Yoga | Down Dog for Positive User Reviews

For someone looking to finally try yoga this itAlways loved working out, always hated stretching or yoga. Fast forward and now older....no choice but to embrace yoga. This app helped a lot. Just doing 15 minutes à day helps..Version: 6.9.0

Flexible, clear, personalI love the fact that the program is so flexible that length and intensity, but also booster areas and type of practice can be specified. I used other apps before and they permitted flexibility and personalization, but either were to detailed (do it on your own, combo boxes) or had stiff programs. I feel this one is right in the middle. Easy to use and easy to make choices once you’ve practiced a little while or if you trust yourself to give the various types of yoga a go before finding your happy ones. The directions are clear and precise and the flow is fab, flow of video and sound that is. No awkward loops or digital fractions between poses..Version: 6.1.6

First timerA friend of mine had mentioned about this app as he said he uses it and has found great relief from back ache, so I went ahead and downloaded the app. I have literally just done the my first practise session of this app. So this is my first ever yoga session and I will admit it was a bit of a struggle not having excellent balance (on one leg at a time), and flexibility is an issue, but I persevered and done it. Now feeling pretty chilled and will see how I get on. Good video to follow even if it is awkward trying to watch what they are doing while trying to mimic what your seeing. Update. Having used it on and off for a year roughly now, I can say that flexibility has improved and my balance is better. I never going to have the flexibility of a teenager again but I’m way more flexible than friends my age. Great app..Version: 4.2.5

THE best Yoga app I’ve used so far.I’ve tried a lot of fitness apps over the years, Freeletics, Nike Training, AloMoves, you name it, I’ve probably tried it. Now, I was and still am a big fan of Boho Beautiful’s subscription offering, particularly for their blend of Pilates and Yoga, and also something about Juliana’s voice that is relaxing yet when doing more cardiovascular workouts, can also be upbeat and motivating. However with DownDog, I get perhaps the best guidance on poses. I’ve never had an in-person class due to my location, and also cost, but the ability to customise how much guidance you receive really caters to all levels. The voices are also good, I particular like Chad’s voice to be very calming. I never get the same workout twice, which is a huge plus and £9.99 for all apps per month, great pricing which hits the sweet spot. The app works great on iPhone and iPad which is what I am currently using. For suggestions, I say please make a Pilates app. You already have HIIT (which I started using) but I’m surprised Pilates isn’t before Barre!! Let’s see it happen please..Version: 5.8.0

My life has never been betterI started using this app during the peak of covid isolation restrictions as Down Dog was allowing users to try the app for over a month for free. It was the best thing that I ever did. I had already been struggling mentally due to being a front line worker and seeing the absolutely despicable and appalling behaviour people were exhibiting. Not only has my my fitness improved dramatically, but I am sleeping better and able to clear my mind to try not to sweat the small stuff. I love that I can get up and do a yoga sesh in the morning, and it’s just the perfect start to a day. I also just found out that up to 6 family members can use the app, so I’m going to download it on hubby’s phone as he’s expressed a desire to do some yoga. And to my surprise, I saw there is a beginner yoga app which is truly brilliant. Just so many great apps for the price! Thanks guys! My only slight issue currently is my app has crashed a few times during casting and gone back to the start. Which is a bit distracting but I’m sure future updates should fix that. Overall, I couldn’t be happier..Version: 4.8.4

Download it ASAPI have so many nice things to say about this app but the most important thing that I can say is that I've found my safe space. I've found a way to transform my living room, the park, a hotel room, a cramped Brooklyn hallway, a rooftop or the beach into a private meditation space. It has truly changed my life and the way i live it, especially during these peculiar times. I downloaded the app in 2017 when I was unemployed and couldn't afford a yoga studio membership or class. Since then Ive been in 2 car wrecks, started physical therapy / acupuncture, gained (& lost) and regained employment, joined a yoga pilates studio, rejoined the gym, and moved from BK to LA but one thing has remained a constant in my life - using this app. I'm not one to over praise technology -- in fact I resent it often and try to avoid it as much as possible, however I am not a fool and acknowledge the ways in which technology has eased a lot of things in our modern lives -- this is one of them. Don't overthink it just download the app and try. You will be surprised at how much you can do and before you know it you'll be advanced. God Bless You!.Version: 6.0.0

Exceeded my expectations! 👏🏼I was using a paid yoga app for about 2 years until its existing customers were forced to pay for a subscription fee in order to use its contents that I've already paid for. Therefore I had to find another yoga app in replacement for something I got used to and loved. Then I found this app. I wasn't expecting much but I honestly loved their featured yoga sessions and showed me new flows and poses that my previous app failed to develop. This app is here to stay in my phone as I continue to grow in my yoga journey. Keep it up 🙏🏼✌🏼💖.Version: 2.0

Newbie is hookedMy friend got me started on this as a mindfulness practise and I decided to download it and start practising on my own. I find its a great start to my day as I sit at the laptop for the majority of my week. I am starting slow but have been improving, and feel into whether I feel like a full practise or a relaxing stretch. Highly recommend :-).Version: 6.0.0

Definitely my fave yoga appI’ve been using it for a few years now and compared to other yoga apps, this one is def the best. The customer team who is behind down dog are so lovely and really helpful. They really helped me step back into my practice post partum and for that I am so grateful! Namaste!.Version: 6.5.0

This app has made me fall in love with yoga!I downloaded and tried every yoga app I could find on the App Store and none of them can hold a candle to this one. First, unlike the others, this app is fully functional, with an unbelievable number of options (including music), and free. Not temporarily, not with things you have to buy to actually have a full practice... free... right out of the gate. Secondly, the practices are amazing! The voice that talks you through each pose and breath is the perfect mix of relaxing and encouraging, without that sort of snobbish tone that I found some had. I am a beginner at yoga but, since finding this app, I have found I am completely in love. I practice every day. I’ve begun meditation, I’ve purchased things to make my yoga space welcoming and supportive, and I’ve already seen a huge improvement in how well I can do each pose. Seriously, don’t bother with any of the other apps... I’ve tried them... download this one and find your way to downward facing dog!.Version: 2.4.4

Best yoga app for me!In a class I get easily distracted by personalities and comparing myself to others. This app allows me to make the session focused on me. The simplified appearance and customisation options allow me to really focus on what is happening in my body. I do short 20 min sessions whenever and wherever I can. The levels seem quite advanced to me which make me think I will be able to use this app for years. I use the slowest setting and full explanation and feel that I have learned more specific tips than in any real class I have been to. I like the approach of the company to make it accessible for anyone, a company less-for-profit culture we need in building a fairer world. makes me feel good to support that..Version: 6.4.0

Music is too loud over the Yogis voiceI love the down dog ap! However lately the music has been over powering the instructors voice which makes it hard to follow the sequence. Another suggestion, the Alternate beats was a funky group of tunes that motivated movement, however after my mini practise just now, the alternate beats soundtrack seemed more like pop music. If you are to use pop music, could that have its own setting as I found the music was distracting and not allowing me to focus on my breathing or holding poses. I do love love the down dog ap and know how great feedback is so I hope you guys continue to grow and evolve 🌻 thank you.Version: 4.5.0

Thank youJust want to thank the creators of this app. It’s uhmazing! Not only is it free on all levels but there are different kinds of yoga! Restorative, quick flow, short practice, full practice, and even intro to yoga ( for my new to yoga partner!)!!! But there is also different levels of intensity! I can also choose how quick or slow paced I would like my practice to be! It has background music and the option to have full little or no spoken instructions; and these instructions are good! I can keep my eyes closed during my practice and be guided through the entire session! Love the playlist options too!!! Seriously all around my favorite app!! It is the only thing that gets me up before 6 am! And I feel GREAT after practicing. Serious life changer. It’s also great to have on my phone so if my anxiety gets bad at work I can just sneak away and do some quick flow yoga ! Thank you for this app and thank you for making it free!!!!!!!! I love it and recommend it to all my friends!! Thanks for helping me bring yoga into my life! ❤️💜🧡💛💚💙 namaste!.Version: 2.6.1

Game changer!! You gotta get this app!I never write reviews for stuff but this was too good not to share! I’ve been teaching yoga around 7 years- I teach mon-thurs and I also am a musician who works at night, so finding time for my own practice has been incredibly hard. This app is incredible. There are many options to customize your perfect class. You can choose from video or no video, instructors voice, length of class, length of savasana, difficulty and pace of class, how much “instruction/talking” you want, choice of music (music is awesome btw), you can “favorite” a class to revisit, and you can also pick an area of focus like core or twists, etc.. I was able to purchase the app through their website for $35 for the YEAR. If you’ve been looking through different apps and don’t know which one to choose, look no further. Plus they have a free trial for 3 classes- I only did one class and bought the app right away! So great for traveling too, and there’s also an option to download practices to your device. Great app and awesome price, so glad I took a chance on this one!.Version: 4.2.5

How do I express how this app has changed my life!!!Not only is the app easy to use and so amazingly versatile but the benefits that I have gained have been monumental. No more back pain or headaches. I’ve had chronic neck pain from injuries 30 years ago and I can now touch my neck without pain. Even though I have been sick lately when recovering I have done a gentle version with stretching and feel better everyday. I do it when and where I like. I feel stronger both mentally and physically than I have in years. I’m nearly 50 and I feel better than I did when I was 40. My flexibility and balance improve on a daily basis. What I couldn’t quite do yesterday I can today and all so easy with the app. One of the best apps I’ve ever bought. Thank so much!!!!.Version: 5.0.0

My Absolute favoriteThis app is so near and dear to me, I cannot begin to even give an accurate written review because it lives in my heart(without words). It’s a moving meditation for me from the moment I hear the voice, have rolled my mat out and then awaken from my savasana. I choose the spiritual music setting and close my eyes.. in the sunshine under the trees. I’ve used this app while in the woods camping. It’s a treasure on my phone, in my pocket. I adore yoga.. this app took that feeling and quadrupled it. With the pandemic, I’ve done Insta workouts/yoga, zoom yoga and a few social-distanced outdoor classes. Coming back to down dog is like coming back home. The ONLY ONLYYY thing that I can think of to offer for advice that would make this amazing app give me everything, would be to have a yoga sculpt option in the active settings. I have my favorite virtual yoga sculpt teachers(body weight and hand weight)elsewhere.. having that option here would just be incredible. Great app Down Dog, thank you thank you for all that you do🙏Namaste🧡.Version: 5.4.0

Life changingThank you down dog!! I can't share enough how much this app has changed my life. My practice has become so regular meaning there is so much more light in so much more parts of life - why wouldn't you want that? This app is so user friendly, def worth purchasing full app. With the choice to cater each class to how/who I am on each day. Go from a full 60min to a quick 15min practice. Each 'class' feels so genuine and Each pose has been described with great body awareness so it's so easy to pick up, and after a few 'classes' you won't need to watch the screen, just easily flow through your asanas and transform your living room into your own personal studio. Such a positive addition to life. Thank you so much Down Dog for all the hard work and for deciding to share this greatness with the world. Namaste..Version: 2.0

BrilliantThis app is super easy to use, can pause on poses if required. Very relaxing and well explained/narrated. Would like an option to buy it instead of subscription however. That being said the free version seems amazing anyway. Thanks!.Version: 2.3.3

Anyone can do Yoga with down dogThis app is so great for beginners (or people who have been beginners several times over and never made it past that phase🙋🏻‍♀️). It’s easy to use and understand. I like that you can change how much instruction/ sound or music you need. I LOVE the boost options for when some places are just tight as hell and you need to hold that pose! And breathe, girl! I’m the type that needs a lot of specific instruction so the combo of the video, the narrative instructions, and the ability to choose the pacing, it feels like I actually have the time to focus on my breath! I love this app. Also, you can pick how long you want it to be. Anywhere from like 5 min to over an hour and every increment in between. So I never wanna do it and I’m like “ok, but I can do just 5 minutes.” And then after 5 minutes I’m like “woah, I need more!” And then I usually end up doing another slightly longer practice. Mars is my favorite instructor voice☺️..Version: 5.0.0

Holy smokes! I love this appI love this app. I had to give it a second chance, as the trial version froze, and I tried another (super expensive) app — but it lacked the customisation & simply MUSIC. I got the $20 annual deal which came through - and I would happily go with full price, I just needed to road test a few others. What do I love? 1. The easy way to select duration - even your savasana length! 2. Voice choice!!!!!! I’m on Isaiah at the moment. 3. Style / speed. If I’ve left it late, I’ll do the Restorative ... but I’ll at least DO the practice. 4. I’m not alone here - the variety! Every sequence is different, and yet every sequence just flows! 5. Most of all - I read up on the creators. I love a “real, in it with passion” maker story, and this is surely it! Bravo team down dog!! The only thing I’d say is the logo doesn’t reflect the caliber of this app. The name is 🤘🏻superb. The look doesn’t match what’s inside the box. Keep doing great things!!.Version: 3.5.3

Love itI can’t say enough about how I love this app. I tell everyone about it. Completely customized practice. You can control almost every aspect. It gives me a good challenge and I can set the length of time to fit with the time I have. 💛.Version: 7.0.0

Surpassed expectationsI’ve always wanted to be fitter, but have little inclination to work myself to exhaustion. And finding the time away from home is difficult, and buying decent home equipment expensive and requires loads of storage. I was recommended to do yoga by a physiotherapist who was trying to address years (and years) of damage I had done to my body because of bad posture. I thought it was a stupid idea, I had this image of yoga just being about spiritualism and meditation. But I gave it a shot and I am a convert! I fee more mindful, my fitness has increased and at the end of a session I have this weird mix of having had a meaningful workout but also heightened relaxation. And yes, my years of back pain have all but vanished only after a month of yoga!! This app is perfect. It guides you in gently with the tutorial programmes and then lets you increase intensity, difficulty and session time at your own pace. You can choose how much detail is given for each pose, so it’s perfect for beginners and experts alike. My only criticism is that you can’t adjust music volume separate to the voice so sometimes I can’t hear the instructions very well because the music is too loud. And I’m not looking at the screen half the time because the poses don’t allow it!!.Version: 3.8.0

Best yoga app out thereI’ve been using Down Dog consistently for three years now. I love the different styles that are available (even more now I think), and I’ve also just discovered that various levels of instruction are available - a nice change after hearing the full explanations a few too many times! My only request to the developers would be to introduce more variety into the sessions. It’s great that each session expands a little on the one before, but I’m now at the stage where I’ve done it all before SO many times, and just wish there were a few new moves to try. That said, the quality of instruction, ability to choose a voiceover that feels right for you, and the clear, east to follow instructions, will keep me coming back..Version: 6.1.6

The best. Bar none.Other yoga apps can be fantastic but tend to lack the human understanding this one does. There are no complex plans, no inhuman-sounding voices, no static sequences that are either too easy or too hard. This app is the one that made me give up on all the others. Fantastic and relatable instructor voice, varied and interesting routines each day, customisable session times, optional "boost" focus on specific areas (flexibility, cardio, hamstrings etc etc). Really just simple, but far more accessible. I haven't enjoyed yoga like this before..Version: 2.0

