It was good until the interactive widget updateIt was good until the interactive widget update and now I cannot add or even see my minimalist widgets. i used this for school and now it doesn’t even work. I used to like it so much I even paid for the full version. Now Im left here with no option than to go to some other app. Sad day today.Version: 2.22.4

In betweenLots of the things need to be paid for but otherwise it’s great!!.Version: 2.8.10

For $6, no thanksThe simplicity is refreshing and the concept is a good one (and the name is really adorable) but my issue is with real world functionality and the fact you have to pay $6 for Premium to make more than 1 list and this didn’t seem clear to me up front. I don’t know any list maker who needs just one list and lets be real, if one wants to make only 1 list there are plenty of other applications out there that do just that and then some, for free. I will say that the only maybe plus side is that with your 1 list and a tap you can add a 25 minute focus timer, but again, I can with only a minor amount more effort do the same thing by turning on my phone timer. I can completely understand the need for apps to monetize and I am not making fault with that practice. I can totally see requiring a premium subscription after say, 3 or 5 lists, but 1 list? My suggestion is just make it a paid app from the beginning instead so people have a true idea of what they can expect. That, or make it very clear in the description what people can expect with the free version vs the premium so expectations don’t get misaligned..Version: 2.10.1

Stick to NotesI had hoped for dynamic lists, lists within lists, a way of organising multiple items, lists in the same heading with different subheadings, just something that might help me with my giant ‘to-do’ while i’m moving house. This app offers nothing. it’s impossible to use (even if you pay for it, which i did) and the UI is terrible, swiping this way and that trying to remember the brief and useless tutorial, add the fact that every time you tap on a task it starts a timer, and it’s an overall terrible experience. MinimaList is literally just a bad version of the apple notes app. that’s not fair to the Notes app, actually, which is 1000x more useful than this. what a waste of money :(.Version: 2.10.1

Expensive for an appLook I like the app and will continue to use it but $10 is a bit steep for the features on the proper version. Mind you that $ was discounted too.Version: 2.9.6

Frustrating GesturesI really wanted to love this app. The simple aesthetic and basic functionality is really appealing, and the “focus” function which allows you to use this as a simple time tracker is also very helpful. But after the 50th time deleting or ticking off tasks by accident while trying to do something else (usually pinching to get back to the list of lists), I give up. It’s too much work to keep putting in recurring tasks over and over again. It’s also not very clear when recurring tasks disappear if you don’t get to them in time. After a period of time that doesn’t seem customizable, they vanish for the current cycle and reappear for the next. The main issue is the gestures, though. Either my iPad just isn’t intuitive enough to tell the difference between different gestures, or I’m not skilled enough at it. Either way, the gesture confusion ruins this app for me. On to the next to-do app. Hoping to find the Holy Grail one day..Version: 2.4.21

What kind of to do list doesn’t let you plan stuff for TODAYDownloaded it, pretty much immediately deleted it because you can’t make tasks for today, even if you select “today” in the date. it just always says tomorrow. and when i say that’s done, it doesn’t repeat even though it says it’s daily! dumb.Version: 2.20.26

Decent AppThe Minimalist lives up to its name. It’s a decent app overall. I like how it easily syncs to Google and iOS Calendar. There are a few issues that bug me though. I dislike having to pinch zoom to view multiple lists. Id prefer a one-handed option. Also, when the list is full, it often takes multiple tries to be able to pinch just right. It would also make more sense to pinch zoom inward from upper right and from lower left instead of from upper left and from lower right, as the text has a tendency to block the gesture. Another issue I have is how tapping on items brings you to Focus Mode. I rarely use the focus mode and constantly inadvertently tap to that page. I ’d prefer options for to choose to decide what action takes place after tapping; one of the options being to edit mode instead of having swipe left slightly, which often leads me to the “are you sure remove the task?” query if I swipe a bit too hard. Although these issues are minor, adding them and other issues that I may mention later together leads to wasted time and not wanting to use the app much. I like the design and layout, but the unintuitive gestures ruins it..Version: 2.7.5

