Got a ticket. Don’t useYesterday, Wednesday, I walked outside to my car and to my surprise that was the ticket on the window. On Tuesday evening I park my car, and I forgot to check the alternate side, my mistake. When going back to double check I received a notification saying alternate side is Thursday. So I went back inside, my mistake again. The street I was on was not a small street where both sides are close together, it’s a wide street with 2 way traffic and much room to spare. This is the entire function of this feature on the app, the developer has told me this does not work in New York City or California, which is half or more it’s market. Basically app doesn’t work for what it was built to do. The app does ask for you to confirm your location, which I thought was just to confirm that you are at this area, not to confirm your exact coordinate location. If that’s the case, you don’t need this gps feature , as you have to check anyway..Version: 6.2.3

Thought it was perfect until..It notifies me every time I park my car shortly after I park (a minute or two). I was at home and had been home for about 3 hours when it notified me about my parking location. I thought it was weird because I had parked hours ago. I opened the app to where it said my car was parked and had a mini heart attack. It said my car was parked in some random spot miles away from me. I parked my car about half a block away around the corner so I ran to where my car was thinking someone had stolen it. My car was there. Right where I left it. Don’t know why it’s telling me it’s parked miles away from my home but that’s pretty annoying..Version: 6.3.1

Has potential but not quite there yet.A really cool concept, I mostly wanted an app that can provide local data on street parking; for example, my boyfriend is a car enthusiast and has more than two cars; which most have to be street parked. I have two cars (also street parked) one of which I drive one daily. It would be nice to see which spots are 72, 48, 24 hours, etc. spots. From what I looked at in the preview video here it seemed to indicate free parking. It also seems there is no data on ‘Meter’ parking at all, even though I see meters all over the main streets in my neighborhood. It seems to be a similar concept to ‘Waze’ where this info is user reported, and unfortunately it seems there aren’t many users in my area (San Diego) yet at all. There is virtually no data on parking spots I can find. A suggestion would be to perhaps apply local city parking laws in the app with ‘defaults’ for spots without a user input. But that might be arduous to implement. Another issue is that Motion Access is no longer in iOS 13 and some features in the app require it. It seems they have not found a workaround for this which is a shame. I think the devs are on the right path, but until the app is more widely used it’s likely not a convenient app for me at this time. Thanks for working on it and hope it grows!.Version: 8.1.0

PointlessThis old idea that you have launched will never work in a city like Hoboken. When a parking spot opens on a street it is filled within seconds. If you did your homework you would know this. So the thought that you can create a community based app that lets you know where open spots are is ridiculous, its fake news. Not to mention you would have to get 100% of all the residents who park and 100% of all the visitors using the app to make it accurate at all times. The moment a non app user unparks, the app users will never know. Complete waste of time and resources..Version: 6.0

Looks Very Cool But...The reason for my two star rating is that the app wants a lot of tracking privileges — this is ok with my as long as I’m getting a service in return — however, in two cities that I frequent (Austin and Houston) the area served by the app is a very very small slice of downtown. Not that useful with current offering of spaces. However, I can definitely see how this app could be great based on the areas that are available. I decided to delete the app because the area served in Houston, the largest city in Texas is very small, especially when considering “downtown is practically everywhere inside the 610 loop. I don’t want to give away my location and motion data continuously when I’ll rarely be in the specific area to use this app..Version: 6.4.3

InaccurateThis app seems like a great idea and I downloaded it because I thought it would be helpful. Perhaps it works better in other areas, but in my particular neighborhood (in NYC), this app has not been helpful at all and it is completely inaccurate and continues to send me false alerts about moving my car and making me feel nervous that I’m going to get a ticket! It’s not updated to the current parking signs. For example, it is telling me now that I have to move my car at 7am tomorrow for street cleaning. But I looked at the sign outside very attentively and many times to make sure the street cleaning said 8am. This app is giving me a headache.Version: 6.2.3

I thought I finally found it!... but then, I used it. So, after reading reviews, mostly good, downloading, entering my email, finding the verification email, opening the app, and finally, opening the app, ALL THE ALTERNATE SIDE STREET PARKING STREETS ARE MARKED THE SAME... GREEN. So i wrote a snarky review, and got some good news from the developer (so now we are up to three stars). Here’s what we learned: • the ability to see alternate side parking dates is “hidden” under filters (I think). If I plug in a date I want to find parking, only green lines show where parking is available. So, if it’s Monday morning, and I want to find parking the whole day, this app is o.., but not very intuitive for finding street parking that’s not going to give me a ticket on a Monday. Do I keep the following comment: C’mon, you couldn’t use green for Monday/Thursday, and orange for Tuesday/Friday? Someone thought that I did all this work to see where there is some form of alternate side parking... vs. Pay For Street Parking? Recommendation: the default should be for today, at this time, using two different colors for the days parking is free. (Who plans on looking for Street the day in advance?) The default should show where parking is available right now, and filter should enable setting the time for later, or tomorrow, or some time in the future. If you update the app to do this, it would be a 5-star, and I’d even pay for it. Thanks for the quick response!.Version: 5.2.3

