MAVIS - Pro Camera for Positive User Reviews

The best app, but it has an issue on iPhone 8I bought it when I had the iPhone 5s and the stabilization was amazing. But now I have upgraded to a iPhone 8 that is suppose to have a best camera and optical stabilization, but I haven’t seen any better result. In fact, it is worst. Hope have an update soon please. Thanks..Version: 3.0.1

MavisLove. Mavis. Video. Camera 🎥. It’s. The. Best. Filming app.Version: 4.0

Needs digital zoomAnd it's the complete package. I find it strange it doesn't have digital zoom, since it seems to do everything else extremely well. I'm using an iPhone 6 so I don't get 2x zoom ( well none do other than the 7 pro ) and there are situations I would like to get that little bit closer without having to move the tripod. ( I can live with the lose in quality ) Fi**ic Pro has a good implementation for digital zoom..Version: 2.2.3

Incredible broadcast quality camera!I cannot stop using this app. It is super inspiring especially when you have the newest iPhones. Mavis Pro has so much professional control over your shooting. You can choose which microphone source to activate on the phone for directional or omnidirectional audio. For example I can use just the iPhone’s rear microphone with subcardioid pattern for interviews, or even better try an external USB microphone and control its input levels right from the app. My favorite feature is the butter smooth zoom feature. You can zoom in and out by just swiping up or down very gently while filming. It will give you professional results with precise zoom shots! I love it so much. You can have precise control over the video too. In the viewfinder you’ll find focus peaking, false color, expanded focus, zebras, guides, aspect overlays, and lens support for Moment lenses or even the Beastgrip DOF2. The option of setting your white balance is a nice added option also. The video format options are endless. I love having so much control over file size, fps, and overall quality. Up to 100Mbit 4K 60fps. Support for custom timecode options including UltraSync Blue. Control for Zhiyun gimbal Smooth 4 is also included. This app is by far one of my best investments! Totally recommended if you are a video pro and love the ability to shoot broadcast and cinema quality video without any additional gear..Version: 5.3.1

Extremely stable!I have purchased a variety of other Camera Apps but Mavis takes the cake. Mavis never crashes and loads just as fast as Apple’s Camera app. Wish list 1. I wish the focus and exposure targets could be set to work like Filmic Pro’s. 2. Front facing camera even if not all features are available. 3. The ability to shoot with a flat colour profile like Filmic Pro’s log mode. That being said this app is amazing..Version: 3.0.1

Unable to set and lock manual Shutter Speed. That says it allUpdated below on APRIL 1, 2023 The app won’t allow for manual shutter speed locking. There is no much to say. Forget about double the frame rate or sticking to the 180 degree rule. The app locks at 1/33 and that is all you can do. The interface is there for manual adjustments, they just don’t work. Probably developers hasn’t cared to update the app after iOS 16 was released. That also should tell you a lot about the kind of support you are ever gonna get. Zero. You email support, you will never get a reply. Honestly, best you keep looking for another app. Update: with the latest version this has been resolved. Thanks to the developer. I have increased the stars from 1 to 4. The only reason I haven’t scored it with 5 stars is because I wish it would offer flat color spaces, log3 or slog color spaces. Most decent apps allow for this and I feel it is the only thing missing for this app to truly go head to head with any other app out there… If the developer is listening, please…..Version: 6.0.3

Latest update has a crashDouble-tap to raise the lens picker, choose "Triple," crash. Not sure what that selection is for, would love to find out. :).Version: 5.2.0

Really like this app.I would like the implementation of ‘auto-lock WB on record’. For me this feature really supports what iPhones are best for when shooting video - speed! Thanks guys, keep up the good work..Version: 5.5.0

Great for external audioI finally found an inexpensive video recording app that would allow me to input audio from my audio interface (audient id14) - using apple’s camera adapter of course, plus a powered usb hub. The stock camera app on the iphone (xr) only created videos with the left ear audible, while another very popular app crashed each and every time I hit the record button while my audio interface was selected as the input. I can finally record video with the direct quality of audio I’m looking for. Less fuss with post production and syncing..Version: 5.6.2

MavisReally good for making short movies for beginner! I used this app since I have a movie making class and it was AMAZING👍.Version: 5.5.0

The bestThe best camera app in the market I don’t think you can’t compare especially that it’s for a mobile phone the quality is amazing very cinematic!!.Version: 5.5.0

