Firefox: Private, Safe Browser for Positive User Reviews

Version 40 is BrokenHangs a immediately, or within a couple seconds after launch..Version: 40.0

Opening attachmentsThis app is great at everything except opening attachments. Several times I have needed to use Safari (yuck) instead to grab a pdf or docx. It’s all well and good that firefox opens it in the browser, but I often need to permanently download that file and I cannot..Version: 27.0

IraqGood browser but lacks any loading feature should be I can download video and software outsourcing.Version: 1.1

FirefoxNot sure where some of these reviews are coming from with unsubstantiated claims of Mozilla not respecting privacy of users. If that was and is the case then people should provide at least names of articles rather than bash this app. Firefox is by far the fasted app I’ve used. The UI is something I had to get used to but loved once I gave it some time. I personally don’t like integrating my Firefox with my phone so I can’t speak to those offerings. Lots of great features to the app and the night mode for pages is a huge plus for me because I hate viewing white screens. Wish I could add extensions but I know that’s an iOS issue. For future updates I’d love to see the ability to customize the home page to hide the bookmarks bar as well as the frequently visited pages and land me on the Mozilla page similar to the desktop and then this app would be perfect!.Version: 25.0

Love the app but...That new logo is hideous. Change it back..Version: 20.0

Still lacking the nice touchesI use Firefox almost exclusively on my PC, and would like to use Firefox for IOS similarly. There’s one key feature missing that is really annoying, which is how new tabs are created. Using a Firefox for IOS, if you select a hyperlink in order to open in a new tab, Firefox obliges, but doesn’t open the newly created tab. Worse, if the link you’ve chosen is more than a page scroll down, you have to scroll back to the top and then select the new tab. That’s quite frustrating. Please add a feature to open a newly created tab automatically..Version: 33.1

Favourite browser on every platformWorks & integrates very well, occasional crashes but no more than safari & easily recovered. Love sending tabs between instances & the included password manager. Would be nice if extensions were compatible but not the end of the world. Continue your excellent work iOS team Firefox!.Version: 106.1

Always the best👍.Version: 97.0

Great app, lame new logoThe best personal phone internet browser because of the unique and accessible way Firefox places my most used sites right under the search bar, so I can get there with a single click—and be signed in already! For sites that I don’t use as often, or for random searches, I usually use chrome due to its better speed. However, nothing can beat Firefox’s single-click common websites—sometimes I can load my gmail even faster on Firefox than on the gmail app! At the same time—actually the reason I wrote this—I really hate the new logo. It’s cheesy and unappealing; the shape of the center circle and the unrecognizable fox make the app look a lot like a cheap chrome copycat, which it isn’t. For the specific applications I mentioned above, Firefox is clearly superior to chrome and I wish Firefox wouldn’t downgrade what was once an appealing logo to copy them..Version: 20.0

Decent browser. Good privacy. Mediocre UXI use Firefox on my desktop every day and love it, best browser that combines power with privacy. On mobile it is not quite as appealing. It does just fine at being a browser, and the built-in privacy features are nice, but the UX falls a bit short. For example, when closing tabs, if you close the currently highlighted tab in the list it after re-opening the app for the first time, it scrolls all the way to the top of the list of tabs, and you have to scroll all the way back to the bottom to see your recent tabs. Also, the action button is in the top right, small and hard to get to, but contains actions that I use frequently (e.g. find text on page). The east to hit button in the bottom right I don’t use very often, even though it has a prime spot on the screen. Hopefully this can be addressed, I’m still using it because I like having the same browser for desktop and mobile, but it can be annoying sometimes..Version: 35.0

Tiny tabs on iPadI just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox for iOS. I’m more than happy with the iPhone version: it’s snappy, stylish, and works seamlessly with the desktop version. The iPad version is similar in terms of performance and is certainly almost a 5 star browser; but sadly it has some issues stopping it from getting there. The main issue at the moment for me is that when you open several tabs, they become tiny in size making really difficult to switch between them, plus you can no longer read the titles on them. Would be fantastic if the devs can fix that..Version: 34.0

Nice to be able to use this again!I used to use Firefox all the time on desktop but now find it painful to use. By contrast the iPad version is surprisingly good, I've tried Opera Coast, Dolphin, Chrome and a couple of others I forget the name of, but I'm sticking with this now. I still use Safari because of its integral workflow, but when I initialise my own browsing session this is what I have been using for about six months now and I'm sticking with it. The only gripe is that I would like to be able to rearrange my bookmarks in some sort of order other than the order I saved them in. A basic filing system for bookmarks wouldn't go amiss either. Small gripes though for an otherwise very handy browser..Version: 10.4

Getting there. The items at the top of my wish list would be: improve cold start speed, seems a little sluggish compared with Safari; make accessing tabs from other machines easier/more obvious; reconsider the behaviour of the address bar when tapped (should it really stay fixed in the edit mode until the arrow is tapped? turn off the QR thing as an option, I suspect many people will never use it?). Otherwise, the long-press interactions throughout are well thought out and are a pleasure to use; page render is snappy. Viable Safari alternative on iOS!.Version: 11.0

Decent browserI was happily using it until the latest update when they introduced a feature that automatically opens a new tab upon opening that goes to the home page. This is not a good feature so far it happens every time I exit to go to another app real quick. It is especially frustrating if I’m reading something because I have to go through all my tabs Togo back to what I was reading or the site I was browsing. Also I sometimes also have a problem where when I go from one tab to another it closes itself out but I might just have to many tabs open. Also sometimes when I close out a tab it will send me to another tab that’s far away from the next closest tab from the one I closed. Also it would be nice if like chrome we could have more than one window open. Other than those problems it’s been a decent browser..Version: 37.0

