Awesome launch featuresGreat sound with some great features...cant wait to see this one develop over time....Version: 1.0

More than u expect😆Looking for a beat type app to provide additional rhythm track. Recently purchased Mach 5 on Mac, this is perfect and a lot more. SampleTankish but different , more nice sound, on a iPad, u gotta try it, correct me if I'm wrong?.Version: 2.0.0

PhenomenalI've been creating mobile electronic music for quite a long time, ever since the first Korg Trinity. Jump forward 20 years and mobile music has evolved tremendously and now we have the king of touchscreen tech in the iPad. There are seemingly thousands of music-making apps available for the iPad. Some are fantastic, some are downright loathsome. Finding a high-quality, truly useful app is like finding a needle in a haystack. Enter BeatHawk. Made by desktop software aficionados UVI, Beathawk is a perfect blend of simplicity and sophistication. The sound engine is 2nd to none and its usability leaves most other apps in the dust. I'm blown away. Plus, being able to load BeatHawk as an AudioUnit in a more robust DAW like Cubasis is the icing on the cake. I’ve actually started using it as a go-to AU rompler as well. The only downside I see is the amount of money I'm going to spend on IAP purchases 😂.Version: 2.1.2

Great new releaseIt’d be a five star easily if it allowed us to categorize the loops we bring in. As of now that doesn’t appear to be possible. The functionality and workflow is pretty awesome..Version: 1.0

Looks great, works great, powerful, simple work flow, great price...butWas super disappointed when I realised it didn't go into an output slot in Audiobus! So the old slow way of using Audiocopy is the flow stoping way to get audio from other apps in. Please let people put your app to better use, this hot app would go better as the brain than the hat..Version: 1.0.4

One of the bestStability is great for a music making application. It’s not optimized for the display of iPhone 11 but it’s not a problem considering this app is more stable than 99 percent of apps that are optimized for iPhone 11. Amazing sounds, amazing quality. I hope this app continues to receive updates and support for years to come..Version: 2.2.9

Cool and great sounding little grooveboxI think it may be a bit under rated but has its charm.Version: 2.2.13

Great AppThis is a cool app for getting ideas and inspiration. It’s really fun to use and can get it making some excellent sounds. The sound packs are really nice but not worth spending the money on as the work flow when wanting to use with other iOS music apps is made frustrating by the fact you can’t directly access the the sound packs using the iOS file system. BeatHawk has a poor and outdated file management. I’d purchase more audio packs if It was much easier to use them in other apps too. Obviously it’s possible export sound but the work flow is really clunky. You also need eyes like a hawk to see some of the icons and text. That said, this app is great value for money and really easy to get making fun beats and sounds, it’s likely you’ll have loads of fun using it..Version: 2.2.13

Incredible Functionality for such a low price!!!Wow! Yes please! Amazing app / truly opens up what the iPhone is capable of with uploading custom samples! And much more! Amazing app! Thank you so much for making this!!!!!!!!! You deserve more- I hope that you’re making bank off this!!!.Version: 2.2.10

Love BeathawkSince the latest updates the app has been running very well. I haven't full dove into all the features yet, but you can do a lot with the included sounds, you can buy more and I think you add your own samples but I haven't yet. The workflow took some getting used to but became pretty smooth once I got the hang of it. The exporting options are great too. Start something here, finish it on my computer..Version: 2.0.3

Great at what it does but Would like to see added featuresThe workflow for what it does is amazing! There needs to be additional pad banks and a convenient way to chop long samples. If they figure out how to add this without ruining the workflow this could be like a spiritual successor to old School MPCs. I’d gladly pay more if they added these features..Version: 2.2.9

Very FlexibleOne of the cool things about the old classic analog drum machines from Roland and Kong was that they allowed you to select multiple rhythms and create new complex beats. Selecting multiple beats on separate pads and playing them tempo locked together gives cool results. Well done UVI!.Version: 2.2.2

It really is goodI’ve been using BeatHawk from the first version and the way you can just quickly get your ideas going to the quality of the sounds you get and the in app purchases this is an excellent app. With arguably the best sequencer out there in iOS Land IMHO it’s an almost complete music system. If this had multi outs although you can export stems but it’s not the same and a more extensive sample editor it would be off the chain. As it is for what you can do and the quality of the sounds it’s still an excellent production one stop shop and the results are professional. If they ever implement those updates which I doubt they will it really would be all you need..Version: 2.2.15