Blown away!Best pro camera app out there. Totally worth it!.Version: 4.0

Mavis AppI love the app. However, call me blind or uninformed, but nowhere does it say how to edit post project, just that it’s where effects are added..Version: 5.4.0

Wonderful FULL PROFESSIONAL camera app!!!I am a 20 year cinematographer and I have worked with various camera systems. I’ve been working with Camera apps for many years and I have to say this is one of the most impressive ones yet. Everything I need to create great shots it’s right here at my fingertips. Great job!!! A few small flaws that I’m sure can be resolved: Stabilization on iPhone 8 Plus is not working. Would LOVE to have a “remote control” app to complement this camera. That would totally be all the way amazing!!!.Version: 2.2.3

Great!I absolutely love everything about this app. It was everything I hoped it would be except the only thing that I want is to be able to zoom in. If you put expanded focus it appears to be zoomed in but when I look on the camera roll, it isn't. That's really the only thing and this app is great!!.Version: 2.2.3

Best iOS video recording app to dateWith full 4:3 sensor support at 4K, this is hands down the best app to record video on iOS. It’s been ten months since an update though - let’s hope it sticks around..Version: 5.5.0

Amazing professional 4K video appReally fantastic interface to see live what's going on with what your recording. Colour temperature in Kelvin, vector scope, zebra stripping, waveform monitor, focus peaking, all really bring professional tools to learn and take great video. Full manual control of all key functions to capture what you want, how you want it. Mavis team are always adding new features so this app is an investment in making motion movies on your iPhone..Version: 2.2

The best hands down !!Easy the best app for mobile film making you can get has nearly everything you need, frame rates are consistent, quality is excellent and using high frame rates play back for slow motion Is silky smooth, the only things I would like to see extra in future updates are.... The support for 150mbps or higher if possible, A log color profile that can be used at normal frame rates plus higher frame rate like 100 or 120fps When using the 35mm dof adapter after I have finished recording would be great if the image saved the right way up instead of upside down as to view back or when moving over to my editing software I have to flip the image back again. Also if possible a remote app. Apart from that this app is generally awesome and works flawlessly, Well done guys keep up the good work and am definitely looking forward to future updates 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.Version: 5.0.5

Almost perfect but better than filmic proAs a filmic pro user I always preferred the interface of Mavis. I decided to take the plunge after realising that all the settings were more accessible for me compared to filmic. With filmic pro it’s fidly to bring up the adjuster rings and you have to click twice to make adjustments but with Mavis it’s always on screen and most settings are adjustable through one click. Secondly. As I use moment filters, the adaptor covers the top corner of the screen so with filmic pro, you can’t see the top of the iso/shutter ring pull. Another good thing is you can control the transparency of the aspect overlay bars which is fabulous. It would have been nice if Mavis gave you the option to crop the recordings according to the aspect overlays like filmic pro. I find the overal user interface tidy and more professional compared to other video apps I’ve used and it resembles a proper video camera monitor..Version: 5.5.0

How pro can you go?So much is packed into this app. I would not have expected to find all of these pro features available on an iPhone app. Keep up the great work!.Version: 2.2.3

Really nice appLet me suggest something. To correspond my icc screen profiles from my pc monitor and ipad and iphone, i need to calibrate them with x-rite measurement geat. Your app would be cool if you could integrate a parameter where i could import icc profile for iphone or an ipad. So, the white points and black points and colors will look the same from the 3 devices screens. X-rite suggest a programer kit to integrate screen profiles import into apps as Mavis. Google it ColorTRUE Aware. Thanks for your helpful app..Version: 5.5.0

The one to beatI’ve found this application far more reliable than FilmicPro and easier to use. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the recorded ‘Files’ easier to view by adding a dedicated button outside of the settings menu. Having to go through the settings menu to access them is cumbersome and it seems as if it’s a hidden afterthought..Version: 5.2.0

Thankyou Mavis! After fooling around with Moviepro and Filmic for a few days, I'm so happy to have found this! Moviepro just felt a little amateurish and Filmic was very unstable. I love the Camcorder like control panel on Mavis, and I seriously don't think I could live without focus peaking ever again! Pulling focus is so easy in this app, especially with the easily accessible focus adjustment. Best of all, the app is stable! The other thing I love is that the shutter speed, WB and ISO retain don't keep resetting every time you leave the main screen like filmic and Moviepro. My only complaint is that setting a custom white balance requires a few two many taps to access. And my only wish would be more automated focus or exposure pulls like Filmic has (and maybe a remote app too!) Filmic does have some nice features that Mavis can't do, but the better control panel, the focus peaking and the stability are what makes Mavis my favorite. Thankyou Mavis!.Version: 2.1.1

