✓ Great app, but hard to use.This really is a great app. It’s like a musician’s instagram. There are so many talented people on here, and everyone is super friendly. I gave it 4 stars because when it comes to recording your own stuff, it’s very difficult to use. I was recording a trio with my self and I had the metronome going and I was in time, but when I played back the recording, the app sped up the harmony, and a beautiful song sounded horrible. I can’t find where to change that. Also, where are the tools to edit sound and video?? I’m just really confused when recording my own music but I do recommend this app..Version: 4.09.2

✓ Love itI’m not a fan of having to subscribe to apps, but this one feels well worth it because I’m using it daily, in fact I’m a bit addicted to it! I tried various other similar apps, but this is the only one where each part stays in perfect sync, plus, I love the mixing capabilities and reverb and EQ. ✓ You should add this.I like this app but one thing that I hate about it, is that you can only add one video from your photo library and then you have to do the rest of the videos on the app. Not all of us have time to record ourself filming the same song over again to make it sound like harmony. The only thing about this App I would critique is the lack of community communication between users. ✓ Developers, please read!!As great as this app is, I’ve discovered some difficulties. With every layer I add to the Acapella app, it refuses to add it! It says “your device is running low on resources, there might be too many apps in the background. Please close some of your background app and perform a hard restart on your device. Press “learn more” to get information on how to perform a hard restart.” So, I close out my apps; doesn’t work. I restart my phone; doesn’t work. I press ‘learn more’; it just says that Acapella saves what I have even if I restart. It’s frustrating to post videos when it doesn’t allow me to post! ✓ Good but a few changesHi, I have been using this app for some time and I have some things that I would love to change. Private accounts: it would be fantastic for private accounts to come in place. Only your followers can see what you post. Then everything would be slightly less public. Ask to follow: maybe in place for private accounts could be a ask to follow. This is where the user would say yes or no if a person wanted to follow them, which would most likely be siblings friends and maybe parents/children/partner. ✓ This app is absolutely amazing. There's just one thing...I don't know if this is just a glitch with my phone or a problem with the app. If it's a glitch in my phone? Ignore this. But if it's a problem with the app please fix. Whenever I try to watch anyone else's or my video it just freezes. Like it had to buffer every second. Well, there are some work around some of the limitations of the app, it would be better if they had more features added to it, including better vocal support, more instruments support and the ability to natively be able to add more than nine tracks to each song. I think this is a classic case of someone building an app years ago and then, other than making necessary patches, not doing anything with it. Sad, because it could do so much more..Version: 4.37

✓ Great app! I have a suggestion though…Ok, so I love this app. I’m a music lover anyway, but I love being able to do all the parts at once! I only have one complaint. It’s really more of a suggestion. I like that you can post privately or publicly, don’t change that. It’s nice to be able to only send the videos to friends. But I think there should be a third option. There should be an option to let only your followers see the video. My thing is it’s great to send links to people who don’t have the app, but if they have the app and are following you you shouldn’t have to send them a link. ✓ Great app to collaborate!Just stated using the app about 3 weeks ago and I think it’s an excellent app to collaborate with band mates or other musicians. I’ve heard a handful of people talking about sync issues but I’ve noticed if you use the wired headphones with the built in mic there’s no issues. But if you use Bluetooth headphones or earbuds thats where you may have a latency (sync) problem. Definitely worth paying the yearly subscription if you plan on using the app more than just a few times..Version: 4.2

It’s been a real joy for me to add a bass track to a variety of artists- young and old, beginners to advanced, rockers to country to pop and R&B. Easy to use and a free version if all you want to do is add to others’ work, which is what I do. ✓ I wish there was an option for no borders!This app is a great tool for recording multiple lines at once. However, I have a few issues with it: 1. You are forced to have a border- it would be great if I could record videos without a border separating them (basically just no lines in between them) 2. You can't trim videos from the beginning- you can only trim videos from the end, so if (for example) you have a harmony coming in later, you can't cut out the beginning section where you're waiting for your line to come in and you're just awkwardly looking at the camera 3. I do have another feature I would like to see added (assuming it isn’t already in there somewhere): Provide for latency correction by allowing you to adjust the time offsets for individual video tracks. I found this app and so many people like me that are really inspiring to watch and listen to. The app in itself is really good with no major kinks apart from the lack of microphone. For me this is not really a problem as I have several pairs of headphones, but I can see why it could be for other people. The creation of the music is good, it has lots of different formats, fonts and SFX and it is hard to fault for that. ✓ Could be great, but.......I’ve made a few videos with this app now and I really like it. The is a HUGE but however.... Whilst the app is easy to use and enjoyable, it’s biggest weakness is the lack of microphone. You need to use your headphones and play to the click track which is great for staying in time and I like that you can play along to whatever you have already recorded. But if you want decent sound quality you need to use a good quality microphone. You can get good quality microphones to plug into iPhones and iPads, but there isn’t a way to plug both a microphone and headphones into your iPhone/iPad and use this app. I tried using Bluetooth earbuds but there is a lag issue and it just doesn’t work. Using a splitter was also no good. This app could be fabulous, but until there is a way to use a microphone and headphones together it will never be great. At best will be a fun toy to mess around with for kids, which maybe is all the developers ever wanted. But if they could fix this issue it would become an even bigger hit and I suspect they would gain significantly more subscribers. Now there’s an incentive for the developers....!.Version: 4.09.2

✓ Great, but no monitor featureThis app is great and allows you to listen to all the tracks you’ve pre-recorded and adjust their levels in the mix, BUT there’s no monitor feature to hear what is currently being recorded through your headphones. If you’re pure acoustic, this isn’t much of a problem. If you’re using a post-mic effects loop before input into the app, this is a major problem... you can’t hear what your post-effects sound is like until after you’ve recorded the whole track. I’m working on a way to use physical splitters to make this happen, but it would be a great software feature to add... the ability to turn on/off a monitor of the track you’re currently recording and adjust its volume relative to the other tracks in the mix..Version: 4.1

The first week, it was working like a charm, but then, after that, the app started crashing during collab uploads, from SMS, into the app. My phone has also been getting really hot, and the battery life seems to be getting much shorter. This is a developer who is now taking advantage of a situation where volunteer groups are just wanting to make music together during this COVID situation . . . until they can come together again. Need to be able to save a project file and open it later for editing. You can only work on one song at a time and not start a new one until willing to forgo access to any changes to current song.
