✓ Some done out appThey’ve banned me twice. The last time they banned me was for being a fake account but that was because my face picture wasn’t my first picture? Just because I rearranged my pictures doesn’t mean I’m fake but clearly that’s a concept which is too hard to understand for the moderators of minder. I got banned for inappropriate or offensive behaviour but I’ve been receiving inappropriate/offensive comments and have only been responding to them. Sounds like minder has a huge problem where the people running it are too incompetent to do it properly. Stick to tinder guys this app is trash.Version: 3.1.0
✓ People ruin the app - ludicrous expectationsAs a south Asian looking for a serious relationship, the kinds of demands and expectations I encounter are absolutely ridiculous and straight up just unrealistic. I’ll list some of the most common things you’ll see on female profiles here: - Family orientated/family is everything (god just be independent? Not saying ditch family but marriage life should be OUR life) - live in some garbage place and don’t wanna relocate - Have to pray 5x a day (why does it matter how much I pray?? You pray if you want to) - after specific castes (aka racists) - bio that’s empty - must be willing to meet parents within 2 working days (lol) - have to “help each other with deen” like that’s the fundamental aspect of marriage or something (this one is okay but again does it rly matter?) Just sick of this lol. People ask me why I’m white washed and this is exactly why. South Asian girls have no culture or independence to them based on the majority of my experiences. ✓ Most profiles seem either fake or people are not serious.Let’s be honest here, where there is a social media/dating apps, there will always be room for spam or fake accounts, these apps seem to be a bit more than other social media apps. Perhaps the app developers are trying to make it look like millions of people use it every day and that probably is not the case. I’ve used this app for many years now and many accounts has always seemed a bit weird looking, not the pictures, I’m talking about how some of the accounts/profiles are structured or created. Most seem like they’re either fake, or most people who use it are either not seriously interested in getting married and trying to just spend time here when they’re bored, or they’re just promoting their Instagram or Snapchat accounts, now days could be promoting their TikTok accounts. The free version of the app gives you about 90-95% LESS features than the paid version, which means you definitely have to pay to even be in the game, NOT WORTH PAYING MONEY!! I would not waste a single dime on these apps, but it’s up to you to decide that. Also, there’s very little Islamic values/deen priorities going on here, so if you are looking for someone into Islam and Deen, you are better off relying on your mom arranging an arrange marriage for you !!.Version: 9.4.6

✓ Disappointed - people should be vetted since this app is for marriageIt is absolutely frustrating to go "out there " and still have difficulties meaning people that are serious. Most of the men here and I believe in other Muslim match apps are only looking to date around . They are never honest in their profile, take for example this guy that had never married and no kids on his profile only to find out after multiple conversations that he has a 10 year old. And a few others that were absolutely inappropriate and creepy. ✓ Unsafe and UnfairThey do not take sexual harassment (or anti-black racism)on the app seriously and continue to let perverts and dangerous people use their app despite constant reporting. Also, I was off the app for a month traveling and got back to my account being rejected because of someone who endorsed me as ‘ghosting’. I have never ghosted someone. If some man is giving very little effort in the conversation or making me feel unsafe, I will not respond right away. To punish a woman for that is so ridiculous. They rejected me account because Of it. I just went ahead and deleted and will never use this again. Also, as a black woman, the majority of men were incredibly racist and degrading to me once they find out I’m black (I pass for non black). Instead of penalizing women’s autonomy of choosing who to respond to, they should take issues of racism and sexual harassment more seriously as that is a more real threat to mental health as well as physical health than ‘ghosting’. ✓ I have blocked from using Salams Witt no apparent reason!I have been a golden member with Salams for over a year & a half ! But all of a sudden I was blocked from using it !! I have been contacting them for more than 2 weeks with no reply to my issue ! If someone reported me for not giving my number ( which might be the case ) then at least answer my messages and clarify what’s happened , at least give me a valid reason for blocking me from using the app ! ✓ Poor serviceI tried several times to get in touch to ensure my profile was deactivated/deleted as I was uneasy about my pictures being on an app, despite several attempts to contact for support was ignored. For all i know its still active. Over all did not enjoy the experience. You have to pay to keep your pics private and even then the