Firefox: Private, Safe Browser for Negative User Reviews

Seriously frustrating since the last update. As an avid Firefox user for years both on the desktop and IPad something has gone wrong recently. What used to be a perfect browsing experience on the IPad has now become a sticky frustration. Trying to type something Firefox does not record the key strokes instantly and sometimes it is many seconds later it catches up. Scrolling up and down the page also sticks. None of my other apps suffer the same problem so hopefully the developers can sort out the problem. It would normally be a 5 star review but not at the moment..Version: 107.2

The recent update/s ruined itI am an avid Firefox user on both mobile and desktop and I would have given this app 5 stars but the last few updates for the iOS app have really killed the performance. The keyboard is constantly freezing up or just isn’t there when it’s supposed to be and the whole the app crashes over and over again. It also makes the phone noticeably hotter and the page scrolling often freezes up or becomes very laggy. This has been very frustrating so I really hope this gets fixed or I will ditch the Firefox app and look for another iOS browser..Version: 106.1

Missing functions available on other platformsPlease implement Clear browser data on exit and stop creating extra homepage on open..Version: 98.2

Why a new “Home” tab……EVERY TIME the app reopens? Really, Mozilla? Have the feature but provide a way to turn it off. Personally, I don’t want, nor do I need, to have that home page open up. I find it annoying. That’s why I have tabs I keep open. Please…fix this so there’s a way to disable it to provide an even better and more customizable user experience..Version: 37.0

Missing core featuresUpdated Nov 2022: 2* Thought I would try the all new, all syncing firefox that just got released. Every few years I try again. Consistently the Firefox team never fail to produce an out-of-date, out of touch experience for browsing the web, from iOS through to desktop. Firefox is a dying technology, because they lack creative minds in understand how to improve the web browsing experience to bring back lightweight, fast experience, while allowing addon’s to provide exceptional features such as bookmark management, OS integrated password management which is far more secure than Firefox can ever offer. Uninstalled once again. 2020 Review: 3* As has been the case for years now, no matter which OS environment you are using. Firefox bookmark feature is diabolical and frustrating. Appreciating it is a new feature, it will be great to see greater support for mouse + keyboard on iPadOS. Support for blocking adds (and other extensions) is a must. Other browsers have surpassed mozilla in this. Greater support for seeing photos online at better colour gamut and quality should just be standard for ALL browsers by now, it is 2020 not 1990 anymore. Other than this, Firefox is good. Their biggest brag seems to be about privacy these days, but so is Safari, but Safari have so features more modern than Firefox and that’s saying something!.Version: 106.1

Bookmark management still needs a lot of workThis is a great browser for many reasons, the iPhone app looks great too. iPad app needs some visual overhaul, especially the bookmarks menu which is a see of white space. Brave have done an elegant job with their pop-up bookmarks menu. The primary area of concern for me is bookmarks sync. We can now delete bookmarks but there is no option to re-order bookmarks. Adding bookmarks on iOS is broken too- you can’t choose the folder, it auto-adds the bookmarks to “Mobile Bookmarks” I want all bookmarks in the same “Bookmarks Toolbar” folder that I have setup on my MacBook. I don’t even want a “Mobile Bookmarks” folder, I make no distinction between device and bookmarks. I should be able to delete this folder. Finally, on first launch, when I open the bookmarks menu it should default to my chosen bookmarks folder, rather than me having to navigate to it just to find my synced bookmarks..Version: 17.2

Many sites don’t workUsing the online version of MS Office, certain functions just won’t work when they will on Safari. Another example is when ordering from AliExpress, PayPal won’t load. It just launches a new tab with “about:blank”, whereas it works fine on safari. I tried turning off tracking protection which didn’t make a difference. Also Ecosia isn’t available as a search engine, and there are no extensions..Version: 111.2

Latest update keeps crashingI invested so much use in FF on iOS, latest update has ruined it. View later is such a useful feature, but lack of bookmark all tabs feature means that now with sync causing crashes, I have lost them all. To top it off, I cannot sign up to the Mozilla support pages on iphone because I receive the message cookies aren't enabled; yet they are enabled in my setting for safari (I can't sign up in FF as it keeps crashing!!!) Please sort this out!!!! FF 8.0.1 iOS 10.3.3.Version: 8.0.1

No ad blockerToo many ads, bloated, slow... And now Firefox hates free speech? Get woke, go broke. Zero stars..Version: 32.1

Ios13 Firefox, Pocket , trending no choice to turn off.Fire fox added a trending section that cant be turned off ? i now have multiple image thumbs being loaded by pocket on my home page? (i did) the instructions to turn this off do not work. since the ios13 update Firefox has changed for the worse for me, so i've deleted it. You tube & certain other websites are not loading well. no point in continuing using it. why would anyone want to be force fed ‘trending’ & have rubbish load onto their devices without a choice? Fyi the dark & light modes don't work well if your already in dark mode in (ios) set firefox to light & the ios status bar is hidden, missed that one i see. It was a great browser & i made use of it a-lot more than safari..Version: 20.1

From 5 stars to 1 after last updateHair-pullingly slow and clunky on iOS after the recent update. Also seems to want to keep taking me back to the very first tab I have open when I switch to another app and come back to it, incredibly annoying with a lot of tabs open to have to keep scrolling back down to the bottom tab where I left off. Was at least thankful to discover I could at turn off ‘jump back in’ and recents in the homepage to get it looking closer to the way it was before. Don’t like the new look at all. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it (or break it, in this case!) Not sure how the address bar at the bottom is supposed to improve the user experience, just another extra psychological gear-shift I have to make now when going back and forth between other browsers and Firefox. I can also no longer see what I’m typing as I’m typing it on Reddit because of this daft new layout, rendering FF useless for Reddit, and who knows what other sites. I won’t be sticking around to find out, you’ve lost a user here I’m sad to say because you were my go-to browser. I hope you can improve things in the future so I can come back. For now it’s un-usable, at least on iphone....Version: 106.1

Loosing choices for businessBit over google and international business domination over what use to be functional applications like client browsers. real computing has clearly died & gone. all settings make this more google than mozilla incl auto text position goes to search than url so if google is set as default it'll be 'search entry' ready rather than url positioning prepared limited app choices like what all these 'apps' are purposefully redirecting you to bs 'business partnering' choices which are not uneeded and this pay to use anything rather than allow individual ownership is discrimnation most online apps & programming is classism and based on societies 'favouritism' and popularity and so redundant due to cooberative self marketing rather than the useabilty of the app. obvious business distracted by money than validity. am big on open gnu licences (even tho Stallman has tainted that too now like most big egos that have lost their moral underbelly like most individuals) and now, free enterprise, hacking, netiqutte and all the good things have been spoiled by greed & opinion when giving away services for bully big businesses. am sure response (if any) will be robotic & devoid of intellect as even the feedback option under settings takes you to mozilla login ... again as pointless as google as a search engine whom only think we can't spell so won't provide or return viable data instead of pushing the latest in info marketing / news as an original brainiac from the 80/90s, this is all convaluted junk programming here now with Apple, Mozilla, EA, Google and MSoft not far behind being devoid from techs original purpose to save time & "assist" in info management ... this is now all restricted proprietary ownership without due rights process ... you only get an option to accept ... that is not a choice! all so you spend ya time and $ going around in circles for the big monkeys without producing anything tangible. bit like our health system ... oh, maybe that would be a more ethical investment than air taxis or flying to debris outside the atmosphere ...! as if needs are to be denied over freedom as a choice for ADULTS for the sake of policies that protect little else than a businesses acumen ... AI is a concept and cannot be never be etjically realised simply because the moral processors do not exist and can never be realised by those who believe they can create such a thing prior to even knowing or respecting our own Rather be ... not here getting sick with all ya'll greedy wannabes, screen junkies, chemical drug supporters & ugly voices that have preceeded this review of junk tech in all its forms, caio!.Version: 100.1

Now unusableBeen a Firefox user since v3 or something. Sadly the IPad version is literally unusable. Freezes every few minutes, every time you come back to the app it has unloaded the current tab. Crashes regularly. Fails to load shortcuts for at least 30s. Slow, glitchy and crash prone and zero acknowledgement of these issues. Reporting bugs get ignored for adding worthless features. So sad to see what has become of what was the best browser :-( Lol, just had a look at he version history and I see the last 4 releases have exactly the same change list. What’s that all about? Indicative of the care given to the iOS version I guess. Depressing to see not one mention of the kind of issues described in the changelog..Version: 107.3