Excellent appGreat sound packs. So easy and intuitive. Other than no ability to favourite samples..Version: 2.1.0

Actually Fun to Make MusicSeeing it live on the Sound Test Room is what brought me here. Like you, I wasn’t sure about this app (no update for a year as of 7/20 :/ ) and read most of the reviews. After an afternoon of learning the UI, experimenting, and creating - I recommend it, enough so that I am writing a review. I’m glad I spent the 5 bucks because I’ve been bobbing (bopping?) my head for hours having fun making music. It puts me into a DJ-type groove and it’s hard to stop playing. Why I like BeatHawk: inserting samples by controlling pitch and gate at the same time makes it easy to experiment and add elements to a pattern; the layout and workflow make sense, good UX; it’s AUV3..Version: 2.2.9

Very goodEasy and intuitive to use. Best on well specced devices..Version: 2.0.1

Loving it!This app is so intuitive and fun to use, while powerful and flexible. Works great on my iPad Pro!.Version: 2.2.2

All good now,The app itself downloaded quickly. Adding the various packs (in-app purchases) is a joke. Will they download? Will they download today? Will something ever download? Do I need to keep restarting? It can hours. I wish I was joking. Just to follow up...I just bought the India pack (200 Mb) and that downloaded in a couple of minutes without any problem at all. So, whatever was wrong before, it seems to have sorted itself. BTW, I've discovered that you can use these sound packs in other apps if you want to...eg, in GarageBand (many of you would already know that, but I've just found out).Version: 2.0.3

Best drum machineThis is the best drum machine app I’ve used in IOS. Whats really great about Beat Hawk is it is compatible as a Audio Unit in Cubasis 3. I haven’t found another one that can do this yet. They have a variety of sounds and expansion libraries. You can also port your own VST/ Virtual Instruments and samples into it. The user interface is very easy to understand. They should allow unlimited amount of pads per project, but if your tracking into Cubasis 3 you can work around it by creating new tracks in Cubasis. I’m excited to see Beat Hawk developers continue to grow in IOS..Version: 2.2.9

Amazing workflow!!The best music app I've used out of the many I've tried. It has the perfect balance between ease of use, and the quality of end product. You can quick bang out ideas, spend time crafting a song, and if you need too export to multitrack via iTunes for clean-up on your PC. It's also really fun to use! I would like to see the ability to share finished multitrack export with Dropbox, multiple tracks in song mode, and the ability to change the start point of a loop in song mode. Cheers!.Version: 1.1.1

Great sequencer for AUMMidi out and improved scaling for Au3 (audio unit) has made this a perfect sequencer for AUM to go along side other new midi plugins being developed recently.. and it also has quality sounds and sound packs.. Still has few minor glitches like buzzing noise when record is enabled, but sure they will get addressed. overall great app easy to use and understand that I’m finding a lot of fun.Version: 2.2.1

Great App I regret purchasing the instrument sound packs.Drum sound packs are great and that’s it . These are the first sounds I bought on iOS and wanted my money back .i would recommend buying drum hawk for drumming only . Sound packs are kind of weak and not worth it.Version: 2.2.15

Please auto-saveI will give you 5 stars for auto save. Its that important. I have Cubasis and its more practical of a program. Guess I am spoiled because it autosaves and so with beathawk i lost what i was working on too many times because i am not used to hitting the save button . At least you could put it where its visible so we dont forget. On the positive side, this is otherwise a user friendly app . Are you really honestly creating music when you use the provided or purchased backing riffs etc. ? Sorry, I know many programs and apps do that and it is apparently accepted generally. Of course it does make things easy. If you want to make techno, rap , game music this is it and fast !.Version: 2.2.9

Beat hawk let’s keep it rollingThere already enough good sounds I promise let’s get mixer give us new features not more sounds y’all I love the sound of U v i all the rest my music apps were on back burner till beat maker 3. But beat hawk is a great app y’all. Lot people don’t know about the app I told my brother law he just got it He say man I wish I would have gotten it long time ago.Version: 2.2.9

Fun for beat-based musicFilled with great sounds, and there’s an option to buy additional sound sets. Makes it easy to generate the elements for a track, and to mix and match them in a modular structure. Stable and responsive..Version: 2.2.2