All good things must end, apparentlyI’ve always loved SpotAngels and it’s saved me so much time and money due to SFs insane parking rules and street sweeping schedules. Not to mention saving my mental health by marking where in my neighborhood I last parked my car. That all ended today when I noticed that you now have to pay to see the parking restrictions, rendering the free features useless to me. It’s a stupid money grab now that could have been solved via advertising. I’m not paying for an app when I can read the street signs. The original point from a user perspective was that SpotAngels was easy and free to use..Version: 10.1.1

Can’t loginCan’t login with apple, email login gives error when trying to decide response. Also WHY do I need to login on the app but not the website.Version: 10.11.0

Terrible customer service, phantom parking spotI reserved and paid for a spot, but every spot was reserved or restricted, even though every spot was empty. In other words, this service is faulty. Had to cancel and find another garage, and Flo from support refused to reimburse for the alternate spot which I had no choice but to book through another app. She did not escalate my case to a supervise as I requested, even though I provided photo evidence of the garage. Beware of this totally unreliable service. Apparently customer support will not do what’s right to correct their error.Version: 12.2.10

Several failed notificationsThis app failed to notify me on a few occasions that where I was parked was scheduled for street cleaning on Monday between 12-3pm in West Hollywood. Meanwhile it’s giving notice on other streets nearby but one of the most popular free unlimited street parking streets in West Hollywood, one of the very few, that doesn’t have meters and is otherwise unlimited, this app failed to give updates on that street, the street I park on every day. So I got a couple tickets when I first started using the app which was when I first started parking on that street I’m fairly disappointed, and I have two 78$ tickets.Version: 6.7.2

BATTERY DRAINER!!!I downloaded this app because I was going to New York. I reserved a parking and that worked well and that’s why it got 2 stars from me…. Unfortunately this thing killed my battery within MINUTES!! I was going to an event and was not able to take pictures or videos because of this. I thought something was wrong with my phone but after I got home I took a look at what apps my battery use had gone into and this was the only app that was running at the time. This glitch is crucial, what if I hadn’t written down the address of where I parked? With a dead phone late at night… just not safe..Version: 10.2.1

UselessDidn’t find any free parking.Version: 12.2.10

DESTROYS battery life!I downloaded this app after seeing some good reviews about it. First impressions were pretty good and I really liked it saving my vehicles location, but really my phone already does. My city isn't supported (the list of supported cities is very small). My phone battery was dying really quickly over the past week so today I opened up my settings to try to figure out why. This app drained my battery by 43% in a single day and I never even opened it. That's absolutely ridiculous! Facebook and Snapchat (both of which are known for battery draining) only took up 8%! As soon as I saw that in my settings I deleted the app instantly. Only download this app if you HAVE to use it in a major city or if you plan to visit one (but be sure to delete it afterwards if you want to keep a healthy battery)!.Version: 6.5.1

DO NOT USE THIS APPI heard about this app and thought, “wow what a life saver” and it seemed to be too good to be true. Turns out. It is. I booked a parking lot for my weekend in the city. I show up to the lot, which was impossible to find as it ended up being down a car-width-wide alleyway I drove around in circles trying to find, and spoke to the attendant who then sent me away because the lot was “full”. I reached out to SpotAngels directly and explained the situation asking to be refunded. They told me the lots are who charge you for the bookings not them so to reach out to them directly for a refund. After literally weeks and almost 10 attempts to contact the lot, I haven’t heard a thing from anyone let alone come close to a refund. I reached out to SpotAngels again and they told me that if I don’t hear back from them to go ahead and contest the charge from the lot with my bank as there’s nothing they can do to refund me. Use this app if you want to lose money..Version: 7.3.1

Extremely InvasiveThe app wants access to all types of apps and settings that it has no business in, why do you need my calendar when this is a parking app?.Version: 11.0.0

Do not downloadApp doesn’t open at all.Version: 10.17.0

Used to be greatA couple of years ago, this app was amazing. Over the last couple years it has sadly become pretty much useless - notifications haven’t worked for me for over a year (have been in touch with developers about it multiple times, but it just won’t notify me like it used to. All I get these days is a notification every time I park, saying ‘you’ve parked in an area with restrictions’, and that’s it). It often doesn’t remember my last parking location (also never used to be a problem). I never get the 15/30 min warnings anymore. And now, after a couple years or the app working less and less well, they are now charging for anything other than the most basic functions (which don’t work anymore). Really hoping another developer takes this idea and runs with it, in a reasonably-priced app. Really miss SpotAngels working well - I probably would have paid a couple years ago, but there’s no way I’d pay for this app now. I’ve waited a year or so for it to work properly again, will likely delete it soon..Version: 10.3.0

