OkayIt’s okay.Version: 40.1.0

Don’t buy itSoftware is just mediocre but did not fit my needs. Glitches constantly prevented the automatic downloads to sync from my bank account to my Hurdlr account. Every couple of days it would say my information changed on my bank account and that I needed to log in to fix it. There was nothing to fix because there was nothing that changed on my bank account. All the while it was not downloading the transactions. They said that due to the algorithms, automatic downloads won’t occur until after the transactions are finalized, but yet they never download. Just keeps giving me the error that my bank information changed. What a headache. And hears the kicker……. I’m having to close my shop and I’ve only been a paying customer for less than a month. When I asked them for a refund, I was completely denied and refused a refund. They said I could cancel it but not get a refund. Mind you, they charge you upfront for a full year ($200 for premium) and I haven’t been using it for more than a month. Total lack of regard by the company. They don’t take into consideration factors that are beyond the control of small businesses. They just want your money and don’t want to give it up once they got it..Version: 30.0.0

Great interface, but doesn’t track correctly. Bad at resolving issuesI loved the idea of this app, and it worked great at first, but after a while it stopped tracking my Uber earnings accurately, and intermittently doesn’t track my mileage. I’ve had a support ticket open with support for about the earnings for about two months now, and the only time I hear from them is when I ask for an update, and the response is ‘we’re still looking into it’, which translated from support speak to English is ‘this isn’t important enough for us to deal with unless you make more fuss about it’ (I know this because I used to work in support for a startup that had this exact attitude when it came to escalated support tickets). I’ve cancelled my subscription and will be looking for an alternative..Version: 28.4.2

DisappointedIt does not give accurate addresses which I need for my records. It takes up to .5 of a mile to activate when you start driving. Also it frequently thinks a red light is the end of a trip. So when you are trying to expense a driving log, good luck trying to figure out what client you were working on because you are 3 blocks away and likely on another street by the time it begins. They say you can link the trips but seriously it would be less work to write it down at the time. Trying to recreate the driving record once a month would be impossible to do accurately. If you use the manual option, once again you might as well just write down your start and stop so what good is this app?? It does have some accounting things in it but I am not interested in any of that so this is a complete disappointment. It cannot even get my home address correct, it shows up as an ENTIRELY different street! Seriously y’all need to do better than google timeline (which is more accurate and free by the way) to charge 60 a year :(..Version: 26.1

Taxbot was far superior in all aspectsWell if you can’t beat them then buy them and shut them down. This app has numerous flaws that leave you with a rather painful experience. You are not able to sort new trips based on date, there is no way to view the path of travel on the website, limited features in app so you are required to use both web and app to be semi-efficient. The hurdlr app is a significant step backwards compared to the far superior taxbot app. Then they don’t offer lifetime subscription. You can submit recommendations on features that you’d like to see, but after 2 years there has been no change. UPDATE: What the developer fails to understand is that Taxbot (original app) was far superior in functionality from just the iOS perspective. I submitted multiple recommendations/feedback just to get your app to the level of Taxbot over 2 years ago with no updates since then. Now the developer responds by saying “the web app…” ugh…the developer doesn’t even understand this review is on the iOS store for the iOS app. It’s sad, really. I shouldn’t have to have both the iOS app and website up to manage my business..Version: 40.2.0

Would recomend to a proffesionalGreat app although i would recomend the developers include more fetures such as charitable donations tracking, Canadian pension plan deductionz and EI deductions. Along with a feature to unlock the app with touch ID. Also the tax brackets seem off so i would urge someone to look into that..Version: 25.0

So far it’s okI had really high hopes, based on the reviews, that this app would be perfect for a small business owner in Canada. Sadly most of their features only apply to the USA. If the developers add integrations with Canadian Banks, and Canadian Provinces for taxes, I will change my rating to 5-stars. So disappointing since I would absolutely purchase the subscription if I could access all features..Version: 29.6.0

