TomTom GO Navigation for Positive User Reviews

Good app but I lose sound sporadically!I have owned many TomTom devices over the years and find them very logical and easy to use. So when I saw the app I thought it was a no brainier to download and sign up. The app itself works pretty well through Apple CarPlay, it’s not quite as refined as on the stand alone units but I feel it is better than Apple maps and Google maps, especially when it comes to its directions. This would be a 4 star review, however, sporadically I lose sound when using the app. Sometimes when I stop for a break and then start again. Sometimes the sounds just never starts, the volume dips as if it’s going to say something, but it doesn’t. The only way I have found that seems to sort it out is turning off my car and restarting the app on my phone. This is not doable when driving, so one of the main features the app should do fails and makes it quite unusable if you’re in a place you don’t know having to rely on visual directions alone. I hope someone can sort this problem, as it’s a real shame..Version: 2.8.3

Best nav app for ioSIf you want full traffic details, speed cameras, an on-screen indication of your speed and the current speed limit, then this is the best app. The only real competition is Waze, which has all this but tracks you and pops up annoying ads, and (worst of all, in my opinion) has an interface that looks like it’s drawn with a toddler’s wax crayons. Absolutely flawless with CarPlay in our Mercedes - looks stunning on the centre screen, very easy to follow what’s going on. Have used this in the UK, France and Andorra in the last couple of months with no problems at all. I don’t use road name or direction announcements, just alert sounds, so cannot comment on the pronunciation issues experienced by others. Good value for the money, with updated maps and the traffic and speed camera service - which works even in France, although you have to keep an eye out for the camera(s) within the indicated “danger zone”, which has always been correct in my experience. Speed camera locations and limits in the UK are *nearly* always correct, but with the constantly changing limits in cities at the moment a few inconsistencies are bound to occur. Not many though, in my experience..Version: 3.1.4

It’s fine, but not quite thereI wanted the TomTom GO app plus CarPlay to replace my TomTom GO 520. It’s a no for me. While TomTom has an ongoing issue with iOS 13 and the MyDrive app I figured I’d give the app a go. The one thing I love about TomTom is their traffic feature. The CarPlay version doesn’t display the bar on the right side of the screen that shows upcoming gas stations, traffic, and parking. For that reason it’s a 4 for me and not a 5. It’s the reliable TomTom directions system and interface, but without the handy bar..Version: 2.3

Good programI use other map apps but they need to be connected to the internet, and I am in areas with no Internet access so they don’t work or take forever to load. I set this app to route just from my downloaded maps and it gives me directions immediately without being on the internet. Exactly what I needed!.Version: 3.2.2

Not up to par, at all.Did free trial, and really wanted to like it given I can use on a iPad. The app for trucks is basically worthless. It won’t find any of my last three stops in order to route me there. Then on routing it doesn’t display truck stops only gas stations for cars. How the app does not identify Loves, or Pilot while claiming to be a truck navigation system is beyond me. Even worse they charge you more for the truck navigation feature. Glad I found it’s useless before I paid for it..Version: 3.8

Almost perfectNegatives 1. Would be nice to pay one price instead of instalments 2. Would be nice to have more voices to download that repeats street names, etc. Positives 1. Download entire provinces and states unlike google. 2. When you go off course it adjusts its route quickly 3. Great visuals while driving. 4. Able to play music and have directions come through as well. 5. Having tell you about speed limits, cameras, etc are great touch. 6. Very accurate apps. One thing I’d like to see is ability in car play to use microphone to search designation instead of typing. Great job on this, my favourite guidance app. Thank you, worth the money..Version: 2.3

PastorExcellent GPS! I highly recommend it..Version: 3.2.2

What is happening? All of a sudden whenever I search an address it no longer shows the suburb, just my city name with every result. It shows the postcode but who can ever remember that and sometimes it’s caused me to travel to the wrong address. Bring back the suburb names! Update - thank you. Disabling online search worked so I can see suburbs again. Looking forward to the permanent fix. Other than this issue I love the app. The speedometer is a bit all over the place lately but don’t know if that’s a TomTom issue or not. Just wanted to mention it. Thanks again.Version: 2.2.1

PurchaseThe world has flipped upside down lately. Economies & money are tightening daily. Monthly instalments are now more of a burden than ever. I personally own the 620 model & find its performance outstanding. I would definitely consider a one time payment ( $20.00-$35.00) much more tempting. It would be awesome to share the app amongst my Apple devices. Regards ...Dave.Version: 3.2.2

Speed warning not workingI have been using GO for a while now. Great app. One of the things I really like is the speed warning. At the moment this is not working. Also many of the 40 kmh zones are not coming up. I have just RE downloaded the app to see if that helps. One week later and still no response. App is useless to me without a speed warning function. It’s the only reason I pay to use a GPS. It’s a free service otherwise. I think it’s fixed now..Version: 2.3.1

