Never side with sellerMy family and I had a Covid-19 related family emergency which caused us to shut down our shop. We refunded all of customers and offered a coupon for some money off their next purchase, for the inconvenience. This woman cursed, threatened to continue harassing us until our shop has been shut down and lied and said we were to blame for the outcome of her party, which she clearly states took over a year to plan. I find it hard to believe 1 item ruined her entire event. More so, when we contacted Etsy with proof of all of this, they said she’s entitled to her opinion and they only told her to stop contacting us. She continues to harass us and leave reviews, which in turn tarnishes our image we work so hard to keep clean. I’ve contacted Etsy on this matter several times, with no solution to this issue. I think it’s unfair because Etsy really does put food on our table but we keep having to deal with this woman who’s sole purpose is to make sure no one purchases from us. At what point does this escalate and truly stop. We make money for Etsy, only for them not to have our back when we very clearly need them..Version: 3.53

Will not use againI was recommended to use Etsy early 2020 when making my resin items that I could sell and keep my family afloat during the pandemic. Not only do my items keep getting shut down when nothing is going against their guidelines, but they’re taken down every time I get a sale. Starting out I saw 100s of other shops with similar items I have and words against their policy but theirs won’t get taken down. New sellers and small shops are being taken down and banned for doing things that aren’t against their policy while big companies are thriving. I’m a teenager trying to make a living, and with every order I get, it seems I keep getting pushed down and potentially banned. Another note, Etsy will not let me get my money from my account despite letting me get my deposits from older orders. If you even want to talk with customer support, they will not call back and won’t take calls if you can even find their number. (which is no where on their Etsy sell app).Version: 3.53

WORST COSTUMER SERVICEIf I would give this app no stars, BELIEVE ME, I would. Not even a WEEK into having my shop open, I get locked out of my account. I go to see what is the problem and it shows that I was suspended. I called Etsy support and not even the lady on the phone knew why I was suspended. I later got an email saying that I was HIGH RISK and they were “unable to respond to any further outreach about your account”. In this email they did not state WHY I was suspended which is what made me even more furious. On top of that they demanded me to not ask any questions. How am I supposed to not ask any questions if I don’t even know why I’m suspended and they don’t tell me why either? Their tonality in the email was so rude even if they fixed I would not want to work with them again. If they responded to me in a kinder way, I would consider opening my shop back up. All I’m selling are wire wrapped rings and they treat me like I’m some kinda of criminal? This is disgusting and absolutely UNFAIR. This is the LAST TIME I will be buying or selling on Etsy..Version: 3.53

App is ok but...I don’t have many issues with this app but I noticed the shipping labels are very vague to update. It didn’t allow me to change flat shipping price to calculated and the shipping label I saved from the computer Etsy website is not showing up on this app. Idk if it is a glitch. It worked fine before but the shipping labels stopped showing up recently. I tried re-downloading. It didn’t work. Also I don’t really like the stats section anymore. I wish it would give me where the total views were coming from instead of the visits. I don’t really care where the double visits from the same people are coming from. I feel like the total views and their location are more important than visits. It only shows the location of the visits which is only the people who came multiple times. This also makes it confusing because what if it’s only one person visiting the whole time? I’m exaggerating a bit but it’s a little confusing in that sense. App Update March 27, 2019This update has changed my listing photos. Some preview photos have been cropped and cut off some of the picture - but revert to fine when you open them. Other listings have all 10 photos cropped. Some listings have BOTH - some pics changed and some not. It’s not even a uniform change!!! WTH?.Version: 3.12

APP IS FINE BUT BEING A NEW SELLER OR SMALLER SELLER IS NOT GOOD.I can operate the app perfectly fine and it has never given me an actual issue yet. For the people who’s accounts locked and whatnot I suggest not using different devices such as laptop to cellphone to ipad whatever you signed up on continue on that device only. I know you should not have to do that but I finally learned after several limitations or random suspentions on different services that when you use a device that you didnt register with the A.I. Locks your account it may not happen right away but after multiple switches back and forth from laptop to phone it will flag and freeze your account. Now back to etsy I can tell for small businesses it works great but for new unestablished sellers new to the app It doesnt work well at all I have made alot of listings and shared every one of them with 4 to 5 other apps and its popular items and I barley get any traffic and no messages at all basically nothing at all if your an individual seller its tough to get started and maybe it just isn’t good for individual sellers at all..Version: 3.53

Etsy Doesn’t Care About It’s SellersI was a seller on Etsy from October 2020 to April 2021. I was nearly at 1000 sales when suddenly Etsy suspended my shop saying that my handmade items were not handmade, and only sent me automatic responses to all of my messages. I started Etsy because I couldn’t work anymore since I’m high risk to COVID, and Etsy really just discarded me like I was nothing. Now it’s June and I’m not going to be able to have anywhere to live when my lease is up in July. My items were in fact handmade, not trademarked, not copyrighted, and not commercially sold. It really hurts that a platform that claims to be all about inclusivity, individuality, respect, and integrity isn’t all that it was advertised. When your shop shuts down and you email them you will be met with a automatic response. When you message them about that you will then be met with another automated response. After the second one you’ll be met with a person that tells you to send them information about your shop, and after you send that you’ll be met with another automatic response instead of them reviewing and acknowledging anything that you’re saying. If you don’t believe this warning, that’s fine. But when it happens to you just like it happened to me and thousands of others... you’ll be just as frustrated..Version: 3.53