Amazing!I love down dog so much! I started on the prenatal version, which saved me through all the aches and pains of pregnancy. Since having my baby I’m now building up my strength on the standard version. I love that you can pick different yoga styles and duration of your practise. When I’m exhausted and need of a stretch I choose a 30 min yin. When I feel like I can manage more of a work out/strength building practise I can work for longer in vinyasa or ashtanga. The voice is so lovely to listen to and the playlist is always amazing! Could not recommend enough!.Version: 5.8.0

Beginner to YogaAfter years of trying to put up with a tight body especially hamstrings and hips I now find great relief by doing a half hour session each morning. I am now finding my body has gained greater flexibility and like walking on water experience. Quality of life has taken a big step forward because of this yoga routine. A great thankyou Down Dog Cheers David.Version: 6.0.0

Best yoga app everI started using this app since Covid started and I couldn’t go to gym. And I’m still using it after 3 years. I love how I can adjust my practice in the way I want..Version: 6.9.0

My loyal daily exercise companionI had put of starting yoga for 2 years the excuses were many, one being I had to find the perfect studio environment and instructor. I found down dog and the excuses faded away, love the app, the detailed instructions and pictures of poses are brilliant for me the beginner. I plan to get the paid version as soon as I master some of the poses. The app has allowed me to practice yoga everyday from anywhere. I travel for work and having the app has allowed me to continue my morning routine and yoga mastery from hotel rooms. Brilliant app 🙏🏼.Version: 2.0

FreedomI am useless at regularly being somewhere at a certain time if it’s just for my own benefit. With Downgog I do yoga every day when I want, wearing whatever and for as long at I want. My body is transforming and my motivation is strong. Thanks for a great APP!❤️🌺❤️.Version: 6.8.1

No download functionI bought this app thinking I could download sessions to use while traveling but unfortunately it seems this option has been removed (although it’s still mentioned in the FAQs). Gutted..Version: 5.7.5

Down Dog loverI downloaded this app because I started yoga and am a dog lover, an interesting combo, I know. I was using another yoga app that I thought I really liked. However you could only do the same 5 workouts unless you "unlocked" (aka purchased) the monthly subscriptions so I was quite bored after a few weeks. I really like the "flow" tempo in the app because it gives you a little bit of an elevated heart rate without having to run or go to the gym. I'm not avoiding those things because of laziness. I have a condition that limits the intensity I can work out at. I used to love running and lifting weights. Well I have to say, after 3.5 years since I last stepped in a gym or gone for a good run I've finally found a workout that's both safe for my health and an amazing workout!! The flexibility of pace, level, speed, etc. makes it so versatile for my pain level, time allotment, and energy that day. From first seeing that smiling doggy icon to practicing with the app for several weeks, I'm fully committed to Down Dog!! Thank you so much Down Dog for helping me regain my self and finding a perfect fit for my life!!🐶.Version: 2.0

DownDogI love this app/company because it allows me to have a daily yoga practice when I can’t go into a studio regularly. The app handles everything you need in a full practice and even has different versions of yoga practices. A couple problems that I’ve noticed is: 1. When practicing, the instruction from the instructor often does not align with the visual practitioner on the screen. Ie.) “warrior 2 with left arm up and right leg back” often shows actually the opposite on the screen. The person will actually have the right arm up and left leg back (the opposite). So that’s slightly confusing. And 2. The app glitches sometimes. Even with a downloaded practice, the app will glitch and not play smoothly. During a yoga practice, rhythm is a big factor. So, being interrupted by lagging tech can be tedious. Also, when toggling back or forward, it takes the app longer than it should to switch to another pose/position within the given practice. Simply, slow tech. These are the two main fixes I hope to see DownDog improve on, or their competitors strive in. If a competitor performed the above elements better, I would switch my subscription to them. Perhaps this is a simple tech solution. -DG.Version: 5.2.3

Best yoga app in townThe routines are extremely customisable enabling any amount of yoga to fit in to whatever time you have at any ability. The instructions are clear and the music selection is vast. Highly recommend..Version: 4.4.8

3 years of Down Dog and still happy!3 years of Down Dog and still happy!.Version: 7.0.0

Life saverThis app was recommended by my psychologist to help with my anxiety. I absolutely love it and have recommended it to so many people. It’s so easy to use, different every time and so customizable for what you need at the time. I also love Chad’s voice - so calming! I’ve been using it for over a year now during my cancer journey and it has been a life saver. And then when I broke my ankle badly at the end of last year it has helped immensely with my rehab - I just add foot/ankle stretches to the program for the extra focus. It’s helped calm my mind, give me something constructive to focus on and helped me to get stronger in the process! Very highly recommend..Version: 6.2.1

Great instructions and so flexibleI got this app a little while ago but did not really get into it until the last month or so. I am so grateful for the offer of the free full version and will definitely be subscribing. I appreciate that there is so much flexibility in the length and intensity of the practice so I can choose what suits me best on any particular day. Also find the voice and music soothing and love the really clear instructions as I am fairly new to regular yoga practice but the app is really motivating me to practice every day!.Version: 4.6.1

Caution: Addictive app :)I have tried many yoga apps. This is by far the best one. It has clear instructions with quality videos, different yoga styles, levels, pace, if preferred emphasis on different body areas, session lengths, good instructor voices with a choice of different instruction levels and background sounds to choose from. Apart from that it can be played on a computer as well. Questions get answered promptly. The Down Dog Facebook community is a friendly and inspiring site. Looking forward to practicing and getting better! On another note the other Down Dog apps are amazing as well. Love the Down Dog 7 min workout for breaks from longer sitting. Thank you for creating it!.Version: 4.4.8

Great appLove the app, very personalized practices. Been doing yoga for years and this app has introduced me to poses/variations i never knew existed or would have thought of. Highly recommended.Version: 7.0.0

Truly IncredibleSuch detailed options that allow you to control the session to your specifications and likings, including the voice of your instructor, the length, speed and volume of the practice and accompanying music, the depth of pose descriptions... not only is this app perfect for anyone looking to maintain a practice or just try yoga in the comfort of their own home or wherever they are, the level of care given to how you want your practice to be makes it a very comfortable experience. Also very useful in helping to maintain a positive habit and free from the negativity we can all sometimes associate with feeling like we’re not ‘doing well enough’ or ‘trying hard enough’. Was recommended by a friend and would highly recommend! App access is currently all free during the coronavirus lockdown and I would take advantage of this! Great way to keep mobile, motivated and relaxed while at home!.Version: 4.5.1

Life changing appI practiced yoga in live classes about 2-3 with excellent teachers for several years and began to experience the amazing benefits of regular practice. I had discovered down dog and used it when travelling but when the Covid-19 pandemic hit, I began to use the app for daily practice. It was my life-saver throughout the long months of London lockdown. I used it to practice daily, usually for an hour. I love the flexibility of the app. It goes with me anywhere anytime and offers a range of different practices which can be adjusted to fit your time constraints, your mood and what you feel your body needs on a particular day. It is never boring for me. Instructions are clear and the demonstrations are easy to follow and I like the ‘neutrality’ of the app. Thanks to all who put this amazing tool together. I am sure I am not the only one whom it has supported through a difficult period. I am so grateful. 🙏.Version: 6.6.0

Great all round yoga app!I highly recommend this app to anyone looking to start yoga or carry on their practise, with lots of options for you to choose from this app suits all abilities. The team on the other end are fast and efficient at getting back to any concerns too!.Version: 6.1.5

Amazing yoga appAn amazing yoga app, two sessions never the same and are customisable, a variety of voices and all the different types of yoga. I love ending a work day with some Yin. I’d also like to take a moment to say THANK YOU to the app makers for making this app free while the world is quarantining, definitely helps pass the time..Version: 4.5.1

Excellent!Really love the changing classes, keeps you learning something new and more focussed on the session (my mind starts to wander if it gets a bit routine). Only thing that would be great to see added, please, is an auto-pause function if a phone call comes through while you are using the app :).Version: 2.0

Love itLove this app, love that we can customise it to what level and length we want. Music is perfect. The instructions are simple and easy to follow either listening or watching. If we could tap multiple areas of focus that would be awesome. Otherwise love love LOVE this app. My busy lifestyle doesn’t allow for me to go into a studio so to be able to do a at home with variety is perfect..Version: 5.3.1

One of my favourite appsWhat I love about this app is that it puts YOU in control of your practice. You choose the type of yoga you want to do, the length of your session, the voice, the music, your experience level... and many other settings that you can customise. You can focus on a certain body part a little more, you can slow down or speed up the movement, get more or less instruction... they have thought of just about everything. I like that there isn’t talk of things like chakras or other ideas that not everyone is into; it’s purely about yoga. I find the ‘restorative’ or ‘gentle’ yoga types more helpful for me than meditation; I’m still breathing, I’m still trying to calm my mind & be in the present moment, but with some movement to provide just enough stimulation too. My overactive mind is yet to master pure meditation on it’s own, but yoga works for me.🧘🏻‍♀️ Then there’s the other practice types if you need more of a workout. Great app, well worth paying for. I recommend it to people all the time. 🙏🏻.Version: 4.8.4

Best yoga appYou can customize in every way possible the type of practice you want to have. From beginner to experienced this app has got everything. Love it for a quick flow or a long deep practice. Has made at home yoga feel like being in a studio..Version: 5.8.0

No detail overlooked! This is the most phenomenal app on my phone. Idk how they did it. Every detail has been considered to create an unprecedentedly smooth, easy, personalized experience that I want to use every day. There is no part of the yoga practice that is not completely customizable, down to the voice of the guidance and speed of the flow. Speaking of the voice, how is it possible that my entirely personalized practice is generated in a few seconds when I press “start”, but the guidance is so naturally fluid that it basically seems live? Magic perhaps? The completely adjustable timer, so I can do anywhere from a 10 minute practice to 75, at intervals at only 2 minutes…genius! How can I ever argue that I don’t have time for yoga when I could do a full practice in 10 minutes? Even the fact that the app asks you to select the type of music and plays actual pieces by talented artists, some little known; the type of thing that the average user wouldn’t even notice if they were missing, that takes the experience entirely to the next level. I’ll keep telling all this to everyone who will listen. I have never said this about an app before, and rarely say it in life: I am so impressed..Version: 6.0.0

New yoga fanNever really got into yoga before but recent back issues forced me to do a little yoga daily as part of a balanced rehab program and now it's a staple part of my day. Not only does it help relieve tension in my back, it is also a great way to unwind for a better night's sleep and improved mood. I love that you can choose flow type and session length, and with the random sequence generator every session is a little different from the last. Thanks Down Dog for such a well considered and well made app!.Version: 2.0

Best yoga appAbsolutely love this app, highly customisable (length of practice, level of experience, type of practice, areas of focus, music, pace, etc). I use it regularly and it replaces going to classes for me when I can’t go (or afford!). My only feedback would be that it would be nice to have more guidance to what to pay attention to sensations-wise in poses :).Version: 6.1.6

Incredibly versatileI’ve been using DownDog for 3 years and subscribing was possibly one of the best things I’ve ever done. It’s changed my life. At 40. In the beginning I mainly did strength training and full practice flows as it allows you to train different body parts. Now I use a mixture of restorative, gentle and the strength flows. The poses are well explained if you’re a beginner, so just in a few weeks you’ll get used to not even looking at your screen. With time as I got better I didn’t need explanations so now I only have it on the lowest setting. The voices you can choose are calming and there’s a variety of accents which i find amazing. The music is diverse as well! Or you can practice in silence if you wish. I can only say great things about this app! I’ve recommended DownDog to lots of friends as they see I my continuous posts about how much I’ve fallen in love with yoga..Version: 5.2.3

Best yoga app I've usedI'm astounded. They got it all right with this app, and it's hard for for me to find the patience for yoga. The process and the way I feel afterward is amazing, and I never feel patronized, pseudo-spiritual, or like I'm trying to be a soccer mom. From the language used in the narration, the soothing yet energizing voice, the musical selections (and option for no music) the quality of the images.. I'm just really happy with Down Dog. Evidently there are in app purchases, but I probably wouldn't have realized that if it wasn't indicated on the app description. It's not in-your-face at all - I'm going to have to go back and search for them. And I will, because the quality of the free product is so amazing. Maybe I sound like I'm gushing- it's just that I have never had the patience for yoga before. It was one of those things I thought I maybe "should" do. I have used this app 5 times in 7 days, and always feel amazing afterwards. UPDATE: it's over a year later, and I'm still using and loving Down Dog. I also paid for the upgrade, mostly because I wanted to support them so much, but it also unlocked some great features. I am impressed with how the app has evolved and how responsive the team is. Even when life is at its most chaotic, I can fit their 10 minute sessions in every night before I go to sleep, and longer sessions during the day whenever I can. Thank you, Down Dog!.Version: 2.0

Best Yoga app!I really look forward to my intermediate level daily yoga practice with this app, it is so easy to use. The sessions are very well put together - I am never bored with it. I tend to turn the music off as I find it distracting, but it is narrated well. Can't speak highly enough of it and have recommended it to so many friends (and random shop assistants lol :).Version: 2.6.1

I am very happyMy friend recommended me the Down Dog app in the midst of the coronavirus lock down in Bondi Australia. It has been my best ally in keeping me grounded as I am a front line worker in Mental Health. The voice used is very calming and I can notice a big difference in my body and mind only after 2 weeks. I also like that it has the option to ‘boost’ different aspects of the practice. I would recommend this application to anyone who wants a stronger body and a more settled mind, especially during these monumental times of COVID-19..Version: 4.6.1

The last yoga app you’ll ever needThis is the best yoga app. Period. With down dog, you can tailor your yoga practice to guide you with what you need. It’s all about you. Your yoga style, your pace, your music or silence… thank you down dog for transforming my practice and my life. I wouldn’t have survived without this..Version: 6.8.3

A must have appI love this app and have recommended it to several friends! I love the daily variety of practices, the music is fresh and seems to hit the spot weather I do a morning or evening session. Love love love! If you haven't downloaded it yet you are missing out!!.Version: 2.0

I never write reviews but…This app is brilliant. I started using it during COVID when my studio was closed. I honestly thought I would never be one of those people who could have a regular home practice but here I am pushing 400 hours of Down Dog. It’s really helped me get a handle on my mental health and fitness..Version: 7.0.0

Best Yoga App!I used Down Dog while they were offering the app for free due to the COVID crisis, and I fell in love. Easy to use, excellent for any level, and really the best features such as selecting the sounds/music you’d like to hear, the voice of the instructor speaking, how much the instructor says during the practice, how long the practice will be, and my personal favorite it the ability to customize the actual practice. This customizable feature is what really sets this app apart from others like it. You are able to select something specific you’d like to add a bit of focus to during your practice, such as neck stretches, flexibility, core strength, etc. Between that feature and the variety of the flows (although you can always save a practice if you really liked it and access it again) I knew as soon as I tried this app that I would remain a customer even after the free trial ended. So I just purchased the yearly and I encourage you to do this same if you are on the fence about buying this app, just do it!!! It’s worth it!.Version: 4.7.2

