✓ Clunky, technical glitches.I really liked the motivational quotes in the free trial so decided to purchase. Somehow managed to download two different versions of Premium and got charged two seperate amounts one for $29.99 and the other for $25.49. Still unsure what happened there. The two different versions of Premium don’t appear to work together particularly well and navigating the app, settings and widget is way more complicated than it needs to be. It also affects running of apps in the background, including causing distortion to music streaming though Spotify. I have an IPhone 12..Version: 4.33.2
✓ Why?This app caused me no troubles but i’m giving it 3 stars because it just decided to lock majority of the categories for quotes on widgets, i don’t know if it was intentional or just a glitch..but it’s plain stupid. who would download an app that would only give them a pick from 9 different quotes? would i really pick motivation on “Feeling Sassy” than “Encouraging words” because feeling sassy is the only one open on the category anyways. i had picked a certain quote on categories and now it’s locked??? are you serious right neow! i know y’all worked hard and probably needed more money cuz you did that ridiculed thing but me personally, i would rather watch ads than pay just to see some quotes and feel good..and i know when you go to general there is the free today section which you could watch an ad to get it but it’s different when you can only have it today vs the time when i had my faith quote forever..This update is the worst, alteast could’ve left some good quotes unlocked but you did ‘‘em all 🤣 congratulations, cuz i ain’t paying to have what i literally had before and maybe some others agree with this. ✓ Deleted widgetsEvery time the app updates, my custom widget gets deleted and is replaced by the standard one…this has never been an issue until recently, and it’s really annoying having to recreate my widget (with custom photo, font, colour, etc) each time..Version: 5.8.2
✓ It would be awesome is everything wasn’t so expensive.So, I got this app, and I was looking through it and everything. Then I notice that practically everything is locked. I press it to see how to unlock it, and you have to pay. Not for that singular one, but to do basically anything on the app at all, you have to pay either monthly or yearly. A decent amount of money, too. I don’t want to spend money on this app MONTHLY just to unlock quotes that I could easily just search up on google or something instead. There is a lifetime option, but thats nearly 50 dollars. WAY too much for something like this, I’ll say. Being already irritated about this, I then come back to the app store to write a review to find that in the pictures that describe the app, it does NOT say ANYTHING about everything being locked. In the picture, there is no lock symbols. Anywhere. It doesn’t warn you about anything. So basically I just spent a half hour only to find that you have to pay for everything. In conclusion, for people who like to save their money and not spend it monthly or yearly on an app like this, I suggest just search inspiring quotes up on google, pinterest, or any browser you have. Its easier, and a lot cheaper. Anyway, if the items in this app did not cost so much, it would be a fantastic app to use. ✓ Some very questionable quotesI really like this app, however I was continually getting shown quotes about suic*de and they were very weird, not motivational at all. Things like “all suic*des have the responsibility of fighting it… though a way out, is a mean and shabby one… it is nobler (not to fall by) one’s own hand” and I’ve had loads of others like it. There’s an option to “dislike” quotes but it doesn’t get rid of them. Luckily there is a function to block words you don’t want to see, so I can block that one word - it just seems like a very odd topic to continually mention within a mental health / motivation app. Developers should quality check the quotes in their default more often or have some kind of higher standing vetting process. “Suic*de is not a blot on anyone’s name, it is a tragedy” yes that’s true, but it’s not exactly motivating is it? Should have saved the others but you get the idea.Version: 4.38.1

✓ Limit of 60 remindersI thought the app was great until the reminders kept stopping and discovered this: For example, if you have 10 reminders per day you will have to open the app at least once a week to continue getting reminders without interruptions. If you don't want to open the app so frequently, you can lower your daily reminders or use our widget or watch face. Did that help you?.Version: 4.5.2
✓ Awful messageA friend has been using this app who is struggling and who I am encouraging to talk and open up has today received a ‘motivation’ quote saying ‘the more you talk about a problem, the longer it will be a problem’. This is an absolutely awful message to be promoting in 2022, where mental health is a huge concern and talking is the biggest shift trying to be made. As a therapist and mentor to young people, this goes against absolutely everything that is trying to be created for any age group to feel safe being vulnerable and to see this quote at such a detrimental time to them is incredibly dangerous. This is a ‘quote’ that should be removed from the app..Version: 4.19
