✓ Wasn’t as Good as its PredecessorThe game is flat out bad for me. Asphalt 8 was the reason I wanted to buy Asphalt 9. I didn’t play it for long, only played a few hours and deleted the app. Why? There’s two major flaws that this game has to offer. First, is that the loading screen loads way too long. I have full internet connection, yet it still takes me from 10 minutes, to almost 1 hour, just to play the game. Also, I don’t like the function of using choice to decide if you want to do, say, a barrel roll. It gets rid of what you could in Asphalt 8. Even if you could turn off this function in settings, that still doesn’t stop the game from loading. But the recently change is just getting less and less understandable. We have to pay much higher upgrades fee for the new cars, but it is getting harder for us to earn credits in the game. Today it removes the 10k rewards in expert race and put it into clud rewards. But HOW MANY CLUBS CAN HAVE 15 people who possess top S class cars to earn that group rewards? Also for multiplier games, Previously we could get 65k credits if we are in legend lounge and in top 1000, but currently we can only receive 25k credits plus the legend lounge is harder and harder to get in. I am in top 1000 and i am still far from legend lounge in recent 2 seasons. Gameloft just make changes that makes A9 harder for new and old players to play. And it is getting more stingy to give player rewards and free blueprints. I have topped up a lot money and i got full stars for almost all cars. But i wont be able to fully upgrade all of them and gameloft just don’t want us to upgrade them as they want us to top up more. ✓ Touchdrive......doesn’t give me any thrill of even taking part in a race cos you just drift and then do silly pointless swipes like it’s a runner. The other two options are far too hard but Touchdrive is over the top nannying. Asphalt 7 touch controls were perfect and I can’t see why the option can’t be included in this game. Ok you have tap but it’s way to hard as is tilt but touchdrive is taking the pee. Hardcore racers will love this game with tap and tilt controls but I preferred Asphalt 7. Just like Asphalt 8 with its awful handling this is hardcore but touchdrive almost feels as if it was specifically designed for certain gamers in mind and to me that just stinks. I love racing games but the controls are crap. Babying and hardcore, there is no middle ground. Not impressed at all. Let me start by saying you now need to wait before you can use the same car in another mission, which is absolutely absurd. There should be no wait time at all, as it just slows down progress. Although you can skip the wait time by watching an ad or paying a certain amount of tokens (which you need ACTUAL MONEY to buy tokens), the wait time would be much better off if it was just removed completely. Also, the automation of almost everything during the actual race just ruins the gameplay. The only thing you have control over is paths, drifting, and nitro. GameLoft, if you’re reading this review, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS AGAIN FOR ASPHALT 10. Also, you can no longer buy any cars with gold coins. You need blueprints to unlock cars, which can be earned through seasonal events or by playing the career mode. The career mode is admittedly somewhat engaging, though it’s ruined by the gameplay and wait times. ✓ Multiplayer cheaters ruin itI’ve had enough of this game now because of the rampant cheaters in multiplayer and I’m deleting it . The designers know full well about the cheaters and who’s doing it but won’t do anything to stop it so it absolutely ruins what could be a good game and makes it totally pointless playing multiplayer because you’ll just end up with one or two muppets in nearly every race that because they can’t drive properly resort to cheating . ✓ Impossible to progress without spending moneyThere are five chapters in this game, with around 16 series of races per chapter(except chapter 1 which has 10). That’s a lot of promised action in he single player game. I haven’t been able to complete chapter 1, or more than a handful of series in chapter 2, or more than a few races in chapter 3 before grinding to a halt because I’m unable to unlock anything else or upgrade existing unlocked cars further without buying loads of car packs in the hopes of randomly unlocking something at some point. Or grinding away at daily/multiplayer/special events in the hopes of some random card pack rewards. Unless you like frustration or spending lots of money don’t bother with this game. I’d rather have paid a decent price for the game and had a proper unlockable progression through the single player game. ✓ Hardly a racing gameYou don’t really play this game. Most of the controls are automatic. You only have control over drifting (which hardly changes anything to the « driving ») and the turbo. The AI is (obviously) dumb as a brick, so the only thing you have to do in order to win is max out your nitro and spam the trigger. The only thing separating this game from CSR Racing is the fact that the camera is behind the car and not alongside the racetrack. No need for actual improvements or skills, you just buy a better car (which you can simply skip by paying) Asphalt 9 killed the franchise. ✓ Could be great *updated*I’ve been playing this game since shortly after it was released. While there are some great things about the game the bad outweighs the good buy a longshot. The story mode is good and the daily challenges can be fun but monotonous. It becomes very hard to unlock some of the higher end cars even with the challenges that are presented to you as options. The bad in this game is the multiplayer mode which becomes the only way to play