant tracks. Recently they have added 3 new instruments comprising; a very realistic sounding acoustic drum module with loads of kits to choose from, An electric and acoustic bass module with a wealth of options and cabinets to choose from, and an 8bit video game music module by Konami. To summarize; Korg Gadget has a very intuitive user interface with dynamic control over every track. Creating high quality music on a mobile DAW has never been this addictive. This is unequivocally by far my favorite Music Production app on iOS period..Version: 3.5.3

Just so goodKorg’s gadgets just sound so good. Outside of TAL’s Juno synth, I don’t think anything really can compete. Maybe you don’t think their DAW is totally legit (no bus support, limited FX), but now that their gadgets are AUv3, it’s really a no-brainer. We need them to update their legacy synths so that the corresponding gadgets can be used as plugins (Pompei, Montpellier, Lexington, etc). I have too many DAWs and plugins—iOS and macOS—and to this day nothing beats the ease and enjoyability of Gadget. And certainly nothing comes close to its sound. It’s Korg. They’ve been doing this forever, and they get it..Version: 6.0.1

A whole world of creativityI’ve had gadget for three years now and every time I open it up I’m inspired more and more. Wether I’m in Coffee shops, walks, or waiting for an appointment etc. I find just the right sound to propel me into another dimension and creation..Version: 3.6.1

Works with ABLETON. It really does.Really fun to sketch out tunes on. It's quite inspirational actually. Very intuitive operation. But the real genius is it's flawless compatibility with Ableton Live. Just press a button and the sounds are saved as WAVs in an Ableton session. Brilliant..Version: 3.0.1

Not bad, but needs landscape! Not bad for a version 1 product, but please, please, please, for the love of all that's holy, give us landscape! Switch the views to side by side and it will work fine - who on earth thought portrait only was the right way to go??.Version: 1.0.1

Best iPad appThis has to be hands down the best app for making music for the iPad. Only feature I think it's missing is being able to set what scene and track to jump to within another scene and track..Version: 1.3.1

Great but lost my workThis app is awesome to make your own music, but it’s kinda young so even some basic functionality is missing. I gave four stars because the worst thing possible happened and I lost a song... The way it happened is I was working on a song for several minutes when I needed to export a previous song. I went ahead and opened the previous song and exported. When I went back to my new song, it was missing! Even though I gave it a name it never appeared. I realized after the fact that I did not save my song, however the very basic functionality should exist to tell me to save my work before I open another song. I was not warned or anything, so my user error made me lose work due to missing basic error checking. Any other program on iOS automatically saves... any program on a computer will warn you to save the work before you close it. This lacks those two basic features making loss of work possible..Version: 3.5.3

A joy. What can I say? I love this app and all the instruments available within. Imagine all your favourite AU synths and samplers right there in your favourite DAW, multitracking to your heart’s content before getting cpu issues. (And when you need a more cpu hungry sound there is always a cheeky workaround with modstep, AUM and AB3 ...(shhh).) Customer Support are great too, they fixed my issue right away!😉.Version: 3.5.4

Feels like home, user from day oneAlways my go to tool on both iPad/iPhone, studio or on a go. It’s really time for Gadget to take multi audio inputs to work with more than one external synth. Please, please support routing of other app audio to Gadget track. We buy all the native Gadget anyways. Even for the full size KORG apps I would love to drive/record back to DAW, for ex play ARP ODYSSEi with actual ARP and record to Gadget! Supporting AuV3 would be huge! (even as paid option like Taipei for midi). With audio-in routing and AuV3 host will never ran Cubasis or Zenbeats again! Your fellow Gadgeteer, 90% of my music is made/conceived on Gadget, which I ran everyday for past 6 years. TNX!.Version: 4.5.5

Life changerThis program is the program that has made more than 70 songs under my name ENDESGA. IT. IS. BRILLIANT. KORG, if you're reading this, I have a whole bunch of suggestions. One of them is a button to select ALL NOTES in the bar piece, and another button with the bar sections size, to shift all notes up or down a semitone. Pleeeease..Version: 2.0.0

Great and hoping for more advanced featuresI love this app and think it would be great to have the below features. Purchased two months ago and 2 albums done and set for release, super easy to be creative with but helps to have some knowledge of mixing and theres a lack of visual guides to help beginners. This is a good thing as most music apps are for casuals generally. It’s not filled with preset loops like most to. What I would love to have added for t stars review: AUV3 support Package deal for newcomers ie one time pay for all gadgets. More presets for all gadgets some are very limited Desperate for more acoustic and real instruments Needs more drum machines/or versatile drum synths Db metering of some kind folders for projects Full pc app not just mac All in one dedicated hardware, nanokey studio is pretty poor Mastering options other than just limiting. Audiotrack support.Version: 4.5.1

Great app for instant creationI am really enjoying this app. I love how immediate everything is. Nice and simple to use. I’m just trying to figure out if you can sample into it though. It would be great if you can take recordings from Zurich and chop them up using one of the samplers. If that’s already possible please can somebody from Korg let me know. Not sure if I get notified for responses to this. Great app loving the sounds..Version: 4.6.32

