SimCity BuildIt for Negative User Reviews

CheatersI love this game but now there are way too many cheaters on it. Also way too much money for upgrades etc..Version: 1.52.5

A great game ruined by hackers and cheatsThis is a great game which unlike other civilization apps, allows users to use a huge degree of creativity in designing and building cities. The game has been corrupted however by the prevalence of cheats which compromise the integrity of the war component and allow mass production of cloned buildings..Version: 1.47.1

Long time playerI’ve been playing this game since it pretty much came out. Before the snow stuff, before mayor multiplayer, before the advanced houses, before the beach, and before all the extra town unlocks. I’m level 37 with barely 1st town halfway unlocked and been playing that long without hardly spending any money. I don’t think it’s fair to bombard with ads and pay walls and it’s been getting worse and worse as the years go on. Why am I forced to close 6 ads to buy something before I’m able to play? It’s not a good long term business strategy. Studies show that people who stick around with engaging content that’s challenging but achievable will spend money. Put effort into creating an excellent platform that’s possible. Why have electronics needing 6 hours to build and steel with 1 minute. The balance of everything is just unrealistic and it’s gauged towards first time players and compulsive buyers who want to see progress fast. You can still get that, but you need to focus on making the game a little more enjoyable. I would spend money if it was worth it, but I’m not spending money on resources that I can build over the course of the day. There’s nothing in the game that you can’t get with a little patience..Version: 1.45.1

House building and infrastructureI love these sorts of games. But, what I noticed is that housing requires a constant stream of materials coming into the city. Nails, wood, bricks etc. This, although it made me pay more attention to the game, is not particularly that great to me. The fact that I need to manually build houses and upgrade them, kinda put me off this game. I'd rather spend my time on Cities:Skylines, and game for most consoles and PC, not on mobile. Even though you have to pay for it, it feels so much smoother than this. I would definitely recommend that over this. And also, modding and expansion seems so much easier pn there, than on this. Another thing I found annoying is the road system. I just don't like it. First up: It makes roundabouts for you, especially in a 4 way intersection. So far, I haven't found a way to make a really nice interchange, and I doubt I will. Secondly, I found most of the Sims ( is that what they're called?) didn't use my roads. They will always use the fastest way, which get jammed up. When offered other routes, they won't take it. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. Maybe if they were interested in the Sims series. If they had a PC or Console, then I would definitely say to get Cities: Skylines. Consoles don't really get modding capabilities, but the DLCs and Content Creator Packs, make it fun. If they don't have any of those, too bad..Version: 1.40.0

Typical EAYet another failing of EA to produce anything of quality. The game in traditional EA style has so many features to buy, and at extremely expensive rates too, that it’s clearly just a game that’s designed to cash in on the SimCity name, make as much money as possible...meanwhile killing the franchise. However, the problems don’t end there. The game is complex enough as it is, but fails to provide adequate control to users and relies heavily on randomisation for item drops, shipping, and global exchange. Furthermore, it doesn’t reward good planning and hard work of the players, as when you look to expand and level up, the game is intentionally designed to put you at a loss, and force you to spend the next while trying to catch up with the demands of your city, whether it be services, utilities, or worst of all, the tourist information in regional zones. The original Sim City was brilliant, diverse, afforded ample control to the user, and rewarded smart play. This game is just a cash cow for EA and has ruined the best attributes of the old game and is now no different to every other Smart Phone civilisation/building game.Version: 1.26.5

Don’t invest in the PvP aspect of the gameThe game is fun for a while and the developers have created a PvP aspect for when it inevitably becomes boring, and more importantly because PvP is lucrative for in-game purchases. However, there are so many modified and hacked versions of the app that you can’t win the PvP battles (Contest of Mayors or wars) because someone with infinite cash, items, boosters and other hacks will always turn up and take the rewards, despite the time and perhaps real money you’ve invested in it. As frustrating as that sounds, it gets worse. The hacked players are not discreet in any way, and they make no effort to hide it. And the reason is that SimCity customer services refuse to address individual reports, despite having the feature to do so. You will always get the same generic response time and time again ensuring you that they value honest players and will look into it, but the same hacked cities continue to the end of each competition and beyond, meaning you never get the rewards you legitimately earned. When you escalate the complaint you always get ignored. The continuous slap in the face for legitimate and honest players becomes too much to swallow and you eventually uninstall it. Download another city building game where they take pride in the game play and value their customers..Version: 1.33.1

Club Wars - not in the spirit of the gameMy partner and I have been playing this game for a while now. We have our own club with 18 members from around the globe, some of whom have become good friends. We take part in the Mayor’s Challenges and ‘War’ on average once a week. What is really disappointing with the Wars is the lack of sportsmanship and by that I mean those opponents who get just a few points ahead and stay under their protective shield for hours on end so you can’t attack and score points against them. In fact, the team we’re playing right now are just 85pts ahead and have sat the last 11 hours out without anyone being able to attack them. If this is what the Developers intended when they created the Club Wars then I’m done with it. Win at all costs even if it means taking the coward’s way out. This really isn’t in the spirit of the game SO DO SOMETHING TO STOP IT HAPPENING. This has really spoilt Sim City Buildit for me, so I think it’s time to quit and look for something else..Version: 1.22.1

Getting worseThe game at its core is fantastic, relatively simple to run the city and a beautiful palette of buildings that work incredibly well to have a city that as my kids say “we wish it was real”. It has issues, excessive types of currency, too much micro management, war (which makes no sense to me but at least you can ignore it), a “market” that isn’t (and is basically unusable) and I think they have server issues as there is often so much lag it is unplayable (despite brand new latest iphone in 5G and 100mbs network). The fatal flaw however is the stupid greed and monestisation by the developers that has wrecked it. I was happy to spend 5-10 per month on a pass but the attempt to force the valuation of individual buildings at ~20 is just insane (I’d pay 2-3, plus given they only exist digitally why not price cheap and sell exponentially more?). Throw in increasingly you couldn’t complete challenges without spending even more money, hence I stopped spending as the value had got worse and then with the late 2023 season pass changes any value fell off a cliff. Such a shame as I’d have loved to continue with it but they just made it too tedious and poor value to play. As for the “trains” part. it is really hard to imagine how that idea could have been implemented worse. Utterly daft..Version: 1.52.2

Price gouging crapUtter crap. I have to constantly cue up production in factories to crank out steel and wood in order to cue up production of nails in the hardware store, yet I’m only allowed to have ONE hardware store and it takes 22 minutes to make nails. To do a simple house upgrade or even build a house I need 4 nails! That’s 80 minutes! Of course i can always pay $6. There no game here. No strategy on the part of the player required. The entire game is built around micro transactions. This is the worst kind of rip off..Version: 1.27.6

You’ll only get anywhere by spending moneyI really tried and wanted to like this but it’s awful and removed from my phone. I play some pay to win games but not this awful and Grindy. Takes me days to get money for the next big thing I gotta place all over the city by oh they left cause you didn’t do it fast enough🤷‍♀️ all I get from this game was either pay real money or don’t bother at all. And I’ll choose to not bother. Awful game..Version: 1.28.4

Simcash beware!Overall a familiar sim - the bigger you get the more things cost and so on. Not a bad thing, I mean it’s a proven model and works for any number of other games. Good graphics and multiple ‘trade up’ mini sub trades within, but also a few annoying traits - like roads being ‘busy’ and forcing an upgrade with no clear reason, annoying messaging you can’t remove, pushing you to complete challenges and get country themed building you don’t need. Biggest bug bear by far though is the ease (such as an inaccurate touch) of spending simcash. There is no confirmation click required, and as it can relate to real cash is a major flaw (and arguably a technical work around for apples terms which wouldn’t allow click and spend with no auth). The buttons to spend simcash are everywhere, so beware!.Version: 1.20.53

No customer serviceIf something goes wrong with game, they don’t offer any support. They’re great at blaming you even if you can prove it’s a game fault. Sometimes they even acknowledge the fault, but that doesn’t mean they’ll do anything to fix it or reimburse any game losses; they absolutely will not. Find a game with a support service..Version: 1.44.1

Tedious time vampireIt’s fun to start with. You can ignore the ads trying to get you to buy SimCash every time you open the app. You can exchange 30 seconds of your time to watch an ad for a reward. You can get a real sense of camaraderie in club wars. Then as you get more advanced, it takes 7 hours to manufacture some parts, or 9 if you go from raw materials to intermediate and final processing. If you’re in the zone, trying to win a competition and support your club, your fun can disappear the moment you need one item to take the next step. In theory you can buy that one thing, but you can’t search the market place. You have to wait for it to come up for sale and that means staring at the market screen for half an hour, refreshing every 30 seconds... the item you want isn’t for sale... wait 30 seconds... refresh... no item... wait 30 seconds... refresh... no item... wait 30 seconds... the only way to get around this is to pay real money in exchange for SimCash. There are people out there willing to pay hundreds in order to progress in this game. It’s amazing how often you’ll see an item for sale constantly... until you need it. The game knows what items a player needs and they disappear from the marketplace, probably to keep us online. All of those prolonged shopping trips and adverts add up to a sickening amount of time. We only live once. Why waste hundreds of hours on a leech of a game?.Version: 1.28.4

SUPER IMPORTANTThis game is so good. However I do feel that the game needs some more stuff considering I don’t feel like playing that much anymore, some would be being able to build bridge like roads (not paying for them unless you upgrade) and also being able to build them on roads so it’s not restricted to water. More space would be great and making the game quicker. Everything takes waaaaay too long. Being able to get buildings and much larger city area would be great. With the city area I feel it is way too difficult to expand so please make that easier EA. Also being able to design residential buildings to make it unique like a real construction site in real life! Also getting more rewards would be great and making it easier. I do feel like the bridges and the custom buildings are super important to add. It would also be great to have way more customisable stuff like shopping malls and as I said before custom buildings. Otherwise the game is good but needs more stuff or players like me would be getting bored as I am. PLEASE SEE THIS EA..Version: 1.39.2

Very limitedVery limited, sim city is very very limited, can’t do much before you have to start paying, for all who is considering this, might as well use something else on the PC.Version: 1.24.4

Typical F2P clicker THEMED as a city builderThis is not really a city builder or city simulator, and is more of a typical freemium clicker game with In app purchases in the Theme of a City Builder. This is absolutely nothing like the old Simcity Franchise except in name. Feels far too much like working in a laborious low paid job, one that you aren’t getting paid for. City Storage (the lack of) and the difficulty in getting items to upgrade it is by far the biggest bugbear and frustration. So much monotonous repetitive grinding going on for such little gain in enjoyment. Leveling up is almost always a bad thing, instead of opening up opportunities, you open up potential obstacles when you level up. Have saved the city to game centre (if I want to resume at a later date) and will be giving this game the flick..Version: 1.28.4

Got worseI used to play this game a few years ago, then I stopped and only started playing again about a month ago. I had to start a new game because my previous one was lost. Overall, the game is more or less the same. But small changes make it much more annoying to play. For instance, the epic projects. It used to be much easier to get at least the bronze coin. Now it’s basically impossible! That’s so annoying! They’re trying to force you to spend real money to finish them. Or again, the mayor competition. I often get to the point where I cannot fulfil any of the requests because the time given is not enough or because they require me to do things I haven’t even unblocked yet. Or the advert that starts sometimes automatically when you are producing something. War & Clubs. Ugh. I mean, why? They’re so stupid and it’s so tedious to play them! Moreover the war objects occupy space in the deposit so you need go get rid of items you really need to make space for those! It’d be better to create a war deposit! And now this stupid monster appearing and bothering me with notifications as soon as you open the game... boring. It’s a nice game, but I wish it was like before....Version: 1.34.1