Awesome browser and search engine!Firefox is an absolutely amazing alternative to google and safari, in fact I would argue it’s better. I have nothing to complain about this app and it is really easy to access and use. Not to mention, Firefox is much more visually appealing than google and other search engines. Keep it up Mozilla!!!😅.Version: 34.2

IncredibleI have recently made the switch to firefox and would like to say that it is absolutely beautiful, with almost every browser nowadays using chromium and reducing the ability to adblock, it is incredible to have a browser fully compatible on mobile and desktop to be so reliable, i have alsolutely no issues and it has a very good and secure password manager as well.Version: 109

By BarnzeeI’ve been Firefox for years and I’ve never had one issue with it in 20+ years on different versions of windows & since it became offered to users of phones. It’s the safest browser I’ve ever used. I honestly can’t thank the developers who created Firefox & all their staff members for keeping me safe from hackers and attack pop up sites. Thank you so much..Version: 40.1

If you want your privacy, use Firefox!Take a look around you stop selling yourself to the capitalist. Mess their system up, they’re not out there to do you any favors..Version: 108.1

Great Browser, but…I think Firefox is a great browser, however I have one small issue; Whenever I want to delete my history, I have to delete my cookies and cache too, sometimes I don’t want to clear my cookies and get logged out of websites. Perhaps add a checklist of the things J want removed, similar to chrome? Otherwise, I love the app. (I know you can do this in Settings > Data Management however sometimes it’s a pain and it doesn’t remember what was last selected.).Version: 104.2

The best best browser since day one… !!!I absolutely love Firefox! Always have. Flexibility, backwards-compatibility, security. It only exists to be a great browser. No other agendas. So many great add ons. Simple to mess with and communications from Mozilla are always friendly and they never speak down to you. Love you folks !! Long may you prosper!.Version: 121.1

The Best Browser AvailableMaybe it’s because I’ve always the FireFox on the PC since it’s beginning, yes I’m that old, but the sink between devices and PC Is superb. The One feature I keep asking for but is always ignored, can we have a Bookmark Toolbar desktop style toolbar especially on an iPad, and have it deactivated for those who don’t want it, if that’s done I will give FireFox 10 stars. Brilliant Browser keep up the good work. Update February 2023 recent update on the bookmarks takes longer, you first have to chose bookmarks that takes you to Desktop Bookmarks then you click on that this then takes you to Bookmarks toolbar, one you click that you finally get to your bookmarks. A simple bookmark toolbar like on the PC instantly show all bookmarks as soon as you open Firefox why is this so hard, please read this and implement this. Thank you.Version: 121.0

GoodIt’s a good app. Please add “search” for history at the history tab. Also, the reading view doesn’t work on some websites..Version: 99.0

So far, So goodI have one request; can you add the option of hold-selecting a link and give the option of adding that link to read-later or to an offline reading list? Otherwise I have to open it, and then options and then add to reading list - which kind of takes away the utility of having the reading list add option button. Love the in built night mode and the display options; was the deal-maker for me, besides the above..Version: 13.2

A good start. Needs work. Its better than Safari but the bookmarking system needs more functionality. I’d like to see a way to import/export bookmarks to an HTML file at least. I have zero interest in using Firefox sync (and never will)..Version: 29.2

Great…but one request!Firefox is and always has been my favorite browser. For the mobile version, I am BEGGING Mozilla to add a Bookmarks shortcut to the homepage. Or even better, a Bookmarks shortcut button to the left of address bar similar to Brave. I, along with most others, use Bookmarks frequently and as of now, they’re simply buried too deep within the menu tree to be easily accessed. Please please please Mozilla do this and make us all happy!!!! *Update*. It’s been a while since I left the review above. Unfortunately, the difficult-to-use Bookmarks are still an issue. I thought of an idea Mozilla. How about enable the ability to show Bookmarks on the start screen? Why have shortcuts when Bookmarks sync across platforms? Makes no sense to me. Bookmarks still need to be easier to access. Please do this so we can all be happy!! ***Its some time later and the bookmarks functionality is still a mess. Any updates on making these easier to access? Perhaps, include Bookmarks as a option on the homepage, in addition to Shortcuts, Jump back in, etc. This would be SOOO helpful guys!.Version: 111.2

Bookmarks management needs improvementWe should be able to manage bookmarks from the app. I can’t even choose to add the bookmark to the list I have on my desktop app. The distinction between the two makes it really cumbersome. Why do we have a ‘Bookmarks Toolbar’, a ‘Bookmarks Menu’ and ‘Unsorted Bookmarks’? Just one container/folder that is the same in the mobile app and the desktop app would be great..Version: 15.0

Please, Make It a Matter of PreferenceIn Version 37 for iOS, the new feature that every time the browser is closed and reopened, you will be directed to a new tab — I can find no way to turn off this feature!! Firefox has been my favored browser across all my devices for years due to its simplicity and freedom. On my Apple devices, I utilize Firefox Focus for anything I need to one-time search, and Mozilla Firefox proper to check for digital updates across a dozen of different websites and resources (and I keep several dozen favorite resources constantly open in the background tabs). In the past two days since I updated, I have repeatedly closed the new tab that is forcefully created every time I open the app. This, in and of itself, is an inconvenience at best. What has become more than inconvenience, is that by closing the tab that you are currently using [mind you, the tab that is forcefully generated], this scrolls my ‘open tabs’ screen to the top of my list of 50+ tabs. While I should invest some time to learn the Pocket feature (and intend to eventually), I do not wish to accidentally close any of my tabs while attempting to scroll back to the bottom. Because people use this amazing application for so many various purposes, such as my own with hoarding academic materials, please consider including a toggle in the settings menu for this feature. I could not find any more discreet way of making this request than here..Version: 37.0

Exactly what I needLove using Mozilla on my desktop and now able to sync to my phone is very useful. Only thing I don’t like is (there could be a setting for this I haven’t found) everytime I open up the app it opens a new tab. I end up clearing 15 tabs a day because I could close it, open another app then want to go back to it and it opens a new tab again. Only feedback I gave.Version: 104