Upon OpeningI never write reviews for things. But this I can’t stand. I’ve been a Firefox user since 2006. Used it without issue as its always been the best and has always been reliable. Every phone, every computer I’ve had since then has had trusty old firefox on it. But recently, firefox had this update on the iPhone where every time you open it, it basically treats all the tabs you had open as brand new tabs and its practically impossible to go back and revisit sites again. I like to keep tabs for tracking packages, carts that I’ve built on websites, work systems etc. open in Firefox on my phone so I can quickly reference them and switch between my phone and my desktop whenever I like. This new update where every time you open Firefox; your previously open tabs now all just act like brand new tabs, is absolutely garbage. And as extreme as it may sound, if it isn’t reverted to the way it used to be or at least a setting allows me to turn this feature off, I’m going to end my 16 year relationship with Firefox because it’s just so ridiculously annoying to deal with now..Version: 96.0

Bring back Private/non-private interfaceI loved this app and the seamlessness of sending tabs to and from my Firefox devices. However in the latest update they’ve changed the look of private tabs, they used to be signified by a black theme with the purple mask shown at the bottom of the page, however now in the new update they look near identical to a regular tab with the only signifier of a private tab being an even smaller version of the purple mask symbol. Really hope the UI team bring the old layout back!.Version: 13.2

Losing (lost?) its wayI was happy to persevere through the many bugs and glitches, in supporting open software and privacy-focused browsing. But I can see that firefox now compromises on privacy as well - for example, in sending mobile data including our IP address to Adjust (analytics vendor), and in sharing clicking behaviour with its ‘Partners’. You should probably remove the ‘Private’ descriptor from your app title. I’ll be gradually migrating to another browser on my devices. Writing ‘we take your feedback seriously’ and then not taking it seriously isn’t really meaningful. This is sad because I’ve been using FF for around 15 years now.Version: 113.2

Can’t change cookie settingsI just need to be able to change my privacy settings on the iOS version of Firefox. That’s all. Browser is mostly fine, it browses content, as it should. However it blocks most website cookies for user privacy. And usually this is fine! A more private internet experience! But some sites NEED these cookies to work properly, and I cannot unblock them. I’ve checked the Mozilla page for advice on how to adjust my cookie settings. The first step says to go to settings and then privacy settings, or something like that. I Do Not have that. It Does Not Exist. There is no “privacy settings” button within settings. No one else seems to be having this problem when I checked the help forums. I just need to be able to change my privacy settings on the iOS version of Firefox. Please, help..Version: 32.0

AdsNo easy or obvious way to block ads with this app. Great on laptop, not great on mobile. Sticking with Firefox Focus..Version: 18.2

Buggy and Poor UX on latest updateThere wasn’t really any need to change in the first place but the latest build is very buggy regardless of the design changes. Night mode simply doesn’t work, it will continuously revert back to day mode, and to get it working again I have to turn night mode off then back on. Opening new tabs and navigating between tabs is waaaayyyy too snappy. It feels extremely jarring and isn’t smooth like it was in previous builds. Also having the tab view pop up in a ‘card’ style layout with the tab options at the top makes very little sense. Not sure who approved this design change. This latest build feels like a step towards safari which is odd. I may have to start using chrome or another browser if Firefox are going to make unnecessary changes that only cause issues, when the app was fully functional without issues before..Version: 39.0

Only for most basic useInterface is decidedly not iPad-like and not consistent. Here’s the example that brought me here. Click a PowerPoint file on a website -> Nothing happens. Nothing. Long press and choose save link. Where did it go? Check the Downloads folder in Files. Nope. Open the Firefox Downloads panel to try and see … touching the PowerPoint file now immediately brings up the share options, including Save to Files. Where is it now? Who knows, but I had to download it, then open a new menu and then save it to the Downloads folder. what?! Okay, I long-pressed and downloaded a PDF, but touching that in the Downloads floating panel (not a page) just opens in Firefox. After re-opening the Downloads panel and long pressing the PDF entry in the list … nothing happens. I finally discovered that for some reason now I have to touch and hold, then swipe left to get the option to Share or Delete (delete from where!?). Pressing Share … hangs Firefox..Version: 98.2

WowPerformance wise, it is better than Safari.... but The UI and UX is terrible! Stop messing with home pages, stupid modes that hide important functions, and generally make features “undiscoverable”. I mean, really, just stop it! Focus just on performance, please!.Version: 97.0

Not PrivateWhenever I go to to bookmarks Firefox appears to try to preload them. I base this on the fact that Firefox allows cookies from sites to be installed from sites that are in bookmarks that I haven’t actually visited. Try it! They also don’t get properly cleared so every time I even look at bookmarks I have to go to Data Management to clear them out. Based on the Latest Windows update, which is terrible, and the reviews here I am not updating in my iOS devices. It does make on wonder why developers do this stuff. I think it comes from marketing who just what something different rather than something that people want. Fix this pronto Mozilla!.Version: 34.2

Many issuesEDIT July 12: Another small update, no fix for any of the issues mentioned. EDIT July 8: Several months since its introduction and many times the issue has been reported, night mode is still unusable after a few minutes and causes the entire screen to become a garbled and unreadable mess. I appreciate the additions to the developer log that I didn’t even know existed on mobile but there might be more pressing issues. I’ve used this app for years and it seems to continue to get more buggy with each release. My first and main tab is Wikipedia, and so most of the bugs I find are experienced on that site. Whenever the app crashes (which happens very frequently, especially when switching from another app back to Firefox) it sends me to a completely random page from my browsing history on that tab, sometimes pages I visited last week. Night mode is great when it’s usable for a few minutes before causing the display to show a mess of distorted lines, partially or fully destroyed images, and various parts of the page being displayed on top of each other making it unreadable and impossible to tell where you are on the page. The night mode bug has existed for as long as I can remember night mode being a feature, while the flashback-on-crash issue seems to have only cropped up in the past two or three months..Version: 18.1

Not workingI have created an account but it won’t let me sign in. I’ve been trying for over an hour. I’m done. Deleting account.Version: 9.0

Leave it aloneOoops! You screwed it up (again). A jump back in list something or other? You know, you don’t have to improve when it’s already adequate enough. So confusing when you keep moving access to bookmarks and history around. Your greatest admirers have been doing this for years: Google, Microsoft, Apple. Be different. Make them hate you..Version: 99.1

NFC not workingTry to login google with 2FA using NFC key, it is not working. It works in safari, so this is the browser problem.Version: 30.0

Home Button is a bad UI choiceGive us back the refresh button in the bottom taskbar. I don’t know anyone that wanted the home button over the refresh button. At the very least give us the option to customize the bottom taskbar..Version: 96.0

Tab barHaving a problem with Firefox 98.1 on iPadOS 15.4 on a first generation iPad Pro. When I have Firefox open full screen, my 7 tabs are shown on the tab bar and stays there, but when I multitask with another app, the tab bar appears initially, but if say, I go to the settings page for example, the tab bar disappears and the only way to view my tabs is via the history. The box with the number of open tabs also disappears. Is this by design (which is a terrible decision) or a bug? I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling. Again, after syncing, the tab bar disappears again. I can no longer use Firefox as my normal workflow is to have two apps open with multitasking..Version: 98.1

Apple ruining products once againCompletely at odds with what Firefox is all about. No customisation options, stupid Apple ‘gestures’ forced on you without any way to turn them off. A shell of ultimately a great product. Nav bar hiding on scroll down on the iPad is a particular issue for me. Completely unneeded feature which ultimately just creates more issues without the ability to turn it off. It doesn’t come back 100% of the time when I scroll back up and I’m left tapping the screen trying to force the navbar to re-appear..Version: 98.1

Super glitchyBrowser glitches so that newly opened tabs can’t be seen in the tab switcher until I toggle to private browsing and back. Close the tab switcher? Have to toggle again before I can switch to a new tab; only older tabs are available without doing that. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled four times across multiple Firefox updates in case it was a bug that got fixed but it keeps coming back. I’m getting sick of having to redo all my shortcuts and tabs and settings just so that the browser will function normally for a month or two (or in the case of this week, an hour or two; what an absolute waste of time). I’ve posted on the support forum but no answers. I really like using Firefox and don’t want to switch but this is getting incredibly annoying. I guess at least it’s not crashing all the time like it did last year before I did a fresh install. I can’t state enough just how sick I’m getting of having to fix every issue by uninstalling and reinstalling. Edit: months later, I am still having this issue AND the app randomly quits at least once per day. And the last time it quit I lost all of my tabs. I swear, I want to love Firefox as one of the few privacy focused browsers out there, but it’s just such hot garbage..Version: 107

Keyboard problemLike the app, but current update doesn't seem to support other keyboards..Version: 2.0