App is limitedThe Etsy Seller app is great for if you plan on viewing your orders and stats. Or if you need to do small edits to your titles, tags, and description. If you want to actually use the features found on the website, your best bet is it access your shop through Safari or a computer. This app has potential, but it lacks many features needed to use it effectively. A couple of things that drive me crazy- You cannot Print your orders in the normal format. Instead, it is enlarged and prints like a webpage would. Second, you cannot view order details on the order page. You have to click each one individually until you find the one you need. Those are only the tiny details that are flawed. The biggest issues- you cannot print shipping labels from the app. The marketing options are limited, as well as the settings. For most settings, it will tell you to get on a computer. You also cannot unselect an attribute or recipient once it is selected. You can only change it to a new option. I keep the app simply for viewing basic information on new orders and to update tags..Version: 3.21

Stats!!I love it a part from the listing/visit stats!! Check the visits from 30 days 18 check the visits from 7 days 10 from yesterday 91 it doesn't make sense, they are confusing and pointless the graphs are not needed, seeing where the visits Come from like social media and how many you're getting is great but I'm not interested in the graphs the old way was much better and simple adding where they're coming from is good. And there's no flow to selecting anything, it's all over the place simplify it!! adding all those mixed up options and graphs might make it look good but doesn't make it easy for sellers 🙄.Version: 2.70

Frustrating app, prefer using the mobile browserI’ve been putting up with this app for two years and no improvements. Most of the things wrong with it are small annoyances though so I’ve never been irritated enough to write a review, HOWEVER. Just this morning it asked me for feedback. I chose “not great” and it asked me to elaborate, but there was no way to submit the feedback!! I figured I might as well air my grievances here. 1. You cannot scroll far back into message history, which is unhelpful if you take commissions and occasionally receive many messages about one job 2. Messages refresh every time a message is received, you minimise the app, or you switch to another window to check something. 3. The in app listing set up is clunky and occasionally doesn’t like attaching images to specific options 4. It doesn’t like sending dispatch confirmations without throwing an error saying something has gone wrong (though in reality it is all fine).Version: 3.53

My orders disappearedI updated the app & my order history are gone. Not only that, my new orders are gone now. It still showing I have open orders but it’s empty when I clicked into it. Please have it fixed..Version: 3.13

Needs to be better.The app is pretty good for making listings on the go. However there is one massive, very annoying oversight with this app. When creating a listing, there is no automatic draft save, like in Outlook or eBay. Or a pop up to give you the option to leave the “create listing” page or save a draft. So, if you accidentally swipe down on your device screen while creating a listing, you lose all the work you done. No automatic draft, all your work is gone. You need to start from the beginning and re-upload and re-edit your photos, recreate your description, re-type every tag and every material used….you get the picture. It happened too many times so I deleted the app out of frustration. Etsy should fix this. EBay automatically saves drafts, why doesn’t Etsy?.Version: 4.2.2

Support is a disgrace the worst customer service everEtsy is a great place to sell until things go wrong. Support is atrocious it is next to nothing . My account got hacked in August and it’s now October, my shop was a mess and although I managed to get it back I was still getting emails from Etsy to keep changing my password, now I’m completely locked out I can’t get any help, funds are being held and I’m losing business . Most of the replies you get are bots not humans, they switch off chat and they do not support the sellers, without us Etsy where does your business stand as you aren’t the ones doing all of the hard work ?! You take our fees in a flash but you do not support your sellers in the same speed. Security and customer service is a must and you are the worst and I do not recommend anyone anymore ..Version: 3.53

Problems logging inEvery time I go to log in, I am forced to reset my password. Every. Single. Time. I haven’t even posted products yet because of this glitch. Etsy also doesn’t seem to have an easily accessible contact for these issues. It took me longer than it should have to find help and even then, it was all about prompts and avoiding having to design a system for business owners to contact a real person for support. This is very poor business practice and you are going to start losing business. Then, I get on here to leave a review and read through all the problems similar to mine and more, that others are having with this app and it makes me very uneasy and worried about working with Etsy. You have a lot of problems to solve, here. Needs To Move Ahead, Not Go BackwardWe use the listing of products in the App all the time for editing and maintenance. Now, the app will not accept a check in the box for any different sort. More/Listings/Filter and the check box for filter does not work. Don’t add any new features if you affect the older features that everyone uses. Please fix. As a software developer for 50+ years, Etsy Shop Owners who depend on being able to use the functionality of the Etsy App to manage their shop would do much better deleting this App. Constant checking and evaluating their newest releases should be their utmost priority and not a priority of releasing an update every 2 weeks. There is a difference of not having software features versus having software features that don’t perform correctly. I would suggest taking a look of what doesn’t work versus what new features should be added. Without a strong foundation, the software collapses, no matter how many great features are added later. 1 Star is too much..Version: 4.2

App not user friendlyThis is one of the only app reviews I’ve ever written because this app is not good when trying to list items. First off the app forces you to go through the settings to add shipping information after you’ve completed all the steps to list an item then when forcing you to go back to setting to add some shipping details it doesn’t leave you back where you left off and instead makes you completely restart tags, description, title, everything. Not to mention if you’re in this process and at any point happen to swipe to the left it takes you back to your other listing and deleting all progress you’ve made on whatever listing you are currently trying to do. Completely unnecessary hoops and eBay makes it so easy it makes me hate listing on this app. On the computer maybe 100 times better but this app is not great /:.Version: 3.53

Ok BUTWorks fine except for a few things- one, it is far too difficult to make a new listing, it’s not very intuitive. The WORST thing though, is the way it doesn’t save what you’re working on if you have to leave the screen (perhaps to check a detail you need to respond to when you’re replying to a message) or accidentally touch the background screen while you’re working on a listing. Everything you’ve done just DISAPPEARS and you have to start again from a blank slate. Photos gone, description, tags, everything. It’s RIDICULOUS. Ain’t nobody got time for that!.Version: 3.51

