✓ Mileage trackerHey cool folks at Hurdlr, longtime happy user here — any chance you’d consider offering an automatic mileage tracker only level of subscription with a lower price point? I have not and will not ever use the other stuff in your app, cool as I’m sure it is. Your auto-tracker however is hands-down the best I’ve found (I’ve been using it for a couple years until you made it a paid feature) and I’d be more than happy to pay for it. But currently I’ve switched to a different app that offers mileage-tracking-only for a vastly smaller price tag, and doesn’t make me pay for a bunch of extra stuff I’ll never touch just to get the one thing I DO need. I like the Hurdlr mileage tracker way better and wish I could switch back! But not for $60/year, yikes. Please please please offer a mileage-only tier? Pretty please?.Version: 18.2
✓ I like the app as a whole, just a few suggestionsI’m not an independent contractor and I do not own my own business. I drive for a company with a company fleet vehicle. I am allowed to use this vehicle for personal use, but I must keep track of the personal miles and report them monthly. Which is why I have your app. I can tag drives as personal or business. That said, there are a few improvements I wish you could make. It would be nice if you could come out with a fleet version of your app for those of us who don’t give a flip about the tax options. We’d still need the auto-tracker. Also, to have the ability to tag a drive as part business and part personal would be great too. I have a certain number of miles that count as commute miles that I have to log as personal. I don’t always remember to turn the auto-tracker off then back in again to reset it to a different drive. Also, I would love to be able to add a rule manually. Right now it only auto-suggests. There are two drives I do all the time that never come up for auto-suggest. And I can’t add them. That’s a bit on the annoying side. Other than those it’s a solid app..Version: 26.0
✓ Awesome App!!This app is so easy to use. With other tracking apps I used to forget to turn them on our turn them off. With Hurdlr's auto tracking all I have to do is start driving and Hurdlr does the rest. Also, linking my income and expense accounts makes adding transactions super easy. Once again, I don't even have to think about it. Doing my 2017 taxes was kind of headache without Hurdlr. I wish I had found this app sooner! Filing in 2018 is going to be a breeze! I also had to use their customer service when my wife needed to download the app and we wanted to share an account. Having the ability to directly chat with them right in the app was extremely helpful. They were very responsive and took care of me right away. ✓ Great app, could be betterI have been using the app for a little over a month now. It has been a great help estimating my taxes for the year, tracking expenses, and tracking miles. I have two problems that prevent me from giving this app a 5-star rating. The first issue is that you can’t just turn on the tracking, you need to rely on the app being open and figuring out that you are moving. I’d say the app is about 95% reliable at doing this when it is open, and about 10% reliable at this task when closed. Typically I remember to open the app so its not a big deal…except when the app crashes in the background and I don’t notice. Having a dedicated on button would be really nice and the fact it doesn’t surprises me. My final issue with the app is its annoying incessant desire to always never be closed. I go in to check on my tax burden and move money in my budget and as soon as I close it I get an annoying pop-up and jingle. Folks, I’m not always working so seriously cut this feature out or make it so I can turn it off separate from other pop-ups. I like knowing when I need to identify payments as business/non-business, but the constant “open us back up for better tracking performance” is just obnoxious..Version: 28.4.0

✓ Brought my business clarity and controlAlthough I’m still using the free first week, I’ll definitely be purchasing the premium year membership. I, painfully, do all of our taxes myself, so this has been a godsend. I love the simplicity of accessibility, swiping right or left for business or personal streamlines the tedious process of going through hundreds or thousands of bank transactions. I enjoy the functionality and minimalism of the app, and the fact that you can request a report and it will be emailed in minutes is great. I had a question for the developers and heard back within 24 hours. Within two days I’ve classified all of our income and expenses and feel more confident than ever approaching tax season. I have a reasonable idea of what we’ll owe this year, which is really invaluable for budgeting. It was either this app or QuickBooks Self Employed, but I will gladly be sticking with Hurdlr..Version: 18.4