Great sounds, easy to use.Great sounds, easy to use..Version: 3.0.1

Great DAW FOR PROSThis is one of the greatest DAWs I’ve ever used, it adds so much value to your production. There are some stuff buy and regret later but I can tell y’all I never regret buying and therefore would recommend it to everyone out there peace and love❤️✌️.Version: 4.6.32

Great results amazingI don’t use iPhone apps for making music all the time, mainly using ableton on a desktop computer. I have spent a lot of money over the years trying all sorts of weird audio apps out, but gadget is one I always come back to. I really can sketch out tracks quickly and easily in it, and it’s way of exporting and importing is really good. Yes, the sounds I find could be better compared to a desktop app, but I have to pinch myself and remember I’m making this stuff on a phone in my pocket..Version: 3.7.2

Top shelf🤘I am fairly new to music creation apps but the second u download Gadget and open it up, u quickly realize how great it is...soo easy to use and such amazing instruments packed in, u can’t believe it’s only $54.99...there r more boards to purchase but the prices r well within reason...to buy everything in hardware form would cost u a fortune yet here is a full recording studio plus in the palm of your hands for the price of family nite at McDonalds...get it now and fill your world with music like I did...thank u Korg!.Version: 4.0.0

Amazing App!Very well thought out and simple but effective. Perfect for newcomers and more advanced alike. Please keep developing this app and adding new cool gadgets. This is my go to and favourite of all apps for music creation and beat sketching. Hats off to the developers @ Korg..Version: 4.6.25

Great sketch padI use Gadget as a sketch pad to work on new ideas. I like the Gadgets but would like to see a traditional style sampler..Version: 1.2.2

Korg GadgetThis is a very versatile app with an assortment of extremely high quality electronic drum, bass, and synth sounds. The ability to edit sounds is astonishing. The sampler, which is an extra, is very stable and can import samples from third parties. All of the modules and the program work seamlessly without any issues..Version: 2.0.0

Excellent portable studio.Gadgets amazing for on the go, the range of Gadgets are amazing and provide an extremely wide range of sonic possibilities. All the synths provide a beefy amount of low end and don’t feel wimpy at all, the effects on each channel while basic, do the job. Syncing on iCloud is really useful, saving on the iPhone or iPad will allow you to load the track on the other device. It also allows a decent range of exporting abilities like individual tracks to be mixed later, also exporting as an Ableton Live clip format, this can be very useful for taking jams into Live to expand further with other equipment. Gadget has utilised the full screen on the new style of iPhone and IPads that have the larger curved displays. Hardware like the Korg NanoKey Studio syncs with Gadget really well and latency is very low. Some improvements would be that while Gadget is emulating a bunch of hardware equipment running into a mixer, it’s also trying to be a DAW, it would be very useful If the Sidechain effect could target a specific channel on a drum machine plug in, this would save duplicating the drum machines and muting the kick on one and the rest in the other to get a clean signal. All in all, anyone in music for fun or for business and also owns a IOS device, this needs to be on their device..Version: 3.7.2

Great experience with some minor complaintsI’ve been addicted to using this app since I downloaded it. I just wish there was an undo button and a way to remove modules..Version: 4.5.3

Almost perfectThis app sounds so good and paired with a MIDI controller makes producing quality electronic music almost effortless. I currently only use this and Cubasis for sequencing and, while Cubasis offers a lot more options, I find myself much more productive using Gadget 2 and often produce near complete compositions in one sitting using it. The synths sound amazing. A function I would like to see that may be easy for the developer to implement in an update is the ability to change the time signature or number of steps per instrument part. This would make the app perfect for my purposes..Version: 4.6.20

Gadget Gold!Gadget is a pretty awesome app, probably the best because it delivers a goldmine of sounds, functionality and possibilities. It's a beautiful thing..Version: 3.0.1

Jonny DeeFirst class music app, having tried several I would say that Korg Gadget is a professional program with an easy to use interface but under the surface there’s so many options and features that allows one to create some very polished tracks from scratch. I would like to see more quality orchestral sounds added like timpani, French horn, better brass overall and strings..Version: 3.6.1

Very good music app, but still has flaws I wish were goneWhether I draw notes or record it, I find Gadget to have the best workflow of most music apps. I wish I can divide parts of my songs to patterns in Cubasis. It’s also great that you can automate parameters of synths. My biggest problem with Gadget is that some of the Gadget synths don’t need to exist. I think Helsinki is the worst Gadget because it is literally just a tone generator with a sub-oscillator, filter, and bitcrusher. Lisbon and Kiev are what Helsinki should be. I am also disappointed by the lack of oscillator sync in Wolfsburg and Phoenix. Besides, when will MS-20 and Polysix finally have Gadget counterparts. I love Chiang Mai, Kiev, Phoenix, and Kamata. Korg Gadget is often a battery eater depending on the Gadgets. It turns the battery life of my iPad from 8 to 6 hours. Otherwise, I am happy with it..Version: 3.5.3