Rip simcityTypical pay to win user hostile mobile game.Version: 1.51.1

Garbage gameI thought the game was going to be fun but ended up being annoying and frustrating, I can have so many factories but only 1 hardware store, that is not how things work in the real world. EA just let us build our dream city, we need a sandbox game not a cash grabbing penny pinching Hay Day..Version: 1.42.5

Ads are ridiculous!I love this game but the new update means you get ads constantly when trying to build items in your factories. Since that is a critical part of the game, I am forced to watch ads pretty much every other time I try to build resources. It’s enough to make me want to quit the game altogether because it just isn’t fun anymore. I’m a high level player and have had the game for years. I don’t mind watching ads for bonuses or to speed things up, but this is so ridiculous. ***update*** Ads are still annoying. I think they tried to fix how often they pop up but I really think it’s ruining the game. I don’t want to watch 60 seconds of an ad to speed up something that takes 60 seconds. 🙄 I’ve already lost one of my best club members because of this and I’m seriously thinking of quitting myself until they sort this out. It’s especially frustrating because even if you try to exit the ad, a second one pops up that you aren’t able to close. The other annoying thing is that it is pretty much impossible now to get the resources you need to expand. You used to be able to earn them by watching optional videos, which meant people were regularly selling them in the market. Now it’s basically impossible to earn them without spending money and no one ever has enough of them to sell them off. Such a bad move by the developers..Version: 1.26.8

I'm really sick of this gameIt's rigged, anytime you need an item it suddenly disappears from the market, when you are in the middle of challenges it cuts out and makes you start over, This game was just all around made as a cash grab, there's no way to enjoy playing the game without spending $300 a month on it. the creators didn't actually care about letting people have fun..Version: 1.34.4

Used to be a great game, but...I used to enjoy playing this game, it was still an enjoyable game and you could still progress when you weren’t able to log in every 5min... Then, they have added more and more rubbish to distract from the main purpose of the game, and require more and more log ins. In all of this, they haven’t driven a higher need to make purchases (which is a saving grace) which makes me wonder what the point of the upgrades really is... why? A recent upgrade to allow shield breakers into war games is actually disadvantaging one team. We are a team who haven’t come up with the right level of points / whatever’s to earn the shield breakers but frequently come up with other teams who are able to use 10+ breakers on each city in the war and rack up seriously one sided scores. I get part way through making the repair item and it’s healed with the shield breaker and I have to start making a new item... And now there’s some pointless rubbish about a monster is this latest update. I’m close to logging off permanently..Version: 1.30.6

Consistently perfect, until recently...I downloaded the game 2 days after it launched on iOS, not knowing what to expect. To my surprise it instantly became my favorite mobile game app. I've never agreed with the idea of in-app-purchases but Sim City Build It is the only game that I've actually spent money on. The fun factor, and replay value are simply unmatched. This game has been near flawless in my opinion. That is, until recently. I was excited when new city areas were introduced because it allowed me to experience the fun of designing a new layout from scratch. And the addition of seasonal and holiday events seemed promising. But then the game began crashing. CONSTANTLY. It's like the game can't handle all of the stuff that's happening on screen. If I switch to a different area map the game freezes then completely crashes. If I open the game and swipe on the screen before all of the intrusive game notifications pop up, the game freezes then completely crashes. If I try to interact with the game in any way before the intrusive on-screen notifications pop up, the game freezes then completely crashes! I thought it might have something to do with the version of iOS running on my phone but my software is up to date. I update the app as soon as an update is available on iOS. The problem continued even after I upgraded to an iPhone 11 pro max! I still love the game but these constant crashes are wearing on my patience..Version: 1.30.6

Is this a weird glitch or?I am a big fan of sim city, it is one of my favourite games of all time. But while I was upgrading some of my buildings, it suddenly said that I had no police or sewage and water shortage etc. All the buildings that had these problems clearly had coverage by everything and it did not make sense and soon, all of my building were abandoned due to “no police”. This is a weird glitch and has ruined my whole city as everybody had abandoned they’re houses and I don’t even know why since everything was in check. Please fix this. It’s very annoying..Version: 1.28.2

Why other games are betterI used to have this game, but it is horrible. 1.) You get overwhelmed very fast as you have to organize. Because you can’t zone things you have to place down houses that are a certain amount of space so you have to juggle your service that are small with homes that are quite a bit lagger. 2.) With other games it takes a small amount of time for buildings to be built but with this game it takes hours and it takes time to create the things, so it takes half a day to make a new building. 3.) Expensive every thing in this game is so expensive from buildings to other things you can tell this is an EA game. As the the EA motto goes “Buy or don’t advanced”..Version: 1.39.2

MoneyApparently when you don’t need somethings it their but as soon as you need it it gone, and that fact you need a code to get friend and not just have people form the game is stupid and the fact you can’t go back to someone else global store to get something you know is their but you can’t because it a one time offer . Just get city sky lines much better and their a sandbox mode.Version: 1.48.0

Current version crashes on iOS 12.4.3I’ve been playing and enjoying this game for six years almost, but the latest update consistently crashes on launch on my iPad. Please fix. I’m on a first gen iPad Air, running the latest iOS version available for it, 12.4.3. Thanks..Version: 1.30.2

Be kind on loyal playersI have been playing this game ever since it came out and that’s how much I like it. It’s sad that the upgrades cost so much and the return you get from city is so less. It’s harsh and brutal as to how the game doesn’t discriminate among loyal players and those who play for a while and move on. May be you must learn to reward those who spend 100s or hours playing this game and loyal continue to come back to it over and over.Version: 1.26.8

Club wars, no thanksPlayed this game one and off for over a year now. It’s always been something to hop into when I have a few spare minutes which has been fine up until today. Last night club wars was introduced and what a laborious task this seems to be. As it’s early days things may change for the better. Hey I may even have miss understood the club war thing all together and my review may be a totally wrong but I’m giving my opinion anyway. So you have to complete war deliveries, much like shipments and the cargo deliveries which in itself isn’t too bad. These war shipments items are collected so you can launch your attack. However this means more stuff to fill your inventory which isn’t so great because as someone who doesn’t play for more than a few minutes here and there I don’t often find the parts to increase storage capacity. Trying to buy them in the market for hasn’t panned out too well. Not only that but you gotta have around 30+ free slots in the inventory just to hold the items for an upgrade 🤔. So then my next issue is unless you want to use the same style of attack each time you need keys. Again as a very casual player I don’t often get these due the fact I nearly always miss shipment deadlines. Therefore I have next to no mountain items nor beach and these have been available for ages. For a casual player this war feature is rubbish in my opinion..Version: 1.19.2

Great game but some needed improvementsI really enjoy SimCity with what it feels like to be a mayor and all of the necessities you need to keep it going however a problem with it is that expanding your city to make more houses, industrial stuff etc takes a lot of time and the only way to get the things you need is either trading, tapping on sim bubbles and some other things which also take days to get. I don’t know if it’s just me but I think that the prices in the shop are quite high, like it costs 4.99 pounds, dollars or what currency, to get 250 sim cash and if you think about it it’s not much because it will burn quickly if you spend the higher money valued stuff to upgrade the space you have in your city or other expenses that are big. Think about it. But otherwise good game, really fun just a few improvements will make it 5 star..Version: 1.38.0

Missing the spirit of originalStarted playing SIM city on a Mac Classic II when the wee screens were grey scale. It is the game that got me hooked on gaming. Actually taught me quite a bit about city’s, taxation, municipal bonds etc. Versions got a bit better as the years went by. When it came out on iPad I thought it was going to be amazing. Some of you may like the pay to play experience amd that is awesome. For me all I can see is monetization first for the publisher then gamer experience comes after...if at all. This game is a money burning grind that for my experience, murdered the original. It’s a travesty that present day generations can’t enjoy and learn from the original developers vision. Can only be played with a continuous wifi or cell connection. Deserves zero stars. However, If you are the type that likes pay to play and don’t know the original, give it a spin, you might like it. For those gamers like me, perhaps launch a non pay to play like the original versions and charge us. I would happily pay $5 to $20 to download it and have my own pet city.Version: 1.34.4

I can’t open app and my group is fighting a war right now! This is really bad… I need to get into my city because we are fighting a war right now that I asked for. If I can’t get it, my group will be so disappointed. And I love this game I’ve spent too many hours playing for it to suddenly become impossible to open!.Version: 1.42.5

Fun game but gets boring. This is a good game, the graphics gameplay and strategy are exciting and different. But after you build your city up, one day you will hit a wall. The game ceases to be fun and becomes tedious and small. I’ve hit the wall, and now barely play the game anymore. The challenges become overwhelming at times only because you are so restricted with supply depot size and city size, both because it becomes almost impossible to find the special items you require to grow either. Eventually, the global trade center will become useless. It will always be full of the same 4-5 high level items that nobody can use in their own city and so become flooded into the market. You are forced to build these same items for some challenge and then find out they are completely useless to you as well. You can’t use them to build any other items, you can’t use them for building homes, and you will have a hard time selling them because it’s the same items everybody sells. They just become a waste of supply space. As you raise your city level, the game really makes it harder and harder to succeed without paying real money for special items or sim cash. I used to really enjoy playing this game but have become bored with sitting endlessly in the global market hoping for an expansion item to pop up so I can finally expand my land or supply. I’d say give it a shot, but keep your city small. The bigger you get, the less enjoyable it becomes..Version: 1.37.0

Good game … but …When I first got this game I wanted to play nonstop!!!🙂 It was super fun, I got to build roads, building, houses 🏡. I loved it. But after a wile when I used up all my money 💴 and the sad 😢 part about it is you half to pay 💰 for more money! So after I had to pay for the SimCity cash and I was so sad 😭!!!! But there are a lot of options to pay for the money. I only bought a couple of dollars 💵 so I can make a little more houses and buildings. And the weird thing I’ve noticed is that they speak another language!!!!! I don’t think it’s a real language though but it is super weird!! And they look 👀 funny 😆 too!! In conclusion, this is a good app but as you have read there are some frustrating things! Thank you ☺️ for reading 📖 this review! Oh!! A couple of more things. I have had this game since I was 8 and I am 10 now!!! Also the money 💴!! I payed 10 dollars a day for 30 days. That is the maximum days. But the weird thing is that you can buy $250 for 4.00 and for the 10 dollars a day thing you get more than the 4.00 thing and the 10 dollar thing is only .99 !!!!! 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪weird!!! Well that I think 💭 this is the last thing I can talk to you guys. Thank you ☺️ for reading 📖 my review!!! This game is pretty fun!! Buy 🤗!!!!.Version: 1.33.1

Glitch in game has made it unfun to playThe global trade market is no longer working, I opened my game one day and it said “sorry mayor this aspect is not available to you at the moment” when I’ve had access to that now for a long time. Not having the global trade market I’m back to waiting days on end to build up enough resources to upgrade houses or do shipments- making the game impossible at my level to play. Please fix this or you’ll be losing a lot of players.Version: 1.48.0

Great game variety of tasks. Game suggestions. Better representation needed though.Like the variety of tasks from Contest of Mayors to Wars. Just in Com don’t make task queues on longer production items too many bulk items, eg. Things like drills and fire pits, make just a few needed. Also allow us to search and message any club member, other than in our own club, similar to how we can search for a club, by name and #tag or member ID, and be able to invite them to our club. City Design Challenges, after items borrowed are returned to us, have building etc from our cities and regions returned to location we had them in rather than inventory, and so be able to just relocate items to our design challenge city and back again more easily. Time consuming to then return items to where we had before, tears up our cities too much. Better representation Re Events track: Ramadan event buildings there but not Christian Easter - no churches, stations of the cross, hot cross buns or similar. Why was Christian Easter ignored? Same with Christmas. Bunnies and candy canes only? True diversity and inclusion should include Christian icons and those from the other major faiths, not just one. Disappointing. Please try to include these others too..Version: 1.41.2

