✓ Must own if your a serious gamerThis game blew me away. The old school graphics are charming and you shouldn't be put off by it. The music is so amazing that I went and bought the soundtrack. Seriously good chiptunes. And the gameplay got even better as the game progressed. Be warned it is hard and while the controls are good I would've loved to have a NES controller in my hand. If you think your good at platformers (though I don't know if it qualifies as a platformer) or just games in general you MUST pick up this game. I hardly ever write reviews but after playing this for hours I had to tell you guys. All I could think to myself while playing is "Wow, what a seriously good and clever game." ✓ EndearingI decided to buy this after I realized it was by the guy that made Don't Look Back & used Metal Storm's gravity mechanic. It's incredible. For one, Commodore visuals really take you to another world after zoning out in them for awhile & two, this game is way huge for three dollars. I'm really really pleased by the inclusion of player generated levels & hope to see more added in the future. Music is great chip-tune, especially the haunting title theme. ✓ I BEAT THE GAME!!!!!!!!This has got to be the hardest game I have completed in my entire life! I died 183 times on the final challenge however but that is why it is called THE FINAL CHALLENGE! This is a game that will not let you off easy at the end. What they do is that they save all of the fun stuff until the end which is what got me very addicted for two and a half hours which that was how long it took me to beat the game! I did have a problem with the controls on my phone. I feel like it could be more stabilized because if I wanted to flip I sometimes went left or right because I accidentally touched a little bit of the left side of the screen. ✓ Just... awesome!I couldn't see how a tough-as-nails twitch platformer could possibly translate to touch controls, but having now completed the game, I can confirm that the default swipe and tap mode is fine. Persist with it though; it takes a while to get used to. As well as great gameplay, the chiptune soundtrack is brilliant. It's worth buying just for that! ✓ Very well done.I'm very hard to impress when it comes to app games, but this really takes the cake. Terry took a big step from the simple to play "Super Hexagon" and created a graphically pleasing story rich game to play that I've been enjoying the past few days. It's a difficult game, but by no means is it rage enduring, as when you die it's your own fault, it's not some problem with the hit boxes being too precise or the controls being not tight enough. ✓ I would completely recommend this game to anyone, this is one for the memories.I very rarely find games like these. The ones that pull me in and keep me playing even if I have hit the same set of spikes on the same screen for the hundredth time. The ones that make me want to go out and get all of the collectibles, not only to say that I've done it, but to also see as much of the game as possible. This is a game that I remember screen for screen. I bought this during the %66 off indie sale and if I hadn't caught that deal then I would probably never have this game. It is very difficult, and you will spend 5-10 minutes on some screens. Even up to 30-60 for one or two trinket screens if you want them. But it's all worth it. This game doesn't other many hours the first play though. But with all the extra modes and all of the player made worlds it makes the game much longer. The only thing I can say is that I heavily hope that they come out with the VVVVVV: Make and Play edition for iOS. But beyond that it is worth every penny that it costs, even without the deal. And I hope that if anyone that gets the chance to try it takes that chance and plays through the game completely and fully, then you'll really start to understand how amazing this simple little game really is..Version: 1.01

✓ Awesome, but has a glitchThis game is absolutely brilliant, I've loved it for ages and all the extras and additional play modes add lots more content. The game, story and characters have personality too. There is one major glitch though, and that is that my score will not save at all in the Super Gravitron. I got 7:02 as my best score in my first session, and that has stuck. In later sessions I've beat that score, getting as high as 12:22 but as soon as I exit the game I have 7:02 again when I came back, and I lost the Game Center achievement and the trophy for 10 seconds as well. Makes me not want to use the SG which is a shame as it's a great part of the game. Other than that, this is a good game, and would be easy 5 stars if this was fixed..Version: 1.01

