Molecules by Theodore Gray for Positive User Reviews

FascinatingThis is the third app in the series after the elements, elements in action and now this. If you want to use your iPad for more than "just" games then this is the sort of thing that you should consider, I have all 3 now and can recommend them. I was, to be honest expecting this to be around £2.50, the cost of elements in action but there has obviously been a great deal of effort gone into producing this. I am only around 10 percent or so through it but is excellent and seems pitched at around the right level for a non academic (but not an imbecile either) like me to understand. They all use a lot of memory so perhaps not really suitable if you only have a 16g iPad..Version: 1.1.0

Gray writes with styleThis is an app I would recommend to everyone who is interested in physics, Theodore Gray writes with the approach of a master physicist and matches it with the flair of a master craftsman...fascinating. Five stars..Version: 1.1.0

Astonishing!I have a job that doesn't involve any science, so this app was an eye-opener. This app was well-written, humorous, but having a sense of wonder..Version: 1.1.0

Great. ButJust thought I'd mention, under chapter 13: the most horrible very bad inorganic compound ever. There are a few repeated paragraphs. Anyway, thanks..Version: 1.1.0

Worth the $18Before the purchase I hesitated for a long period because of the price, but the contents are really excellent..Version: 1.1.0

Astounding.I went into this app with high expectations after the remarkable quality of "The Elements" and "The Planets." I was not disappointed. If anything, my expectations were far too low. The notion of an entire digital coffee table-style book about molecules seems a little odd, to say the least, but it turns out that it's incredibly fun to manipulate molecules in scientifically-accurate 3D models. To look at the models of medications I take to understand better how they differ from precursor medicines, or to read about why two similar molecules have wildly different characteristics, is fascinating. And this book presents a lot of basic and important scientific knowledge in an engaging and surprisingly conversational tone. This is exactly the sort of thing that makes technology in general and the iPad in particular a must for schools and education. Magnificent..Version: 1.1.0

Great app but no bookmark feature!?This is a great book but difficult to return to because it lacks a bookmark tool!?.Version: 1.1.0

Awsome!!!It explains molecules and shows how they work, nice work on the app it must of took you a long time to write the book!.Version: 1.1.0

Great bookReally nice book, very well done. I just started it but already a lot of neat things, wish I’d had this in chemistry class. The chapter on names by the way reminds me of an excellent book by Patrick Rothfuss, “Name of the Wind”. I’d like to see a few exercises or a way to test predictions - might need a bit more math for that I guess. As usual from TouchPress titles, high production quality and deep content..Version: 1.1.0

Beautiful educational appThis app is absolutely beautiful. This type of educational tool is going to revolutionize how people learn and think about chemistry. If you've ever wanted to 'touch' and 'play' with the physics underlying chemistry, this app is a must have..Version: 1.1.0

FantasticAbsolutely fantastic app. The book is well written, and the interactive simulations are fantastic. I love how they are integrated with the book. I use NAMD (which is actually running the simulations) for my research. Being able to interact with these molecules on through the touch screen is incredible. The app has style. It's fast, intuitive, and altogether awesome. A hell of a lot of work went into this app and it shows. Highly recommended for all..Version: 1.1.1

Jiggly molecules10/10 molecule physics! This app is awesome.Version: 2.0.0

It’s ALIVE!Most molecules apps I’ve seen don’t make things nearly this digestible or as fun. They usually have cold/dead models of molecules, but the interactive, living, dynamic models this provides completely changed how I viewed molecular structure and made it so much more fun and interesting..Version: 1.1.1

ExquisiteAbsolutely exquisite and wonderfully written. I've been a bioanalytical chemist for 17 years and I fell in love with molecules a long time ago but I also teach a chemistry of life course for non-science majors and my goal is to present scientific principles in a way that anyone can not only understand but also appreciate the beauty of. This book does that and more. And I'm only on chapter 2..Version: 1.1.0

Great appWonderful! Accessible and educational while also very interesting. Well done!.Version: 1.1.2

OutstandingThis interactive book is riveting. I can’t put it down and neither can my kids!.Version: 1.1.0

Worth every penny! Not only is this app/book beautifully constructed, it helps users really understand the subject. I wish Theodore Gray had more apps like this for other subjects too. Bravo to Mr Gray and whoever helped him put this together, it is truly a masterpiece..Version: 1.1.0

Amazing app. You are the BEST!Both of your apps, The Elements and Molecules, are absolutely the BEST and well worth the money..Version: 1.1.0

