✓ Planed StrategyI started trolling in 1982 by using the old fashioned way of line counting by counting how many times the level wind went back and forth to determine the depth of my crank baits. Until Precision troll came along after buying line counter reels I was still guessing how much line to let out for each lure. ✓ Won't get in the boat without the appI'm a weekend warrior and this app makes me a much better fisherman as I follow fish from the deep to shallow areas. Love the ability to buy more hooks as my tackle box gets larger. The app is really as easy as picking the lure, line, and depth and it tells me how far back to put the bait behind my boards. ✓ Great App!Just started using this app. I decided on the lifetime pkg. it's awesome. Quick and easy adjustments as fish suspend in different parts of the water column. I can change depths on the fly. Looking forward to Arkie lures being on here! They make a good lil crank. In the future it'd be cool to also have "pushing vs. pulling depths." ✓ Won't go trolling without it!!I have this app on my I pad and iPhone. I had the trolling bible before this and it was great. This was the next logical step due to all the new updates that can come at any time. There are so many new companies and new baits from current companies that come thru how else would you keep up. Have been playing with it during mid-February downtime, but am not totally comfortable with it yet. I purchased my first hard copy when the book was brand new. . .what a game changer! The old app/version allowed me to view a graph and print it from a screen shot which is more helpful in the boat than fiddling with my phone on the water among 3 fisherman. ✓ Great infoHonestly I’ve been only using for a full year now. It’s obvious you guys are actual fisherman and the app is very easy to use and follow. Not sure if it’s possible but like most fisherman we aren’t sponsored by tackle companies and just don’t have the time to read up on all the new crankbaits lures that seem to be flooding the tackle stores as of late. I’m wondering if there is a way to sort lures by depth first so any angler can then just sort through those lures and go from there. For example if u are going to LOW in august and want to fish the basin an are looking for all lures that will troll say between 25 - 30 ft on planer boards is that possible? Maybe it would be just too complicated because of all the techniques that are available to get even shallow baits down that deep say using a downrigger. When salmo came out with the deep diving free divers I didn’t even know they existed until someone told me about them. Anyways great info and very easy to use once u get it figured out. Only thing I’ve seen is not too much data on lead core and snap weight numbers but there’s so many lures out there that it would be next to impossible to keep up with all of them. ✓ Very good option/ app to have!My son and I are very big on walleye fishing in the western basin of Lake Erie from Toledo to Marblehead Oh. We use the app extensively for trolling different systems and tactics whether it’s using crankbaits running high in the water column, crashing shad style into the bottom or into the reefs, or using dipseys or jet divers to troll spoons and harnesses. ✓ Great Info, But...Purchased lifetime sub, takes a lot of the guesswork out of lure selection, resulting in more fish in the boat and greater confidence choosing lures and playing with colors or other variables instead of wondering if I'm really targeting the correct depth. A minor gripe is the line choice selection is very limited on most lures. Personally, I'd like to see more information using leadcore to put to rest heresy on how deep leadcore "really" dives using different lures and amount of line out. All-in-all, I'm extremely pleased regardless of the initial cost and feel the app to be highly beneficial in maximizing EFFECTIVE time on the water. ✓ Up your fishing gameI have been and am using “The Trollers Bible” from Precision Trolling (out of print) for years and sprang for the lifetime subscription. The data on the Offshore Guppy Weights andTadpoles is great. The segmented lead core information is invaluable. (More information is available on the website.) I like being able to update the data as new becomes available. The one thing that I REALLY, REALLY miss from the print version is being able to compare my unmarked lure with the photo so that I know the data is spot on. Just guessing lure size makes the data is useless. The length of the lure would be a most valuable addition. Landscape mode on the iPad please. Overall a good app that will only get better. ✓ Update to 3 star reviewWhile some errors remain, the majority of the data are more than accurate enough to put me onto Walleyes, primarily with Rapalas and Berkleys . My ratings went from 5 down to 3 stars about 5 years ago because of sloppy errors. I did not think to update my rating until I responded to a question about lines on line counters. After thinking about it for a while, I decided that 5 stars is a better reflection of my opinion. ✓ 50+2 methodTook me a while to figure it out at first Flat lined first then added boards It’s important to calibrate line to counter I do a 50’ Fluro leader to a small barrel swivel in 10 to 15 # range and 14 XT on the spool I also have a 2’ mini leader with snap at the end of to 50’and barrel at the other end Easy to change out 2’ leader for wear and tear If I don’t use boards I add 10’ to my lead lengths for the line that is out of the water I am primarily trolling for walleye on Oneida Lake and my target zone is usually within 3’of bottom I have plans to troll Ontario for Salmon and also the StLawrence for walleye later this year Watching Fishing 411 has helped with the little things like twisting the line up before snapping it to the orange release That makes it simple to release the board with a quick snap All and all Iam very happy with the app and purchased the lifetime membership I am retired and have bad shoulders so I can only jig for less than an hour and this lets me save my shoulders for the fall shoreline night bite.Version: 5.2.139