Trouble latelyI park on the street in Queens NY, where the side of the street is important for parking regulations. Lately SpotAngel has been putting me on the wrong side of the street and the adjust location function doesn’t always show up. It has recently happened A LOT that I Park the car, confirm the spot, and at some point Spot Angel converts the location to a parking garage (it happens in multiple locations and there are no garages nearby). There is therefore no reminder alarm and I’ve gotten a number of tickets when I forget. This something new in the last few months..Version: 8.16

Does not workWebsite keeps telling me to go to the app and the app shows me nothing at all …..Version: 10.2.2

Colors are hard to see!The colored lines are so hard to see under the default map view. While zooming in improves the ability to see the colored lines, you can’t really drive while zoomed in because then you can’t really see what parking spots are coming up in the next block. I really wished they would make the colored lines THICKER. Also, sometimes the photos that I submit disappear after they’ve been approved. What gives? Otherwise, this app is great..Version: 10.10.0

No thanksSeems like predatory app.Version: 10.11.0

Used to be amazing but now money hungry.I used to recommend this app to everyone but now it doesn’t work for me anymore. Getting a parking reminder 30 minutes before is useless when you’re not home then. You have to pay to get a reminder any earlier now which is crazy. They claim it is because they give points for parking garage credit now but I have never even booked a garage through this app because it doesn’t have that many garages available. Useless now so don’t download unless you’re willing to pay for the great features they used to offer for free..Version: 10.7.1

Useless so farHasn’t shown me a single spot anywhere in Vancouver when other apps have shown me paid parking, AND I was able to find free parking of my own accord without any app. ???.Version: 8.11

Doesn’t solve my problemI’m looking for an app that can actually use the power of the community like advertised on the App Store. I should be able to post and look at parking available from people that are leaving in real time or future time. I don’t need to know where a garage is, every app on the App Store does this. I just want to know where I can park my car closest to my building for free without having to circle around my neighborhood. Looking forward to an update that shakes up the market like I know it has the potential to do..Version: 5.12

Not worth it$40 a year or $4 a month to see the free parking spots. I deleted it..Version: 12.2.2

Kinda like self checkout…Such a weird system. The information is “crowd sourced,” which means the people USING the app do the work, and the app takes zero responsibility for the information because it doesn’t come from them…. But the users are also supposed to pay the APP for the access to that information. Very strange. Like, come pay us but you also work for us. And also we are not responsible for ANY of this. Don’t blame us, blame your fellow users. But everyone keep paying us. For access to info we don’t bother to verify. What? And if you work hard enough for them, you can “earn” your few dollars a month back. If you’re going to charge people, hire employees to collect accurate information and pay them properly. If you aren’t going to do that, at least give people the option to deal with ads OR pay. It makes no sense..Version: 10.15.0

Stopped giving notifications, don’t botherThis app was pretty good when it first started. You put in your parking location, it warned you the night before that you had to move your car. Then it warned you again half an hour before your time was up. Cool. Then they started asking for your location ALL THE TIME. Why do you need my location all the time unless you’re selling that data to advertisers and retailers? Take off. I’m more than happy to input my parking spot manually, thankyouverymuch. So I wrote a review saying as much and they sent me a nice message about how they were not tracking people and selling their movements and it’s all to make it easier to remember where you park. Sure, I was born yesterday, how did you guess? A few updates ago, they changed the permissions so that if you don’t give them access to your location and your Bluetooth and probably your contacts and your blood type and credit score and I think a stool sample(?), well, it remembers where you parked, and that’s about it. I’ve had three tickets in the last 6 weeks because the app stopped sending reminders unless I let the dev have access to all my information. No thanks, guys, I already have enough corporations making billions on my data. I’ll go back to using the Apple reminders app..Version: 7.3.3

CrapStupid app. Doesn't show you where the free parking places are and straight away is asking for money £30 a year. Right. Unistalled straight away..Version: 10.20.0

Deleted before I even startedI am tired of everyone wanting to track me. I deleted this app before I even tried to use it because I was not even able to look at it without signing in or creating an account. I’m sick to death of it. I get you need to find someway to monetize or get some value from it, but I couldn’t even look at the app to decide. Nope. I don’t care anymore..Version: 10.4.1

Not intuitive, no payment verificationApp is not intuitive. Payment set-up does not give any verification notification once you put in parking spot and CC info. Had no idea I paid for the spot via the app, no button to submit or verify payment. You just enter spot and card info and it automatically def the max time, but I had no idea. No pop up, no email, no text. Pending charge didn’t show up immediately on my CC app so I double paid for the spot using the street meter. Better safe than sorry I guess..Version: 11.2.1

Useless…Doesn’t show anything at all, but yet wants to track you.Version: 12.2.4

Not much senseCan find things, not intuitive, no free parking at all.Version: 12.2.0