The truly professional video shooters app. This app has so much control. FPS, shutter speed, ISO, full range manual focus (you can focus closer to the lens with this than other apps), focus peaking, zebra, false color, histogram, waveform, 100mbps, 4K, white balance, stabilization off for true full sensor field of view. The interface is fluid and quick. It's right on point for filmmakers..Version: 2.2.3

My favorite for motionEvery time I open Mavis I'm impressed. I do agree with another poster that white balance dialing in is tougher than it should be but the scopes assists and controls more than make up for some fiddling to correct W/B. I've been happy in post as well with decent dynamic range capture and its ease syncing audio recorded on separate system Great job developers, keep up the excellent work and if possible---just a 'trigger' would be nice (V/F and focus adjust too;)) on the Apple Watch too;) Keep up the excellent work!.Version: 2.2.3

BrilliantI used Filmic for a long time but this has proven a lot more stable. The dev team clearly understand their audience.Version: 5.3.1

The function looks goodThe function looks good.Version: 5.4.1

Fantastic camera appMavis is a brilliant camera app, not only does it have features you'd expect from a high end video camera it keeps them easily accessible in an intuitive layout. The manual focus and exposure controls in particular are perfect. The developers are also very quick to reply and implement new features. A pricey app compared to other camera apps but compared to pro camera gear it's a bargain and definitely worth it for the features and support..Version: 2.1.1

Please don’t let this app die.I love this app. It is the one I keep coming back to and recommending to everyone that will listen. Of course camera apps all have similar features and it’s often down to how theses apps look to the user. But Mavis does one thing that others don’t. Mavis allows you to lock the shutter and leave ISO on auto. It’s a small feature. But the popular camera apps don’t do it. And if you’re a run and gun shooters like me, you know how good this is..Version: 5.5.0

Great app, please add more free thingsI really love this camera app, but I wish that you could see things like the histogram and connect to zhiyun devices without having to pay. Please don’t let this app die and add more free features..Version: 5.5.0

A must have!Best video app out there! Note to developer: It would be useful to have the ability/option to take a still image..Version: 3.0.1

The Best Video AppI’ve been using Mavis for the last 5 months for recording product reviews and macro style videos. The manual focus/focus peaking work perfect for my needs, and I really enjoy using them. I also love the new features in the latest update! Zoom works great, and the function button is perfect! The only comment I would make today is that I recently purchased an iPad Pro (10.5”), and would absolutely love it if the app supported the native screen resolution. I assume this would allow more on-screen Function buttons and capabilities as well. That giant viewfinder can be really nice for certain shots. I’d be willing to buy an iPad specific version. This app makes my iPhone 7+ my primary video camera. Keep up the good work! You guys are awesome!.Version: 3.0

Full featured.Mavis was ‘the other’ camera app that was serious specs and full featured. Hopefully they can grab market share now that the ‘Video App That Must Not Me Named’ has stuck it to its customer base. would love to see more development and hopefully never a subscription-only model..Version: 6.0.3

The only video camera app you will ever needStop wasting your time with those other camera apps and use Mavis. This has all the features you will ever need. The main one for me was the manual audio input level control....Version: 5.5.0

Good, but there is an issue. This camera app for iPhone is good, but I am experiencing the issue where the video freezes up for about two seconds at a time, no matter what camera settings that I am running. Even when I am playing the video back on my iPhone it the video is still frozen for two seconds at a time. If this is my fault, then I am sorry, developers, otherwise I hope this gets fixed. It is still a wonderful camera app and I would advise people to purchase it..Version: 3.0

Pretty cool, but...Given that we’re using iOS devices as cameras should be an indication, that we’re on a budget. As such, we should be able to Timecode sync over BT or by bumping two devices together (accelerometers) and not have to buy a third party device. It would also be useful, to use the camera directly as an OBS video/audio source..Version: 5.4.1

My favourite over Filmic proThis app is myfavourite in terms on clear output, compared to filmic pro. Extremely comprehensive user interface. One glitch i have encountered is having to disable and re enable stabilisation after swapping lenses on iPhone 11promax. It says stablisationis on but have to turn off and on to get it to work. Still a 5* app and outperformed filmic pro in my testing. 👍.Version: 5.5.0