✓ Well worth itAs an independent contractor (real estate), I have to manage my own expenses, mileage, taxes, etc. This app is truly an all-in-one. I’m in an industry where structure/organization is key and I’m not naturally very organized. Hurdlr helps me stay on top of these things and honestly takes things off my plate. Link your business accounts and the app will auto-populate any expenses which you can tag and categorize. Super helpful come tax time. I have the paid version which is well worth it. I’ve only needed customer support once, and response was very quick. Especially in today’s market, I’ve been super busy and some of this would have easily slipped my mind. ✓ Useful, easy, good support team!I downloaded and paid for Hurdlr to allow me to run my rental from my I phone. It was working fine until I converted my bank account to business and the bank systems did not play well with Hurdlr. Using only the chat feature Kristen helped me figure out why the error was happening. When it turned put to be beyond their control they were able to teach me a work around. I think they even let me have access early to this new feature. I work crazy hours at many jobs and they were able to pick up on the process of solving my problem at any time over the course of a week. Kristen stayed with me and personally guided me until today when I was able to get the system working again! I really appreciated that. I never started over and explained the problem after the first contact. She just knew. Great job Kristen. I’ll continue to subscribe and use the program. One problem I have with it is that it always has to be on. I would prefer to be asked with a notification if I would like to turn it on. It at times feels invasive and my phone sometimes warns me. I wonder how much data this is using? Also could you make it work with Face ID? It would only open if it saw me. The bank program does this I like it..Version: 25.4

✓ They thought of everything!I just started using the app a couple of days ago, but from what I’ve seen already this app has all of the bases covered for my purposes. I’m a part-time Uber driver and I was looking for something to track miles and income for my taxes. But Hurdlr has way more to offer...things I hadn’t even thought of. And they make it very easy to get all of your information put into the app. I had everything up and running and about two weeks worth of miles, income, and expenses put into the app in almost no time on the first day I installed it. ✓ Very good app! Cheaper and better than competitors!Hurdlr premium does everything that Quickbooks SE does, but better and for half the price. The customer service reps are amazing, so quick to respond and very helpful! I especially like that I don’t have to do ALL my accounting on my phone; they have a web portal. It makes it very easy to track and categorize my expenses every few days so that I don’t get slammed at the end of the year trying to remember what I bought that meal for in March 😄. It imports transactions from my financial institutions and credit cards, and I can track cash transactions by uploading a picture of the receipt. ✓ 2nd reviewI’ve had Hurdlr for a month now and upgraded to premium. I was pretty frustrated at first especially trying to figure out the decimal for entering dollar amounts. The decimal wasn’t highlighted like the numerals. It just looked like a dirt speck on my screen. Fix it so it shows better. But after having to go full time on my side hustle of graphics after losing my 16 year job when it shut down cuz of COVID-19, I had to step up my accounting and mileage big time. This is where Hurdlr made it for me. Easier to keep track off expenses and deposits because I really sucked at keeping paperwork together. The photo option for receipts and expenses sealed the deal for me. No more worries about lost receipts or who or what they are for. It’s worth the premium for what you get. ✓ Perfect for Taxes!As an UBER driver I was recommended to keep track of my expenses and mileage most especially. When I started UBER a friend recommended Hurdlr not knowing of what I really had in my hands until tax day came around. I didn’t know how to use it very much throughout my first six months but I was always helped by the hurdlr Team within 15 minutes of messaging them to help on an area. They would walk me through every step to use the app as best for my purpose. I tracked my miles as I drove, kept receipts saved by taking a picture and saving them in the app as well as my Cloud. When time came to do my taxes the app creates an Excel spreadsheet with different tabs of your expenses, mileage, separated by either Personal or Business. With the totals of amounts at the bottom very well detailed for your tax preparer or Hurdlr can also do your taxes for you. I’ve been very happy to of been recommended this app to track my expenses and mileage and for the fee of 50$ and tax deductible it was worth every penny. ✓ Terrific app for independent contractors with great customer support!I’ve been really impressed with my experience of Hurdlr so far, and quickly upgraded to premium because the time savings of being able to categorize my expenses and income as it comes in, from the comfort of my smartphone, is enormous compared to the old way of digging through my receipts and bank statements come tax season. I’ve also been thrilled by the responsive and wonderful customer support I’ve received whenever I’ve encountered an issue or a question. This is by far the best mileage app I’ve tried so far, with a very generous offering of features in the free