Amazing sounds, brilliant sound sets….But crashes on iPad Mini 6So frustrating this one. The sounds are brilliant, clever interface, and loads of excellent add on packs. However after just a while of using it as an Au3 plugin in Cubasis the plugin crashes and disappears. Cubasis stays open, and I have to then reload the plugin. Happens in standalone too but not as often. I’m guessing it’s the new iPad Mini 6. As soon as the issues are sorted this will be a 5 star review..Version: 2.2.15

When will this app have Bluetooth? This is an amazing app and musical instrument. One of the best. I have many of the others. My question is with all the others I have Bluetooth Audio. I’ve had this app for months, but can’t get it to work with my Boss Bluetooth Headphones. I never carry around corded Headphones 🎧. Left them a long time ago. Would love a reply or a suggestion as to what I may be missing here (hear) lol..Version: 2.2.4

Not worth itVery very basic with lots of in app purchases. Should be free really. If it had recordable automation of parameters and effects then i could easily bump it up a star or two. Caustic or Gadget are way more worth your while. Given the time you are typically willing to spend with stuff just save your pennies and get something good..Version: 1.0.3

Downloading packsFun toy to play with over a coffee ..downloading packs for this is a joke, forget it they take forever and I mean forever...Still waiting..Version: 2.2.4

Terribly disappointedThis is by far THEE most complex app on the internet. NOT USER FRIENDLY!!!!! I have been trying for three days and it still doesn’t play music. It will not play from my MIDI. I have gone through Manuel and no help. DO NOT GET THIS APP!!!!! You will go crazy trying to get it to work.... if you ever do.DO NOT BUY.Version: 2.2.11

I love it in standalone..hate it as an auv3It’s constantly crashing when I load it as an auv3 in almost any host app. The sounds are amazing and I love using it but find myself having to add an extra step of bouncing my midi to audio due to the frequency of the instrument crashing when I try to load the whole project. I thought this would’ve been fixed by now. Fix this issue and I have nothing but good things to say..Version: 2.2.16

DO NOT BUYNO SOUND PACKS AT ALL JUST BASIC PRE LOAD, THERES NOTHING IN THE PACKS. BM2 FULLY LOADED I FEEL REALLY RIPPED OFF.Version: 2.1.3

Not easy to learnI don’t find this program intuitive at all. I like to see how fast I can get something happening without taking a week doing research and watching countless videos. I can’t even get started ..Version: 2.2.7

Good, but...there’s a bug in the sequencerThere’s a bug in the sequencer. Sometimes playing pads stops the pattern playing. Fix this and the rest is awesome..Version: 2.2.12

No that happyAttempted to buy piano paid £8 Get this received just 8 notes that's a pound A note swines be warned.Version: 1.1.1

It’s okI for some reason thought that there was a piano roll and it was a little disappointing. I think I did read the print to realize it was just samples. The rating I gave was based on the UI not the sounds. I’m probably just going to get the big kid version when I get the money..Version: 2.2.12

Good Product, Bad DownloadsI have to agree with other reviewers here - downloading the IAPs is a very painful process. I like the App overall, but it really lets itself down when you try to buy something. It really should let you know immediately that you have pressed the purchase button and there should be an obviouse way to know what actually registered..Version: 2.2.7

I’ve integrated this into my work flow over the last 2 yearsIt’s a great app with some of the nicest sounding sample packs for sale on iOS . There is just one glaring issue with the app, the piano roll is a laggy mess in AUV3 at least on my iPad Pro 10.5, it’s been like this forever. Try to move a note on the piano roll and random notes appear. I wish the piano roll was closer to NanoStudio 2s design which is flawless execution. I’ve spent more on this app than any other music app, so I would expect the bugs to eventually be worked out. Haven’t yet..Version: 2.2.9

Don't buy if you have an iPad miniThe screen doesn't work and there are not tracks preset. Not worth it..Version: 2.0.0

Could be much better!!Pros Ease of use(pads) Amazingly realistic samples Samples are polished (rarely more Eq/comp is required Versatile IAP’s (a good reason why you should buy this app) Noise IAPs for example overlap a lot Cons Poor costumer service (compared to other iOS developers out there) In a pack .. a bugged loop is never far away Not the greatest midi implementation Writing a small drum fill is so painstaking Does not play great with other chord midi apps Step Sequencer is not user friendly Very limited FX Rudimentary song mode Groove Rider is a far better option to play live.Version: 2.2.9

It's okay when it works.V2.2.9(1) Full functioning Sample player with piano roll, sequencer and song editor. It does what's promised and the sounds are good enough with some nice IAPs (occasionally on sale) like strings, choirs, India and Asia sound packs that i think are unique compared to SampleTank. The interface is adequate but a little "stiff" feeling with a slightly cumbersome with page sized backgrounds and button sprites, not dynamically drawn, but I rely on those features elsewhere. HOWEVER.... On my iPhone X the keys triggering fails often on the piano pad styled layout requiring double taps, it's definitely software issue (perhaps not updated for iPhoneX screen ). Until this issue is fixed on the iPhone, jamming is impossible to rely on and composing as you record your key presses isn't a pleasant experience and therefore can't recommend. On my iPad Air2, it works as expected..Version: 2.2.9

Needs to be optimisedThe description says that the app requires iPad 4 or newer, however with iPad Mini (same generation as iPad 4) the app doesn't run smoothly, very often while playing complex arrangements I have very evident audio glitches and sometimes the audio drops completely. I still give 3 stars as encouragement since this app is really feature complete (unlike e.g. iMachine which is just a toy) so I hope it will get better. However it's not ready for serious use because of the aforementioned glitches..Version: 1.0.2

