Settings you can’t get intoAnyone know how to get into the parental settings? 3- finger tap. I tap and tap and tap... made it in once, now can’t get back. I’ve got about 10 minutes of tapping in with no luck. Only thing I’ve succeeded in doing is constantly bringing up the iPhone zoom feature..Version: 2.0

GlitchAp glitches on several words - currently it is not recognizing the word because.Version: 2.0

Don’t waste your moneyThere is no sound. You can’t get to the settings. A big waste of time. I wish I had read the reviews before I paid for this piece of trash..Version: 2.0

HorribleThis app has no sound therefore if your child is trying to learn sight words they have no way of knowing if the word they sliced was a sight word or not. Take my advice and do NOT spend 1.99 on this!.Version: 2.0

My own listI used to be able to add my own list of words. Why am I not able to now?.Version: 2.0

Didn't make the cutEvery word can be cut in half regardless if it is the correct one or not. It just doesn't give you a point for a wrong word. My kid just cuts all the words. I don't think he is grasping the concept.Version: 2.0

Not what I expectedVery boring and I’m not sure that it’s very educational. Can be “won” even with no sound on. The kid just needs to touch or swipe every word that pops up. It doesn’t test whether the kid recognizes them or not, plus just gets boring after one minute of that as nothing changes..Version: 2.0

Not what I expectedI was looking for something that would allow a kid to read the words and pronounce the words and this app seems to limit the participant to listening to someone else read the word aloud and make a hand gesture when something looks like what’s read aloud. Misleading if you want something that you can work on recognition and enunciation..Version: 2.0

Sound doesn’t always work. This is a neat concept. I hope over time my 4 year old will get something from it. It is frustrating that the app’s sound only works some of the time so she isn’t hearing what the words are. Wouldn’t recommend it as a learning app for this reason..Version: 2.0

Don't do it!This is one of the worst apps I have come across. What a waste. The words don't always come all the way out from the edges, and you can keep moving you fingers across the screen and it just goes on. Slicing nothing and it will give a score. What is supposed to be learned ??? Sight words that never come all out on screen and slice or move finger over screen to what purpose if it just goes on. If you want to have your child learn sight words find something better than this and do not get this one..Version: 2.0

Pretty 😎 COOLGotta admit that this education game has got some talent. When I was younger, I use to hate English and especially like sight word stuff. Then I started to use this game when I was like 5 and I 💖 LOVED ENGLISH!.Version: 2.0

What a wasteIt says the words aloud but most of the time the word being said is not the word on the screen. I don't think it has any educational value at all..Version: 2.0

Sound doesn’t workThis could be a great app - if the sound actually worked. Super lame for an app that requires sound to play and isn’t free..Version: 2.0

Waste of moneyThere is no sound and the words come across so quickly. My children slices them and doesn’t even see the words. Does not help with sight words at all. It is basically the same as fruit ninja but with a bigger target..Version: 2.0

No soundMo sound. Is there supposed to be sound?.Version: 1.1

Cute—No Learning InvolvedLike others said, my kids just mindlessly swipe every word as it comes up. My littlest does just as well as the older kids. I wish it worked. The graphics are cute!.Version: 2.0

Should be freeThe ONLY thing this does; is say the word as it floats across the screen as your child chops it. I think he was just relentlessly taping/slicing and not paying any attention to the words! Literally that’s it! $1.99 waste of $. It does NOTHING ELSE!.Version: 2.0

No soundIt has potential but the sound doesn’t work every time you open the app. Major flaw..Version: 2.0

Needs fixing / updatingI think the concept of this game is fantastic. I was disappointed in some other reviews noted that the sound doesn’t always work. I question why it is still on the App Store. If this is the case that it needs fixing and checking the version update it says five years ago. Does this mean the app is no longer being maintained? So once again, why is it still on the App Store if it is not working properly. It’s a pity, because it has great potential..Version: 2.0

Settings bugCan't get into settings with the three finger tap in order to set level etc. (Nothing happens). Otherwise seems like a great app..Version: 1.1

Customer Service?Purchased the app, had an excited kid ready to practice, and then ran into issues. Emailed customer service weeks ago with no reply..Version: 2.0

Bores quicklyMy five year old who loves Fruit Ninja enjoyed slicing the words and scored well, but when there was nothing that happened after it (no “unlocking” different levels, or no variation of the game) he was quickly bummed and doesn’t want to play it again. I rarely pay for apps, and this is an example of why. I just wasted $2 for 2 minutes of game time..Version: 2.0

So disappointingIt doesn’t go through the words before you play the game. Kids are just randomly swiping words and not learning. Waste of money, expected more..Version: 2.0

No sound. No point.I don’t understand how the kids are supposed to learn anything by just touching words and watching them get cut in half? Is there something I am missing?.Version: 2.0

Waste of moneyThe sound randomly works and doesn’t work. The game is basically just fruit ninja with words. The kid just can just swipe all over to cut words and since the sound rarely works there’s no real learning happening. Pointless $2 spent..Version: 2.0

