✓ Absolutely greatI have been using the app for years now and it just keeps getting better in terms of design and handling. The recipes have always been super delicious. If not super delicious, some experimenting with adequate spices works wonders. It’s part of my daily routine after I wake up to check the news, the weather and what’s new on KptnCook. At first I used the app for myself to brag in front of friends about my cooking skills, but nowadays I can’t keep quiet about the app. Now I’m bragging with how many recipes I have in my list of favorites and how many I have cooked. ✓ Everyone should have this appI never do reviews but this one deserves it. I was in a spot of wanting to explore cooking and bring variety to my dinners but every single app I found was rubbish. Until I came across this! I use it every day, every recipe on there is lush, so easy to use and as someone that can't afford big subscriptions, the free side to it is a lifesaver. I've actually ended up waking up excited to check out my new recipes for the day - sad I know. But yeah - can't recommend it enough..Version: 8.0.10

✓ Would be 5 stars but…I would rate this app with 5 stars but it has a couple annoying flaws. First, the extremely useful “I don’t eat” feature doesn’t actually work. Despite adding a few ingredients to that list in my profile, the daily recipes continue not just to include those ingredients, but to feature them as the main element to the recipe(s). It wouldn’t be a problem except with only 3 recipes offered per day, it becomes problematic when 2 of them regularly include an unwanted ingredient. Second, the app doesn’t seem to sync completely between devices even though I use the same login. For example, on my iPad it shows all 5 of the recipe collections I’ve made but on my phone it only shows 3, and the chosen meal plan doesn’t show up on both devices either. That said, I absolutely love the simplicity of the app (the parts that work) and the recipe layouts and photos. It’s really great that there is a portion calculator which automatically changes the ingredient quantities to match the number of portions wanted. I also really enjoy the variety of recipes offered. Although my husband and I are omnivores, I like being able to plan out the week with a majority of vegetarian dishes so I can limit our meat consumption..Version: 7.6.11

I get bored of the things I know how to cook so fast so this is a fun way for me to keep dinnertime from seeming routine. I like to mix and match parts of the recipes to make it more to my liking or include a meat from one recipe with a salad or grain option from another. The favorites option is cool too..Version: 4.4

✓ Beautiful Cooking AppI use the recipes in this app often, especially since the pandemic as we rarely order take out. The recipes are simple, healthy, easy to follow and beautifully presented. The app has a fun side as well. Each day one receives three new recipes, so it’s like opening a small surprise package. If one likes the look of a recipe, one can save it, otherwise it disappears but might be reintroduced at a later date. Additionally, the app takes advantage of the fact that many people already have a lot of basic cooking staples at home so there’s no need to run to the store for a exotic ingredient. ✓ Great design, not all units translatedSleek design, easy handling. The version in the American Apple store has a couple of German units, like TL instead of tsp, or Zehe instead of clove (garlic).