Plz add downloaderHi and tnk you for coming to ios, One of the shortcomings, the lack of a downloader for users. Please ,please, plz, plz, ADD DOWNLODER FOR BROWSER , else you not deferent white anothers.....Version: 1.0

Much better than safariAlthough it’s a shame Apple doesn’t allow web browser apps to use their own rendering engine. Apple destroyed the HTML select box drop down by turning it into that horrible scroll click thing which takes more taps to select items and harder to use. Apple really doesn’t want web browsers to shine because that would compete with their precious native apps..Version: 20.1

WHY MOZILLA WHY?I have been using Firefox as my sole browser since 2008. They have had a fantastic and secure browser for a long time and it has been a great relationship. Apple products on the other hand are complete garbage in the usability department. I bought a Mac mini in 2014 because my hard drive went out on my 5 year old gateway laptop, within 18 months the Mac mini was unusably slow. And now for my Ipad I got this little dandy last year and I have never owned another piece of technology so infuriating in my life, the one respite was the fact that I had Firefox on it, the one program I knew would never let me down. I was asked to do a major update a couple months ago, and I figured what’s the harm Firefox has never steered me wrong. When the update was complete, lo and behold I have lost all my loveable Firefox usability. They have updated me to what is little more than a safari skin. I am permanently unable to access any of my Firefox account information. I can’t change my password because all of my information will be lost and with it still working on my other devises (pc and galaxy) I cannot afford to risk losing that information. This one star review is not for Mozilla as a company but their decision to bow to apple and its BS..Version: 22.0

The best by far!!I’ve been using Firefox for more than 10 years now & find it so very user-friendly & reliable. I’m now over 75 & can still keep up with my grandchildren & their technology!! They can’t believe Nonna doesn’t need them to guide her around everything she does on line. I use emails, 3 social media platforms, online games etc. With Firefox it’s all very easy!! Thanks Mozilla Firefox for helping me stay up-to-date with my many & varied interests.Version: 108.1

Allow split reading (side-by-side webpages)Overall, it performs as a solid browser. I do wish that side-by-side website reading would be allowed, as in Safari. The browser tends to reload tabs in the background -- unlike Safari -- which can be annoying when reading long pdfs (especially without side-by-side reading supported), or when switching apps. I think it would be especially useful to have separate workspaces for personal, work, etc. like in the desktop version. This would be great in general and for shared devices..Version: 20.1

Seems good so farI’ve only just installed it, but so far so good. Only thing is the icon is ugly - get rid of that black background as it looks so garish!.Version: 10.6

Bookmarks Aren’t SortableI really like Firefox for desktop, but the single biggest problem I have on mobile is that I cannot manage bookmarks on mobile. All I can do is add bookmark, and it goes into the mobile bookmarks feature. It’s extremely inconvenient to have to sort a thousand bookmarks a month after the fact on desktop, and so I usually don’t and just let the bookmarks accumulate on my mobile devices. Please please please fix this. It would help so much to save a bookmark to a chosen folder and to be able to make folders and such like that on mobile. Version 108 is significantly more performant on mobile than recent previous versions, this may be related to the homepage bugfix. This is very much appreciated, I have been experiencing poor performance recently..Version: 108.1

BetterIt's easy to give this app a good review because it is good. If you want an iOS browser that really syncs with your desktop this is it. So easy to find and read open tabs, history and bookmarks. I really have given the other top three alternatives a fair go and this is the best. This browser really does save your passwords and keeps them in an easy to access list for editing or removal. If you already use Firefox for OSX you will love it's simple integration with the iOS version. Much improved from previous versions I'm glad I gave it another try..Version: 100.1

After latest iOS version, slow and crashesNeeds significant updates to run well on new iOS. Happy to wait for them, but might need to use another browser in the meantime Also: move the webpage information button away from the refresh button in the web address bar - how tiny and precise do you think fingers are? It’s 50:50 which one I end up pressing, and it’s always being used for refresh..Version: 106.0

Still only 4 stars until.I want to know why Firefox on the iOS does not allow the same add ons I have on my PC browser. Things like add blockers that prevent the trash google throws at you all the time, and anyone else, are needed. My blockers work with Safari, and I can decide who can and cannot dump rubbish on me while using a site. Privacy is only as good as what you can control, and who you can prevent trying to screw you. I know there are thousands who say “I have nothing to hide”, but they miss the point. All those they allow to spy on them, gives the likes of google, Microsoft etc., etc., more power to take away your freedom. Your right is to privacy, not the other way round..Version: 28.0

It finally comesWhat I am looking for.Version: 1.0.1

Almost greatLove the dark mode to save our eyes in the dark, but can you please change the splash screen and default background? Still get blasted with brightness when we open the app....Version: 14.0

Half trash, half averageActually, the app wouldn’t be so bad for me if i didn’t have to tap the search bar twice to begin my search. i open my FF browser, i tap the search bar, and as soon as my keyboard comes up before i can even type the first letter to begin, my keyboard goes away and i have to retap the search bar again. Every single time. i only use FF because i don’t want to close the videos in my safari browser. i don’t like to have too many tabs open with so much data open as well. so i keep my browsers clean. i use FF for quick searches and sometimes i even have 9 windows open at a time before i actually realize and clean it up. so it’s good for the most part. but that keyboard issue is very frustrating. i’ve been using this app for years and this is a new issue that began at least a year ago for me. please fix this. Thank You, Shantell Leos.Version: 109