Limited compared to Beatmaker 2 and impc pro and othersThis needs a sequencer you can't edit anything you record and can't map my MPC Elements to work with it please add Midi learn..Version: 1.1.0

Keeps crashingGreat app but keeps crashing! Using latest iPad Air 2 with 2gb memory and it shouldn't be crashing so often if at all. Very frustrating when taking time creating samples only to loose them on a crash. Some of the add on samples are also over priced. Do a discount on block purchase. I'd have them all at a better price but not until you sort the crashing out..Version: 1.0

Very app. But not working on iPad mini 2021Disappointed that the menu function is literally unusable on the iPad mini 2021. This makes this app completely useless on that device. I will ask for a refund since I’m not interested in using it on other platforms..Version: 2.2.13

Great idea poor performaceSimply put the app has got serious performance issues especially while playing back a complex project. If you have an ipad 3 or below don't buy it or you'll regret it!Wished I've never bought it.Version: 1.0

Misleading description and screenshots.Buy it - you'll soon see why, and like me will immediately be requesting a refund..Version: 1.0

Almost PerfectI’d give this 5 stars if I could auto-populate drum kit sounds onto the 16 pads when loaded. Why in the world would this not be an option for a virtual drum machine? If you want to spend hours building kits manually pad by pad, this is for you. If you expect that when you click “Load Kit” all drum sounds will auto-populate the 16 pads, this app is NOT for you..Version: 2.2.9

I do not recommend itI feel like I lost my money with that program. Let me wrap myself when I listen to the sound libraries they offer. They actually overlooked many details. you only have 16 pads for your projects that really don't go at all unless you want to make a ring tone you cannot chop your own loops if you want to make your own rhythms 16 pads are not enough you cannot route your samples you cannot make multis layers you cannot identify your own rhythms you cannot name or enumerate them if you could export your rhythms in wav or aiff format to continue using the pads but you can't either I was very disappointed I do not recommend it they should do an update or a plugin taking into account all these details too limited.Version: 2.2.9

DisappointedThis is really not what I thought it’d be. After leaving the app for just a few seconds it reloads. Integration with DAWs is not intuitive. The double touching in the sound explorer, like someone else mentioned, is very annoying. I do like the ability to record sounds directly in the app then edit them in the same window. Unfortunately, the bad outweigh the good for me right now. Hopefully, this changes soon..Version: 2.2.9

Importing is a nightmareDon’t get me wrong this app is good fun and functional, but I wonder if the importing limitations are a conscience decision to encourage people to buy the dreaded In-app Purchases instead of importing your own? Currently if you import via cloud/Dropbox then you can only do 1 file at a time!! How insane is that? If you do it via iTunes you can import multiple files, but they all go in the root folder, this renders it useless as you end up with just a massive list of file names with no organisation. Shame really as this renders it useless to my as I can’t get my samples in. Oh and I noticed a quirk when importing longer loops it doesn’t let you edit the sample to change it to a one shot, it just loops it and you can’t edit the loop points... odd.Version: 2.2.7

Poor performanceLooks promising, but very poor performance. Will not run demo songs at all on ipad 3...shame, but needs serious optimisation..Version: 1.0

BrokenWhat used to be a great app to use for quality sounds via Audiobus into Cubasis should have been even better with AUv3 but now, on my iPad Pro, it doesn’t even want to start in Audiobus and don’t get me started on AUv3 state saving. Very frustrated. I want to like it but it is not easy to do that at the moment!.Version: 2.2.9

Close but no cigar.Love the app and the sounds. Hate the keyboard. Give us a standard black and white keyboard. on the bottom of the screen. Hard to read information due to the colour scheme of the whole UI. Needs big pop up window for waveform editing..Version: 1.1.1

Rubbish app. This piece of junk doesn't work anymore, and the company that built it has hightailed it out of town, Ridiculous..Version: 1.1.1

Super disappointedI have been making beats/songs in GarageBand and had been getting to the point where I was running out of sounds when I found out about using other Apps as Audio Unit Extensions via GarageBand. After buying this app, I quickly realized that the way it is set up with pads renders usability of instruments useless. You can basically only set up 16 pads/sounds and that’s it. If I am missing something, I would love be told and shown different. Also, it’s disappointing and misleading that it comes with a small amount of instruments and yet plenty of instrument/sound packs to purchase. The UI needs substantial improvement along with its interactivity with GarageBand. With lots of improvements, I’d be happy to change my rating. That or just let GarageBand add your sounds to their library..Version: 2.2.9

Crashes ALOTLove the sounds, hate having to race to print them to tracks before that AUV3 crashes! IAA seems stable, but I prefer separate faders for my instruments. Maybe I’m missing something? So I install it, work with it, then get frustrated and delete it. But then there’s that one thing I need for the next tune that makes me install it again. Can we get it to work better? Is there someplace to submit crash or bug reports?.Version: 2.2.16

Acoustic Grand in-App purchase not downloading.IPad Air 2 128gb user. Thanks for the new user manual it really useful? Bought the in-App Acoustic Grand only rec'd 1 preset with 10 samples. What's going on? Bug fix fast please!.Version: 1.0.3

PASTE ALL NO LONGER WORKS 😒That’s the reason I love the app so much please make that work again and I’ll give you five stars no problem.Version: 2.2.8

Truly brokenI’ve used and enjoyed Beathawk for years and have purchased many sound packs. With the last release the app has become unusably unstable as an AUv3 app. I’ve contacted support several times over several months and they report no progress on a diagnosis or a fix. My advice: do not invest unless you are ok with frequent crashes. Very sad..Version: 2.2.15