Yoga lovers! If you are a beginner or more advanced- this app is one of the best free ones I've tried! So simple, easy, great soundtrack, different every time and the voice over tells you exactly where you should be feeling each stretch/pose. Awesome app I use it all the time! 😊.Version: 2.0

Down Dog YogaHaving studied martial arts for years (I have two 2nd Dan black belts in different disciplines), I have always lacked my desired flexibility. Through unfortunate personal circumstances and poor mental health, I find myself VERY overweight and in need of lifestyle changes. Both my wife and I have committed to a stringent diet and shared exercise regime consisting of yoga and calisthenics (she doesn’t like karate or kickboxing…). We’re 1 week in and Down Dog Yoga is really fantastic! You can choose two priorities, we’ve picked flexibility and back strength… the program is fantastic! We both really enjoy the workouts, they are challenging yet accomplishable.. with a varied choice of focus, voices, music and much more! As an added bonus, there are other apps included in the purchase (which was about £50) including hiit, meditation, running and some more which I’ve forgotten! Hope you enjoy as much as we are!.Version: 7.3.1

Changed my lifeThis app is the one yoga app that has actually helped me stick with a regular practice. The class is different every time but with enough key asana each time that progress can occur. The images are fabulous and the verbal cueing excellent. I recommend this highly to anyone wanting to establish or maintain a regular yoga practice. A key way this is different to other yoga apps is more limited COI he but still maintaining excellent variety..Version: 2.0

Happy for over a yearI’ve started using DownDog when the coronavirus pandemic hit in early 2020 and I’ve never stopped. I especially enjoy long restorative and yin sessions. (I tried all options and I liked all of them!) I love learning new poses as well as coming back to those I already know and feel comfortable in. Even when I have weeks when I don’t feel like doing yoga at all, I know I can start again with something gentle and work up my flexibility again. That’s a big yay from me! Both the mobile app and desktop version work great, music and voice guidance are really nice. Overall, I’m one extremely happy puppy!.Version: 5.6.0

Thank you creating such an awesome app.I have started doing yoga using this app for over a month now. I tried beginner 2 but it was easy for me as I have been doing other exercises and I swim, but never tried yoga until then. I started doing intermediated 1 and I fell in love with yoga and the app. The app has very clear explanation and very easy to follow instructions. The level is challenging enough for me. I tried another yoga app for about 2 weeks before I started using down dog and this app is far more superior. I paid for the subscription and thank you for the 30% discount. I like how you can chose full practice or to focus on specific body parts , different types of yoga and different types of music and also choose the duration. The sequence of the poses never repeats. I have referred this apps to many of my friends and relatives already. My husband started doing this, he paid for the subscription as well and he loves it too. Now the part I want to be added on it to be able to adjust the time even after starting the practice. For example today, I set the practice to be 45 minutes but it went by quick and I wanted to add another 15 minutes to the current practice but I couldn’t. Please add that option. Again this is THE BEST YOGA APP..Version: 4.2.5

Best yoga you can get your hands on!My daughter recommended me the app while in lockdown, as there was a “free of charge” offer due to the pandemic. I decided to give it a go and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it, starting with the verity of choices, from duration, style, type and selection of pleasant voices (the lack of which he’s been known to stop me from using certain teachers in the past..) I thoroughly missed it once the free period expired, as unfortunately I couldn’t buy it as it doesn’t fit into my budget. So I’m overjoyed now with the new free of charge period, so I thank the developers for it:)! Not looking forward to the 15th of December when it ends:(.Version: 5.3.1

Everyone should have these apps in their life. This app has been a true lifesaver. I can not recommend it any higher. Please try it, you won’t regret it..Version: 6.1.6

The best yoga/health app everLove this app so much, I use it just about everyday. Everything about it is customisable from the time to difficulty and area to focus on. Honestly the best. I can’t recommend it enough..Version: 5.8.0

Disappointed no offline!I just paid for another year of great yoga BUT I clicked to get the most recent upgrade and now I can’t do my down dog yoga practise at my cottage where there is no internet! This used to be possible and I used it effectively whenever I was away from internet. I love my practise and I want to be able to do it every day even when away from wifi/internet. Not every place in the world ha constant and easy internet service. Why did you remove this important function??! Please explain..Version: 5.7.4

BrilliantI’ve had this app now 10 months. I am the type of person that will do some sort of activity like they gym or a class for a short time then get board and give up. This app any being able to choose how long and how intense I want it to be is fantastic. I’ve lost 7 to 8kg in this time with no other changes to my life other than taking up yoga. I did get them membership for they year that gave me access to their other apps but only used hit like twice likely just not my thing really. But I highly recommend down dog. Side note one down side I did try to get in contact with them regarding accidentally purchasing the wrong membership and if I could fix it and they never got back to me. That’s why I only gave it 4 stars..Version: 5.6.0

This app is my yoga life 💕I absolutely love Down Dog and use it every day as my daily practise. No two classes are ever the same and the instructors are amazing! For me, it is a no excuses option for yoga as if I am time poor, I can just do ten minutes. Not doing it is never an option, which is amazing! The best instructor by far is Chad! His vocal cues and tone are perfect and he has become my daily virtual instructor! An incredible talent! I’d love to see some guided meditations on the app or yoga nidra (just an idea for future expansion 😉) Thank you for creating such an incredible app and making yoga a part of my daily routine. Namaste you beautiful Down Dog humans xx.Version: 4.2.5

Almost as good as an in-person class! These classes are great and you get a different set of poses each time. Lots of room to customise your class so you get exactly what you need!.Version: 6.8.3

Turned this yoga newbie into a yoga junkieI had never tried yoga before this app... I have always been a HIIT kind of person! But when a medical condition made it dangerous for me to raise my heart rate too much, I was desperate for some physical activity I could do without the danger of stressing my body. I decided to try yoga with this app, and now I wonder why I didn't try sooner! This wonderful app walked this total yoga newbie through her first seamless, awesome 30 minute routine. I felt like I had a personal trainer the whole time. The instructions are super clear. I've now been practicing for 10 days straight and I've never once felt completely lost or confused. I've definitely noticed improvement and have even ventured into Beginner 2 practices a little 😊 I plan on using this app every day so long as it's ok with my doctor. The funny loading screens make me giggle, too. I may even seek out some classes soon... but with this app I feel like that's optional. TL;DR: converted a newbie into a junkie, get this app A++ will brew kombucha again.Version: 2.0

The best Yoga app by farIt was inevitable that one day someone would finally get it right and design the perfect Yoga app and here it is at last. I am a Yoga teacher but i regularly use this for my personal practice. It is a perfectly tailored, curated practice every time, with the opportunity to choose the style of Yoga, the intensity of the practice, the speed, the pause for breath and to hold poses, the detail & frequency of cues - it is like designing the exact teacher and class you want each time you arrive on the mat. The choice of music or background sounds is also excellent - I even came across some of the tracks I use in my own classes. I started with the free trial that was a very generous length of time however within a week of using the app I knew I would be subscribing. Not long after I received a special offer that gave a 33% discount making the Year´s subscription fantastic value at less than 30 euros and you have access to the meditation app (also excellent) plus the other apps in the Down Dog family. I couldńt be more impressed with this app, and will be recommending it to all my students and Yoga retreat attendees to help them maintain a regular practice at home..Version: 6.1.5

Downdog is a gift to human kindI love this app soooo much! They are really generous with the free features too, I haven’t needed to upgrade. The yoga routines are really good and the music is awesome I’ve discovered so many songs from my yoga work outs. They make it really easy to save your favourite songs in your streaming service of choice too. You can specify how long you want your work out to be in 5 min increments and what level of difficulty. I’ve gradually been increasing the level of difficulty and I feel a real sense of achievement about my increase in flexibility and strength. 10/10.Version: 4.5.0

TransformativeJust completed my first 30 min. Beginner session. As an on again off again, VERY tight yogi who would rather run than stretch, I have neglected going to a studio for a few years now. (Did I also mention I'm over sixty and have moderate spinal stenosis?). If I could underscore the word 'tight' it would still be an understatement. Although I've tried other apps because I can't seem to get motivated to go to my favorite studio, nothing seemed to captivate me. Wow! Enter Downdog!!! This felt just like a true studio class (especially with the music as other apps are missing this feature). Instruction was clear, video was teal life, and voice/music was perfect. I especially like that I just chose a timeframe and skill level and Downdog did the rest. It's why other apps left me cold. I don't want to put my own sequence together, I don't know how. That's why I would go to a studio! Can't say enough good things about this app without sounding like I'm on their payroll! Thank you so much for offering such a powerful tool to enhance people's quality of life! Feel like my flexibility goals are much more attainable with your app..Version: 4.2.5

Brilliant yoga appI had been using another app every morning and when its conditions changed I looked for something new. Well I couldn't be more happy. Sometimes you need a push to change and certainly something better come along. Because I do yoga as soon as I get up I start with a restorative sequence for 15-20 mins and then follow with a quick flow for 10-15 mins. The instructions are clear and I love the way a different sequence comes up. I'm 66 and absolutely love this app. It is invigorating and a great start to my day. Thank you and keep up the good work..Version: 2.0

Best yoga app hands downI utterly love this app. After trying multitudes of others, this one ticked boxes I didn’t even know I wanted to tick. Everything you need for every level yogi, every personal preference from the instructors voice to the focus of the class, duration, amount of guidance, pace and background music. To top it all off, it’s extremely affordable with a negligible annual fee which covers not only this app, but their their whole range of apps. Cannot recommend highly enough. I don’t know where I would be without DownDog..Version: 5.6.0

Practices I Can’t Stay Away FromI’ve been practicing yoga for about 4~ years now, and this was recommended to me about a year ago by a yoga teacher. It has easily become one of my favorite ways to do yoga at home! The app gives many options before you start your practice. There are lots, but to name a few: you can pick how long the practice is, what voice you’d like to be instructed in, what kind of practice whether that be Yin or a full Vinyasa Flow. One of my favorite features is that you can select music from a list of genres, and the songs match the beat of your workout! It tells you the song and artist on the screen in a non-obstructive way, and gives a song list at the end of the practice! I’ve found a lot of new favorite songs through this app! I can share practices I really liked with friends and family by sharing a link, too! The app has several notable features that I think are worth checking out for yourself! They give you a free trial to try it before you commit, and I really fell in love with it during my trial!.Version: 5.2.1

Like An Old FriendI have this app ready to go every morning before work and now I really don't like to start my day without it. I love that you can tailor the session to meet your body's needs for each day with length, pace and flow. Can't recommend highly enough!.Version: 2.0

Absolute life saverAfter a lifetime of injuries, some in the military and some of my own doing, at 52yrs of age I felt that everything was becoming more difficult physically and mentally. Then I tried the Downdog trial at the beginning of lockdown and eventually purchased a year sub. It has helped with flexibility and strength pre shoulder surgery, and six weeks after surgery I have been using restorative sessions with a gentle boost on shoulder and neck flexibility. Along with my physio the Downdog app really has been a life saver. Yoga had never been considered as an option for a unfit father of 2. I’m about to start running again. Not to the extent that I used to but more gentle runs for enjoyment. All this is due to the help Downdog has provided and all the team that has made this app what it is. Thank you..Version: 5.2.2

Great at Home YogaSo many different forms of yoga to choose from. I love the flexibility. I’m able to choose the kind of yoga to suit how I’m feeling for the day. I can also choose the length of time if I’m rushed or just want a short relaxation yoga before bed. Highly recommend!!!.Version: 7.0.0

Was 5 stars now 1 starI paid for a yearly subscription and am on my second year now. Love the app, however after the latest update it will not run on my iPad mini running iOS 14.6. It begins to startup, then freezes and crashes the iPad forcing a reboot. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app with the same result. I also tried installing it on my iPhone but it won’t let me log in. The login screen just keeps going around and around. The app won’t run!.Version: 5.7.4

Great to motivate Regular ‘time-bound’ practiceDownDog has been great App for me & friends to do regular practice to our own timeframe, ability & music. As I do it every other day I have found some sequences very repetitive so would just suggest if more variety in the sequence be available- mind you I do just go off on my own when it gets repetitive. One more thing, is it’s great that poses are outlined individually also and would be so good to select the poses I want to do and put in a sequence / session. Thanks so much for your innovation thus far..Version: 5.7.5

Great for beginners to explore yogaI started Down Dog yoga in July 2020 during quarantine. I had always wanted to do yoga and had one class 10 years ago. I love this app for three reasons: you can customize it, it offers so much variety, and you can explore yoga styles. Customizing: length of practice, amount of verbal instruction, different boosts (aerobic, hips, etc.) music type, level of “difficulty”, etc. Variety: even if you stay at the same level with the same settings, each practice is a little different so you do familiar poses but don’t get completely bored. Types of yoga: The different types allow for days when I want a full practice to days when I just want deep stretching. I paid for a subscription after the free three-week trial and have been using it several times a week ever since. I am now starting to explore DD HIIT, DD Barre, and DD Meditation, which come with my subscription. I love this app and enthusiastically recommend it. There is also a supportive community group on Facebook that helps others fine tune poses and offers encouragement..Version: 5.6.0

Best yoga appI’m absolutely amazed by the high quality of this app! I love how they combine their extensive and exercise, music and video library to come up with new routines every time. Thank you so much for this app!.Version: 4.5.1

Best yoga app everThis app is absolutely amazing. I’ve been using it for over a year, and I absolutely adore it. Is perfect for beginners (and for advanced yogis too), easy to use, you can customise your class and every single one of them is unique. You can select duration and pace, you can choose to focus on different parts of your body, change the voice of your teacher, etc. It’s totally worth buying, even if like me you’re not very consistent. I don’t use it everyday, sometimes I stop doing yoga for weeks, but I never regret paying for it. Edit: after more than two month without doing yoga, I started again with DD. As always, is absolutely perfect, but after the update is just UNBELIEVABLY HOW GREAT IT IS..Version: 4.3.1

The best virtual yoga app you will findThe great thing about Down Dog is how very customisable it is. If I sleep in in the morning or I want to quickly squeeze in a class during the day I can adjust the length of class to fit my schedule. But it's not only the length you can play with, it’s the level of difficulty, the instructor's voice, the background music (the ambient setting is a fave and even includes an instrumental track by Nick Cave) and the focus areas, so you can switch to adjust your body’s needs in the moment that you are taking the class. This is the perfect yoga app..Version: 6.1.5

For remote practitioners who want to improveBeing in a place without any yoga community and spotty internet, I tried out several yoga apps. This one is simple and elegant, and with a focus on improving your practice. Never boring and easy to grow your skill. I feel it’s really aimed at people who really want to practice yoga as an integral part of well-being, instead of just another type of superficial workout. The coaching voice is so soothing and I keep it on full instruction to take advantage of the timely reminders to self-correct. The generated videos are ridiculously seamless, and shows the transitions between the poses clearly. And, required for me, you can download sequences to use offline. It is not overwhelming with unnecessary bells and whistles. Their beginner app is a delight as well and is a great introduction (or re-introduction) for those who may not have recently been on the mat. The one thing I could recommend may be the option to have a chime or bell when it’s time to transition to the next pose as a cue to look at the screen. But overall, this has been the first yoga app I have stuck with since the dawn of iphones. Thank you!.Version: 4.2.5

