✓ AmazingA brilliantly simple yet highly addictive game. No menu, music, character or shops. Just a golf ball in the desert with a cactus or two every so often. ✓ Great, but...... You can get stuckAt first I thought this game was perfect. It's a lot of fun. But some holes are very very tough to get past, and then you can get stuck, with no way to restart. So the value for money goes out the game, as you cannot play it any more, without it being a big drag and a long boring haul of maybe a thousand tries. There should be a "get past the hole" option button, and maybe an option to go back later to replay it. I'm stuck on a difficult level so now the game is useless to me. Needs improving. ✓ Really great gameAmazing game. I have been playing this for over a year now and I'm up to the 3400rd hole. It's simple, fun and easy to play. No internet connection required, no addicting rewards that trick you into wasting the whole afternoon, no drain on your battery The game is always there and loads up instantly where you left off, no time wasting menu screens. There's no load up screen or ad placement or developer advertising. The physics are perfect, very predictable and the ball behaves exactly how you intend when you take a shot. There's no pressure to get the next hole, no guilty feeling when you miss a shot or turn off the game. You can go at your own pace. There's beauty in the subtleties of the game. If you pay attention very small little things go on in the background. They are just rare enough that they are very satisfying. They are nothing spectacular, just minor little details. You never know how far until the next one shows up or if you've found the very last one, or how many passed your eye, it's all a mystery and there's no way to find out. ✓ Flaws in the controlsThe author released this excellent simple game a bit too quickly. The controls, when you finally figure out (spoiler) that you don't drag from the ball itself but you can drag from anywhere on screen, still have flaws. Worst one is when you accidentally drag beyond the screen edge (easy on the smooth iPhone 6), your ball is launched to your chagrin. I agree that it's challenge is playing each hole well, so it's perfect for a few moments or 30 minutes. No ads or other distractions. However, my goal is to reduce my average score for all holes, so I would be very pleased if the developer would provide that statistic as an option--turn it on or turn it off. Forget flappy golf or golf simulator 2016, this is where it's at. As another user said, "pure minimalist genius". This game is perfect to pick up and play, your rhythm is never broken as you pick up where you left off. I have to give the developer of this game a round of applause, for creating a game that seems so obvious and succeeding where others have failed. Many times I have put this game down and contemplated the story behind the ball. Maybe I'm a rich businessman with time to spare, or more likely I'm just a Californian who wants to play golf. Either way, this game will give you another look at life. This game is perfect to play on long car trips or just just between classes. The orange tinted landscapes mean that it'll be easy on your eyes at night and because you can pick it up and continue and anytime, it's perfect for school. I'm at the 400th hole now and I've noticed that the terrain has changed a bit, making the landscape or mountainous while a few holes back it was a lot more flat. I'm not sure if this game has an ending, but with how unique and different each level is, you could easily replay it again. ✓ Fabulous Game - The Challenge is RealThis is the most relaxing game ever. I love that the graphics are simple, and the sounds minimal and soothing. That said, the challenge is real! You can play a hole more than once just by shooting your game off the screen. So if you think you’ve figured a better way to solve the hole, shoot your ball off-screen - the ball will reset on the tee and you can try again. They focused on making a game; there is detail in the interaction, the flow, and cadence. When, after hundreds of endless desert landscapes, I see a lone saguaro or a tiny water trap, I am amazed at the touch. It truly feels rare and appreciated. The physics is perfect. ✓ A metaphor for life itselfThis isn't just a game. It's a metaphor for life itself. It's kinda boring and repetitive, with just enough variety to keep you playing. There are no real goals except those you make for yourself. Sometimes it's difficult, sometimes it's frustrating, and sometimes the ball just goes right in the hole on your first shot. Some parts are easy, some parts seem impossible, and on some levels you can almost hear the evil designer of the game cackling in his lair as he deliberately stacks the cards against you. Every once in a while there's something different. Something amazing. You have to play and play and play and play just to find these few little tidbits of novelty in the otherwise boring desert. I won't spoil it for you, but there's more than just sand out there. You have to stick with it—just like life. Don't give up! I'm only on hole 629, but I know that there's much more out there. I’m worried that I may have angered the gods and it may be another 700 holes before I see a cloud again. There really isn’t any better mobile game than this. The simplicity provides replayability. It is zen, and I can play it for 20 seconds waiting for a conference call to start up, or for a few minutes before bed. Those decrying lack of options, replay button, stars, and congratulations make me laugh. The entitlement generation that needs to be told that they are doing such a great job for just existing. I like the simplicity of a game with no pointless cruft between levels, no over-the-top reward system, no distractions, just the play itself, with minimal graphics. I'd make two suggestions. First it would be nice to have the option to flip the direction. Left-to-right action (as in Angry Birds) has become an unwritten standard, but right-to-left would be easier for a right handed player. Second, would be nice to allow skipping a level. I hesitate to suggest it because people need to be pushed into finding the solution, and many that seemed impossible weren't, though a few took 100 strokes to get right. But I finally gave up on hole 9249 after 850 strokes. Maybe allow skipping if reporting a bug..Version: 1.12

The occasional changes in landscape, be it a cactus, a cloud, a color shift, brought an element of satisfaction simply because of their rarity. It was a joy to see something new. A reminder of how pleasant the simple things of life can be. However, upon reaching hole 10,000 today at 26,476 strokes, something new I did not expect occurred. Hole 10,001 did not generate. Instead I found myself on the shore of an endless ocean. Hmm, I thought. Perhaps it’s a fluke? So I rebooted the app and there was still no new hole. I hit the ball into the ocean, and the ball vanished beneath the water and did not regenerate again. I no longer have a ball to hit. Nor a hole to shoot for. The game promised infinity, but the game literally ending like this exactly at hole 10,000 seems like it’s an ending by design. If not, the game has broken at hole 10,001 and I’d like to keep playing. As far as endings go, I will say this does seem like a very appropriate ending for this simple game..Version: 1.22

I’ve had the game for almost a year (maybe 10 months) and I finally made it to level 10,000. Then it ended. Didn’t have a “Congratulations!” message it anything. Just a giant lake where your ball will never return from. This was what I used to multitask and hold my ADD at bay during boring meetings / events. Totally worth it. Wish the levels lasted longer so now I have to go find a new time waster app. Previous review: So a month or two ago before I purchased, I read a review about a hole at 2800 that the reviewer couldn't get past because it's a hole covered by a plateau next to a body of water. I was worried about it and also thought I'd never make it that far. Well, I just ran into that hole. It's hole number 2866 and it's a doozy. However, there's a trick: you can't land it directly into the hole. There's actually a land mass to the right, just off the screen. I found it by accident. By sheer luck, on my second try, it bounced off of that land into the hole. As a tip, you can't bounce it off the side, you either have to hit it from the top or on the corner (which is what I think I did). Anyway, I plan to keep going until I get sick of it. Maybe I'll come update my review after I hit another significant landmark..Version: 1.22