BrilliantThe hands down best iOS filmmaking tool. The slick UI, waveforms, recording quality, perfect for our needs. We only continue to use Filmic because of the filmic remote app, that lets us do remote monitoring. For everything else, Mavis is wonderful. Please Mavis, develop a remote monitoring app!.Version: 5.5.0

Pretty goodOverall a nice video app that saves the recording specs I choose every time I open it. One thing I'd love to see is some smooth zooming controls. Current version extremely stable not one crash and everything works..Version: 2.2.3

Best mobile video app yet!Mavis is miles ahead of any other camera app available in the App Store today. It is the most complete and most stable camera app I've ever tried. Most other camera apps either don't have enough granular control, crash way to much, or both. Mavis gives all the granular control you'll ever need, and I've never had it crash on me, ever. TL;DR: If you want a stable, granular, DSLR quality app. Mavis is for you..Version: 2.2.3

Best pro camera for filmmakingAfter filmic pro, I switched to this app and now this is my main camera for filmmaking… i wish i had a log option too.Version: 5.6.2

My Go To Video AppI really enjoy using this app and like it saves directly to camera roll without having to export it manually. Love the scopes and audio meter. Manual White Balance is not easy to dial in. I wish the app would have the common WB temps ready to select or an easier number slider and same with color shift. I would like to see a horizontal and vertical tilt on screen. I would like manual target exposure and auto focus to be separate on screen selection squares. Also, another competing app has an on screen button to hold down and the camera adjusts white balance quickly based up selection point on screen - it's much better than WB in this app and would be a welcome addition..Version: 2.2.3

Superb camera appI was going to buy Filmic Pro after seeing Sean Baker's film Tangerine (shot on an iPhone 5s with Filmic Pro), but instead gravitated towards Mavis, which was getting better reviews (especially in terms of pro-features and stability). I've not had an problems with the app; on the contrary, it's worked very well indeed. Very easy to use also..Version: 2.2.3

Amazing App!The amount of camera control available in JUST the free version should be enough to convince you to get this app!.Version: 5.4.0

Excellent Video Recording AppMavis is a fantastic app. It has a large number of professional, well laid out features. The quality of recordings is very good and it's a pleasure to use. The servo zoom feature works very well, and as with all its features, is very intuitive. I delayed buying the app for a while due to the price, but after having made the purchase I have no regrets. Like most things, you get what you pay for, and I think it's well worth the money, given the expertise which has gone into making this app..Version: 5.0.4

Love it but one misleading issueThis is my favourite camera control app as a professional used to scopes, etc and also the picture quality and buttery smoothness is uber-impressive. I bought a Zhiyun Smooth 4 gimbal as it was listed in app but on delivery of gimbal it appears not, though its listed and mapped on website. I emailed Zhiyun and they stated that it’s incompatible. I have bought FilmicPro and that works beautifully with The gimbal and has a lot of control. Why is it listed in the app and website, and as an extra paid component? Also, the app needs updating. Such a shame if the app is left to rot as I much prederbit to FilmicPro but will have now to use the latter because it (honestly) works with the gimbal..Version: 5.5.0

Not so proAlmost every feature is locked behind a pay wall, for instance resolution changing and fps is locked!Stock camera app does better job EDIT:Sorry for miss understanding I saw an article saying that app is free for one day and I thought I will get the full app for free..Version: 4.0.1

Love it!The only thing this lacks is built-in ND filters..Version: 3.0.1

Great so far!I’ve now paid for the full features of the app. I’m really liking the professional features this app contains, it puts to shame some professional DSLRs with video features. I love the zebras and focus peaking features. Mavis has a great choice of frame-rate, resolution and bit-depth. 4k 60f/s at 100mbps! Some sony and canon cameras that cost thousands don’t do that! In general the app is quite stable! Had no crashes or freezes at all. I’ve just a few things that would make the app just perfect. I find that When adjusting my shutter speed to manual and then starting shooting, I see the shutter speed change from my setting to something accommodating for shifts in exposure. That’s unacceptable for a “manual” mode. Those need to be locked off and not be allow to change if not put to auto! Another things is that I find the zoom technique very gimmicky. I find that digital zoom does not work for me. I tried to tap and tapp and move forward, ain’t working. Better off have a slider along the bottom across the horizon as per exposure and focus sliders, much more straightforward. Another thing I find is that when I enable stabilisation it crops in a tiny bit. As the iPhone features optical image stabilisation that crop shouldn’t happen, correct me if I’m wrong. Lastly, and this is a feature that I would love so much! Log! Or at least a flat/neutral color profile would be a dream. I know filmic pro has it, so hopefully it could be implemented here too. Thanks to the developers for the solid experience. I’m using my iPhone 8. Best, Bobby.Version: 4.0.1