Best yoga app ever - saving me money and time!I have been a fair weather yogi mainly because of time and money...living in LA has many varieties of yoga, but parking and traffic make it had to justify the cost sometimes. This app has been a godsend. I started with the free app, and decided within a month to just cough up the $20 for a year to be able to customize the practice...and I wasn’t disappointed! In fact, I was overly impressed how much focus (and variety) the shoulder practice has, I’m sure it has helped my shoulder pain immensely. And because I mainly do my yoga practice with my eyes closed, I also love the step by step instruction (but with the premium you can turn this off if it’s not for you!) While there is no teacher to correct your poses, I have been to too many studios where it is overcrowded and they never get to you anyway. So for the cost of 1(!) yoga class, you can have hundreds at your disposal, anytime, anywhere, minus the traffic and parking! Do yourself a favor and download this app! Your body will thank you!.Version: 2.0

Just wonderful!I love it! It is a perfect app! I love it! I have everything to practice yoga by my own! Love it so much! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🤍🤍🤍.Version: 6.9.0

FantasticLook, it’s expensive! But worth it. Much effort has been put into this app & it really pays off. You can target areas you want to work on and it feels like you’re in a class. Also, don’t panic if you continuously want to target the same areas, down dog mixes it up every session. Alternatively, you can choose a session of poses you liked the most and save it. Multiple choices on speed, expertise level, instruction, music + more. Tailor it to your needs and give it a go. I had a free trial, I highly recommend checking it out..Version: 5.2.2

Wonderful appThis is the best yoga app on the market. I love that I can tailor the sequence to my requirements. I also love the ethics of the company (free periods during Covid, free or subsidised for certain groups - although I didn’t qualify). I go through on and off periods but every time I return, I remember why! Highly recommend. I would like to ask if there could be a sequence / tailoring for pregnant women though. Not so keen on the strength training option as for me, this veers into aerobics territory which is no any I signed up to the app. But all in all, 9.75 out of 10 (would get a 10 if pregnancy yoga was an option). Thanks for being such an amazing brand - quality and ethically..Version: 6.5.1

Good app but the description of difficulty levels seems completely wrong. If you’re a true beginner like myself, then pretty much everything over the lowest settings will seem advanced. Even after several months of practice I find I can’t really do more than the beginner modes and even beginner 2 can be too much, making me skip poses. It would help if the instructor would give you alternative poses to get the desired stretch. Maybe it’s a slower process than I’m envisioning but some of the poses in beginner modes have the model bending like a pretzel, touching toes, head down by their ankles, full splits. It’s honestly hilarious the expectation that a complete beginner can do some of the chosen poses with the speed and repetition (even on the slowest, most descriptive settings possible) going on in this app. It’s admittedly very discouraging. I wish you could remove certain poses from your practice because some of them I just know I will never be able to achieve. TLDR: This app is great for intermediate and maybe advanced people. This app is hardly beginner friendly but I have still enjoyed it as a complete beginner. Worth it, all things considered but I don’t think all beginners would like it..Version: 6.8.2

Worth every pennyI had tried yoga before, and even got to the point that I went about 1x per week for about 6 months. But for lots of reasons, I stopped for several years. About 2 years ago, I really hurt my back, and my doctor said part of the problem was my core was weak. I did some physio, but I never really was able to stick with it because the repetitive nature made it really boring. Then I got Down Dog. I do about 30 min of yoga ~5x a week because it is so crazy convenient. Only have 20 min? It can do that. Want to make it harder? Sure, no problem. Want to focus on something specific (like core strength)? Yup. Want less direction, or more description of what you’re trying to do? It’s got that too. And on top of all that, it’s got a real person doing the poses, so you can see what it’s supposed to look like. This app has everything you want and some things you probably don’t know you want. I can’t say enough good things about it..Version: 7.0.0

Download option removedI’ve been using Down Dog for over a year and absolutely loved the app. They have removed the download feature though, which will will make impossible for many to practice if the internet is not great. It would really be nice to practice outdoors but they exchanged this for a better video quality, which, to be honest, doesn’t maje any difference to the practice..Version: 5.7.0

So good for meDark days need some light. Thank you for the free months of yoga, it truly is a blessing. Wonderful varied classes, with video or without. Big recommend..Version: 4.5.1

Thank you for this life saving appSo much gratitude to the creators of this app and all the hard work you put into serving the community with an incredible app. The music all the modifications you can add, everything is on point. I do miss the new people saying “thank you for sharing your practice with us”. May God bless the team. You guys rock from a very tired mom that finds great comfort in her silly little yoga practice at the end of the long days..Version: 6.9.0

Kept me going while in lockdownThis app saved my mental health during lockdown. It’s simple to follow and complete with different versions depending on what you feel like doing on the day, stretches, relaxation or cardio..Version: 6.0.0

Fabulous yoga experience on your own termsI absolutely love this app. Missing out on going to yoga classes every day during lockdown and with a new baby was really tough, but using this wonderful app I have been able to practice at a time that suits me without sacrificing on quality instruction. Every yoga flow is different keeping it interesting, while building on previous poses so you feel like you’re improving. You can also choose which body areas you would like to focus on. I really like how the music is built into the practice, flowing seamlessly in pace and intensity. I’ve been able to get my core strength and flexibility back and then some, all at my own speed! I’m so happy I purchased the yearly subscription, I’d do it again in a heartbeat..Version: 4.9.0

StunningI’m getting better after having been ill for over a decade. I wanted to find a great yoga app to gently strengthen my body. I was about to do my hours of research but saw the reviews on here. Everyone seemed to have tried all the yoga apps available and said this was the best. So thank you to those people, I didn’t even need to do any research. I had the perfect app instantly. This is such a wonderful app, it’s a joy to work with every day, the poses, the music. Everything is shown in step by step photos and the final bit where you just breathe is so calming. I love how you can choose sessions to strengthen different aspects of your body. I can only do three minutes but I can’t wait until I’m strong enough to do the longer sessions..Version: 2.4.1

Best app availableI used many yoga apps but this one is definitely the best! I have paid for the full version and I don't regret it at all ! It kept me active during the lock down and still does 😍.Version: 5.6.0

Great supporting yoga practiceIf you’ve been doing yoga for a while, know most of your yoga poses, and don’t need someone to adjust and correct, this is a great app. It would also work well if you can’t get to as many weekly classes as you want. This supplements well as you don’t learn poses so much as practice in a nice flowing manner. I stopped yoga some years back when I went to switch classes and couldn’t find a convenient, good place to go. I found this app a year ago and used it as a great way to gradually get back into yoga. I started on level 1 and just did as many minutes as I had time for each day, so long as I did some. Some days I did 7min, others 12min or 15min. I didn’t feel guilty if I only did a little bit. It all counts. I quickly regained my flexibility, strength and remembered most of the poses, so moved up the levels and amount of time in practice. I experiment some days with other forms of practice if I just want a change, and I play with the boost sections. The flexibility is really helpful. I have recommended this app to many people. I have recommended it to people who haven’t done much yoga as it is pretty gentle and safe on the lower levels. I say to go to an instructor to learn fully as well as doing the app as you really do need someone showing you how to do things safely and correctly, even if it is not every practice. This app has worked for me as it is so convenient. Enjoy..Version: 4.7.0

Amazing! My physiotherapist recommended that I start to do yoga classes every week to work on my pelvic floor and hips, but instead I opted for this app which has been amazing!! Only a tiny cost compared to attending classes and you can do it in the comfort of your own home. It allows you to specifically choose what kind of yoga style you want, what kind of music, voice, length of session, level (beginner/advanced etc), and best of all what kind of stretches you want to target; I chose the hips stretches category. Would highly recommend 😊.Version: 4.4.8

Life changingI started to use this app at the beginning of last year when COVID locked most of us away in our homes, I was an essential worker and spent a lot of that time being extremely uncertain and filled with anxiety, this app helped me learn a whole new world of relaxation and positivity through practicing yoga almost everyday. This app and the beginner app are amazing for people who are only just beginning their journey into yoga and also those who are more advanced, the amount of control you have over all of the settings is amazing, I have just started to play around with the other apps in the Down Dog range and so far I’m impressed with those too!.Version: 5.6.0

Brilliant appI’ve tried a number of fitness apps before and not one of them has actually made me want to do any exercise before due to always having some sort of pay wall. This app has been a heathen sent for my health, there’s no pay wall you have access to all the main feature for free and get a free trial of the extra features for long enough to actually judge if you want to continue paying without requiring to put in payment info first or anything like that. I’m a complete beginner and found it easily to follow because the instructions given are very clear, the woman’s voice is soothing, and the pictures shown allow for a little extra guidance to make sure you’re doing it right and with the slow and slowest pacing options it gives plenty of time to correct postures before having to go on to the next move. The music playing in the background is brilliantly chosen, the boost options really allow you to focus on exactly what you want, and you get a completely different routine every time so you never get bored of it. I honestly cannot rate this app highly enough..Version: 2.4.4

Down Dog has changed my lifeI discovered Down Dog as many through the COVID Pandemic and loved it from the start. With a busy life of university and full time job I couldn’t keep up with the routine anymore as well not being able to afford the subscription anymore, until I discovered that Down Dog had extended the free membership to students and teachers! This is so amazing, thank you Down Dog team for caring so much for our mental health in such difficult times!.Version: 6.2.1

Best yoga app yet,Great choice of everything from voice, music, level, length and type of yoga workout. The only thing that could possibly make this better is if it were able to be used offline as well. I recommend it to everyone..Version: 3.1.3

GratefulI’m very thankful to have the opportunity to use this app. I couldn’t afford the full version but the people from down dog let me tell them my story and I received the full version for free for a period of time plus a discount when I’m ready to join . I’ve struggled with addiction most of my life . During those times the only thing that gave me any relief was exercise . One day my best friend , my wife , introduced me to yoga . It gave me something my soul yearned for . Yoga along with the love of my wife and family gave me something bigger than myself to believe in. I couldn’t afford classes anymore and I took time off for a hip replacement . That’s when I discovered Down Dog. With so many choices of what I want to focus on and with the beautiful music and soothing instruction from the teachers I don’t need a yoga studio . When I can’t sleep at night I’ll come out and practice yoga on my own. It helps me settle down . I don’t seep a lot due to trauma and the damage to my brain from drugs . But Yoga helps me . It helps me sleep . It quiets my mind during the day. It puts me in touch with emotions I could never seem to get out . I am very grateful to everyone involved in the down dog community . To me This app is definitely worth the membership . Thank you all and thank you to my beautiful for giving me a reason Down Dog is changing my life.Version: 6.1.6

My gym is where ever I roll out my mat.I love this app. I can take it anywhere with me. I roll out my mat and that is my gym. I have taken this app caravanning with me over three months around Australia and it has made it so easy to keep up my fitness on the road and relaxed me even more. Over the space of 18 months being a complete beginner my yoga has improved to your advanced level. My core strength is stronger now than before having kids. Thank you for a great easy to use app that has grown with my advances and kept me challenged and interested..Version: 2.6.1

Stranger thingsSo here’s something I never thought I would be doing and even stranger, love doing and doing it d ally for about 1.5 hours! I am 54 , running addict, have run 26 marathons , countless lower distances and 4 ultra distances, I have attended boot camps and gym classes galore but always shined away from yoga.....what a fool! Since COVID enforced lockdown limited me to just running I knew I needed to try something and I cannot tell you why but I decided yoga was it. I googled best yoga apps and found myself torn between two....Downdog being one, I took the free trials and have not looked back , I love it! I am very stiff and had back surgery 8 years ago so struggle a little with some of the poses but I am persevering and can see I am improving on flexibility and strength....I am delighted and it is helping me not only with lockdown but with running and now even my children are joining in.....thank you x.Version: 4.8.4

The best yoga appI can’t say enough. It lets you customize pretty much everything. This is the best yoga app. Worth every penny..Version: 7.0.0

Best App for YogaI would like to state that I usually do not write reviews for any app, but I feel this one deserves a HUGE review for changing my lifestyle. I downloaded this app during quarantine because my gym closed and I needed something to do. I am a teacher, so I experienced a high level of stress and anxiety during this shutdown and thought yoga might help. This app changed my life! The easy to use platform and the gradual increase of difficulty had transformed my flexibility, stress, and mental health. I use this app every day before work to help me wake up and get refreshed. I recommend this app to every teacher and have referred much of my school staff to this app. I will be using it for life and will continue to tell every teacher the benefits of this app on your life. I have even used some of the poses and breathing techniques on my students and have seen a huge transformation on their overall stress, energy, and focus. Teachers MUST get this app to help with their stress and overall mental health. It is a lifesaver and it is free right now! Thank you Down Dog for supporting teachers and creating an app that helps our health and budgets! You are amazing!.Version: 5.6.0

Best app ever!*Update 9/3 As a yoga instructor this is my favorite app to continue a personal practice which can be difficult sometimes. I use it to explore different types of yoga and I love the added Yoga Nidra! Having prenatal anxiety I struggled to find an affordable app to help me with a guided meditation. This is the perfect option and I love being able to customize my Nidra to what I want to focus on!! I love this app! I don't have a lot of time to go to a studio class because of work, nor do I have a lot of money to go to the studio everyday. This app allows me to really enjoy yoga on my own time and if I only have the strength to do 15 minutes for restorative flow this app allows me to do it all! Quick on your feet flow when I'm rushing in the morning with the flexibility to allow me to do 90 minute flow on the weekends with full practice. I would recommend this app to anyone new or advanced. The app grows with you and has amazing advance features when you become a member! The music is amazing. The new advanced technology is really making the app accessible for all levels with a change in options for instructional voices with different styles. Love it!.Version: 5.8.0

Love this appI don't write a lot of reviews but - having used my fair share of yoga apps - I wanted to share my love for Down Dog. I like that it doesn't constrain you to a programme but still manages to offer variety in its sessions - even when you select the same thing time after time. The music is great - I keep finding myself saving some of the songs for later. I'm very tempted to give the paid version of the app a try just to see what difference it makes. My only suggestions for improvement would be to connect the app to Apple Health so that it can write exercise and calories data. And possibly to add a boost focused on weight loss or cardio. All in all, this is my favourite yoga app and I'm very happy that I stumbled upon it because it's so easy to get a yoga session going - even when you don't have a lot of time ❤️.Version: 2.0

