✓ Don’t bother with this gameDon’t be fooled by these positive reviews, this game has become a shadow of its former self. The gameplay is broken, regularly crashing and littered with issues that cost content, scopely will refuse to reimburse content. If scopely see fit they will remove content from your account and there noting you can do about it, such as the Andrea fiasco. Regularly scopely will render any content you have useless by introducing constant op characters available if you have thousands to spend. The chance ratio is 0.2%... every aspect of this game is on a chance bag. The gameplay is rigged to ensure maximum spending is required to compete. This is the epitome of pay to win. Every aspect of the game costs huge money if you want to keep up with it. The in game support is beyond a joke, they give generic cut and paste answers, rarely help and are sarcastic and taunting. Unless you’re willing to pump in literally $1000 of dollars into this game to compete with the best and succeed, then just forget playing. They have 2 or 3 “level up” events in this game a week alone sometimes, and the cost for a “trainer pack” with enough trainers to get the score you need to finish is $100 and that’s just for one level up. This doesn’t include coin offers , and all the event offers that are almost always pay to win. The success numbers for crafting weapons and pulling characters to use are also lies. it’s painfully apparent that this game is made for the filthy rich. The casino aspect of it all is also hilarious, since even on most offers youre never guaranteed to actually get what you pay for. ✓ Money grab, developers don’t care.Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool game, lots of fun... if you can ignore the stupidly overpriced ‘special offers’ and coins that could be used to make the game a lot less grindy... a lot. In all aspects of upgrading the town, you can only upgrade one at a time. And if you run into some trouble e.g: tech trouble, purchases not coming through, missing features, basically anything happening that shouldn’t happen... do not even hope to count on the scopely... they don’t care about you, all they care about is money. I subscribe to the free trial of the survivors club but was instantly charged $40!!!! I begged for a refund for over a week. They repeated the entire time that they couldn’t issue a refund as I had “already received the benefit of the free trial” ... I changed my phone recently and requested that my previous account be transferred, problem is I don’t have Facebook to link my account for easy retrieval. They claimed to be able to do it manually, I gave them all the information they requested but then they demanded a receipt of an in app purchase to verify the account was mine. I’ve never made an in app purchase so this was impossible, I inform them of this and their response was along the lines of ‘that’s your problem mate jog on you can’t have your account back’. So 4 years of work to build up my account and because I don’t use Facebook or buy in app purchases I don’t deserve to have my account back. Absolutely disgusted with how I’ve been treated by customer support and heartbroken I lost my account and by extension some good friends I’d made in the 4 years Ive been playing. ✓ It’s improvingA few years back I gave this game a 1 star star rating because of how difficult it was to get good characters in this game. The only way you were able to get what you want was with either years and years of patience or you buy it with expensive in-game gold for a 1% chance to get something good. Recently they have added a few ways to get the new s class characters a little bit easier. For example: the new s class willie. Through out the event you can collect rubix cubes in which you can use to redeem your 5 star willies, ascend them, and then convert to s class. It took about 3 weeks but it was pretty much a guarantee that you’d get one as long as you played everyday and collected your free daily rewards. No money required. Now that is much better. Honestly, if they continue to do that, this game will surely be liked more. I mean yeah everyone will soon get all the new characters and soon won’t be as fun, but that’s when strategizing comes into play and weapons. I liked the fact of grind for the new s class willie. ✓ Sub par game with awful communityWhile this game is a walking dead spin off of similar games to the Star Wars galaxy of heroes, DCs legends, and the marvel one with an “assemble squad” gameplay mechanic, it does it in a much worse fashion. While in the other games there is a way to make most if not all toons viable this game locks what can be made into end game material behind chance draws (see ascendables). And while it does have its redeeming qualities at times, the main problem this game faces is its lack of control over the community. They claim there is a system to deal with the behaviors but this game is plagued by hackers and many people who have the manners of a middle schooler trying to act cool to his friends.