Microtransaction heap of garbage.Enjoy being stuck for hours for materials to be made? Like having 30 seconds of playtime a day? Are you willing to pull out a second mortgage to fund this game nickel bu nickel? Then look no further! This “game” has you covered. You’ll be bottlenecked EVERY step of the way. After about 10 minutes of smooth gameplay, get ready to pull out your credit card to buy in game currency and to reduce cooldown timers on materials so that you can continue building the city. Worst Pierce of junk app in the App Store. Cannot believe this thing has an editors award. For what? Worst user experience? Get this thing off the App Store..Version: 1.39.7

FrustratingIt’s a fun game, a good time waster but it’s annoying and grindy to play for the long term. Everything is expensive and takes forever, the game tries so hard to make you spend money it’s pathetic. You can actually see the game try to slow you down if you progress too fast, usually by selling more “junk” and less of the items you need. Space is always an issue, and I kept getting frustrated trying to fit all those buildings in such a small area because I can’t afford any of the land expansions. Not to mention this games push notifications are exclusively for in game offers (in app purchases) and never actually tells you when your que is done. Not to mention if your not careful if you build one building in the wrong spot it can put you $45k in dept due to building a new hospital, police, fire, waste, power, and water buildings that get more and more expensive and less and less effective as the game goes on. Constantly asking you to watch ads or buy something, it’s actually pathetic. I remember when this game was good and me and my dad would play it together. Now I have to remind myself reasons to not uninstall. Only play it if you have a lot of time to kill, and have no problem with games like clash of clans.Version: 1.41.5

Offers something differentIt’s fun and addictive to try and build a nice looking city in this game and with some patience all the content is accessible in time. Season contests get you exclusive buildings and other rewards. The Mayor Club has rewards everyone can work together obtaining. Mobile gets pretty hot when playing and battery drains fairly quickly. The new Club War feature is pretty lame though and doesn’t fit with the rest of the game. It is called BuiltIt not DestroyIt after all. After about a year of playing this game I might stop because Club Wars is such a bad feature.... and means the game doesn’t offer something different anymore as what mobile game today doesn’t have PvP feature? They even tied the Club wars into the contest of mayors, gah fire your lead game developer because this new feature is such a misfire and you have forced it on your players. Hopefully they implement underground buildings or another better cooperative feature because as it is I want to turn Club Wars off!.Version: 1.19.2

Disgrace to the simcity franchiseThis game is a disgrace to the franchise with it's horrible pay to win gameplay and it's boring mechanics..Version: 1.52.6

This game sucks but want to know a better game?TheoTown is like this game but without the money spending and time waiting.Version: 1.46.1

GeneralThe game is good at the start but after a while you have to stop playing. The global trade hq is obviously rigged it’s not funny. It gives you nothing you need and if somehow it does, it seems to take so much longer to change screens so when you do see it, it’s sold!!! The value of things like a fire station etc seem to far out-way any return you get from any taxes etc so you’re constantly chasing money. The expansion tools basically never appear making it very difficult to make your city any larger than the opening screen. Let’s say you have free money to help get the next expansion over the line, the opportunities to get that money are pathetically small compared to the vast cost of what you have to pay. It’s supposed to be fun. I’m never going to pay money to expand my city or get extra packs. Change the value of the products within the game to make it more fun and addictive to expand and create decent cities. Introduce a starter bonus of say $300k to help. I’ve restarted 7 times so far and every time you reach a natural point to stop and wait for the game to allow you to go further and I just get fed up so I start again. At some point I will delete and never play again. It has the capabilities to be a user friendly game and it’s designed to make you play a certain way and pour money into it. Not interested!!!.Version: 1.46.1

This game makes me wanna bash my head on a wall but it’s funLet’s start with the positive, It’s low key pretty fun. It allows me to finally pollute the world with my wildest city dreams and populate a tiny area with as many people as I want. Now for the negative, why does it take 30 minutes to make 1 plank of wood I will never know. On that note it also takes 10 minutes or something to make a screw(like hello?). And when someone asks for 6 screws to upgrade their little trailer park, I don’t want to wait an hour just to get the material. That doesn’t sound that bad till you have 8 different houses asking for materials! Like I don’t want to spend my whole day crouched over my iPad like a little mouth breather waiting for a stupid screw icon to appear over the hardware store. Like I have some dignity. I would also recommend to lock your credit card in a vault if you plan to buy this for your child. They will make you go broke on this screws😒. On top of all this, the game doesn’t give you very many options, it take forever just to unlock the school system(like that’s so inaccurate) Moral of the story, you should get this if you want to develop chronic depression and lose touch with all your family and friends..Version: 1.52.2

A Rare ThingClub Wars is a disaster. The ability to play offline then synchronise adds greatly to the appeal of SCBI for a traveller. You can take long holidays from it and do no harm, or play intensely and make rapid progress. Some of the innovations don't make much sense: the Doctor Vu Tower is bizarre, but you can ignore it; ditto Omega buildings that don't quite work; the random comments from Sims are repetitive; some of the advice is asynchronous (it's still telling me to build an airport I built two years ago). The only serious flaw is that acquiring new ground becomes progressively more difficult and frustrating or more expensive, but I've never spent money on this game and don't intend to start. Why can't I spend some of my 6,000,000 Simoleons to just buy some more land, for example? It's biggest asset used to be that it is mildly challenging and completely harmless, a rare thing in a rather dark gaming world, but the introduction of Club Wars is ghastly and makes some aspects of the game unplayable. Not recommended and more..Version: 1.19.51

Can’t replace saved gameRediscovered this game, and am enjoying it, I went to back it up to Facebook, but a game from years ago is saved. I’m now further through the game than I was then, but I can’t replace the backed up game with this one. So I’d either have to lose progress or risk losing the game.Version: 1.32.2

Why am I still playing?I’ve been a fan of all the “Sim” games for a while and was stoked to find a smart phone version. The game starts off slow and as you race to build your city hoping for more excitement, you’ll find its always just mildly entertaining. My biggest complaint is the cost of some of the content they try and sell you, sometimes a single building can run about $20. If you bought most of the special buildings they offer, you would spend hundreds every year which I think is absolutely outrageous for a free game with little to offer. You might as well spend $50 and buy the computer version, you’ll be much happier and you won’t be constantly pestered to watch ads or buy extremely overpriced content. My second complaint is the new war system. I thought they finally added something of value to this game, but I was very wrong. The club wars are long, tedious and boring, most clubs I’ve faced choose to hide behind shields for most of the 24hr attack phase coming out right at the end to try and just one up your score. During most club wars, I find myself staring at the war lobby for hours on end waiting to attack someone. I’m not sure why they give you 24hrs to attack when most of the excitement takes up maybe an hour. If you’re considering downloading this game in hopes to satisfy some old school sim city action, look elsewhere..Version: 1.26.8

Mayor rewardsI am so disappointed For those who play the game know the mayor challenges, I came 2nd in the challenge right and my reward was 8 golden keys speed tokens and cash, I worked so hard to get 2nd place. I waited for the challenge to end then I click on the tower as you do to collect your prize and I never received it, in the game that is a lot of effort to even get 1 golden key but to miss out on 8 it’s really upsetting. So after that I emailed ea and they replied saying they are looking into it yet 3 days later a new challenge has started and I’m lacking responses from them and all I get is “we have our people looking into it” Coming from someone who has played this game for many years and who has spent money on the game and has never cheated (which so many people do and you can tell who does) I’m so disappointed this issue hasn’t been fixed I’ve never once had a problem until this new update where they got rid of seasons and put some new mayor thing which you again need to pay money for (not fair at all) I have loved this game so much up until now I have been let down and not taken care of as a customer to there product I’m more then disappointed and want this fixed immediately..Version: 1.28.2

Why.... PLEASE NOTICE THIS WILL HELP YOU DEVSSim city use to be good but over the years it’s got worse and you can’t restore you old city or something you bought before deleting the game. The things you can buy has a stupid price usually and the fact you can’t get back you old city of restore some thing you bought because when you delete the app like say by accident and you download it back the game resets and doesn’t let you Get back what you use to have like stuff you have bought and your city. I honestly think the games not good for a lot of reasons but there’s to much to explain or tell. This really is not good and triggering. I hate the game now please fox and I might rate five and come back... maybe....Version: 1.34.1

Meh...Enjoy the game, but pretty slow moving once your established unless you want to spend real money .. only check in once a day now to collect coins..Version: 1.28.2

Great Game . . . . BUT!I have really enjoyed playing this game, but! I started to notice some of the items I PURCHASED or PRODUCED were not showing up in my inventory. Even AREA EXPANSION items, or INVENTORY INCREASE items, items that increased your inventory by 5. That’s a lot of coins spent, and goods not delivered. I’ve voiced my concerns many times, but the straw that broke the camels back was the response that they were going to give me 6 seeds, 1 textile and 1 fruit & berry, and that was all they could do for me. which is not even close to what items I was shortlisted. The worst is when I was playing “timed events”, you have to rescrounge for items again. I admit this is an issue that is hard to resolve, there is no way for IT to go back into gameplay to see what is the root of the problem. In the end, I’m just giving up playing this game. Don’t need the added stress or handicap of the issue. The only thing they said pertaining to the problem was to play online, use only one device with a strong internet connection. Now if they were trying to troubleshoot the concern, you would think they would have asked me for circumstances of the problem. They’ve only said they’ll look into it, and get back to me. Not asking if I’m only using one device, or if I’m playing online..Version: 1.38.0

Progress is incredibly difficultDownloaded this game again as I had played it a few years ago and enjoyed it but it has become increasingly apparent that you HAVE to buy Simoleons to get anywhere in the game. I made a point to not spend a cent of my own money to see how far I could get and the game just keeps getting harder and harder to buy even the most simple of stores or government buildings when relying solely on the coins generated in game from building upgrades and taxes. It’s impossible to get any kind of coin built up when there are so many things you need to spend money on at once and all at such insane $$ values. Like $22,000 to upgrade a road, like come on guys, this is ridiculous. Sort it out..Version: 1.29.3

Game is fun overall BUTThis game was nice til I seen they started to put political crap into the game..Version: 1.48.2

Quality of life needs work.First of all I would like to address the speed of progression. A lot of people feel it is pay to play. I want to establish here and now that video games can be hard. Just because they take extra time does not make them unfair, it just tests a different aspect of your personality. If you don't like this game it is simply not for you. However! There are some massive flaws not in the style but in something called "fair end ethical gameplay". Pushing players to achieve goals outside of their reach can be a good way to engage players into a long term commitment however you are clearly punishing players that decide to go their own way. Whether a game is free or paid it needs to have 1 clear aspect to make it ethical and fair. The player gets to choose how they play the game. These new tasks that permanize buildings have got to go or they need to be moved to a less constricting building. The speed up building at level 24 I have issues with on a more personal level. I don't like the building and would prefer it not to exist. My OCD has trouble with its existance..Version: 1.30.6

Mr AgreedWhat "your annoying neighbour" said yep, took the words right out my mouth. Been playing this since the early days, if anything I'm surprised I gave the game a chance since app games really were a bore.. that being said this game started to become quite addictive >> fast forward I'm not playing as regularly.. but I'm lvl 40 too yet there's this vibe I'm getting "enter your card details" "spend real money to get those cool looking extra things" since being so limited to customisation.. like limited, wanting to actually be creative I understand you have to put in work in.. but well what "your annoying neighbour" said, 100% how I feel.Version: 1.20.3