NO BOOKMARKING?? (iPhone 6)The bookmarking problem seems to be an iPhone 6 issue. Works fine on the iPad, which is the intended platform. Amazing book, great app. The book is SOLID 5 stars, but the app lacks bookmarking. That makes for a looooooot of scroooooooling every time I return to it. When that gets fixed I'll update my review. If I'm missing it feel free to call me out in public. I've looked everywhere. Integration with the Elements app could be smoother as well (same orientation, etc) but again, that is a 5 star book..Version: 1.1.0

Awesome! This app is amazing! If you want this app for the interactions, don't get it. The book, on the other hand, is amazing! It is very informative and interesting. I'm not sure I would pay $14.99 for it, but I got the sale price of $2.99. Sooo worth it!.Version: 1.1.1

Great! This app has little or no glitches, and is filled full of good information!.Version: 1.2.0

MoleculesThis is a good app but it needs editing. When there are several molecules on a page sometimes they are not labelled and nit next to the appropriate text, and there are frequent right-left errors. (Sometimes when describing location of methyl groups.) Trying to spin images near the margins is too likely to change pages instead. Some text does not work in the iPad version ("table on this page" is actually on the next.) Display of page numbers would be helpful. Finally, I am surprised here is nothing more specific about stereoisomers, e.g., ephedrine and pseudoephedrine..Version: 1.1.0

Fantastic book, needs a fix to remember current positionThis is an absolutely amazing book, well written, beautifully illustrated, and very engaging. It is a perfect example of what a book can be on an iOS device. There is one very irritating issue, that needs to be fixed: the app completely resets itself whenever I leave it or switch to another app. When I return I have to open the chapter again and scroll to my last position. That is very common because I flip over to Wikipedia a lot to explore some topics in more detail..Version: 1.1.0

Bit Pricey but Very GoodIf you have "Elements" and enjoyed it, then you must get this too. It's not a text book it's a marvellous, educational, entertainment for anyone with even a little interest in science and chemistry. It may seem a bit expensive but it looks gorgeous and the amount of work that has gone into this is obvious. I think it's what iPads were made for and so I think it's worth every penny..Version: 1.1.0

Best chemistry book ever!I'm an 8th grade science teacher and this is the best chemistry book I've ever experienced. It makes learning about chemistry, simple, fun and interactive! I love the relevant examples, humor, spinning objects, videos and especially the interactive 3D molecules! I just finished experiencing the whole book (notice I didn't just say reading, cause it's so much more than that) and can't wait to share it with family and friends and get it into he hands of my students! Thank you!.Version: 1.1.0

Words can not describe...This app is amazing. I know it's expensive, but if you can, get it. This app is really just marvelous. I can not describe even close to the extent that I love this app..Version: 1.1.0

Fantastic book, stuck in English-speaking community. That's the closest to "periodic table" of molecules. Actually this is a textbook, that covers the distance between chemistry and substances we see, use and depend on everyday. You can get more insights to the lower structure of world we are living in, both natural and urban. Please, use my money to translate Molecules into other languages. I was tempted to give 4 stars because it has no Russian translation, but your Elements app has good Russian. So I have some faith you are working on it. Apps like this one cover the last mile of scientific treasures delivery, contributes to the human culture and advance the whole world towards the better place to live in. Everyone should buy Elements and Molecules, but developers must make the first step over language barrier..Version: 1.1.0

Very informative. Well done.I found this app very well done and I learned a lot about molecules and the substances made from them. It provides a good visual representation which makes learning fun. You need the other apps “The Elements” and “In Action” so you can benefit from its full potential. I got all 3 apps and together they form a great learning experience. Works well with iOS 11 on my iPhone 8 Plus..Version: 1.1.6

Need more languages!Please, add Russian language.Version: 1.1.0

Gorgeous, Breathtaking, 简直美的一比,希望赶紧出中文版!Though my native language is Chinese, this new book by Theodore Gray and Touch Press is still astounding. 5 stars are not enough to say how good this app is. Hope Chinese version will come out soon! 强烈推荐大家看一看这个App,绝对大开眼界,虽然都是英文但是看看图片就已经是种享受了!.Version: 1.1.0

BrilliantAll the content of the book, with interactive moving molecular models. A real tour de force of interactive media..Version: 1.1.0

Terrific educational programThe quality of this app is incredible! This is my favorite app on my iPad. Thank you!.Version: 1.1.0

AmazingI loved and then hated chemistry in high school. This book made me fall back in love all over again! I have never seen chemistry laid out this beautifully. Thanks for bringing good to this world.Version: 1.1.0