✓ Love quotes everywhereI have set the topics I wanna hear motivation from, which means no Love quotes, yet I still keep getting them. Beside unselecting them I also liked a few non-Love quotes to teach the app. That works for a day, next day the Love quotes are creeping back. ✓ Often strange quotes that don’t motivate.I got a quote that said ‘he didn’t have to hit me to leave a scar.’ Which was really really weird to me, and I don’t imagine does much to motivate anyone? I’ve now deleted the app because the occasional weird quote like that was really unsettling. ✓ Widget doesn’t workI have been a paying customer of this app for a while.. paying yearly. all of a sudden 2 months ago, the widget option stopped working for me. Within this time, I’ve been contacting the company trying to figure out the reason this doesn’t work for me anymore. It’s been 2 months & I haven’t had any resolution. The best thing they told me to do is to delete & redownload. Which I would if I didn’t have so many quotes of my own filtering through my app. If I delete & redownload, I will lose all of my customized quotes. The company gave me options to have the app for free for 6 months… I’ve already paid yearly for it. I never seen any money given back to me. & they say that their developers are working on this issue everyday to figure it out. I don’t believe them. No one emails me unless I email them. If I don’t contact them concerning this issue, I’m outta mind (out of site out of mind) As long as they’re getting paid though, right??? & after 2 months, you mean to tell me you still don’t understand why it’s not working??? ✓ Tap To Keep Getting Reminders!!!Quotes can be hit and miss, but most of time helpful. One thing I don’t like about this app is I continuously have to “tap to keep getting reminders”. I’ve noticed lately the notifications will stop coming and not even remind me to tap, tap, tap. Fortunately I don’t get a lot of notifications so I can quickly tell when I need to press on the app to make sure I keep getting these motivational quotes! I’ve also noticed they don’t even come every hour like I scheduled it to. I’ve already paid my subscription for the year so I guess this is something I’ll have to deal with, but I definitely think I will look into using other apps that don’t need me to constantly check to get what I paid for. Update: I wrote my initial review on Monday and by Friday I got a reminder to keep tapping. i feel like this whole tapping thing once a week can be for people who have the app for free. if i paid for the subscription i shouldn’t have to worry about making sure i get the notifications everyday. if i didn’t ask for them to stop coming then keep sending! ✓ No iCloud BackupI’ve had this app for two years and have the subscription. It never had iCloud backup and my multiple devices had different saved quotes and I didn’t like that. To update my iPhone, apparently the app got uninstalled and now that I realized it was missing and re-downloaded it again, I find a way to login to Apple. I read every single app update notes and I must have missed the login mention. It sure would have been helpful to see that in the notes or mentioned when opening the app when that feature was included because now that I’m back, I’m missing hundreds of quotes. I don’t blame the dev for the app temporarily being uninstalled. That’s on Apple and my small storage on my phone. I do wish the dev had made it known (better) so that nothing would had been lost. At this point, I am considering cancelling my subscription because everything was lost and it’s costing me $15/year for something basic that should have been included years ago. ✓ Great idea, could be improved!I do enjoy this app, but I think the subscription price is outrageous!! I’ve seen similar apps that allow you to customize a lot without a hefty price tag! Sixty bucks for a “lifetime subscription”, but it just doesn’t seem worth it to me. I can go on Word Swag and use their built in quotes, or Google quotes and put in there and make my image look any way I like!! ✓ Love and hateI like this app...but not enough for the year subscription that I didn’t have time to cancel after only a couple days of a free trial. I can live with it as it has been a really rough year and the quotes have been good but I fully expect the novelty to wear off. I really have only had it for a few days. I am unemployed and missing the subscription cancellation puts a bad taste in my mouth for this whole industry of subscription-based apps that automatically subscribe you. I don’t know if this is an Apple thing or if it is specific to this developer but it makes me feel taken advantage of. I had not budgeted for an app of inspirational quotes. I don’t think it should be on the user to actively CANCEL a subscription after the trial ends. I should have a choice and some warning. I appreciate the gift of trying the app and the hard work that goes into creating it but the automatic subscription after the trial makes me really angry and I would expect an app that is working to improve my mood and attitude would be more sensitive to this. I cannot remove my credit card off my iphone so now all trial apps are a risky to try. I get that the developer needs to be paid but I would appreciate a few more options. ✓ Too buggy :(I really used to love this app. I love the option to write in my own quotes that can cycle along with other good quotes I’ve found through the app. This app just has been too buggy at this point, which is sad since it really is one of my favorite apps. Now whenever I add a quote, as soon as I add it to my favorites the author disappears. Very sad bc I can’t add any new quotes anymore without this issue happening. Also, they promise some really cool features, but they’re too buggy to really work, even several updates later. I’m still waiting for the option to only have my favorite quotes on my Apple Watch to actually work. Also, the newest update promised to have iOS 16 widgets, which are nowhere to be found. Perhaps these issues would be fixed by deleting and reinstalling the app, but since there’s no account creation option I think I would lose the few quotes I have left that I’ve saved. ✓ GarbageSO money hungry forcing ppl to pay for positive affirmations and not even a one time fee. Used to be an ok app and now the ads are insane popping up every few seconds and can’t get away for 5 seconds or more. This does the opposite of what your app is supposed to do, provide positivity. It took SO long waiting for a theme that I didn’t despise and it remained until I opened the app again and the theme reset to nothing and now it is no longer available. As the general category is the only one that doesn’t loop and eventually stick on “do more of what makes you happy”, even upon opening the app to “refresh” Per the apps request. ✓ I’m not a fanThe quotes are good and what not, but because apps can now read over your apps, be it your messages or you interactions on other apps, then what happens is the quotes start to cater to those things. Pretty much creating an algorithm based off of what it reads on your phone. Which I found annoying, because if I select for you to send me quotes about happiness.