UpgradeWhilst I love this app there’s one thing I find a problem & i’m sure it not all Mavis doing & that the stabilization is not as good as the stock apple camera app. If this could get up on par or close to it would be great. Also with the current last two GENS of iPhones 12/13 Pro/Max lines the I am wondering why Mavis hasn’t updated its app to suit these features like prores as well as cinematic. Is there gonna be an update any time soon with this app?.Version: 5.5.0

Best UI for pro filming but needs to be updatedI own a s have used all of the major filming apps for iOS and Mavis is by far my favorite due to the user interface and functionality. However, I have contacted the developer through their support email several times and have not received any responses. I am really hoping that they are still developing updates for this app to support the new iPhone 12 capabilities like 10 bit recording and Dolby Vision support. I’m also hoping that they update the app to take advantage of iOS 14..Version: 5.5.0

Best pro app, 180 shutter angle featureKeeping a low shutter speed for smartphones can be challenging, but Mavis makes that easy to lock in. So you can shoot that beautiful footage with smooth cinematic motion blur. It’s one of my favorite features of the many many pro features. One of the top two pro camera apps for smartphones..Version: 5.1.0

The full featured version is fantasticI bought this app 4 years ago and it’s only gotten better. This has been immensely helpful when recording concerts from the front row..Version: 5.4.1

Most pro video recording app out thereAs far as I know, this is the best way to get top video results from an iPhone. This has at least as much control as my $5k Canon C100 mark ii, but shoots 4K and is probably easier to use overall. Beautiful interface with pro scopes, tons of room for customization and they keep adding new features. All in all a job well done..Version: 4.0

Brilliant yet so simple to use!I was concerned that this would be a difficult app to learn to use, and with the price as another factor, I had to take some time to think before I got the app. Now that I have it, I can safely say that this was one of the best apps I have ever purchased. The quality is superb and the controls are actually very simple..Version: 2.2.3

Great, stable appI have used MAVIS for about a month and have shot a couple hundered clips. The clips vary in length from a few seconds to 20 minutes. I have never lost a clip. Even when I accidentally turned the phone off during recording, the clip was saved to the apps file sharing feature. I appreciate the stability of the app. I am shooting on a 7+. Tech support has been great as well. I contacted twice and they were very helpful. Update: August 2017 Used Mavis app with Moondog Labs anamorphic lens on iPhone 7 plus to film a Scottish wedding. Recorded over 300 clips and 34 gigs in an 11 hour period with no issues. Very stable app. Looking forward to the new updated app for IOS 11..Version: 2.2.3

Would like to be optimisticDue to recent business changes around my go-to filmmaking app, I’m on the hunt for an alternative. I’ve driven Mavis around the block in the past but for me, there was no compelling reason to switch, especially since it appeared to be abandoned. Now there may be. So, four stars because the app hasn’t kept up with the hardware capability or with gimbal integration. But four stars because Mavis is an outstanding filmmaking app, right down to the details even in the current free version. Superior flexibility (e.g., no forced limits on shutter angle based on frame rate) to what I’m currently using. There are a couple of things I wish the app had, but the core functionality is solid. So, I’m watching to see if the app still has ongoing developer interest. If it does, then it absolutely has my interest as well..Version: 5.6.2

Missing Some ThingsI really want to love this professional quality video recording app. I’m looking for that perfect, all in one solution recorder. But I’m missing some features on this one. I live some of the features you get on Guerrilla Filmmaker, like every aspect ratio, or just about every resolution. That’s what I want to see on here. This app has a lot going for it though. It’s well worth the 4 stars. But for 5 stars, I need all the features we have here, plus I want all aspect ratios and resolutions as well..Version: 5.3.1