This app is a beast! Not only can you use the app’s samples and buy more if you want to, you can record or import your own. Using it as an auv3 in another app (DAW), you get access to all those sounds. The kicker is you can play this app like a synth, piano or ROMpler; load a library sound to a pad, set it to pitched/keyboard mode and record on your MIDI keyboard (if you have one) - going through the sounds is a joy - so much versatility in this app. I feel like I’m playing a workstation rather than a beat machine. If it seems overwhelming, stick with it, coz it really gives back. I love this thing. I use it on multiple tracks now..Version: 2.2.13

Good app but could do with some added bitsGreat little app and nice work flow. I would like to see some additions that would make it great: Sample chop to reduce down some of my longer samples (less load on the app). Dropbox support for sample loading. Audio bus in for recording other apps. Also pattern data resized from both ends in song mode so you can do edits. It's a shame as You can play these out in patten mode by hitting between patterns though the bars - makes for some nice variations.Version: 1.1.1

One of the better appsThis app is really quite nice and versatile, it can do it all really well. Easy and fun to use, worth exploring. One of my favourites..Version: 1.1.1

SweetWorth every penny, no regrets.Version: 2.0.5

BrillBrill.Version: 2.2.16

Great AppExcellent UI and sounds, appreciate the expansion packs. Would like to see more options for mixing and side chaining in the future, but this is one of the best music apps on iOS..Version: 2.2.9

Best IOS Groove Box So Far...This should have more and higher praise! If you read the manual properly you will learn how to operate it. The samples are tops quality. It is the only app that has no piano roll that I have enjoyed. More features, more sample sets and more effects will make this a big player if only people give it a chance. I truly hope UVI continue to support this great little app. It isn't available in Audiobus for me (I have an iPad Air) but Inter app audio works fine. I hope this is fixed at some point... The in app purchases are highly priced for some but anyone who has programmed music on a computer will see this as an economic option. In this case, you certainly get what you pay for. 😉.Version: 1.0.3

Professional Grade Studio QualityVery fortunate to have this on iOS platform. This is an for grown ups. Stunning quality sounds and dazzling GUI. This app led the way in the most important aspects of Groove box evolution on iOS. Don’t skip the IAPs, worth it for real!.Version: 2.2.2

The one I've waited forVery well laid out- creating beats, loops, medlodies is easy with the user friendly interface. I've tried many loop type programs and this one allows me to compose the entire song consistency throughout the mix. I've searched the reviews on youtube and my experience has been very similar to the video's I've watched. Truly a great app IMHO.Version: 1.0

Lots of Fun!!!Great little app for making beats on the road. Looking forward to watching this app grow and more functionality being added..Version: 1.0.2

Could be my go to sequencer pretty soon…UVI has always been one of my favorite vst/vsti developers. They always have top notch sounds, so I expected nothing less when I purchased BeatHawk. Ide be the 1st to admit this was a bit of a learning curve for me, because I’m used to DAW sequencer set up for studio sessions (Reaper and Cubase). I originally bought it to use as an AUv3 drum machine plugin to use in Garage Band and BM3. Which it does work in that way, but the more I played with it as a plug-in, the more I dove into it as a stand-alone workstation. I eventually started using it in the way as it was intended, and the more I became attached to it. It’s simple to use but it can get complex when you really start to create. Not to mention, it’s a sexy looking UI and has top notch quality sounds that compliment it nicely. Way to go UVI! Now we need the UVI Workstation for iPad..Version: 2.2.15

AU, almost there.BeatHawk has some lovely sounds, and the idea of using them as AU is enticing. They load up beautifully under AUM. Alas, the settings are not being saved. Until this is fixed, BeatHawk is functionally crippled. Reloading half a dozen instances with the correct samples from memory takes all the joy out of the process. Nic.Version: 2.2.1

Amazing.I really enjoy making music, this is my side hobby when I’m not playing sports. This just took me to a whole other level in my composing journey. OUTSTANDING APP!!!!!!! Ong One thing I will say that will take it to the next level on the orchestral side if Legato was added 🤷🏾‍♂️ just saying………...Version: 2.2.16