Terrible- do NOT waste your moneyAfter reading the reviews from alleged teachers and parents, I bought this app for my son. What a joke. It’s just words flying that he taps- no reading, no thoughtful learning or review and not at all engaging. After five minutes, he put it down and has no interest in it- and this is a kid who would do just about anything for screen time! If I could give it zero stars, I would..Version: 2.0

No soundI normally read reviews first, but remembered my friend talking about this app, so I bought it without reading first. BIG MISTAKE, there’s no sound so I was trying to figure out what I was suppose to do since it cute everything. Such a waste. Hopefully they update it..Version: 2.0

No soundThe sound doesn’t work. It would be a great game if the sound worked consistently.Version: 2.0

Was great...now it’s notUsed to be a wonderful app until sudden the sound doesn’t work anymore have uninstalled and reinstalled but still nothing it’s absolutely useless now....such a shame that no one maintains this app..Version: 2.0

No soundI read the reviews, crossed my fingers, and hoped I wouldn’t be one of the unlucky few without sound.... and found that there was no sound, so you don’t know which words to slice! I went through & meticulously followed the troubleshooting. No luck. I immediately emailed the company and got a response about a week later with the same troubleshooting cut & paste they posted in their review responses. I replied back asking for a refund and it’s now 2+ weeks later. If you can’t fix the bug, at least honor a refund request!.Version: 2.0

Not a challenge at allThey say a word and the words pops up on the screen so slow that it becomes the only option for a child to swipe. There is no challenge the child just has to keep swiping. I would say this is only to help become more familiarized with words..Version: 2.0

DisappointedI bought this app because I read that I could add my own sight words. Not the case here. You can turn their provided words on/off in settings. You cannot add your own. I’d like a refund..Version: 2.0

The sound doesn’t always work. How is my 5 year old supposed to chop the correct word if she can’t hear what the word is?? I don’t normally pay for apps but she really wanted this game so I gave it a shot! Not worth the $1.99.Version: 2.0

I have a lot of complaintsIt doesn’t repeat any words from what I can tell so it is too many different words in one session. The child probably isn’t retaining anything. MANY of the words cannot fully be seen because they don’t fully come out from the sides into the middle area. So boring!! Nothing changes, there are no new backgrounds to unlock, no cool swords or ways to slice or different voices.. characters.. nothing! No kid wants to play this.. If my child is in pre school, i have to go into the settings and turn off all the first, second, and third grade words one at a time which is a pain. I wish you could just turn them off by grade level..Version: 2.0

Doesn’t actually teach or quizI thought there would be more than one word at a time on the screen and the kid would have to choose the correct one matching the spoken word. Nope. The word floats around and all you have to do is slice it. My kids got bored and began arbitrarily slicing and not even waiting for the full word to come into view. It doesn’t provide any phonics instruction. Total waste of money.Version: 2.0

Not for learning sight wordsMindless, wasted time! This is not designed for learning. What a shame, it had potential. Designed for kids to swipe back and forth on the screen until everything gets cut up. CHILDREN WONT BOTHER READING. Setting the app level did not work. Microphone access ? Why, that did nothing..Version: 2.0

No soundLike some others, I was hoping I would get lucky and there would be sound. There wasn’t. I don’t understand how they can’t or won’t fix this. Waste of $2..Version: 2.0

What is the purpose of this appThis was a waste of $2. I thought there’d be some option to have the app read the word when it is chopped - nope it’s totally silent. Also would be nice the be able to customize which words are on the list..Version: 2.0

No soundThe sound stopped working after the first time I tried it. You also can’t add words that are missing from their premade lists..Version: 2.0

No custom lists of wordsThis game needs the ability to add your own child’s specific sight words that they are studying in school to help them study for tests..Version: 2.0

Not for beginnersYour child will have to know all the sight words before being able to play this game. It is not a learning app to help your child actual learn sight words..Version: 2.0

Sound stopped working; gameplay lameI had some hopes for this, but the sound cut out permanently after one day of use. The gameplay also doesn’t make sense - why permit the wrong word to be sliced at all, or without consequence? A waste of $2..Version: 2.0

Lacking in 1 very important thing:The SoundAt first this app was great and my dAughter and I loved it. After about a week the sound didn't' work no matter what I did to try and fix it. If the company fixes this, I would recommend it highly..Version: 2.0

Do not buyI know it’s only $1.99 but it is a waste of $$$. The only good thing about it is the concept. My child was totally into it. However, the app works by the narrator reading each word and the kid just slices the word. My child just swiped all the words as fast as she could. There was no word repetition or word grouping. This does not help a kid retain the info. Also, as another reviewer stated, you cannot turn words off without clicking each word or an ability to set the level of the “reader”. The only way we were able to make it work was to turn the sound off and I said my child could not swipe until they read the word correctly. This required me to be by their side the whole time. May as well just buy flash cards! Clearly this was not developed by an actual educator! Great concept but terrible execution..Version: 2.0

Do not buyThis app is great in theory but the follow through isn’t. The words stay on the side and aren’t fully visible. Defeats the purpose. Also, the words in the word bank are not the words my child needs to know. I wish there was an option to type my own words. My son would slice the correct word and not get points and sometimes get points for the wrong words. Do not waste your money..Version: 2.0