Almost perfect formulaLong one. I love Firefox on my desktop, it’s functional and doesn’t force me into an ecosystem like Microsoft edge, google chrome or safari. I have also tried duck duck go but I found it a little too barebones. Firefox’s entire system just works, because the account is not linked to any of my other accounts and it exists solely for the purpose of browsing , and I think FireFox offers a good balance of privacy and functionality, as you can see by their features. There are two reasons I gave it four stars - one, being that I think with a few tweaks the iOS app could become much more intuitive - I would recommend taking simple hints from safari, for example when the toolbar is at the bottom swiping up enters tab view and swiping along goes to the next tab - it would simply add to the user experience. The second reason is I think there could be more parallels with the desktop version- although the synchronisation is excellent and the accounts are hassle free, simply being able to add extensions and Themes on the desktop elevates it to the next model. That being said, I really appreciate Mozilla’s transparent and privacy focused approach, giving control to the consumer, and I think using Firefox with the DDG search engine is probably one of the best for privacy . Please continue the amazing work Mozilla !.Version: 115.0

:)(:It's good.Version: 19.0

FirefoxFirefox is cool. The end.Version: 101.1

It’s Good!Hey, it’s really good. You should download it. It’s a really fast browser n stuff. But could you please bring back the private browser ? Because when I downloaded it again I couldn’t go into private. Thanks. 💓.Version: 11.0

Great! The best web browser on PC now available on iOS.Version: 1.0

Mostly fantasticI support Firefox because it is independent and privacy focussed. The app does freeze every so often but otherwise great..Version: 39.0

Good but a few annoyancesI’ve recently noticed what I think might be a bug, and can be replicated. If you already have a website open, then close the app, open it up again, on a blank page, it automatically replicates the already open website. Two fixes I would like to see. First, regarding custom dictionaries. when you got to search or type a link. If the starting letter is the same as a word in your custom dictionary, Firefox will auto fill, which is annoying. Second problem, more so when you are trying to perform a long string search. If you’re in the middle of typing and you accidentally touch above the letters on the keyboard. The keyboard disappears and also the search text too..Version: 116.1

Don’t like the new startupUsed Firefox for a long time on desktop and iPhone. Like the non-tracking features and bookmarks sync. One thing I don’t like in the latest version is that it goes to a new tab whenever I start it. If I keep using the new tab I end up with dozens open. Prefer to start wherever I was last time but can’t find an option for that. Otherwise though, happy with it and won’t be changing my default browser. Update - found the option now, thanks Mozilla for the response..Version: 96.0

Just one thing that bothers meLove the firefox browser and how it syncs with my desktop browser, excellent.. I’ve been using it for months.. But! Please change this one thing that bothers me and is a silly waste of time ~ When you want to copy a website’s address, you have to tap the address, then tap again to deselect it, then long-press, then tap to copy... it’s a real pain... Surely more people would be wanting to copy / paste than change the website’s address? PLEASE take a look at the way safari works in this respect - it is so much better One more thing ~ please add an option to ‘paste and search’ like in safari... again it saves pasting at the top of the screen the pressing ‘Go’ at the bottom of the screen... a much better user experience, I thought it would have been added to firefox by now. Thanks!.Version: 12.1

Needs search tabsPlease bring back search all tabs. The new typing in website in the address bar only works if you know the website name rather than just a bit of the page title. Also, search all tabs makes it easy to close all tabs from a particular website once you're finished with it..Version: 37.0

Version 10.1 is GreatVersion 10.1 (Nov 2017) is a big improvement for usability and stability. The new top and bottom bars are perfect. The new buttons are in great positions for me. Firefox for iOS is a stable browser, does everything chrome does. I trust Firefox more than Chrome. Don’t give all your personal data to Google. There’s still a minor issue with clicking some picture links..Version: 10.1

Excellent app. This is a great browser. I appreciate the ability to set a custom default engine (I prefer Ecosia - plant those trees, people!), night mode, enhanced protection, and sync with my Mac and iPad. My feature requests are: the option to make night mode turn on and off automatically in sync with the system dark mode, a one-tap button for a new tab, and the option to automatically close tabs after x days or a week. Great work, keep it up! Thanks!.Version: 36.0

It’s better then the defeaultWhile it is better than safari (mostly because it doesn’t randomly delete all of my tabs) but it is missing some quality of life things one being the capability to resize the page because in the app I feel like everything looks zoomed in and I’d like to zoom out a bit.Version: 102.1

I recommend Firefox (no, the internet doesn’t know ‘everything’ about you already).I recommend Firefox and believe it’s worth your time to ‘change’ to it. I don’t work I’m tech but try to understand things and be purposeful as best I can in these things. 1) It’s more secure than the most commonly used browsers (from ‘for profit’ companies). That (still) very much matters. There ARE other good alternatives I chose this one. 2) It works well and easily enough (really). In my experience, even when sites say it won’t either at all or all it’s features. 3) The features are good (homepage stuff, syncing across devices if you wish) I ENJOY using Firefox. P.s. (?) for context or maybe this helps: 1) I don’t use it on work computers, 2) I did make a Mozilla account and use the sync function and other features (not required), 3) I also was thoughtful in my choice of a default search engine, 4) and use a separate encrypted password program (I don’t save passwords in the browser’s program or on another built in system like Microsoft or Mac’s keychains etc)..Version: 106.1

Swipe gestures neededFirefox is losing the fight for market share. You want us to switch from chrome and safari to Firefox and we want to do it. But you need to have every feature that those other browsers do if you have any chance of actually taking back some of the browser market. Both safari and chrome allow me to swipe from tab to tab using the address bar and I’m always using it. Please ad this to your browser if not for my sake but for yours..Version: 98.0

Mostly Functional[Written for version 40.1] It took a few days from 40.0, but Firefox does appear to be working normally and without crashes. Had some mild issues with working out which “new tabs” were actually new tabs and not pretending to be actual tabs by grabbing screens from other tabs, but that’s minor..Version: 40.1