Great app but buggyThis is a fantastic app bar a major bug for me in the repeat Quantise setting, don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this. When trying to change the quantise value, the setting just flashes and doesn’t change anything until I reboot then it seems to work well for a while. This renders this function useless really, try to save too and that flashes on selection also, until a reboot. Apart from those issues it’s a great tool, hope this can be addressed soon.Version: 2.2.16

Does the jobI use this primarily to make click tracks for live performances. Loading the projects is a long process and importing my own samples is a little weird in my opinion, but it does exactly as advertised. Don’t know why it took my so long to find this app lol..Version: 2.2.9

Deleted 2 weeks of workThe projects menu has a delete without a confirmation. I just lost 2 weeks worth of work. My fault, but I’ve not seen a one button delete before on files..Version: 2.2.9

A Fiver...It has let me create a wicked sounding bunch of songs that are my own personal playlist...sounds impressive and i’m happy..Version: 2.2.9

My faveRTFM: two-finger tapping on user samples will open up menu for deleting, renaning, etc. This is by far the quickest, easiest app for making a finished groove, a very satisfying experience for non musicians like myself. The drum sounds are top-notch and inspiring, so much so I haven't missed a piano roll yet. Some of the synth sounds have some nice evolving modulation built-in, stopping them from sounding sterile and dull, but it would be nice to have access to more modulation possibilities. The song mode still occasionally misses some sounds when the patterns change, I hope this gets fixed soon, as I have tried every audio configuration, to no avail, and I have an iPad Air. Will we get the ability to put together own kits? That would be a truly powerful tool. All in all, a very entertaining app..Version: 1.0.3

Great possibilities!--When this first came out I bought it and didn't like it, they refunded my money (Apple used to do this). Yesterday it was free so I thought what do I have to lose annd so with a much more experienced perspective to how to use the iPad and apps I found that this is great! I've bought a few of the iap's and loved them all so for me this is fun, easy to use and opens up a lot of possibilites for my duo. Thanks for making this free yesterday!!.Version: 2.1.0

Great ROMpler, but not updated in over a year... worriedExcellent interface. Amazing sound sets available at decent prices. Please, please, please update it for the latest iPhones. I’m hoping it’s not a sign of the end of support from UVI. 🤞.Version: 2.2.9

Update: I really dig this app, better than the first time I ratedThis app is great, flexible, and you can upload your own samples. I think it’s much better conceive than Sampletank. Stop blaming the apps people. Most often the user is the problem..Version: 2.2.9

Almost everything I was looking 4This production app is great! For the most part fairly easy and has some great sounds .All the exp packs are high quality and priced nice. Only thing I would love on a update is to be able to load a drum kit that feels all 16 pads. Also I would pay a upgrade fee for audio tracks to lay vocals instead of stemming this to cubasis 3 or reason or cubase in my laptop . Thanks for all your hard work ..Version: 2.2.9

Better than IMPCThanks for adding midi sync!😃👍.Version: 1.0.3

My wishesThis app is dope, loved it since it dropped, but now I don’t use it at all, it’s easy to pick up and has a dope sequencer. It’s easy to turn a sound into a keyboard. For me an update is over due, I’d like to be able to sample like on koala app, just hold a pad down to capture a sample, I don’t have time to drop box stuff that I could just work on my desktop to do, really? I also want to be able to chop samples again like koala. If u can’t update it then come out with version 2 of this app, it can still be a groove box cause koala sequencer is dumb, u guys got it right , and it’s more accessible than beatmaker, cubasis, etc, but we just need to grab quick samples and chop them up. If u did that this would once again be the number one app for me, and I think for so many as it’s not a steep learning curve and it would be a fun workflow..Version: 2.2.16

Good appI love the app I would give it 5 stars if the sound packs weren’t so expensive but overall one of my favorite go to Auv3’s definitely worth a try if you’re serious about mobile MusicProduction..Version: 2.2.9

It is absolutely fantasticI love to use beathawk, but i want to much more from beathawk to do such midi play or much more drum pattern lso may be song template.....but it is vitl to use for music production.Version: 2.2.9

Simple not basic, free not limitedHands down best value I can find for any iOS app similar for free or low cost that provide the functionality of a perfect iOS sampler for generating beats on the fly tbh.Version: 2.2.12