Fun, then dumbStarted off good, gear build… then after about 2 weeks of playing, everything is too expensive or takes too long to produce things, or there’s too much going on… too complex. Make the game user friendly and easy to enjoy. It’s dumb now. Don’t waste your time on this game..Version: 1.38.0

Good game, updates hurt itDon’t get me wrong this is a great game, which I’ve been playing for a while now. But recent updates in the new year aimed at encouraging people to spend sim cash have really hurt the playability. This affects ALL facets of the online game from the mayors competition to city wars, to simpler things like resource production. The removal of your “ad allowance” which allows you to speed up production a couple of times a day in exchange for watching ads has been removed, and the new mayors competition challenges focus more on driving you to spend some cash or lose out, and you can see it’s having an impact on player participation. Ironically it’s a false economy because if EA made the purchase currency more efficient as in other games like Pokemon go then they’d have way more people spending, but they seem determined to mine maximum cash flow in exchange for the smallest of sim cash rewards..Version: 1.30.6

BECAREFUL - Resist the urge & hide your moneyRigged and loaded - a game fit for a gambling crackhead! The producers of this game, have one thing in their master plan for you in this game, “to break you” to the point of utter boredom and frustration that just to get any joy from this game is to hand them access to ALL your financial accounts and see how much they can milk you for!! Been playing this game for around 8 months and my city looks more like a village than a city because I’ve resisted all urges to EVER hand those manipulators my money and it seems day by day any sign of progression gets more impossible as the levers are tightened even more, in order to push you into submission to these con artists! I lost sight and interest in a “classic game” that once was, when all this is, is a rigged game of ice-cream bars and sugar canes, and to see anything else you better be ready to show your street corner dealer that hard cold cash! And those super-sonic trigger fingers that ALWAYS seem to get to items on the marketplace you need just at the most convenient moment, be ready to experience many “nice try but no cigar” moments! EA you’re a disgrace and you should be ashamed that the platform for this game is fixed on manipulating the gamer out of their money rather then the game, it’s experience and enjoyment!.Version: 1.20.53

Overrated game…This game is 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙. I can’t stop the fact that if you delete, you lose your progress not like other city games. Also it’s too original from 2015. Graphics has changed slight bit and nevertheless get a makeover. I know I can 𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚 this game. And it’s also boring looking at your city and not even to anything or a thing you just need to do. City games I recommend is 𝚃𝚑𝚎𝚘𝚝𝚘𝚠𝚗, 𝙼𝚢 𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢 and 𝚌𝚒𝚝𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚊. EA PLEASE MAKE IT MORE BETTE.Version: 1.42.5

UghI am getting EXTREMELY tired of the mechanic where an item is in great abundance on the market but takes HOURS to find the second you have a construction that requires it. There is no freaking way it is a coincidence. I know you think it’s smart to make it more difficult to find so your brain releases endorphins when you find it or whatever but TONE IT DOWN!!! The annoyance I suffer far out weighs any relief when I find the item. And when you do and press on it someone has already bought it. I’ve been looking for canned fish for over an HOUR. It wasn’t that hard to find right before I needed it. It’s not like it’s rare at all!!! I’m legitimately considering deleting the game just because it’s become such a time consuming process to upgrade this one building that requires it. Furthermore, they just recently added mandatory advertisements that pop up when you try to make something in your factory and you can’t exit out of them. It’s never beneficial, even it auto completes whatever you’re creating, more times than not you get a mandatory advertisement when you’re creating metal which only takes 60 seconds to complete and the ad is half that long. Or you’ll be trying to plan our resources for the future and suddenly get some items you have no need of until you’re other products are completed in a few hours and it fills up your storage space for a few hours. It’s only inconvenient..Version: 1.30.6

Don’t botherAt first it seem decent however it became over complicated with the levels to upgrade. The developers want you to buy coins so you can upgrade faster. There is too many forms of currency; golden keys, platinum keys and regional currency on top of the regular coins and hard to get cash. Everything takes way too long to upgrade or expand. Very easy to lose interest. All the nice buildings or parks are out of reach for the average person. Don’t recommend this..Version: 1.50.2

I do love the game but I have some bad featuresMost of it is because whenever I do play it I get simbucks I would recommend this game to anyone in my family. Because we all love stuff like this. The bad features are how if u wanted to play on computer or anything like that it lags or just instantly takes u off the app. If this does happen just delete the app. Most of people waist their Simbucks on the first day. So I would save up for stuff because in my case I spent all the simbucks and had to wait months or days just waiting to get bucks. If u do spend all of your bucks this game is useless if u keep them and save until u have about 100. You have a better city and better game in minutes. If u do have problems (like some people) delete the app and get it again it always works. Next time I play this game I would get ur credit card and quick. Bye.Version: 1.31.1

Worst... Update... Ever.Since the last update, every transaction either takes forever, or causes the server to time out. Now I’m getting frequent app crashes and iPad restarts. The game itself hasn’t been improved, it’s just been more intensely scam-a-fied. Yet ANOTHER currency has been added to the game, as if the seven micro transaction currencies we already had weren’t bad enough. At least this time, EA are ruining the game for themselves as well as the player..Version: 1.21.2

Enjoy the game...Been playing now for a year and a half. I enjoy the game every day and look forward to growing my city. However, I would like to see some improvements: please change the statements for my citizens' opinion bubbles(seeing the same ones all the time is boring); I wish there was a comprehensive way to see a breakdown of all my cities' buildings by type, population, latest update date, etc; and although I enjoy the Mayoral Contests, I find it very difficult to finish in the top ten even though I only complete the assignments that have the highest point value. I understand that spending real money to finish higher in the standings is probably necessary(and even rewarded with higher point total assignments) however some mayors' point totals above me seem impossible for me to obtain without some kind of hacking of the game and that possibility makes me question even participating in future Mayoral Contests. Why spend real $$ trying to beat a cheater!!!" So now it is December 2019 and I am having problems after upgrading Mayors Pass Season 3. I cannot get into the game because I’m kicked out before my city appears. I have asked for an explanation and am told that “the team” is working on a solution. 3 days later I’m still waiting. Boiler plate responses and apologies just don’t do the trick. I have completed all updates of iOS, force-quit the app and reinstall the app but still nothing..Version: 1.30.2

Used to love this gameI never leave reviews, but i really used to enjoy playing this game. but now, once you reach the level where sugar and spices are available the game becomes almost unplayable because that’s all anyone really crafts and sells. i feel like it needs major fixing. it’s a completely broken system and is just not enjoyable, it turns the game from fun into a frustrating slog..Version: 1.38.0

Enjoyable until it asks for things you can’t getI downloaded this game because it seemed very similar to the DOS version of SimCity I used to play many years ago. The first part of the game was very exiting and I really enjoyed building homes and roads and factories. And getting my city to grow. I was on the phone at any moment I could. The more I did the more requirements kept me pumped up. But it gets to a point when I started to get into Mayor contests and it starts asking for wars between cities. That makes this too complicated for what I am willing to play. Also the building upgrades requests items that I cannot produce or buy like a sweater or bread. Then the upgrades requests things that take 5 or more hours to make turning it hardly impossible to complete the task without being stuck to the phone practically all day. I think a game like this should allow the user to play at leisure. I don’t have time to dedicate only to a game. I would love a game that stays simple and keeps me engaged. Microsoft had a game called Age of empires that kept me going up to the end because tasks where hard but possible. The same i would say for the first version of Starcraft. For that reason I am deleting the app from my phone. I gave it 3 stars because the game is well designed. And it gave me pleasure before it gave me frustrations..Version: 1.25.2

Cash problemGame needs a confirm button when using cash to buy things that are missing. I was harvesting my factories when I accidentally tapped the mountain extension behind where my factory was and it took 40 cash :( devastated. Otherwise fun game..Version: 1.39.2

Increase Trade Depot sales slotsEver since you took away the ability to list more than one war item for sale in the trade depot, our storage has been littered with garbage like ducks and plungers. Currently I have 47 plungers with no ability to sell them to club members (no one wants that garbage) and I have to wait for Daniel to collect them every few days. The least you could do is increase the number of sales slots from 32 to at least 50 and at the same time, increase storage. Also, bring back the ability to list 5 war items at a time and not just 1. If your aim was to stop cheaters and hackers, you have once again FAILED MISERABLY as they still plague the game. You have only managed to punish legitimate and dedicated players..Version: 1.49.4

EA why...Overall I recon this game is great however if your not really into cheesy things I would not recommend it. This game was great back in 2013 when I started playing it, time passed by and updates were normal. However as Time progressed the updates got cheesier and cheesier and these updates made new players like me who don’t regularly play the game feel weighed down as we just started playing and barely have the requirements to unlock the countless items mostly introduced to players a much higher level. Now (2018) the updates just keep on going, but (in my head) “hey I’m lvl 40 I should have unlocked most of the content” (which I did eventually) there comes a new feature about a clan city battle thing with lasers and orbital canons and man made earth quakes... that’s when I stopped playing... In conclusion... If this is the game your looking for, get it. If it isn’t, well why are you even reading this and why are you in the game page...? Oh and one more thing. It also feels like you need to use money too actually level up at a constant rate. Lol what am I saying it’s not like you would put any micro transactions in your games... oh... oh wait.. . I mean... at least you guys didn’t add loot boxes. If you did then that would be just stupid... Please don’t... don’t.... pls. pls notice me....Version: 1.20.3

Used to Love ItSo I had this game a few years ago. It was fairly easy to get items and build basically whatever you wanted. Everything used to be reasonably priced so you could earn and save simoleons and get basic items fairly quickly. Even if you spent real money, it went far. And maybe I am crazy, but I also thought there was a way to just build unlimited? I remember being able to do a whole futuristic city and having the freedom to do whatever. But maybe there wasn’t a free mode and it used to be that simple and easy to play? Anyway I redownloaded the game because I am going through a phase again where I want to build cities. And wow… Even for basic items it’s crazy expensive. Basic landscape items or buildings sometimes cost 6,000+ simoleons or 200+ simbucks. BASIC. I’m not talking special buildings or anything. Even some roads are ridiculously expensive. You basically have to play for hours every day to grind currency or items OR pay $100 for enough currency to actually do anything. It’s become another cash grab just like most mobile games. I’m better off saving up for a computer again to play on the PC..Version: 1.52.6

Cheating is rampant in this gameCheating in COM happens every week, and EA refuses to do anything about it. I’ve sent in complaints reporting cheats, and all I’ve gotten are boilerplate responses that provide solutions to the cheating issue. They don’t ban players, or if they do, it takes a long, long time. But by then, the damage is done. I’ve been naive enough to pay real money for simcash, only to lose to cheaters. How are they cheaters? They get scores that are only possible through hacking the game. So if you feel like playing a game where you’re bombarded by ads to buy simcash and have no chance of winning because of cheats, then feel free to download this game..Version: 1.27.6

Why Are Most Features Unavailable? Most features within this game are unavailable and there is never any explanation for it. I have played this game on various other devices and yet, this time I download it on my personal I pad, most things are unavailable! I am always given a message saying “this feature is currently not available” on both the airport and trade centre. Knowing from past play throughs, I have all that is needed for both features and can’t understand why! I am not sure if this was an update that changed this, but I think not because there is no trace of this issue anywhere! An explanation to this would be great and much appreciated and hopefully I am not the only one with this troublesome issue..Version: 1.23.2