Very GoodPersonally I don’t like using google because of the absurd privacy invading and data hogging app that it is so I downloaded Firefox for much more secure and private web browser. It’s also just much better in general so I would say that it’s a great way to use the internet..Version: 119.0

ForgotTotally forgot about this browser was always the best one on the home pc back when 7gb was a lot of memory.Version: 107.2

Love the browser, app has a few stability issuesLook, I love FireFox. I am constantly recommending people use FireFox both on desktop and mobile. BUT the app is currently completely broken. It crashes within seconds of opening, so quickly that I can’t even interact with the pop up letting me know the previous session crashed! Neither updating the app nor updating my phone has solved the problem. Once this is fixed I’ll of course update my rating but for the moment it has to be 1 star because it’s completely unusable. Update: I had to delete and re the app to get it functional again; rather miffed that I lost all my tabs. (Yes, in theory if I had the whole sign in thing where you can share tabs across devices I’d still have them but the thing about that is I don’t WANT my tabs shared across devices, I do different things on different devices and that cross pollination would just be confusing and distracting for me. This is like the only circumstance in which that function would be desirable for me and I hope this circumstance never recurs.).Version: 107

Fastest Browser for iPad ProWhy can we not get an adblocker list on the iPad app like the one in the screen shot for the iPhone app in the App Store? You would think the iPads should have more functionality right? It would be great to be able to control the blockers and trackers like what is available on iOS to see how fast this browser can really go once it doesn’t have to load all the junk that is littered all over websites these days. If apple doesn’t start becoming capable of blocking ads out the gate without having to purchase adblocking software and install it then hope it works then I say the sales will probably go downhill pretty soon. Nobody will care if the iPad has an M1 or M2 chip and it can go so fast if you can’t even access the site because your fast tablet can’t block ads. Especially if Apple claims it’s all about privacy they should stand behind this without a doubt..Version: 33.0

GREAT but it needs some workThis app is a great alternative to Chrome and Safari, but I can’t help but notice some bad parts: 1. It’d be great if you could make the browser look like the desktop version’s default theme. That purple and white looks fantastic on PC and I think it’d look great here too. Either way, more options for the colour scheme would be VERY welcome and put Firefox far ahead of other browsers like Chrome which only has Dark/Light mode on mobile. 2. Saving bookmarks is kind of a hassle. It would be great if we could save a bookmark directly to a folder (like in Chrome) and not have to bookmark it and then navigate to ‘Mobile Bookmarks’ to change it’s location. Other than that. It is a GREAT browser. The incognito mode is easy to turn on, the crash messages are kind of funny and the bookmarks save over if you use Firefox on PC..Version: 34.0

Horrible User ExperienceI have used Firefox on and off now for a span of seven years, and I keep checking in to see if they fixed their terrible bookmark UX, and I am disappointed every time. Let me go into detail. For as long as I can remember, the most frustrating aspect of mobile Firefox is accessing bookmarks. Too many taps!! There should be a library icon on the navigation bar at the bottom, you tap ONCE and it shows you your bookmarks. More specifically the user should be able to customize what bookmarks they want to see right up front. For me, all my bookmarks live in the Bookmarks toolbar. I never put bookmarks into the Bookmarks menu - I mean, does anyone? Second point, right now when you tap the menu and tap “Your Library” it slides up this pane which displays your bookmarks, great - however, it’s super annoying to dismiss. If you don’t land your finger exactly on the right spot and swipe down, you end up swiping something else. There should be a “Done” element or some other way to dismiss that pane other than swiping. Even tapping on the gray swipe element to dismiss would be ok. I really love what Mozilla is doing with Firefox, with emphasis on security and privacy, but their UX/UI needs some serious attention. Even the desktop browser looks dated and has issues. These things wouldn’t bother your average user that much, but as a UX/UI designer myself - it grinds my gears..Version: 26.0

Worked really well until a few days agoThis app was perfect until a few days ago. Now every time I open it and start typing in the address bar, it crashes and I have to relaunch it and then it works normally. Please fix it if possible. It’s starting to become really annoying..Version: 102

Lagging and Unresponsive : updateAfter crashing this morning I decided not to restore my tabs and suddenly Firefox on IOS is lightning fast again. Whilst I’m happy it’s actually usable again, and that I’ve kept my history log, there is still something clearly wrong with tab management. Perhaps it’s the unused tabs option that was introduced. Never had a problem with speed of loading or closing tabs before that. I thought it might also be tracking prevention, but those options are the same as before. So I’m guessing this might only be a problem for people with lots of tabs open, and difficult to replicate for a Support query..Version: 105.1

Much better + suggestionsIf you’re looking for a chrome replacement that works very well and is available on many platforms, this is it! I use Firefox on iOS, macOS, Windows 10, and Linux. Please do not put focus in the address bar when you add a new tab. That way the menu for accessing bookmarks is still visible like safari. “New tab puts focus on address bar” could be an option. I’d prefer it be the default. The option for the address bar at the bottom is great! I realize the current implementation wants you to create a new tab when accessing a bookmark but you still have to close the bookmark menu AND touch the switch button at the bottom. this is just not as easy as not putting focus on the new tab and then picking your bookmark.Version: 104.1

Love this browserLong time Firefox user. It is so much easier and user friendly then alternatives like chrome, while also being much more secure and private. I also love the logo and themes. Much nicer to look at then other browsers. I would recommend this to everyone..Version: 105

Works very wellFirefox has one very big advantage over my previous browser, Chrome - it actually works! Recently Chrome has become unusable with constant crashing, very slow loading and regular refusal to load even simple websites. Contacting Google for a resolution was met with stony silence. Firefox, on the other hand, loads pages very quickly and has yet to crash on me at all. The aesthic is pleasing enough - it's a Web browser, not a thing of beauty - and it's easy to use. A significant improvement! It does long press link preview and search suggestions better than Chrome as well. I've knocked one star off because the process of bookmarking a site and putting that bookmark into the folder you want is a bit cumbersome. I also haven't tried the syncing option across devices yet so I can't comment on that. Oh, and the icon is purple. Never a bad thing!.Version: 26.0