version. Should you opt for the paid version, this app becomes an absolute powerhouse!! ✓ Tracks location accurately and distinguishes each trip wellI use this app for DoorDash, Grubhub and Instacart in order to track miles, and it recognizes each stop pretty well. I don’t think any of these apps are completely perfect (for example if I run up to a door in 10 seconds and leave). But it captures nearly every trip, and I’m very happy with the results. Super easy to swipe left or right to categorize trips. I picked this app for it’s ability to distinguish individual trips after researching reviews online. (I used to spend hours making my own spreadsheet with Google timelines, but that’s a past I’d never relive!). Also, it estimates quarterly taxes 😄 I add my expenses to track the tax deductions and the app tracks income from each app that I earn $. I also use this app to track income and expenses from my side private tutoring business. Get yourself one of these types of apps if you don’t have one yet..Version: 26.6

It has unlimited mileage for free and I use the pro version because I need the invoicing and more advanced features but they are easy to use. I have 3 businesses and it is really really the best for me as all three are totally different. I have been able to drop my quickbooks online , my notary invoicing software and a third program. As a side note quickbooks online will not sync with your desktop. Now I do not have to get to the end of the year and attempt to hodgepodge my info together. ✓ Quickbooks quality, without the priceI just recently decided to upgrade to pro, but decision. This software/app is by far the best tracker of finances I have found. I have used premium for years, and just made my own income statements, but going to pro allows me to run reports automatically which gives me all my statements. ✓ Good App but Tweaks NeededOverall, a good and useful app - worth the cost. A couple tweaks the developers should make: - allow you to link multiple logins for the same financial institution. Currently, I have 2 credit cards with chase with individual logins for each business, however I can only link the one. - the ability to load transactions for a particular account without having to load transactions for all linked accounts. I recently linked two new business accounts and the transactions did not automatically load. When I go to manually load them, it will prompt me to select when I’d wish to load transactions from but unfortunately it’s for all accounts..Version: 30.2.1

✓ Very Useful App w/ Great Customer ServiceAs a freelancer who traditionally used Google sheets to classify my expenses, I finally decided to make the leap to a more automated system and am very glad I switched over to Hurdlr. I was able to integrate all of my banks and credit cards into the app, including a credit card from a smaller institution that their excellent customer service team helped to facilitate in adding to the platform after I specifically requested it. Then it was just a matter of classifying each expenditure (rather than manually entering things into a spreadsheet) and I was able to then set up cost reports in a variety of formats in order to send to my accountant. I cannot say enough not only about the app, but the customer service as well. It's also extremely easy to navigate. I got the free trial for premium and was excited to try that out. Ended up not being able to link my bank account to the expenses and income but I used the chat option inside the app which is very useful and easy to use and spoke to Ashleigh who actually reached out to my bank to fix the problem. It took 7 days but she got back to me and said the problem was solved. By this time my trial ended and I could no longer use the auto expense and auto income tracker but she extended my trial so I could still try these out! Looking for a resolution to a problem with no answers from support to only learn the solution wasn’t existent. Thankfully that led me to Hurdlr. In the reports section and looking at the break down of business expenses I would like the ability to click on each category to see an itemized break down of each transaction. This being said because I have a few categories that have expenses in them that should not be there. It would be helpful to be able to edit these then and there. ✓ Exactly What I NeedAfter trying out different accounting/tracking apps, I found that Hurdlr best suited my needs and ended up buying the premium version after the trial expired. I needed something simple where I could track my mileage, income, and expenses. I also needed something that provides me the necessary calculations and reports for quarterly estimated taxes and for when tax season comes around. As someone who is also paid hourly, it has a hidden time tracker tool. A customer service chat is built into the app. I had recently requested help and they got back to me within 5 minutes. They were also helpful in solving a specific classification question I had. With a simple interface, Hurdlr does everything I need it to for a sole proprietorship. I can’t speak for its effectiveness with larger businesses but with the free trial that doesn’t require a credit card to begin, I think its worth a shot..Version: 22.8