What keeps my back and ankle from falling apartI have been practicing yoga on and off for over 10 years; it began when I walked into a pilates class and the substitute only knew yoga. After years of practicing at the gym I began looking for an app to do anywhere, as my kids are older and their schedules do not coincide with the gym’s all the time. This is the third app I have use for yoga and I have had it for several years. I have lower back issues due to a fall in my early twenties and now scar tissue on my right ankle from missing a step; the wrong move and either injury can leave me out of commission for days. Thanks to this app and its use on a regular basis I have been able to control my ankle issues to the point I don’t need a cane anymore (I am 51yrs old) and I can lift, twist and bend my back with no issues. I love the flexibility that this app gives in terms of time, type of practice and ability to focus on particular areas. The videos are good quality and help double check posture; the verbal instructions are detailed and are great reminders to keep double check how am doing. Well worth the money, only app I need..Version: 5.5.0

Best way to start the dayI’ve never felt healthier than when I started using this app every morning as soon as I wake up. It’s so accessible and easy to use, plus the customization is incredible. Cannot recommend enough!.Version: 6.6.0

A really professional app and a pleasure to use. This is a really first rate app and much better than my expectations based on other similar apps. It’s just like having your own highly-skilled instructor gently take you through the sequence of poses at exactly the right speed, neither too fast to keep up nor too slow to keep the flow going. The instructor has a marvellously calming voice, and the music is a wonderful addition. Too often I find the supposedly ‘calming’ music in meditation or sleep-enhancing apps is actually thoroughly irritating and uncalming, but not here. It doesn’t intrude, but forms a sort of supportive sound scape that adds to the whole experience. I can’t judge how well the poses are suited to each person’s ability but the ‘Beginner 2’ level that I chose to start with seems to me to be very well suited to someone with a little yoga experience, perhaps even from some time ago as in my case, who wants to pick it up again and progress further. I am genuinely impressed with the whole thing and can’t imagine anyone not finding this a thoroughly professional app that is a pleasure to use..Version: 4.8.1

Simple easy and relaxingA really fantastic way to do yoga at home and I have recommend this app to many people. It’s only down side is that when doing an unfamiliar transition through a sequence, the video may not be showing from your start position making it tricky but this is only nit picking.Version: 2.6.1

Highly recommend!Have recommended this app to all my friends and family, and they all have been using it since. Love that you can choose your level of experience, and your choice of music which I have shazamed almost every song that comes up, probably not recommended while you are doing your practice but pretty sure the app also provides the list of songs that were played if you were interested. It’s a thumbs up for me!.Version: 5.6.0

Worth the moneyIt gives you access to three different types of training, and you can adjust the time/level/hardship, and honestly I’ve been using 2 weeks and its such a game changer. I hard a hard time getting myself to workout because i didnt know what excersizes to do, or i would repeat the same ones and it was quite boring. But with the app is so simple because they come up with excersizes themselves and everyday its a different combination. And idk I just really enjoy it, so much better than a gym membership cuz i would litterally never have the motivation to get dressed and go somewhere to excersize, I find it so much easier with the app cuz I can just do it in the peace and quiet of my home so it is easier to hype myself to do it..Version: 6.4.0

Free version goneI’ve been using the free version for a number of years and now it’s gone. That’s sad. The subscription is too expensive and there’s not as many options as there used to be. It’s a good platform tho..Version: 5.6.0

BrillLove this app! It can be difficult for all of us to find the time to exercise but you can do this anywhere and choose a length of time anywhere between 10 and 90 mins. I’ve now got the full version (on offer - thank you downdog 😊) but the free version is pretty good anyway. On the free version you can choose the level of verbal instruction (I need a lot of guidance), the voice of the person and the music. There’s also a wide range of yoga types to choose from, I like the restorative after a hard day to stretch and relax ready for bed, and the full practice to feel like I’ve done a proper workout. In the full version I think there are a few more options in the list above plus you can focus on a certain body area, eg back stretches, glute strength, hip flexor, neck stretches...... Honestly can’t recommend this enough..Version: 4.8.4

Brilliant for meI reviewed this app previously when I downloaded it for the ‘free during April’ trial. But love it so much I’ve just purchased a year’s subscription. Slight technical issue when switching to the new subscription - fantastic, prompt communication and it was resolved really quickly. I love that you can really tailor this app to your mood and body. You can pick the type of yoga, length of the practice, and a focus for the session if you wish. You can even change the voice and music if you want to. It would be nice to be able to select certain postures to leave out to really tailor completely, but (a) you can swipe past them to move on and (b) not like you could do that in a yoga class anyway. I love that even if you select the same options, it gives you a different sequence each time, but also the option to save a workout if you love it, so you can repeat it in the future. My motivation is generally pretty poor, but this app has really kept me interested and I have felt so much better since doing it regularly. Comfortably the best thing I’ve ever downloaded..Version: 4.7.0

Perfect app except one thingI absolutely love this app. Everything about it is perfect. Except, I wish that the screen would flip orientation during a session. Once you start a session, you can’t rotate the screen which is very frustrating with my phone case stand. But overall it’s a minor thing. I hope it eventually gets fixed..Version: 5.2.1

The best yoga app I’ve used!Down Dog is completely immersive and actually quite a beautiful experience. I feel supported and guided, relaxed and positive just like I do when I go and take a class. Finally an app that is as good as or even better taking a class. There’s no need to think about which pose to do, for how long, when to breath, how to adjust the body.. With calming music and a gentle guiding voice, all that extra thinking is replaced with meditation. You are able to specify the kind of class you want to take, its length and quite a few other things to personalise the practice but most of the work is done for you. I’ll never bother with any other yoga app. I really look forward to my practice every day with Dawn Dog. Thankyou!.Version: 4.2.5

The perfect appSo many aspects you can personalize ! The course can be adjusted for every type of yoga lover.Version: 7.0.0

ExceptionnelJ’adore cette application. Tous les réglages disponibles, les options de voix, de temps, de musique. Bref, c’est une application bien complète et toutes les suites de Downdog sont des applications superbe! Merci ♡.Version: 7.0.0

So goodThis app just keeps getting better. I love the fully customizable yoga practices. So perfect and convenient! And what a deal compared to the studio, wow..Version: 7.0.0

Cast to TVI am unable to cast to TV from this app. I have followed the trouble shooting advice for multiple devices and OS’ and I am unable to do so through this app.. Other apps cast to TV and this one does not. It would be 5 stars if it was not for this inconvenience. Thank You!.Version: 5.2.0

I can yoga now!!Before trying this app I ran. I would run for 30-40 minutes a day, trying to lose weight and get back in shape (I took a couple years off with four kids at home). I’m 37, and running just wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do. My legs were slim and toned, but my back and upper body were weak and without definition. My friend suggested yoga. With four kids and two jobs (and a husband who travels), going to a studio every day was out of the question. I downloaded this app based on the reviews and tried the first two free classes and was hooked! I started at beginner 1 and I’m now up to beginner 2 (a month later). I try and do one workout a day, but sometimes miss a day or two. I do this in my living room or family room with the kids with me or joining me for parts- it’s so unbelievably easy to do at home! And after a month, I’m able to do most of the moves on my level and I feel stronger. I’m seeing a difference in my arms and back, and I’m so happy that I have this app to help me get a powerful workout in at home. I cannot recommend anything more. If you’re thinking about this- don’t hesitate. You’ll love it..Version: 3.7.0

Amazing varietyI’ve been using Down Dog for a few years now and I’m constantly amazed by the flexibility of the program and the variety of both choices and what is offered in each class. Great support and options at every level. Try it if you haven’t yet!.Version: 7.0.0

A gem of an appI do yoga at home 3, 4 times a week. I love this app because I can adjust it to my day, make a long or a short session of it, increase difficulty or repeat what I know, depending on how I feel. The voice and music are soothing, I frequently let the music play even after the session to stay in the zen mood. The fact that I don’t have to go anywhere and that I can make sessions 20 minutes long rather than a full hour means that I can use it in the morning before work and use it more often than I would in a shala. This has helped me build up strength and flexibility that I didn’t think I would be able to reach. Thank you Downward Dog, you made the world a better place..Version: 6.2.1

Getting old? DO YOUR YOGA!I’m 27 but I feel old because I don’t do the things I know I should to take care of my body and allow me to be active when I’m 90. The days I do though, I do at least 15 minutes of yoga on Down Dog it always feels amazing and makes me know this is one of the things that will allow me to maybe get to that age. Ladies and gentlemen! DO MORE YOGA!.Version: 7.0.0

Yoga every day! This app is awesome and I've been doing yoga everyday since I got it. It ticks all the boxes- great variety, talks you through the poses in a human way (don't need to look) and with video that fits the talking if you need it, the boosts give you the option to focus on areas, you can skip the music if you don't like it, and get a unique session every time. The voice is even relaxing and the music is not repetitive 😊 I love this app and I can do it pro for a whole month all for the price of one class!! Or for free without the boosts, so awesome thank you!!!.Version: 2.0

BeginnersI have cycled through so many apps and finally found this one after months of searching. I have never been the type to do yoga or anything of the sort ( trust me) but following a traumatic loss of a loved one and physically just being riddled with body, back, neck and arm pain from years of hard labor (roofing, tiling and now a chef) my body as a whole felt like it was falling apart. At first I gave simple beginner yoga a try and just the way either the person was instructing or the moves they were doing felt beyond what I could do at the time so I kinda was starting to give up. I gave this one a try and I gotta say it’s easy to follows the female instructors voice I chose to follow is clear in instructions and just all around soothing to hear the movements have helped me 10 fold my body hurts less my anxiety about my health has lessened since really starting this I recommend to anyone it is worth whatever plan you chose to pay. The only single thing I have found wrong is that sometimes the track playing in the background while listening to headphones every once in a while lags a bit but honestly I’m just the type that notices little things like that but the music and background noise is so soothing to listen too I recommend this app to anyone at any age!!!.Version: 6.8.3

Down Dog is amazing!Loove this app so much! Helps so much with getting back in tune with my breath and my body.Version: 7.0.0

Had it for years, wouldn’t choose any otherI have had a subscription to Down Dog for years now, and have used it off and on. I love that the subscription gives me access to all of their apps, and the variety within the yoga app gives me interesting, guided workouts at home. I hope to use it a lot more this year!.Version: 7.3.1

It does the job for me!I like how I can customize the practice options. Length, focus on a body part or function, type of music, speed, instructor, and more. I have mine on beginner 1 and still find some of the pose suggestions a bit advanced. I wish like most classes I’ve been to in person they had instruction that started basic, and then options to increase the postures (the video instructors are able to perform them well so if I can’t bend or move like they can it’s hard to know the right but “lesser” pose options. As a beginner I love the reminders for breathing sprinkled in as well as reminders to adjust the posture so you are getting it correct. Sometimes the flows seem repetitive with a LOT of down dog, plank, up dog, down dog sequences in a row - but maybe this is a style I’m just not familiar with in the “in person” classes I’ve taken. I love that you can also lengthen shavasana at the end or even remain listening if you forgot to lengthen it. Overall the app is a deal if you buy in during the holidays and works great for an at home option to get you through the week of you can’t make or can’t afford a group lesson..Version: 3.7.0

Yoga every night!!I begun to do yoga almost every day thanks to down dog. It gives a nice ending to my day (i replaced watching tv with doing yoga in the evening now and feel much better). I really enjoy the level and choice of poses. With the gradual change in my practice session I am feeling progression and little boredom or repetition. The voice overs are calming (I use carina) and I can choose the length, music, focus and style. I very rarely give reviews but I really feel like this is one of the best apps on my phone. I definitely feel gratitude towards it..Version: 4.2.5

Super App!Had this app for almost 5 years! I never subscribe for that long to any app. You set the style, pace, the area you want to focus on, time & more. It’s personalized for you. Save your favourite routines too! Very reasonably priced🩵you will love it!.Version: 7.0.0

Been using since 2017One of the best apps by far for yoga. I like the way the app brings together all the poses. Sure there have been changes since 2017 but the core structure of it has stayed the same since then. There has been more variety of voices to choose from. You can customise how long you want your savasana to be etc. I find that if I use it every day my well-being becomes better. I sleep better, start becoming more aware of my diet. I become more aware of my muscle movement and am mindful with how I move when doing strenuous activities. They even have a prenatal yoga which I did try and isn’t too harsh on the body. Did it for 1st and 2nd trimester though.. 3rd trimester I became too tired..😅 Hope you guys have fun and plenty of relaxing moments using this app..Version: 6.3.2

3 free trials then monthly or yearly subscriptionAfter the free trials I knew I had to have the app. I subscribed directly online not via the App Store which was so much cheaper. I love the app is easy to follow and has enough variety that I'm doing it everyday and I so look forward to it..Version: 3.6.1

Best Yoga App Ever!A few years ago, I bought a lifetime membership for this app and I’ve been enjoying it ever since! I had tried A LOT of other yoga apps and none come even close to comparing to this one. The unique process-generated programming of this app allows you to customize a workout according to your needs and preferences—everything from how much voice instruction, to what parts of the body you want to give extra attention to, and from the style and pace of the movements to the style of background music. Heck, you even can choose the exact amount of time you want to workout—and the voice that you want to give you the instruction. In other apps, one has to scroll endlessly and select a program you think best fits what you want and need, but in this app—no scrolling—just select your options for a unique workout that meets your every need every time. No distractions and no scrolling—no nonsense! Just Yoga!.Version: 6.7.0

EXCELLENT! I would not change anything about it!I have only recently begun to go to yoga classes at the local gym. I'm having trouble keeping up with the "Flow" class, and wanted something that I could use at home to up my game. Loving this app! One great thing about it is the number of levels you can choose from (Beginner 1, Beginner 2, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, and Advanced) before you start each practice. There are also 3 types of yoga to choose from and different lengths of time. That's great for me because sometimes I want to try a 45 minute "Flow", and sometimes when I'm quite busy I can take 10 or 15 minutes to do a "Restorative" practice to just relax. Once you have chosen all of the options you want (Type, Level, Time, Pace, and Music Playlist Type) the sequence is generated for you and you're ready to begin. And, even choosing all of the same options, I have never had the same practice twice. This app is a winner all around!!! (Note: I only have the free version of this app. I'm not sure what purchasing the membership "unlocks" for you.).Version: 2.0

Best app for yogaI started off with this app a little over a year ago when I wanted to start meditating and centering my mind due to anxiety. I didn’t want to go to yoga classes because they are very expensive and I was afraid of looking dumb and inflexible. I practiced each day for at least 10 min for about 3 months, I then saw a deal on Groupon for some classes at a local yoga studio and I bought it. After the first class the teacher came up to me and said they were happy to see a new face and that they hoped they see me again. They asked me if I had been practicing long and I informed them that I had been practicing for about three months, they then asked WHAT STUDIO I WENT TOO!? Hahah they were surprised when I said it was a app. Down dog! I recommend this app to all my friends and family who want to start their yoga journey. I had their free version on my phone for about 8 months, I now have the paid version because I trusted the app and was willing to pay a small price compared to what i would pay at a yoga studio each month. I was prepared to deepen my practice, and I knew this app would help. Now here I am a year and a half later, loving this app still (using this for a majority of my practice) and anxious to be attending a yoga institute in July 2018 to become a yoga teacher! I love yoga and I Love this app. I cannot stress that enough!.Version: 2.6.1

