✓ A real challenge!Some of the reviews I've read are bemoaning the difficulty of the game. I disagree with this for one simple reason: games are not supposed to be easy. If you could smash your way through the 100 levels within a few days then what reason would you have left to play? The rules are in the same order each time you play from what I can tell so the more you play, the better you will get as you will gradually memorise the rules. The games only been out a few days, persevere with it and when you do smash all 100 levels on it you'll think YEAH I'M AWESOME!.Version: 1.0.1
✓ A New Way to PlayI love the premise of the game, and thank goodness, it executes it perfectly. It's a game that seems like you would only pick it up for a few minutes at a time, but you'll find yourself playing for much longer! The never-ending balance of memorization and fun really work. ✓ Missed the boatAm I the only one that thanks the developer missed the boat and the rules should all be cumulative, to be applied at the same time? example: touch all the ones on the right that are odd, and in ascending order? When that goal is finished move to the next level, even if the tiles aren't all tapped. ✓ A little gemI bought Rules! in August when it was featured as Editor's Choice, and have played it every day since. It is a wonderfully crafted little game with the Apple touch screen at the heart of the experience (I play on Apple Touch 5), absorbing gameplay, whimsical icons and little humourous anecdotes. The original 20 second timer mode is a challenge - every second really does count - but if you are willing to persevere you not only improve, but come to appreciate just how well thought out and brilliantly structured each group of 10x10 rounds really is, and how clever the combination of mathmatical, spatial awareness and memory sequence skills need to progress. The IOS 8 upgrade adds further polish and refinement to the original 20 second timed mode (now called Expert), and for players who are not up to the old school gaming challenge of the original adds beginner and untimed modes, which responds to some of the early customer reviews and will broaden the appeal of this wonderful little puzzle game. Personally, I will be trying to complete the game in Expert mode ... currently at Level 35 of 100..Version: 2.0

Deceptively simple, yet exceedingly challenging - you think it would be easy, keeping each rule in mind, but adding the element of the ticking clock ups the ante. Trying to remember the different rules moment to moment under the stress, combined with different pictures and numbers to keep in mind is brilliantly difficult. ✓ Fun and challenging but a bit FRUSTRATING!It's a fast paced game that gets you thinking and keeps you on your toes! 20 seconds never seems like enough time! It really is a "just one more go" type of game. One big downside for me though is that once you lose you go all the way back to level 1, even if you get to the next set of 10 rules, so to get to level 100 it seems that you'd have to do it in one go! Maybe I just haven't got far enough yet, or I'm just not that good (!), but that seems a bit harsh. I'd like to be able to do or practice later sets of 10 levels as they're a challenge on their own!.Version: 1.0.1
✓ Great game.I actually really enjoy this game. It starts pretty simple at first but then you are given tasks upon tasks that really keep you sharp. This almost feels like one of those memory improvement games but in the best way possible. ✓ Absolutely ecstatic.A glorious puzzle game that anyone can play. No special reasoning skills required: Rules! is about colors, images and numerical reasoning as simple as "tap the odd numbers." The game plays out in sets of ten rounds. In the first, you tap the numbered tiles (with animals, monsters and objects on them, the same each round--you'll develop a relationship with the unicorn tens, the phone nines, the mustache 8s and the 7 foxes) in descending order. In round two, you tap the green tiles first--then you follow rule 1. But it doesn't remind you what rule one is. In round 3, odds must go, then rule two and rule one must be followed. You'll find yourself chanting "whales, animals, nines, the remaining odds, greens, descending." I've played a lot of iOS games, but none have even approached Rules!..Version: 3.0.1

Is all of this plus a game that is truly unique to modern portable platforms. The creators have been very creative in their rule construction and i have found the game extremely addictive. But if you like challenging your memory and logic skills, it can become very addictive. ;) I started a cheat sheet of the rules to help me keep track, but last run I got up to 49 while barely looking at the sheet. Very impressive for a 1.0 too - no issues and it's very responsive. Use both fingers and tap as quick as you can! After several goes I finally can get past level 11 and the first 10 rules seem really easy to remember. This game is about being quick, storing a sequence of rules in your head to apply to the grid on the screen, things like tap all the 9s, or all the whales. As you progress you can build up, or lose, time for the next level. Think "Dumb Ways To Die" without the annoying song, but with the added component of working on your short term working memory for the rules. It's been great to play. I'm up to level 18!! ✓ New favorite gameThis game is great. It's a major reward every time you clear a new set of 10 levels. For me it's easier to play on iPad. One of the reasons is because that version has a "shake" button. Having to shake the device slows things down a bit on level 20 and upward.