Overall good but cumbersome reportingOriginal review: Can’t customize reports. Most reports are only available in pdf. For the few reports that are spreadsheets you have to add filters to spreadsheets to enable sort functions. They known about these issues for at least a year and have no plan to rectify. Why they make the spreadsheets in a way where basic sort functions can’t be used without filters makes zero sense. Updated in response to developer response: 1. My original review mentions both the pdf and spreadsheets. The developer is clarifying something I’ve already acknowledged. 2. The statement by the developer “there is a spreadsheet option in each of our report sections, which allows you to customize the report however you’d like” is misleading. You can’t customize the report and then download. The program only allows you to download a spreadsheet with the parameters they have set. Then you have to filter, delete, write formulas, etc to get what you need. Basically a data dump and then you have to wade through it. 3. Notice that they don’t address that the spreadsheets download in a way that doesn’t allow you to use the simple sort format without deleting headers or setting custom filters. They won’t add a customization feature and then export spreadsheets that aren’t easy to customize. 4. They also have known about these issues for over a year and do nothing to address it..Version: 30.0.0

Wasted $80. Horrible Support. ScrewedI’ve never written an App Store review before but this experience was so frustrating that here I am! I paid $7.99 for this app monthly for 11 months so that it would track my Uber income, expenses, and mileage in preparation for tax season. When I signed in to categorize my the information I hadn’t gotten to yet, every single thing from 2018 was gone and inaccessible. I contacted support over a week (who I had to message back to back twice because they were not responding to me) just so they could tell me that nothing was tracked (duh, obviously!). When I requested a refund since the app did literally nothing for me, and since I’m pretty lost now that it’s tax time, the support person Ashleigh, who didn’t reply to my refund request for 3 days until I emailed again, referred me to Apple’s refund page. Apple deemed me ineligible for a refund, so now I’ve lost $80 and all the information I was relying on the app to track. Be wary!.Version: 19.7

Good but could be betterREALLY needs to add CPP calculation for Canadian market. Self-employed CPP is very significant and the fact it’s not being accounted for seems like a huge oversight..Version: 29.8.0

Uber expensesDoes not track Uber expenses properly the GST you pay to Uber is not calculated into your tax credit so your tax GST payable is not accurate..Version: 40.4.0

Very good app with one flawThis app is great and much better than quickbooks but the integration with one of my credit cards is not working properly. I’ve spoke with support and it has been 2 weeks without resolve. The issue is it archives all my transactions so I have to manually restore them one by one. Other than that, the mileage tracking is top notch and I like the layout and snappy interface..Version: 29.9.1

Unbelievable!Just started using this this app 4 days ago. Changed all the settings after purchasing the program as recommended to track ALWAYS. My first trip registered fine. Was using my bicycle for my first day of work after driving 850 miles to get to it. At the end of the day I realized that it was recording everything! Didn’t want to track my bike mileage. That’s good I guess. Notifications showed over 170 trips. At least that worked. Also been driving over 2 hours one direction for the last two days. Over an hour the day before. Today I finally broke down to categorize these trips AND they were not there! Not sure where all those bike trips went. I cleared all my notifications this morning, including everything not related to HURDLR. Maybe that’s a bug. Not sure, but I’m done anyway. Only my first trip which was registered even though it showed up as 3 or 4 because when you stop for gas or a SHORT break it stops and starts a new trip. This app actually made my life harder. WOW! Canceling my trial/purchase immediately!.Version: 25.0

Mileage tracking needs improvementI had been using Taxbot for my mileage tracking, but now that it has switched to Hurdlr, I am missing some functionality. First off, I would like to be able to designate a trip as round-trip. Because sometimes I make a few personal stops on my way home from a longer trip. Secondly, I miss how the mileage tracker synced with my calendar, so that the app automatically noted what the trip was for. Thirdly, the app only shows the starting point and ending point instead of the path taken. And usually that isn't accurate, I have a hard time recalling what the trip was for. And lastly, often times the app breaks my trips up into 2-3 for some reason. Perhaps I was in traffic, or at a stop light. All of that combined makes Hurdlr clunky and less user friendly than Taxbot was. All that said, the expense tracking works very well. Good job there Hurdlr..Version: 27.4

Never written an app review before, but...So I downloaded the free version of this app and LOVED the mileage and expense tracker. Everything worked seamlessly and the automatic tracking, especially for mileage, was enormously helpful for tax purposes. I liked it enough that after the free trial ran out, I purchased a monthly subscription for premium. As soon as I purchased the premium subscription, Hurdlr suddenly was unable to connect with my bank account. In other words, though it had been automatically tracking and logging my expenses, now it won’t connect to my bank account and will not track or log anything. That alone is aggravating but what’s most frustrating is that I have been trying to resolve this problem for close to two weeks with Hurdlr customer service. No dice. I keep being told that my case is being escalated and they ask me to try to connect my account repeatedly with no difference in outcome. In other words, I’m paying for a subscription that I can’t use and that customer service can’t help with. It’s inexplicable given that the thing worked flawlessly when I had the free trial. Classic bait and switch, it seems. UPDATE: Well after two weeks I finally just updated the app (something customer service never recommended) and voila, it works again. Notwithstanding that my issue was fixed, it’s astounding that customer service was borderline useless even though I’m ostensibly paying for that support..Version: 21.3