ScamI am a Etsy seller started late 2020 I understand the fees and I don’t have anything against that however I sold a $80 item and lost $20 on shipping no big deal later I found out Etsy gave the buyer a full refund for no reason when I tried to turn the package back to me so I didn’t loose so much i was told the item was already delivered. Etsy hasn’t been responding to my emails for a few months I do not recommend using this selling platform I’m about to move to my own website.Version: 3.53

Etsy doesn’t care about its SellersI had over 2,500 in sales.. almost close to 3,000 when they decided to shut me down due to one dispute that a buyer escalated and without any warning they shut down my store. Their customer service are literally robots and you cannot get through to an actual person regarding any of the matters that other sellers have. Their response rate.. 2-3 days. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO TAKE THAT LONG TO REACH THEM?? If I am able to respond within 1 day to my buyers then I’m not sure why they’re not able to respond within the same time frame since they are such a big corporation that apparently hires thousands of employees. I don’t believe they care about their sellers and that is why so many has moved to Shopify. Expect to pay almost close to $300 for every $1000 you make. In my opinion, not worth the headache. You don’t want to stay with Etsy for too long. My tip, once you start out on etsy you should look into avenues on marketing yourself AWAY from etsy..Version: 3.53

Go back to the old payment system!I Used to love selling on Etsy, I opened my shop a little over a year ago and while i don’t get a lot of orders I feel like my shop is successful, I get great reviews and haven’t gotten anything other then five stars. But then they changed how payments work just before Christmas. pay off the fees once a month and buy postage out of pocket which wasn’t a big deal, I would pay under $4 in fees a month and $2.75 for postage. I preferred it that was so I could get my entire payment from my very inexpensive product. The new system withholds the money from my orders and then subtracts the fees and postage from that money until I can get it into my bank account (it will only deposit money on business days). I tried to see if i could pay for postage at the time of purchase like i used to, but they have no option for that anymore, instead the fees sit in your payment waiting to either be paid off at the end of the month or for you to get another order so it can take a large amount of that money. I’m not making any money off of my product because they keep subtracting the fees from the purchase. I have a four dollar fee sitting in the payment that I can’t pay until the end of the month. I love being an Etsy seller but unless they go back to the old method or give us the option to pay for postage and fees before the billing cycle ends then I’ll have to close down my shop..Version: 3.10

Great, but please change the draft pageMy only issue with the app at the moment is that the draft page for an item can be “closed” by swiping downwards - and it doesn’t save any changes. No matter how hard I try, I keep accidentally swiping down and having to completely restart listings. No other platforms’ apps that I use — eBay, Depop, Facebook — design the drafts page with this sort of flimsiness. I like being able to create listings from my phone and would prefer not to use my laptop. Seems like this should be an easy fix for a dumb issue. 👍 Also, please optimize UX on the draft’s “add tags” page by keeping the keyboard up, rather than closing it, after each tag is added. Otherwise I have to tap back again on the keyboard 13 times for each listing, which is functionally counterintuitive to the page’s entire point of adding multiple tags 😐.Version: 3.53

So slow it’s uselessWhen this app first came out a few years ago I was very excited and happy about it and very satisfied with how it worked. But it has become so incredibly slow. I have tried to use it for in person sales lately and without WiFi (which is often not available at many in-person markets, it’s so slow that it’s useless. I could do a single sale from my listings. I had to do everything as a quick sale, so now all of my inventory is off because I had to sell quick sale blank items instead of selling from listings. Now I have to go through everything and update all my quantities, and worse, I have to deactivate items that should actually be sold out. I can’t manually change the status which makes keeping on top of my inventory very difficult. If it doesn’t get fixed I will go back to processing payments through Square. I could access everything else without WiFi but Sell on Etsy couldn’t manage a basic search or sort. Seriously disappointed..Version: 2.75

Extremely frustratingThe app has no auto save features and exits out of the listing too easily, erasing all progress made on creating a listing. I’ve had to rewrite everything three times now and have to do it again. First time deleted because I swiped from too far up on my screen, and it exited out of my listing, deleting it, second time was I went to go add a photo, and it closed, third time was I had to go into settings to give the app photo permissions because even though I gave it all photo access it wasn’t registering and when I went back the listing and my progress were gone again. Another thing frustrated with Etsy overall is it includes you checking in on your listing as a view, which makes it difficult to figure out how much traffic your ~actually~ getting. It’s also confusing to me why Etsy needs two separate apps to shop and sell when other websites/apps can easily combine the two..Version: 3.53

Not goodThis app is not good at all. Its so buggy. If i try change anything about my shop’s appearance i get a pop up page that tells me to download the app or do it on the desktop. I am on the app. So i try it on the mobile site. Same things happens. Stop forcing people to download this app when it doesn't work. The only thing this app is good for is messaging customers back. If i wanna use the mobile site or desktop site i should be able to without being forced to go onto an app that doesn't work or use a desktop site when i might not have access at that moment or at all for that matter! The fact i cannot just close his stupid pop up message about switching to your app is an actual joke. Fix this please and i hate this app so much..Version: 4.2.2