Good one compare to free onesGood app, real traffic condition is very handy, but recent address memory is far less than than previous version, would be better if can remember more recent addresses..Version: 1.10

Using with CarPlay by Voice CommandThis app mimics the built-in TomTom navigation in my Subaru. I am considering using it when my free Live Traffic from SiriusXM expires, or if I get a new Subaru without built-in nav. Can I ask for directions on my Siri-activated steering wheel button? Can I say “Drive to 123 Main Street using TomTom” and have it calculate direction? On CarPlay if I just ask for “Drive to 123 Main Street” it routes using the Apple Map. I can add “…using Waze” or “…using Google Maps.” Can I do a similar feature adding “…using TomTom?”.Version: 3.7.1

Free TrialI downloaded the app via IOS 17 but unfortunately it doesn’t provide the option for the free trial. I had this app in my Dodge Ram truck and it worked flawlessly. I now own a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it doesn’t provide navigation. I would like to utilize it on CarPlay. I think it’s one of the best performing navigation app. It provides all the options for a safe journey to your destination..Version: 3.8.4

Good appWorks as it says.Version: 1.4

Traffic info only works on 3GUPDATE: At last this problem seems to have been sorted. THANK YOU TOM TOM! My faith has been restored! Now works a treat. Off to upgrade my phone! I am a long term TomTom user and I would like to remain so. I use this app on my iPhone 6+, and for the last few months have found that traffic info stops working for most of the time. Having investigated this, I discover that the traffic info only works when the phone is set to 3G. It does not work on 4G! If I set my phone to work only on 3G then traffic info works ok. However, I need to upgrade my phone, and on the newer phones it is not possible to set it to 3G only. Hence I will lose traffic info - a vital, PAID FOR, part of the app. My wife has an iPhone 12, and traffic info does not work on her phone. I have tried contacting TomTom, but have had no response whatsoever. If it was a free app, I would just delete it and use Waze, or Google Maps. But I paid for TomTom, and when it works I like it. But it is utterly useless without the traffic info. Please respond, TomTom when you see this review. I really don’t want to delete your otherwise excellent app..Version: 2.8.1

Good but……I have a TomTom sat nav for my car, both built in and a portable one for when I hire other cars and like the platform in general. It therefore seemed a good idea to try the phone app for when I go on my motorcycle. To date I’ve just used the voice instructions via my helmet comms but have recently bought a phone mount for my bike but I’ve yet to try the two together, phone sat nav plus voice instructions via Bluetooth to my helmet. In theory it should be good but, and so far this is my only criticism of the app, the voice instructions don’t always work via Bluetooth for some reason. They’ll work several times quite successfully and then stop working for no apparent reason. I use an iPhone and the Bluetooth connection is usually very reliable, so I’ve no idea what the problem is..Version: 3.7.3

Better than google map for travelI find this app better than google map. If you get lost with google map then try TomTom on your iPhone. I travel for work. It’s the best app on my phone..Version: 3.0.1

Needs voice inputWould be nice to have the ability to use voice input when your already in motion. All the other gps units have it. I think the stability has increased which is good to see. My premium membership will be soon won’t renew until the voice support is added. Also would be nice to use contacts on Apple car play. I would rather support a company that values privacy than other map providers..Version: 3.8.4

Best route options out there.I’m a little disappointed that I was forced into a 12 month subscription without a notification to cancel before the free trial period ended but I like the routing options better than other available apps so I will use TomTom until this subscription expires…unless you are able to integrate user input for reporting police, potholes, objects in road etc. If that happens I will be willing to continue subscriptions. Not sure why you don’t have this incorporated already. Anyway, add this and you’ll get 5 stars from me. Also, I do like no pop up adds but would be willing to see them in exchange for a free app. Been using TomTom navigation for many years. Keep up the good work..Version: 3.1.5

DisappointedAlthough one of the better apps there are a couple of things I would like to be addressed 1 Have the option of adjusting when the speed alerts goes off eg 1km (find 5 is to much) At the present time I am using a speed alert app too. 2. Can hardly hear the warnings eg I don’t think it is safe to look at the screen continually.Version: 2.3.1

…THE Best GPS…Been with TomTom for years now. Had one of their regular GPS years ago then signed up for their app when that became established. The app is just awesome. Maps are constantly updating which is great. Gives all the info needed including traffic. It really is well worth the dollars..Version: 3.0

App crashingThe TomTom app is normally perfect and wouldn’t swap for any other navigation app. Since I upgraded to IOS 14.0.1 the app constantly crashes. Hopefully TomTom will release an update to rectify the issue. I have TomTom IOS version 2.3.1 installed on an IPhone 7 device. Tried deleting the app and reinstalling and the issue continued..Version: 2.3.1