It has potentialIn downloaded this app as I thought it would be useful when organising my revision timetable for my GCSEs and my to-do lists and after reading the reviews I was presented with great expectations however, even though I am rather intelligent and good with modern technology I found the apps controls far more complex than they needed to be especially for a ‘minimalist’ to-do list app I was also unimpressed by the lack of services provided (1 to-do list sheet) unless you are willing to pay just under £12 to unlock all features advertised when downloading this app. Overall, personally would not recommend the free basic apple notes and reminders apps are far better..Version: 2.6.6

Wish there was a free trial of premiumI know that the one time payment option of $9.99 is fantastic value and worth it just to try, but as a student my budget is minimal... and as someone with ADHD, beginning work on making changes to my lifestyle, I am at the point where I am wanting to trial several different apps before making a commitment to one. While this looks like it would be perfect with the premium features, I’m not in a position to pay $10, only to find out that maybe it’s not really the app for me and have to seek out a refund and wait for that to come through before I can then put my finds toward trialling another app. Even just a 24 hour free trial would be great — just to get a quick idea of what the premium features are like and how they app works with them. It really does seem like a great app that I would love to get the premium features for, but may just have to wait until I’m in a position I can justify it. Will change my rating and review after I’ve had a chance to see what it’s like with premium..Version: 2.8.8

Used to be a 5 but they stopped being minimalThe app used to be great for quick reminders/to do’s to throw on a list. No nonsense, could set a reminder, done. Now though, it’s become overly complicated where it takes an extra click to edit an existing item, among extra clicks for other things. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but for someone that works for a software company, it adds up quickly, quickly become annoying, and an overall negative user experience. I’ve found myself jumping to the Apple option instead (cleaner, simpler, intuitive, and just works). Though still have items in this one, so still find myself using it but likely not in the long term. As noted in the subject this was a 5 star app, but as I write this it has gone from a 3 to a 2. Give it a go to see if you like it, but I won’t be recommending this to people as I did in the past. Update: Thanks for the response! Found those settings, which got it back to how it used to be. So appreciate that! Also found other settings worth using. I would suggest having a quick “update” tutorial to highlight changes and things like that. Also bumped up this review score..Version: 2.20.24

DitchedI ditched the app for missing basic features as not being able to follow telephone links for whenever I need as part of my tasks call someone on the phone or text. I told the developer but he didn’t care..Version: 2.20

PotentialI loved this app. It’s the most aesthetically pleasing and I quickly understood how it worked. I subscribed for 49p per month so I could have unlimited lists, however, after a few weeks this stopped working. It kept bringing up error messages saying I wasn’t connected to the App Store and lost all my lists. Then, after fiddling about with passwords and disconnecting then reconnecting, it would work again for a few weeks. Eventually I tried to contact for support but got nowhere with that so I’ve deleted it. I’m trying other free apps instead but might come back and try it in the new year maybe after some updates. Thanks guys for creating a beautiful and simple looking app. For anyone wanting just one list then there’s no need to subscribe and this issue won’t happen..Version: 2.6.4

DecentMinimalist is really great, a good app for organisation and is able to function without in-app purchases. Although, it is lacking some things which would make it worth 5 stars. It could use some bug fixes like when pressing complete on a sub task it sometimes duplicates instead of ticking it off? Personally I think the addition of having positive I’ve encouragement after completing a task would be a nice touch but the app works fine either way. The ability to have it as a widget is also very useful. Overall it’s a decent app..Version: 2.20.24

Please fix widgetWidgets are not usable at all.Version: 2.22.5

FrustratingI have tried to use this app over and over thinking it must just be me. I get it you want a minimalist appearance but I’m lost about where I am. In my effort to explore around I lose information. It’s like only the cool people can use this app because they know the secret language. And in my pursuit to find my way I keep landing on the countdown timer which I never use. Ironically all this searching for the secret language of how to use this app make it non minimalist to use. I shouldn’t spend 20 minutes remembering how to use the app to do a two minute task. Give us some buttons to see. Maybe the ability to turn them off for the people who don’t want to see them. Put that timer on a button so you can turn it off. It is useless and in the way. I run a business and can’t keep loosing things on my list in the name of aesthetics. The ability to change the font size and color would be a plus. You could add multiple numbers to your business if this app jus wasn’t to exhausting to use..Version: 2.7.6