this game once you’ve maxed out some of the easier to attain cars. **update** The last major update to this game was horrible. Look at the forums at the countless number of complaints. The game has become geared towards those that know how to cheat or buy the higher end cars that normal racers can’t get. You could easily flush $500 on this game and NEVER unlock new cars or win events or multiplayer races. The Grand Prix events are full of those cheaters and hacks that outrun everyone by seconds keeping legit racers out of the top 10. You can buy a pack of cards for $10 to get 3 blueprints towards a car that takes 48 prints to unlock. ✓ Game killing updatesAsphalt just released the worst update by changing the multiplayer feature and screen which was absolutely unnecessary. You couldn’t see the MP points gain in races and the amount of points you had as a result of the update, after facing some backlash they let us see the the points gain/lost however its on one corner of the screen so you will barely see it ever if you do notice but while you can barely see that you will definitely see the winner and his car as it is slapped on you face. Garbage rewards on the mp as you work hard to get to the legend league just to get 2 blueprint of cars. It completely discourages players to play the MP at all. Also its very hard to climb mp chart as if you get to 5th out of 8 you will lose about 10 points and if you get 8th then you lose about 45 points. If you wanna get your league upgraded then as you approach near that league you get matched up against opponents with cars one class higher that yours so its next to impossible to win or get within top 3 so system itself is very bad. And the MP main page just leaves even more of a bad taste in the mouth. The American season total crap. Its as if they are actually trying pretty hard to kill the game. Multipack purchase promises legendary car card but doesn’t hand out raised with support team via in game menu over 24 hours no answer even if it was just to say we’re busy but looking into this. Twitter account not followed it seems and just ignored and only used for spam. There app support page and forum seems void of any actual staff member intervention ever. In short great game but don’t spend any money and god help you if you loose you’re account as you might as well talk to the god dam wall as these people don’t give a fecal matter and for once feel like I’ve been let down by Apple as they have shown no help for the purchasing issues as stone walled with “not eligible for refund” or “seek assistance from app website” keeping you’re cash and you as the mug in a perpetual spin of tennis to the other one with no actual care or attention. This game basically does everything for you like auto-acceleration, and auto-turning which is really stupid. It now also includes a stupid gas tank system and now you need blueprints to unlock every car which EVERYONE HATE about the last asphalt game which you needed blueprints to unlock the best cars. In this you need it to unlock every car. This game has single handedly ruined the Gameloft-Asphalt series. ✓ Good game, very pay to win.This game is fun and the graphics are very high-quality. The (very major) issue with this game is that it is EXTREMELY pay to win. How it works is you race to earn money. You spend your money on card packs. If you are lucky and spend a lot of time in the game, you can eventually earn enough identical cards (out of 500+ options) to get a new vehicle. The top-tier cars each take about 8-10 hours of gameplay to unlock. If you spend money, you can buy the exact same car for $3. You can see the problem with this. If I were to spend $1000 dollars on the game, I would have a very good chance at dominating on the leaderboards. If I could not afford to spend $1000 dollars on a phone game, I would get smoked by the rich person. Gameloft probably will never fix this as they make tens of thousands of dollars a day off of people spending money in order to win. Most players will never be able to own the cool cars featured in the video. We play this game to escape and drive the cars of our dreams and then we find we are stuck with a Mitsubishi Lancer, a bmw convertible, and a 2017 Camero. Gameloft, this game is a disappointment. ✓ Worst Gameloft Asphalt game ever!As a 3 year player on Asphalt 8, I find this game just ruined the experience with blueprints, always online with no offline racing, gas tanks, and the new driving mechanics along with the car collision. The blueprints, first of all, are hard to get when trying to get blueprints for a specific car. And even then, you still can’t by the cars fully with currency. The online racing for all the time is just annoying. As a person new to the new mechanics of destroying others makes it hard to ram others from behind. The gas tanks are also super annoying that you have to wait for the gas tank to reload while using a worse car that you probably originally were going to use. It also dies down my battery way quicker than Asphalt 8 did. Also, when achieving another section of races, instead of getting them all in that one section, you have to collect “flags” to move on to more races. And you’re not even changing to another full section. You just get ten more races to collect flags to… do it all over again. ✓ UnplayableI’ve always been a fan of of racing games. Especially asphalt. When this game first came out I waited a little bit and downloaded it. The game is amazing, but as soon as you get to chapter 2 the opposite happens. The game starts to get unplayable for example class b rookie. You have to get the Porsche. It’s pretty easy to get 20 of them but the other 5 are in BWM. In BWM your pretty much forced to use a one star Hommage and