Simple, dependable and easy to useTomTom is easy to use. The interface is very user intuitive and it allows me to use maps where and there are no cellular signals. The UI is more focused on navigation assistance then both Apple Maps and Google maps, providing key detailed like speed limits and traffic camera alerts. It reminds me of the old days when using dedicated navigation hardware. The software is great for national parks where there typically are no cellular services. The subscription cost is reasonable..Version: 2.7.1

Live updateWhere has live traffic up date gone, I have used this app for years and it used to tell me when there was a traffic delay. It has stopped working recently and become annoying in peak hour traffic. Please fix this issue, I have tried all internet and message boards fixes..Version: 2.7.2

JCIf the TRAFFIC LIGHTS and STOP SIGNS are added on all routings, crossing roads, highways, freeways, streets, roads and avenues will be much matching with Google Maps.Version: 3.2.1

Very happyBut speed zones should be larger as they are quite small. It would be good if the whole screen would change colour when over speed limit as this would be easily seen with peripheral vision..Version: 3.8.2

IPhone 13 fixUpdate! OMG, so now we know we need a subscription update to get truck settings… but at £80 you must be joking 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have just downloaded the latest version …. Under settings, vehicle profile, I only have the option to change engine type ….. Is this a bug or another disappointing update? To fix the iPhone 13 won’t open issue. save any favourites you have (you can use MyDrive but I think they return anyway) Delete the app from your phone then Download again. This worked instantly for me. The Tomtom suggested solution didn’t work Update! Tomtom replied to my post with the same advice they keep giving. That advice didn’t work for me so I came up with another solution. It clearly shows they don’t even read the review, simply repost the excuses. So disappointed..Version: 3.8

Still the best Sat Nav appI’ve owned quite a few TomTom Sat Nav’s over the past few years as I always found them to be the most accurate with full postcode search, lane assistance and street/house numbers compared to the built-in Sat nav in various car brands. Having recently received a new Seat Leon Company car I was dismayed to find there was no where on top of the dashboard to reliably mount my TomTom GO Essential using the built-in suction mount. Mounting it on the inside of the windscreen was a no go either as it was too far away to comfortably read. I was aware of the TomTom Go app and considered buying it to use with my Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max mobile but was put off with the many most recent poor reviews. I then noticed the app has a free 7 day trial so I thought I would download it and try it…I needn’t have worried, it is fantastic and I’m back to using the familiar TomTom map interface I know and love. I’m using it via Apple Wireless CarPlay to the large 10” Seat Infotainment screen and it works a treat with clear voice guidance through the car audio system. My iPhone is fitted on a MagSafe air vent mount just below the car’s display screen and it’s every bit as quick in operation as the TomTom Go Essential Sat Nav unit. I’ve now paid the yearly subscription and can thoroughly recommend it to all..Version: 3.8.3

Great app and CarPlay updatesGreat app, easy to use and clear concise maps. CarPlay latest update is great... however how about including the ability to have TomTom in the split screen option? That would make it perfect and raise to a 5 star.Version: 2.3

Great app and worth every cent.Awesome and easy to use..Version: 1.4

Old schoolYou forget how good tomtom is when you use your phone. But add this to your car play it’s perfect..Version: 3.4

Best Navigation by far!!I have tried all the satnavs and I find TomTom to be the best. I drive a truck for a living and it’s routing is spot on and accurate and I can trust it, unlike many others. I use the app on a spare iPhone I have and use my current phone for a hotspot to access the traffic alerts which has saved me time on many occasions. For a small monthly subscription you get the latest updated maps on an app that works smoothly. What would make this app even more amazing is if they would add truck driver features, like height, weight restrictions and lorry dimensions like Sygic maps do. If this was introduced I would pay for it..Version: 2.6.1

Never steers me wrong, but needs a little adjustment.I have been using the Tom Tom Go app for around 8 years. It has always worked well and definitely shows up other free map apps out there. I also have the Traffic add on which really benefits myself as I drive more than a thousand miles a week. My only issue is that since the latest update when listening to podcasts the podcast goes silent, although not paused so a I lose a bit of my podcast, it also the voice direction is silent. I have had a few apple updates since this problem has stated but unfortunately no change. Still worth having if you travel the country.Version: 2.3.1

Lack of customer supportUpdate: Having left the comment below I was contacted by TomTom support and we have now resolved the issue. That is all I wanted but I wish there was a simpler way than complaining. Thank you though TomTom. My faith is restored. I have been happily using my TomTom app for the past year but yesterday it reported an issue with my prepayment method. I logged in, checked the details and verified within the app only to find today it reports I have no payment method and can re subscribe at the full price. Is this a scam? I know the details were correct. The worst thing of all is there is no one I can speak to about this. What is the subscription for if not to support its users? I just want this resolved….Version: 3.2.2