Etsy SupportThe etsy app overall is decent. It is user friendly but has significant issues with sign ins and partially added features. The issues that I have had are with etsy support. After about 2000 hours spent working on up keeping an etsy shop, hundreds of sales, no unhappy customers, and no cases against my shop I was suspended and banned from etsy with no warnings. I was banned because they found a connection from my account to another account that I have had ZERO involvement with. When I noticed that my account was suspended I immediately reached out to etsy regarding the issue, and assumed that it was just a small issue that I could work with them on to fix. In response, Etsy support let me know that they are very careful with making decisions, and that there wasn’t anything that I could do about it. Additionally, I was told that any etsy accounts that I attempt to create in the future will be immediately closed without warning. Finally, Etsy support said that if I am to reach out to them again regarding the issue that they will be unable to respond. (That they will ignore me). This leaves me heavily dissatisfied with Etsy Support and Many Parts of Etsy’s systems. I have never in my life left a negative review on any service or product, however, I feel strongly that these actions deserve at the least a negative review..Version: 3.53

Slow with annoying glitches and changesI used to love using the app, but recent changes are annoying and time consuming. First of all, the app runs SO slow. When I enter my shop and try to search for listings, it takes 20+ seconds for my listings to load, another 20+ seconds for my keyboard to even show up, then another 20+ seconds for the search to occur. Ridiculous. Secondly, words get broken up within a conversation when it is sent. It will be typed perfectly prior to sending, but once it is sent to the customer, it chops up the words incorrectly and creates spaces where there shouldn’t be. Not only does it make it hard to read, it also looks unprofessional on my part. The other update that is very annoying is that when a customer contacts me with a link to a particular listing to ask a question about it, it used to open that listing within the app so that I could see which one the customer was referring to. With the latest update, it opens the listing in a web browser instead, which meansq I then have to sign into Etsy on the web. An unnecessary step that wastes my time. Lastly, other changes within Etsy have SIGNIFICANTLY decreased my total views of my items and therefore sales....by 59 PERCENT!!! What an absurd drop in views & sales in my shop. After 4.5 very successful years of selling on Etsy, I’m seriously considering changing selling platforms. Pretty unhappy with the current app..Version: 2.80

Do not Buy or Sell on EtsyI was a constant buyer on Etsy prior to my experience. I always urged people to buy from local shops on Etsy. However, over a week ago, I decided to open my own shop on Etsy Sell. After a week of using it, 8 listings, 3 sales, and 5-star reviews, my account was described with no warning or reasoning. I contacted Etsy Support twice. They said “ After reviewing your Etsy account, I can see that you have been REFUSED SERVICE. We would appreciate your cooperation with ceasing all contact with Etsy as it has been determined that our business relationship has ended. For that reason, we’ll need to end this chat.” Etsy support then hung up on me. I will never use etsy again and will HIGHLY DISCOURAGE anyone to ever buy from them again. This company IS A SCAM AND DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR INFORMATION. After this, I have now had charged to my bank account by Etsy. Even though, I paid for all of my fees and owe them nothing. If anything, they owe me a refund for the listings I paid for that were then deactivated..Version: 3.53

PLEASEEE READ THIS!!!PLEASE ADD THESE FEATURES TO THIS APP! •Option to NOT add tracking number when sending shipping notifications even if it's over 10 dollars. It will not send because it keeps asking for a tracking number.) (Sometimes orders sent out are sent in 1 oz or 3 oz envelopes that would cost the customer more money to send with tracked shipping!) •Variation Profiles! I HATE having to keep adding my 30+ vinyl options on my listings over and over again! Can we please create a profile just like your shipping profiles that saves our variations list so we don't have to keep adding them every single listing. Sometimes we sell the same thing with the same variations just in different designs. •ability to add video from our phones and tablets. I want to add more videos to listings but I don't use my laptop much. I always use this app. Please make it happen. It's annoying having to keep whipping out the laptop. •When making a listing from my iPad, I accidentally touch outside of the listing square where I fill out the information and cancels and makes me start ALL OVER AGAIN! It's annoying having to re-type everything we just did! Please add a feature that auto saves your info or at least a "are you sure you want to cancel option?" Instead of just closing it all together. Good but could be even betterI have found the Etsy app a really good way to get my pieces seen around the world. However it is getting harder for artist, like me, to get seen on Etsy. So many pieces are NOT being handmade. Lots of Etsy shops are selling things they bought from places like AliExpress. That is really disheartening for ppl that make their pieces. Good not great.I opened my shop about 4 weeks ago, and really getting the hand of using it and adding more listings. Some frustrating things. I made 20 sales and now Etsy are holding my money for 45 days in a reserve. How are you meant to pay for supplies, fees and postage when your money is held. Really disappointing and has kind of made me feel unmotivated not having my money. Saying if I track an item I can have the money really is unrealistic when most items I offer free delivery as a way of attracting customers, as Etsy advises. Do they want us to offer free delivery and then also pay for expensive delivery??? !! The app is great for adding items… until you accidentally swipe down and the whole thing is gone. This has happened at least 5 times now and it’s soooooo frustrating. Why isn’t there something that pops up saying - are you sure you want to cancel this listing? Easy to use most of the timeI’ve been selling on Etsy for a while and like to use the app to add new listings and share them on social media. Overall it’s been easy to use. But recently I’ve been unable to share anything from the app. When I hit share I get a blank page. It’s frustrating because that’s how I promote my store which in turn brings sales, since this has been an issue my sales have decreased. Any help would be appreciated. I am using an iPhone. I continue to have the same issue about 95% of the time. When it occasionally seems like it will work, it completely freezes. I received an email from Etsy support in response to this review. However when I respond with the requested screen shots, i get a this is not a valid email message. I’m seriously considering leaving Etsy. These glitches are affecting my income. Updated to add that I’m still having the same issue more than a year later. Can’t share any of my listings using the app. It’s very disappointing as i use my phone for everything and the app is supposed to be made specifically for that..Version: 3.53