Firefox Is ExcellentI need a browser I can use across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and ipadOS. I determine which browser I’ll use based on the developer’s stance on ads, user tracking, and general user privacy. Mozilla has been advocating for its user base for many years. They were the first mainstream browser to fully support blocking ads and stopping website tracking. The ad companies hated Mozilla for that and as far as I’m concerned that means Mozilla is doing something right. User tracking and advertising on the internet has gotten way out of control. It makes me happy that there are browsers like Firefox helping to protect those of us who care enough to have a problem with our privacy being stripped away by businesses selling our personal information to the lowest bidder. Thanks for that, Mozilla!.Version: 98.0

My review + rantSolid 5/5. good search results, good for testing what the best search engine is (since there are already some pre-installed like google, duckduckgo, qwant or however tf u spell it, bing etc.), doesn’t track your data, amazing settings to customise it how u want, great alt. to google chrome, safari, opera etc. love how u can save things to the front page, and see pocket trending to read up on stuff when you’re bored. “oh well what about the bugs” alright karen, no, they didn’t mean to accidentally get rid of your 2 bookmarks to your banana biscuit cake flavour recipes or your 6 letter password for your email because you have the memory of a goldfish. it’s a bug, they will fix it now stop complaining about the update. you can highlight text, you just aren’t doing it properly. they don’t sell your data to 3rd parties: you should sue them if you think they’re facebook 2.0 for false advertising and the invasion of users’ privacy..Version: 19.1

The most reliable browser in the market👌🏼Thanks to the dedicated development teams, any problems I’ve experienced have been addressed and fixed before I even thought of reporting them… And with regard to protecting users, after testing several other browsers, I have uninstalled them from all the devices in my household and set up Firefox as default. Since many of us are nowadays on mobile screens more than desktops, I agree with a fellow user's review about the need for a bookmark tool to make it easier to access and manage bookmarks on mobile devices, rather than having to navigate through the menu. Thanks for your continued commitment to privacy and respect. Hope that will never change 🙏🏼.Version: 112.2

Works perfectlyI really enjoy Firefox works just as good as chrome if not better..Version: 30.0

Great browser but…Works perfect and love the UI but I keep switching back to Chrome when making online purchases since Firefox don’t support credit cards auto fill. If that feature would be there definitely would be a five star rating.Version: 36.0

Great browser but why move refresh buttonMy daily mobile browser, but why did you have to move the refresh button. I rarely visit the “home” page.Version: 37.0

AmazingAdd Download Feature and its Perfect.Version: 1.0.1

GreatReally good.Version: 97.0

Best ios browserI read reviews from peoplewho gave one stars and I uave concluded they have no idea how to properly set up this browser. Switch on Strict tracking mode and use private browsing at all times. Dark mode is the difference maker! 5/5.Version: 28.0

Missing a couple of featuresI made the switch back to Firefox recently, after a few years with Chrome, and there are a lot of great features. The icon looks nice, navigation is generally intuitive, and I LOVE that I can shift my address bar up to the top where I’m used to it being — that alone has made the switch much smoother and more seamless overall. One thing that I’m really missing is the ability to open a new tab from within a current tab. I have to go into my current tabs first. I know this is only a single additional steps, but I do a lot of research with multiple tabs from my phone, and I often have to open another tab to reference something else quickly. It would feel less like “disengage, switch task, reengage” if I didn’t need to go somewhere else first. Overall, I’m really enjoying Firefox, I just feel like that functionality — even as an option, like the address bar being top or bottom — would really improve my experience overall..Version: 104

Pretty good but could be faster.I don’t understand the negative reviews tbh. This is by far the most user-friendly and no nonsense browser. I’ve used all of the rest you name them. I’ve had to switch back and forth back and forth until I found Mozilla to be the best and most balanced. What I love about it is that there are not much advertising on the screens like other browsers. Keep it up Mozilla but just make it faster please..Version: 107.2

The best and safest browserI was a computer scientist, systems analyst and support technician for 51 years. I am also a woman. I have exclusively used Firefox since it’s inception. I have always been impressed that it is nonprofit. In 2013, I had 2 PC’s and my bank card. Having hacked the stolen computers, the perp was able to access my bank account and steal $300,000. She was able to gain remote access to my other computers and commit other crimes. I was able to track her activities, but law enforcement did nothing, because they didn’t believe a woman could know that much about computers and the law. Using Firefox, I was able to protect myself from this known hacker. Any time she broke through Firefox’s secure settings, if Firefox didn’t first notify me, I would notify them, and my accounts would again be sufficiently secured. The techs at Internet Explorer or Chrome wouldn’t have done the same. I am forever grateful to the people who have made Firefox possible. I love Nightly. Not only will I always exclusively use Firefox, I have promoted it to all of my clients, and anyone else who would listen because they cared about safety when on the Web. I will continue to do so because I have faith and experience that no other browser can even come close to what Firefox can do..Version: 106.1

Finally we can switch our default browser!!For years i dread to open links from other apps because it means i have to use safari or go through the pain staking way if copying the link manually switching to Firefox. But no more. Finally Apple has given in and Mozilla have updated their app to let us use Firefox as a default browser (something we’ve been able to do for DECADES on a normal computer). The technology is finally here. Thanks Apple!.Version: 28.2

WowSuper fast Easy to use Just awesome Back to basic but so smooth soo quick Well done.Version: 15.1

Great Job!Great job overall but could do with some improvements to the UI and easier access to the Settings menu as it took me a while to find it on the tab view. Other than that I am happy to finally see Firefox on iOS!.Version: 1.0.1

