It seems like they have forgotten about the customers who invested in their products, but now can now longer cast certain streaming radio programmes due to out of date Chromecast software. ✓ TerribleThis app is simply hopeless. It is unreliable, difficult to navigate, and regularly hangs when trying to update the speaker firmware. After attempting an update yesterday the app is now frozen with "updating music flow" and cannot be used; even uninstalling and reinstalling it has made no difference. Much of the functionality of the LG music flow speaker system relies on this app, making the whole system almost unusable. Stupidly, I bought LG music flow speakers a few months ago and persevered in the hope that the app would get better. It hasn't. ✓ Speakers keep disappearing from listYou have spent some time getting your speakers, sound bar and bridge all connected and ready to go (including updating to latest software versions) only to find out that every so often the speakers go missing from your home configuration. The wifi is pretty solid and stable yet, the speakers go constantly missing so if you want to play songs be prepared to spend a horrendous amount of time "adding them up" over and over..Version: 1.7.11

✓ Basically doesn’t work, and it kills batteryI have two major issues with this app. 1. It drains battery like crazy. I charge my phone overnight and was finding it almost dead around 3, despite a healthy battery. Turns out this app had used 55% of my battery despite me not having opened it for a few days. Not good. 2. Probably having an impact on 1 - the network traffic between it and devices is very chatty, and rarely works. I had to disable all packet filtering on my firewall to get the app to talk to my soundbar (on the same subnet), but couldn’t get things working after switching the filtering back on. Apparently this is because of assymetric routing. I could probably fix this, but I am not enough of a network dude to figure it out just yet, and I shouldn’t have to. My Sonos stuff just works. ✓ TerribleI purchased R1, 2x H3 & HS6 4 days ago and have to agree with the comments previously made. This app is useless. It crashes after a few minutes of using it. Regularly resets the settings. Music plays only about 20% of the time. Radio and Streaming I haven't managed to get working. It reloads all your music every time you open the app, so you have to wait some time before you can play, if it plays at all for that matter. Says playing a song but actually playing another song. Says playing to phone but playing speaker and vice versa. Says my speakers need an update but doesn't allow update. The PC app behaves exactly the same way as the App where is loads the library of songs and take forever. When trying to play a tune just says cannot play. Bluetooth works fine and so does 4.1 surround sound. I am a technical manage for an IT company so consider myself perfectly technically able with these sort of the things. I changed my wifi channel which slightly improved wifi inference. The app is the control centre for this kit but does not work, which renders the kit almost unusable. I would advise anyone to wait for a major update and the reviews to be positive before purchasing any of this kit. Yawn... ***Update*** Lost patience and returned all the kit..Version: 1.1.14

✓ Update killed H7 speakerI received the LG H7 yesterday and finally hooked it up. If then notified me of an update and proceeded. After the reboot the led blinked left and right constantly. Shut off the power and same thing. Held down the on/off button 15 seconds with no power and same thing. Update killed my speaker. Had to send back. Customer service troubleshooting was awful as well. Shame. I finally got another pair and why does Music Match keep dropping my three speakers. It’s there one minute then gone the next when I minimize the app. This is on a mesh network fiber 1 gig. They should be the first thing you see when you open the app. But the main problem with the app is if you leave it running in the background on your phone it really drains battery fast. ✓ App is incompatible - DON'T BOTHER !!!LG are very good at Marketing to their none-the-wiser customers. The Music Flow products rely on this app in order for the products to work on a wifi network. The problem is LG doesn't update the app. It is currently incompatible with the current iOS iPhone operating system. I've spent many hours & phone calls with LG support personnel who have FINALLY accepted there is a problem with the app. Apparently the issue has been escalated to Management with no idea as to when a resolution will be available. With the lack of urgency to the huge problem, I have returned my speakers & am now stuck with a new LG TV, Music Flow sound bar & bluray player where I can't get surround sound - as advertised I would. ✓ Great Speakers - truly dreadful appThe LG Music Flow Speakers are great, however this app is a real let-down. You can only play music stored on your devic. It won't play anything in the cloud or from my NAS and is far from intuitive. Very annoyingly whatever music I download and decide to play it has decided to play a certain album instead first, so I have to delete this album each time so I can play what I actually want to hear. ✓ Poor, very poorI’ve just bought a HS6 Soundbar, bridge and H3 speaker. My first attempts to use this app to control them as a multiroom system have been very disappointing. When there are typos in the text of an app, I have to wonder if they even took a look at it before releasing it. I too get the constant notification to update my speakers, but without a link or option to do this. I have the song displayed freeze up, the display of songs jutters and constantly flashes as it reloads. It does anything but “flow”. ✓ It does still work!...justI cannot connect my phone wirelessly to Music flow however you can still use it if you connect manually with a cable. If you have an iPhone 6 or earlier then simply use an audio cable to connect to the back of a speaker and then connect other speakers to that speaker. If you have an iPhone 7 or newer then use the lightning to 3.5mm audio jack converter that came with the phone to connect with a speaker. I know that that cable did not come with the Xs and Xs max iPhone models but just buy one on eBay for a few quid. It’s not ideal but at least you can still listen to your music in all rooms. The remaining 90% is made up of constant software updates that render the speakers unusable, the app's total inability to stay connected to Spotify, the speakers disconnecting from each other and the app almost every time I try to use it, and to top it all off the app just refuses to work sometimes, even if it says it's playing, it just doesn't. ✓ Just get a SONOSLook, I gave the LG WiFi speakers a go and spent over a year using. In that time I can say maybe 25% they functioned correctly. I’ve paired with their awesome sound bar and sub... waste of time. I’ve attempted to stream... unless your old school saving music to a local pc/laptop. Waste of time. What limited app sync they do offer you have to cast... which again. Barely works. The sound quality is subpar and no way to tune for better results. I would not even donate these to goodwill. ✓ Worst app and sound bar ever!!!!!!LG SH7 constantly disconnects from optical and puts itself on WI-FI. Read up to update the software and download the app to do so. Took for ever for the app to pick up the soundbar. Managed to update eventually but the soundbar continues to change from optical to Wi-Fi of its own accord ever 2 minutes. Then when you go to switch it back on the app the app has disconnected itself and makes you re-sync again. It forgets the Wi-Fi password so you have to re-input the Wi-Fi password every 2 minutes. Worst app I’ve ever come accross, my sound bar is soon to be thrown for the highest place I can find and the satisfaction I will feel seeing it smashed to pieces will almost be worth it. This app is not easy to use and the most annoying thing is that you need to reconfigure your speakers every time you turn them on. Music Flow is a good idea but the execution should be better. The system depends too much on this complex app which is more a music player than a tool to set the system. The wifi functionality of my speakers is practically unusable and have become effectively independent Bluetooth speakers.