Simply put....Kontakt for iOS !!!!This app is by far the best all in one package for sequencing and just plain old making music. The integration as AUV3 within BeatMaker3 just makes it an even more valuable app to have. The amount of in-app purchase instruments and kits are phenomenal, sound amazing and are also priced reasonable. Just buy what you need!!! There’s a preview for all packs. [IMPORTING SAMPLES] I’ve seen a few people complain about the importing procedure of their own samples etc. When It’s actually more straight forward than it’s explained. Yes you can only import 1 FILE for iCloud etc. HOWEVER.... If you zip your sample kits it then becomes one file and you can then import that file to BeatHawks browser section. You then unzip and all your samples are there 😊 You can even make separate folders within BeatHawk by double tapping the projects tab and adding a new directory. Double tap your new directory folder, Import your zipped file and click unzip. Viola!!! Unzips In seconds (file size dependant) Then just delete the zip file and keep the unzipped. *********HANDY TIP******* Rather than creating a whole bunch of directories for kicks, snares, hats etc. When organising your files for zipping. Create one folder and within that folder create different folders for kicks, snares, claps etc. Because if you do it this way, when unzipping the zipped file your sample folders will be laid out nice and organised much like the apps instrument folders are. You’ll have everything nice and tidy so you don’t need to endlessly scroll down through non labelled samples killing your workflow. This methods handy if you have a lot of sound kits and want them separated..Version: 2.2.9

Top NotchGreat app and done right. Very responsive when contacted for app fixes and ideas. Would love to see some expansion to the sampler and more effects added for the sounds. Love to see where this app can continue to go and grow, maybe a built-in synth from your collection of products. Update: seeing the piano roll is still a little difficult pending on the light situation. One more request would be to allow chords progressions built in options. Hopefully there is a big update on the way..Version: 2.2.10

Useful AppBeathawk has many features I don’t use, including the built in sequencer, etc. What I do use if for is as an AUV3 sound engine for mainly acoustic instruments, of which there are many top-notch on offer in the app. Recommended..Version: 2.2.16

11 Inch iPad Pro Support?I use BeatHawk as a sound bank. I have purchased all of the sound packs as the sounds are very high quality (as you’d expect from UVI) and all very useable. The AUv3 functionality makes it easy to incorporate into your workflow. My first gripe is around the lack of support for the 11 inch iPad Pro display. The developer responded to this stating that this issue would be fixed in an upcoming update. However, following an update today that included “better support for newer devices”, the UI still does not fit the screen of my 11 inch iPad Pro. My second issue is the lack of Files app support. I would love to access the sounds I’ve bought and use them in other apps. I can do this with BeatMaker 3, I wish I could do it here too. Other than that, BeatHawk is a no-brainer..Version: 2.2.13

PhenomenalI really enjoy this program, especially the sound files that can be purchased; they, to me, are unique, and I appreciate what they have to offer for the type for music I create..Version: 2.2.4

ComprehensiveThis is a fascinating app. The sound libraries are really Excellent and the ability to create really complex patterns very quickly is awesome. This is a powerful and complex app which needs a bit of work to get the best form it but the effort is well rewarded..Version: 2.0.3

Can I still get the Latin percussion pack ?Hello is it still possible to get the above? Having looked carefully I can’t seem to find it..Version: 2.2.9

Updated IAP “Sale” Prices are higher than previous regular prices!Just as the Subject Line says - what’s up with Sale prices being much higher than the previous REGULAR prices? Why even advertise a “Sale” when it is anything BUT a Sale?.Version: 2.2.16

AmazingThe authentic realistic sound from many different genres, crisp clean 100% believable. A great addition to adding excitement or flair to your project while having the ability to create cinematic or theatrical themes. Very powerful I love this app.Version: 2.2.9

This is a MUST HAVEAs someone who produces and has Korg, Beat maker 3, and Cubasis. This app has the best interface and is the easiest to work. For this app to only be 10 is amazing to me. I would give it 4.5 stars because importing your own samples is a bit of a hassle but I could just be doing it wrong. I can do it but individually and not in mass. If you make beats getting a rough idea with this is a breeze. And if you own cubasis THIS IS A MUSTTTTT. It brings to you almost everything from Beat maker 3 into cubasis thus making cubasis the ultimate app. Having the pads and sequencing is a dream for cubasis and this app makes it true, Just wow 9.99 is a steal for this..Version: 2.2.8