PotentialThe game is still based on the classic game style where by you build and plan out a city development and have to balance keeping the people happy with adequate facilities etc. you have to ensure there’s enough police, fire stations, hospitals etc etc. all of that is still there and it’s great fun. What is a little disappointing is that to develop buildings and have upgrades you have to create a set amount of products such as watermelons, doughnuts, chairs etc. to build these you also need to initially develop parts to create them. This starts off quite fun and requires planning etc. however you can only store a certain amount of these items at a time. I’m reluctant to pay for in game cash that would allow me to expand my storage capabilities. This has ultimately stopped me from playing the game as once you reach a maximum you simply can’t pick up the new items and progress stops. This is super frustrating and sadly yes it’s built this way to make you pay for upgrades. In game payments should be a choice and not a requirement which is currently how it feels. I’ve left the game because of this..Version: 1.51.1

Master of money grabbing gamesTo start with good, game has actually good a god interesting mechanic, and it is very addictive, but sadly it plays on your addiction and it’s design for sole purpose to take as much cash from you it can ... you might say well you don’t have to spend any cash ... true if you don’t ever want to get anywhere, nor get any important buildings, those are impossible to get without cash, to explain tower that creates you speed up token , might ask you 6 times to produce 5 garden chairs, one takes over 2 hours to make ... and somehow now one sells it on the market when you need it... it is a simple math ... not possible to finish ... it seems that game system check on your inventory and your quests, and thus filters the market, things you don’t need will be plenty and those your quests require will become rare ... it is a way to frustrate you into spending a cash, after a while you realise you are not playing a game but click fest hunting for an hour an item you need that suddenly no one sells.. if this was not true developers would have placed filter for you too to search a per item ... and we know there is a filter in market because you never see items higher level them yours ....Version: 1.23.2

Designed to siphon money, not entertainAs everyone else seems to have noticed, Simcity has grown from a smart, entertaining and - most importantly - rewarding experience into this shallow, almost insulting slot machine. It’s like the game designers forgot who they’re selling for. People who play city simulators are not muppets. Goodbye and good riddance..Version: 1.39.2

Beware of War CheatersI’m yet to come across another game that looks great but the only issues are if you want to progress faster or want certain items you’ll find the price is way to high for normal play and you’ll have to pay. I don’t mind wars but the prizes aren’t worth it, If it was something similar to the contest of mayors seasons with buildings to win then maybe it’ll be worth it. Also make war items separate to storage I have around 40 items taking up valuable room and often have to sell, just do it like the omega storage keep it separate BUT the big one is teams that sit under shields for over a day there needs to be an automatic forfeit or force teams out after a few hours my team has been up against too many cheats. The new land options are affecting my main city, why should deliveries and contests need these items when the city isn’t even on the same map. There are so many simple solutions that would make the game more enjoyable.Version: 1.24.4

Sim city RUINED!In app purchases can kill games some more than others. This sadly does quite a lot! Why can’t they be like games like XCOM strategy games where you pay a one off fee to buy the actual game? Here you get a beautifully drawn game that reels you in and in no time your addicted and have to spend hours and hours just to manufacture an item to expand you city. I miss the original sim city from decades ago now it’s just overhype. One thing that tickles me is the idea (it’s never changed with all sim city games) that build a police/fire station that a radius from the station will be safer and the constant trying to rebuild to efficiently place where resources should be. I think the fact you can move while buildings without destroying them says it all - this is all about reeling you in and making pay real cash to make your city. I have spent a good many hours over the weekend and now I am refusing to waste hours and hours now to repeat this process and then to watch adverts for tic toc and games and apps I have no love for. Such a shame this game is gorgeous to play but I’m not paying £100 of pounds of real money just to speed up a time destroying life sucking game. Such a shame, at the age I’m at I’ll stick to play sim city 2000 lol.Version: 1.52.6

Great game; too many crashesI love sims and sim city was one of the first I ever played via a disk on a computer in the early 2000s. As much as I love this game with all the features of war, mayor contests and regions, I hate the frequent crashing. Sometimes I can’t even play as the game crashes as soon as I open it and even when trying multiple times it still won’t stay on. Sometimes in time sensitive challenges my game has crashed causing me to miss out on completing challenges or collecting speed up tokens. Very frustrating and disappointing! Hopefully there’ll be an update to fix this!.Version: 1.39.2

Update not workingWhen going into new version of wars I receive prompt to update, but no option in App Store to do so... info is for new version but no update option is this going to be available soon?.Version: 1.20.53

EditingI wish there was a way to remove all buildings into inventory at once and redesign my city kind of like in clash of clans.Version: 1.48.0

Not simcityYour bottlenecked the whole way thru from your productions. When you level up your city it is instantly thrown into despair as you unlock a new thing you have to manage (ie police, sewage, etc) because up to the point u level ur city doesn’t require (or have access to) it. Once u level u won’t have the money to counteract the unlock unless u pay $$$..Version: 1.27.6

Epic Buildings need to go back to 10I have had this game for a long time on many different accounts and have built a lot of cities. I remember when Omega was first introduced and when the mountain was put in! I also remember when Epic buildings were added to the game. It required 10 epic tokens to make that special building produce bronze tokens. The change you guys made needs to be undone. 40!!!! Really? That’s a bit excessive for a building to produce bronze tokens. That was really crappy of you. PS please for gods sake remove the club wars! This isn’t clash of clans. This game used to be a relaxing game where you can build your own little world and now it’s turn into pay to make your city better than everyone else. One last thing that needs to change is the traffic jams. There will literally be no traffic on the road and people will move out because of traffic jams. Come on that’s dumb, especially because there is a loop hole. Just bulldoze the road and then immediately replace it. The traffic jam complaints disappear and nobody complains and the sims move back in. Other than these issues I have with the game, it’s a great game. The graphics are fantastic and it loads up really fast. Great game it just needs to go back to the simple times. I have never battled that octopus thing and never will!.Version: 1.40.0

Pay to play.It is extremely unfair to the player if you don’t pay constantly for sim cash because it just takes so long to make materials and if you don’t pay for boosts it will take years to finish the game.Version: 1.39.2

High priced itemsWhy to much money wanted for items needed to grow a city, between all the sudden expenses and the need for schools, police and fire it is redundant it is better to ignore it all delete households that complain and make money off shipping when you finally have millions then you can expand but I would waste your time or real money.. oh and I do wish they would stop forcing I want a school, okay developers I really don’t care about that stuff get an online education I say I am not putting in a school for forty grand when I want and entertainment centre at sixty grand, the game doesn’t allow you to earn enough money to keep the bubbles from popping up so my sim complain, since I am The creator of my game I blow up the building and laugh no school for you....ahahhahahhaha we want concerts ahahahhaha.....Version: 1.27.6

Bad changesSo the latest change is to epic buildings, as if it wasn’t already hard enough to complete an epic building it has been made even harder, it’s not even worth bothering with it, not being able to sell omega items is stupid, you end up with a pile of items you can’t use filling the inventory, upgrading omega storage and neo bank is ridiculous, omega canisters should supply omega items only, but no you get 1, 2 or 3 items and a pile of normal items you don’t need, now to wars, they should be fast paced, no cool downs, shorter prep and war times and the rewards at the end should be a lot better and make it easier to get the attacks unlocked, I have been playing wars constantly since it started and still only have half of the attacks opened, while there are aspects of this game I like, the changes that are continually made are deliberately done to try and force you to pay.Version: 1.27.6

Predatory App DesignThe bottom line is that this game has been engineered so tightly that the only way to advance or accomplish anything is to spend actual money. Any attempt to intellectually feel out the game’s possibilities will only lead to the discovery of a 30ft invisible pay wall firmly constructed at your city’s borders. This pay wall cannot be penetrated, although it can be slowly and meticulously expanded by grinding it out and collecting meager taxes from you citizens. This wouldn’t actually be that bad if there were more freedoms such as terraforming or choosing your climate (such as existed in previous mobile versions). In this game, you start off and continue to tend your city in the same pre fabricated terrain and climate as all of the other thousands of people who downloaded the game. The direction EA has gone is especially sad for SimCity, because the mobile market is where this game really could have survived into the next decade, but with lackluster PC offerings I have a feeling this franchise is just about dead. It looks like they will try to ride the last little wave by providing a cookie cutter sandbox, soft shapes and bright colors and the thinking, or lack thereof, to go along with it. I’m sure I’ll just be overlooked as the “curmudgeon” that likes those old boring “complicated” games in which you have to do ALL that thinking, but this is just disappointing. This game is a one or two week deleter taking up valuable space on my device..Version: 1.23.2

Clubs wars - lameI’ve spent about 6 months slowly building up my city and now I’m supposed to launch attached on other cities and open myself up to having all my hard work undone. Sorry but that’s an absolutely crap idea, you need to come up with something else! The game is pretty good but a bit laborious and slow at times because you just end up trawling the global market for items that always disappear when you’re actually looking for them - funny that! Elements of this are brilliant but they’re trying to come up with ideas to develop it further and they’re lame ideas. Also what’s the crack with buying stuff and then it not actually being there at all - need to fix that bug quickly. Enjoyed it but starting to get a bit irritated by it..Version: 1.21.2

Algorithm UpdatesSuccess in this game requires heavy use of the Global Trade to find things to buy. SimCity has always used algorithms to determine what is offered to you to buy. For example, if you need specific items to upgrade a building, SimCity will filter these items out of the Global Trade, requiring you to spend even more time trying to find them. Eventually, perhaps after about 30 minutes of searching, the algorithm might allow one or two to appear. On the other hand, if you don't need a particular item, that item is much more likely to appear to buy. If you don't need them and already have several of them in your inventory, they are even more likely to appear. If you have some items, like hamburgers, for example, up for sale yourself, then dozens of them will appear on the Global Trade for you to buy because the algorithm has determined you are unlikely to need them. In this way, the algorithm modifies items on the Global Trade so that high demand always equals low (or nonexistent) supply and low demand always equals high supply. SimCity updates these algorithms in most patches. This latest patch has caused even low demand items to not appear on the Global Trade. I don't know exactly what was done, but now nearly all of the time I am offered about 7 different things. This prevents players from stocking up on items for future demand. Hopefully this gets fixed in the next update..Version: 1.19.2

Not a city simulatorThis game is just a simulator to see how much real cash EA can collect from you. The gameplay is optimized for EA bottom line, not for player enjoyment. There used to be a great SimCity for iPad but it is gone..Version: 1.52.6

DisappointmentFrom a company and brand that created so many great sim games, this is by far their worst. This is just like any other mobile builder game. It is not enthralling like the pc simcity games. There is no thinking with this game it is just tapping and waiting. No point to sit down to play it. Does not hold ones attention and is extremely boring. It is designed as pay to play and flooded with ads. Do not waste your time.Version: 1.31.1

Hard to rearrange the cityShould make an editor mode. So hard to reorganize the city.Version: 1.24.4

2 stars gamefish good but not good enoughWar supplies and global trade HQ needs improved better. Global trade HQ is more annoying because always same item and take ages to find items u need to build.. during war u need stop players cheating and u should keep ur eyes open during in war to catch cheaters and ban them.. we have worked hard to win the last war while some players cheated and I’ve spent money in game and ur not doing anything about it straight away.. is ur responsibility to stop them and u should give me or my clans rewards or something and even in space rock rumbles was our first time promoting in 7th city and someone cheated and we back in 6th this issue can be reported because we felt frauds because lack of ur responsibility to sort it properly and we lost about 3/4 times because of cheaters not fair on people who spend money and get nothing back.Version: 1.46.1