Voice pronunciationI have used TomTom navigation for many years and I am a big fan. Have used three different devices, most recently a Go 5200. Learned very early on to trust TomTom when guiding around hold-ups and that I should. I cannot praise TomTom enough. However , my new car has Apple CarPlay and so have decided to download the Go Navigation App on to my phone - early days but appears so far to have the clear guidance that I’m used to and the map on my car’s display is excellent and clear. However, the pronunciation of names etc is very poor even though I’m using the same voice (Serena) as I did on my 5200 where it was always excellent (even Welsh place names). This pronunciation is very irritating and why I can’t give 5 stars..Version: 3.8.1

Traffic doesn’t workThe beauty of TOMTom is the traffic updates and route planning. It stopped working on my phone. Updated phone. Became intermittent. I ended up uninstalling and doing a factory reset and re-installing. Still stuffed. I have cancelled my subscription and after (I think around 20 years with TomTom I’m going elsewhere. The suggested solution (a network reset) didn’t work. Not that it would be expected to as a full factory reset hadn’t worked. GREAT NEWS - after the latest update traffic works!.Version: 2.8.1

Problem loading in CarplayIt’s fine when it works, but it has repeatedly failed to load from CarPlay when driving, and the fix is to turn off the phone and turn back on, which can’t be done legally if you’re driving on your own. I’ve got a BMW, iPhone XS, might not happen with other set ups. I’m sure TomTom can fix it. Update 17th Nov 2021 - the app now won’t load at all on my new iPhone 13 Pro, just get stuck on the ‘loading app’ screen. This is nothing to do with CarPlay. Please sort this out quickly TomTom. Update 8th December- still won’t load on iPhone, so downgraded to one star until you can actually use the app. Update - app will now load with iPhone, and works with CarPlay, but you have to delete the app, and then reinstall it, don’t rely on updates fixing the issue. I’m upgrading to four stars now it’s working again..Version: 2.8.2

Gets me there..I’ve tried almost all map apps, from apple to google, and some that most have never heard of, and Tomtom is the only one that has an efficient mapping system ALONG WITH (and this is important for me) an audible warning of speed and red light cameras. Almost everyone offers speed camera alerts VISUALLY on the map but I find it EXTREMELY handy that tomtom is the only one that actually offers audible alerts so that I can be prepared for one way before I recognize I’m coming up on it on my own. If my next turn isn’t for 3 miles I’m not checking my carplay every 200 feet for visual alerts... i’m cruising for about a mile and a half before i look down again, so if a camera happens to pop up on the map that i’m unaware of, I get 3 pings in my stereo and a voice alerting me of said camera... THE BEST CAMERA SYSTEM OUT THERE RIGHT NOW.. the app itself has its kinks every now and then as I’ve seen with them all but overall a true 5/5 try not to change much in terms of functionality and I’ll be subscribing when my free trial is up..Version: 2.4.1

Top drawer navigation 👍I have been pondering whether to extend the speed camera subscription on my GO 5000, upgrade my sat-nav or try using Apple maps/google maps as I don’t use a sat-nav as much these days. Stumbled across the iOS app and have been trialling it alongside Apple maps - it’s perfect for me, has traffic/speed cameras/updated maps/offline maps without any hassle, it’s convenient with it being on my phone which is always with me, pauses my music on car stereo to announce directions, and the quality of the navigation and instructions is as great and clear as it is on my standalone sat nav. It’s just superb, have signed up for the annual subscription as a replacement for my aging 5000 (have been using Tomtoms since the One), as the GO premium unit still has a really poor low-res screen for 2020. Hands down better than than shaky navigation of Apple maps/google maps..Version: 2.2.1

Best Navigation App Out ThereI’ve been a TomTom user ever since it was available on the 3GS. I even had GPS dock. I’ve used it in Canada, US and several Caribbean countries and it has never let me down. I love the micro map updates instead of the multi GB updates but which it would automatically download. Every time I open the app there is a map update waiting for me must manually initiate. Should be an option to auto update upon opening with pre-approval options via cellular and wi-fi. CarPlay could use some work. You can only do about 1/2 the things via CarPlay still need to use the phone most of the time. Was disappointed when annual subscription’s started but I get it. I also miss the option to update the speed limits. Keep up the great work..Version: 3.6

Why Tom Tom is the bestAfter over 20 years using my Tom Tom, I have been super impressed with all of the features. Maps are very up to date and I can’t recall ever being mis-led to any destination. From the early days using a Tom Tom navigator to now being on my phone, I have travelled the length & breadth of Australia, and it has never missed a beat. Thank you. Paul R..Version: 3.3.3

Car playGood to see the app finally has CarPlay but I can’t see the live traffic displayed on the CarPlay view? Is this a feature that will come.Version: 2.0