BrilliantDefinitely one of my favorite music making apps, and I have most of them :) The IAP music packs are top notch as well, worth every penny. After browsing the manual for just a few minutes & watching the soundtestroom tutorial videos, I feel like I have a solid grasp of how it works. Its an extremely efficient and logical workflow , easy to get your head around & very inspirational. I consider Beathawk an essential app in the pantheon of iOS music making brilliance. Elite..Version: 2.1.3

Don't give up on usPlease don't give up on this app as it is really good I know it has got some problems with it but the sounds are 100% cool.Look forward to an update.Version: 2.2.9

So Versatile, Sounds So GoodBeathawk is nearly a DAW unto itself, and it’s songwriting structure w/ability to export stems is awesome. But these soundpacks sound SO good, and with AUv3 capabilities, it now serves as an awesome sound module. So create in their MPC-styled environment, then export to your favorite iDAW, or just plug it in as needed to access the amazing sample sets in your iDAW - either way, you are set. Also one of the best built-in global reverb/delay effects out there. Really makes the instruments shine. Top job, UVI!.Version: 2.1.2

Pure inspirationI love this app, it’s an amazing sketch pad for instant inspiration. The ability to export ableton, audio, midi stems is just super cool. I have purchased most of the packs now and they sound great. It’s amazing to be able to sit with an iPad, a set of headphones and a keyboard controller anywhere and write. I’d love to use a Cubase export function, some kind of simple mixer, option to set pitch bend range. It works a treat stand alone or as a plug-in inside NS2 etc. Hats off uvi for a truly speedy app to work with. Respect :-).Version: 2.2.9

BeatHawkProbably one of the best app I’ve used, and I’ve tried a few of them big thumbs up.waiting for next version to come out thank you..Version: 2.2.12

Great music production toolI love this pattern based music production tool. The sound packs available have excellent sound quality. It’s simple to use and can produce good quality music. However, the color theme for the interface and the interface itself are hard to read and way too clumsy on an iPhone. Fix that, I will give it a 6 stars :).Version: 2.2.9

Love This AppThis is a really good music creative app! With high quality sounds and a large variety of them! And a good range of in-app purchases I already have all the sound packs awaiting more, ASAP please! UVI Works well with others, I personally use it as a plug in within BM3 as well as Stand Alone. And Export the creation/production into a DAW such as Ableton Live 9 to arrange them further. This is a very good app with a intuitive workflow. Good for any genre of music. I am happy with this App was looking forward to a new sound pack for Christmas but nothing yet still waiting! A synth pack and EastCoast Urban pack would be nice! And more keep it going UVI muchLove 👊🏿✊🏿✌🏿.Version: 2.1.3

GreatReally useful for trying out ideas. Also makes a great sound module. The add on libraries are fantastic sound quality..Version: 2.0.5

Simply awesome!I am a studio owner who uses a lot a different software to record professionally. I also use a lot of UVI stuff. When I can’t get in the studio I normally take my little iPad or iPhone with me and I do a lot of creating using BeatHawk, once I get back to my recording studio it is at that time that I will bounce all of my tracks down to the DAW that I use. Trust me when I tell you there is no quality loss on those files when it comes to be mixed in my DAW! I think they should have named Beat hawk beat beast!!!😂😂😂❤️😎👍🏾👍🏾💯.Version: 2.2.9

A corker!!!!I have IMPC Pro but thought I'd give this a go. It wouldn't be right to draw too many direct comparisons between the apps, because each one has so much going for it. However, for ease of use and for sheer fun, BeatHawk has the edge. Within minutes I was putting a song together. Pre-packed sounds are very good, and there's a really good range of IAPs, some of which I've bought already - and I'm particularly happy that some of these extra purchases cater for more eclectic tastes. So, all in all, a very good purchase. I'm looking forward to many hours of music-making. Update: Having splurged on a midi keyboard during these dark pandemic days Beathawk has opened up even more new horizons for me! Of course you sacrifice some tweak-ability, but the harpsichord sounds in the Baroque IAP sound so much better than the preset on my Yamaha keyboard. I can’t wait to try out the B3 to see if it really sounds anything like a Hammond! Further update: the B3 is good but clearly the BeatHawk is not designed for tweaking the sounds very much. So you have some preset organ sounds and you can alter reverb, LFO etc but that’s about it. I purchased the Grand Piano and I’m afraid it doesn’t measure up to the Ivory A available on Korg Module. The tone is quite muddy and a bit of a disappointment. Still a 5-star app though..Version: 2.2.9

