However, after few sessions, they got hooked up on just playing games created by other kids , instead of continuing learning coding. At first, I was very happy to see my son liking and asking for CodeSpark; however, when I realized that he is just playing games this created by other kids and told him to start doing coding levels, he pretty much lost interest. I wish this option of playing games created by other kids had limited access or wasn’t available, so that the App stimulated more coding efforts and not just playing games. A few days ago we noticed that he started being mean to his little sister, saying that he is going to punish her and will force her to eat soap..! We were shocked with my husband and couldn’t comprehend where this is coming from as we don’t punish our kids, esp using such barbaric methods!! It turned out that my son has been listening to stories created by other children in CodeSpark and the content of these stories is sometimes appalling (this soap eating punishment was entirely taken from one of the cartoons on codespark!). We immediately deleted the app and an alarming email was sent to Codespark team. The response was something along the lines that all cartoons were approved and we aren’t changing anything. I purchased the lifetime subscription during Black Friday and I followed their instructions for redeeming it but the system just wouldn’t recognize a lifetime subscription has been redeemed. I followed all of their instructions and still can’t access the app with the subscription I’ve paid for. Even if those got fixed, not worth the money. ——- The layout of the Ul requires swiping near the bottom which gets confused with the swipe up gesture. This makes it infuriating for children to use. Parts of the app simply don’t work - eg. catching falling items in a basket. They always fall through regardless of how you position the character. The signup process was painful. ✓ Unintuitive contra productive interfaceAfter paying and signing in, first page doesn’t lead to anywhere. It has two active buttons, parent and teacher. After repetitive unavoidable filling out of my birthdate in both categories, teacher page leads nowhere, parent page leads to another page which doesn’t recognize that I am signed in, nor asks for it. Only one time showed up a page through same selection process with downloads, which was the only way to play one lesson and that was it. To get back to that page is through a labyrinth of repetitive actions, but still never showed up again. That alone is quenching user experience, and I will unsubscribe this application. I am not happy somebody published this application which feels like it’s early beta version (not to be published developmental stage). The next day the price went up. I contacted customer service as they told me they do not offer lifetime memberships anymore. After I submitted proof of both offers, I did not receive a response. The emails continued. Since my daughter wanted it again,I tried to purchase at the higher price (still lifetime membership), but it still wouldn’t process. ✓ Good but flawedIt’s a great premise to get kids involved in coding and the puzzles work really well. Unfortunately none of the stories work on my not brand new iPad, which is quite sad as they’re a big part of the app..Version: 2.41.00

✓ ThievesI cancelled the subscription in the games app in the trial period because my kid did not like it. They went on to charge a full years subscription anyway. Probably impossible to get a refund, anyway like i have the time to invest to sort that out. Better stay away and avoid yourself the trouble..Version: 2.40.01