:((It says that most of my respurces ie: water, electricity isnt enough but when I look at the capacity and the demand it is way more enough, it is making me buy unnecessary stuff and wasting my money, it takes way too long to build stuff/create stuff and the prices for trade is not reasonable. The creators need to change this now..Version: 1.20.3

A mixed reviewI’ve played every incarnation of Simcity ever since my Amiga days. I like this one; the gameplay is good, it has social elements which are expected these days, and graphically for a SimCity game on iPad it’s quite ‘pretty’ Here’s the caveat. It’s a money grabber. Yes, it’s possible to progress without buying extras, but your progress will be at a snail’s pace. One MAJOR bugbear is that you cannot keep purchases. There is no way to delete your city without uninstalling the game. If you do so you lose anything you’ve previously purchased. If you’re an inexperienced player it may take several restarts before you figure out what works and if you’ve shelled out for extra simoleons you’ll lose everything if you uninstall to start again. That’s the only reason I give this game such a low rating. If you could keep your purchases I’d give it five stars..Version: 1.27.6

Read your reviews developersYou are trying to create a game that makes you money, and of course, that is how a business stays alive, but when you “over do it”, when trying to make profits, you lose your customers. Your algorithms are so obvious it is causing more and more people to drop your game. For example, when you go to the Trade Headquarters because you need an item, of course it is hard to find, but as so as you as the architect for new plans because you can’t find the items, all of a sudden they pop up like crazy in the Trade Headquarters. I get you are trying to keep people engaged, spend some real cash and keep your business going, but if you gouge, have algorithms that are literally taking the fun away from the game, you will lose more profits in people leaving, then to make the game a little more rewarding. Read your reviews..Version: 1.47.2

Eh...Not that I expect much from a game made my EA, just takes too long to do stuff, prices are still quite high and it’s not fun waiting an hour or so for each building upgrade. At the start it seems fine but just gets worse if you don’t pay money..Version: 1.26.8

It’s okayIt’s okay but it take’s forever to load and the actual game things are way to expensive and you can’t earn that much to keep your sims happy. :(.Version: 1.31.1

Pay to PlaySpend 10 real life years building one city or hundreds of dollars real life money. Or go buy a console or pc and forget about this game. Worst game out there..Version: 1.47.2

Money money moneyThis game is solely designed for profit, without money, there is no game..Version: 1.53.7

MadReally frustrated about involuntary ads. I understand the game needs to make money but these are ads you can’t quit out of and that are happening every couple of minutes. Game is not worth it for that issue, it encourages me to NOT spend money..Version: 1.31.1

Club Wars is your worst idea yet.I’ve been a long time fan of SimCity, and this game used to be awesome. I enjoyed building my city, completing the challenges of the Contest of Mayors and I am even happy to unleash a few disasters with Vu Tower. After all, disasters have always been a feature of SimCity. But Club Wars is not something I want to play, and the fact that it directly inhibits my game by being part of the contest of mayors is not fair to those of us that have no interest in destroying other people’s cities. When I came back to this game after not having played it for a while, I was really disappointed to discover this new feature. Features like club wars should be an optional upgrade, not a requirement. I just want to build my city, complete a few challenges and unleash the occasional alien invasion on my unsuspecting sims..Version: 1.28.2

Somewhat Fun Game But A Broken Game Economy With Greedy DevelopersI’ve had this game downloaded for a very long time now and after revisiting it I realized again how pointless and ridiculously broken the game is. It’s a fun game when you first start playing but as you progress it becomes ever more increasingly difficult to simply play the game. The more you level up the more you have to spend in game currency while needing more and more resources just to make a little money. Your progression slows way down and it becomes obvious that the developers only want you to spend real money on in game currency just to play a monotonous game whose in game economy is pathetic and you must wait hours just to collect resources at a novice game level. The game has plenty of ways to earn “rewards” but these rewards simply consist of irrelevant currencies that never include the main coins used in the game. There are infinite ways to lose coins and only a few ways to slowly make them while also losing far more resources than you are compensated for. This game could easily be a 5 star game if the developers were focused on creating a player friendly in game economy but seeing as they obviously are not, and are so obviously only interested in trying to force ads and in game purchases on players, this game remains an aggravating example of a potentially great game ruined by incredibly greedy and terrible developers..Version: 1.47.2

Bruh 😡It’s basically cites skylines and clash of clans, this game is just one big disappointment. ALSO ITS JUST A PAY TO WIN GAME..Version: 1.38.0

Adding 'City Albums'The creators have taken a great game and made it virtually unplayable. Don't think they did any ux testing before putting albums into the game. Adds no value, but moves the important buttons into a secondary menu. And you can't even tattoo the screen to close the stupid album. You need to choose 'close'. Worst upgrade ever..Version: 1.43.5

Good but not greatI enjoy this game. I’ve been playing it for years, and it has slowly improved over time. There’s lots of things to do within the game to keep you busy, and it’s a very sociable game too with the club wars etc. However… DEVS please, please ditch the new knockouts feature on the club wars, it has spoilt them completely. They impose an ‘energy’ requirement in order to attack, and it takes hours to rebuild your supply… Which means most of the time you simply can’t attack - and you then get knocked out because you don’t fight back - despite the fact you CAN’T. To impose time limits on the wars when you cannot fight back without playing the game for 18hrs a day is plainly ridiculous. We’re being punished for being automatically paired up against a club on the opposite side of the world… Please fix it EA, this sort of issue should have been obvious when you were planning the changes. Either ditch the energy requirement or the knockout - both together simply doesn’t work..Version: 1.38.0

Not fun after a week, plus annoying forced pop-up adsI really miss the days when I had a choice to buy a game on my cell that was truly ad-free; it was worth the $10 to just be able to play the game without interuptions. So many games like this say they are free to play, which they are if you enjoy staring at a screen while you wait a long time for things to finish. The first week the game is fun, but soon the game gets boring while you wait for the raw materials, products and buildings to finish. There is nothing to do while waiting. It is all a big ploy to get you to spend money for speed ups. On top of that, this Sim game forces you to watch whole screen pop up ads that you cannot shut off. I really hate being made to watch ads for pirate or goldfish games. From now on I will read reviews, and when I see a game like this, I will not download it. I have deleted this on my tablet and phone and will just continue to play Clash of Clans which is much more fun. I have been playing Clash for 10 years and I have two accounts: my main acct that I have spent money on (because I like the game and wanted to) and the other supporting acct I spent no money on. Both accts are doing well. Unlike this silly Sim game, in Clash of Clans you have plenty to do while you wait for upgrades and training. I do not recommend this Sim game unless you like to waste you money on speed ups and enjoy watching pop up ads on your whole screen..Version: 1.33.1

Good gameShould add roundabout into traffic control.. instead of upgrading into 4 lane We can just made a roundabout.. cheaper than the traffic light.Version: 1.34.4

HelpI’ve been playing the game for a few weeks now really good game and pass the time and until now I have had no problems. I love this game but I CAN’T PROGRESSSo I would actually give this game a four or five star, but I am SO FRUSTRATED because I can’t make any more progress in the game. Here’s why: 1) Trying to expand land takes waaaaay too long, because the items needed to expand are near impossible to get! At the beginning of the game you get the items a lot, but after your city reaches a certain level, you have like a 1% chance of getting ONE of those items. So I can’t even expand my city any more, which means I can’t build anything more until I can “eventually” get 10-20 of three kinds of impossible-to-get items!! 2) The city storage in this game drives me nuts. I need to stock up on production items, land expansion items, etc. but the items needed to increase storage capacity are ALSO NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE to find or buy from other players. Again, the storage items are readily available at the beginning but once you get to a higher city level, good luck ever finding even ONE of the storage upgrade items. PLEASE make the land expansion and storage upgrade items MORE ACCESSIBLE so that people can actually continue to play the game and progress. Sometimes you can buy these items (with real money), but even then it’s not often and it’s overpriced for what you get and how much of the items you need to progress..Version: 1.45.0

Why did they raise the prices on the simcash?Look I love this game and have spent a fair amount of money on it but for some reason they have raised the prices on the simcash I’m not the most happiest about that so for that very reason I’m not going to spend much more money on this game in fact I’m not unless you guys would happily bring down the prices of simcash. Thank You.Version: 1.24.4

A disappointing gameIt’s just another free game with the same infuriatingly long wait times for anything. It’s not a city builder. It’s a clash of clans like game but with the tacked on visuals of the original sim city. I’m still confused as to why I can’t purchase a paid for original sim city were I can actually zone land and create my town through tax’s and not manually building the houses as if it’s a communist dictatorships. There’s a Tropico pc port on IOS why isn’t there a Sim City port to IOS?.Version: 1.28.2

Its okayIts okay game few things wrong this game, first of all this game overheats my phone which is concerning 2nd of all the waiting is ridiculous when you have the shops to build everything you can only make one item at a time and its a little tedious could you maybe upgrade to at least have 2 things being made at once i dont know thats the only annoying thing but i guess other than its a good game.Version: 1.19.2

Loading time!Loading time is too long to move between cities. Or when we open the market, all the time is wasted for loading. This is very boring. I'm level 22 and I cleared the game..Version: 1.47.2

A game of 2 halvesWhat SimCity gives with one hand (a FOC mobile game with a nice slick look) it takes away with the other (frustratingly slow progress and limited creativity) creating an imbalance that becomes very noticeable at about level 30. Simcity’s biggest let down is how tight fisted the game is. You will never have enough gold coins or green notes. Ever. The game is designed to sap them at every opportunity locking you into a grind spiral that removes all fun from the game. Getting enough money to place a large hospital for instance will feel like a relief, not an achievement. Upgrading a single section of road to have some trees in the middle can take all your savings. See how long it takes u to save 150k then see what u can actually buy with that - 3 service buildings maybe? If you ever play the game long enough to ‘unleash 300 disasters’ (destruction of buildings that need rebuilding) you get…..3 green notes. 3. You can get 8 from randomly visiting other cities looking for gifts for god sake. The largest single in game purchases you can make is £90!! More than a triple A pc game with DLC. So what do you get for £90? All those gold coins you desperately need of course! It’s a shame the money/balance issues haven’t been addressed cos they prevent long term play. You will enjoy this game for about 4-6 weeks then probably put it down..Version: 1.42.5

SimCitySimCity is an alright game, I would easily have given it 5 stars, but there are just too many flaws. The biggest being money. The game tries way too hard to get you to spend money on the game. First, expanding land is nearly impossible the further in the game you get, and can take a solid month just to expand a little bit. Then they try to get you to spend like 20 dollars on expansion equipment that won’t even be enough to expand. It’s ridiculous. Another flaw that just bothers me is how you can’t search for specific items in the shop. They’ll give you challenges where you need a surplus of supplies, nearly all of which you don’t have, and you can’t even find them in the shop. All you can find is the most expensive item from your level that you never need. One last flaw is when you try to upgrade your buildings. It used to be reasonable and still a challenge to upgrade where the first bronze upgrade cost 10 of those stars. They recently changed it to 40, and I have been unable to get it every time and just loose loads of money. To get that you’d need to be on the game 24/7, it’s b.s.. Before I wrote this review I actually had this game at 4 stars, but remembering everything that annoys me actually brought it down. Please fix some of these problems.Version: 1.28.4

Three words to say: Cities Skylines Rip-offIf you have played this game for the first time, I reckon that you probably downloaded this by your friends recommending it or through some other advertisement. When you start playing, you get to see what the game is like for the first part, and it isn’t so bad because you are given a bunch of money. But then you have to wait for hours upon hours upon hours to just get a bit more money. So that is why you get these really bad in app purchases. Another thing is that, I know this is a free game, but there should be no excuses to them not being able to make a better system. In a better and similar game known as cities skylines you start off with a bit of money and start growing your city a bit more and more. But there’s a catch: you can get loans to improve your city. In this game, you have to pay for it. There is a lot more but that just proves how bad the situation can get at times..Version: 1.38.0