Good app for motorcyclists - could be betterI have only tried the free version so far. I think it’s a good app for motorcycle riders. The good: - lane indications are clear easy to understand at a glimpse - it refreshes quickly, route is snappy compared to google maps - offline maps saves phone battery - the route bar with upcoming gas stations on it is a game changer on a motorcycle.. no more stopping to search the next pit stop - the course to follow on the map is clear, quick to understand, free of distractions - you can choose the curvy roads as a preference, and exclude unpaved roads. What could be better: - more configuration for the interface visual aspects ( for example the street names are not easy to read, would love to be able to put all text on screen bigger, or have grayed area for contrast and the next street name over it) would be nice to be able to adjust text size, or on screen items placement a little (with my helmet on, the bottom of the screen it not that easy to see at a glimpse. - could have some Color profiles (not a must but would be nice) What would be a game changer: - include an option to have the weather maps on an overlay in there. I’d be paying this app AND a surplus for the gps features combined with weather maps. On a motorcycle I want to be able to avoid rain or see “you will hit a rainfall in 25 minutes on this course” so I can safely stop and put on my rain gear or wait at a coffee for the rain to pass. It would be phenomenal if I could select a course that avoids rain. Or just know where on my course the rain is gonna hit. Right now I have to juggle 2 different apps, stop at a gas station and interpret where the rainfalls are compared to my course, resume riding and hope for the best. 5 stars and take my money if you can implement this. Overall: I recommend the app.Version: 3.2.1

TomTom GomVery impressed with the TomTom Go , but why will it not connect to Bluetooth in my car, not many of us have CarPlay so why have you not considered the majority of users. My car is only 18 months old Toyota RAV 4, Please make this app available to use with Bluetooth or it’s not for me. I have had a Tomtom sat nav since the first one was made now have a 6200. Always been very good and not a problem. The Tomtom app is supposed to be much quicker with traffic information that’s why I tried it but without Bluetooth connection it’s not for me, Please make this available for everyone. Thank you. I installed Tomtom go on my phone so I can get live Mobile camera alerts which I DO NOT get on my 6200, So why is it not suitable to connect to Bluetooth, not many cars have CarPlay. Even Toyota only fit on selected cars..Version: 2.3.1

Please reinstate ‘celebrity voices’I relied on your predecessor Tom Tom navigation app for many years, and to amuse my children had downloaded Darth Vader’s voice. The children are now grown up and have their own cars, but I miss Darth Vader and his exhortations terribly! The new version has otherwise been excellent so far, but please oh please won’t you reinstate Darth Vader?.Version: 2.6.1

App PurchaseI had a Tom Tom navigator device which was outdated, So I decided to get the App with the Annual subscription for my iPhone max xs . I’ve been using it often, it’s extremely user friendly, efficient to search up places with quick finds. Thank You Tom Tom for reliability and quality..Version: 2.8.2

Problem fixed!!!Hopefully this review helps someone! I upgraded my phone, had issues loading the TomTom application. I deleted the application all together (make sure you don’t cancel your subscription) Downloaded the app again & started from the beginning. Deleted, downloaded, rebooted, back to working again. Unfortunate hassle but hopefully this information works for someone out there experiencing issues!.Version: 2.8.2

Great GPS AppI did a comparison between google maps and Waze and I am really happy to say that this app is now my go to navigator and is definitely worth the money and I’ve gone through a LOT of GPS devices and gps apps. It helps me get to job sites for work much quicker then said devices and apps. Toll avoidance could use a bit of work and I’m still waiting on proper iPad support, other then that I can’t really find any issues with it. Which is great the the fact I have the option to only pay $6 a month is even better. I may end up going for a yearly subscription very soon as well. Great app. I did write a review before on this app basically requesting iPad support but I’ve decided to edit it with an actual review. I know it’s most likely been buried by other reviews, heh. I also noticed that this app has recorded voices and not just computer TTS voices. If your going to download more voices for this app I suggest using the James voice. You’ll get a bit of a kick out of it and people who have been in my car with this running have also gotten a kick out of it..Version: 3.4

Great SatnavGreat sat nav with easy to use menus and really really accurate traffic data and useful things like average speed checks during those zones on motorways. Compatible with CarPlay as well. My only criticism is the new rerouting due to traffic is not as good. I wish it would just ping up with an option like it used to, rather than giving you some hard to read green alternative at -2 mins or whatever right before a junction or alternative. I would prefer to make the decision early and just change the route. It can all become a bit frantic just before a junction if you are trying to read how many minutes it might save and still take the correct turn..Version: 2.6.1

AwesomeI really love tomtom go, but I hope I can change the background colour and icon. I suggest tomtom can do one more thing, provide different routes for different vehicle. For example, tour bus, truck, car... etc.Version: 1.9

AppGreat app. But can’t get rid of it showing petrol stations. Would like it to show charge stations instead.Version: 3.2.2

Reliable. Easy to useI have used many other maps. This is the best. Easy to use. Easy to add places abd favourites. Easy to remember where you parked the car! Very well priced. You won’t regret purchasing. Comprehensive maps. Often updated. I like the ability to change the route to walking. Cycling. Missing toll roads. Great product thanks..Version: 3.2.1