Startup fixed in 38.1, now fix refreshThank you for reversing the ridiculous decision to open a new copy of the homepage every time I launch the app. Now please restore the refresh button to the bottom toolbar. The homepage is not something I need quick access to from every page I navigate to, but the refresh button absolutely is. Restore it, and you'll be back to 5 stars Previous review (1 out of 5 stars): You have now made my browsing experience MORE distracting, not less. There's a reason I don't have a homepage configured and I set the new tab page to "about:blank"... I don't want my phone making decisions for me about what I look at. Launching a new instance of the homepage is literally never valuable to me. Meanwhile, the refresh button, which you've inexplicably removed from the bottom toolbar and *replaced with the home button*, IS something I find valuable, and I wish you'd put it back. This app was working better before the update. Please revert the features or allow me to customize back to sensible settings and I will update my review to 5 stars..Version: 38.1

Just put the refresh button backThat’s all I want. The new home button is useless to me and having to scroll to the top of a page to refresh is about as annoying and time consuming as having to stretch up to the top of the screen. Just put it back where it was, please..Version: 38.0

Needs WorkI’ve enjoyed my experience with Firefox on my desktop, but with this iOS version I haven’t so much. The app needs some work. Like others who have written reviews, the bookmarks are kind of a mess. The bookmarks issue is also present on the desktop version but it is compounded on iOS. I shouldn’t have to tap through “desktop bookmarks” to get to bookmarks and they shouldn’t be buried in the hamburger menu. There should be an icon in the toolbar for easy access. Why separate bookmarks into mobile and desktop? It’s not 2008. Cellphones are extremely powerful and the experiences should be married fully, including bookmarks. It should just be “bookmarks toolbar” and that’s it. The rest of the bookmarks we save can be organized by the user. Not by putting them in “bookmarks menu” (what does that even mean) or “other bookmarks” (other than what?). Outside of bookmarks, the night mode should have a setting to automatically match the system. Night mode isn’t very good regardless though so I often have to turn it off. The dark mode never actually switches to match the system. I have to manually go in and toggle on and off to get it to work. Tabs completely reload when I go back into them when they should save my place so that’s frustrating. Please fix all of these things. In short, the app needs work..Version: 106.0

How many blank tabs can you open?I HATE that now every time you open the app it loads a stupid “homepage”. Just give me the last tab I was on like before. Sheesh. Talk about breaking something that didn’t need to be fixed..Version: 37.0

IOS keyboard shortcuts don’t work for manyMany of the non-US IOS versions of Firefox do not support keyboard shortcuts. Can it be so hard? Also, using Firefox as my default browser is fraught, as Siri search results almost always cause a “Well this is embarrassing…” Firefox failure message, when attempting to open the search result link..Version: 97.0

Lack of plugin support makes it a no-goAs an exclusively Firefox user on Windows, I love the simplicity of moving between the browser on my laptop and mobile devices. However the lack of plugin support makes security a hassle. My password manager integrates seamlessly into both Safari and Chrome on iOS, allowing me to easily log in to any website with my secure randomised passwords. Firefox requires switching apps and manually copying the details from my password manager into my browser. For now, I’m sticking with Safari on my iPad..Version: 12.0

Old tabs render half pagesGreat alternative to Safari and Chrome, but it has a really irritating and disruptive bug that I can’t seem to find any mention of on the internet. If I leave a tab for a few minutes, it will only render the top visible parts. It’s as if it just takes a screenshot of that portion and it can’t be interacted with. The worst part is that hitting reload or back doesn’t work - you have to copy the URL and paste it in a new tab. Tried reinstalling and clearing cache, but no luck..Version: 10.3

HorribleI started using today and all there is was lag keeps switching to tabs it won’t let me watch anything and it’s just a bad app.Version: 38.1

Literally unusable since it's updatedApp does not respond to any input since updated.Version: 40.0

Hanging in thereI decided to delete my account for syncing bookmarks. I hated to do it as I had it for years. Waiting now before making a new account to see if any other problems come up. Been with Firefox since right after it started. Had it on over 10 machines-Apple, Windows— Linux….so very disappointed with various changes coming recently—Updates are so frequent. Thanks for a response Ibut couldn’t read as I couldn’t find it. Gave me an opportunity to read a number of other ones. I valued a browser that didn’t “bend the knee” to censoring-spying, etc. it is not a mutual relationship as we don’t get to spy on those spying on us or know who is getting our info. I do appreciate efforts to fix the problems—thank you. I’m giving a low rating for what I’ve just gone through with the strange double name for the iPad (Donna’s iPad) (102 iOS pad) —same device. Deleting either one meant I had to sign in again…. The syncing stopped working right with other machines also. Firefox was the only browser I used to sync bookmarks. I haven’t dumped the browser. It has been my favorite for years..Version: 102

I want to love it but I can’tI use Firefox on all of my desktops and I love it, but the mobile version just doesn’t work right. First it needs to incorporate the privacy of Firefox Focus into the main app, and give users the ability to control the level of privacy they need, without having to use a completely different app with all or nothing being your choice. Second they need to work on the interface. Too many steps required to get to bookmarks or to switch tabs. And every time I switch tabs it automatically highlights the last one I opened, not the one I’m on or the next one in the sequence. Finally, it needs to be coded in iOS native tools. It’s obvious that interface elements aren’t native and it just doesn’t fit. For example: tapping a bookmark icon highlights the target area for the tap and you can see that the icon and tap area don’t align. It’s a little thing but it makes the software feel unfinished and buggy, even when it works. Since it can’t match the functionality of Safari or chrome I’m forced to use an alternative, and I really would rather have Firefox on all of my devices. I’ll keep checking back and hoping for the day they get it right..Version: 97.0

Disruptive UXI’ve been a die hard Firefox user most of my life and this app might be the reason I have to finally seek out an alternative. For some odd reason anytime one switches back to FF from another app, or opens the app up after a period of inactivity, it suddenly opens a new tab and selects in the browser url/search field. Never mind that I may have been deep in an article and I am just switching back and forth between it while I handle some background task, like a stream of incoming messages from someone, every time I switch back to FF it behaves as though whatever I was (am) doing is stale and assumes I am trying to do something else now. It wouldn’t be so bad except that it’s two taps every time to get back to the previous tab I was on with the page I am currently trying to read. I don’t know any other browser that behaves this way and it disappoints me to no end that someone with such bad UX insights would have this kind of influence over an app and brand that I have trusted to much. I hope they fix it soon but its been this way for at least half a year now..Version: 104.2

This needs a lot of workThe Firefox app is very tedious and annoying to work around but I have stuck with it due to their appreciation for privacy. Feedback- - This app gets bugs often and it is like a maze to report bugs and feedback, currently the Firefox app continuously keeps crashing randomly. Sometimes even a handful times a day. We should have a option to report the bug after Firefox realizes the app has crashed unexpectedly and let us add notes and comments to it. Also passwords don’t save all the time!! Even when adding manually it wouldn’t save; this feature should be looked over, unsaved passwords isn’t fun. Also Firefox should look into if we can auto fill passwords on this app instead of having to go to passwords menu and copy and pasting: since Firefox is my default browser, the phone suggesting safari passwords is no use. - When Firefox is launched, it should open to the MOST RECENT tab not all the way to the first tab, as well as when tabs are being closed, it should not automatically prompt us to the first tab opened; it’s really annoying. Firefox should add preferences in settings for this on mobile. A great idea would be to let us put tabs in folders to help users stay organized. - Firefox mobile should add some more themes, preferences. Firefox on desktop is great but Firefox iOS needs a lot of work and tweaking, lacks a lot of features as well..Version: 39.0

It’s ok but not awesome. It works and I love the desktop version. But the mobile version needs some boost in features. Any apps for an iPhone should have swipe left and swipe right features and not only for backwards/forward. This should be customisable. Swipe left and right to cycle through the tabs or show menu. Also why is swipe down not refreshing the webpage?! This is basic functionality. Also when I open a new tab I don’t see my bookmarks under address bar and I have to click on the 3 lines, select bookmarks and then access bookmarks. This is highly inefficient. Bookmarks should show up right after you open a new tab. Renaming bookmarks is also not supported..Version: 14.0

FrustratingUpdate After an update to this app its still not operating right. Now hitting the “reload” icon opens a new tab.....why???? Complete stuff up. Websites still load incorrectly Yes it works as a browser and can link to your desktop browser as well that makes it easy to transfer bookmarks etc. BUT - it just loads websites poorly or inaccurate - Some sites load a mobile site even through i request a desktop version. - Some sites start to zoom and subsequent reloads just make everything bigger. - Google loads an old version of the website? - Some sites will have text overlapping and normally it takes 3 attempts at reloading the page to fix this These problems DO NOT appear or happen in Safari or Chrome apps I have tried to inform modzilla and even sent feedback but i get the distinct impression that this browser is always going to full of bugs. Better off downloading another!.Version: 29.0