✓ Beautiful game but needs 1 fixThis game is the best game on the App Store. The story, graphics, soundtrack and gameplay mechanics all make this a top quality game. The only fix I need to make this a 5 star is that it needs an option or update for IPhone 3GS to reduce the lag. On the tower the changing colour makes the game almost unplayable. ✓ A Nearly Perfect Game!The reason it’s a nearly perfect game is because the game just freezes when you touch the SS1 teleporter*. And sometimes after you quit a time trials, the screen goes black but you can still flip around. If those bugs weren’t in the game it would be a perfect game! ✓ Mute button?I love this game so much, even when I beat the main story, all of the player worlds have been so fun and I'm still playing them! A really big feature that's missing that needs to be added is a mute button. Sometimes I would like to listen to my own music and play the game, but the game soundtrack just plays along side it which gets a bit frustrating. I want to hear the sound as well, so maybe add two buttons for sound and music. ✓ Very FunI had watched someone go through the entire game on computer, but never played it myself. I figured this was the perfect chance to jump into it. I was not disappointed. One of the most enjoyable and redeeming games I've ever played on iOS. The controls do, like everyone else says, take some getting used to, but I was able to beat "Doing Things The Hard Way" so clearly their functional. If your going for just beating the normal game and are decent at the game, you will probably get about one to one and a half hours out of the game, but even that is still worth it in my opinion. Going for all the trinkets adds an extra hour or so, and then they have a mini-game, a different mode, and a one-life run through, including a bunch of secrets and a story told in part through terminals. I'd recommend this game to anyone who isn't turned off by difficulty in a game, because there will be parts that will stop your progress for about 10-20 minutes. All in all I had a lot of fun playing it. I even played it twice, and I rarely replay games. Great game. Loved it..Version: 1.01

I was at first skeptical upon seeing an IOS version of this game as very precise control is required, which I thought may be difficult with a touchpad as opposed to traditional button controls. However, this was not so, as the controls work arguably even better with a touchpad, as swipe motions allow for great accuracy. Still, a virtual left/right/space set of buttons may help as a alternate control method in a later version even if just to ease the concerned. All in all, a great and faithful port of the original that retains the steep difficulty..Version: 1.01

✓ Awesome--but Golden Spiral needs an update!It goes without saying that vvvvvv is an incredible game. I love it on PC, and I love it on the iPad. The inclusion of the additional levels is wonderful as well--but the screen titled "watch it bend" on Golden Spiral does not seem to be possible to complete on the iPad. I have made this jump on PC--but I spend a solid two hours on a plane ride trying to hit this jump on the iPad and it just isn't happening. I hope that can get fixed at some point. ✓ Awesome gameI loves the game on the pc so purchasing vvvvvv on the AppStore was a no brainer for me, game has a decent story line and has good game play. The default controls are very awkward to use especially on the iPad. I found that switching to d-pad helped a lot. Many player levels to play after the main story. 4/5 would play again..Version: 1.01
✓ VVVVVVI really like this game because the controls are really easy too understand. It is well worth the £2 . But one thing I do not like is you need too collect all the trinkets and some are too hard that spoils it a bit because if you complete the game and you get all the trinkets you unlock new levels , but if you complete the game like me and do not have all 20 trinkets you can only play the old levels , and trust me will get boring after a while ..Version: 1.01

✓ Fantastic game!!!VVVVVV is a true classic and this iOS port plays beautifully. The retro soundtrack and graphics are still fantastic and bring back fond memories of gaming on the Commodore 64. The controls are absolutely spot on, I've collected even the hardest-to-reach shinies in the game. I've also got VVVVVV on the PC and 3DS and this version is just as easy to control as them, which is an incredible achievement. The game plays perfectly on my iPhone 5, iPhone 6 Plus and iPad Air and so far I've not encountered any bugs. For future updates it would be great to have the saves synched to iCloud so I can switch between iPhone and iPad easily. Also, it would be nice to turn the blur effect off so that pixel edges are sharper. Update: Phew, 64-bit support! I was worried I'd not be able to play on iOS 11!.Version: 1.01

That said, the game wasn't great for my sanity. Some of the rooms are designed in such a way that after solving them, you'll know you hate yourself for putting yourself through some torture for a shiny that seems to only unlock chip tunes. If V stands for death, the title of this game would be die die die die die die. The game claims I died 2600 times in 4.75 hours. The title of the game is a representation of the games worst enemy, the spikes, and also represents the manner in which you traverse the levels: Down up down up down up. I'd recommend the game if you like platformers and puzzles and you hate yourself.