Loses open tabsI’ve been using Firefox on Windows for many years because a) it isn’t from one of the large corporations who mainly want to sell me something and b) I can customise it using the large variety of extensions. On my iPhone I like that I can sync to PC and send tabs etc but I do have one major issue. When looking at various items or web articles I usually keep a few tabs open on my phone with some sites and web pages that I want to go back to again. Occasionally when opening Firefox on my phone I find that all the tabs which were open on the previous session have been closed snd I get a new blank tab. This is very annoying and means that I will probably go back to using Safari more ch of the time..Version: 114.1

Version numberOne big problem I run into is that a lot of websites will incorrectly assume that I have a very old version of Firefox running. This is probably because the mobile version number is inconsistent with the desktop versions. While not your fault, could you guys make the mobile version catch up? Thanks for the updates lately. Also there’s a problem with download. Sometimes the download goes above the expected file size and does not stop. Like you’d have 100MB/50.3MB and the download keeps going until you cancel. Restarting the download will make it continue from where it was left off.Version: 25.1

Offline Reading 📖Offline reading is great feature on FireFox iOS, probably what strikes most, compared to all browsers is that it’s developer focused 🧰 . Other browsers have the option of ‘Reader’s List’ 📖 but however it is not offline and requires internet or network roaming 📶 which eats up data. Also, Safari has this option but it depends on iCloud. Unlike Firefox which can load and store a page offline and read articles in the Reader mode. It’s a needed feature in modern browsers, but Mozilla put full quality control and safety..Version: 21.0

New Studies Feature Opts In As DefaultI do like the new features but let’s be brief. First off, as an irony on your part, the ironic statement of your app being “safe and private browsing” and yet having the new Studies feature set as default opt-in in the Settings as standard seems to go against the statement of the app. Yes, I know it’ll help with improving services. It would have been a lot nicer if the app asked us if we wanted to be opted in as soon as we launch it again after updating because I don’t like being opted into something that I don’t agree with. Other than that, excellent app and service..Version: 35.0

Excellent Browser - Just like it’s always beenI’ve used Mozilla’s Netscape in the mid-late 1990s. First at the university I attended which because it was a former military base that was being repurposed and reclaimed where it was safe to do so, was one of the first to be hardwired to the internet as well as supplying remote dialup, email, and server space to students. This was back when AOL was cranking out landfill CDROMs by the millions and misinterpreting what the internet was. There were moments when I thought the browser had been the victim of the dotcom bubble burst, only to find it had risen from the flames like a Firebird under a new name, but from the same good people. So I guess I’ve been a Mozilla brand user that has stuck with them at least as a secondary browser and usually as a go to. There are simply more options with Firefox - especially in the way you can modify its appearance in desktop OSs, which isn’t a functional thing, but nonetheless important. What is important is security and I have never felt at risk using Firefox. Even Safari in iOS has moments when (very obvious and bad) attempts to bait you get through - telling you to update your Flash from 2010 (yes< in iOS). But I’ve yet to have anything like that happen in Firefox. Only con I would say is that I wish in integrated easier with iOS. But I don’t think it would be what it is if it did..Version: 102

Want to get away from big tech, and get a more secure browser?Basically every other alternative to Google is based on chromium, which means if there’s an exploit in Google, there’s an exploit in them. But Firefox uses its own gecko technology. This means it is more secure, because less hackers target it. Not only that, but Firefox dark mode is better, and it is just as good as chrome in every other way! EDIT: Firefox iOS uses WebKit, not gecko. So its essentially just safari but better.Version: 101.1

Best Browser!Firefox is a fantastic mobile browser that offers a range of features and benefits that make it stand out from the crowd. One of the key advantages of using Firefox on your mobile device is its speed and reliability. It loads web pages quickly and efficiently, even on slower networks, and rarely crashes or freezes. Additionally, Firefox is highly customizable, allowing users to choose from a wide range of themes, add-ons, and extensions to enhance their browsing experience. It also offers strong privacy and security features, such as tracking protection and encrypted syncing, which help to keep your data safe and secure. Overall, Firefox is a top-notch mobile browser that combines speed, reliability, customization, and security, making it a great choice for anyone who wants to browse the web on their mobile device! 😊.Version: 112.2

Thanks Mozilla! Very nice experience.I can browser like on desktop Firefox, my logins are available and read mode is a tap away!.Version: 15.0

Great app only held back by AppleAll the goodness you’d expect from Firefox. The only real problem is being restricted to the out of date web render that Apple forces all iOS browsers to use..Version: 101.0

ShortcutsCould the new tab shortcuts please be displayed as a list, rather than squares, as an option?.Version: 100.1

Good but big problemEver since the update all my bookmarks are gone. Straight up. It's on my laptop, on my other devices but not on here. I've tried syncing it but nothing happens.Version: 17.1

Needs another tweakRecent version has a bug where every time I need to swipe away from my app, when I swipe back, it opens another homepage window. I’m not talking about closing the app and restarting it, I’m talking about swiping to music to and then swiping back, or putting the phone down for a moment, long enough for the lock screen to show, and immediately reopening. That is really annoying because I have to keep clearing a clutter of homepage. Is that accumulate at the bottom of my open pages list. Fix that and it’s back to five stars. And…. The suggested fix is to change a secondary homepage settings menu (not an obvious place to me to look for this) but when I set that to “last tab” as directed by the developer, who did kindly respond to my review, it proceeded to lose my login and place on the webpage that was the last tab open— I knees are websites that I have privileged to retain my login information and cookies so that I open them up in a logged in state. This works flawlessly on the laptop web browser, but continues to be a fail on the mobile app. And web browser and mobile app are both continuously logged into my Firefox account and synced with each other. Still needs work..Version: 107.3