Terrible app!You would think that with the money they take from us sellers -and it’s a lot, I pay almost 30% of my sales in fees - they would pay some professionals to make a better app. I just noticed this week that some of the ‘older’ listings, the listings that haven’t been searched or looked at by the customers in the last week don’t even appear in the app anymore, although they’re active and I pay fees to keep them active… I have over 2500 listings and about 20% of these listings which are active, don’t show up in the active listings when I do a search for the in the store, it’s like they don’t exist.… which is strange since I’m paying listing fees for these. Also, good luck responding to a conversation on this app, if your being messaged by another customer at the same time your typing your answer to a question from a customer, the app just updates to post the question from that customer and erases everything you’re typing in the meantime so you have to start again ….Version: 4.2

Useless For Listing ItemsA seller app should have streamlined listing capability. It should make it hard to screw up listing features. It should not make listing items more aggravating, hair-pulling and overall frustrating because the listing you spent valuable time on vanishes if you accidentally swipe up or down. However, if you love to rage quit, then this is the app for you! In total, so far I have lost 100’s of listings I was working on due to that poorly vetted crank of a concept. Why would anyone want to swipe away listings they are working on as a feature??! What genius thought that up? Little too much time on tinder, there, big chungus. And don’t even get me started on how wonky adding photos into listings is. You can only add all photos needed once, meaning add as many photos as you plan to use in one shot or forever keep your silence. Otherwise, for every new listing you create, you have to close then restart the app just to add more photos. Divorce is easier to navigate then this sorry excuse for a seller centric app. The chat feature reloads every time you get a new message so if you are attempting to hold a conversation, type fast or, just like the listing feature, everything you were working on vanishes. Payment ReservesI absolutely love selling on Etsy and making my products, but payment reserves are going to put me out of business! Payment reserves are ruining my business by holding money for too long! The money is supposed to help support me in my sells and buy the supplies as I make custom items, but since supplies can be up to 1000 dollars and some, they are held in payment reserves! People who want their item in a specific amount of time are going to be upset when they get such item late! I cannot deal with this! Never got paidThe app is good and easy to use, but I had a problem with my first order (and only order). I do digital drawings so I send them a file of the art when it’s complete. I got commissioned, supposedly got paid, finished the drawing and sent it off. It was only then I realised Etsy had cancelled the payment because of security reasons potentially. I contacted Etsy and they just asked me to contact the buyer, but of course they never got back to me; why would you want to pay when you managed to get free art 🙄 Etsy were helpful but that didn’t change the fact that nothing was done about it, they basically stole my art and got away with it..Version: 4.2.2

Aggravating glitch since last update!This app has definitely improved since first being released. I use it mostly for replying to convos because I find it difficult to setup listings from my phone. Since the last update, there is a glitch that is taking the remaining letters of the last word typed, and putting just those letters onto the next line down, rather than moving the entire word down onto the next line when it’s too long to fit on the line above. (This is an example of what I am talking ab out happening. Do you see how difficult an d incredibly annoying it is when you’re tryi ng to read the text? Apps are supposed to be convenient!Am I the only person who despises this app? It’s honestly so bad that I hate the thoughts of listing something. First of all, (with the iPhone X at least) it can be ridiculously easy to just swipe off of a listing that you’re working on. So, basically, after spending what feels like forever jumping through the hoops to create one — titles, pics, description, variations, etc. — it’s gone. Just gone, after all that time and effort. Why can’t there be a “Are you sure you want to leave this listing?” or “Would you like to save this listing as a draft?” or some other option that MAKES SENSE. Instead, there’s nothing. You accidentally slide your finger too far across your screen, then you just have to start over. WHICH takes a lot of time and work considering (my next point) that there isn’t an option to save variations to use on future listings. PLEASE consider those of us who do custom clothing. Gildan, Comfort Colors, etc. have A LOT of color options to choose from. I WANT to give my customers options, but I don’t feel like it when I have to manually type in 30+ colors every time I post a different design. It’s 2020. Etsy has been a thing for years now. Too complicatedAfter downloading the app and registering I was unable to sign in a second time. I was then directed to a website to register again and start listing items. I then tried to open the app and said I needed to register online and directed me to the same website once again that I had already registered with. After about an hour - I finally got to enter my bank details - then asked me to confirm my name and date of birth again. It basically told me my name was not my name and said I had to upload ID. I do not drive and I do not have a passport as I don’t travel abroad. The app still doesn't sign me in. So it’s been deleted. I shall find a new selling app which is easier to set up. Ok, but things need fixingIt’s great that I can run my shop on mobile but there are several issues I keep facing. The main one being that you cannot preview my listings as a customer, the button is there but the app crashes every time. Foreign categories and forced salesI’ve been selling jewelry on here for 13 years and know the listing process damned well. Suddenly I’m being given foreign language listing options with no way to change them. All I want to do is list a few handcrafted beaded dangle earrings and I have no option to do this. I hit drop or dangle and get terminology for Indian jewelry that doesn’t apply to me and no way to correct it. I am also done with being forced to run a sale at a high percentage point in order to “participate” in the holiday sales. You already take WAY too much in fees I can’t afford to run. 20% off sale on top of it! It’s not fair how you treat us. All started with the forced free shipping which I’ve since had to end because again, I can’t afford it! As others have said, it takes nothing to lose a listing while typing. It takes me a good hour to do one since they keep getting wiped out. I even copied the listing just in case it happened and there is no option now to paste it in line there used to be! Needs improvements!I use this app on a daily basis to run my business. There are many issues though. First, it’s very slow. It can take up to a minute to load a listing. Second, some of the features just don’t work! For example, if I want to link photos to my listing through the app it does nothing..... I have to go to the website to do this. Also I have a suggested “attribute “ on my dashboard for a listing that no longer exists! And I can’t for the life of me get it to go away! Third, some days I can even upload photos. I like to use the app to load photos because it’s more convenient.... but it would be nice to have the app do the same tasks as the site. The app developers definitely need to update the app and work out these issues. Since Etsy has decided to add additional fees on to shipping, listings, and selling, they should be able to fix the issues in the app to support us as sellers!.Version: 3.31