Getting worse over the last monthThe worst bugs started around 6 weeks ago: the shortcut icons on the homepage change randomly and are not related to a website. I have to read the name of the website as the icons are now useless. At the same time, the second not less annoying bug appeared: if I want to remore a domain from the homepage, let’s say I read a newspaper,I have to remove the icon 10 times and more because behind an icon on the homepage is no longer the domain as a whole but each page that I visited of that domain name. I used to use Mozilla for the last 20 years, but whatever the developers believe they have to change it goes always into the opposite direction of what used to be easy and user friendly..Version: 114.3

V31 crashesV31 crashes instantly on opening in iOS 14.4..Version: 31.0

Great but far from perfectWould have given 4 stars but this new version made me dock a star as they replaced the page refresh button with a new tab button at the bottom centre of the UI. Now it takes two steps to refresh a page as I now have to go into a menu to do that. Should make the new tab button (which was the page refresh button) a user preference in the settings..Version: 29.0

Loyally frustratedHave been using Mozilla since mid 2000s even when they were out classed by chrome, so I don’t say this lightly. The last few updates have been utter trash. Every search will be slow, and the browser will crash over and over again. Every time I think an update will fix it, it doesn’t it keeps crashing. Very frustrated and don’t want to switch to a browser that’s less private but it’s near unusable at this point..Version: 106.0

Newest update buggy, or just bad?The newest update doesn’t function properly. Opening private tabs is now a frustrating process that requires too many steps. And when you minimize the browser with a private tab open, it reverts to a ‘non-private’ state when maximized again. ( and then you have go through th whole process all over again !) And even when you do browse in a private tabs, identical ‘shadow’ tabs open simultaneously in non-private tabs. Strange. I’ve used Firefox for 20+ years, and have always loved it. But this update is a massive step backwards, and is atrocious..Version: 99.3

Love the browser, BUTGreat browser. Clearly the fastest imo. No missing features or “bummers” except for one thing. I’m on an iPad Pro 2020 release 11in (brand new) and have the latest system software and the latest app software but when I go to google image and click on one to ‘save image’ it crashes, doesn’t save the image and returns to my Home Screen. The app has full access to my photos and I don’t have the same issue at all on safari on the same iPad. Nor do I have an issue on Firefox on my Samsung S9 phone. It saves picture from Firefox no problems. Sounds like you have an issue with my iPads software.Version: 28.2

I mean....Firefox is a good browser depending on how you use it. In the newer updates it gets really frustrating to look up images. Instead of showing you the images like most browsers would, it shows you but when you click it, it takes you directly to the website instead of letting you look at the images. You would have to click the front to see it. To me this is frustrating, as an artist, I need to look up references to draw things, this leaves me with a huge disadvantage because I’m unable to directly see the image. Firefox also seems to switch from update to update at times, well for me at least. Say there was a new update for your device, or a new update for the app, Firefox would instantly go back to its old ways, which makes me hesitant to update my iPad because I want to have the freedom of looking at an image. I would appreciate if this problem was fixed in someway.... but I wouldn’t really suggest this browser if your soul purpose for it is to look at images..Version: 22.0

I wish they would stop making it worseCan no longer have bookmarks on the Home Screen and the placement of the bookmarks in the menu is at the very top and not changeable meaning it’s much more annoying to access. There are also issues with the menu not working when you hit it sometimes or taking several seconds to load. The app is adding new customisations like backgrounds on the Home Screen but keep removing options that help usability. Please just stop removing things and make them options. Please..Version: 99.1

Needs a proper adblockerI understand that on iOS every browser is just a reskinned Safari, but Firefox needs a proper adblocker for it to become a usable alternative. Not being able to use apps like AdGuard or 1Blocker to block ads and filter web pages kills it for me. Please implement an in-browser ad block solution. Tracking protection is a good to have for now but a robust adblocking system will seal the deal for me..Version: 17.0

Firefox App Feedback & SuggestionAll of the forms of media and visual demonstrations that are all ever shown posted on up here should all always make sure to explain as specifically as possible about the reasons for why it is always as important as ever nowadays, today in general that all of these forms of media and visual demonstrations all always make sure to explain the very best that they all ever could about all always making sure that this type of app for Mozilla Firefox always makes sure to have all of the types of features and extensions needed for it to function the very best that it all ever could as well as for allowing to never, ever set any sorts of limits to any of its own types of users in general in the sense of everything that it all could actually always allow all of its own types of users to do with it and all. Lastly, all of the forms of media and visual demonstrations mentioned way earlier in the beginning should all always be translated into as many different types of worldwide foreign languages as possible and everything..Version: 102.1

New ui is horribleLiterally switched browsers because of the niceness of old Firefox but now I’ll switch again.Version: 34.0

Shame on Apple and MozillaThis is not Firefox in any way, shape, or form, bar name and organisation. In fact, it is antithetical to the very idea of Firefox and extensions, and, quite appropriately for Apple, gives the guise of choice and privacy, when this is not at all the case. The curated thought-friendly “extensions” are an abysmal fraction of the available ecosystem made by developers, and provides no access to any tools that prevent third party snooping, blocking, or anything that stops Apple from extracting its value from you. Additionally, the studies and telemetry options that exist in the significantly trimmed down settings menu, have flipped themselves back to transmitting data without ny input. Programming error, I’m sure- just like all those other privacy invasions that benefit the people who made the “error”. As a hollow shell of itself as an app, within a trash walled garden ecosystem, the developers should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this kind of sacrifice to the principles of the browser and open internet, and to the organisation itself, for bending the knee once again, and entrenching this kind of anti-people technology..Version: 97.0

It's a browser!!It's a browser. It lets you view webpages. However, on install it also switches in several spyware features such as running studies on your browsing, and also sending all of your usage data... you can switch this off in settings, but for a browser that claims to put the user first, this shows Mozilla bullsh1t the same about privacy as everybody else. There is NO such thing as anonymised data in the browser world... you are a fool if you believe otherwise. Mozilla shouldn't have spyware switched on by default..Version: 108.1

No auto cache clear on exitLost a lot of respect for Firefox. They claim to care about our privacy and all that but do not include a way to delete the cache upon exit like the desktop versions. Only the manual option. Unacceptable. And no add-on to do it either. Not private enough for my taste. Too many other options out there that are. Sad. UPDATE: Response to developer response— understand ad-ons aren’t allowed in iOS for Firefox, but the delete cache upon exit feature is not provided by an add-on in the other Firefox versions but is a setting toggle within Firefox. If FF doesn’t have someone monitor and read these feedback here as part of their improvements from users then I doubt they’ll listen to my adding it to some other feedback web site as you suggested. And if you’d looked, this same complaint has been on those other sites for years already with no action. My guess: they either don’t care or (more likely) there’s a bit of $$ involved with the tracking of iOS users. But thanks for the response..Version: 108.1

Most mediocre browser for iPhoneI don’t understand why Firefox for iOS is so behind on virtually everything. I mean, no innovation on anything. Brave, for instance, offers a playlist that allows you to play music outside the browser; it also has a native script and ad blocker that prevent you from relying on third parties. Firefox, on the other hand, offers nothing but a rather mediocre strict tracking setting that makes no difference when browsing, as you can still see every single ad suffer all arbitrary redirections. I mean, do the developers ever ask themselves why anyone would use their mediocre browser on an iPhone? And don’t tell me that it is Apple’s fault. That’s a lie, considering that Brave managed to do all the things I previously mentioned on iPhone and without relying on extensions. If Mozilla’s goal is to lose their users, well, they’ve done a great job at that. Not only did they destroy Pocket, but they also delivered the most irrelevant browser for iPhone. I want to support you guys, but Firefox for iOS is an extremely lazy and mediocre product..Version: 124.0

DisappointedKeeps crashing and after each crash, it needs to be reinstalled. Otherwise it won't open. Very difficult to navigate between tabs. Worst ever..Version: 1.0.1

App started crashing :(I love everything about Firefox, but just in the last two weeks my mobile browser has started crashing quite often. I don’t want to chrome!.Version: 106.1

Firefox 36 unusableJust updated my iPad to Firefox 36 - it crashes immediately after launching 😡.Version: 36.0

Latest version issuesSince the latest version and on ios16 the first tab randomly doesn't open and tabs randomly don't remember their state / cookies so the page loads as if I'm not logged in. I have to refresh the page/tab for Firefox to reread state and cookies and the page in question then loads and remembers where I was at. Have tried a full reinstall which helped for a bit but now the problem is back. Almost like the browser is treating the tabs as private sometimes..Version: 105

Hate the look feel and performanceAnother new version that works worse than the last. Why keep meddling and going backwards?.Version: 99.1