✓ Love this app! Great for self employed!You can use it free! They have a premium but if you don’t mind doing everything manually it works great! My only complaint is they don’t have a search option. I’m a hairstylist and like to be able to look up past clients on my I come section and there’s no easy way to do it, except scroll or somehow find out when they were in to scroll to that date. Besides that it works great! Can track mileage and determines how much you would get for a tax deduction for it. Can track your business expenses and put them in categories. And can track income and you can put your clients right in there. Also has the capability of estimating how much you’ll have to pay in taxes! And has reports you can look at for time periods you want to select for income and expenses, and those are all broken down for you too. Overall, very happy with the app! ✓ Great App - Hope to upgrade soonI would live to see a data cache option for entering cash-inflow items and having them calculate offline in the free version. I am a bit uncomfortable w putting personal finance info into 3rd party cloud storage for privacy and security reasons so am not quite there yet for the upgrade version even if my budget was ready, which it is not quite yet. But I am enjoying using the app to have more convenient to use than a spreadsheet. I hope the developers continue to focus on security and privacy while making more data processing available on the free version (while holding back tax data functions for paid) for the slow adopters like myself. I've worked w tech over 45 yrs but am conservative w privacy & security! But I like & trust this app so far more than Intuit quickbooks !! I may never move off Excel files i can secure offline but this app will help store business spreadsheet data conveniently on the fly and estimated tax payment display is also a big plus for the free version! ✓ Amazing app!I evaluated several apps like Hurdlr and found this app to the best for my sub s corporation with one employee. It does a great job of tracking mileage, downloads expenses from my business credit card ( and classifies the expenses) and has a variety of reporting options - the most important report to me is to be able to print expenses by category. Several apps I looked at don’t have that capacity and this will be invaluable at tax time - no more sifting through a years worth of receipts and separating into stacks for car repairs, hotels, meals, etc and then having to add them up with a calculator so my accountant can prepare my tax return - Hurdlr does all the calculations for you. It will also send you monthly reports automatically. I can log into their website on my iMac and look data and print reports, etc. Try it out - doesn’t get any better than this for $60/year..Version: 23.4

✓ Not perfect, but still greatThis app is great and the price is fantastic. There are a few glitches I would like to see worked out. The mileage tracking starting and ending addresses are not always accurate so I am missing out on mileage (minimal, but still). Then when I edit a starting or ending address to correct it, the number of miles does not adjust. So, that’s not good. I also wish we could link our mileage trips to our expenses, like could be done on Taxbot. Since we cannot, I have to also note on my tracked mileage what the drive was for (seems like double steps). Besides a few things, the app is super handy for staying organized and on top of things as they happen. Also the customer service chat responds promptly. After attempting to navigate Stripe and QuickBooks for accounting with very little confidence, I stumbled upon Hurdlr. This app has everything that I need for managing a solo practice including integrations for different income streams, estimating tax obligations, and customized reports for a bird’s-eye view of my practice and my financial direction. ✓ Great appI downloaded this app late last year and waited to review it until I spent some time with it. This year, I began using it as my sole income/expense tracker for my laundromats and rental properties. It’s perfect for my needs. In years past, I have lost numerous receipts due to my rushing around and carelessness and, as a result, paid more than I owe in taxes. This app has resolved that issue completely. I have my receipts entered in the app as I leave the store and never have to worry about losing them again. ✓ Mileage tracking is such a BONUSI love this app. Since downloading this in the 4th quarter of 2019, I spent some time getting everything inputted and now I am completely on track with my expenses for my business and the background mileage tracker has been a welcome feature as I always forgot to turn it on with other apps. ✓ Customer service is on point!I use Square for the transactions that come into my business. I bought this app because it said that it works with Square and I wanted it to be as easy as possible. I was loving the app but I did notice that the square integrations were a little bit off (lower) than what my actual sales were that day. I couldn’t figure out why it was doing that but all they had to do was ask customer service what was going on to see if they could help me. It turns out when you integrate with Square, Hurdlr will only track the card swipes but not the cash transactions. So all I had to do to fix a problem was unlink square and I just use my bank account and any deposit that square sent to my bank account popped up on the app so it works just the same! Ashleigh from Customer Service helped me fix the problem and now this app is perfect for my business! 10/10 would recommend..Version: 19.8