Infuriating listing creation mechanics on iOSOk, I know Etsy is overall a pretty good place to sell, but this one issue is absolutely infuriating. If you’re creating a listing and you swipe in the wrong direction, you completely close out of it and lose ALL OF YOUR PROGRESS. no draft, no confirmation, even if you just scroll a little bit too far trying to get to a different portion of the page. And you can’t save drafts until you have all the appropriate things filled out, so there’s no way to even save as you go to ensure that you don’t accidentally do this. Furthermore, when trying to edit variations that already exist, the app freezes. Every time, without fail. And if you’re trying to redo the photos for a listing and relink them to variations, you have to save the listing before they will show up to be able to be linked - but you can’t save the listing if the old photo that was linked to the variation has been deleted..Version: 3.53

Gets harder and harderI have been selling on Etsy since 2016. Though I have enjoyed the financial independence that the app has brought me, the corporate office at Etsy keeps making it harder and harder to make money every year. They just raised the transaction fees from 5% to 6.5%. They charge a substantial amount more than that when someone purchases something after clicking on one of their outside ads. They have just made it mandatory to provide tracking info to customers, so now you have to charge a minimum of $7-9 shipping for every sale to get the tracking number, even if you’re mailing an envelope that could be sent with the cheaper shipping. Etsy sellers do all of the creative work while the company itself keeps expanding and expanding financially, such that for the first time since 2016 I’m actually losing money selling on their platform. I’m grateful for the opportunity their site has provided me but disappointed that they continue to make it harder to turn a profit..Version: 3.53

Unsatisfied sellerEtsy suspended my account without notifying me with a valid reason. When I attempted to contact them via email, I was told to wait 24 hours for a response… that was three weeks ago. Etsy does not reply to seller complaints. They also removed the option to call them and get direct help from a human. Now I have money sitting in a suspended Etsy account that I cannot withdraw and no one reaching back out to me to solve the issue. Very dissatisfied with Etsy’s lack of consideration for its selllers. One would assume that with the amount of fees they charge you for doing anything on here, they would have enough funds for a live chat. **UPDATE** After my issue with a suspended account was resolved (…a month later) I now have a NEW issue with etsy. Funds for two of my orders have disappeared from my reserve account AND never showed up in my bank account. When I tried to reach out to Etsy, they sent me an automated pre typed message and told me if I had further issues, to reply to their email. So that’s what I did. So Dissapointed!I’m currently unable to change my prices! It’s a huge issue because I’m losing all my profits unless I shut down my store! The customer service chat support reads off a script and types the same message over and over. I was flung around to six different people who just used the same lines repeatedly! The problem is still not solved! Honestly the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! What am I supposed to do now? I’ve tried changing my shipping profiles, clearing my cache, logging off and on, changing the prices individually and through bulk pricing, republishing listings, changing the currency, etc. Nothing is working! Far from perfect but still your best optionThe app is fully functional and does everything you expect it to do. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for Etsy search algorithms. My sales have plummeted to near nothing since they re-jigged their algorithms a few months ago. Imagine searching for the exact name of your product and finding about 50 unrelated products before your own (I was searching in incognito mode to make sure cookies wasn’t affecting it). There is also an appalling amount of wholesale sellers trying to pass off their products as hand-made and most are getting away with it. I’ve seen slate placemats from wilkos being resold at 5 times the price. Other sellers are also prone to copying your work. Otherwise Etsy does what it says on the tin. Poor seller support, false copyright claimsI have been selling on Etsy or 3 years and have relied on the platform as a main source of income for my small business. I have had Etsy refuse to give me my income for months, put me on “final warning” and remove my listings due to false copyright violations. This would be easier to deal with if Etsy would allow me to appeal these copyright violations to a human who would see the claims are false. Instead when I have tried to appeal Etsy has threatened to have my shop closed down permanently ! I am very disappointed in the platforms attention to the welfare of their users. This is a joke. DO NOT GET!I decided to get Etsy after it being recommended to me by a friend. At first the app seemed ok, it said there are 7 stages to the selling process like most apps, right? Well, most apps do not ask for such personal information, such as bank details and extreme over the top levels of ID and personal information you wouldn’t even share with most people in real life. So why does Etsy need this? Once this information is in the system it can go anywhere and the security of this app is awful. You are left in a position you could quite easily be hacked, leading to all your personal information being lost and resulting in devastating consequences. I must say that this is highly unprofessional of Etsy, they do not need such extreme levels of PERSONAL information, and how do I know this? Well I can tell you that any, literally any other website you try to sell things on will not ask for this. So if you don’t want to get hacked, don’t get this app, sell on Ebay or vinted or just something that won’t leave you in a dangerous position. This is highly disappointing and not to mention unsafe for all of etsys users. Deletes listings way too easily while working on themThis review is only for the app - not for Etsy in general. This app is horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE for creating listings. The one good thing is that it’s easy to get pictures uploaded. The massive downside is when you have spent an hour or more on one listing, entering all the details for every variation, entered all the tags, etc. and with one swipe it all deletes. PLEASE add an auto save feature. I create listings for custom designs and need to type out details on the customization process and care instructions. I was trying to scroll back to the top of the item description to review and pulled my screen down halfway more than I should and now all of my work is deleted. This happens so much that I now I write out my descriptions in the notes app so I can copy/paste. But even with that it’s still a huge waste of time to re-enter all of the details that go into each listing. Either add auto save to listings or change the way you exit a listing when it’s incomplete. Looking at the other reviews I can see this has happened to other people as well..Version: 3.53