Not impressed!I’ve been using Firefox for just over a year and was quite happy with the browser until 3 months ago when suddenly all my tabs disappeared, erased completely with no way of getting any of it back; this has happened not once or twice but 5 times! What’s finally made me delete this browser app for good was when I was using it went from one app to another back to the browser and my current session was signed out, all my info and data was wiped yet again with no way of getting it back!.Version: 117.0

Version 37 UI changes are a disasterOpening the home page on top of any existing open tabs is a terrible design idea - instead of just hitting a single icon to open a new tab when we want, we now have to go through the rigmarole of opening the tab view and closing the utterly pointless new tab just to get back to what we were previously looking at. Similarly, putting the refresh button at the top of the page to make room for the home button at the bottom is dismal. It’s too close to the “reader view” button in the address bar which makes it hard to use. It was much better at the bottom where it could easily be hit without changing your grip on the phone. Seriously, what’s the sudden obsession with making the home page so easy to get to?.Version: 37.0

The Overall user experience in mobile is terribleI decided to give it a chance and downloaded and sync Firefox in all my devices, I found out the desktop version seamlessly and surprising with the Pocket add-on as a great feature which I thought it would helped me follow my content in my iPad and mobile. So finally, I installed the app in my mobile with my surprise of having a really bad experience and poor functionality that isn't working. I can't understand why the user experience AKA as UX is so poor compare to the rest of the platforms, thinking about that primordial use of internet in modern browser is done in mobiles. Have you heard the term mobile first ? Was coined long time ago ... Anyways, the user interaction and UX is terrible, main menu and controls are not friendly and lack of user empathy, and if that wasn't enough the sync feature for which I decided to install Firefox at first doesn't work. I bothered to look out for responses in the Help section, reinstalling the app without any help...reading in their blog it seems like other people are complaining about this same problem, so very disappointed at the end. If that would be the case I'd more than happy to collaborate with your UX and design team to improve your product, it has good potential but still need to put more effort in function than aesthetics...Something that Chrome or Safari in know very well...Version: 36.0

This app is ridiculous!Every time you switch between the current webpage you're on to another app, whenever you click back on firefox it automatically opens a new tab. THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!! I can't find any way to turn this off, and it is so ridiculous! I am CONSTANTLY swapping between a webpage and other apps to reference or copy information, and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. a new tab is opened! It's so redundant (not to mention infuriating!!!), do the developers of this app honestly think we aren't capable of opening a new tab, when there is a button provided so we can do exactly that?! WHY WOULD ANYONE CREATE SUCH A STUPID SYSTEM?!?!?! Surely it is common sense that people don't want to constantly be closing new tabs every time they want to reference something! Surely it's also common sense that every time someone opens the app, they don't necessarily want a new tab! WHY WOULD YOU FORCE THIS STUPIDITY ON YOUR CONSUMERS?!?!?! If this doesn't get fixed soon, I'm deleting this app and never coming back! I've honestly not seen such **BAD** design from a big company in a LONG time!!! Aside from this one gripe, the app's not bad. But if you're like me and swap between apps a lot, then this problem makes it at best a 1 star app!.Version: 113.2

Okay, can be betterShould add things like private browsing, desktop view.Version: 1.0.1

No longer advocating for a free and open web.Mozilla came out and said we need more than “deplatforming” therefore directly coming out against the free and open web and advocating for censorship. Free and Open exchange of ideas is the only way to solve real problems. Will not ever use a mozilla product again..Version: 40.2

Horribly slow since the Dormant Tabs featureFrom five stars to two. Not good. Ever since, I think, the introduction of the “dormant tabs” feature, FF has been horribly slow for me, lagging, freezing, crashing and just plain going away. Freezes seem definitely to occur after a system popup/notification (e.g. low battery warnings); the only fix is to close and reopen the app, when I don’t always get back the page I was working with. At other times, the menu refuses to appear or is extremely laggy - over 30 seconds on the two occasions I’ve had the patience to check. This may be down to the fact that I have many - over 80 - “dormant” tabs, though it wasn’t a problem when they weren’t dormant. Whatever it is, it needs fixed, or I’m afraid I’m going to have to switch browsers. 😐.Version: 106.0

Borderline unusable latelyThis browser was great a few years ago, but recently it does nothing but crash. If I use the home button at all to leave the app and return, it hangs until a crash. I pull notifications down from the top? Crash. iPhone battery notification pops up? Crash. I plug my phone in to charge? Crash. Not to mention that it’s just generally been slow. Other than that, the only change that bothers me is that the app rotates your screen 180 if your phone is held upside down. I remember a few years ago if you did that it would just stay landscape, making reading landscape pages while lying down much better. I’m can’t even think of a use case for upside down portrait..Version: 106.0

A buggy mess for physical keyboard usersFirefox has always been my go to. Unfortunately, this is not the case on iPads. When using a trackpad to swipe down(specifically the Logitech Folio Touch), for example, the browser would fail to display the address bar. This gets annoying quite quickly as I have to use my finger every time I need to see the address and tab bars. Furthermore, there is also a bug that prevents the use of both touch and physical keyboards. For some reasons, the keyboard would disappear, preventing me from typing anything. The aforementioned bugs are enough to for me to stay away from the browser till further improvements..Version: 34.2

1Password extensionThe main reason why I use Firefox for iOS is the 1Password extension. Is it possible to re-enable it. It has not been available since the update to version 9..Version: 9.3

I am letting you go…Since the last update I have experienced nothing but freezes on the 2017 iPad Pro. It has become impossible to have a single session without the pages only half displaying and so it’s time to find a more suitable browser. If only you were more concerned about the user experience in your search for more money, but I suppose THAT is one pandemic we will have to live with for a lot longer than COVID….Version: 101.1

Reader view would be niceYou have it on regular Firefox, why can’t you add it here?.Version: 31.0

Gets the basics right with ample room for improvementI have only been using this browser on my iPad for a short while although I can safely say that it gets most of what I need absolutely on point. It’s fast, slick and easy to use and perhaps most importantly of all it handles PDFs properly (unlike Chrome) which is essential to my workflow. A couple of suggestions for improvement: Font rendering is not particularly nice. Generally looks quite fuzzy and unpleasant, UI elements in particular. The ability to re-arrange tabs. When I have a lot of tabs open I like to be able to re-arrange them to bring related tabs closer to one another. It is a major inconvenience having to open the tab overview in order to switch between two tabs that have ended up very far apart..Version: 10.6

Used to be fast. now comes with annoying popusOverall good privacy focused browser. app responsiveness has ground to a halt over the past few months. e.g it takes 10 seconds to close a browser tab! Swipe actions cannot be disabled. I soend most of the time accidentally swiping down to reload, and left and right to inadvertently go fwd and backwards!? Wasted my time and mobile data. The addition of pops from Mozilla asking me to rate how much I am (not) enjoying lead me to swap to my backups iphone that I had not updated FF on. I will not update FF on it. I stopped using FF and now use Safari and Chrome. Goodbye Firefox and browser that is now worse than Safari. P.S Nobody cared about Wallpapers..Version: 98.0

Firefox for PC is great, this falls short…I downloaded Firefox for iOS so that I could sync bookmarks with my PC. That is about all this app is good for. The app lacks the ability to duplicate tabs like it’s big brother can. Duplicating tabs allows you to branch off of search threads and retain a node in the chain w/o needing to open a blank page, copy and paste the url to continue the chain. With Safari, you can save almost any webpage to PDF or reader PDF which allows you to create documents in your file folder of things you want for later. With Firefox, you can only save some things as PDF if they are uploaded to the original site as a PDF. You cannot create new PDFs. I basically have to copy my url and paste in Safari to get the job done. I am real close to using an outside bookmark 3rd party to manage my dossier, and dump Firefox all together. It’s cons make it almost worthless to me. Very sad to say that the iOS Safari is actually better….Version: 39.0

It’s okay but...Using forms is not an easy task, so when you are on a shopping website or filling out a web form, it’s very annoying!! Hard to describe but, for example when you tap on a multiple choice drop down menu, when you select it, you have to tap on the down arrow on the keyboard to go to the next option in the form, if you don’t then the selection you made will not be accepted! And also another thing that bugged me was that when you click on a link that will open in a new tab, it will bring up the keyboard and URL/search bar, have to exit just to see the link you just clicked on! All these annoyances I have lived with for a year now, but Firefox doesn’t seem to want to fix them, so I have uninstalled and I’m back to using Safari! 🙁.Version: 14.0

Overall too annoyingPages load quicker than safari but it has problems, some pages only half load, sometimes pages freeze, just seems overall not as stable as safari. Also when you start typing an address into the bar the predictive auto fill is too slow. I often hit a few letters and hit enter, expecting it to finish the address and go a la safari, but if I don’t pause a second and wait, it just does a google search for the half typed address.Version: 10.4