Superb app. Aging well.My favorite thing about this app is the abundance of sounds you can purchase. To be fair, they’re sometimes hit and miss (like samples of world instruments being too short, odd variations, or looping in weird spots). But in contrast to what is offered elsewhere, BeatHawk is a big winner. This is especially crucial when you consider that BeatHawk has a lot of power as an audio unit. It gives you several variations of options for controlling embedded instruments. It also has a number of loops, sliced or stretched. For what it currently offers, BeatHawk gets a 5, despite it still having a few shortcomings in my book. a. I would like to see a BeatHawk solo option where I can load one sampler as an au instead of the whole dang program. b. I would like to see a daytime mode. This thing is REALLY hard to use on a sunny day!! c. I’d like to see an MPE mode. Similar to the solo option. Considering that BeatHawk has 16 lads (channels) you can load different sounds into. You should also be given the option to quickly and easily load a sound into all 16 channels and use it as an MPE device (bonus if it can record it all simultaneously for patterns !) I have countless apps. For sounds like drums, world instruments and various other sounds, I have warmed up more and more towards BeatHawk as being a personal favorite..Version: 2.2.9

Great sounds, easy to useWorks perfectly on my iPhone 5s. I tend to export songs into GarageBand via IAA - click record and the track starts playing; loops perfectly - as I like working with audio tracks..Version: 2.1.5

Great app!Beathawk may just be the best kept secret in ios music production. I bought it about a year ago and it quickly became my go-to app for getting ideas down and...well, just pure fun. A good looking and intuitive interface combined with high quality samples gives you just about all the tools you need to quickly sketch out ideas, or record a few bars of a drum loop, pick an instrument and let inspiration do the rest. It comes with two pretty robust soundpacks, but you can't go wrong with the acoustic grand, electric piano, or mellotron, and I would also recommend the funk and disco packs if only for the acoustic drum loops. The organs and accordions are new, but based on the quality of their other instruments I'll be picking these up as well. Too many features to mention here, but the new update brings in a step sequencer... personally I prefer to play the parts instead of using a grid, but either way you can now adjust the velocity/modulation/pitch bend/etc. of individual recorded notes which adds a whole new level of control over the sound. Well worth the money imho. P.S. One other reviewer mentioned something about it not working on an ipad mini... I have only ever used it on an ipad mini (2, ios 10.1.1) and have never had a problem so....Version: 2.0.0

The Best Sample Studio on iOSWorks flawlessly with my MPD 26 controller. I’m so glad you made it available for iPhone a few years back. Sound quality and workflow are impeccable!.Version: 2.2.13

An Outstanding Instrument! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I have only for stars because I believe nothing in this world is truly perfect and we all can get better from time to time out doing ourselves by improving achieving what we never thought we could. That being said, I think this app is on of the best out there. The sound library’s are phenomenal with both richness and quality samples. Going through the sounds made me feel like a child at a candy shop. I’m so excited for all the amazing music I will be making using this instrument. I was glad that the interface is very simple and easy to learn and a master. Lastly, I’m so excited for all the future updates and a new instrument preset packs Beathawk will add to there already massive library. A musician/composer/writer/singer, can never have enough sounds and presets to utilize. Always remember that. You can never have enough sounds. 😉 Keep of the great work Beathawk team. I truly appreciate what you all do and all of your hard work. Thanks 🙏🏾.Version: 2.2.11