5 years of good service ruined in 10 secondsI don’t normally write reviews but I’ve got to the end of my patience. Started about two weeks ago when I started to have the app freezes whilst navigating, not much use if you have to pull over every hour or so. Then it settled down and hasn’t done it since. But now you have tanked a really good app by screwing up map downloads, I too cannot download the UK South map. The whole point of this app is offline maps, well you screwed that up! Whilst you get that sorted I’ll head over to Google maps, may not return….. Update Finally got the map to update. Updated review to 4 stars as when it’s working it’s good but being mapless when you need it isn’t so good.Version: 2.6.1

Mobile CamerasHi love using TomTom and been using it for many years now, everything is perfect about this application. My only problem is that mobile speed cameras are not up to date properly sometimes I see mobile speed camera van on road but no warnings on TomTom app which is very inconvenient. Waze is much better in that sense as they are very good with police and speed camera updates. Please could you do something about it as I said I’m very old user love the app and will be using in the future but sometimes I have to keep Waze on in the background just so I can get speed camera warnings. Thank you.Version: 2.8.2

Has great potential. As at today, TomTom has nigh on impeccable coverage around Australia, and the core functions of the app (traffic, route-planning, guidance etc.) create an experience that is competently able to compete with Google Maps. Despite this, the app has potential for an even better experience, such as being able to customise the aesthetics, allowing for satellite imagery as the map, heavy-vehicle routing and iPad and Apple Watch support..Version: 3.2.2

Great for no service areasI’ve recently started traveling in areas of no cell service. And, wanted offline maps incase I lost the route information in an area with no coverage. It has worked perfectly so far. I used the old TomTom devices for years, but mostly have used apple or google for the last ten or so. I’m still getting used to the user interface, but am very satisfied thus far..Version: 2.6.1

Great appUsed it for my trip in the US and it worked perfectly. Upside: The speed real time speed is shown, easy to use and they show distance between each gas station or before traffic which is great on long trip. Downgrade: they don’t indicate the exit number only the name and you have to download each state you’ll be going through. Also not sure if it’s worth paying when google map is free. Would probably use it again for an other trip there if it’s cheaper for short periods or free!.Version: 3.2.2

Speed alerts essentialThe variable traffic conditions mean I always use the navigator even on my commute. I use Tom Tom because of speed alerts - I am sure it has saved me a fine or two..Version: 3.1.5

Excellent et Merci !Toujours à jour et fiable , merci 👍.Version: 3.7

UselessCompletely useless for iPad, get your act together !!.Version: 1.9

Tomtom Go to Go!I have used TomTom on my iPhone since the earlier version with screen mount and have maps for both NZ and Aus. I took advantage of the upgrade to Go when it was offered and have genuinely tried to get my head round its operation but to no avail. In fact, for most trips I will initially try to plan in Go, but have always given up and reverted to the previous version which I simply find far more intuitive - thank goodness I kept it on my phone when I upgraded! My issue now is: where to from here? And I won't be trying to find the answer with Tom Tom Go!.Version: 1.9

One of the better offline navigation appsI agree with some reviews that this isn’t yet as good as the previous version (I say ‘yet’ rather hopefully). However, I have tried quite a few in-car GPS apps and keep coming back to this one. The traffic and arrival times are extremely accurate, and I prefer the interface to the free apps. Having the speed limit is also handy, but can’t really be trusted on Auckland motorways, where the speed limits are never fixed. I’ve also used this app overseas on Australia and the UK, and being able to use offline maps in other countries without paying extra is great. One downside is that map updates seem to take a long time to come through. The SH20 tunnel in Auckland was shown as open weeks before it was, meaning the app became useless as it always told me to go trough a closed tunnel. This was eventually fixed, but I have found that road changes take at least a month to appear. The motorway exit view is also next to useless as it stretches across the screen in a way that cuts off some lanes and makes it hard to see what it means. The simple arrows are much more useful. You can turn that view off, but it would be nice if they did something about making it fit on the screen better. All up I feel the app is one of the better offline navigation apps out there and worth the annual subscription, especially if you ever drive overseas..Version: 1.9.2

Very nice and user friendly appThanks for such a nice app with free upgradation for the current users with free traffic information.. Loving it ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks to tomtom.Version: 1.0.3

Hero to ZeroI’m a professional driver and have been using Tom Tom Go for about 4 years. It was the best there was. Was. Early in 2020 they did an update and now when you search an address it shows the suburb as “Sydney” (in my case) .... if you don’t know the postcode and you’re searching for a common street name you’re stuffed. They said they were fixing it, but honestly folks have been complaining since the beginning of the year and they’ve done nothing. I kind of want a refund. I paid for something that will make my life easier and atm it’s not. It also started crashing at the beginning of the year and has been freezing on opening..Version: 2.3