blur is so poor you can still make out the face. Contacted salams support who have been very u helpful and told me to go via Apple to request a refund as salams don’t give refunds. ✓ Not Niqabi FriendlyI’m new to Islam and wanted to meet more muslims through this app, especially with a busy schedule it’s convenient to have the ability to talk with other Muslims online. However, my profile was continuously rejected because I wasn’t showing my face. For religious reasons, I choose not to show my face to unrelated men. I am uncomfortable posting my face online because I don’t know who will see it. I ended up getting permanently banned because I refused to show my face. And when I tried contacting support after my ban they completely ignored me. Harsh truth: 90% of users are of desi decent(nothing wrong with desi people). Issue is that most of the users want to match someone who is of Arab origin (not sure why). This is coming from someone who has high match volume. If you think you’re gonna find the same quality people you’d otherwise meet from mutual friends, family, you’re simply wrong. The app is functional for the most part. But many of the users have bad intentions. ✓ Minder VeteranThis app is male-centric. It is fill with creeper men who send inappropriate messages. When one does not reply, they report your profile to app admin. Without an investigation and any warning the admin will “ban and block” you. This has happened to me as a paying Premium member, as well as a member without paid subscription. In addition. I was stalked for 2 months by a match who i was in touch with off the app for 5 days before blocking him. He contacted me from multiple sims after the initial block, and then 3 weeks later called me from a local landline until i picked up to tell me he was in my city. I escalated this issue to Minder admin. They did nothing, their reply was that the profile he had on their app seemed “normal” and that there was nothing that they could do. In the months to follow i saw this persons profile on the app 3 times. Please, if you are sincerely looking for a muslim spouse consider MuzzMatch. ✓ FrustratedI’ve downloaded and redownloaded this app so many times hoping for different results, but nothing. I’ve met with two guys off this app and was essentially ghosted both times (not the app’s fault and certainly not mine). Here’s where the app itself can improve. If you’re going to keep the swipe limit for non-premium users, at least let them be able to choose what nationality they’d prefer come up. I’ve swiped left of so many of the allotted 250 swipes because the men aren’t middle eastern (which is what I prefer for cultural relatability reasons). Also, for those who have signed up for premium (as I have), it’s a real blow to the ego when you see who has unmatched you and what time. Make the unmatching feature more anonymous. The screening process is also not the best. I’ve seen at least four guys who have 2 profiles running at the same time. I will say, I do like how each profile tells you if the person is active and responsive. It’s disappointing in that almost everyone I want to swipe right on is not active of responsive, but it’s a nice feature, nonetheless. That’s my two cents. ✓ Need new filters!Although I liked new features such as personality types, it would helpful to be able to filter by personality type and other things such as love languages or even if they are gold/platinum/etc. members. For some people who take personality types, we have an idea of who we might me compatible with and could be a good place to start. It’s good to have in mind when going through profiles and have more nuanced filters that can inshallah help us find a spouse. If we already paying, I would like to narrow down my pool by people that might be more compatible! Also please consider a ranking feature (for self) where we can sort through matches and profiles to help us categorize profiles we like and interested in. Having a long list of swipes makes it hard to figure out what we would like and potential people we would like to match with. I feel like the telegram feature doesn’t really work and I would like to find/match with people who are also active and actively looking for someone. This is why I mostly swipe on other people who are also playing for gold/platinum/etc. since it shows there more likely to be on the app. Overall, I know there’s people who are serious about marriage and people always saying they can’t seem to find serious/active people, so a feature where we can connect with others who are more active would be helpful, especially since we’re paying a lot to have more features!!!.Version: 4.22.0
✓ Banned hijabi due to profile verification processWas new to this app and excited to try it out, I recently reverted so I don’t have many photos in the hijab but I do have mirror selfies which slightly cover my face. I uploaded 3 photos covering my face (one with half niqab as my profile and the other with my phone slightly) and one full face hijab selfie, at first the covered photo was my profile head, which I didn’t know you couldn’t have for your first photo (you should have seen it though it was a beautiful photo), I did amend this by putting the full face as my 1st profile picture and I submitted it for approval again. I was intending on uploading 2 more full face photos with the hijab, but considering this is a Muslim app I didn’t consider that I’d be PERMANENTLY BANNED for covering my face..Version: 4.32.0