3 days so far and 5 starsI made a commitment to myself to start doing yoga but I didn’t know where to start. I actually have Fitbit premium so I tried a couple of their guided sessions and they were just way too fast. I found this app after a google search for “slow yoga” and as a complete 100% beginner, the slowest setting on this app is perfect for me. Today is my 3rd day, I’ve been doing the most basic Sun salutations flow and I can already feel myself becoming more flexible and comfortable/familiar with some of the yoga poses. I think the one thing that would make this app better is if there was a library of poses with instructions on how to do them/tips on good form. The instructions in the videos are helpful but I found that downward dog, one of the foundational yoga poses, was very hard for me. I am not very flexible (yet) and I thought my stiff hamstrings were limiting me. It wasn’t until I googled more about the pose that I started doing it right and focusing less on getting my heels to the floor and more on making sure my hips, core, and shoulders were all where they were supposed to be. I’m a cheapskate but I have a feeling that after my free trial I’ll be purchasing the subscription! Yoga is fun!.Version: 6.4.0

IncroyableDifficile de faire mieux! Super complet, l’investissement vaut la peine!.Version: 7.0.0

Fantastic app!I have never written a review for an app before but I am so impressed with down dog that I felt I had to share how great it is. I genuinely look forward to doing a yoga practice every day now , it never gets boring because every session is different, I love how you can choose how long you want a session to last and even which voice you have talking you through your session , you can also choose the music you have which is great. I started off using the app to help me with anxiety and depression which it has really helped with because I find just taking as little as 10 minutes to do some yoga when you can completely switch off from all that’s going on around you and just focus on the movement and breathing is so calming . I’ve also been amazed how flexible I have become in about a month of starting to use this app . I can’t recommend it highly enough !!.Version: 4.7.0

Tailored to Your NeedsI had been using Down Dog for a while and liked it so much I decided to pay the yearly subscription for access to all of their apps - I am excited to try out their Barre app this week. The best feature of Down Dog is you can ADJUST almost everything: - music volume vs instructor’s voice - a new practice is created everyday, OR you can “heart” a particular routine you like and choose to do it again from your list of favorites - style of music - length of practice (in minutes) - pace (slower or faster) - style or focus of your practice (salutations, aerobic, flexibility, core strength, backbends etc) - amount of directions! (I love that they offer a level where they just say the name of the pose! But I used to use the level where they explained everything about each pose when I first got into yoga so I could really learn the correct postures.) One suggestion I have would be to see if they could add one more feature where you could select a body part that is injured or weak so that the yoga practice would omit certain poses based on that feedback. Or if they could add a section where they have explanations of ways to adjust for those injuries (like articles or pictures or videos), or tips on how to strengthen those areas, that would be really cool! I am not injured, but I think it would be pretty cool to have a section where they show you how to “train” to build up strength or flexibility to reach certain poses..Version: 5.0.0

Best app everI’ve recently subscribed to this app before the free trial ended and I can honestly say it’s the most interactive incredible app I’ve ever had. As a Pilates teacher who also has years experience if yoga and fitness, sometimes you just want to be taught and virtually all other apps I’ve tried have not been worthwhile! Fantastic yoga sequences with multiple options for making it your perfect workout like area of body focus, teacher voice etc plus customer service has been excellent, very supportive and quick to respond. I’m looking forward to trying the other apps if they’re anything like as excellent as this. 10 out of 10 from me 👏.Version: 5.8.0

Has now replaced my other yoga appsI downloaded this app about 3 months ago and when I opened it, it looked so impressive I thought there was no way it could be free without a catch so left it and went back to my old trusty yoga app. Last week that went full monthly subscription and lost my respect!! So I thought I’d give Down Dog a go!! It’s so lovely. The instructions have actually helped me improve asanas I thought I was already on point with. It’s fully instructed without being over the top, the music is beautiful. The mix of classes is great. You can go for full sweaty body workout or a 15 minute restorative stretch. I honestly have had a good think to come up with something negative to balance this review and I can’t! Don’t hesitate just download. Namaste 🧘🏻‍♀️.Version: 2.5.1

Generous and effective appIt took me a little while to get used to the guidance as it can feel a bit impersonal since I think each class is made up of a series of clips narrating poses (as opposed to a more intentional class (eg “Creativity flow” or “Stress reducing flow”)). I was with Gaia before and was expecting something similar... This is a bit more like yoga poses on shuffle but I’ve grown to really enjoy it. It also takes me right into my practice instead of scrolling through videos for 10 minutes before deciding on one (which is what I do when I have too many options). The fact that the free version feels like a complete app on its own is another plus. So grateful for this generous and effective app!.Version: 3.1.2

Excellent Yoga AppI tried this app on a friends recommendation as I had been using a different one for quite awhile. This app is way above any other yoga app I have tried. It has many choices for difficulty level, even more selections for type of practice and time (full, short etc) with times ranging from 12 minutes to 110 minutes. The spoken instructions are easy to understand. The upgrade to buy after the trial is to change the type of music as well as having a certain "boost" such as hamstring opening, heart opening, strength etc and it very may well be worth the $50 for the year. What I love the most is that no two classes are ever exactly the same. It generates new sequences and keeps the practice fresh. The other app I was using had static classes, and while that worked, I much prefer this app with the ability to have a different class every time. My only complaint on the free version is that the default music "alt beats" is very loud and often drowns out the spoken instructions. I sent feedback to the developer about this so we will see if they change that or at least allow a bit more volume control with the unpaid version. This app is so smooth and simple to use, kudos to the instructor and the developer on a job very well done!.Version: 2.0

The Best Yoga App Around* Free * Better night sleep * Lower stress levels * Less anxious * More flexible * Greater clarity and focus * Breathing :-) I was looking for an app that tackled the above but also could grow with my Yoga experience and ability, can offer more than one type of yoga (love the Restorative practice on DD), is easy to follow and is relaxing. Downward Dog has been perfect! Every night I light my candles and do a 10, 15 or 20 min restorative yoga before bed (I’ve even converted some of my guests to DD after they’ve done bedtime restorative yoga with me). I love the music played throughout (which can be tailored or turned off- but I love it) and if there are any yoga moves I need further clarity on, I can go on to their You Tube video. With regards to the music, if there are any tunes you like, at the end of the session you can view the playlist and then buy the tracks online. The lady who instructs the yoga sessions has a nice calm soothing voice - which surprising is hard to find on yoga apps. Can’t recommend DD enough. It’s made me sleep better, reduced my stress levels and as a bonus helping me stay slim and trim. Once I’m more advanced in yoga thanks to DD, I’ll definitely be upgrading to their subscription package - cheaper and better than the yoga classes I’ve been to in the past..Version: 2.3.2

The best yoga appI have over the years used many different types of yoga app and this one is the one. I highly recommend it to friends whether they are new to yoga or more experienced it works for all..Version: 6.1.6

Peace, Love & Joy 🤍I’ve been using downdog since 2019 and that was from knowing 0 about yoga at all to where I can humbly say I’m confident to run some routines in my practice as a PT. However, that’s not even the best part about the app. Above the fact that it’s highly customisable and you really feel like you are in a 1on1 session always and there’s no pressure to try hit possess with perfection when you first encounter them. For the last 3 years I’ve been recommending all my PT clients to download this app to accompany the work we do in the gym 😊 think of it this way a standard yoga class depending where you come from will cost you up to $120…. The yearly subscription for downdog is only a fraction of that 😁 Lastly, I believe the app is ran by the most amazing humans 🤍🤍 I went through a period where cash was tight in my life, and I’d gone 2 months without a sub. I spoke with the support team and they understood my situation and gave me free access to the practices until I got back on my feet 🥹🥹 Best virtual experience out there and I hope as many people can get to experience this app 🤍🤍.Version: 6.6.0

The best yoga app I’ve used, and now the only one I useI only do a home based yoga practice now because I’d moved to a new town. The app is complete and comprehensive, so easy to use and understand during your practice. The music selections are great too!.Version: 4.2.5

My Fav, Never boring, sense of timelessnessI have tried many yoga apps and videos over the years in my practice, but I have never come across one that gives you a sense of the unknown every day. The beauty of this app is that in each day's practice you don't know what comes next so your mind has nothing to anticipate and can be more present. This also brings timelessness to the practice and an hour goes by without you realizing it. This is what is so lovely about this app. And of course...the great sequences, soothing and supportive voice, the boosts, ability to play music or not, tracking of your history, choice of practice style, length of practice and speed of practice, and amount of vocal instruction. I tend to like no music, and am experienced enough to have minimal instruction. I like that I can choose this more soundless approach because it supports my intention of presence & focused meditative awareness of the physical, internal, energetic, and mental mechanations playing out as I practice. Truely a well thought out App. Stellar :).Version: 2.0

Best yoga app!Hands down (pun intended) the best yoga app I’ve ever tried. There are a lot of options to choose from, the length of time allows you to do different practice that works for you from time to time! I love the clear video guidance and the soothing background music (or not!). Loooove love love.Version: 6.1.6

Best way to do yoga!!!It’s amazing to do yoga at your own pace in the comfort of your own home, your own sos infix way, so many fine tuning options to get the most out of your work out/ stretch. Love it !!!.Version: 3.9.0

Love Using This AppI haven’t tried any other yoga apps so can’t compare, but having been using this app for nearly two years now I haven’t felt any need to try elsewhere. I really like how you can have either a general workout or if you want to you can choose which area to focus on, for example after a run I do a short yoga workout concentrating on my quads. It’s handy to also be able to choose the pace of the workout and how much detail the instructor gives you so it can be adapted to whether you’re a newbie or already know all of the poses. I find it very simple to set up for each workout and really enjoy using it, it’s a big part of my fitness routine and am grateful to have it..Version: 6.1.5

Love love love this appI’ve always wanted to increase my flexibility and I’m absolutely rubbish at sitting in the same stretch for 30-60 seconds three times through blah blah and this app has worked wonders for my flexibility. 15 minutes a day four times a week and I can see improvements in every area. I love that you can choose different difficulties and specifics you want to work on. I do wish there were a few more options for specifics to work on such as upper body (shoulders and chest) and back flexibility with backbends. Maybe even a specific one for splits. That’s just aimed at my goals. Overall the app is amazing.Version: 6.1.5

Best yoga app out thereI love this app so much that my friends sometimes think I get a sales commission on it, when I talk about it. It’s like having your own personalized yoga coach, right in the comfort of your home. Everything is customizable, and the sessions change every time you use it, so it never gets repetitive. There are also *so many* different types of yoga offered, so you can also change that when you feel like you want something a little different. I mainly use the Full Practice, but when I’m not feeling very get-up-and-go-y, I switch to the Restorative one for just a bit of stretching. You can also set the amount of time you want in your session, how long you want savasana, your pace, how much instruction you want… really everything. The instruction and voices are also great. I’ve been using this for nearly 3 years almost daily, and I still love it. If you’re looking for a new app, this one is worth it..Version: 6.8.1

AvisJ aimerais avoir des nouveautés!.Version: 7.0.0

LOVE IT 🙌🏽I just love this app!! I have gone through some recent trauma & found that going to a studio & seeing people game me more anxiety. So being able to enjoy it from the comfort of my home, not deal with traffic & breathe a little longer & get what I need out of my practice is wonderful!!! Also being able to take my time in certain poses that feel really good for me & being able to simply enjoy savasana for as long as I like is the best! Love how I can basically design my practice depending on what my needs are or what my energy levels are like & even how much time I have. And the music is great too along with the tone of the instructors voice, it’s just an all round perfect combination!!! I love it & cannot recommend it enough!!! Put your excuses aside & just start...the benefits are just amazing ❤️ So much respect for the developers! Thank you Annette M.Version: 3.8.1

My favorite appBy far, this is the best yoga app there is. It’s the reason I have been so consistent with my yoga practice. Namaste💙.Version: 6.9.0

Most amazing company out there!I can not applaud this company enough! For starters the app is amazing. Without having to pay any money you can get an amazing yoga work out everyday, and each day is different. Within a month I was starting to see real progress... As well as this, they offer a service where you can let them know if you can’t afford a membership, and they will get back to you to see if they can help. I mentioned that I was a student who can’t afford to spend out money on apps like this, hoping they may be able to give me a discount to help me through lockdown. Instead they gave me 6 months free for all of there apps!! An amazing app and an amazing company, thank you so much!.Version: 5.6.0

Absolutely life changingI first started using down dog approximately 10 months ago after getting injured at work. I started off with the free trial because I wasn’t able to work and couldn’t commit to a subscription based service but after the two weeks I realised how beneficial it was to my wellbeing so I wrote to them explaining my situation and they gifted me an extra 6 months free of charge, in this time I was able to strengthen the injured area and reconnect with my body, now that I’m back to work and have gotten a little bit slack with my practice it’s always reassuring to know that if I’m ever feeling stiff or sore in a particular area this trusty app is here to help me feel whole again. I 100% recommended this app to anybody and everybody in my life experiencing and pain or discomfort in their lives..Version: 5.7.0

Easy to Use and Generous CompanyI started using this app when my gym and yoga classes were shut down due to COVID-19. Being a full time clinical grad student, I have a very limited budget, and this company was gracious enough to give teachers and students free 3 month trials. As my trial was reaching its end, I was sad to think I couldn’t afford this monthly bill on top of my other bills that are coming back due to reopening. Just got an email today saying they are extending the free period for students/teachers to JANUARY 2021! I’m thrilled!!! What a generous company that understands not everyone can afford the big price tag that often accompanies studios and Western yoga practices. They make yoga accessible, as it should be! On top of being a generous company, the app is easy to use and modify to your wants and needs! Depending on your mood they offer everything from yin to full vinyasa and everything in between! It’s so easy to modify speed, length, voice, music, focus areas (e.g., glutes, core, shoulders, etc.). I’m so appreciative of everything this app offers, and that I’ll continue to be able to afford it throughout the rest of the year!.Version: 4.8.4

First yoga app that convince meI have been doing yoga for years, even did a yoga teacher training. I like this app because it inspires me and encourages me to try new things and change things up a bit. I normally just put my headphones in and follow the instructions without having to look at the screen much. This is the first app I decided to pay for, however I did it as part of an online campaign where they offered 30% off, not sure if I would pay the full price, as I find that a bit too expensive. I really like the music in the app. The person who is doing the exercises is very skilled and sometimes looks a bit “inhuman”. A friend of mine who is a beginner says he finds her a bit intimidating especially for someone who is new to yoga..Version: 7.3.1

Exactly what I was looking forI do calisthenics and I wanted a yoga app where i could work on mobility, without having to learn or memorise all the possible poses and asanas. This was exactly the answer. Hook up a couple of bluetooth headphones, get a mat and let this app walk you through any kind of practice session you want. The only stumbling block i’ve run into is that the sessions can go too fast for me, even on beginner level 1. I’m unclear on whether that’s because i set the pace too fast (i had it on Slow but now i’ve set it to Slowest) or because i made my sessions too short (wanted 40 min sessions but now i’ve set it to 1 hour per session). Either way, i’m sure i will get faster soon enough..Version: 5.1.0