CrashingApp on my ipad keeps on crashing with in 3sec of me using the app.Version: 5.3

Crashes since upgrading to iOS 15I enjoy using FF for its clean UI and out of the box privacy, but it crashes a lot since upgrading to iOS 15. Also, the last update introduced showing the 'home’ page instead of the last tab when opening the app. This is an unnecessarily opinionated feature that I have no interest in and actually makes my life harder. If this behaviour isn’t made optional in the next update, I’ll have to make a different browser my default..Version: 37.0

SlowVery slow browser..Version: 11.0

Could be much better. Some limitation of Firefox are due to limitation of iOS. However one that frustrates me at the moment is Firefox suggest that can’t be turned off what so ever. This is different from search suggest, which can be turned off. Even according to their own forum you should be able to disable this but option is not available in the app. Apart from that, it works as it should. Support for ad blockers isn’t there, but that’s more of the fault of apple rather than Mozilla.Version: 118.2

Latest update has rendered it unusable on my old phoneI don’t like to buy a brand new phone every couple years due to the cost, both to me and the environment. Firefox is my go-to browser and has been for years, but since the latest update I’ve grudgingly gone back to the default browser (safari). It takes sometimes a full minute to load a page, and even when loaded clicking on links or buttons or text fields on mobile sites can cause it to stutter again, or crash altogether. If I go to Home Screen for even a moment to check my calendar or respond to a text, the page will spontaneously reload when I return (to clarify, without closing the app, simply viewing anything other than the app for even a second while keeping it open triggers this). As a test, I spent 10 minutes trying to log into a social media account on Firefox before giving up and did it on Safari in seconds. Maybe it’s an issue of resources, but Safari seems able to allow my old decrepit phone do web browsing just fine so clearly it’s *possible*, and just not a priority for Firefox developers. Which may be fair, but is unfortunate for me and anyone else who values privacy but can’t afford the latest hardware. I’ll regrettably have to start looking for another browser that attempts to protect consumer privacy, because Firefox constantly reminding me what it was like to browse websites in the 90s isn’t the kind of nostalgia I enjoy..Version: 105

Bit of a mixed bagThe good: - Built in tracking protection - Customisable search engine (Safari only has a fixed list) - Better tab management than Safari - Syncing with Firefox on desktop, eg. bookmarks The bad: - Quirky UI that can be confusing at times - Trending on Pocket is annoying (but can be disabled) - Home Screen has no way to show a fixed list of favourites/bookmarks. Only “top sites” which you can’t manually set, or blank page. - iPadOS version seems especially buggy; frequently opens either duplicate or blank tabs when clicking links. Incredibly frustrating. Also lacks some keyboard shortcuts when a keyboard is connected (eg, CMD-L to bring focus to the omnibar) Overall it’s good and a perfectly usable alternative to Safari, but definitely feels like its full potential has yet to be realised (there’s plenty more that can be improved even within Apple’s restrictions on browsers).Version: 30.0

Horrible. Doesn’t save passwordsI upgraded to this version and it lost all of my saved passwords. I dutifully entered them again and said yes to saving the passwords but on multiple sites Firefox forgets the passwords and I have to manually enter them. Every. Freaking. Time. FAIL FIREFOX.Version: 11.0

Not able to delete Firefox appCan not download this app into my iPhone 6s Plus and can not delete it as well. Need help.Version: 5.3

Bookmarks need a serious overhaul.Firstly, thanks for the extremely detailed and lengthy ‘What’s New’. It’s great to know exactly what has been updated - so many apps don’t bother to tell us!😡. I haven’t tried the new sync feature as I don’t have a Firefox login but I’m sure plenty of users will appreciate it. It’s great Firefox offers privacy features and the option to delete browser data. Other 3rd party browsers don’t offer this. It’s annoying they’re buried under too many menus though. The main problem with Firefox is the lack of bookmarks organisation. Bookmarks simply appear in a list in the order you bookmarked them. There’s no option to use folders, reorder or edit the website name. Until this has been improved, this will remain a very frustrating omission and the main reason Firefox can’t be used as a main browser. One thing from Safari I find essential is the forward feature (square with arrow icon). From there I can send web pages to friends/family via messages or email, print, save as pdf, add to reading list plus a few others. Firefox has nothing like this..Version: 17.2

Unexpected consequences of account syncBeware! Firefox promotes syncing your logins and passwords on all your devices but doesn’t tell you that it leaves behind all that data on any device you sign in even if you uninstall Firefox. I’ve had a massive data breach due to this..Version: 28.0

Night ModeJust an observation - if the page one is viewing is already dark (e.g. Google, Facebook, or other websites using a dark look), night mode inverts it and makes the page bright white. The opposite of what night mode is trying to achieve. This means one has to continuously toggle between night mode on and off depending on the aesthetic of the web page they are viewing. Night mode is a great innovation for a mobile browser and I think it’s really great, but would be even better if this problem is solved - such as the Dark Reader plugin for the computer browser, which senses the original aesthetic and maintains the dark theme if it is there in the first place..Version: 108.1

Not what I was expecting, but finally! A startAfter a bit of a play around and signing up for the Firefox sync, which didn't sync the bookmarks or passwords from my laptop by the way. Switching "tabs" is a little bit of a pain or at least takes some getting used to from iOS chrome and safari. A quicker way of switching tabs (2 finger swipe?) or just having the tabs up top like the others would be a plus. Asking for the add ons like the desktop browsers is probably asking too much of the iOS version but it would be nice. TBH just another mediocre browser overall.Version: 1.0.1

Used to be greatFirefox was my default browser of choice, but for the past month or so it has become very annoying. To point that I've set my default back to Safari. The reason is that it just won't load any images at all. No matter how many times I reset it, rest cookies or private data. Please fix! Update: Just had the thought of deleting it and reinstall and seems to have done the trick, but I really don't think it no we should have to doing a technique from the 90’s to fixed problems in this day and age!.Version: 35.0

Everything is wrongCrashes every couple minutes. Back/forward buttons are at the bottom, tabs when you open the up are damn near impossible to close. Also uses yahoo as a default search engine, which is just stupid..Version: 8.3

Only for newer phones I guess?Mozilla, you shills!!! (I joke. This is probably unintentional even if it is frustrating). I have an iPhone 6S+ that’s been working spectacularly after all these years. I never felt the need to upgrade (another reviewer has just about my same reasons: it’s expensive, flashy, and wasteful to upgrade frequently). After several billion years, I updated my phone to the newest OS available due to that important security patch. Firefox worked better BEFORE the update. It takes an EXTREMELY long time to load anything now, and if it does, there’s a 45% chance the app outright crashes after a couple seconds. And then I have to load the page again. When I launch the app, it can hang and ignore input. When I type, often it will start to take input and even allow me to press “go”, and then the app “refreshes” and wipes my tab (and its loading progress) clean. I love having all of my bookmarks in one place, but now I’m stuck with Safari I guess. Fix this when you can, guys!!.Version: 105.1

Does not support meaningful ad blockingThe lack of support for meaningful ad blocking is the only thing still preventing me from using this. Tracking protection is not the same thing although some of the functionality overlaps. Safari ad blocking is still much better..Version: 31.0

PotentialGreat sync integration with the desktop browser though I wish there were options to make synced tabs a little more touch accessible, such as a homepage setting. The only issue I have with sync is that the Reading list seems to have no desktop counterpart so pages I add there don’t seem to sync, if they do I can’t find them. My main issue is bookmarks. They seem to place themselves in mobile bookmarks by default with no option to select where. It means I have to save the bookmark then navigate to it to place it where I want. Selecting where I want bookmarks to be saved to be the default unless there’s an option to select otherwise. This includes when bookmarking from the Apple share sheet. Fixing this would make it 4 ⭐️ For a 5⭐️ rating it would be great to have more integrated for privacy features such as auto-deleting cookies and Apple shortcut extensions..Version: 30.0

Not good with FacebookThe iPad version of Firefox really doesn't work well with Facebook. Whether that's the odd JavaScript that Facebook uses or not I don't know but it locks up, drags the screen away from you when you're typing, gives blank content when you scroll, won't refresh, and gets into a proper mess when you try to play videos. The list goes on and it's pretty much unusable - but only on Facebook and only on the iPad. I've seen Safari on the iPad do strange things too so perhaps it's the JavaScript engine provided by Apple. Having said that, it's a great browser in general if you don't want to use Facebook on it. Having all my passwords synced across all my devices is a real bonus because it makes the use of securely-generated ones viable, and Pocket is extremely useful..Version: 32.0