✓ Cash grabAs someone who gets tons of matches, let me tell you how poorly the app is designed. Firstly, if you’re not a premium user you’ll most likely find yourself swiping on 100s of accounts that haven’t been active for months, it even displays that. However, since there is no way to filter these people, you end up wasting swipes. Even after you get premium, you still have to swipe over an absurd amount of people who just haven’t used the app in months which is ultimately a waste of money/time . The distance settings on this app are also ridiculous. There is no reason to have such wide distances. I don’t know why the national distance includes Canada its a separate freaking country. The more likely reason why distance settings are so broad, is because the actual ACTIVE people who use this app are very small, otherwise everyone would run out of profiles to swipe on. That’s why they inflate numbers with inactive users. Lastly, I don’t understand why I have to fill out every single dumb thing on the profile, make everything optional. ✓ First ImpressionsDay one of using the app I’ve noticed it’s super glitchy. Took me quite a few attempts to write my profile because it wouldn’t save at times and sometimes just freeze up. Other times I would finish typing several paragraphs saving it and going back to find nothing was ever saved. So after finishing up my profile finally I went in to the search option to find some potential matches. It’s got the industry standard swipe left/heart or heart react vs X. So you can only filter your search for free based on age, distance or faith sect. All the other filters are a premium option. So once someone likes your profile, you can’t see who they are until you upgrade to a premium option. At least some of the other apps only charge for certain things like messaging after you receive several free messages. I’m not against paying for a good service but for the love of god give me something to work with. 1: glitchy app 2: not many filters offered for free 3: can’t see who wants to chat with you. All in an all I’m not impressed with the app and not sold to upgrade. ✓ Deceiving appThe biggest issue with this app is you won’t match with barely anyone unless you pay the full subscription. You will notice that once you pay, the “Liked me” will show matches that liked you even though they never popped up in your match feed to begin with. So don’t waste your time downloading this then swiping right unless you are willing to pay. Even then the match rate algorithm is hacked to show your profile to only 5-10% of the people you swipe on, similar to how Tinder does it. You can always test this out with friends and see how one of your profile will never show to the other. Another issue is although this app used to be very glitchy and they did fix some of that, many messages still don’t send and you can also test this feature out with a friend. You are supposed to get matches in real time, but apparently there was a backlog of more than 3 months for no reason and i lost out on some great matches. Every time i match with someone new and I message them the app crashes. Often times when i have new matches, i swipe left they still are in my queue and i have to swipe left 2-3 times on them to finally get them out of my match queue. The queue doesn’t automatically refresh, i have to go in a random chat i already started and then go back to the messages page to have the queue refresh. On top of all that there are a number of fake profiles and married men with profiles. I have personally reported maybe a dozen fake profiles in the last few weeks. I can’t tell you how many dates I’ve gone on for them they just got out of a relationship. App could be better as well. A lot of bots, it’s gotten expensive, and a lot of inactive profiles. I think they should enable a system that gets rid of profiles who haven’t been active in two weeks or more. It’s annoying to sit there and like someone’s profile to not even know the last time they’ve even been on that app. Better than most other apps but has gone downhill over the years..Version: 4.16.1
✓ Not free anymoreSalaams now chooses to delete your profile if you don't pay. They will either give you the option to upgrade or delete profile. If someone swipes right on you and you’re not a paid member you either have the option to “skip” that person or unlike them, whilst their photo is hidden. So I don’t even know if it’s worth upgrading. I’m not against them making this app a pay to use bases but some of these tactics are extremely shady and makes me questions their overall business practices. Call me insane but I would like to have a free version that I can periodically check in and if someone interesting comes along I have the option to upgrade. There aren’t allot of women on here a steady stream of left swipes for a few weeks and you’ll will run out of everyone. As for the quality of the women that’s not the developers fault they can’t chose who signs up. The app crashes constantly and is just plain ridiculous.