with the recommended ranks and the difficulty there is no way you can get past the level which means there is pretty much no way to get the Porsche. Well you can buy the Porsche from the legend store right, well with the recommended rank and the difficulty your forced to upgrade which cost coins. At this point where you need class b where I am I either don’t have enough cards or coins. So only way to get enough coins is you guessed it, REAL MONEY. And tokens are for coins too, but then you need enough. So you have to pay with real money again. People are not going to waste all there money on a game so I have some suggestions that you could take to make the game not pay to win and fun. My first and only suggestion is to take other peoples suggestions. They have some great ideas to make the game more fun and enjoyable. Again the game it’s self is very good but it’s pay to win so you have to pay in order to win. ✓ Energy and settingsUpdate: Now I’m noticing a massive pay to win gap after actually being able to play online. The rating of your car doesn’t really matter, their cars are usually way better and are some of the expensive cars from the deals at the start so you won’t get far. So besides from actually now not really being a racing game, little skill involved to play just having a better car, pay to win aspects, ‘energy’ (which it is, they just don’t want that word as everyone hates energy based games) and very little customisation, I can’t see why the reviews are even slightly good and I’m done with it. Original: Was really excited for this, and to be honest it’s no where near asphalt 8 for simple reasons. You don’t actually race anymore, just tap, and if you want to put it back to normal actual racing you can’t manually place your brakes or nitro, they’re pretty much blocking where you would steer. Even if I had money, buying the full blueprint for a car might end up costing you hundreds of dollars. I get they need to make money and I'd probably give them some of my hard earned money if it wasn't so outrageously expensive. I mean buying video game car for $100 dollars is just insane. I bet if they lowered their prices they would make more money. There's a ton of people willing to spend $20 to get what they need, but there's a very small portion of society than can afford to spend hundreds on ONE vehicle. I'm at loss as progression in the game has come to basically a stand still. I can't progress in the campaign because I don't have the right cars. I am already close to quitting this game and deleting it because the game routinely fakes Internet connection failures. It will crash the game in the middle of races causing you to lose your credit or energy. It will also routinely crash during the playing of the advertisements that you say you will watch to earn extra credit after a race. Those videos will play a long time and then ultimately crash the app entirely. The waste of time is becoming maddening and is enough to make me seriously consider quitting already… I woke up the next morning after initially trying to post this msg the previous night. And tried 4 races using 8 of my 10 tickets and the game crashed every time… this is my only device on my Wi-Fi the iOS is updated and my connection is very strong. ✓ Multiplayer match ups are trashGame is basic, not a really involved game as there are not controls for driving. Rotating your phone to turn is terrible and not accurate too the game. Pay to play cars required to play some mini games which is lame. One of the worst things about this game though is how they match players for multiplayer games. I’m either competing with cars that are ranked 1000 levels higher or 1000 levels lower than the car I choose so you either lose the game horribly or win the game with zero competition. ✓ DisappointedI played A8 for a very long time I enjoyed it as it combines skill as well as upgrades to get better cars and bikes, so when I saw that A9 was out I was very excited as it is fun to play a fresh game and get improve, but the racing is just not the same when you are driving you can hardly turn the car so racing requires no skill, this makes it pay to win as all you do when you are driving is swipe to change lanes and press nitro at the right time. This makes it hard to knock other cars down and take the fun out of learning new tracks. They should also have introduced motorbikes in with the games release . This game, like most of Gameloft’s games (I played many) has really amped-up graphics that are first-rate. Game play itself is fluid and the controls are adequate for touch playing. The tragedy here is the very same cancer that’s giving mobile games a very bad reputation- namely, from the moment you begin this game you are bombarded with “LIMITED TIME!!!” offers to buy cars for $90 and other things. Before you can even begin playing you’re drowning in all sorts of offers to buy, buy, buy and even worse, the “loot crate” thing also shows up in this game. This loot crate system is as close to gambling as you can get, because ultimately you’re spending real money to play the slot machine here. And of course, game companies offering this sort of shady momey-grabbing activity are hoping to ignite that little inner-gambler in you with promises of rare items. It’s just very disappointing that such a beautiful game is made so awful by the horrendous micro-transaction system that nearly all mobile games have adopted. ✓ Great game but needs improvementsOverall the game looks very good and there's plenty to do. The new card system with the cars makes it much easier to obtain them compared to asphalt 8. The ever changing world and dynamic gameplay are really nice to look at. ✓ Great game, but it has it’s downsThe game is awesome, from