Tom Tom goVraiment bonne application Fait vraiment le travail sans utilisé du data.Version: 3.3.5

Most useful app on CarPlayThis App has come a long way, been using it since before CarPlay even existed. The app has great features that aren’t available on the “other” services and 100% Ad-Free!! The Offline navigation makes this a no-brainer. Many of the complaints and bad reviews are because people simply aren’t tech savvy. You want offline navigation without having to download maps? Really?!? How?!? Bad reviews cause the maps look “blurry”….how?!? Some of these bad reviews are so off-track that I’d swear they’re from competitors trying to stain TomTom’s App. For the price of a few cups of coffee a year, the features you get and the constant map updates are totally worth it. If you have CarPlay you’re gonna love this app and the Siri/Siri shortcut integrations..Version: 3.5

Product has issuesIn the latest versions I can’t find addresses in Germany, Italy and the Netherlands. For example when I type in my home address it cannot find it anymore. If can find similarly named roads in other cities. If it was just me I would reinstall. My brother has similar issues. What I can conclude is that TomTom needs to invest more in testing this product before releasing updates. What makes it worst is that the failure happened whilst I was on holiday abroad. Luckily my car has its own built in sat nav or I would have been lost..Version: 3.2.2

Go TomTomSo have used for many years and it seems to work well. This is beneficial in Australia due to downloaded maps. The only criticism I have found thus far, is the lack of caravan support. Trucks has now been added but surprised no caravan as of yet. I always assumed cars and trailers/caravans would be a welcome addition before trucks. All in all, very good app 👍🏻.Version: 3.8

Before purchasing TomtomHi, I hope the developers can answer a technical question please: I am wondering whether full functions of the TomTom app would work on my IPad Air (4th Gen no sim card) connected by wifi hotspot from my phone. I don’t have CarPlay in my car so I use my IPad screen as a navigator, My current issue with Waze and Google Maps is that they don’t work correctly on my IPad when connected by a hotspot wifi, showing that the GPS cannot connect, even though it is working fine, it just shows a dot on the map which is not at all synchronized with my actual position. Do you think it is an issue with TomTom? Alternatively do you offer a trial period. Thanks for your reply.Version: 2.5

One major problem that makes me regret paying for a yearI make a lot of sales calls, and I I never realized how helpful it was to have stop lights on my navigation app until Apple Maps (of all people) came out with traffic lights before even Google Maps. To be able to see exactly where you are turning solely based on simply counting the number of traffic lights you need to go through is crazy convenient. TomTom’s interface is clean and easy to navigate, but until they add street lights - I’m a one and done subscriber..Version: 3.3.6

Great AppWe are currently driving from Qld to WA and find this App to be excellent. It is very accurate and we love the way it shows fuel stops and road works on the side bar. Would be perfect if it would show rest areas as well. Could not be happier with this app, especially with the price. Ended up putting my Navman away and use this all the time. It is very accurate finding free camps on WikiCamps as well and gives you plenty of warning when to turn off the road..Version: 3.3.6

No speed camera alerts offlineHi, It’s been couple of months that i’ve been using Tom Tom go. It has its flaws but still I like to use your maps. But when would we be getting speed cam alerts while offline? There has been updates recently, but still nothing to initiate that. Why’s that?.Version: 2.0.1

Love the appLike most everyone out there I’ve used all other major driving apps, this one is the best hands down, from audible alerts to lack of distractions….I’ve never been a fan of hitting buttons to alert or where every Dunkin’ donut is in my area, just need directions and TomTom does it well!!! Only have two complaints…. Please give the street maps a little more contrast, I like to be able to see how many streets I need to pass before I make a turn, probably just a personal habit but when I’m sitting at a light on a different route I don’t want to be looking at street names, a quick glance at the map could give you a quick ballpark idea of how many blocks before one needs to turn. The only other issue is exit names when driving on a highway, other apps do a much better job of matching what the exit names as displayed on the road signs, this makes it easier to know you’re taking the correct one. TomTom is more generic and doesn’t quite match so if I was driving on a new road I would probably use a different app because don’t want to get rear ended trying to second guess if I’m taking the correct exit..Version: 3.3.2

Comparison with TomTom stand aloneAfter using various models of TomTom over many years I am trying out this app for iPhone. Functionality is pretty good from the usage so far, similar to the TomTom units. Biggest down point is very poor pronunciation of road names by computer voice. Compared to the actual stand alone unit which have improved over the years to be very good, the app version is very poor. At least half of the announced road names are so bad as to be unrecognisable. This is very poor from a product of this nature. I see someone else commented on this fact after a recent upgrade so hopefully this is something which can be fixed. I am sure the processing power of my iPhone far exceeds my TomTom so is no need for this to be happening..Version: 2.8