DisappointingThe game starts off well and seems well designed and thought out until a point. Once you have started to build up your city and get invested in the process of manufacturing materials to develop your city - it becomes clear that the only way you can develop your ‘ideal’ city is to invest actual money. I got to the point where there was a possibility to build a ski resort. I thought this would be so cool, and was motivated to do so. But it required tons of money to buy new land, and every day the roads needed upgrading, or sewage/waste/water/electricity needs upgrading - and it takes a days worth of dipping in and out to gather the right resources to make the money to fix these things. The game is designed to keep you ‘just about managing’ to keep up with the city demands. Progress is painfully slow, and nudges to purchases things with you own money are relentless. There is also too many things happening. Once you get to a certain level they introduce a new type of currency and this ‘future world’ concept thing that you have to start developing within your city. This was the point where I gave up. It’s also worth noting that the game is highly addictive. I would avoid this completely unless you are someone who doesn’t mind paying money for additional extras - and likes unnecessary complexity. It’s such a shame, as the game starts off really good, and has great potential. But the developers, unsurprisingly, have let greed take over..Version: 1.47.2

Latest update; irritating!I love this game and have been playing it for over a year now, but with the latest update (mid-October 2017) connecting to the global market and mayors challenges is a real struggle - constantly telling me I need to be online to access it, when there is nothing wrong with my internet connection! Also the wars, it should absolutely be optional! I haven't yet been targeted in an attack, nor do I want to! I'm more focused in building my city and collecting special buildings rather than being attacked and having to rebuild my city constantly. So please, in the next update, make it optional! The game also seems to quit a lot for no reason, especially irritating on my iPad! Aside from those (kind of major) flaws, the game is great and very addictive!.Version: 1.19.2

So unstable cannot playCrashes every time you try to do anything other than collect money, so unstable and has gotten worse over time… to bad, used to really like it..Version: 1.42.1

In-app purchases...!!!!!I’ve tried to play a few of these types of games on my iPad and they’re all pretty much the same - you have to spend money to be able to play the game fully. The advert video shows a beautiful city with gleaming buildings but I suggest to reach that stage, you would either need to play the game for months on-end or spend large amounts of money in buying things. A short way in to the game the materials production slows to a crawl and the building elements become horrendously expensive and change as soon as you buy one - when you have to go back and buy another one they’re twice the amount! Yes, the game rewards you in small ways but you need to spend hours finding small items of negligible value. Graphics and presentation are excellent, as I would expect from a Sims game but you’ll need deep pockets to be able to play it properly My advice to the game writers is to stop trying to extract more and more cash from people and make the game more possible for everyone to succeed. Try charging to download the game and then stop the irritating in-app purchases..Version: 1.29.3

Fun but whyyyyy???This game is fun but I don’t understand why the fire, police and health etc places have such small coverage for sims. It’s annoying that my sims complain about there not being a police station for them when there’s one a square away. I just feel like it’s so hard to increase population when you have to spend thousands to make sure every 4x4 square has a health clinic and fire station. My sim was complaining that there was no school, yet I have a grade school not even 2 squares away from them. It’s so hard because you want to compact all the homes together so you have coverage for fire and police but you lose room for other things your sims want. Right now I need more sims in my city but I can’t build any more residential areas because I don’t have the money to buy more police, fire, and health. And then they also take up space for where I want more houses and they’re ugly. I don’t understand why the giant hospital I have can’t just cover every sim in my city. That’s how it works in the real world, there aren’t hospitals on every corner in the real world. It just seems like a very money hungry game they want you to spend real money but like who can do that? I’m trying so hard..Version: 1.48.2

Needs more land expansion, less city warsI began playing this game many years ago, and have played and enjoyed each and every SimCity game since the very first one all those years ago. This game is great... until you have reached the city limits and can’t expand the land further. To counter this, it appears the developers are trying to flood the game with new things to do, for instance the city wars, but they are not what the game was about. In the next update, please please please for the love of god please expand the land so that we can continue playing the game as it was intended. I miss creating items to build and upgrade new buildings..Version: 1.21.2

App crashesBeen playing for months now and was enjoying it although the city tax income is a lot lower than the cost of buildings and upgrades to roads etc when they all come hitting you at once. But since upgrading to ios16 the app will not launch. It simply fails to open..Version: 1.43.1

Good, but expect to wait aroundFun game over all... but when it takes half an hour or more to upgrade each building... and each building upgrade only gives you $1000, its a bit hard to keep the city running when everything you have to buy is $15,000+ and all need to be purchased at the same time. I just wish it was a bit easier to earn money so it wasn’t so obvious they just want you to buy their packs. Good game, just please improve the prices on some things..Version: 1.22.1

Should be called Sim FactoryIt’s a decent version of Sim City but with some irritating flaws. The basic building element is fine but you find yourself spending all of your time on the factories creating materials which are then needed to make products, to make other products that you need for building or upgrading the residential buildings. Very little time is spent on designing or running the city. There is also the irritating road upgrade system. There are constantly reports of “traffic” and you then have to upgrade roads repeatedly to ever more elaborate and expensive ones. I’ve ignored the unnecessary war games and Dr Vu nonsense. But every time you add something new, it just gives you more work to do in the factories. Avoid the extras and it’s just about ok..Version: 1.47.1

Great game at first, stops being fun when everything costs too muchBuildit is really fun for a while but eventually the rate of growth is staggered to the point where it will take literally 30x longer to get something (such as upgrading a residential building) than it did before even though you get the same thing. The pace just slows down way too much before you can even get near the expansion to other regions. I don’t even know why the game has OMEGA facilities change in cost as you progress. You reach a point in the game where there is still so much to explore but there is simply a barricade of expense and time that keeps you from it unless you spend ridiculous amounts of money on the in-game currency..Version: 1.32.2

Glitches ruin progressWith so many social interactions needed, and such difficulty to progress without throwing cash at the game, the current glitches which fail to save progress and/or steal items from your inventory make it nigh on impossible to progress in any event. I loved SimCity and miss the old gameplay where it was my city, my way. Part of the appeal of the game was this very element that this iteration gets so wrong. The new train implementation, while good for hearkening back to SC 4 days unfortunately is tainted by developer greed making it ridiculously difficult to upgrade beyond the first train. Getting so frustrated with this game, but lacking a SimCity-esque alternative makes it even more annoying..Version: 1.52.6

Not good for continuous playIt’s good… For the first 11 levels (takes less than a day to get there). From that point you’re basically forced to pay for enough currency to build services when you need them, otherwise things take a very, very long time. Good if you need something new to invest half a day in. Or if you have a lot of disposable cash..Version: 1.50.2

Good but could be betterI love this game and have played for years. My only critique is that I wish you could search in Global HQ by category, as sometimes it can take hours upon hours in hope of finding an item you’re looking to buy and quite often all the same things are up for sale, there’s very little variety. If you reach a high level it’s normally all stuff from the fast food restaurant like burgers, pizza and ice cream sandwiches. Which makes it very difficult to find ladders or cupboards for example especially if all of your production lines are full. Would be nice to search by category in Global HQ. Like building supplies, gardening supplies, hardware etc. Rather than spending 6 hours looking for something that you need in a time restricted task with full production lines. Makes it very frustrating! But other than that it’s a brilliant game!.Version: 1.33.1

Waste of time or your moneyIt’s clear from the start how this game is geared up solely to get you to pay lots of money to get anywhere. People want a game that they can enjoy playing, but very soon you will be twiddling your thumbs waiting on stuff to happen. You then need to switch the game off for a few hours, go back on to do 2mins of stuff, then back off to wait again. That’s not fun. Within two days of playing I was in the situation of my city being in despair (50% approval) with everything I needed to improve being 2 or 3 days saving money and only being on the game intermittently. Again, not fun. I’d far rather pay up front for a game like this and have smooth engaging stuff to do. I gave it 2 days play and realized that this was simply not possible. And if you cave in and pay for everything, just remember that there’s always a next thing and it’s even more expensive..Version: 1.31.1

Payed for items and the game is a scamBought beginner pack and mayors plus access for temporary access for 13.99$. In order to advance to Level 52 from 1, 4 days left on access but already used all supposed missions to all gain access to level 30 out of 52. I cannot progress further in game. DONT BUY ANY EXTRAS cause you will feel cheated paying 15$ and not able to access to level 52 and stuck at level 30 as cause according to tech support you used up all the missions that gain you to level 30. EA games of course running this modern scam. I have wrote to EA games, Business Review, and Consumer Business Association. This modern scam have to be shut down by these big corporations..Version: 1.44.1

Reason why other games are more popular: this is rubbishI’ve never had to write a review for a mobile game. Unlike restaurants or other real world services, small games like sim city has yet to astonish or bother me to warrant a review. But sim city disgusts me. I’ve been playing this game regularly for half a year now, but the more I play, the more I feel manipulated and played by the developers. All game developers decide how the gamers game, but the developers of this game simply doesn’t. There is the unreasonably priced in game purchasable currency that offers low value in the game. When compared to similar games like clash of clans, who routinely give out gems, this game lacks in generosity. Furthermore, Like some other reviewers have pointed out, the factory system is also crap and inefficient. But ultimately, this game’s lack of strategy shows how little thought was put into the production. In fact, there is no strategy in this game. Dont want to wait? Buy sim cash. Don’t have what you need? Buy sim cash. I feel like the developers intentionally rig the spin game statistics against the player to further incite purchases. It is brainless and brutal..Version: 1.34.1

Too many AdsThe ads weren’t a problem before, mainly bc if you watch them you get some type of reward, but since two updates ago, EVERY TIME i watch an Ad and then try to exit it, it instead opens the App Store. If i wanted to play one of the low effort and trash games you advertise, I would have downloaded it during the first 90 times I see it. Money hungry game, and the “deals” where you have to spend real money? Very suspicious to add that many in game purchases to a children’s game..Version: 1.47.1

Crap3 upgrades in a row and my access is blocked, no 4th delete & reload.Version: 1.47.1

It is not SIM CityThis game is not Sim City. They need to change the name to pay to play city. The offers, the need to pay for things is just way over the top and after years of basterdising the game it is no longer a city building game but a pay to build game. Every game now wants to get into the social crap of playing in teams with players that are too incoherent or immature to make it fun. Get back to what this game was at the beginning and you will have five stars. What you have now belongs in the rubbish bin..Version: 1.48.0

This game is fixed to frustrate you.It started off relatively easy but as you progress they make it extremely difficult and frustrating. This is done by making sure that the items you need are not available to you. Any item you don’t need is constantly offered to you everywhere you look but as soon as the game detects that you need this item it disappears for days and days. I assume this is to encourage you to cheat and spend lots of real money to progress more quickly. I know the developers need to make money but the rate at which this game tries to make it is a little obscene. I have played a lot of games where you make in-game purchases but this one takes the biscuit. Be warned. I think those that love the game have plenty of real money to waste on the legal, paid for cheats. Otherwise the game thwarts you at most moves. There is nothing random in this game that stops your progress. It is fixed to frustrate you into making a purchase. Oh! This isn’t a fly by night comment. I’ve been slogging away at this game for around 8 years maybe more..Version: 1.45.0

Too many adsGame was amazing until they started showing way too many 1 minute ads. It’s gone to the point where it’s unplayable! I had it on multiple devices and now I have deleted the app, won’t come back to this game again!.Version: 1.26.8