gameplay to graphics, it can’t be touched by many games in the App Store. It is action-packed and full of beautiful cars. There are multiple events always going on, multiplayer has pretty good servers(although they always seem to put you into lobbies with people that have have cars 1000+ ranks higher than yours, which doesn’t makes sense to me at all), and the story is pretty fun also. This is where the downs come in though. The game doesn’t really give you much of a chance to progress after like the 3rd chapter if you’re not paying real money. I’m talking like 40 to 50 dollars just to get cars, and the worst part is that this game is revolving around you buying packs. These packs only give you like 1-4 blueprints for a car, but most of the time you get blueprints for a car you don’t even need. I reallly like the game when it first started and all you need is patience to get the car. Though at the time I was playing, there were spawners and high level drivers (which I don’t know how they were ahead of getting new cars before being published nor starting from a score of 20 then a few hours would end up to thousands 😂). You need to play the daily events as well to earn more blueprints to get new or upgrade cars. I like a game that is fun to play but challenging to complete. I have fun (and spend days) playing just the daily events and multiplayer modes without going to the career mode. What I don’t like is the way special events is setup. Special events is a mode that is only open for a limited number of days. If you complete all the challenges within the time period, you win a new car. The problem is that you can only get so far in the challenges before it starts requiring you to use a higher end car with upgrades to even play. If you want to win the car offered in the special event, you most pay real money to buy and upgrade the cars needed to play the challenges in the special event. So, what if there is a car in-between you and the next “lane” while using Touch Drive? Well, you bash right into them without even slowing down and you can do that over and over again until you knock them out, of course! The campaign is only really there to give you cars. The real longevity here is in multiplayer and it’s seriously bad. Even though you are free to control your car in Asphalt 9 with pro controls, you are still more restricted than in Asphalt 8. Take ramps, for example. In Asphalt 8, you can maneuver your car just right to easily trigger barrel rolls on flat spin ramps and things like that (unlike Asphalt 9). Another matter to take into consideration is the multiplayer system. In Asphalt 8, the players you were matched up with is dependent on the current rank of your vehicle. In Asphalt 9, however, it is dependent on your reputation level and league. Looking at the positive side,(like almost all the other reviews have) the graphics, vehicles, and tracks are all good, but maps with cool mechanics like sector 8 were removed, which is still nice because it also makes Asphalt 9 different to Asphalt 8. The single player ‘My Career’ is good but progression is slow as you try to upgrade the vehicles many of which have final stats that are too low to be of any use. Have been playing since it first released on the App Store and apart from the minor lack of anti aliasing it looks BEAUTIFUL! However, when going on the bus and away from WiFi I cannot play! I understand that the game needs the connection to stop the player from changing the local time on their device to skip timed events etc. But this always connected approach may not be necessary in a free play mode. I would love a quick solo race mode like on asphalt 8 where you can adjust the difficulty, map and gamemode. In this free play mode you wouldn’t get any money or tokens and would be able to race purely for the fun of it. My other main feature missing from asphalt 8 was the local multiplayer over wifi. I would love to be able to race against my friends on asphalt 9. Everything else is fabulous: from the graphics to the gameplay to the controls. This is one of the best free games on the AppStore. Finally, I absolutely love free cam modes in games where you can watch a replay of a game and take some really cool photos. I think there should be some options for filters, green screen, hide boosts and a true free cam mode so you can lock it to the landscape rather than the car itself. Rocket League has a perfect example and I think it would allow for some really awesome montage videos to introduce even more players to this amazing game. You can select manual steering but the controls seem more confusing. I spent $70+ on this game and it still did not justify my spending. It still showcased more to buy and more to try to buy and spend. It should be illegal to have this in my state of virginia. And it could destroy video gaming, especially there being esports. It false advertises that if you buy a card pack or new car for the $90 for an a class car that you will win more at th game but you dont win more when you spend money! The game works to just get money from you. It does not give you anything better when you purchase anything. It just gets you to try to pay more and pay more in any way it can. Even if you bought every thing in the game and unlocked everything in the game, you cant win competitions, or career modes more. But it portrays that you will win if you pay money. ✓ EhhhThe game starts fun but once you get past group C the gas tank takes an hour to refill and you only get to race six times per tank. Also the game crashes every time you change car, change season, race a credit heist & every other or every other other race. Every time it crashes your gas decreases by one. This happens even on the newest phones. The game