✓ Need support helpHi. This app, which I use and enjoy, shows a picture (supposed to be me?). I’m not sure where and why. I didn’t authorize any pictures. Please remove the picture. I tried to do this but there is no way for the consumer to remove this personal information—at least no way I could see after an extensive search. Thank you..Version: 9.9.7

✓ Serious lack of human factors in designNavigation between features (dictionary, translation, context, conjugation) is very user-unfriendly. In the Translator feature, changing languages is impossible if text is already entered in the input field. Recalling a word from the history recalls the word and the language, and it’s impossible to recall the word for translation in another language. Very frustrating ..Version: v7.7
✓ Terrible AppJust 1 example of many…Basic cut and paste that other apps like Google Translate understand the importance of for texting others in other languages. I type in two words and I can’t even cut and paste since the last app update. Even if you have the clipboard option turned on - why is the clipboard option turned off by default anyway? All it gives are examples but not just a straight translation of just the words so you can copy them. It only works when you type in a long translation that isn’t an example they have. They don’t even read properly their support cases or they’d understand the problem correctly..Version: 10.6.1
✓ Disappointed with upgradeI upgraded all suggested features if this app, thinking I would get voice narration of the full text I had imported (twice). The narrator stops after a couple of sentences, and the app doesn’t seem to remember the texts I have imported by camera. In one area I see that I can change speed of reader‘s voice, but that doesn’t seem to apply to text I have imported. Within the app, I find no „help“ or „support“, which is disappointing, as I signed up for premier membership. It’s hard to intuitively find the features I thought I had purchased. I would have preferred to contact the developer directly, rather than in review, but I don’t see where you can do that..Version: 9.9
✓ Brilliant App, but last update made it rubbishI’ve been using this app every single day since over half a year now. It’s been perfect till last update. Now, around 50% of word searches finish at pop up, that app can’t reach the server. What worse, it stays like that, meaning one has to turn the app off totally and start it again to make search option functioning, what makes using this app total waste of time and nerves. Edit after devs reply: I CAN’T update to iOS 13. Sorry but I won’t buy new phone because you updated your app in a way that it stopped working properly on older versions of the same system..Version: 9.3
✓ Horrendous adsAfter the last update between translations you get enormous annoying ads that are animated and flickering, completely kills my concentration and focus while doing my projects. Please have some respect for your consumers, not all of us can afford buying premium. Just leave a banner down there and it’ll be ok. Left a sour taste in my mouth..Version: 9.7
✓ Could be betterThe idea is good, the execution bad. The translations are not as good as some others, I like the context function, it helps if you study a language, but 1/3 of the translated examples are rather bad, too many are rather technical like from EU documentations, 1/3 is satisfactory. On your PC browser you have a voice output for two languages, which learners appreciate, in the app only one and it’s the wrong one for me..Version: 9.8.8

✓ Ads are blocking accessI just gave a 5 stars but then I had another ad that block me from using Reverso even after I was redirected to a website (Fresh Plus) I still couldn’t get rid of ad even when I deleted the browser tab, Reverso still blocked my use of app with the same ad. I just deleted Reverso for the second time in two days. One more and I am done. Reverso was an excellent app..Version: 11.0

✓ Amazing app, but seriously this many ads??I’ve been a user for about a year and a half and over a few updates, Reverso has been prompting many ads (almost after each translation/favorite). Recently, after I used the “speech to text” option (about 10 times), it locked me out! Each time I push the microphone button now, it refers me to the “free trial for 7-days then 2.99” screen. I loved this app but I would greatly appreciate it if they wouldn’t shove the subscription in my face every time I go to translate..Version: 9.0
✓ No conjugator shortcut, missing tensesI can’t believe that there is no shortcut to the conjugator. I need to first translate a word from the opposite language and then click a specific icon to view conjugations. And once I am at the verb conjugations many tenses are missing compared to the web version. In French the passé composé tense is missing - are you kidding me?!?!?.Version: 9.9
✓ Deeply offensive flashcardsI looked up translation for the word Jewish, and the flashcards which came up in the next session were racist and offensive. The first sentence was “It might be difficult to catch this Jew” and the options offered were goose/hag/sorceress/Jew. The next sentence was nothing to do with Jews, but the options offered were sheeney/trap/witch/Jew. Change your algorithm that selects phrases and the words for the multiple choice..Version: 8.8.5