Ridiculous In-App purchasesOverall I did enjoy some aspects of this app. As an aspiring architect I downloaded this game expecting the whole “you have to pay to get this exclusive building” with a few buildings. But here’s the thing. Almost EVERY nice building/placeable item is expensive. Not to mention the cash in game is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. 50$ for like 2900 cash? Yeah no thanks. Plus, it is almost impossible to gain the larger and more eco friendly factories/power/water etc. Also, in the beginning they do not tell you about any of the fire stations and stuff you need later on, so I went about my game until I realized I had to redesign my entire city to place one fire station in. I ended up redownloading the game and starting all over. I just think it’s extremely dumb to have levels in this game? And have to expand your city land? With items that I almost never get??! It’s insanity! The only good thing about this game is designing a city. But they make it so hard - and the buildings are too expensive for the amount of coins normal players have. I’m not going to spend 500$ to buy a non-pollution power plant. I don’t want to spend money on this game. Maybe if it was better designed and didn’t have levels i would. But until something is done about the cash/coin problem, I don’t recommend this game. However it is a good way to waste 7 hours to upgrade a house that only gives you like 200 coins :).Version: 1.26.5

Quickly gets tediousAn absorbing game initially with a lot of potential, but it just doesn’t seem possible to me to progress without buying loads of in-game currency purchases. I accept that that’s the business model for a free game, nevertheless the requirements for building and upgrading by about level 17 are just absurd, especially when you’re trying to save to expand the board to build more, and there just comes a point of stalemate where you can’t really progress. This is also to do with the tiny coverage of utilities and services, so as you try to expand your savings are always being decimated by having to build yet another clinic or police station, because you can never afford to build the big ones! Painfully slow progress, I also agree with another reviewer; an offline sandbox would be great for those of us who care more about design than competition; having to come back every 20-30 mins for about 90 seconds of gameplay is just tedious. This has so much potential, and looks great on my iPad Pro, but it’s just frustratingly slow and boggy..Version: 1.23.2

There should be on and off switch to hide pop upsI can’t see my whole city because of the pop ups. There should be kind of on and off button so that i can hide all the pop ups. They are so annoying..Version: 1.30.4

Club wars good idea but you need to ban the cheats!I’ve been playing for over a year now and belong to a Great War club. We’ve won some wars and lost some fairly but there are those clubs who unfairly win or hide under the bubble for more than >12 hours when they are in the lead by a small margin. This is an unfair advantage for them as they may lead by only 1000 points but win because they play this move. The 2nd problem is that some clubs are able to recoup energy very quickly then is legal and then attack you and gain more points then is actually allowed. This just points to a hack. Although this is hugely frustrating, but you wonder why EA don’t do something about this? They are losing players and also the motivation as to why I should spend any cash on this game to improve my chances. Get the hint EA?.Version: 1.24.4

DisappointingIf you’re expecting this to be like the original game, you’re in for a disappointment. It’s overly complicated, cumbersome, and lacks any feeling of evolution from a small town to a big city..Version: 1.47.1

Impossible to play without spending a lot of your moneyI have tried to play this game and keep getting stuck. The game development is made to get you spending your money and even that is not enough. I have tried to complete the “epic project “ 3 times and never get close, even after purchasing simcash. Disappointed. I miss the real game without the in app purchases scam..Version: 1.53.1

Had promise a long time agoStarted life as a good mobile alternative to the desktop version. Soon showed that the developers are more interested in making money than a playable game. However it IS possible to go all the way without spending cash. Big letdown is once there that is it. No further land, no prospects of more. Now it is fight your neighbours which NOT why I play this game. Club wars and battling other mayors isn’t fun. Unless more land is made available I will succumb to the inevitable boredom and delete a memory hungry sad affair. Pity. Well, now we have more land but after a short while flaws become obvious. Earning green valley currency is solely through building not through earning taxes. So it soon becomes virtually impossible to progress again. Also manufacturing is highly limited without progress to additional items. Not encouraging me to stay any longer. Shame..Version: 1.24.4

Used to be a good gameBut just lately it has become glitchy, laggy and slow. Not an enjoyable playing experience at all.Version: 1.40.0

Add real statistics and make the game more easier to complete and the regions should be removedGames good except please make unlocking more land easier or cheaper and also please make assignments in contest of the mayors easier please don’t add produce and collect assignments they are the worst Oh and plz just plz make the game more real and sensible what’s man made orbital cannons and man made earth quakes supposed to do with building a city and Also plz add maintenance things in the game like how does a coal power plant magically make power for your own city and also how does a city have to have so many skyscrapers like you can’t boost your population without upgrading buildings and also plz make building buildings sensible like not upgrading them 5 times but instead building them from to start also in the new update regions are too slow going and boring I think they have to be removed from sim city permanently.Version: 1.24.4

FrustratedThe way the dynamics of this game are makes it very hard to progress or expand your city or upgrade anything. Basically pay to win, or just wait days and days until you can do something. But your citizens will probably move out by then. I love SimCity but this game just made me mad..Version: 1.30.4

Terrible epic buildings featureI got this game about a while back, and only re-downloaded it recently. As expected, there were new updates. A noticeable change was the fact that you had to get 40 epic points to get the turtle speed up tokens rather than the 5 epic points it used to be. I don’t particularly care about the speed up token production, but the epic buildings are the only buildings in the game that look nice. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get 40 epic points. 24 hours is not enough time, and the limited storage capacity means it’s difficult to stock up prior. In addition to this, on earlier levels, players can’t afford many specialised buildings and the ones they can afford, only produce 1 epic point per several items. After 8 attempts I managed to get one epic building, which was down to luck (as a few of the items I had to collect I already had). This change was obviously an attempt to get more cash as people would have to buy speed up tokens, in game money to purchase the items etc. I am very disappointed as the epic building feature wasn’t easy before the update, but was not impossibly hard like it is now. I suggest changing it back to the way it was as many people are irritated by this feature. And if you are not willing to listen to consumer feedback all it’s going to do is make people delete this game. Please change it so you only need 10 or so epic points to get the turtle speed up tokens. Thank you!.Version: 1.28.4

Can you add tradingWould be really awesome if we could trade items. At the very least make it so you can buy gold keys with platinum keys..Version: 1.43.1

Money. Money. Money. All they care about is money. It is very addictive gameplay wise, but it’s very hard to make a substantial amount of in game currency without opening your wallet. Every time I produce items that take longer than 5 minutes to finish production, it asks if I want to watch a video to complete the process. Every. Single. Time. If I declined the offer the first 5 times what makes you think I wanna say yes immediately after that? Expanding the city also becomes increasingly difficult as the parts you need to do so rarely come by, that is if you don’t spend money on the game. Another problem is with the amount of currencies they have. It’s hard to keep up when there are too many different types. Platinum keys, gold keys, Simoleons, NeoSimoleons, Cash, Wave, Cactus, Lime, Fish, and Leaf simoleons. Cash is one of the harder ones to obtain and it’s needed for pretty much everything. You want to be able to mass produce things while you’re away? Spend money or win a contest. You wanna win a contest so you don’t have to spend money to earn cash? Not gonna happen because other players spent enough to win the contests leaving you behind with little to nothing for participating. If you spend $20 you hardly get enough to buy anything because once you spend it on a handful of upgrades, you’ll probably have nothing left for anything else. 2 stars because it is a fun game, but there’s a lot of incentive not to play it simultaneously..Version: 1.43.1

Stop the mass transit milestone!I’ve played for several years. I have a level 99 city & a level 79 city. I spend lots of real money, but I will quit this game if mass transit milestones continue. One of my cities is a beta tester for mass transit, I have a COM milestone assignment for mass transit. The number of hours necessary to complete that assignment are 125. There possibly may be just enough time to complete it providing I am online at 1 am when COM starts, I get the milestone at the beginning of COM & I am available every 2.5 hours to dispatch a train for 5 solid days. Once I’ve dispatched trains 250 times, I should have enough train simoleons to buy a train that carries 30 passengers instead of just 20 so I can reduce that 125 hours to 83 hours. You can use 32 simcash to skip the 2.5 hours, but you still have to wait for passengers. If I were to use simcash to complete the entire assignment, it would cost 1,600. If I took first prize in COM I will have only made 400 simcash; however, if I take 2nd place, I will have lost 600 simcash. I accept that i may be wrong, that possibly I’m missing something about mass transit, but I can’t seem to find information to change my opinion. There are so many other issues that I have with these trains, but my main purpose for playing SimCity is for COM, if I have mass transit milestones, I may as well quit. I’m sure there are plenty of games out there that I can spend my money on!.Version: 1.51.1

Too many cheaters and hackers, don’t bother playing!DO NOT BOTHER PLAY THIS GAME! WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY. EA JUST DO NOT CARE. THEY ALLOW THOSE CHEATERS FOR US HONEST PEOPLE TO BE DESPERATE TO SPEND MONEY FOR CONTESTS CAUSE WE CANNOT WIN EVER SO WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF PLAYING THIS RIDICULOUS GAME!!???? I’VE BEEN PLAYING THIS GAME FOR ALMOST 6 YEARS WITH THE RESULTS OF BEING MISERABLE .....TRUST ME ON THIS.Version: 1.28.4

Do not download this gameThis game is atrocious. It would be bearable if EA wasn’t so greedy for money. It is impossible to succeed and grow your city due to the high prices of everything, including the critical buildings such as police stations, health clinics and fire stations. Without these your city will be abandoned. There is 0% chance you can successfully grow your city and enjoy playing the game without paying real money. It’s not even worth downloading. The game has potential but unfortunately EA puts money above all. 0 stars!!.Version: 1.50.2

Money money moneyThe game is very detailed and graphics excellent but the tasks are money motivated if you want to spend money on a game then fine but playing it with out spending any money is frustrating and nearly impossible at some point you NEED to spend some in order to progress. The themed houses are the main reasons you have to spend money as the upgrades are money motives. I bulldozed mine because it was impossible to fully upgrade them UPDATE been doing the new areas lovely except after each upgrade for the houses they are nice some really lovely, that you don’t want to upgrade but with the big yellow hard hat stuck over them it’s impossible you have to upgrade could you not automatically force the upgrade, maybe when we want to upgrade either tap twice on the house and then give the option upgrade y/n I had a beautiful house in Limestone valley ,but had to upgrade because of the hard hat it out to be just another high rise nothing special giving the option to have different levels of housing makes for a better looking city rather then all high rises the capital city is high rise why do all new city’s have to be the same ,they end up not beautiful at all.Version: 1.26.8

Fun but annoying and broken adsThe stupid market is consistently filled with nothing but sugar and spice. Which is painful. Mark the market more usable, with more flexible pricing. I’m happy to watch an ad or play interactive ad, but when it gives you nothing it becomes frustrating and prevents me from watching or playing more. At least apply some quality control to your ads. Also the assignment center would majorly benefit from help or description text being available for the assignments as I can’t work out what many assignments are, and just fail them eg “Upgrade a catus canyon zone” I assumed this meant a residential zone but apparently not..... ???.Version: 1.29.3

Keeps crashing.Crashes every single time I open the app. Tried to refresh the app, reset iPad. I tried everything but it keeps crashing. I’ve given up at this point. It’s simply not worth all of the trouble..Version: 1.43.1

Not bad but what’s with all the materials neededThis game is very similar to all the others that buy land and build things, like The Simpsons. Except in those games to buy land and build things it usually takes an item and cash, and you can earn those easy with time. This game needs cash, and plows, and gears, and gloves, and cakes and the list goes on and on. It takes many many many hours to get land or move up in the game, unless you’re willing to spend thousands. Good luck!.Version: 1.46.1