Not freeAuto tracking feature isn’t free..Version: 27.4

Does not track drives accuratelyAt this time I am not happy with the auto-logging feature when I KNOW at least two other apps that does it perfectly. I was forced to move to this app after paying for the TaxBot app because I was looking to combine auto-detection/logging my drives and storing my receipts in one app. In reviewing my drives in this app, this app is sometimes up to a 1/2 mile off. I have drives that were not detected until I was almost at the end of my street. I live .6 miles from my stop sign. Over time, those small misses add up and is not valuable to me! And trying to manually fix the drive does not change the distance and the possible deduction amount. I’ll be more than happy to change my rating if this is important enough to be fixed. If not, I’ll be going back to my two separate apps for my receipt collection and mileage logging..Version: 27.6

Glitches, Faulty Software Very FrustratingI have been using this tax receipt software for nearly one year. I have found far too many glitches, along with missing, incomplete, and erroneous data on expenses with linked financial institutions. Hurdlr did send out a notice on one of these being CapitalOne, but I discovered numerous discrepancies with another one of my major financial institutions. As a result, I have to manually enter missing receipts which first required me to cross reference 12 months of bank statements from EACH of the 3 financial companies with the expenses appearing in my Hurdlr account. I have found numerous missing, legitimate expenses. This has taken an inordinate amount of time of which I do not have. It feels like I am constantly in the Chat Room trying to get answers and reporting new glitches all the while I still wait, 2 weeks out and counting, for a response from Tech Support. I would not recommend this program despite a recommendation from NAR..Version: 23.6

Nothing differentThis is the exact same as every other basic small business accounting program. It for use by anyone with multiple lines of more complex income. I have to track mileage for two different businesses as well as an employee. Uber, Consulting and employment. This app does not allow you to differentiate between multiple categories of expenses. It also does not allow you to report all your business related expenses such as vehicle expenses and assign them the adequate percentage to the respective expense. Example: On a tank of gas that cost me $47.93 I drove a total of 578 kms. 87 km for Uber, 93 kms for my employment, 27 kms for consulting and the remaining personal. I cannot assign part of that fuel expense to Uber, part to consulting and part to employment. It’s all strictly business or personal. Anyone who uses their personal vehicle for business knows that all of the vehicle expenses cannot be claimed so it is completely incorrect practice to claim the entire expense as business..Version: 23.4

Completely useless if you don’t payThis app is completely useless if you don’t pay for premium/pro. If you start using the app and pay later, the app just stops tracking you at a certain point which gets you income, expense and taxes numbers that are way off..Version: 26.8

It’s a no for me dawg.I downloaded this app this morning after reading about it. I set it up and I noticed it would not accept my bank. I have US Bank and I even left the app to log in separately to make sure I was entering the password correctly, I was. I tried several times and it wouldn’t take it. Okay, I’ll log my expenses manually then. So I moved on to setting up automatically tracking my drives. The first trip it was perfect. Started once I started and stopped once I stopped. The next trip it didn’t record at all. The third trip it recorded in pieces. It stopped after 2 minutes and 55 seconds. It restarted and stopped after a few more minutes and did that for the duration. While I was not thrilled I would have dealt with the expense portion on my own but the whole reason I tried this app is because of the automatic tracking. I will stick with Stride if I’m going to log everything myself anyways. 🤷🏾‍♀️.Version: 24.0

I love it but you NEED TO ADD GST/PST for CanadaOur accounts hate that we don’t have separate GST PST in the app vs Taxbot. It’s almost a make or break feature. It wouldn’t be that enormous of a task to add this feature for your Canadian customers. I’ll support you for years to come if you add this if not, eventually we will have to move on. That app is pretty good otherwise but the whole point of it is to track your taxes and that’s not happening well for us here. Developers please add this NOW!.Version: 28.6.1