✓ BugsThe app doesn’t work on iPad; I can’t hit enter after I’ve typed in my search; nothing happens. Searching only works if I tap a suggestion. In addition, the copy-from-clipboard feature (not one I would ever want on by default, but it is) asks every five minutes or more if the app can snoop at my clipboard. Extremely aggravating. I didn’t even know this was possible, so I didn’t understand what was happening and almost uninstalled the app outright before I realized it was a setting. ✓ Useful but annoying and persistentVery useful app. I’m not sure if there are other apps that are like it, and I haven’t checked. But this app will make sure to ask you 10,000 times per day if you can allow tracking for them. No matter how many times you say no, it will keep asking you. It will also ask you a million times per day to “make a free account”. I finally made a free account just to shut it up and so that I don’t slam my phone into a brick wall out of frustration. Now their newest thing to beg from me 10,000 times per day is for me to upgrade to the premium version. Idk if I’ve ever had an app that begs so persistently for you to give them money one way or another. It really breaks the user experience and makes me want to just use another app and forget this one even exists. I will now be searching the App Store to find a replacement..Version: 11.1.0

✓ Good app with serious problemI keep getting a prompt to buy reverse so premium however when I try to do it I get the message that in app purchases are not permitted. Then when I go to the App Store, and try to purchase the premium addition, I get thrown back to the app itself with the same message. If you really want to sell the premium version, you need to fix this problem. It has been going on for months and I thought it would be fixed by now. Since it hasn’t, I am writing this review. ✓ Odd translationsMostly the app works well and I really like the “quiz” feature. Also like the pronunciation checker. But some translations are just plain wrong. I’m native English, B2 level Italian learner. Some Reverso sentences have words one side that simply don’t exist in the other language. Example: “il gelido vento notturno” is translated as “the cold night” when it is clearly “the cold wind”(albeit a nocturnal wind). A translation app is no good if the translations are wrong..Version: 11.9.2
✓ Can’t swap between functionsOn the whole this is a very good app, but I can’t work out how to move from context to other functions eg conjugation, grammar etc. I could be my age and poor IT skills….Version: 11.2
✓ Full of pushy UX anti-patternsTheir translation service is really good especially at finding contextual examples of words and idioms. The recent redesign of the app is pretty good too. What I'm giving this review 1 star for is for the pushy UX anti patterns that pervade this app. Two examples: 1) They keep pushing you to allow ad-tracking at least once per app cold start. 2) And they keep pushing you to sign up for their subscription service literally EVERY time you favorite a word or sentence. Look, I get it. You gotta make money and devs gotta eat. I'm a mobile developer myself. And I actually did have a subscription for a year. But this level of pushiness takes it way too far. If you're a product manager reading this review, please back off this level of aggressiveness or at least A/B test it or talk to your users. I refuse to throw any money towards any business that has this kind of aggressive attitude. You can lock features behind paywalls: nothing wrong with that. But don't pester or bully users to the extent that the app is almost unusable..Version: 11.2

✓ Learn & Practice sections don’t workFor the life of me I can’t understand what’s going on in the “Practice” and “Learn” areas of the app. Sentences and words flash across the screen but there is no clear objective to why. A small explanation popping up would be helpful. Also, if you press the microphone button in those areas it doesn’t speak the translation or takes forever to do so. I have no idea how I’m supposed to practice or learn anything without bare words on a screen. I can read a Spanish newspaper if I wanted that. You can’t stop them or slow them down. Come on people, how hard is that to fix? ✓ Bugs and ChronologyI loved this app because I’ve been using it for months and gathered a pretty robust vocabulary set for memorizing but while using it I experienced lags and slow responses that frustrated me and made me redownload to see if a newer version update would fix that. ✓ The app is getting worseI usually use the app to check my self and translate from Russian to English and vice verse. When I just loaded the app around a year ago, the quality of translation was really good. I was able to translate longer phrases and the app shows pretty cool samples. However, for the last few months I started to notice that quality of translation is getting worse. Samples are not that nice as before and usually contain mistakes or not fully translating. At the beginning this app was really nice alternative to google translate. It was more proper and better quality, but now I’m getting disappointed. ✓ Tired of the bugsI’d been using this app for over a year and used to love it. In the quiz section I had an “excellent” rating and had over 200 words memorized, but now, randomly, I have a “good” rating showing only 30 words memorized. In the past I would go through and correct the lists, rechecking “memorized” again and again for each individual word, to show that I had memorized them already. But the bug is continually happening, so today I give up. Also, I have noticed several faulty English to Spanish translations. I’m a native English speaker, with Intermediate to advanced Spanish language skills. If you are a beginner, there is no way for you to know when these translations are inaccurate. I don’t know how to upgrade for possible bug fixes. Instead of deleting this app so I can install a possibly upgraded version, my version just goes to the cloud and then downloads back the same way..Version: 9.6