Highly recommend!I am constantly impressed by the routines put out, whether it be a quick 15 minute pre-coffee move or a 60 minute anxiety reducing relax before bed. I’ve always wanted to do more yoga but find class times don’t suit my lifestyle and practicing with strangers not so peaceful. The flexibility down dog offers is amazing - not just for time of day but also type of practice, music, pace etc! Have recommended this to many friends who also rave about it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 5.8.0

Really happy I found this App !!!Update: still love this app! 🥲not a single complaint on my end As someone who normally HATES yoga, this app has shown me that I actually do like it (a lot), I just wasn’t enjoying the classes I was taking. I’ve always felt really in my head during most yoga classes (in person or online) because of the instructor voices + the music played. I was really happy to see there were multiple options for both instructor voice and music in this app!! I currently have it on the Mars voice and Nature sounds. It is THE BEST right before bed. Honestly, this app is my new favorite thing. They are currently running an offer due to the pandemic, and I really appreciate them opening up their app for people to use for free. Now that I’m working from home I feel my back is constantly in pain and in need of a good stretch. I also feel like this app helps me stay active while indoors. I 100% plan on becoming a paying customer afterwards..Version: 6.2.1

Back pain = GoneI’d always read about yoga being a real cure for back pain but always thought it was more of a placebo thing. After doing yoga almost every day of the week - my back pain was almost nonexistent! I stopped for a couple months and it came back... Their deal for students and teachers during the pandemic really made a difference - and hasn’t gone unappreciated!.Version: 5.0.0

Amazing!By far the best exercise app I’ve ever used! I’m a beginner and the moves are challenging yet easy to follow. You can choose to target certain areas of the body or just complete a relaxing session. Has become a part of my daily routine in lockdown 🤗.Version: 5.0.0

Great app, lots of varied workoutsI started using this app due to being in lockdown and honestly it’s the best fitness app I’ve tried. I’m currently using 7 minute workout and yoga and loving both of them. I especially love being able to change the focus of the workout to different areas of my body. Getting a different workout every time has really helped me stick to it as I usually get bored of the same workout every week. The people behind this app are also amazing too. I contacted them as I was worried I wouldn’t be able to afford the subscription due to covid related job worries and they gifted me a 6 month membership. Will definitely be purchasing the yearly subscription after this..Version: 4.7.0

Best Yoga APPYou could choose so many options to generate the perfect yoga session for you. Totally recommend it … I’ve been using it for 3 years and still the best one I have come across 🙏🏻✨🧘🏻‍♀️.Version: 7.0.0

The Elusive Outstanding Yoga AppReturning to yoga after having 2 kids comes with its challenges! Mainly that I get zero time to myself. I was searching for an app that would let me do as little or as much of a workout as you need. This fully met my needs. You choose how long you want to do (I started with 15 mins - kids standard morning nap time would defo cover this), went for sun salutations only to ease in because I knew my body would remember those, chose some lovely ambient music and the voice of Sammi who is awesome. Also love that you don’t have to include the Savasana, which was great, as my big boy didn’t nap in the end so I managed to do the routine, get 15 mins kind of to myself, in a suitable, achievable way. I’m converted - this might just be how I get back to my yoga practice - I LOVED it! I also forgot how good yoga makes you feel. Now off to do some Cosmic Kids yoga for my little one. Thank you!.Version: 4.2.2

Variety & choiceI love this app and highly recommend it for the sheer variety of yoga options, pacing, personalisation, instructor voice, and user. ability to select the amount of instruction needed. The app constantly refreshes itself with new practices. Great for beginners and long-time yogi bears. Big thumbs up from me..Version: 4.9.0

Fantastic yoga app!Honestly I love this app so much! Super easy instructions and I’m very visual so it’s great to have clear videos to follow! The music is great and I love that you can change it. And change everything to suit yourself really, depending your level or how long you want. Love it! Only thing I would add is what each move does, in like a library or something you could look at? Maybe that’s on premium? But still an fantastic app.Version: 4.2.5

Best asana app EXCEPTTL;DR: Fantastic for home practice, especially if you want to tailor your flow for limited time or mobility. The ONE thing this app lacks is diversity represented in pictures, videos, voices and music. Long form: I’ve been practicing asana for almost 30 years in one form or another, and as the practice gained popularity in the US, I found fewer and fewer studios were offering hatha or restorative flows. While I love a good ashtanga session, I have a chronic condition that dictates whether or not I have a enough energy day to day for a full workout. On top of that, my career often has me traveling or working odd hours. So for many years my studio memberships would lie unused for weeks or months because of a flare up, or because of a job. With DownDog I can practice on the road, for as much time as I have, and tailor my flow for days when I’m just not feeling good. Thanks to this app I’ve been more regular with my asana practice than ever in my life! THAT SAID, its hard to ignore the lack of diverse bodies and voices represented in the app. The developers have done an amazing job of offering different styles; what would REALLY take this app to the next level is for them to tap into the Southeast Asian, Black and Latine communities for more diverse photos, videos, voices and music..Version: 6.5.1

Thank youI use Down Dog every morning for tow years now and I’m grateful for having this app. It just make my day. I highly recommend it to everyone who values her health..Version: 4.4.7

So far so good!I have been practicing yoga on and off for 10 years and just started up again with a small class once a week. I wanted to supplement my class practices at home with something I could do daily. I have used other yoga apps before but they were ‘meh’. I like this one as you have a real person narrating, you can see them in the poses and you have a music selection. You can do a full on hour long practice or a quick 10-20 minute one. You can do beginner or advanced (I am beginner/intermediate). I have done about 4 practices so far with this app. The only thing I would caution folks about is to be sure you are doing things correctly. I cannot stress enough the helpfulness of a real class with a real teacher to tell you when you are not in a pose correctly, or maybe alternate forms of the pose if you have neck, shoulder, hip, whatever issues. This statement is not for just this app but for anyone who wants to start yoga and think it is a good idea to do it via app only without instruction. You can hurt yourself. Instruction also helps you improve your yoga ability. One awesome thing that could be added is a meditation ‘set’ here. Say at the end of a short stretching yoga practice, spend say about 5-10 minutes with a guided meditation. Something to think about but in no way detracts from this app. Maybe it is here already and I have not found it yet. I know there are separate apps for this. Namaste!.Version: 2.3.5

So impressedNot only is the production value top rate, but the ability to customize your workout on all levels is outstanding. Length of time, style of yoga, difficulty/experience level. What kind of music (or no music in my case). The type of voice. How much/little instruction is needed. You can dial it in so you get exactly what you need. I just set up a home gym in my garage. On days I’m going to do more intense lifting/boxing workouts I’ll use this app to do a 20 min warm up and get my body stretched and ready. On off days from the intense workouts ol use this app to do a 60 or 90 minute yoga practice to stretch my aching muscles and keep my body moving. Just an FYI - I did take yoga for many years in the past at a good studio, so I do have a foundation and am not a total newbie- mileage may vary a bit if you’ve never done toga before, but with the model as a visual example and set to the most detailed instruction, I bet you’d be fine. This app is going to be a mainstay of my fitness practice..Version: 5.7.5

Great exercises and variety but glitchy appMy husband and I love both the HIIT and Down Dog apps, and use each every day. We purchased the subscription after trialing it during the COVID quarantine. We absolutely love the variety of exercises- how it’s never the same workout each time. We both feel like we are getting solid workouts in. But the biggest problem we have is how glitchy the apps are; we have the same issue with both. When we attempt to cast the workouts onto our TV, we get about halfway through, and then the app seems to reset itself. Casting immediately ends and the workout returns to the beginning of the session. Sometimes we are successfully able to fast-forward to about where we left off, but other times it seems to crash and force us to start a completely new sequence, which is incredibly frustrating after putting in a solid 15-20 minutes worth of workout. If not for this big issue, this would without a doubt be five stars from us..Version: 4.9.0

I'm obsessed...I have only been using this app for just over a week but already I'm hooked! I am new to yoga so wanted something that was easy to follow and understand, this app provides that and so much more. I love the option to add in an additional focus so you can personalise the workout. I also love that even if you keep the same options selected the workouts everyday are different!.Version: 2.0

So easy to get it rightI love this app! The sequences are always changing which is good for me because I get bored easily, the pose commentary is super helpful and allows you to adjust yourself for best practice and the background songs selection is top notch. Winner!.Version: 2.0

Restorative and Yin Yoga ♥️🙌🏼I have a lot of spinal issues due to harsh overuse as I’ve been a CNA and VA for the past 10 years. My coworker friend got me into hot yoga 4 years ago to help me minimize the cortisone injections I was frequently getting, Physical Therapy, and massage therapy. It was drying my bank account with medical bills and missing work. Not to mention the anxiety, depression, and frustration due to the extra stress. When Covid started at the end of 2019 I wasn’t able to go out as much as I have a weak immune system and am allergic to the main antibiotics. I got sick regularly and it would last forever even before covid. I love Down Dog it is so affordable and I get to do it at home whenever I want which has been keeping me healthier and saving money. I love the ability to see proper demonstration and the calm verbal instructions with cues for breath and with serene music. The fact that they have different voices and Restorative slower yoga with less challenge has allowed me to build up and destress my body and mind. I feel peaceful and healthy after these sessions ♥️.Version: 6.1.6

Much much much better than a yoga classI have been enjoying this app for about 2 years now. Every single session has news positions and new challenges. I have always gotten bored with traditional yoga classes - not only were they overpriced in comparison but it was always the same thing. Down Dog is absolutely fantastic. I have regained all my core strength after surgery and I am in much better shape than ever. Can’t beat the price. Honestly the best thing on this earth. Thank you Down Dog Team! I have been recommending your app to all my friends/coworkers..Version: 5.8.0

Thank you so much guys, reallyI’m a full time working student and stress can really influence me a lot. And also I started to feel pain in a back because I’m sitting all the time( So because I wanted to be healthier I started using this app. It’s great in terms of UI and simple to use, have incredible and bespoke content, translated in many languages and have an amazing music at the back. But unfortunately because I’m studying and saving my earnings now, I couldn’t really pay the full year price, hence I wrote about it in the email of their customer service and got a free trial period and a year discount! I’m so happy now! I’m planning to buy the full subscription next month and hopefully I’ll afford that, but how is it great to know that stuff of Down Dog really care! Human and understanding attitude really appreciated and the application really worth it. I won’t use any other from now on).Version: 4.4.8

Good so far - but not all bodies welcome?I am an older adult, getting back into yoga after years away. I appreciate that I can try this app for free. I am still undecided about whether to commit to it. I would really like to see more variation in the bodies doing the poses—nonwhite, older, fatter. Surprised that the beginner flow, 30 Minutes, slow, has us suddenly and immediately do challenging poses like Warrior iii with no advice about how to work toward that balancing / strength pose if you’re not quite there yet. (I have some ideas from earlier classes but it helps to be giving a quick warning / permission to move to a wall if you need support). The only pose where an alternative of using a wall was offered was for waterfall pose, which is fine, but that pose seems considerably less challenging for most bodies than many of the other poses in the beginner flow. So obviously probably no true beginner should work outside the studio from the start, but it also seems like all of this sends unwelcoming signals to anyone who is not white, young, fit, slim, and already very strong..Version: 3.9.0

Better than an in studio practice!Down Dog has been great in that it is completely customizable to suit type length and speed of practice, difficulty level, ability to focus on specific muscle groups, strength, flexibility, and even music and instructor. I find it better than going to a studio because I fit it to my schedule and personalize it to suit me..Version: 7.0.0

HelpLike many people i came to DD during the lockdown in Australia. I had always practiced Yoga with private instructor. As a 54 year old male farmer classes seemed impossible because of either the access , pace of the class or my self consciousness ,I felt like i was a distraction to others and i was not getting the most out of the class, so privates seemed to be the best way toward greater flexibility. Through your beautiful app its like a private session. The fact that i can curate my class via length of practice, time of practice , style of yoga and level is fantastic. The feature i like most is the fact that i can choose the voice of my instructor. This creates the idea of intimacy that you get when you do a ‘private’. DD is a wonderful app, thank you for your generous offering during lockdown and with your help i will be able to return to the class in fine form!! ( more likely survive a class) Christopher May.Version: 5.7.4

No longer free??Been using this app for the past week and loved it and now I can’t start without having to proceed with payment. VERY disappointed !!.Version: 3.5.0

Great app - liked previous musicI still love this app but lately some of the savasana music has felt distracting and creepy. One example sounded like a creepy woman voice yelling (sounded like a Halloween witch shrieking into a dying off voice with other high pitched voices) on alt beats (not spiritual where I might understand that working for some cultures) and another sounded like a rattlesnake (again in alt beats, not spiritual where it might work for some.) Today I was thankful that all of the selections were relaxing (and I still like the sung chants that I can drift off to savasana in.) Maybe the music categories could be broken up more for different preferences or cultural needs. Also I had to reduce talking for the new option to just announcing the pose on the new voices because she talks way too much even on limited talking with breath cue so it makes it hard to relax into the breath. I wish the classic voice could be combined with the new options even though the instructions would have less detail. The original voice was more inviting and soothing/relaxing for me personally..Version: 4.2.5

Great for busy mumI love this app, I started using it during Covid Lockdown and still using it. It allows me to practice in so many ways at different times of the day or week. As a busy mum with 2 boys and running a biz with hubby I never know what my week brings but I can always rely on this app to give me a good practice when I need it :-).Version: 4.7.2

I LOVE this app!!I’m not one to leave reviews but I have been using this app for a few years now and I absolutely love it so much. I began with the goal to be able to touch my toes but it has given me much more than that. Would recommend to anyone!.Version: 6.2.1

Love love loveHonestly so glad I discovered this suite of apps back at the start of COVID. I’m not usually one who pays for subscriptions, but I found this to be so reasonably priced, and to get access to all the apps in the suite is an invaluable bonus! What I love most about the Down Dog app is that I can tailor it to everything I need - focus areas, duration, background music and guidance provided. This is something very unique with at home workout classes, and I couldn’t recommend it more! Now all we need is a Pilates app to make the suite complete 😊.Version: 6.8.1

A great yoga app and a group of kind and humorous developers behind itThank you DownDog developers for this wonderful app. It has helped my child with cerebral palsy to massively improve her coordination and breathing, consequently her speech. I would pay just for your funny hipster messages on the loading screen! Thinking about that - I guess I'm contemplating vegan poke bowl for dinner...Version: 4.7.0

Amazing app best investment!I’ve recommended this app to my family and friends! Absolutely amazing yoga app which allows you to select so many options! From the length, to the style of yoga, length of savasana and focal point. You can tailor your yoga session to whatever your body needs! I’ve been using this app daily for the last 8 months and I have no regretted it! I’ve purchased it as I wanted the capacity to download yoga practices while being offline but the free version offers pretty much everything else! 100% recommended!.Version: 4.6.1