Will shut down accounts without notice!I’ve been a seller and customer on etsy for a few months. Everything was great up until I hit 60 sales this past month. I had to re-submit my ID for verification purposes as protocol calls for when shops hit a certain number of sales. I sent in my ID and immediately got an email saying my account was suspended which means no one can buy anything and today I found out that people can’t even view my shop to tell me what earrings they want to purchase through venmo, paypal, etc. It has been a week of hearing nothing back after talking to 3 representatives in a chat room and them telling me someone will email “shortly”. I submitted a complain to the BBB because I read up on how this has happened to thousands of other shops without notice for absolutely no reason. I have never had an issue before and only get 5 stars so I’m not sure. It would be different if a representative would have reached out and let me know of the issue but of course they make it hard to get in contact with someone. Rip offThey take the majority of your money, it cost more to make the product than the money you make here to be honest. Only optimized for landscape users??????The app overall is okay, but there are definite bugs. Most notably, whenever images are sent via the chat function, you generally have to open them with the iPad in landscape mode otherwise it simply just won't work. The sides will be cut off, you can’t swipe, and there’s no way to open anything unless you rotate your screen. This is incredibly frustrating as I don’t generally use my iPad in horizontal mode, and prefer vertical. Deactivated Items seem TargetedI’ve been selling Keychains that are from molds that were advertised as for protection, like the animal shaped safety Keychains or resin knuckles I turn into Keychains. While I am aware of the policies of selling these types of items and will work around my deactivations, I can't help but feel my shop has been targeted. 11 of my listings have been deactivated in total over only three months of my shop being open, while I see several other stores that also ship out of California, a state where knuckles of any material and used for violence are considered knuckle busters and are illegal, that have hundreds of sales of not only knuckles made of actual metal but knuckles of all materials, shapes, and sizes. I would just like to understand how I can sell my accessories without being targeted, or how these other sellers that seem to be ignoring Etsy policy in my same state can get away with making hundreds of sales while I struggle to make a few. Not to mention, when I tried to contact Etsy to make an appeal, the site refused to send my filled in appeal, let alone let me see the entire page form. Got an email from Etsy saying we find that large amount of sales questionable so we’re going to hold 75% of all your sales for 45 days in case you’re a scammer. So they obviously don’t expect new sellers to thrive. And they have no problem making you feel dodgy. I had repeat buyers, no complaints, all feedback left was 5 star so it’s just weird that they do this. Trustpilot is full of people complaining. They also have another service called pattern and they automatically sign you up without asking and it’s your responsibility to figure this out, tell them to cancel this subscription to their pattern account and they refuse to refund fees even though I asked before they took payment. They took 3 payments before I was able to get a real person to contact me and they only refunded a portion of one of the payments. I’ve closed shop. I only joined because they have this wholesale persona but, it’s fake. They are extremely money hungry and their customer service team is unprofessional and ignorant to their position. Waste of money and timeEtsy is a waste of time and money. After 3 months I messaged all my customers (3) to tell them I’m closing my shop but have a website. As Etsy are a rip off and charge too much. In 3 months I took £47 and only saw £11 of this once ad fees card fees and any other Etsy made up fee was taken. They charge for everything it’s a joke. It’s also useless when you can’t edit orders. I had to cancel an order and ask the customer to reorder. As he wanted more of a product. I’m so much more productive on my website now and my events. Listing is a nightmareThis would be a very helpful tool if listing wasn’t such a nightmare! If you are halfway through a listing, even if you have all your photos added and descriptions written and categories chosen, then you switch to another app or accidentally flick the “new listing” window down by scrolling a little too far, you will lose the lot! It doesn’t save it as a draft either. Have just lost something 4 times we tried to list for my husband’s store. WHY would you let the app bin all the info someone has put into a listing without even holding it as a draft or popping up a warning that they are about to delete all the info they’ve just put in?!.Version: 3.53

They will cherry pick who they want to sell on etsy. i been selling on etsy for months then all of the sudden they suspended my account with no reason and worst is never get an email. Horrible navigationMaybe this is just me, but navigating this app is so frustrating that it made me consider relocating my stuff to another site entirely. The navigation makes no sense to me, I’m always struggling to find something. In order to reactivate inactive listings, the only way I could seem to find the listings was via my sale history, because the listings tab was totally blank. Inactive products (which at the time was all of them) couldn’t be found anywhere until I went to the order history. Eventually I realized that when you go to Listings you can switch the filters to include all listings instead of just the active ones, but the filters menu just flat out did not work at all. Only after closing and reopening the app repeatedly could I even see that the filters were working, but it still wouldn’t respond visually. Tapping a filter would appear to do nothing but closing the filters tab would show whatever you had done actually went through. I could go on and on. The app looks fine and I don’t have any issues with the shopping app, but the seller app? Navigating it is more disorienting, inconsistent and unreliable than probably any app I’ve ever used. This has been the case with both the iphone 12 and the 13 mini. Etsy- Please, redesign the flow of the app and bug test it as much as humanly possible..Version: 4.2

