✓ Use your words!This app has pretty graphics. That’s it. Oh you can rotate the images too, the programmers had fun. But it doesn’t help you assemble. All they need to add is the audio describing what to do. As an example, when putting on the wheels it’s important which side you put the locking wheels on. Both the book and the app have a lock icon to indicate this, but it’s easy to miss. Obviously I did. This is a great opportunity to make the app useful to point this out! It could also talk about how tight to make the screws. But the app is completely silent... use your words!.SymmetricVersion: 5.15.1

✓ Unrealized potentialSo I bought a garage door opener that had this “BILT” feature. Sounded like a brilliant idea. Eh, not so much. This is basically just a robotic voice reading you the instructions. The associated photos and animations are very basic and minimally helpful. The very first step was wrong in that it did not even match the printed instructions. Not a good start. Got around that, but thereafter I was underwhelmed. This app *could* have provided insight into especially tricky and confusing spots in the assembly, nope. It *could* have provided instructions on assembling the optional extension bracket (for taller doors; a very common occurrence), nope. It *could* have included instructions beyond the basic travel limit setting, nope. I guess, it is free, but there is unrealized potential here..Mhops1Version: 5.12.0

Without notice it will bill just downloadingI can believe that at no stage during the installation of this app from apple App Store from apple iPhone showed that that just installing will charge my credit stored in iTunes Store. ✓ The Instructions Were Completely WrongI liked the idea of being able to use the interactive building guide that this app offers. I purchased the Backyard Discovery’s Cordova 14x10 Gazebo and I tried to use this app to help me build it. It was fine at first but there were little things that seemed wrong when I was sorting parts. I was struggling to get started with the project because the app said I needed parts that weren’t included. I thought the manufacturer sent me the wrong hardware because the app said I was supposed to have 96 of a certain type of bolt and I only had 7. After speaking with Backyard Discovery’s customer service (they are fantastic by the way) they said the paper manual provided is more accurate since Bilt is a 3rd party that isn’t always up to date. When I compared the paper manual to the app, they were correct, the manual I was provided was correct where this app was wrong. ✓ App Is Only About MarketingMy opinion is this app’s main, underlying purpose is to get a way to text and email you with promotions. I could be wrong. The BILD app gives you access to a PDF version of the EXACT same installation guide that comes with the product. Why do I need that? I was installing a product that required me to cut electric power to my home in order to install the product, a ceiling fan, and that took down my modem and router. The app uses the internet, and gets crabby without net access. Who needs an app that seems only to give you what you already have, with the downside being you’ll get inundated with marketing nonsense in your texts and emails?.PhroedrickVersion: 5.22.2

✓ Directions were confusing at times and spares to all the partsWhen you was putting together I noticed that there were steps missed on the directions. I saw that I had a bunch of pieces left from the lock clams that could have been used on my tv stand. Also there was a part of the 3 d model that did not match up if the piece I had. It was missing a lock clam on the model for the center area. Another thing they could improve on is add more pieces. I had a lot of lock clams, clams, and doles left over, but not enough essential screws. If you lose the me your screwed..WolftezyVersion: 5.7.0

✓ Helpful but lackingI used BILT to assemble a Weber E-410. The app provided mostly helpful step by step instructions. It was lacking in 2 ways. 1) Some instructions only apply to the LP version of the grill. The App did not always make this clear at the beginning on the instructions for those steps. 2) Every time I checked the hardware needed, the app referred to bag A. Weber provided 6 bags labeled A-F so I had to refer to the assembly guide Weber provided. The BILT instructions did not follow the Weber assembly guide so it was a little difficult to find the step to insure I was using the right parts. I stuck with the BILT app s process and successfully completed the project with occasional reference to the Weber assembly guide..Fowey1Version: 5.5.1

✓ NopeTried to put a mainstays tv stand together and during the process it had some misleading info. For ex: the back side and the front side were indistinguishable in the steps, and I questioned them but did as they said. Only to get to the end and realize it is incorrect. Now I have to figure out how I'm gong to remove the nails. Very inefficient if you can't use the technology you're given to make simple instructions for a simple product. I've run into a lot of issues and product flaws lately idk if anyone else has. But it's absolutely ridiculous how these companies are operatoring without any regard for the consumer..WredskiVersion: 5.28.0

✓ Diagrams in app are useful however...Let’s start off by saying manufacture estimates it takes 2 people about 8 hours to assemble this swing set. The app was recommend by the manufacturer of the swing set as it was on all the boxes of materials for the swing set. Started off alright but started to realize some things were off, (about a few hours into build) when the directions on certain steps used wrong pieces. If I had use the pieces as instructed by the app it would have posed safety risk to any child using the swing set. The only useful part of the app would be the ability to zoom in on what washer, nut, bolt, or whatever goes where assuming it is the correct piece you are suppose to be using in that particular step since it’s so small in the printed manual. In conclusion, ditch the app save yourself the headache, anxiety, and overall time wasted having to redo hours worth of work and just use the manual provide. At least what I had to put together couldn’t blow up if assemble wrong, I’m fearful of any one who uses this app to put together a gas grill. ✓ This App Made Me Lose A Bet!!Unfortunately for me, we had 2 door knobs to replace & I bet my husband I could install mine faster & more efficiently using the Bilt app ONLY, while he installed his with no instructions at all. I’m one of those weirdos who loves instructions & manuals & I was initially super excited to use this app, (honestly it’s right up my alley!) Well, I lost the bet because the app shows the door latch being installed backwards. So I installed everything in record time, locked the door from the inside to test it & was able to pull it open without unlocking it...what a freakin FAIL! *I checked the Defiant instructions (which were correct) & sure enough, the app was wrong. So I had to totally undo everything I just did & by that time my husband had finished & of course had to step in & show me the “right way to do it.” Uggh...pretty disappointed to say the least!! 2 stars because the app does have a lot of awesome features...but none of that really matters if the content is wrong!.Power_PrintcessVersion: 5.18.0

✓ Wow...I will use this app from now on. However, I would give five stars if the build time wasn’t wrong... not because BILT was wrong, but because Backyard Discovery was wrong and BILT didn’t verify the build time on the instructions. I’ve put 2 of these together. I helped my father in law put theirs together for all the grandkids and it was 6 days after work every day. Calculated guess 35-40 man hours of labor. Well, I like building things, so my wife and I got one for our kids. My daughter and I put ours together in about 25 hours. I believe that with what I’ve learned… I could put it together in 20 hours. Backyard discovery says eight hours and I cannot believe it. There are 236 steps. That’s one step every 29 seconds… It’s a lie..RvconsultantVersion: 4.5.0