False Advertising - Where are the widgets?!I wanted a widget on my Home Screen that would show me my daily tasks. I don’t like how the native reminders app worked for this so I started looking for a new one. This app looks nice, had a good rating and the preview images say they have a home screen widget so I tried it. I really like how you create lists and tasks and the part that really sold me was being able to set the recurrence of a task to be specific days of the week. For example: every week on Monday and Thursday. LOVED that. I do wish we could set an end date, but that’s a minor thing to me. I immediately went and got the pro subscription. After creating my list I went to add the widget to my home screen and…nothing. I tried typing the app name in the widget search…still nothing. I went into the app settings and clicked on widgets settings and the screen shots show how to add the widget to the hidden widget page (the one that you slide out by swiping right on your fist home screen) and that you had to add the widget to that section where you put widgets that haven’t been updated to the newer widget system. Keep in mind that the preview on the App Store shows that you can add the widget to a HOMESCREEN. I was annoyed but went to add the widget to the slide out screen anyways and again, nothing. There are NO WIDGETS. What the heck?!.Version: 2.12.1

Really goodReally good for keeping organised and staying focused while studying.Version: 2.4.33

One issueI bought this as a fan of minimalist apps with a simple interface. I was disappointed to discover that syncing with Apple reminders only works one way, from Reminders to Minimalist but not the other way. This alas is a deal breaker and one I wished I'd known before purchasing. Contrast this with GoodTask which syncs in both directions immediately. A great pity as I admire Minimaliat's simplicity and otherwise excellent interface..Version: 2.20.19

So much potential but a lot of bugsI have tried A LOT of to do list apps and I really feel like this one could be the best one I’ve ever tried. I love the layout, the minimal look of the app does so much to help me stay focused and not get overwhelmed with my list. However, the bugs make it somewhat difficult to use which can be frustrating, especially after paying for the lifetime pro version. The most prominent bugs are the drop down menu that moves tasks between lists and notification errors. When I am trying to move tasks between lists the drop down menu often just doesn’t work and I am unable to move my tasks around. I have to try sometimes 10 or more times to move them. Also, the notifications for a task continue to go off, even if I have already marked that task as complete. If some of these bugs would get worked out, I would be so impressed with this app and be a loyal user. On a personal note, and to echo another review I read: it would be nice to be able to change the time and date edit to one click and the pomodoro focus timer to two clicks. It seems much for intuitive to me as I am more apt to want to quickly change dates and times..Version: 2.5.7

Widget not as shownI can’t see the list I made in the widget, only the title, and it doesn’t become transparent even when I edit the widget for it to work….Version: 2.22.5

Some glitches presentI’ve used the Pomodoro function for the first time and it is very glitchy. The pop up says to shake when finished. I shook the phone hard and got the message to put down my phone and get to work. After several more attempts, the option came up to pause or press Done. I tried pressing it but nothing happened. I then went out and then crossed the item off my list. The timer kept going. I had to go back into the timer and several attempts later, managed to mark it complete. Not really what I’m looking for in an app..Version: 2.7.6

Great but…Great app for it’s interface, easy to use and I love how they explained how to get an interactive widget. Although, WAY too many things need the paid version. If you only use the app for a few quick notes it’s good, but if you want to make clean separated sections, colours, etc, so you don’t have your to-do list mixed up together ( groceries, clean house, school stuff, work) then this app isn’t the best. I’ll probably search for another app..Version: 2.22.4

My reviewIt’s helpful it helps me keep on track w my studies 8/10 recommend if ur looking for something aesthetic this is not it unless u want to pay but it’s still a good a choice if that doesn’t matter to u but to me it does just a tiny bit but still use it everyday :).Version: 2.7.10

Didn’t like itDeleted it within the first 5 mins. Couldn’t do much outside of the paid version. Wasn’t easily manoeuvrable. Every time I tried to save something it wouldn’t let me without paying so I got frustrated and deleted it..Version: 2.12

Please enable widget customisationI purchased the lifetime premium for the sole purpose of being able to customise the font and background of the widget. I was really disappointed to find that regardless of custom settings, the widget does not sync and still displays the default settings. I really hope that this will be fixed in a future update, because I otherwise really enjoy the app..Version: 2.9.32