Great browser, slightly off visualsI’ve been using Firefox forever on both pc and mobile, and I love the clean, fast design much better than Chrome. One small problem (I’m just nitpicking now) is that with the new update the tabs button is now a squashy rectangle where double digit numbers are cramped in, and this annoys me a bit. Please put it back to a square for the next update! Also, the menu buttons have a bit of lag between pressing them and a menu popping up. Can you please make this a bit more responsive? Keep up the good work Mozilla..Version: 34.0

Always a firefox fan- Open source: helps with security - dark theme. I don’t really understand why edge and chrome can’t do this I think these folks found a really nice solution by building it in proper. Dark mode is not a niche at all. Reading at night is horrid on a white background. I never could stand it. - talk about privacy focused, look at the firefox business model - speed, and user interface. - stable and fast, and standards based. Not sure why there aren’t more downloads for firefox. Especially because of the dark background i find it to be one of the more useable browsers.u fact it had one before safari did. My one ask to the devs as far as features if we aren’t talking security which i always want more of: please add the profile switching (make it convenient) like chrome. It’s a useful way to manage. browser state and usage. I get it’s an advanced feature, but if i’m doing something for work like testing webpages, and making tracking harder or just managing browser state by profile it helps..Version: 98.2

Worth it for Dark ModeThe only browser with a proper, genuine dark mode - blackout background with dim text. Bookmark system needs some work and “Find In Page” is broken, but I’m satisfied overall..Version: 33.0

Great appLove it but the most recent update as of Sept 24/21 has it always start on your home page with no visible way to turn the option off. I WANT to be distracted by the tabs I have open, it’s why I left them open..Version: 37.0

If it works don’t fix it100 - Updated to 100, and the home page, which should be a brief visit to tap a pinned page or a pocket article or type in the URL bar, now lags multiple seconds. This means every single time I want to go to a new site or do a new search there is an atrocious 3-5 second lag. There is a lag before the page changes and further lag before the page becomes responsive. This is an entirely new issue with the update to 100. I had *zero* issues with Firefox until this update and an on a 13 pro, so hardware isn’t the issue. The only thing I see different is the pocket articles now scroll sideways instead of vertically. I also see the jump back in switch and notice the “homepage” setting takes several seconds to open.” I turned off all the “recent” things you want to show me without improvement. Please stop with the pointless UI tinkering and focus on keeping things working smoothly. 109 - seems to be a little snappier, but now reduce transparency from accessibility settings is inverted in Firefox for the close tab, new tab pop up. That menu is clear when reduce transparency is on. Maybe it’s unique to my settings and it’ll sort itself out. Pretty frustrating..Version: 109

Great app. Desktop is superior. The app is great. Does pretty much anything I need to. UI is fantastic. Only issue is that some photos on website are inverted/negative coloured for no reason. This doesn’t happen on the desktop browser..Version: 21.0

Can be used to configs wireless 192.168.x.xCan be used to acces my routers configs . Safari cant .. 198.168.X.X.Version: 18.2

Proper Dark Mode experienceI only use this browser as it offers true dark mode web browsing. Not even Apple or Google can provide that despite the billions in r&d. I even use this as a replacement for certain apps that don’t offer dark mode so highly recommend if this is a key feature for you..Version: 20.1

Why bother you don't listen to your customersI had this written once, but as usual, using Firefox, as my search engine, on my iOS 16.4 iPhone 12 I lost what I was writing, to see what another person had written, to make sure I was not just writing the same exact thing. Firefox has no individual settings. And in iPhone 12 settings Firefox is NOT even listed!! So along with No settings, NO font settings, Firefox has NO setting where their customers can turn off the REFRESH background setting. So the only thing I know to do is take a picture of the page before I go out of the Firefox app review or anything else on the Firefox web browser page. Or copy and paste what I typed before leaving the present Firefox search engine or on the Firefox app page on my iPhone app store page. I will be so glad when the new search engine comes out that will be customer friendly, and even that you don't know about this new search engine Firefox, it is in the development stage..Version: 111.2

Offered upgrade feels like a downgrade!I’ve been using Firefox on ipad for 2 or 3 years now without any serious issue but the 9th September upgrade offer proudly announces, “Firefox will start on your homepage every time you reopen the browser after a couple of hours to avoid being distracted by the tabs of your last session.” How can you be distracted by tabs you intentionally left open? Without knowing if we’ll be able to disable this ‘feature’, before losing any currently open tabs, how can we safely upgrade?.Version: 37.0

Sometimes I Miss ChromeLet me start by saying that about a year ago, I completely switched from Firefox to Google Chrome. I do not regret it, either! I love the bookmark system, the speed, and the syncing. But on mobile, there is something I sorely miss from chrome: the bookmark features. On chrome, I could edit a bookmark from the browser. I didn’t have to visit the bookmark manager. That seems like something Firefox should have. As someone who used tab stash, I have a lot of desktop bookmark folders. This wouldn’t be a problem if I had to scroll through about fifty folders each time! On Google Chrome, when you open bookmarks, it automatically takes you to the mobile bookmark folder. Why can’t Firefox do this? All in all, I love Firefox, and if these changes were made, I’d use it just as much on mobile as I do on desktop.Version: 105.1

Best browser everFor customisation, security, privacy, ease of use and everything in between it just doesn’t get any better than Firefox. Been using it since the days of Netscape and it’s always been better than the competition! Keep up the good work..Version: 102

A serious step down from the earlier releasedGreat browser. Good alternative to Safari. Blocks image loading thus saving my mobile data plan. The swipe gestures totally mess up browsing because these cause unintended page reloads (pull down/swipe left right) causing valuable partially entered form data to be lost, and an increase in mobile data and loss of time. Hate gestures. Coincidentally, I patched my iphone 4s to ios 9.3.6 last night and then used Firefox. The last Firefox release on ios 9 is a joy to use. Quick nice and simple: Just like ios 9..Version: 29.0