Used to workThis app used to work just fine, but sometime in early 2017 it started to fail on me regularly. Selling from Listings is nearly impossible. Listings don’t load quickly at all, searching thru listings is next to impossible, and listings are not totally up to date with my website if I changed any info or have a current sale or promotion running. AND they eliminated the feature to apply a discount at checkout. So if I have a listing 25% off for the month, but that isn’t reflected in the app and I can’t apply the discount at checkout, I have to do a Quick Sale, which totally negates the whole reason I use this app to keep my shop inventory up to date. I may have to revert back to just making sales via quick sale or PayPal and updating my shop inventory when I’m at the computer after an event. Reinstalling the app and re-logging in has not resolved my Problem and it’s been almost a year of an app that is next to useless. It literally took me 7 minutes last July to perform a Sell from Listings at an art festival and all I could do was continually apologize to the client. Total fail. This App is TerribleI’m a new Seller (on Etsy) & trying to list them items thru the App has been the Worst Experience! I never write reviews but I’m tech savvy & it’s taking me hours to try to get my stuff listed thru the App. And for some reason the App doesn’t save your listings in the Draft section. So as you’re scrolling thru the menu options, if (when) you accidentally swipe the screen all your progress is erased & Not Saved in Draft‼️🤬 Want to just Save as you go along so that doesn’t happen?? There’s No Option for that‼️And if Esty says there’s any of their so called “Errors” in your listening it Won’t Save‼️ There tools make it hard to find & edit options, when I put in Shipping Box dimensions it keeps giving error messages- Apparently the Apps Shipping tool doesn’t like non Post Office Standard size boxes 📦 In Summery, I hate this App… Listing items & having to add detailed photos, descriptions, measurements & Shipping info is already time consuming enough with constantly loosing your progress too 🚫.Version: 3.40

Too Buggy to be HelpfulAt first this app was convenient because I take product photos with my phone, so creating listings in the app without having to deal with the cloud or whatever for photos was great. But this app has too many bugs with adding photos now to be worth it. Multiple times this week I have tried to add new listings to try to build momentum (baby Etsy seller, baby handmade seller period) and actually make some sales with Cyber Week promos, a social media follower coupon, all that jazz. But when I try to upload photos of my items, the app freezes and I have to completely close it and start it over. Again. And again. And again. And maybe I’ll get one or two listings done if I’m lucky before the problem starts again. So now I’m going to have to go to the desktop to create all my listings. I’m so aggravated that I’m seriously rethinking using Etsy as a platform period. The listing process is cumbersome and time consuming already without these issues. I’ve been promising new listings on social media for the sale and now I’m having to delay things because I can’t get things listed from the app and have to navigate photo transfers. Not good for my morale as a new seller and not good for my tiny infant shop. And yes, if you’ve made it this far reading through my rant, I do have the latest version of the app and my phone’s software..Version: 3.29

Not greatRecent update kept logging me out of the two accounts I use, then on one of the accounts it said I had no active listings when I did and now that is fixed the pay your bill function is broken! Rather then going through to the choice of payment options it just jumps back to the bill amount! Also while I’m here trying to set up a sale or promotion using the app in an iPhone SE is impossible as the confirm buttons are always off screen and there is no way to scroll to them. This app is not great at all for such a big company..Version: 3.46

Your listing process stinksI am growing increasingly frustrated with the time wasting process of attempting to list items for sale on Etsy. There is no guidance as you are listing an item if you make a mistake until you get through the process to actually trying to save the listing into your shop and you get a message that you that you are missing info and can either save the listing for later or delete it? Why would I go through the cumbersome process of listing an item only to delete it because you want more information in order to make it an active listing? On top of that, I am getting crazy requirements to list “production partners” - whatever that is - when all I am adding is a vintage item for sale. I was forced to save my latest listing “for later” because I couldn’t get around this production partner field and now, as I went back into my shop, my saved for later item is GONE. What a colossal waste of time it is to list and maintain an Etsy shop - not to mention the fact that Etsy holds my money from a sale for at least a week. It’s my money so once an item is paid for, give it to me!! Very unhappy! 😡.Version: 2.91

SuspendedJust a warning they will suspend you for no reason and keep up every single shop reselling stuff from Ali express. I had a 5 star shop and was suspended almost 3 years ago and was NEVER able to talk to an actual person and was continuously replied with “this is the last time we will respond to your emails” I do not care what any body from this app has to say about my account. An overall 5 star shop. Any case that was opened was RESOLVED. They said “it will deter people from buying again on Etsy” if they have a poor experience with my shop. How about all these drop shipped items and 1-2 star shops you keep activated. You preach small business but I can guarantee that ETSY does 100% NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I have read so many similar stories as well. I went from having a steady income to NOTHING because of the company. I know any body reading this from Etsy does not probably are one bit. And if they did they would reactivate my 5 star account. But no, they need to win. They need to put me down in anyway they can. Shameful. I have a eBay account with 600+ items sold and 100% positive feedback. Etsys reasoning make NO. SENSE..Version: 4.2.2

DisappointedIt has happened a few times that if I accidentally swipe to the bottom of the screen, my unpublished listing completely disappears - not even appearing in the drafts. I had already entered almost all of the information so this was very frustrating. Additionally I was frustrated that they enrolled my ad into an offsite program that ended up taking $15 from my sale, and that is on top of what I paid for transaction fees and my regular costs to publish the listing. In total it took $25 from the sale of my item. And after I pay to ship my item, this will end up being probably $35-$40 taken from the total. I was not aware that Etsy would list your products into 3rd party ad sites and then take a few that large from your sale. Of course, they surely have it disclosed in the fine print somewhere, but it would have been really nice to have been given the option up front and to have personally chosen to be included in offsite advertising. I felt as if this was done without my permission and although I’m grateful to have made a sale, I definitely would have priced my shop items higher if I had known I was going to be paying a 15% fee to Etsy on the sale. Overall I am frustrated and disappointed with the Etsy experience..Version: 3.53
