✓ Does the jobI’ve been using the app for about a year now ever since i broke my remote. It works fine but with minor issues. First there is no way to turn on the tv without having to do it manually from the tv button. Second if u minimize the app and go to another app on your phone and then go back to the remote app it loses its connection with the tv. The app connects to my LG Smart TV well but sometimes after I press a button an ad pops up, and I have to wait a while for the ad to end so I can continue to use the remote. ✓ LG remote appThis remote is very good, but still fails in key areas. If I use this app and close out of it, I can’t come back to my remote if I want to change the channel or or turn the volume up for example. I have to delete this app from my iPhone’s background process, and then go back into it in order to have functionality. It’s so annoying. LG recently updated the app and yet, it’s the same business. Also, the home button control button is on a separate page from the most used control like volume and so I have to go back and forth on different pages to get the buttons I want. Thanks also super annoying. The magic remote set the bar to high LG. Please fix this app..Version: 1.10.1

The LG app which is the television Zi have it’s not worth even a mention this app finally connected to one of tv’s and it seem to work fine, however from the get go every time you press for a command a rather lengthy ad appears and you cannot do anything else during this time. ✓ Could be great, just falls shortDownloaded this app after my two kids managed to make our old tv remote completely disappear from he face of the earth. Was hoping to not have to buy an expensive replace or a cheap universal one but found this smart app. The connectivity of it asked like a nice feature and for what it’s worth the first time I opened it seemed to work fine. Used it for an evening and got quickly tired of the ads so paid for the full app. Literally the next day it started giving me a ton of trouble, random crashing in the app, 15 mins to connect to the tv while it’s syncing on starts, and the most common error is it will “successfully connect” and not show any of the remote interfaces like it can’t load them. Tried updating and reinstalling with same results. Essentially now if i open the app, I can expect to have to restart that app 5-6 times during use. Another fun thing is if it’s connected, and you are watching something but just leave the app open and put your phone to sleep, when you need to use it and turn it back on it does just go back to working. Cycle sync icon for 2-3 mins and then crash. It’s basically now something I spent money on that will sit useless in a folder on my phone. I’m giving it two stars because I saw it working well at start and would love if it was consistent. Guess who’s just buying a universal from Walmart now?.Version: 1.10.2

✓ Good but be very careful!App works well but be warned it allows access to system menus where you can cause serious problems and maybe even brick the TV. It would probably void the warranty too. Most important of all, it allows you to set the TV to hotel mode, but after you’ve done that THE TV WILL NO LONGER ALLOW THE APP TO CONNECT! That means you are stuck in hotel mode which locks out various functions including reset to default settings. You can only get out of hotel mode using a service remote or programmable universal remote to do the In-Stop function. I know this from personal experience. Be very careful!!.Version: 1.9.5

To be clear, it absolutely finds your tv when the tv is off, it just won’t let you control it. - Ads on a per click basis it seems like? Around every 5-10 clicks, you get an ad that you can skip after about 5 seconds - If you don’t keep the app open, and your phone unlocked, the app will have to search for your TV every time you open it up, then the buttons won’t work until you swipe to different buttons on the remote and swipe back. Like I said, it’s fine for a temporary remote, but they couldn’t pay me to use this as an actual remote for more than a couple days.Version: 1.14.1

But I seriously cannot stress how annoying it is that the true connection with the Tv only usually lasts as long as the phone screen is still on, meaning if your in a comfy awkward position you gotta get out of it repeatedly to force close the app in your multitask section and start it up again to reconnect to the TV. This makes it impossible for the app to be a really good actual permanent remote replacement. That plus the fact that you cannot turn on a switched off TV. Thou I understand why. My router broadcasts in 2 bands. That may be what the other people that couldn’t connect were experiencing. Haven’t tried connecting with the TV hard wired to the router. Once connected it works fine except..... I want to know how much Final Fantasy is paying these guys to throw their ad up in your face every 60 seconds. For the app to be useful, you must buy it. ✓ Stops WorkingI purchased the pro version & it worked for a minute but now it won’t work. 99% of the time the app won’t open & when it does it will say it’s searching for the device. I’ve waited for more than 30 minutes trying to “search” for my device with my phone right by the the tv & it still won’t work. I thought maybe deleting the app & downloading it again will help but it doesn’t. The app will randomly start work when it wants. My significant other has the same app on his phone & his won’t even open. I am still trying to connect to my LG tv. ✓ ReviewOverall the functionality of the app is pretty quality. I am annoyed that initially it is a free download but to actually use the remote you have to pay 5 dollars. Is it annoying to purchase an app that works? No! Just charge from the get go. Only real complaint is that the app freezes out pretty regularly so I have to restart or refresh purchase in the settings to get it to reconfigure. Otherwise app is solid. ✓ Purchasing Again before Subscription expires?!At first the app worked just fine. But after about three months from purchasing the one year subscription it stopped working. ( I subscribed November 2022, it expires November 2023) It started playing ads again like during the free trial period. Now it’s asking me to subscribe again?! I paid for one full year to only get three months of it working. I will say when it did work I had no issues at all. It never crashed, froze, etc. it worked great. ✓ ContradictoryI got this app because my dog ate my remote. It was useful- when the TV was already on. It takes forever to load. When it does load and I use the remote how I please, then my phone off and back on, it has to load all over again! And when the TV is off, there is no way to turn it on because it won’t connect with the TV when it’s off! How is this app supposed to work when you still need the help of the remote to turn the tv on for you?! It’s so contradictory! ✓ Sometimes frustratingWould be great if it did not take so long to switch between the tvs I have in the house as I have 3 lg tvs if I use app on one it takes me a few minutes if not more to disconnect to that tv and connect to another lg tvs remotes last about 6 months so I rely on this app to use my devices . ✓ Good but has problemsSwitching from a fire tv to an LG smart I knew would be a struggle as they were different OS’s. The TVs are different but learning that is easy. The remote apps on the other hand is frustrating to say the least. Why have a keyboard if it doesn’t work on anything? I spent $4 to get the keypad, and it doesn’t even work for anything.