Touch ID and passcode do not work.Just as the title suggests..Version: 21.0

DisappointmentFirefox is easily the best browser on PC. However on IOS it is very poor. The Night mode feature is just unbearable to use. It basically just inverts every colour, so images are impossible to look at. The entire layout just feels worse to use than Safari, for iPhone at least. Hopefully it improves cause I’ll gladly use Firefox & not let every government and company know all my personal data..Version: 20.0

Mozilla against free speechToo bad that Mozilla once a bastion of internet neutrality is siding up with the people that are against free speech. Very poor decision..Version: 30.0

Recent battery drain problemsI use Firefox across several devices and enjoy using it however FF on iPhone seems to have performance issues. After browsing for a while my phone heats up and the battery drains quickly. Closing Firefox fixes the issue. It’s particularly noticeable when the website I’m browsing has a lot of gifs. This has been a problem for the last 5 or 6 weeks. Hopefully this can be resolved because it’s otherwise a great web browser..Version: 119.0

Becoming more and more frustrating to use.I really loved Firefox but ever since I updated to iOS 15 and the last couple app updates, I've become really frustrated by this app. First off: pull down to refresh. I hate this feature. It was why I stopped using chrome on my phone. I don't need to accidentally refresh the page every time I scroll to the top of the page when I'm trying to read it, or when I'm trying to double check my form entries before I submit a form. I wish there was an option to turn this off. Forced "Firefox home": the middle button in the bottom toolbar used to be the refresh button. Now it is a home button. A home button to what? I never use the Firefox home. It's just useless. Difficult multi-tasking: if I jump over to another app and come back to Firefox, it seems like Firefox forgets what I was doing and immediately opens a new tab showing "Firefox home" which autofocuses on the search bar and makes the keyboard appear. This is so annoying. This means I have to un-focus out of search then click on the tabs button in the bottom toolbar and then find the tab I was just looking at. But sometimes that tab disappears because it got taken over by Firefox Home and there is no way to go back. It's a really awful experience now, but I will try to stick with it because I want the underdog to win. But it's not looking good..Version: 38.0

Bookmark management between devices is uglyI’ve started using Firefox across all my devices (iPhone, gaming PC, and iMacs at home and work) as I like the control it gives you, especially now Apple are treating extensions in Safari as separate apps in order to monetise them (Oh, Apple!). I also like the ‘containers’ feature of Firefox on desktop - it’s a shame Apple don’t allow it on iOS (Oh, Apple 2: Electric Boogaloo!) It seems to work fine on iOS, but I have a single complaint and it’s something that really irks me... With regards to syncing between devices, Firefox treats mobile and desktop bookmarks separately, putting them in different folders and not allowing you control of your desktop bookmarks on mobile, meaning you can’t organise, edit or delete them - and also making you have to drill down two folders to access them! To me, that seems at odds against the entire point of syncing. Coming from the seamlessness of Safari between devices, it’s very ugly and highly annoying..Version: 15.0

Good but needs polishingI’ve always sweared by Firefox and preferred it to other conventional browsers however I believe there has been numerous times recently (and I don’t know if this is just due to un-optimised updates or not but both on my phone and pc) I’ve had crashes and lag spikes, this didn’t used to occur and will hopefully be fixed up eventually but at the same time this could just be my experience, regardless, still my favourite independent web browser period and I definitely recommend you give it a shot..Version: 107.2

Yay for the update!Yesss thank you for the update! I’ve always wanted to be able to reorder my tabs. Haven’t tried on my iPad yet but I used to be unable to open in new tab with long press, so hopefully that bug is fixed!.Version: 11.0

Keeps Crashing after Sept. 7/2017 updateKeeps crashing every few minutes. Considering my internet sucks and every time it crashes I have to wait for the page to reload, wait several times while scrolling down to where I left off for the page to continue loading is very annoying. I just get to where I left off and it crashes again! It's getting to the point where I'll just switch to Safari which I hate till a fix comes..Version: 8.3

Move ads on browserIf you want your browser be better move ads and pop up on your browser Put ad block.Version: 30.0

Great on desktop, Half baked and frustrating to use on iPadI use Firefox extensively on Ubuntu and Windows desktop where it is great, but the experience on iPadOS has persistently been frustrating. PayPal doesn’t work and causes an error / blank page (Safari works OK). Sync is inconsistent among other things only affecting Firefox on this platform. It’s almost like Mozilla has given up and thrown iPadOS and iOS mobile into the too hard basket. Feels neglected..Version: 100.1

Was good, gone badBeen using Firefox app browser for over a year on the iPad and 2 days ago I updated it due to some websites saying they are no longer supporting the older version of the browser. Since updating to this newer version my pages aren’t loading correctly on some websites, randomly reloading for no apparent reason, some times every 5 seconds of so. Buttons have stopped working, or begin loading to the next page and then don’t fulfil the request. I hope this gets sorted soon as I like using firefox! Also, not a fan of the new browser homepage... i liked the minimalism of the previous one..Version: 113.2

Very buggy, after many releases still no fixes. As much as I love the team at Mozilla, their testing team just isn’t doing good. In terms of mobile devices they do not address issues even after many releases. Many times the entire app will be unresponsive to any gestures, making you force quit the application and restarting it. Sometimes you also have to close the tab even after a restart. Second, is their copy and paste... you must hold longer than apples normal settings to even copy a link. Normally you could click once on the address bar to select the entire thing but Mozilla thinks we want to edit the middle of our link when we click on it. Another is pop up light boxes are very buggy and become unresponsive. As you’re adding new features please also keep in mind to fix your bugs. I am no longer using this browser after 3 months of skeptical transition to a new browser but it seems I’ll be heading back to chrome for now. Sorry Team @ Mozilla..Version: 10.5

Great browser but ruined by bugginessThere are a lot of very annoying bugs that really kill the experience when using Firefox and frustrate me when I use it. To name a few: - Opening the tab tray scrolls all the way to the top tab — if you have 80 tabs open and you’re trying to switch between two at the bottom, it’s super frustrating to have to scroll down to the bottom every time you switch - The app never resumes to your last used tab, always the first tab - opening something in a new tab can place the new tab in bizarre places — it’s sometimes the next tab or the very end tab, but randomly it’ll open in the middle of all my tabs. This combined with the first bug makes it extremely difficult to find not only my new tab but the one I just left….Version: 116.2

New Layout is BadFirefox has been my browser of choice for a little over a year now, and part of that came from the fact that the actual layout and simplicity of the app was incredibly comfortable. Not only was it quick, everything was easy to find, and it felt really good to use when compared to other browsers. For some god forsaken reason, they decided to redesign the website with the latest update for a more ‘modern’ feel, and now the app is a sluggish, slow mess that is arranged in a confusing and uncomfortable way. Finding where stuff is now is a bit of mess at first and a lot of the menu pop up boxes are now sort of located towards the middle and left of the screen. As someone who is right handed and primarily uses my phone with the right hand, this is asinine. Please, for the love of all that is holy, either restore the original interface and layout from before this update or at least add it as an option and make the new ‘modern’ design something one can opt into if they desire. This isn’t just a step down, this is devolution..Version: 34.0

Images won’t load & other problemsGenerally speaking I adore Firefox and use it on Web and Mobile, but ever since the penultimate update (or some such change on Firefox’s end), I’ve been unable to load images at all. Whether it’s the Google images tab, a search on DuckDuckGo, literally any kind of website, or video thumbnails, I can’t see it. Certain interfaces don’t load as well; tiktok links (don’t have the app) lead to a black screen (though “play” still works) and I’ve noticed that on some websites it just doesn’t work entirely. I don’t understand why FF changed like this, and I can’t really file a broken site report on everything. It significantly impacts my web activity while reading articles, logging in, or looking at reference photos. I have to use Safari instead… and requesting the web version of the site both doesn’t fix it and makes it hard on my eyes. I’m writing this review after updating to the latest version, please fix it ASAP.Version: 39.0

Pretty good butWhat we need is much much desired script blocking. Granular. Some scripts are real evil others get the content obviously we need to be able to choose which to block which to allow. Then windowing to look up references, prices, sources etc to cut paste and so on. Lastly we need to be able to load domain and host blocking as there are way too many devious companies and individuals wanting our screen realestate and our attention and money. Otherwise it is one of the best browsers and really deserves to sing..Version: 28.1

Get Rid of Top SitesForcing me to use Top Sites is an absolute deal breaker. I don’t want to have to continuously delete those..Version: 32.1

Opens 2 tabs each timeI hate, hate, hate the latest update that causes the app to open a fresh tab each time you open it. Just let me go back in and be on the last page I visited or to my blank homepage! I never want a second tab opened up. What a waste! Messy and dumb..Version: 37.0