It’s my calmAs someone who can get anxious easily I just love that I know when I do a session at least once a day it really helps settle me. I love that I can choose 10min if I don’t have much time and it’s super easy to follow. Thank you for this amazing app 💚.Version: 2.8.0

Yoga is my new favourite thing!I’ve always wanted to try yoga but find classes often move at too quick a pace, and I often prefer to exercise/work out in the comfort of my own home. I have a cross trainer and weights at home for this reason! Since discovering this app I’m practicing yoga between 4-6 times per week and it’s very convenient to squeeze in 20 minutes per day. Each work out is similar yet has variety, no session is the same even when using the same settings times after time. The practice can be as easy or as challenging as you want, and is suitable for complete novices (myself included in this category when starting). I feel as though I’m already starting to stand a little straighter and find myself looking forward to practice each evening. I would certainly recommend the yearly one off payment of around £60 as great value for money. After all, classes or a gym would be in excess of £30 per month! Highly recommend, thank you down dog :).Version: 5.6.0

Tried and tested for 2 years - still using daily!A truly brilliant Yoga app, I ditched my gym membership 2 years ago as work commitments didn’t allow my to get to classes regularly enough to justify the monthly fee. I have been using Downdog daily and very quickly upgraded as it has proved to be the best fitness app for me. I have progressed from beginner to intermediate 1/2 and feel that my body is stronger and leaner, more so than with years of cardio at the gym! Can’t recommend this app enough, the developers work hard and listen to members user issues if there are any; there is a Downdog community on social media, which allows you to get help advice from other users around the world. My day isn’t complete unless I’ve done my yoga! Even when I’m on holiday 🙃. Thank you everyone at Downdog 🙏🏼 Namaste x.Version: 4.2.2

Thoughtfully designedThis app is a pleasure to use. The instructor is very clear, and gives separate instructions for the left and right sides, something that is very helpful for more complicated poses. I was at first put off by the use of photos rather than the video, but after some use I do not miss the video at all, and it is nice not to require the bandwidth and the storage. The app is very stable; I have not encountered any bugs aside from a small display issue in 2.0. I like the range of choices for difficulty level, as well as the duration selections. The addition of Boost, which allows you to choose a body areas to focus on, is great - I'm really happy they added this and it's clear the app is continuing to improve. I previously used FitStar Yoga, and became quite frustrated when trying to select times, not to mention all the bugs. There are a lot of music choices, more than I need, but I did find that soft instrumental worked for me. The levels of the music are somewhat variable, so sometimes the music is too soft and sometimes too loud, but it is tolerable. Finally, of course, it's great that there is a new routine every time you use the app. Highly recommended!.Version: 2.0

Great for most levelsReally awesome app, been using it since April 2020 and feel I’ve really improved Only way to improve is to please bring back the download option!!! I would love to be able to do yoga at the beach but have got limited data!.Version: 6.0.0

Yoga perfection 🙏🏻My difficulty over the years has been finding any sort of exercise that appeals to me, I can do but have room to progress and develop, and keeps me interested. I've toyed with yoga on and off over those years, as I have zero inclination to go to classes, and finding an app that fit the bill was a chore. I've tried many different ones, and the experience always started well, but there was always something that eventually made me lose interest: being too difficult; only having a set number of routines that repeated over and over; the level of instruction, difficulty, and progression. I found this app by chance a couple of months ago, and I am in love. The free version which I'm using gives plenty of variety; I might decide to upgrade one day, but I'm happy as I am right now, and I think that's ideal for beginners - being able to practice and learn without having to commit to paying. I love the flexibility of options for a session, and, as others have said, even when you chose the same parameters over and over, it still provides a varied routine. For example, I usually go for a 10 min Restorative routine in the evenings, and every time, there's at least one pose I've not done before. I'm still in the Beginner level and can really feel the changes in my body - maybe this is the app to finally help me progress further! Even if I stay a beginner for the rest of my life though, I know this app will keep me interested and practising yoga 🙏🏻.Version: 2.8.0

AmazingFantastic yoga app! I’ve done hundreds of hours of yoga with the app over the years and I’m still learning from the sessions. They take user input and are responsive when you find a glitch. They are always looking to improve the experience. Great sales on yearly passes too..Version: 6.9.0

Wonderful appI'm a beginner but find the clear visual and audio descriptions of the positions very easy to follow. The fact the sequences are always a little different is great as it keeps me interested and helps to work my whole body rather than the same areas again and again. Love this app!.Version: 2.0

Used to be able to download for offline useUsed to be able to download when not in Wifi but they seemed to have disabled this feature? Great in a world of planet wide Wi-Fi coverage not so good in the real world..Version: 5.7.5

Amazing yoga appI’ve been using the Downdog app for yoga ever since it was offered to healthcare workers during the pandemic. I’ve been a keen on exercising all my life and until recently used the gym frequently as well as doing cardio exercises. I have built up my yoga I’ve the last few years, through the use of this app, to doing a 21 minute practice daily at the end of the working day. I have found that it helps me both physically and mentally. The app offers great verity, steady progression and is brilliant value for money. I don’t need any special clothing or environment it’s completely portable and not weather dependent, so can do this on holiday or away from home too. I would highly recommend buying and using the app to anyone. I wish that I had done yoga years ago now, but the app is so convenient and difficult to find excuses not to practice yoga everyday..Version: 6.8.1

Truly Excellent App but ....This is an excellent yoga app and it both very professional and easy to use. It allows you to control everything from volume of music and teachers voice to speed of class. You even have a choice on the level of detail you deem you require on each pose and movement. Would highly recommend this app if you are are experienced to yoga. However my wife and I have not done yoga for quite a few years and we are quite stiff and quite inflexible and wanted to do yoga together every morning to become more flexible and become more balanced emotionally and connected. For beginners the beginner section it is very quick even at the slowest settings and the transition between poses is incredibly quick and you do not spend long enough on each pose to get into it and before you know it your 2-3 behind which fundamentally leaves you frustrated, which defeats the object and makes you very present where you are in your inadequacy, which isn’t great. It doesn’t allow you relax and spiritually get into the moment. If I have missed something I sincerely apologise and would be delighted to obtain feedback to steer us in the right direction, however we were both left feeling the same. I think we will become more proficient and then return to this excellent app..Version: 3.9.0

The bestBest yoga app ever ! I love it.Version: 7.0.0

No more downloads??I have used this app for a few years and love the variety and the ease of use. I was disappointed to see that there is no longer an option to download a practice to be used offline. This was a great feature and I am not sure why it has been discontinued. BRING BACK DOWNLOADS!!.Version: 5.7.2

Love this app, best yoga routinesI’ve been using the app since 2020 on and off since the the start of the pandemic. I originally found out about it from my brother in 2018, when I started my yoga journey at a local studio near my house. However, with things studios closing and prices going up to cover the effect of what happened, I decided to download this while I was at home. You can pick what you what to focus on, the pace you want to go, whether you want a full practice or a quick flow, and it generates a new workout each time. Whether I want to do a quick 15 min or a 45 full practice, it’s got everything and I never get sick of the workouts cause it’s always changing. You can practice with or without music, and change the voices of the instructor. I have literally nothing bad to say about this app, super impressed. To top it off with a cherry, I was going through some financial struggles with my car being totaled and I saw that they had an option for having a membership but not being able to afford it. I figured what’s the worst they could say and it’s always worth a shot. They gave me the app free for 6 months and a discount upon the 6 months ending for the year! Seriously, amazing people, I am so immensely grateful and will tell everyone about this app, nothing but positive love and vibes over here. PS: I have also tried their other apps like barre and hit, but by far, the original down dog is my fav!.Version: 6.1.6

Headphones doesn’t connectHello I love the app , and everything about it . I’ve subscribed to it as well, I’ve got yearly subscription. But there is 2 issues : it’s not connecting to my wireless headphones , my iPad is not loud enough and I like working with my wireless headphones on but it wount connect at all, my headphones does work I watch movies etc with it but once I connect to this app it stops any sound , it’s very annoying . Second , I downloaded couple of lessons and I could see they are downloaded , next morning going to gym it’s not downloaded it’s just gone . Ok then I downloaded again so I can watch in the gym without WiFi , but again same story . You have sort it out thats really annoying spoils it all, it happens twice now , so instead of doing yoga I had to jog . As my gym doesn’t have WiFi . Please fix ! Thank you !.Version: 3.9.0

Excellent appAs a novice to yoga, I love this app. I have started at 0 and I’m now doing yoga everyday. I feel off if I don’t do my daily 20 mins of yoga in my bedroom when I wake. I love the music. I love the instructor. I’ve started at beginner and I’m very content to stay here for a while. I herniated my disc last year and now my flexibility is better and I feel much less tighter than I used to. I highly recommend this app if you feel intimidated, don’t feel like you fit into a regular class or don’t want to pay the costs of classes. I would have given a 5 but sometimes it can be buggy and the video plays up rarely. My only suggestion would be to add a chromcast feature so I can cast the app onto my TV. Thanks for introducing me to yoga Down Dog. It’s now part of my daily life..Version: 3.8.1

Great for beginnersI have tried Yoga on and off (at home) for years. I’ve been a big fan of things like “30 days of yoga” by Adriene, but some of the sessions are over 30 minutes long, and as an overweight and unfit mid-40s mail, that’s just to much for me. I’ve been using Down Dog daily now for a while, and it just works for me because I can tailor the practice exactly as I need it - currently 15 minutes a day at the “Beginner 2” level. Every day is different, and as I get better I can start to increase the level (I already moved up from “Beginner 1”) and/or the length I practice. Worth a try. Even the free version has extensive functionality..Version: 7.1.0

Thank you Down Dog!!!Down Dog, I love you. I have been practicing yoga for years and have searched high and low for something that I can do on the move as I travel and nothing has come close to what you offer. This is ingenious and accessible and perfect for someone like me who is an intermediate practitioner and does not need to actually go into the studio anymore. The only thing I’ve noted is sometimes the algorithms aren’t consistent and sometimes I’ll boost upper body strength but get a sequence with repeated standing splits. Overall, this has been the best thing that’s happened to my practice in years and I am soooooo in love with you guys. Your generosity during this time of COVID-19 has also not gone unnoticed. ♥️ Thank you for also coming up with a prenatal app!!! I JUST got pregnant and have been modifying some of your sequences and I cannot wait to try it! Will leave a review as well once I do. Thank you again, for filling the needs of people like me. I’m sure there are tons of us. Sending lots of love, hope and peace. xxxxxxx.Version: 4.6.1

Best yoga / fitness app ever!I absolutely love this app. It’s a life changer. I used to think I wasn’t the kind of person who could commit to anything consistently but I’ve done 35 out of 36 days of yoga using this app so far. How? Because you can customise EVERYTHING! I only do 22 minutes a day as soon as I wake up. It’s just long enough to feel a benefit but not long enough that I can say I don’t have time or talk myself out of it. If I really wanted, I could do five or ten minutes. I love that you can choose the type, time, difficulty, add in a boost of certain body parts, choose the voice, music and more. It’s also really easy to follow along unlike some other online fitness apps. Highly recommend!.Version: 5.0.0

Great for beginners+This app is a great yoga app, and I am annoyed that many of the practices need to be paid for, I love the ones that don’t require payment. I am very uncomfortableness with how I look physically and with my personality. This app helped me feel better about my physical self and improved my mental state. Thank you Down Dog! Plus I was able to start knowing very fee things about yoga, get flexible, build strength, and get good at it! Im at intermediate one now and Im loving it. Its hard staying consistent though, I am just getting back into it again (I used to do yoga everyday but stopped after Christmas break because my school workload increased second semester, and just started a few days ago). Finally, I really really appreciate Down Dog eliminating membership fees on any practices that once had them (I can do ANY practice now) due to Corona, it was a very kind gesture and Im so excited to try the new practices like flexibility, hamstring stretches, and especially core strength! Thank you!!💖.Version: 4.4.8

Changing my life one practice at a time. The only yoga app that keeps me coming back. I love the way I can choose how long my practice is each day so on busy days I can do a short one. I also love the way I can choose how difficult or hard I want the practice to be. The accompanying music is spot on. I quite often keep listening after the practice is finished and download a song to my own music library. It is changing my life one practice at a time..Version: 6.1.5

Great Yoga AppSo far I love this app, a great yoga class and so nice to do from home.Version: 4.5.1

YogaSuperb app. I love that I can set a different body focus for each practice, set the ability level, choose my music style, choose my preferred voice, set the time I have available, get a different practice each time and also save the ones I’ve enjoyed to favourites. I recommend this app to all my friends and even people I barely know. It is transformative..Version: 6.1.5

SurfingI am 60yrs old and have been surfing since 10yrs old. Since doing yoga daily for the last year via this App my surfing, paddling and jumping to my feet has improved remarkably. My lower back was becoming stiff and regular stretching has maintained my flexibility at this age. Highly recommend the Down Dog app for individual daily routine which you can set at your own pace and ability. I started using this app as a Health Worker due the company’s free subscription during Covid. Great ethical values. Thank you.Version: 6.1.5

Worth the subscriptionI think that it is important to note that this app is no longer free for life, after 2 sessions it asks you to subscribe. However I had enjoyed my 2 sessions so much that I have now been paying for this app for 7 months. I find the monthly rate cheap especially when I consider the alternative is paying for an expensive gym membership that would probably go to waste. The monthly cost is less than £5 for me and when I consider that 1 class in my old gym was that price I find this reasonable. I have been using the app consistently for 6 months and initially bounced between the Full Practice and Restorative mode for a while, I found I was able to move up from Beginner to Intermediate 2 fairly quickly (this may be in part due to the fact that I spent my formative years as a dancer and despite a 5 year gap I found I had lingering flexibility). The complaints about only getting two sessions are valid however I implore those of you complaining to consider what this costs compared to a gym membership. I now combine this app and Couch to 5K to give myself a full body workout both flexibility wise and cardio. All for the cost of one coffee/ exercise class a month..Version: 4.1.0

Addition of Airplay makes this a winnerSo happy that AirPlay compatibility has been added! Now I can reliably stream the yoga classes from my iPhone to my LG TV instead of trying to follow classes on my tiny iPhone. The previous recommendation from Downdog had been to use the iPhone’s screen mirroring capability to share the class to the TV but the image quality was poor, often very jerky and the audio and video got out of sync (this wasn’t necessarily Downdog’s issue though, probably more a limitation of the mirroring capability in general or my WiFi network or TV). I had temporarily switched to using the Peloton and Apple Fitness yoga classes instead because their apps supported Airplay, but I missed Downdog and am really pleased I can now switch back to it..Version: 5.7.0

Surprisingly awesome!Other reviews have said it too, but this an amazingly well made app. It is so much more than a bunch of prerecorded videos! Each practice feels fresh, I've done a dozen so far and there's always something new and challenging in each practice. I think this app will be replacing my gym membership this year; it's amazing what a great workout you can get with nothing but a yoga mat and your own body weight! Thanks developers, and I will be subscribing as soon as your incredibly generous trial period expires- I have been converted..Version: 4.6.1
