✓ Problem riddled :(Most games make it worth the money. this game you can spend £400 per month just to get rewards in events (that there are the same 15 amount bands for despite the player base tripling)... and even after spending that youd think you’d be rich in the game, but no. youre still broke. good items are at least 5k. you cant make money easily theres no way to do it in game except sell items, and unless you have sought after things (which you wont bc theyre 100k+ and £99 will get you 20k) its impossible to rack up gold to do anything. basically unless you have an extreme amount of disposable currency.. ✓ Why?????So when I installed high rise, I was extremely excited to play it for my friends recommended it to me. The avatars looked so cute and amazing so I thought you know what, let’s give it a try! So when I first got in the game, it got me to make an avatar with some cute clothing which was really fun, but then it told me to go to the free grab thingy to get items of clothing and I had to watch adds to get a grab. I was fine with it so I watched an add but then my screen went completely black for a while. I decided to wait for it might be some glitch. I ended up waiting 2 hours and no change, so I reinstalled the game and tried again and no change. I’ve been playing for two years now and I’ve been watching it slowly turn into a hideous dumpster fire. The creators have been getting greedier and greedier and the player base is getting screwed over more and more by them. First of all the most recent event - Hairrise Redux has been completely rigged to the point where no players could get any good rewards unless they spent a ton of money (both in game and irl money). It’s pretty much become a dress-up version of a pay to win game. However, the straw that REALLY broke the camels back was the Pretty in Punk fiasco. $100 for a set of wings and nothing else. No in game money, no crew rewards, just a single set of wings. For $100. And to make matters worse, one of the creative directors of the game OPENLY MOCKED the users when confronted about the pack, saying “Sorry you can’t afford the wings” and “Get mad at your job, not HR.” (Both of these quotes I took directly from leaked ss of the conversation) HR has made NO statement on this and the employee has had no reprimanding. ✓ It’s cute but expensive and people are rude.I enjoyed this game and it has some cute outfits. But it all comes with a price and if you want to trade or buy something from other players the prices are ridiculous!!! (Not to mention you have to pay for gold). People are selling items for 100k.. which is approx $600AUD!! (If you buy the $159 package!!). Seriously who on earth would pay that for clothes on an app?!?! Also people who have spent their money on “grabs” then sell items off and can be expensive, they get angry if you don’t “read their post correctly”. I was 15 when I started (didn't even read the age requirement), now I'm turning 17 in a few days. Within those two years, I have spent so much money, and so much more time than I should be as a teen. It is genuinely a pay to play game at this point. If something is free, you have to watch an ad for it, and it'll still only give you 2-5 coins, which gets you nowhere in the game. ✓ This Game Gives Me HeadachesThe words I would use to describe the staff of this application are selfish and uncaring. The creators themselves stated that they are working to focus on the “game” aspect of this app (which I can only assume means “events” which require real-life currency in order for you to actually succeed), yet they have eliminated all of the free mini games such as Wolf, Draw, and Fishing that were loved by the community and actually drew people together. Not to mention all of the updates, fixes, and changes have only created an unimaginable amount of bugs. The community itself has grown to become extremely toxic and unhealthy. Events have done nothing but create stress and tension understandably, as they are not games anymore. Users are pitted against each other in a competition of who can spend the most and sleep the least in order to rank the highest. If you are not a seasoned and well-known player with nice items, people do not want to be your friend because the app is also littered with scammers, catfish, racists, and pedophiles. I have seen pornographic images and anonymous hate accounts left posted for long amounts of time. The staff are of little to no help when it comes to responding to support tickets, unless a huge uproar is made. They do not care much for user input, it makes no actual difference to the development of the app itself. I’ve been playing Highrise since 2019 and have only seen it go downhill. It’s a truly pay to win game. They would also introduce new features that would benefit the players and everyone liked it, but then remove it claiming it was being “ABUSED”. ✓ The updateI’ve been playing this game for 2 years and I’ve been mad at a few things on this app before but not as much as I hate this update, theirs a few good things with the update but way more things that were just unnecessary, for instance, the only way to check your gold and bubbles is to go to shop, which isn’t a big deal but is just unnecessary and before the update u could see it anywhere which was much better. Also we are only able to do 2 gestures now, there were many of them and could even buy them and now there’s only 2. I mean, I get it, the developers need to be paid in order you produce and run the game, but my god, it’s crazy the amount of loops you have to do in order to get a tshirt. This pressure to get cool stuff really has corrupted this game. Just watching people do boring mundane stuff in order to get stuff, and then when they have the stuff it’s not fashion anymore so they do more boring mundane stuff. But despite that, I feel as if the events (who occur weekly) are being repeated with different awards only to gain a lot more money as their benefit, but lead to unfortunate complaints with players who claim 'it's a waste of time' and whatnot. And finally, it's best if you try to be friends with the right people, such as the ones who do not remove you from crews because you 'don't put any effort into the events' (aka using you for awards) or those who enjoy to make arguments over the smallest of issues. ✓ Problem with the staffThe game itself it’s amazing; however, there’s a section in the settings which let’s you ask the staff questions. I contacted the app managers telling them about my concern over my friends account, it took a few hours for them to respond and a man called Anthony replied in a rude way. He made me feel like he was better than me and made it clear he wasn’t going to sort out the problem I messaged him about. He kept repeating him self saying he couldn’t tell me the information and when I told him that’s fine but can he please think about what I said he quickly sent me automatic message which ended our chat not letting me carry on my message. Their reason for removing this was that if people had accumulated enough free spin tokens, they could spin and spin grabs until they eventually won a legendary, which you are awarded after completing a grab. While free spin tokens give you account-bound items that cannot be traded, completing a grab will always give you a tradable legendary, and because legendaries were becoming easier to earn, their value would decrease. Started making my avatar and thought it looked nice, the clothes weren’t great but I thought I’d have some better ones once I started playing. I chose my room and then started the tutorial, I found it disappointing that it gives you a thousand bubbles but then forces you to spend it on a certain grab. It forces you to buy furniture you probably don’t want aswell instead of letting you choose from what’s in the shop. Once you complete the annoying tasks you’re left with about 2 thousand bubbles which isn’t enough to put a decent outfit together or build a nice room. Then after the tutorial you have to wait until the next day to get any more bubbles. Good side like making friends and looking great many people like me enjoy dress up it’s fun there are many great items in the game. Also many artists post their art and become known and can just share their talent with others. Sadly the bad stuff are more. First so many toxic people. BUT the powers that be introduce a new money grabbing scheme every 5 seconds and it becomes a bit of a bore unless you’re willing to spend thousands (genuinely thousands). I’ve evented with a crew that isn’t even the top rankings and witnessed one person spend £800 over 3-4 days. These events are weekly and that spending is basically the only way to win anything half decent. Then the items become so overpriced because of the amount of money people put in to get them, so basically… you’ll never have them. It’s all just toxic and dangerous and promotes gambling and overspending.