Map for Dubai, AUEI can’t find Dubai map for download? Is Dubai available ?.Version: 1.10.1

Handy for cars but what about lorries?Great little app for cars and small vans but would be better if there was a trucker version where we could enter vehicle size and weight. Some roads are far too narrow for lorries, and some bridges are too low. Some new drivers can’t afford to buy a trucker satnav yet so it would be really useful for them. ***UPDATE*** “Hey Gareth, Thank you so much for the review - In order to use the truck profile, you will need the truck & car subscription. For more information please go to Menu/ Settings/ Subscriptions/ Select "Truck and Car" . If you need any help, let us know anytime. Happy Motoring! ^Rahyl" Hi Rahyl, I have followed your instructions but it only gives me the option for my current subscription. Can you please advise me on what to do? Any idea when the truck version will be available on IPhone?.Version: 3.4

Stay away from this conpanyBe careful I have purchase a lifetime App as promised just being mambo jumbo tech web explanation and run away with my money and the App is not working any more and now to get a subscription to rip off more people. Stay away from this company..Version: 3.2.1

Thank youVery good.Version: 1.0.3

Map position is not accurateThe car position in relation to what is shown on the map and turn by turn instruction is not accurate or slow to react (e.g. the turn is coming out at 200m away, but the map is still showing that the car is 700m away from the turn). Sometimes the GPS positioning could go haywire when there are many lanes on the same piece of road..Version: 2.5

NEED TRUCKERS ROUTING OPTION:I’ve had SEVERAL versions of TomTom for DECADES, back when I thought they were not only the BEST KEPT SECRET, but ALSO the BEST around!! Well, I don’t think that anymore. I think MAYBE people have been NEEDLESSLY tinkering with this product in areas where it DOESN'T NEED it & NOW, we have instances were CERTAIN THINGS are on the screen that DOESN'T NEED to be. Like just RECENTLY with me (…& not the ONLY time, btw) I was TRAVELING down a particular highway & there were 2 departure exit routes off of the one road, so TomTom is showing ON SCREEN (to someone/ME who’s NOT familiar with the area AT ALL) the route/highway number of the road I am NOT required to take AT ALL & the SHOWS the route/highway I need to transition to at the LAST SECOND, when it’s WAY to late for me to turn while I’m in traffic. And in a LARGE TRACTOR TRAILER no less. In OTHER words, your ACCURACY & NEED TO KNOW information ON SCREEN has gotten WORSE!!! And by the way, you all need a TRUCKERS OPTION for this app, so: 1.) it REDUCES the NEED to carry a LARGE device that may at TIMES attract thieves & MAY be stolen. 2.) My actual HARDWARE DEVICE’S TRAFFIC doesn’t display, for WHATEVER technical reason/issue & I’m PAYING for it & NOT being able to use it. 3.) A TRUCKERS ROUTING OPTION can be a EXTRA surcharge with the ability to type in the particular trucks dimensions, as far as Height, Width, Weight & possible HazMat Cargo..Version: 2.3

Tomtom NZLEasy use excellent.Version: 1.4

User friendlyThanks tomtom!.Version: 1.8

Now crashes on startup and doesn’t work well with CarPlayWas excellent, but no longer. Latest version is distinctly worse. Endless hangs when used, requiring repeated killing and re-starting. When used with CarPlay it forgets to bring the radio volume back after any alert - the only way to get the volume back is to unplug and reconnect the phone. I’m using Apple Maps now since, unlike TomTom, it Just Works. Latest advice from TomTom: Re-install the app. Has that made any improvement? No. The radio or music is still left permanently muted after every traffic camera alert and can only be restored by unplugging and reconnecting the phone… after every speed camera. So that’s every few minutes on the M25. Really not good enough..Version: 2.7.2

CamerasHi just a little issue with cameras when I travel through a red light camera it does warn me but when I travel back opposite direction towards the same camera it does not register the warning of that camera, in fact it’s not even showing up on the map..Version: 3.8.4

Been using TomTom since 2010In my thoughts, Tomtom is one of the best Navi app out in the market now, even I don’t use it as of right now. The red camera alert would actually save you lots of money. Also the clean UI interface makes me rewind the old days that I used tomtom. Thank you developer for making a great Navi app, much better than Garmin I would say. The only reason why I stopped using tomtom is that I use Apple Maps now which is free since I don’t drive much if at all. It’s been working greatly for me..Version: 2.4

No better than othersApp does adequate job, i.e., if will get you from A to B but how efficiently and “legally” is a while other issue. Speed limits and roading are out of date for my parts of my city not to mention rural areas by over 24 months! It insists on routing me through the city centre rather than around it, at peak times (and suggests the wrong speed limit). It also often routes me ACROSS major roads when there is a light controlled junction only one block away. So, as a general route it’s fine but very sadly lacking in other aspects..Version: 2.5
