✓ Indispensable for importing and exporting ocr'd filesI frequently receive scanned PDF's in image format only that I need to markup and comment, which is only fully possible with recognized text. No other PDF scanner app that I have found, despite many having otherwise excellent features, allows you to import PDF files and then export the text recognized files to another app, except for this one. This single app has now made my iPad a true laptop replacement. Thanks for a fantastic, simple to use app that does exactly what it promises..Version: 6.6

✓ Upgrade path doesn’t workAfter purchasing the lifetime upgrade you don’t get anything. In fact you have to claim a refund from Apple and then purchase and download the full version. ✓ Bargain OCRPurchased this for 79p based on the reputation ABBYY have earned over many years with PC scanning software. It is extremely good value for the discounted price! The OCR was word perfect for a sample scan I performed of a book page, despite the curl of the page. For OCR to work, the images of the pages are sent to ABBYY servers, and after a short while (a few seconds for my one page sample) you get the editable text in the format of your choice. Also one suggestion.I tried other apps that claim to do the same thing, but this one best suits my needs for scanning books specifically (it made the pages the straightest out of the 3 apps). Whatever algorithm they are using for book scanning is great. I kind of wish the same algorithm was used for single document scanning as well. Hopefully in the future you will be able to manipulate nodes on a mesh grid for better accuracy instead of just 4 points..Version: 6.9.8

But none of these can measure up to the ABBYY FineReader PDF Pro. It is without peer in the OCR scanning market. I can now do better, and more efficiently, on my iPad what any desktop software can do. I highly recommend this product to anyone needing to convert image to text or convert between a variety of formats.