Needs to focus on mobile UXI love Firefox on desktop. I want to love it on mobile. But the UX is so desktop-centric as to render it frustrating to use. People’s thumbs are the primary navigation tool and typically rest somewhere on the bottom half of the screen. Everything should thus be oriented from the bottom up, with most used commands at the bottom and least used at the top. The recent decision to move the toolbar to the top by default is just the latest in a string of frustrating design decisions that ignore the realities of a mobile device. Here are some others: * the hamburger menu needs to have all its options reversed. New tab should be at the bottom, close to where I would have just tapped to open the menu, so I don’t have to stretch my thumb all the way back up for probably my most common action. Settings should be at the top, as it’s rarely used. * the tab close button should be on the bottom, again saving your finger from stretching as high.Version: 113.0

What’s happening to the fox :(Perfectly serviceable browser, I appreciate the privacy and it works well. Slower as late but that’s probably just because of the recent household switch to the NBN. My problems stem primarily from design changes. Why does dark mode have such a glaring keyboard? And more importantly, why is the fox becoming less fox-shaped?! Nobody cares that it looks more streamlined and smooth, in fact that is worse. If this continues, what will become of our fox friend? It may seem a childish complaint, but I worry for the fox. Return their leg to them..Version: 20.2

Disappointed with the changes made and the with what's still hasn't been fixedI was having a great time with Firefox, until version 37 came along. Once it came along, all it did was ruin my great time with Firefox. For starters, as someone who likes to use Firefox to read articles and whatnot, it is really frustrating that, whenever the app reloads or I close out of the app, it brings to me a new empty tab, effectively making me lose where I was in the article. In the changelog for v37, it states that "Firefox will start on your Home Page every time you reopen the browser after a couple of hours to avoid being distracted by the tabs of your last session." That, in fact, is the complete opposite of what I want, and its "positive" intentions of opening the Home Page to avoid me being distracted is, ironically, a nuisance. I want to continue off with the tabs of my previous session. If I wanted to start a new session, I could just create a new tab myself. Please, please fix this issue in the next update (version 38, to my knowledge, has NOT FIXED THIS). Maybe have it so that opening a new tab after a few hours of not being on Firefox/app reloading is something users can toggle on and off. As long as I don't have to be faced with a new tab upon opening the app when all I want to do is continue off reading from where I left off, then I will be happy with Firefox again..Version: 38.0

Lots of lag, stutter, and generally bad user experienceI don’t know what happened, but the last few months of updates have really laid low this once great browser. The browser lags and hangs often - opening a new tab, opening bookmarks, scrolling in a website - any action, will often hang and freeze for several seconds before resuming. Doing anything with the keyboard seems to be the worst trigger for this. Having used Firefox as my main browser across many devices since 2008, I’m at my wits end and about to switch over to Safari for my ios devices. This is happening in the new Ipad Pro 11 and an Iphone 12, so old hardware isn’t the issue. Deleting and renown loading have done thing either. From googling around and reading reddit, this seems to be a fairly common issue. It’s a shame because Firefox is still my favorite browser and what i use on my laptop and desktop. But until the performance issues get addressed, I just can’t use it anymore..Version: 107.3

Not reliable for my use anymore.Firefox has become more unstable in the past several months. I used to be able to keep over 30 or more tabs open without having to worry about Firefox crashing or losing pages, but now it will randomly decide not to load a page on a random tab for no clear reason. I do NOT like the new inactive tabs setting where tabs not visited for 2 weeks get “hidden” there. The first time it happened, I honestly thought I lost my tabs. I have this setting disabled now, but my point is, there was no warning about this new feature, and now Firefox just feels unreliable to me. I’m now saving bookmarks in another app because I just don’t trust Firefox to save them because I don’t want to use their Sync account feature. All I needed was a browser that could handle a lot of tabs with some privacy focus, but Firefox has proven to me that it can’t really handle more that 20 tabs. I guess they want me to use Chrome or Safari instead at this point..Version: 111.0

Buggy (find in page with pdfs doesn’t work) search is laggyFirefox in general feels more clunky than safari. Overall it’s a fine trade off for syncing with desktop Firefox. However a MAJOR setback to the app is that you can’t find in page with PDFs. It just straight up doesn’t work. This leads me to having to open PDF links in safari and find in page there so I can find what I need to find. This alone is seriously making me reconsider using this app going forward. Another issue which is not as important is that searching something from the address bar feels really bad. Text input is laggy on the top text viewer. This can be remedied by looking at the bottom text viewer. Why are there even two text viewers? Looking at the bottom text viewer is unwieldy as well since the auto fill is right under the top text viewer. So you need to look up to see the auto fill then look back down to see what you’re typing since the rest lags behind. Overall this makes the app a pain to use. Please fix this Firefox..Version: 102.1

Would normally be 5 stars but..I have been using Mozilla on PC for years and now a few on IOS too, but with the last couple of updates a problem has arisen where when Googling something the browser jumps to the bottom of the page and you have to scroll back up. Reasonably minor but enough to get under your skin after significant number of updates and it’s not being addressed, and finding a clear way to submit feedback on app is proving fruitless. Apart from this unaddressed issue and obfuscation of clear way to feedback it (should) be 5 stars. Please fix now..Version: 102

New updates are awfulBetween moving the refresh button and replacing it with the home button, and then forcing the home page every time the app opens I’m done with this app. Destroyed a great UI to push a feature no one wants or asked for. Even the new tabs don’t open as well, now they go to the end of your tabs list instead of beside the tab they linked from. It’s like you went out of your way to reduce quality of life features on this update..Version: 96.0

Crashing on ios15App crashes almost every session since updating to iOS 15..Version: 37.0

Stop messing with the UIJust stop. You switched the places if the refresh and home button so now I keep going home when I'm trying to refresh. Put it back or give us the option to customize it..Version: 37.0

Would be my default, if font size could be adjustedIt seems that users of Firefox for iOS have been repeatedly asking if it is possible to increase the font size for iOS devices for YEARS. I’ve explored their Customer Support Q&A along with Mozilla’s official support site. They have never responded to a single inquiry or request—not even to admit that the font size cannot be changed, and they apparently have no intention of addressing it-at all. They obviously don’t care about visually impaired users, or anyone who would like to be able to read their extraordinarily tiny font size (compare it to any other mobile browser). Zooming in is a hassle and makes for an unpleasant reading experience. I would make Firefox my default browser if Mozilla would acknowledge the issue and make some attempt to improve it. It can’t be that difficult since every other browser has this option. Five stars and default browser if this was addressed but two stars and one more user abandoning the browser for another one that is readable, and where repeated requests for support are acknowledged So disappointing..Version: 109

Needs an ad blockerNeeds an adblocker or support third-parter blockers like AdGuard..Version: 32.1

Hangs a lot nowUsed to work more smoothly, now it hangs and crashes often on my iPad. I also don’t like how it works now when I go to a previously opened tab..Version: 107.2

V37 is a usability nightmareV37 has made Firefox unusable for me. Starting a new tab with the Home Screen after inactivity instead of returning me to my last tab (generally news) is really annoying. This should have been added as an option. The new location for the reload button is annoying but on par with other browsers. The problem is it’s hard to press and if you miss you get the address bar. When you close the address bar the reload button has disappeared. The only way to get it back is to switch tabs. Unfortunately I have to stop using Firefox until these issues are resolved..Version: 37.0

2 steps backwards!!!No ad blocker....cannot turn safe search off!! Unless you sign in, that means you have to create an account. No thanks, too much hassle, too many negatives. Think I'll stick to that other rubbish browser called Google..Version: 4.0

Poor interface optionsO ability to set fonts so useless for anyone with below average vision. Disappointing.Version: 106.1

Unfortunately crippled by iOSI use Firefox across all my platforms, and therefore it’s useful to be able to synchronise bookmarks etc. through their account sync. So I installed it on my iPad, assuming I could use it as normal. For the most part, this is true. However for some sites (mostly secure ones, such as online banking), the Firefox app is constantly identified as either ‘out of date’ or ‘unsupported’. I understand that this is because, owing to Apple’s restrictions, the Firefox app does not actually identify itself as Firefox to websites, thereby meaning it cannot be used on certain sites. It’s stupid and controlling of Apple not to allow genuine browser competition. Remember when windows was forced not to install internet explorer as the default browser without offering valid alternatives? Surely this is a similar form of anti competition....Version: 12.2

Mozilla Firefox Review"No Ad Blocker, No Thanks" Mozilla Firefox is what Chrome should be. Fast and responsive where as Chrome is slow and buggy. If this were a 2 browser race Firefox would win but there are plenty of browsers out there and Firefox leaving out ad blocking is a big mistake. Mozilla must add an ad blocker to make it worth choosing over alternatives that are just as fast such as Dolphin Browser and Mercury Browser..Version: 1.0