also uses blueprints which take way longer to collect. Example, a cars worth of money takes about a season of play, race season in game not real season,. A race gives you around one blueprint some times more but not very often. Anyway a car takes around thirty to fifty blueprints and only every other or one in every three, four races even gives you a blueprint. And even worst is the fact that every other race season makes you get a new car after you already got a new car for that season, two new cars a season. And a season is only ten to fifteen forty second races. The game play is ok but the races force you to upgrade your car all the time but the game puts low caps on upgrading. Also for multiplayer you have to have the fastest car maxed out to win. The only upside is that there is only one add and it’s not a video so you can skip it instantly..NSFS playerVersion: 2.4.3

✓ Need a 2nd Mortgage to progress!!!I used to love this game. The graphics are amazing. The gameplay is unbelievable. I love the different game modes. However the newest updates are COSTLY to say the least. Patience is a virtue but this is ridiculous. You can wait and play for months to get cars and level ups or If you want certain cars you need to buy it when the package was available. $50 for half of the car. With that you have coins to buy another car but you have to pay another $50 so you can get the initial car. But it doesn’t stop there bcz you need to upgrade the car to another level. Each level has upgraded features that cost coins. Well to progress in the game you need to pay another $100 to get to the next level. To be fair there are quite a few payouts but most of the payouts don’t help you to get the cars that you want. They spent so much time looking for ways to get you to spend money that they didn’t develop any new tracks. There are several tracks but after a while the tracks get boring. I used to spend money on the game every week but I have given up on that. Going forward I refuse to spend actual money to excel. ✓ Way too many ads!!!!!!!Okay, so I haven’t been playing long and in the beginning it was fine. Mostly just ads to get bonus stuff, which is fine, I’ll watch an ad to triple my winnings. But within the last 24 hours, the ads have gotten ridiculous!!!!! A race maybe lasts 90 seconds or so and now it’s playing an ad after every race. Want to check your rewards/achievements, another ad, upgrade your car, another ad. Go to career seasons, another ad. Extremely annoying!!!!!! I don’t mind an ad here or there, but 2 ads in under a minute is totally uncalled for and makes the game unplayable and not enjoyable....... I started playing as an alternative to RR3, which is a fantastic game, but definitely realistic and Asphalt was a more fun, less serious game. I’ll just go back to it, at least it doesn’t bombard you with unwanted ads. You can watch an ad for a bonus, but they’re not shoved down your throat like Asphalt is doing. ✓ Great Graphics, but it’s you gotta pay or can’t keep upGreat game and great graphics. The idea behind the game is great but after playing for a week or so. You will realize that you have to grind for hours and hours and hours if you don’t want to pay for the upgrades in order to keep up with the game. I am literally stuck and cannot go any further because I don’t have enough “cards” to unlock more powerful cars or upgrade my current vehicle to the next level. By the way, it takes an absurd amount of cards to upgrade your crappy Class D or Class C cars from two to three stars so I don’t even want to know how many cards it would take to upgrade a Class B or A. Races are fun but gets pretty boring after a while because it is the same track and same objectives. Developers should come up with a better way to get people that doesn’t want to play to play involved because getting 1 or 2 cards after every 5 races is ridiculous. The fuel (essentially how maybe lives you have) per car is horrible thought out, or in this case pretty clever way to take your money. The vehicles will not refuel to 6/6 unless you completely run out of fuel. So if it has 2/6 then it will stay like that forever. ✓ TOO HARDHi, I recently started playing this game and I thought it was good, well never mind IT WAS HORRIBLE, I mean sure the graphics are insane. But the races are impossible like in the place where you chose the races, the second box that has 15 races, is literally impossible, beacause the 4th one always puts me at the last spot when it starts, and it gives everyone else a boost but it never lets me go any faster, and yes I have my car level 793, but all the races are very impossible and the 5th race (in the second box) only gives me 10 seconds to go around a literal super long track, and you have to literally have hacks just to beat the level. ✓ To many adverts I’m sick of itDon’t get me wrong I love this game, the graphics are great and the carrier is fun but you only get 4 races per car before you have to refill the car. To refill the car you need to either pay 150 A points which are hard to obtain or watch over 10 adverts all 30 seconds long which you can not skip. if you choose to not refill the car you normally have to wait 3 hours before you can drive it again. It would be fine if there were less adverts or if you could drive the car more but when you keep failing the same race over 4 times it can be extremely annoying and unmotivating. It’s also impossible to obtain new cars outside of the carrier mode, this is because you can’t just buy cars you have to unlock them by gaining cards normally 30 to 50 of them before you can unlock the car. This can be frustrating as it shows cars in the trailer such as the Bugatti Chiron or Lamborghini centenario but you can’t unlock them.