Very intuitive and produces great resultsSpent a very enjoyable first day exploring BeatHawk and found myself producing music very quickly. This app provides a wonderfully intuitive and fast workflow that is very quick to learn and takes full advantage of the touch screen environment. The handful of short introductory videos on the UVI website are all you need to get to grips with the app. It comes with a set of powerful and well categorised sounds and loops that simply work well together and stand up in the mix. Percussion loops can be automatically divided up for playing on the keyboard. Even melodic loops can be manipulated to some extent. As an experiment I tried reproducing the same short piece of music on Cubasis, Yamaha MMS (both of which I am very familiar with) and BeatHawk. I got the fastest and best sounding result using BeatHawk. I'm delighted to find that I can easily import my own sounds (as single note samples) and loops using the iTunes file manager. The app also provides a sampling facility. At the end of the day it is the fun in using it, the speed of production and the quality of the end result that earns this app five stars from me. Limitations that could be improved in a future version: there are delay and reverb effects but no modulation type effects. A third layer of selectable modulation effects would be useful. The two octave keyboard arrangement is limiting when trying to play a sequence of chords that extend beyond one octave. I have not found a way to categorise my own imported samples. In a full day of use I only had one crash when switching into song mode, otherwise faultless. Thank you UVI for such a powerful and enjoyable creative tool..Version: 1.0

Inspires!....and sounds great doing so.I next to never review things online but I had to for BeatHawk. I’m having so much creative fun with this app. The sound quality is so good. The export options and the fact you can use it as a sound module in say Cubasis is amazing. Very logically laid out, simple yet powerful and professional sounding..Version: 2.1.3

GreatI make beats out of random objects and the pitch and length changing functions and beat playing etc really helps.Version: 2.1.3

Blows Imaschine out of the waterThe best drum machine out there. Very underrated but extremely powerful. Msg to the developers Please keep the updates coming such as layering of samples and FX etc. There is now a lot of completion in this area so new features are necessary..Version: 1.1.3

Overall it’s an amazing appI love the heck out of this app but it would better if you all add more pad banks like an A B C D and also could you add a mixer with faders & pans. Also, accessing the instruments should be better as well as far as being able to play them with my midi keyboard as I demo through the instruments. Loading pads with drums the way you have it is great but as far as the instruments go, I’m not a fan of the loading instruments im same fashion as the pads for drums. If you all could add those features as updates, I know I wouldn’t use anything else. The sequencer is a killer and very easy to learn and it’s an absolute beast because I’m able to get ideas out very quick with beathawk !!! Overall, you guys did an amazing on with this app!.Version: 2.2.7

Very Good AppI like this app a lot, is fun to make beats.., but it got an issue, I bought some of the libraries, but unfortunately there is no way you can load the kits that comes with the library you buy, unless you load them to one pad only. When I go to the menu Load project/kit the libraries that I bought or the ones that come with the app are not shown there.., hopefully they fix this in an future update Or I don’t see my self spending more money on library for this app..!.Version: 2.2.11

5 Star app, it just needs a few final touches.Firstly, get this app. It is amazing and intuitive. Only 4 stars because there are just a few things missing, and I hope the developers see this. 1. Ability to change CC value of each pad. A lot of other apps have this, so I can work around it...but a lot of other apps have it, so I think you should too. 2. Multi out. If you could route each pad into a separate track, this app becomes essential for every iOS producer 3. Internal AU and IAA support for other apps...If I could assign Volt to a pad and throw Turnado on just that channel, this would be the best music app on the market.Version: 2.2.9

It's a breezeMust admit I not had any bugs/crashes it's got cool sounds for you to transform into your own style of music, like the others are saying it's good but could be even better... Let's hope so it my top app so far easy to use I had a song made in 15 mins while I was going through for the first time it's also good to look on YouTube to get the idea on the controls.. Worth every penny :).Version: 1.0.5

Solid Full Featured, Hard to BeatMIDI file export, sampling, and MIDI editing, off the top put this ahead of others. Solid, slick and fun. If you like GrooveRider, Electribe, and BeatMaker, this has a streamlined, easy to use package you will really like..Version: 2.2.6

WorkflowIts about workflow and great sound. Having a ton of features is useless if the interface stinks. Beathawk has a wonderful UI and finally has a spectacular step editor with all the depth needed plus much more. I don’t compare apps unless they do the same things. There are other excellent apps that do similar things, so it’s about how you like to work. Beathawk now has many features that makes it hard to decide whether to use it instead of some others. I see it clearly as a 5 star app because of the great design and what you can do with it. Its up to you to compare carefully. Watch tutorials and demos to see if it is your way of working. Beathawk is developed by a company that has a solid reputation. UVI makes Falcon, which is arguably one of the best music/sound making apps for desktop. They have some of the best software sound modules out there. Beathawk is a class act. Its NOT a first time music project by a beginner. It comes from deep expertise..Version: 2.2.6