✓ New Expense Receipt FeatureI’ve been a very happy user of Hurdlr for several years. What I appreciate most is their willingness to listen to their users and incorporate great features and enhancements to their app that everyone can benefit from. The ability to add receipts in advance while waiting for an expense to hit and then matching it up at that time is fantastic. This way as soon as you get your receipt you can add it to the system and not risk the chance of losing or misplacing it. I’m very happy with Hurdlr and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to track their expenses, mileage, and income. ✓ An amazing app with an amazing team!Being self employed, I needed something that could track my earnings and expenditures for tax related reasons. Nothing’s more stressful than calculating these sort of numbers last minute before taxes are due. I found Hurdlr on the App Store and am honestly surprised at how excellent the application is. Hurdlr allows you to attach your bank, PayPal, etc to it, and as you generate income through one of those accounts, Hurdlr picks up on it, and allows you to classify that income in terms of business income, or personal income. Hurdlr also calculates the estimated tax you owe on your self employment income which takes into account mileage deduction and expenditure deductions. ✓ Great for house cleaning businessI was told to purchase quicken for tracking my miles, expenses, and income for side house cleaning business. I have a Mac and it doesn’t come in Mac version for Home and business but online chat with them said primer would work. After purchasing it it turns out it doesn’t track mileage. So I went in search of something else and found this! So happy with this so far as it tracks everything I need it to on the free version. This is only a side job otherwise I’d seriously consider the paid auto tracking version if I did it full time. So glad I found this as it saves me so much hassle and I’ll be ready for tax time without having to cram at the last minute to get it all put together. It’s a life saver..Version: 17.0

✓ Don’t rename your businesses....beware.Awesome, awesome app. But buggy in the sense of renaming your business - it kind of holds on to the old one and associated clients. Even after you delete them as well. Putting in a new business and starting fresh doesn’t work either, because it hangs when you try to change the old business and client to a new one in an associated task such as a mileage trip, etc. Update: the Hurdlr team has fantastic customer support and is working on this issue via chatting with them inside the app. Updating to 4 stars due to fantastic customer support. Differences between Hurdlr and Taxbot: Hurdlr had a MUCH nicer interface. Hurdlr estimates quarterly and annual tax payments (Taxbot does not). Taxbot attaches PDFs of captured receipts to reports (Hurdlr provides reports in spreadsheet form, and images of receipts are linked with a web URL). You can upload receipts early (before your bank account shows them) in Taxbot and it will auto match the receipt and transaction. In Hurdlr you’ll need to leave the receipt in your camera roll for a day or two until the transaction shows up. Combined these two would be the perfect app!.Version: 19.9
✓ Exceptional Product & Customer ServiceI couldn’t speak more highly of this app and its customer service! I’ve been a user for almost two years and recently lost my phone. I unfortunately and absentmindedly never created an actual account and was always accessing the account as a guest user. When I set up my new phone, I no longer had access to all of my stored mileage for the last year and was in a panic once I realized I had lost all of this data as tax season approaches. I reached out to the customer support team and worked with Lizzie who was absolutely INCREDIBLE!! She made every suggestion imaginable under the sun to help me remember the email address I originally used to sign up, as well as the date. I wouldn’t have been able to gain access to all my information without her tireless effort. ✓ Love this!I used to use Stride but would often forget to start and end my trips when tracking mileage. Plus it was always a hassle to stay on top of adding my purchases. A buddy turned me on to Hurdlr and I couldn’t be happier. I signed up for the premium version immediately because the convenience it offers is well worth it for the time I save. It was easy to link my business account and so simple to swipe left or right for personal or business as purchases or income come in. But my favorite is the automatic start and end to trips for mileage tracking. Once the app senses that you’re moving in a vehicle, it begins the ride and stops it when you stop. Then, you get a notification and can swipe left for personal or right for business. Super easy!
