✓ Missing crucial featuresWhile I love the idea of location-based (“Where”) reminders, this app is missing a fundamental feature and is extremely limited in another, related feature. First, when a location-based reminder fires, there is no way to “snooze” until the next time you are at that location (a “Later” or “Next Time” button). If I pass a store where I have a reminder but I don’t have time to stop now, the app whines and whines and whines and whines, even after I’m out of range of the store. The only way I can stop it is to mark the reminder as _DONE_!! Stupid. I also want the Later button to be big and easy so I can use it without too much thought or action. Add to that the exactly TWO choices of snooze time: a MINUTE or an HOUR. Really? Hint to developers: when thinking of snoozing, think non-linear progression: 1, 10, 30, 60 minutes; 3, 6, 12 hours, etc. A nitpick: If you set a date on a Where reminder, there is no obvious way to remove it. I don’t really care about the lists or time-based reminders, I get those elsewhere. If I missed something, then the fault is in their UX or docs, because I can’t find it. ✓ Almost perfectFinally an app with location, recurring and list based reminders/to-do. The downside. These things are still separate. I would like to have a list of items recurring based on location. This is still not possible. This is a good app, it's just missing this feature I would really like to see. The recurring tasks don't clearly show you which ones are due. When marked as done they still stay in place. Location alerts have gone off when arriving at a location in the same small town, but not at the correct location. This is a problem I had with the original Checkmark. The app can have a badge number for tasks that are due, but upon launching the app nothing directs you to where those tasks are. I'll add more notes as I use the app, but it appears my initial excitement for a new version of Checkmark blinded me of the issues. ✓ Hardly worth the upgrade priceA valuable tool but the way it's been marketed hides this tool's rather obvious flaws and (to my mind) unfinished functionality. Yes, there are categorised lists, but seemingly no way to categorise timed or location reminders. I had assumed the developers might have thought that I occasionally had deadlines at work or for personal things. Right now this tool won't allow you to separate them; if I add an item to a List, I can edit its title and notes but not set a reminder. Correspondingly, why can't I categorise a timed reminder? ✓ Disappointed in new versionI loved the previous version of Checkmark, so when I saw the new one come out I was excited to see the new features. However I have had nothing but trouble with the app crashing. I also cannot rearrange the locations as advertised (plus the screen seems to get stuck in move mode). ✓ Good, but...I wish there was a way to set up a reminder time and not a "due time" reminder...I need to be reminded when to start things, not to end them. ✓ Pretty good, needs improvementsI like this app, but a few things need to be added. 1. Recurring Location based reminders 2. iPad compatibility, I would expect a paid app to function in both iPhone and iPad 3. Smaller range for location based reminders, 100 meters seems a little large 4. An urgency rating that shows whisk things are more important 5. Recording tasks showing up in "done." If a recurring task is done, I want it to show that I completed it that day, then clear it when the day ends 6. Location based reminders that only go into affect during a certain time frame. Ex: remind me to clean house when I get home between 3 and 6 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays every week. 7. Maybe an additional color theme (optional). This certainly isn't something that would determine whether or not I buy an app, but I still think it would be nice to have. Other than that, great. It seems like I brought up a lot if things, but the app is very functional, and I wouldn't have realized those things were missing if the app hadn't already had some of the features it has. I get that geofencing is a tricky thing, but I rarely ind this app to work for location-based reminders. Maybe it's because I'm in a city and stick within the same 4 mile radius most if the time, but I can be across town and get a reminder for something I needed to do at home. But when I travel home I won't get any sort of reminder at all. ✓ Does not have needed featuresI needed to have an alarm when I reach a defined location. This app will alarm a specified timer AFTER you've reached the location. It has no feature to detect when you are within a specified distance from a location. Further, you cannot specify a location by dropping a pin on the map: you have to be at the location to set it, or it has to be a Contacts address. LLIFTTT does all of the above and more. I ride a bus to work, and need to warned when the bus is about to arrive at my stop so I can put down my book and get off. LIFTTT does this, but not Checkmark 2..Dave McAVersion: 2.0.3

✓ Prefer clearThe app had plenty of promise however it didn't do enough to get me off Clear. There are no advanced gestures that I can use, I have to do too many touches to simply navigate around. The menu animation is off-putting and heavy, and I wonder why it even exists to be honest. ✓ OK, but seems poorly implementedIt's okay for basic reminders but doesn't really do anything you can't already do with the native app. Even some of the things it shows you can do in screenshots just don't seem to be possible once you've installed the app. E.g. it doesn't seem possible to ask you to remind you to do something when you arrive somewhere on after a certain time. Eg remind me to put the trash out when I get home on Thursday evenings (and this is pretty common example) But worst of all the developers also don't seem to know how to use Geo Fencing properly. Rather than using Geo Fencing it seems to fire up and full location monitoring the whole time the app is installed, which drains your iPhones battery in just a few hours (even on days when you have no location event scheduled at all). This means I can't really use it at all unless I leave my phone permanently plugged in. No other location based reminder app seems to have this problem..Nmg196Version: 2.0.2

✓ Not recommendedUpdate 2019: do not buy this app. I don’t think the developer updates it any more, and it is riddled with so many bugs and problems it is essentially useless. This app is very pretty. That's really why I bought it, since Reminders is sufficient for my needs, but ugly. Well, it turns out I swapped looks for function, and it was definitely not worth the $. First, a lot of people love the location based reminders, but I cannot use them at all. All of my "where's" keep occasionally activating when I'm just sitting at home. Maybe just a bug which will get fixed? Maybe. Next, and most important to me, Checkmark 2 cannot do two simple things that reminders can: you can't check off a recurring task until after it is due (no getting your tasks done early!), and you cannot add a task without entering an exact time. Sometimes I want to see a task on my "When" list but don't yet know the exact time I want to schedule it for, so that's a bummer. I regret the purchase so far. Reminders is better. I hope to see improvements because I do like the way this app looks. Update: I am now able to check off tasks which I complete early. Hooray! ✓ Okay but requires improvements1. The startup Checkmark logo should be removed to enable the user to get to the main functionality quicker. I already know the name of the app from the text underneath the logo. 2. One should be able to set the default start page in Settings. For instance, I would like for it to open up on the List screen. 3. There should be an option to move/copy inserted to-do's from one main List to another. 4. When amending a previously inserted to-do in Lists, one should be able to see the entire text. At the moment, only a part of the text is visible over a single line. Practically speaking, to-do's are continually changing so being able to easily amend a previous insert is critical. ✓ Missing basic functionality.Prefers simplicity over function. So for example: ---you CANNOT create a task without being forced to add a due date or location. There is no option in settings, you MUST enter a due date and time or location. -There is NO option to star tasks! -You CANNOT move tasks between lists, you just have to cut and paste if you want to move a task to a different list. Cut and paste is not realistic if you want to get things done quickly. -The app will continue to notify you even if you don't need a due date. And so on. It looked really good and the design is nice but I got caught up in the hype of it being high in App Store charts. Certainly wouldn't buy it again. ✓ Alerts no longer workCheckmark 1 worked very well… but while version 2 adds features, the alerts no longer work at all - except the icon badge. In version 1, when you added an item to a location, and then reached that location, an alert would appear on the screen and an alarm would sound. Now, all you get is an icon badge.