Amazing app!As a professional TV director and cameraman, I 've been somewhat impressed at the way that some smartphones such as the iPhone 6s Plus can handle images, both still and video. What was lacking though was the right software to take advantage of the possibilities. I needed to have full control as well as monitoring of the various functions. Enter MAVIS! What an incredible little(!) app. I couldn't believe that it actually offers focus peaking as well as a waveform monitor, not to mention a decent manual audio level control. In short, it has everything that I'd expect if I was to pick up a professional video camera. I also bought the IoGrapher frame to hold the 6sPlus, which really has turned it into a very high-powered video acquisition unit Well done to the developers - I salute you! This is an update at July 2017. While I still stick with my previous thoughts, there is one fault that I reported to the developers, but nothing seems to have been done to rectify it: the manual focus control has an image of infinity and also a flower for close up work. It appears that the icons are the wrong way around. One should be able to slide ghe control to infinity to focus on distant objects, whereas it's the other way around....Version: 2.2.3

Best Videography App.... Period! So I’d been using Filmic Pro for a good while but I was getting frustrated with it’s user interface and felt overall it was a bit clunky and somewhat unstable. I came across Mavis a while back but at that point it was fairly expensive for me to purchase and there was no free version to try out. When a free version did come along, I downloaded it, played with it and within days I decided to purchase the ‘Big Bundle’ package and I can honestly say it was money well spent in my opinion. It’s feature rich and the layout of the user interface is so intuitive and easy to navigate compared to Filmic Pro. I’d love to see integration with hardware such as the Zhiyun Smooth 4 so I can use the rack focus/zoom wheel and motion time lapses within Mavis but I appreciate that could be a tall order! Yes, the full app is a little costly, but it’s a serious bit of kit and if you’re into mobile cinematography then Mavis is the app you’ll need without doubt. In a nutshell, Mavis is an awesome app and the customer support is great. I’ve had no regrets buying this app and I’ll be using it when I go to Dubai in a few weeks!.Version: 4.0.1

Superb appAbsolutely brilliant, best pro video app for iPhone, everything so intuitive.Version: 2.0.2

Timecode worksThank goodness for Mavis..Version: 5.6.2

Might be the best for Video CaptureMavis is one of the best if not best app for video capture on iOS. I take my video work seriously regardless of what camera I’m using. With iOS I’ve been using Filmic Pro since day one and love it for most tasks. The one area where I struggle to use Filmic Pro is when my iPhone X is on a gimbal because seeing the iPhone’s screen outdoors is tough as are changing settings. Mavis solves the problem with its amazing scopes and overall UI. Mavis is so smooth to work with and the capture quality is top notch. Mavis is truly a next gen iOS app. I still use Filmic Pro when I need to monitor or control remotely and use my iPad Pro for that. For everything else, I’m using Mavis. Unlock everything in-app. It’s worth it..Version: 4.0

Great Pro iPhone Camera App!One of the only apps that offers focus peaking, waveform and vectorscope (for what that's worth on the iPhone). Easy to control most manual functions It would be great to add the following: 1. Able to manually control shutter speed while having ISO running auto. 2. Allowing easier control of shutter speed (too sensitive and often skips single digits) 3. Option for completely clear screen (removal of all onscreen info) 4. Integration of OSMO Mobile control like one of its competitors. 5. Allow front facing camera support (even if the manual control is reduced). Thanks.Version: 2.2

Pro level features almostI have discovered this app after using filmic pro which I found unusable as I kept unlocking my manual settings. This app allows you to hold your shutter speed, and frame rate and alter your ISO easily and focus with peaking whilst looking at waveform! Very impressive!. Only lacks a flat profile to allow for easier colour correction. Be aware if you shoot 24 fps with 1/48 shutter you will need nd filter for shooting daylight due to the wide aperture on iPhones..Version: 2.2.3

Support for synced separate audio makes Mavis the real Pro appMavis Pro is the one true “Pro” iOS filmmaking app. It matches Filmic Pro on all fronts: UI, quality, support for anamorphic lenses (like Moondog), and gimbals (like Zhiyun). But timecode support sets Mavis apart. I film with Mavis and record separate stereo audio with high-end mics using Apogee’s MetaRecorder app on another iPhone. Both apps can embed a synced timecode generated by an Ultrasync Blue. I then import Mavis video files and MetaRecorder audio files into FCPX and use the Synchronize Clips feature to get perfectly matched audio/video clips with one click. Works perfectly and saves so much time..Version: 5.4.1
